Disney4me
Since the announcement of the live-action Mulan film, we have been anxiously waiting to see the Girl Worth Fighting For on the big screen! And, now finally we can see a glimpse into her Reflection! The Official Mulan Poster ©Walt Disney Studios Debuting TODAY during halftime of the Women’s World Cup, Walt Disney Studios released the first teaser trailer of the film being released March 27th, 2020. Clocking in at 1 minute and 29 seconds, there is already enough action to keep us on our toes for the premiere! Closely following the original narrative poem, “The Ballad of Mulan,” the live-action Mulan film will follow the heroine as she tries to bring honor to her family and stay true to herself — all while saving her country. Disney has stated that the plot revolves around Hua Mulan as she takes her father’s place in the Imperial Army, after the Emperor of China decrees that one man in each family must serve in the war to defend China from Northern invaders. Despite her parents wanting her to marry whoever the Matchmaker provides for her, Mulan runs away from home and poses as a man, Hua Jun, in the army. While she risks everything she has to fight for her country, she also gains something new and beautiful in the process. Directed by Niki Caro, the star-studded cast includes Yifei Liu as Mulan, Donnie Yen as Commander Tung, Jason Scott Lee as Böri Khan, Jet Li as the Emperor, and more. While “the flower that blooms in adversity is the most rare and beautiful of all,” it’s obvious that Mulan is an extremely strong female protagonist and warrior. Are you as excited as we are to see Mulan defend China in the new film?
