Disney4me
FINALLY! Disney World just made it much easier to visit three of the resort’s most in-demand locations. Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort lobby Earlier this week, rumors began to swirl that Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort would be altering its parking policy to allow non-resort guests to park in the hotel’s main parking lot if they were dining at spots that do NOT require a reservation after 2 PM. In the past, Disney has been VERY strict about its parking rules at the hotels close to Magic Kingdom, so if true, this would be a MAJOR game-changer. So, we went to investigate! On our recent visit to Disney World, we stopped by the Polynesian Village Resort and spoke to a Cast Member about the potential parking change. They confirmed that the policy change was indeed taking place! We were told that beginning at 2 PM, those who dine at any of the resort’s dining locations that don’t accept regular reservations can park at the Polynesian Resort, even if you’re not staying at the hotel. Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort Now, this rule is subject to change. In fact, the Cast Member stressed that this perk is based on the availability of parking spots. Hotel guest parking will always take priority, meaning that it’s not a guarantee that non-hotel guests will have spots available to them all the time. We expect busy times of year, like the holiday season, to revert to the old “NO non-hotel guest parking” rule. Some of the restaurants that will now be easier to visit include the Wailulu Bar & Grill, where you can “indulge in delicious flavors inspired by cuisine from the South Pacific Islands”… Wailulu atmosphere … the Tambu Lounge, an “enchanting watering hole where you’ll find tropical drinks and Hawaiian-inspired appetizers to Tiki your fancy—from flavorful chicken wings and marinated barbecue pork ribs to island-themed specialty cocktails and a full bar menu” just outside ‘Ohana… Tambu Lounge … and the iconic Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto, a “tropical tiki bar that captures the romance of the South Seas through unique food and drinks.” Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto Again, parking is subject to availability, but if you’re trying to visit Trader Sam’s and want to park your car at the hotel, you just might be able to score a parking spot.
