Disney4me
Lon Smart, a Creative Concept Artist for Disney Parks, has a very cool job this time of year. He gets to design a lot of the pumpkins you see on Main Street, U.S.A., at Magic Kingdom Park during Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. We recently visited with Lon to get some of his go-to carving tricks, which include: using a dry erase marker to draw (and easily erase mistakes) on your pumpkin, choosing items like bike lights or glow sticks to light a pumpkin, and giving a pumpkin extra character by adding paint or accessories. Check out more of his tips below.Lon also shared some downloadable templates you can cut out and use to create your own expressive pumpkin. Check those out below.Be sure to check out the terms of use before you download it.
