We’ve already learned about Journey of Water, a Moana-inspired attraction coming to Epcot as part of the Park’s epic transformation, and One Day at Disney, a book and docu-series on Disney+ that will bring viewers and readers into the stories of Disney employees around the globe. One Day at Disney ©Disney And now we’ve got even more details about the new, original programming coming to Disney’s streaming service, Disney+. New content will be released over time, with a large variety starting November 12 when the service goes live and more added post-launch. Fair warning: your fall will be consumed with binge-watching! Disney+ World Premiere Launch Content The Mandalorian Star Wars isn’t just sticking around Galaxy’s Edge this fall; Disney+ is getting some fresh intergalactic content, too! The Mandalorian comes from Lucasfilm and will chronicle the tale of “a lone gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy” before the emergence of the First Order. High School Musical: The Series If you’re still humming “We’re All in this Together” from the original High School Musical, Disney+ is going to send you right back to class with High School Musical: The Series. Featuring an all-new cast, the 10-episode series will follow students as they prepare for their school’s production of “High School Musical.” The scripted series is set at real-life East High — recognizable as the filming location for the original movie! High School Musical: The Series Lady and the Tramp Beloved Disney classic Lady and the Tramp is getting the live-action treatment with a brand new film premiering on Disney+ on November 12. This story will be a re-telling of the original 1955 animated film — complete with adorable pups Rose (playing “Lady”) and Monty (playing “Tramp”). Get the tissues ready for this one! Lady and the Tramp Noelle Christmas comes early when Anna Kendrick and Billy Eichner join forces to bring Noelle to the little screen. Kendrick plays Noelle, the daughter of Santa himself, who must embark on an adventure to find her brother, Nick, the heir to the sleigh who’s cracking under the pressure of his inheritance: the role of Santa Claus. The World According to Jeff Goldblum Jeff Goldblum is the incomparable star of Jurassic Park, Independence Day, and Marvel’s Thor: Ragnorak — and now he’s bringing his trademark charm to The World According to Jeff Goldblum. This series comes from National Geographic and gives viewers a glimpse into the mind of Goldblum where, according to Disney, “nothing is as it seems.” Encore Princess Anna herself, Kristen Bell, brings the unscripted series Encore to Disney+ as Executive Producer. Encore reunites former classmates to recreate musicals from their high school years. This series is sure to be full of feels — and plenty of great tunes! Forky Asks a Question Breakout star of Toy Story 4, Forky, comes to Disney+ in a series of Pixar shorts called Forky Asks a Question. Tony Hale is back to voice the toy/trash as he ponders questions like “What is love?” and “What is time?” We’re glad you asked, Forky, and we’ll be tuning in for the answers! Forky Asks a Question Disney+ Post-Launch Originals Disney+ will also launch several original titles after the service launches. These series and films will have bespoke start dates, so keep watching for those start dates! Togo This original film will tell the true story of a 1925 dogsled journey to transport life-saving serum over 700 wintery miles in Alaska! Togo will star Willem Dafoe (and, we assume, adorable and powerful dogs). The film will debut in December. Diary of a Female President This half-hour, single-camera comedy tells the story of a young Cuban-American girl who eventually becomes President of the United States — and it does so through her childhood diary. Gina Rodriguez is Executive Producer of the series and will guest star alongside the show’s star, Tess Romero. The series will debut in January. Star Wars: The Clone Wars The latest season of the animated Star Wars: The Clone Wars will debut on Disney+ in February 2020. The season will feature 12 episodes and bring back characters Obi-Wan Kenobi, Ahsoka Tano, Captain Rex, and Anakin Skywalker. Clone Wars coming to Disney+ in February 2020 Timmy Failure: Mistakes Were Made The film Timmy Failure: Mistakes Were Made is based on the best-selling book series of the same name and brings the funny as Timmy Failure and his polar bear sidekick, Total, run Total Failure Inc. That’s a fictional, animated, Portland-based detective agency, in case you were looking for one. The film will debut in early-2020. Stargirl Based on the young adult book by Jerry Spinelli, Stargirl is a coming-of-age story and stars America’s Got Talent winner Grace VanderWaal and Graham Verchere. The film will debut in early-2020. The Falcon and The Winter Soldier Marvel Studios-produced The Falcon and The Winter Soldier will star Emily VanCamp in her role as Sharon Carter and Marvel universe newcomer Wyatt Russell as John Walker. The film will launch sometime in 2020. Monsters at Work Ben Feldman and Aisha Tyler join Billy Crystal and John Goodman (in special appearances) for Monsters at Work. The series, a spin-off of the Monsters, Inc., franchise, will follow Tylor and Millie as they navigate life in Monstropolis! Disney didn’t provide a launch date for this one, but we’re going to be stepping over the line in excitement when it joins Disney+! Titles for 2021 The Disney+ presentation also included a few titles that won’t launch until 2021. Marvel Studios will produce two live-action series — WandaVision and Loki — and one animated series — What If… . Lucasfilm is bringing to Disney+ an as-yet-unnamed live-action series starring Diego Luna and Alan Tudyk from Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. Are you as ready as we are for Disney+ to go live?
