Walt Disney World is offering discounted theme park tickets to Florida residents through the summer and into late September.  The four-day Summer Magic Ticket goes on sale Tuesday and averages out to be $60 a day.

The ticket is valid from May 18 through Sept. 27.  There are no block-out dates, but park reservations are required. The park visits can be on non-consecutive days.

The base four-day ticket, which sells for $240, is good for a single park per day, although a park-hopper option — allowing movement between Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Disney’s Animal Kingdom — can be added for $40 per ticket. There also are optional add-ons for water parks, golf courses and miniature golf courses.

Disney also is offering three-day and two-day versions of the ticket for $225 and $210, respectively.

Adult ticket holders are required to show proof of Florida residency at the theme park entrance.

The summer ticket serves as a continuation of an existing Disney deal that has run from mid-January through May 23.

Upcoming summer developments at Disney World parks include the debut of two stage shows — “Disney Villains: Unfairly Ever After” and “The Little Mermaid — A Musical Adventure” — debut at Hollywood Studios on May 27.  Epcot’s GEO-82, a lounge inside Spaceship Earth, opens June 4, and the updated version of the park’s Test Track attraction is expected to roll out in late summer. A new nighttime parade called “Disney Starlight: Dream the Night Away” is scheduled for a summer debut, but an opening date has not been announced.

Disney also is rolling out smaller events in the parks under the Cool Kids Summer theme, including Goofy interactions at Epcot’s CommuniCore Hall and new activities at Rafiki’s Planet Watch at Animal Kingdom. They’ll be in place May 27 through September 1.
