Today, we are celebrating the BIRTHDAYS of Epcot and Magic Kingdom!

Along with this celebration, we are also checking out a few changes throughout the park including price increases, the new Donut Box and Cool Wash Food and Wine booth experiences, the Epcot Experience, and Epcot Forever. And with all these BIG changes, we have spotted a few smaller additions or changes like the new Sweet Poison drink and NEW MagicBand packaging!

MagicBands have been packaged in the same manner for a while now. Typically, the band has been wrapped around a piece of plastic, creating a shape as if it were laying on a person’s wrist.

Here’s an example of the standard packaging.

While this got the job done, it made it rather difficult to see the design on the band! But now, it seems as if Disney is moving in a new direction with their MagicBand packaging!

Today, we spotted a new limited release MagicBand with new packaging at 5&10 in Hollywood Studios.

This band is being displayed in a way that allows it to lay flat, giving guests the opportunity to see the design more easily. They’re also being kept in place by twist ties instead of plastic!

There’s also more detailed information about the band and the usage of the band on the backside of the packaging.

As you can see in the background of the photo, Disney has not fully made the switch. Most of the MagicBands were still being displayed in the same manner, but we’re keeping our fingers crossed that this is a trend that will catch on.

We will keep you posted if we see more MagicBands making this packaging switch.
