Excuse Us While We Go Cry About This New Price Increase in Disney World

We just learned that one of our favorite services at Disney World is getting a change and we’re SO sad!

One of our fav ways to keep our phones a-runnin’ on those long park days has been FuelRods, but starting soon we all will be paying a new premium to take advantage of this service at Disney World. With all the recent ear price hikes and price increases on foods around the parks, it’s not the most shocking thing to happen at Disney, but it still is majorly bumming us out. 🙁

FuelRods have been available around the Disney Parks as well as other theme parks, airports, malls, and more for the past few years.

This service is simple and convenient to use — simply pay for the initial FuelRod (at Disney they cost $30, but you can possibly find them cheaper outside the parks) and then it’s yours to keep. You’ll get the charger and cables to connect to most popular phone models and whenever the charger is dead, you simply pop it into a Fuelrod machine around the parks for FREE and get a fully charged replacement in return.

We are HUGE fans of this service and use it frequently in the parks. We never have to worry about running out of battery or having to wait for our devices to charge! But now, a dark and ominous cloud has fallen over the FuelRod machines. Just look…

A new sticker is being displayed on machines around the parks notifying that, as of November 1st, it will cost $3 to exchange a spent FuelRod for a new, charged one. NOOOO!! (pretend we said that in our best Darth Vader voices. ;))

Why!?!? 3 bucks to exchange our FuelRods?! That can add up over the course of a trip for sure if you use the service frequently like we do! We’ll keep you posted if anything changes, but for now, if you want to keep using those FuelRods, it’s gonna cost ya.

Do you use FuelRods at Disney? What do you think of these changes? Let us know in the comments!
