Disney has made ambitious strides over the past few years in continuing to add value to its streaming service. With Disney making good on their promises to crack down on password sharing and adding options for bundles with other popular brands like Hulu, MAX, and ESPN, we’re learning quickly that Disney+ and its success appear to be a huge focus for the company. Soon, though, an annual event could give us even more clues as to other changes that could be coming for Disney+ in the near future.

Planning guide for the ultimate Disney vacation

Deadline recently reported that a huge event is underway in New York, and it could have a lasting effect on some of Disney’s media services. This annual springtime event, known as Upfronts and its more recently formed NewFront, kicks off its preliminary events in April and continues into May each year. This entire event is designed to allow the “glitzy pitches” from media companies looking for press attention and to capture advertiser interest.

So far, Upfronts has already started their lineup with a host of happenings, but the bulk of its main events will fall between May 5th through May 14th. In years past, we’ve seen notable companies like Amazon Prime Video, Netflix, CBS, Paramount, and Viacom all take the stage for elaborate pitches, hoping to catch the eye of ad investors who share their companies’ visions. However, under economic uncertainty and recent tariffs implemented in the U.S., we might see more of these big industry names consider tapering down their ad pitches and strategies in favor of simpler presentations and client dinners.

Some of these bigger names stepping out of the spotlight have paved the way for up-and-coming companies that might not have gotten the opportunity otherwise. All of that to say that we could see some smoking hot attention on sizzle reels during these presentations, highlighting the best of what each company has to offer its potential buyers, which could lead to a few clues of where they’re headed soon, like The Walt Disney Company.

If you’re curious as to how the lineup will fall for the upcoming heavy hitters, let’s take a closer look. Interestingly, Disney is scheduled to present on May 13th at 4 PM, which is a full day behind NBCUniversal, FOX, and Amazon, as well as just before the tech giants of Warner Bros., Netflix, and YouTube Brandcast, all of which will conclude the event.

We’re eager to see what we might learn from Disney’s pitch to potential ad buyers for its streaming platform (it’s actually how we learned season 2 of Loki was on its way early on), and see just how they plan to outshine competing companies.
