Disney4me
A MAJOR change has come to EPCOT’s newest E-Ticket attraction – – Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind – – and it will cause a ripple effect that could change your entire EPCOT trip. EPCOT Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind has been running on Disney’s virtual queue system since the attraction first opened in May of 2022. However, in February of 2025 Disney announced that the ride would be transitioning over to a traditional queue system as of February 25th. This queue change has ramifications not only for riding Cosmic Rewind, but for the park’s other rides, and even which entrance is best to access the park. Let’s start with the beginning of one’s EPCOT day. With Guardians transitioning to a traditional queue, many will choose to try and rope drop the coaster. However, that opens up a question of which entrance to enter EPCOT through. Unlike Disney World’s other 3 theme parks, EPCOT is unique in having two entrances. The first is the traditional front-of-park entrance (servicing the park’s parking lot, and the Walt Disney World’s bus and monorail transportation options), while the second is located in the park’s International Gateway in the World Showcase (servicing the walking path and boats from the EPCOT resort area as well as the Disney Skyliner loop). Inside the Cosmic Rewind queue To be blunt, the front entrance provides a much bigger advantage to those trying to rope drop Cosmic Rewind, as it’s much closer to the attraction. That in-turn nullifies a bit of the advantage of the “Deluxe Perk” that is the Skyliner. Disney World’s Skyliner Moving on from entrances, there’s the question of Lightning Lanes. In addition to its new standby queue, Cosmic Rewind WILL still be available as part both the Lightning Lane Single Pass and Lightning Lane Premier Pass offerings. However, the ride won’t initially be part of the park’s Lightning Lane Multi Pass offering. However, despite not being included in the system itself, Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind moving to a standby queue does arguably make purchasing a Lightning Lane Multi Pass more worth it. See, since a much larger chunk of one’s potential EPCOT day may be spent in line waiting for Guardians, having Multi Pass available to use on other in-demand EPCOT attractions like Frozen Ever After, Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure, and potentially the newly redesigned Test Track when it reopens later this year. Disney World Lightning Lanes have CHANGED Guardians of the Galaxy Cosmic Rewind is moving from a virtual queue to a standby queue option at EPCOT, which is causing a domino effect through the Lightning Lane system and even which entrance is best to use at the park.
