Disney4me Posted yesterday at 05:29 PM Report Share Posted yesterday at 05:29 PM Typhoon Lagoon is BACK! This Disney World water park officially reopened on May 1st, 2025, after being closed for refurbishment since November 2024. Of course, we were there on its opening day to check everything out — and try LOTS of food! Typhoon Lagoon We had some fun in the sun while trying various food items at Typhoon Lagoon. From Pork Elote Nachos to a Dole Whip Bathtub Sundae, we are rounding up everything we tried and letting you know if it is worth your money at Typhoon Lagoon or not! Typhoon Lagoon is one of two water parks at Disney World. The other water park is Blizzard Beach. In the past few years, they have been switching off being open. While Blizzard Beach is closed for refurbishment, something VERY exciting is happening on May 21st. Beginning May 21st, BOTH Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach will be open at the same time through September 7th, 2025. Typhoon Lagoon However, we are here to talk about the FOOD at Typhoon Lagoon, so let’s dive in! To start, we are heading over to Lowtide Lou’s to try the Barbecue Chicken Wrap for $9.79. This wrap is a grab and go situation, so it is prepared ahead of time and sitting on ice ready to be picked up. Barbecue Chicken Wrap Overall, it is about what you would expect from a grab and go wrap. The chicken was fried chicken strips that were crispy. There was also some lettuce inside the wrap, and it was topped with a sweet and tangy barbecue sauce. The sauce is definitely on the sweeter side, but it still has a bit of barbecue twang. This wasn’t anything special, but if you are looking for something that is quick to grab and you can walk with, this could be a great option. However, we think there are better options that are just a few dollars more, and provide a more well rounded meal. Barbecue Chicken Wrap Next up, we are headed to the Snack Shack to grab an ICONIC treat: the Dole Whip Bathtub Sundae. You can grab this treat for $15.99, and it is actually served in a mini bathtub! This sundae is made with Dole Whip pineapple, strawberry, and orange. Dole Whip Bathtub Sundae We think this is such a fun treat, but fair warning that it is just Dole Whip and popping boba pearls, so it isn’t like a decadent sundae with whipped cream, cherries, and sauce. However, it is a surprisingly fun way to enjoy some Dole Whip, and the sundae features three different flavors: pineapple, strawberry, and orange. Plus, you also get a small souvenir bathtub to take home with you. Dole Whip Bathtub Sundae Now, let’s make our way over to Hammerhead Fred’s Bait Shop to try the Captain’s Mai Tai for $16.50. The drink is made with Captain Morgan Original Spiced Rum, Bols Amaretto Liqueur, and tropical juices, tipped with a float of Myer’s Original Dark Rum. Captain’s Mai Tai You will definitely want to be a rum drinker to enjoy this Mai Tai. It is heavy on the rum flavor, especially with the float of dark rum on top. Plus, the spiced rum in the drink is a strong flavor. The spices from the rum make this drink taste like Christmas in your mouth. We also tasted lots of pineapple flavor in this one, but this drink is not for the faint of heart. It is a strong one, with lots of rum flavor! Captain’s Mai Tai We aren’t done yet, though! Next, we headed over to Happy Landings Ice Cream to grab the Pineapple Upside-down Cone for $6.99. This treat features Dole Whip pineapple and vanilla soft-serve, caramel sauce, vanilla cake, caramelized pineapple, and a cherry served under a white chocolate-dipped cone. Pineapple Upside-down Cone This is an inventive take on the pineapple upside-down cake, and we really enjoyed it. The cone wasn’t entirely necessary, but it does add some visual appeal with the green sprinkles on it. The treat has caramel sauce on the bottom with pineapple tidbits that have a little extra juice to them. Combined with the vanilla cake and pineapple and vanilla soft serve, this really does taste like a pineapple upside-down cake. Pineapple Upside-down Cone Let’s keep the Typhoon Lagoon party going with a stop at Leaning Palms for some Pork Elote Nachos. You can get these for $12.49. These nachos contain roasted pork over nacho chips with elote cheese sauce, guacamole, sour cream, roasted corn, jalapeños, and Pico de Gallo. While these nachos were enjoyable, they weren’t anything that knocked our socks off and we would likely try something else next time. Pork Elote Nachos They are on the heavier side, which could be a great option if you have been swimming all day and really need some fuel. It is also definitely possible to share these with someone else! The nachos are made with the fiesta style tortilla chips that are different colors, and we did get the elote flavor they were going for with the toppings. One big advantage of Leaning Palms and Typhoon Tilly’s is that you can place a Mobile Order and skip having to stand in line! Pork Elote Nachos Finally, we are rounding out our food adventure with a stop at Typhoon Tilly’s for the Tropical Salad. This salad costs $9.99 and features assorted greens with tomatoes, cucumber, mango, pineapple, red pepper hummus, and chickpeas served with tropical vinaigrette. Tropical Salad We were definitely getting the tropical flavors from this salad! The fresh pineapple and mango, along with the mango vinaigrette were wonderful. Plus, you also get a look of other fresh veggies including tomatoes and cucumbers. You can also get this salad with chicken if you are looking to make it a bit heftier of a meal, but overall, we really enjoyed this salad. It was filling without feeling heavy, and we loved the tropical flavors. Tropical Salad Overall, we had a great day of trying some of the food at Typhoon Lagoon. Our favorites included the Pineapple Upside-down Cone, Tropical Salad, and Captain’s Mai Tai. And it is also pretty hard to beat eating Dole Whip from a bathtub. We are super excited that Typhoon Lagoon is open again, and soon BOTH water parks will be open at the same time.
