Tree of Life at Animal Kingdom This is where we roar about all the lastest foods, drinks, merchandise and events we’ve spotted at Disney World’s WILDEST park this week! There’s much to discuss, so let’s get started! Food Update If you’ve been following the news this week, you’ll know all about the major price increases we just saw throughout Disney World (including our beloved refillable mugs!) Animal Kingdom’s menus were no exception as you’ll soon see! Price Hikes Didn’t Have Us Dancing For Joy, But The Viva Gaia Dancers Sure Did! Multiple Locations Animal Kingdom’s popcorn carts have increased its popcorn prices from $4.69 to $4.99. Sadly we’ve seen many fan favorites foods this week such as Mickey Pretzels and Mickey Bars receive price increases across the entire resort. Discovery Island Tiffins As Disney began rolling out their new vegetarian and plant-based offerings across all of their table-service resturants at both Disney World and Disneyland, some tasty new vegetarian options found their way onto the menu at Tiffins! Tiffins While they’ve removed the Shrimp and Grits and Crispy Sadza Corn Cake with Pork Bellyfrom its printed menu (note — we haven’t seen these changes reflected on their online menu yet) Tiffins added Plant-Based Tacos for $12 with avocado and plant-based cheese on its appetizers menu. Tiffins Menu Tiffins main courses now include a North African Spiced Tofu vegetarian offering… Tiffins Menu …while the vegetarian-version of the Crispy Sadza has stayed put! Sorry all you fans of the pork belly one, but at least you can still have your corn cake (and eat it, too!) Tiffins Menu To find out more about Disney World’s new vegetarian and plant-based menu items, click here! Nomad Lounge Right next door, Nomad Lounge has added Fish Tacos to their small plates menu. Nomad Lounge We love this secluded little spot nestled away next to the busy footbridge that leads into Pandora. Nomad Lounge isn’t usually very crowded and you can order many of the same apps and cocktails available at Tiffins! Nomad Lounge Menu Stay tuned for a review from our most recent trip to Nomad Lounge — coming soon! Pizzafari What happens when you mix a pizza joint with animals you spot in the wild? You get Pizzafari — our next stop! Pizzafari We saw that Pizzafari has removed their Vegetable Pizza from its menu while they’ve added Plant Sicilian-Style Pizza Slice that comes with a Small Garden Salad. Pizzafari Menu Pizzafari’s prices have also increased. Their Tomato Basil Soup went up to $3.99 from $3.69 while Bud Light increased to $8.25 from $8, Safari Amber is up to $10 from $9.75 and Mandarin Orange Lemonade with Vodka has gone up to $11 from $9.75. Pizzafari Flame Tree Barbecue Next, we’re trekking over to Flame Tree Barbecue to see what’s happening! Flame Tree Barbecue They’ve added a plant-based Hot Link Smokehouse Sandwich served with French Fries to its menu. It also appears prices have gone up here as well! The carnivorous Smoked Pulled Pork Sandwich has gone up to $7.29 from $6.99. They’ve also increased prices on their drink menu just like Pizzafari — Safari Amber Red Lager went up to $10 from $9.75, Bud Light up to $8.25 from $8, Mandarin Orange Vodka Lemonade up to $11 from $9.75. Flame Tree Barbecue Menu We noticed while we were hanging out at Flame Tree Barbeque yesterday the Lion King Dance Party wasn’t happening, but Viva Gaia was performing again. We love their high energy! Viva Gaia Isle of Java Over at Isle of Java, we saw more price increases. Isle of Java Frozen Coke with Rum went up to $11 from $10, Mickey Pretzels up to $6.79 from $6.59, Mickey Ice Cream Bar up to $5.69 from $5.39, Island Cappuccino increased to $12 from $10.25, Party Parrot featuring Parrot Bay Coconut Rum has gone up to $12 from $10.50, and Parrotfish