Disney4me Posted yesterday at 02:39 PM Report Share Posted yesterday at 02:39 PM It’s a bird! It’s a plane! It’s THE MUPPETS! The Muppets This year is the 70th anniversary of The Muppets (and the 70th anniversary of Disneyland, too) and we’ve been loving our last trips to MuppetVision and eating at PizzaRizzo but only true Muppet fans will appreciate this new decoration at Disney World. The Muppets have now taken to the sky and have their own gondola design on the Skyliner! The Muppets!!!! On the side, Kermit has his banjo and is probably singing “The Rainbow Connection” with a bit rainbow overhead that looks like the one at the end of The Muppet Movie. One longer side has Fozzy, Miss Piggy, and Sam Eagle on it, with Miss Piggy looking as fabulous as ever. Fozzy, Miss Piggy, and Sam Eagle Even Statler and Waldorf joined the party and look ready to heckle everyone below! Do you think they’re heckling? We love the accents of the red curtains and columns behind the characters which pay homage to the original The Muppet Show while still reminding us of MuppetVision (which we won’t spend too much time talking about because we’ll start crying about how we won’t get to see Sweetums running through room again). Muppet*Vision 3D If you’re planning your 2026 Disney World trip, don’t forget that all routes of the Skyliner will be closed from January 25th to 31st, so you’ll want to plan for different transportation for your trip. Skyliner Over at Disneyland, a new World of Color show, World of Color Happiness for Disneyland’s 70th Anniversary Celebration, will feature more than a dozen muppets delivering a message before the show starts. ©Disney The Muppets are also heading over to Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster in Hollywood Studios to give it an Electric Mayhem twist. We don’t have any dates for the closure of the original ride or the opening of the new one but we’re ready for The Muppets to “team up with music’s biggest stars for a rockin’ music festival.” ©Disney The Muppets are releasing a new magnet featuring a Muppet friend for 70 weeks throughout the celebration! Kermit is the most recently released magnet but we’ve seen Rizzo, Animal, Swedish Chef, and even more obsure Muppets like Muppet Tomato and Muppet Ghosts. You can grab these magnets at the D-Tech on Demand locations at Marketplace Co-Op in Disney Springs or at the Tomorrowland Launch Depot by Space Mountain. View this post on Instagram We’ll keep saying waka waka and moving right along, but we love these new wraps on the Skyliner, and next time we ride, we’ll be crossing our fingers that we get to ride in it.
