Disney4me
Disney World is in the middle of a massive transition, as new projects are underway all over the resort, including all four theme parks. Walt Disney World In the short term, these major changes are coming in the next few months! Double the Water Parks Since Disney World reopened following the COVID-19 closure, the resort has alternated which of its two water parks – – Blizzard Beach or Typhoon Lagoon – – is open at a given time, with one being closed for refurbishment while the other was operational. That’s all changing in May. Blizzard Beach First off, Typhoon Lagoon is reopening on May 1st. Now, Blizzard Beach is closing that day, BUT the park is reopening on May 21st, and BOTH of Disney World’s water parks will be open at the same time all summer! This is especially notable, as this summer will be the first summer season in which Disney World hotel guests receive a complimentary water park ticket on their check-in date. Two NEW Shows at Hollywood Studios May 27th will see the debut of not one, but TWO new stage shows at Hollywood Studios. The first, Unfairly Ever After is a “spellbinding show with moving music and a most memorable finale—where you help decide who has been treated most unfairly” amongst the Disney Villains. The show will be located in the former home of Lightning McQueen’s Racing Academy. ©Disney The second new Hollywood Studios show is a reimagined interpretation of the park’s long-running Little Mermaid show. The new “fully reimagined show will take the audience to Ariel’s treasure trove” and be known as The Little Mermaid: A Musical Adventure. According to Disney, this new show will keep “the lively puppets, props, and scenery center stage. But new to this production, get ready to be dazzled with new digital puppetry and jaw-dropping effects. Plus, the addition of new-to-the-show songs!” The Little Mermaid: A Musical Adventure Bourbon Steak is Coming to Disney World In June, Shula’s Steakhouse at the Dolphin Resort will be closing to be transformed into an outpost of Bourbon Steak. Bourbon Steak, Orange County The chain, which was launched by Celebrity chef Michael Mina about two decades ago, has locations in Del Ray Beach, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Miami, Nashville, New York, Orange County, Scottsdale, and Washington D.C. The upscale chain is “a tribute to the classic American steakhouse” according to Mina. Going by the other locations, the restaurant’s menu should include “prime cuts of beef, fresh seafood, and an extensive selection of wines and spirits, including rare and vintage bourbon selections,” as well as regional-specific dishes made with locally sourced ingredients.
