Disney4me
There are so many hidden experiences and special events around Disney World property that so many people aren’t even aware of! Villa de Lago at Saratoga Springs Resort One of our absolute favorites is over at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort, which is an underrated resort in our opinion, in general, but there’s an offering here that flies under the radar, and we won’t stand for it anymore. You can attend Sangria University for UNDER $70 and not only get to drink tons of sangria, but learn how to make your own too! Sangria University happens at Three Bridges Bar & Grill at Villa Del Lago, and there are typically two classes going on at once, one on either side of the restaurant. When you first arrive, you’ll see a large Dasani water at your spot that you’ll 100% want to drink all of (you’ll understand why later), as well as a mixer for your drink, and finally chips and guacamole. Then it was time to learn about our Sangria flight! Our spot! This Sangria Flight comes with four of the restaurant’s house-made Sangrias — Cava (Sparkling) BlackBerry, Macabeo (White) which tasted like tart Lemon to us, Rosé (which was the sweetest and had the most alcohol), and Garnacha (Traditional Red). Sangria Flight While we tried them, our incredible Cast Member guide chatted with us about Sangria at the 1964-1965 World’s Fair and how, believe it or not, that event was actually what introduced the world TO Sangria! What a unique connection between Walt Disney, his attractions at the 1964-1965 World’s Fair, and Sangria — now they’re all combined in ONE area of Disney World! We learned so much! Remember how we said you’ll want to drink that whole water? Because not only do you try all four of those decently-sized Sangria tasting, but then it’s time to make your OWN! We learned that Sangria always needs three ingredients: wine, juice, and liquor. When it came to making our own, we could choose between Sparkling, White, Rosé, or Red for our wine, and then Triple sec, Apricot brandy, or Peach schnapps for the liquor. As for the juice, you can choose between 24 different options, which you can see listed below. While you are able to add in additional ingredients, those will cost extra, so that’s something to keep in mind! So many options! We decided to create ours with White Wine, Triple sec, POG Juice, and a piece of pineapple, and we weren’t disappointed! It was fruity and sweet, which is exactly what we loved. Time to mix! The whole experience takes about two hours and costs between $69-$79 depending on the demand during that time of year. The first half hour is sangria history and tasting the flight, then it takes a little while to get everyone’s custom orders in. Before long though, everyone will get their custom orders back, and you’ll spend time mixing it all and enjoying the moment. At the very end, you’ll get your diploma, and there’s a photo op you can take advantage of too! Our diploma! We think this is a must do for anyone who loves sangria and/or is looking for a great, unique experience that isn’t found many other places when you’re on vacation. It’s also something you can easily do on your own! We weren’t the only ones by ourselves, and everyone was so kind and friendly, we don’t think anyone will feel awkward. Such a great experience!
