We’ve all had to deal with the inevitable stress of a phone battery dying in the parks (still makes me sad every time though).

After all the photo taking, video recording, and DFB website checking, our dwindling batteries have loved the extra boost the FuelRod stations around the park in Disney have given us. And, while the guests in Disney World are already bummed out by the portable charger’s price increase, we’ve got some bad news for folks on the left coast.

The FuelRod stations in Disneyland will be experiencing the same price increase as their counterparts in Disney World (whyyyyy?!).

FuelRods are available for guests to purchase not only in the Disney parks, but in airports, malls, and more, and offer an extra lil boost to keep their phone batteries going all day long. The service in Disney has been easy breezy in the past as you’d only need to pay $30 initially for the charger and cables for most phone models. When the charger died, you just had to return it to a FuelRod machine in the parks to exchange it for a fully charged and FREE FuelRod in its place! Awesome, right?!

But, just like the sticker we saw on the machines in Disney World, Disneyland will be changing their FuelRod policy as well. Starting November 1st, the cost will no longer be free for an exchange, but $3 instead (!!!). Yeah, we’re feeling pretty disappointed about this change across both coasts too.

At this point, we highly recommend investing in an Anker charger that you can just bring into the parks and recharge yourself at home or in the hotel. It’s cheaper, and you can get a size with a longer charge.

So, the next time you’re in Disneyland, consider bringing an extra portable charger or two on top of charging your FuelRod before park-hopping.
