Hold up — Disney just dropped some MAJOR sneak peeks, and we are not okay.

Coming to Frontierland at Magic Kingdom, a new area themed to Pixar Animation Studios’ “Cars” will leave Radiator Springs and head to the wilderness with two new attractions including an off-road race.

We’re talking brand new lands, upgraded rides, and a nighttime parade that has our inner 10-year-old screaming. Concept art has been flying out of Disney like pixie dust lately, and we’ve been analyzing every detail (so you don’t have to). Here’s a quick breakdown of the four biggest reveals Disney just shared about what’s coming soon to the parks — and trust us, you’re gonna want to see this.

Planning guide for the ultimate Disney vacation

A Cars-themed Land Is Hitting Magic Kingdom

Disney announced that the brand-new Cars-themed land coming to Magic Kingdom will be called Piston Peak, and the concept art is packed with juicy details. This isn’t just a Radiator Springs copy-paste — it’s a whole wilderness-themed expansion with two new attractions, a river, and enough nods to the OG Frontierland to keep the theming purists happy.

The map is full of hidden gems. Like Rainbow Geysers from an old Disneyland concept, a barrel bridge that screams Tom Sawyer Island nostalgia, and even a mountain that looks like a mashup of a sequoia and Disneyland’s petrified tree. Oh, and the water from Tiana’s Bayou Adventure looks like it connects to Piston Peak, which could mean a more seamless transition between lands, which we love to see.

Also, shoutout to Ranger J. Autobahn Woodlore — a punny tribute to the classic Disney cartoon ranger. That’s the kind of deep cut we live for.

Disney even seems to be keeping the Rivers of America boardwalk (major win), and possibly the Liberty Square Riverboat loading dock. Sightlines have been a big deal in the planning of this land, and it shows — this expansion blends into Frontierland with a vintage National Park aesthetic that somehow makes Cars in the Old West…make sense?

Bottom line: This isn’t just a random IP drop. It’s clever, it’s creative, and it’s bringing some seriously fresh energy to Magic Kingdom.

Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run Is Getting a Whole New Mission

If you’ve been skipping Smugglers Run lately, it’s time to rethink your priorities — because Disney just confirmed that a brand new storyline is coming to the ride in 2026. And yes, The Mandalorian and Grogu are involved.

The updated mission will let YOU and your crew choose your destination — like actually pick where you want to go. We’re talking Bespin, Tatooine, the ruins of the Death Star, Coruscant, Beggar’s Canyon, and more.

This isn’t just a couple of new scenes — it’s a full refresh that turns the experience into something way more customizable.

One piece of concept art shows a Starspeeder from Star Tours casually parked in Cloud City, which means these ride storylines might be more connected than we thought. (Cue the Star Wars nerd meltdown.)

As for the story, Hondo Ohnaka is back and recruiting you to “borrow” the Falcon to help the Mandalorian capture some ex-Imperials making shady deals on Tatooine. Bonus: The engineer position is now elite, because they’ll be communicating with Grogu. Yep, Grogu. Probably just requesting more frogs, but still.

Whether you’re into chasing pirates or flying through Death Star wreckage, this upgrade is shaping up to be a must-do.

Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin Is Getting a Glow-Up

Disney confirmed that Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin is getting new ride vehicles, an updated scene, better gameplay, and a fresh sidekick named Buddy (adorable).

The new vehicles are inspired by Buzz’s Star Command color palette and loaded with video monitors that show off real-time scores and other gameplay updates. Basically, it’s about to feel a lot more like a modern video game than a clunky ‘90s arcade shooter.

And the biggest upgrade has to be the HANDHELD BLASTERS. That’s right—no more awkwardly twisting that fixed cannon into position while your arm cramps. These new ones are always-on lasers and come in two colors, so you can flex your score and aim precision.

The ride will close in August 2025 and reopen sometime in 2026, so get your rides in now if you want one last go at the OG version.

A Brand New Nighttime Parade Is Coming to Magic Kingdom

It’s been YEARS since Magic Kingdom had a new nighttime parade, and finally, Disney is delivering. Starting July 20, 2025, we’re getting a full-blown glow-up called Disney Starlight: Dream the Night Away—and the concept art has us so excited.

The parade kicks off with the Blue Fairy lighting up the sky, inviting everyone to “wish upon a star.” From there, it’s a nonstop lineup of iconic characters and scenes:

And the grand finale will see Mickey, Minnie, and Goofy in brand new Starlight costumes, cruising by on a float that’s clearly inspired by the Main Street Electrical Parade. Nostalgia meets new-era Disney in a BIG way.
