MORE Presentations Announced for D23 Expo 2019!

Holy moly! The D23 Expo news is droppin’ like it’s hot lately!

Not only will guests be able to preview Disney+, but they will also be able to check out presentations from Lucasfilm and National Geographic. Celebrities from shows like Dancing with the Stars, black-ish, and Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D will also be present. Now, Disney has announced even MORE panels!

Take a look at some of the experiences heading to the stages and show floor of D23 Expo 2019:

Mousequerade—Presented by Raw Threads

The Mousequerade costume competition will be returning to the D23 Expo. Judges will include Ashley Eckstein, Yvette Brown, and Jennifer Leonard. The competition will be hosted by Jim Babcock. The Disney-inspired designs will be competing to win $2,300!! This will take place on August 23rd at 11:00 AM on Stage 28.

Vader Immortal: A Star Wars VR SeriesEpisode II First Look

There will also be a presentation on Vader Immortal: A Star Wars VR Series. According to Disney, this series let “you become the hero of your own personal adventure as you step into the role of a Force-sensitive smuggler recruited by Darth Vader himself.” Director Ben Snow, Senior Experience Designer Jose Perez III, and Lucasfilm Story Group Creative Executive Matt Martin will have an in-depth discussion about the upcoming second episode! This will include a sneak peek only available to D23 Expo attendees. This will take place on August 23rd at 2:00 PM on Stage 28.

A Musical Celebration of Aladdin

According to Disney, Scott Weinger and Linda Larkin…aka Aladdin and Jasmine…will “take us on a musical-magic-carpet ride through your favorite tines from Aladdin.” Other special guests will include Brad Kane (who portrayed Aladdin’s singing voice), Deedee Magno Hall, Lillias White. and Norm Lewis. You can soar with the Aladdin stars on August 24th at 5:30 PM in the D23 Expo Arena.

Heroines of the Disney Galaxies—Presented by BoxLunch

Ashley Eckstein, Sana Amanat, Ally Maki, and Christy Carlson Romano will also take to the stage during D23 “for a celebration of some of the most inspiring and empowered heroines” from Disney, Marvel, and Lucasfilm. This heroic celebration will take place on August 25th at 10:00 AM on Stage 28th.

Disney Character Voices, Inc: The 30th Anniversary Celebration

During the Disney Character Voices panel, guests will hear and learn from the voices behind some of our favorite Disney characters. Guests include Tony Anselmo (Donald Duck), Jodi Benson (Ariel), Bill Farmer (Goofy and Pluto), Bret Iwan (Mickey Mouse), and Linda Larkin (Jasmine). This will take place on August 25th at 3:00 PM in the D23 Expo Arena.

Two Worlds, One Family: The Making of Tarzan

Get a behind-the-scenes look from the creators of Tarzan on how the film came to life. Twenty years after the film hit the silver screen, creators and animators like Chris Buck, Kevin Lima, Bruce W. Smith, Ken Duncan, Glen Keana, and Bonnie Arnold will take to the stage. See all of these guests and more on August 25th at 5:30 PM in the D23 Expo Arena.

The Art of Disney Storytelling

Disney Legends Tony Baxter and Floyd Norman along with Paul Briggs (the head of story for Big Hero 6 and Frozen) and producer Don Hahn will take to the stage to chat about Walt Disney’s impact on their careers! You can hear all of this and more on August 25th at 6:00 PM on Stage 28.

Inside the World of Avatar

Guests will also be able to see the world of Avatar come to life through props, costumes, and models. Here, guests can also take a look at the making of Pandora — The World of Avatar in Disney’s Animal Kingdom. You can find this incredible exhibit on the second floor of the Anaheim Convention Center.

Walt Disney Archives Stage

The Walt Disney Archives stage is also returning to the D23 Expo. The stage will host 16 panels and presentations during the weekend. These will be hosted by people like Bill Farmer, J.B. Kaufman, Kevin Kidney & Jody Daily, Becky Cline, Bob Weis, Daniel Jue, Kevin Rafferty, and more! According to Disney, “Fans will enjoy exploring many of Disney’s worlds, from holiday magic in the Disney Parks and secrets of Walt Disney’s Fun and Fancy Free to a celebration of 50 years of Haunted Mansion collectibles” and a preview of the final book by Imagineer Marty Sklar.

Center Stage

K-pop star Tiffany Young is going to celebrate her new single and upcoming music video at the Center Stage presentation. Radio Disney Presents is also going to bring in talent including Meg Donnelly and Asher Angel. A few Disney on Broadway stars will also stop by to share and reminisce about their stage shows. Disney has also announced that Bill Rogers who is the “voice of Disneyland” will be back to “record fans’ outgoing voicemail messages in his signature dulcet tones.” The Center Stage Presentation will take place throughout the weekend in Hall A.

D23 Expo’s Ultimate Fan Street Party – Presented by Alamo

The D23 Expo Street Party is also returning. Expect to see the cavalcade dance its way down Mickey Avenue twice daily. The show will include a live band, Disney pals, dancers, and celebrity grand marshals. And in celebration of the 40th anniversary of the Mickey Mouse Disco album, Mickey, Minnie, and a few others will be dressed in their best disco gear. Kenny Ortega and Tom Bergeron will lead the parade on August 23rd at 4:30 PM. And Peyton Elizabeth Lee and Skylar Astin will lead on August 24th at 2:00 PM
