And HERE’s a blast from the past!! Who remembers our FIRST review of an elephant cupcake on Disney Food Blog? Way back in 2012 we reviewed this awesome german chocolate cake version of the elephant cupcake.

But times have changed, and now the SAME elephant is back…with a very sweet surprise!

The Elephant Cupcake at Creature Comforts and Restaurantosaurus in Disney’s Animal Kingdom could even make Dumbo flap his ears with excitement!

Up Close and Personal with an Elephant!

The yellow cake is topped with thick blue and green icing, showcasing our white chocolate elephant buddy resting in the water and grass. But here’s the best part — the filling inside is a creamy chocolate chip cookie dough that is DELIGHTFUL!

Inside the Cupcake

We have to get real: the chocolate chip cookie dough filling and the white chocolate on this cupcake are incredible. While they’re two opposite flavors, they blend together so well. After we finished them, we couldn’t help but want more!

The yellow cake is very light and fluffy — actually, it’s so light that the icing made the entire cupcake overly top-heavy. As soon as we cut into it, the Elephant Cupcake fell right over. Maybe a little extra filling would have balanced it more (we just want more cookie dough).