made with Jose Cuervo Gold Tequila went up to $13 from $11.25. Isle of Java Pandora ACE Mobile Treats Our travels are now taking us over to Pandora — The Land of Avatar! Pandora At ACE Mobile Treats we spotted the Fruits of Mo’ara Bar, Coconut Fruit Bar and Strawberry Fruit Bar have all gone up in price to $5.50 from $5.25 — looks like the banshees aren’t the only things soaring in Pandora! ACE Mobile Cart Pongu Pongu At Pongu Pongu, we were worried when we didn’t see the Pongu Lumpia listed on its menu… Pongu Pongu But a friendly Cast Member told us their menu boards were incorrect and that the Pongu Lumpia was still available! If you’ve never tried the Pongu Lumpia, you’ll probably either love it or hate it! Maybe it should be called Polarizing Lumpia, instead! Pongu Lumpia We just happen to LOVE it! Meanwhile, the Mo’ara High Country Ale and Hawkes’ Grog Ale have jumped up to $10.50 from $10.25 while the Rum Blossom and Mo’ara Margarita have gone up to $15 from $13.25. Pongu Pongu Satu’li Canteen Over at Satu’li Canteen, we saw they’ve updated their menu with plant-based logos. Satu’li Canteen This Animal Kingdom spot has always been vegetarian-friendly, offering veggie folks tons of versatility with its customizable bowls. Satu’li Canteen Satu’li Canteen’s Orlando Brewing draft beers have gone up to $9.25 from $9 and $10.50 from $10.25 while the Banshee Chardonnay and Pinot Noir are up to $11 from $10 a glass. Satu’li Canteen Africa Tamu Tamu Next, we’re trekking over to Africa where we spotted, even more, climbing prices. Tamu Tamu Tamu Tamu’s King’s Cooler has increased to $10 from $8.50, while their Dole Whip Float with Rum went up to $11 from $9.50, Dole Whip Cup with Rum up to $10 from $8.50, African Coffee up to $11 from $9.75, Safari Amber Lager went up to $10 from $9.75, and their Tusker Lager up to $9.25 from $8.75. Surprisingly enough, their Corona Light went down to $8 from $9! At least something didn’t go up, for once! Tamu Tamu Dawa Bar At Dawa Bar, the prices continued to go up… Dawa Bar We saw Dawa Bar had increased its African Margarita and Ngumu Jungle Juice up to $13 from $11.75, its Lost on Safari up to $14 from $12.75, and its Tikiti Punch up to $12 from $11. Dawa Bar But the price hikes didn’t stop there. We saw their Safari Amber Lager also went up to $10 from $9, Bud Light up to $8.25 from $8, Tusker Lager up to $9.25 from $9, Casablanca up to $9.25 from $9, Old Elephant Foot up to $10 from $9.75, Victory Monkey up to $9 from $8.75, Angry Orchard up to $8.75 from $8.50, Beyond Sauvignon up to $11 from $10, DMZ Chardonnay up to $11 from $10, Den Pinotage up to $14 from $11, and Excelsior Cabernet up to $11 from $9. One change we noticed was Opici Family Sangria has replaced Beso Del Sol Sangria. Dawa Bar Kusafiri Coffee Shop and Bakery We continued our journey in Africa over to one of our favorite coffee spots in Animal Kingdom. Kusafiri Coffee Shop and Bakery At Kusafiri Coffee Shop and Bakery, we saw Iced Coffee with Amarula Cream Liquor had gone up to $12 from $10.25, but luckily nothing else appeared to have changed. Kusafiri Menu Harambe Fruit Market At Harambe Fruit Market, we spotted the Mickey Pretzel had increased to $6.79 from $6.59. Harambe Fruit Market Asia Warung Outpost Heading over to Asia, we discovered all the frozen margaritas at Warung Outpost went up to $13 from $11.50! Warung Outpost The Shangri-La Berry Freeze had also gone up to $6 from $4.99 while Tiger Beer Asian Lager had gone up to $10.25 from $10, and Bud Light up to $8 from $7.75. As for food, their Assorted Chips went down to $2.99 from $3.49, while the Mickey Pretzel up to $6.79 from $6.59. We also noticed that Maduro Brown Ale had been removed from Warung Outpost’s menu. Warung Outpost Menu Drinkwallah At Drinkwallah, your Frozen