Intermission Food Court at All-Star Music is a pretty stereotypical Disney World resort food court…but we’re excited about a few NEW and unique dishes!

You’ll find several stations serving up favorite eats like chicken nuggets, pizza, and pasta. But now guests staying at the resort (or visiting the resort) can dig into something a little different: Entree Bowls. These bowls come in four varieties: Asian, Greek, Southwest, and Plant-Based.

But even more exciting is the Create Your Own Bowl option, which opens a world of possibilities for diners!

On our visit, we tried two of the new bowls: Asian and Southwest. The results were… mixed.

Southwest Bowl and Asian Bowl

Southwest Bowl and Asian Bowl

First up, we will focus on the positive: the Asian Bowl. This was surprisingly good — especially considering it came from a food court! It was colorful and vibrant. Basically you know you’re about to get something energizing and special just by looking at it.

Toppings include Poke Tuna, Sriracha Chickpeas, Red Peppers, Snap Peas, Edamame, and Bok Choy. The dressing is Soy Ginger. These are all served on a bed of white rice. The flavors and textures work together really well, and those Sriracha Chickpeas are a dynamite addition!

The only complaint we have is that the quantity of food in the Asian Bowl is noticeably less than the amount we received in the Southwest Bowl. But the quality here is phenomenal. You don’t feel like you’re eating counter service with the Asian Bowl.

And the tuna? Shockingly good!

Now, the Southwest Bowl — which we imagine will be a big hit with guests based on the name alone — was a big disappointment. The serving size is good, we’ll give it that. But the star of the show, the Beef Crumble, was awful.

Southwest Bowl

This bowl is served on a bed of greens, and there’s a heaping helping of soggy, flavorless meat. Plus, I mean, look at it. It looks terrible. Beyond unpleasant to eat.

The other toppings include Tomatoes, Roasted Red Peppers, Fried Onions, and Sriracha Dressing. Aside from the dressing, the other toppings are fine. But there’s nothing interesting or surprising here.

And unfortunately, the Sriracha Dressing was bland. How? How can something with the word Sriracha in it be bland? And yet — it was. It added nothing but vague creaminess to the Southwest Bowl.

So a bit of a mixed review, but we are really glad to see some unique new options — particularly the Create-Your-Own Bowl, which allows guests to choose a base, any toppings they want, and a dressing. So you can try something new if you’re a little adventurous or stick to old favorites if you’re not.

But seriously, unless they make some dramatic changes to the Southwest Bowl, we say go for something else.
