I Ate at the FANCIEST Restaurant Disney Fans Dream About — 5 Things Impressed Me the Most

I dropped a small fortune on a Disney dinner…and honestly? I’d do it again in a heartbeat.

It’s Fancy Dinner Time

This wasn’t just any Disney restaurant. This was Victoria & Albert’s Chef’s Table — the ultra-exclusive, AAA Five-Diamond fine dining experience that’s basically the holy grail of Disney foodie dreams. After months of planning, we scored one of the most coveted reservations in all of Disney World — and after multiple unforgettable courses, these are the five things that impressed me the most.

Planning guide for the ultimate Disney vacation

Ultra-Exclusive, Bucket-List-Level Access

Victoria & Albert’s Chef Table isn’t just hard to get into. It’s almost impossible.

Victoria and Albert’s Chef’s Table Only Has One Seating Per Night

Reservations open 60 days in advance (or 60 days + your resort stay, if you’re on property), but even then, you won’t find this one on the Disney website or app. Nope. You’ve got to call — like, actually speak to a real human being. It’s the most analog thing about Disney dining, and that’s saying something.

Chef’s Table Experience

The Chef’s Table only seats one party of up to 8 for each of the two nightly seatings (5:30PM or 8:05PM, Tuesday through Saturday). So yeah, this isn’t something you book casually. But if you manage to lock it in? It’s a Disney brag like no other.

A Front-Row View into a Real Working Kitchen

Most Disney restaurants are themed to feel like you’re backstage. At the Chef’s Table, you actually are.

Watch a working kitchen

After checking in, we were escorted through the Dining Room and into the heart of the kitchen, where a full brigade of chefs literally stopped what they were doing to applaud our arrival. No joke. A maître d’ formally announced our entrance, and it felt like stepping into a royal court.

It can get really busy in the kitchen

From our seats, we watched as dishes were plated with tweezers and liquid nitrogen was poured like stage fog. Chefs would come over to describe the courses they’d just finished preparing. It was like a backstage tour and dinner show all in one.

THE infamous Chef’s Table

Oh, and if you need to leave the table during dinner? You get an escort — yes, through the kitchen — to make sure you don’t trip over anyone’s foie gras.

Menus That Are Completely Tailored to YOU

Before our reservation, the restaurant reached out to confirm dietary restrictions and celebrations. I told them it was my birthday and that I didn’t eat shellfish. That’s it. But from the moment we sat down, it was clear they’d remembered.

Personalized Menu

My husband’s menu featured dishes like crab and lobster, while mine was 100% shellfish-free — but every course was equally stunning and flavorful. At the end of the meal, they even surprised me with a delicate pastry presentation to mark my birthday. No singing, no button, no fuss — just elegance.

Food That Was Actually Worth the Hype

I’ve eaten at a lot of Disney restaurants over the years. Some good, some forgettable. This? This was a different universe.

Amuse Bouche trio

We started with an amuse bouche trio — a sweet potato with lomo ibérico and a persimmon glaze, followed by a panisse on plantain purée, and finished with a Venison Carpaccio, Red Cabbage, and Rutabaga. All gone quickly, but each one told its own story.

Venison Carpaccio

We moved through course after course: Royal Belgian Caviar, Koji-aged Quail, A5 Wagyu beef, a playful “Reuben” pastrami bite. Each plate felt like a piece of art, and somehow, we weren’t full — just ready for more.

Koji-Aged Quail

Dessert was another event entirely. Raspberry Bakewell tarts, pomegranate pâte de fruit, balsamic fig ganache, and gingerbread madeleines appeared like magic.

Service That Made Us Feel Like Disney Royalty

From the second we pulled up to valet, it was clear this wasn’t just a dinner — it was a full-on experience. The staff remembered our names, refilled our water without us noticing, and made us feel like this was our restaurant for the night.

The service is impeccable

Chef de Cuisine Matthew Sowers runs the show, but even if he’s not there on your night, the team’s precision and passion is unmistakable. Ours was led by Chef Miguel, and everything that came from his side of the kitchen was flawless.

Final Thoughts

Victoria & Albert’s Chef’s Table isn’t for every Disney trip. It’s expensive. It’s hard to get. And it’s not something you walk into without planning.

But if you’re looking for a once-in-a-lifetime experience — something that feels like a special occasion all by itself — it delivers. Every second, every course, every interaction was intentional and extraordinary.