Coke with Rum is going to cost you $11 instead of $10 now… Drinkwallah …while Coconut Lychee Lemonade went up to $11 from $9.50. Drinkwallah Thirsty River Bar and Trek Snacks Perhaps the spot most impacted by price increases at Animal Kingdom was the Thirsty River Bar and Trek Snacks. Its Dunbar Margarita went up to $13 from $11.50, Himalayan Ghost up to $13 from $11.25, Khumbu Icefall increased to $12 from $10.25, Excelsior Cabernet up to $10 from $9, Demorgenzon DMZ Chardonnay up to $11 from $10 and Victory Monkey went up to $10 from $9.75. Thirsty River Bar Also, Thirsty River Bar increased Bud Light up to $8.25 from $8, Kungaloosh Spiced Excursion Ale up to $10 from $10.25, Old Elephant Foot has gone up to $10 from $9.75, Tiger Beer increased to $10.25 from $10, Funky Buddha up to $9 from $8.75, Hitachino Nest up to $9 down to $9 from $9.50, Dragon’s Breath went up to $13 from $11.25 and its Singapore Sling up to $12 from $10.50. It also appears that Thirsty River Bar has removed McKenzie’s Black Cherry Cider and Maduro Brown Ale from its menu. Thirsty River Bar Dinoland U.S.A. Trilo-Bites At Trilo-Bites they’ve added a new piece of artwork to their exterior — a frosty-looking ice cream cone! Trilo-Bites Trilo-Bites has also added a Kona Hanalei Draft, meanwhile, prices have increased for Old Elephant Foot up to $10 from $9.75, Bud Light up to $8.25 from $8 and its Countdown Lime Margarita has gone up to $13 from $11.50. Looks like Trilo-Bites has also removed Sea Dog Sunfish from its menu. We also found this new Oreo Shake! But wait — something’s missing from the menu! The Smokey Bones Shake is gone! Looks like the over-the-top chocolate and bacon milkshake spiked with bourbon has been replaced by its cookies and cream cousin. Dino Bite Snacks sign The Mickey Pretzel went up to $6.79 from $6.59, while Bud Light up to $8.25 from $8, and Key West Sunset Ale went up to $10 from $9.75. Dino Bites Snacks Restaurantosaurus Close by, we wanted to check out our favorite species of dinosaur — Restaurantosarus! We saw that they were now serving up Chocolate and Vanilla Milk Shakes! Restaurantosaurus But they had also increased their prices. Their Margarita was now to $13 instead of $11.50, Bud Light up to $8.25 from $8, and Safari Amber went up to $10 from $9.75. Restaurantosaurus At Restaurantosaurus Lounge more prices went up! The Tequilasaurus is now $14 instead of $12.50, Primordial Booze went up to $13 from $11.50, Ferminted Fossil up to $14 from $12.50, and Carnotaurus Meteoritis up to $13 from $11.25. Restaurantosaurus Menu Restaurantosaurus Lounge has also added White Claw, Corona, Safari Amber, and Heineken to its menu, meanwhile Bud Light went up to $8 from $7.75, Old Elephant Foot up to $10 from $9.75, Chakalaka Spice Route Red Blend up to $13 from $12, Concha Y Toto Chardonnay up to $15 from $14, Berlinger Zinfandel increased to $10 from $9, Pulenta Pinot went up to $11 from $10, and Kaiken Cabernet increased to $11 from $10. Merchandise Update Dinoland Hand and Fingerprint Art Station We spotted this adorable new Hand and Fingerprint Art Station outside of Chester & Hester’s Dinosaur Treasures. Hand and Fingerprint Art Station At this new art booth, you can create one-of-a-kind pieces of art to remember your trip to Animal Kingdom! Hand and Fingerprint Art Station Riverside Depot Speaking of cute, we spotted this Fuzzy Kid’s Spirit Jersey at Riverside Depot for $49.99. It looks so cozy for fall, and we love the pastel colors!Also at Riverside Depot, we discovered they now carried the Terrifying Transformations Pins we’d reported to your earlier. They had the Bambi Vinyl Pin for $17.99… Bambi Pin … and The Sleepy Hollow Pin for $17.99 perfect for the spooky season… Sleepy Hollow Pin as well as The Wind in the Willows Pin $17.99.
