  1. We recently stopped by Aulani, the Disney Resort in Hawaii, and we are in love! Aulani We’ve checked out the rooms, tried the desserts, said hello to Mickey, and enjoyed the beach! Next on our list of to-dos, we’re dining at The Olelo Room, and we’re bringing you along with us! The Olelo Room is a lounge located at Disney’s Aulani Resort that serves up appetizers, grab-and-go options, cocktails, and mocktails! The live music and decor are designed to immerse guests in Hawaiian culture. We grabbed a seat at the bar to dive right in. Our seat at the bar! The theme is dedicated to the Hawaiian language, with the word “Olelo” being the Hawaiian word for “language.” The walls were filled with Hawaiian words to teach you what you were looking at and enjoying during the meal. The bar itself even lit up periodically with different letters during our dinner. The menu! Of every Aulani experience we had, this one felt the most “Disney.” It reminded us of something similar to Nomad Lounge in Animal Kingdom. The bartenders were fantastic, just like the rest of the service at the resort. The decor! The menu was really unique in our opinion, and this location is where you’re going to find the more upscale cocktails at this resort. They had their own exclusive cocktail and mocktail menu, which really impressed us! The drink menu! To start, we grabbed the Lychee En Voyage for $17. This was probably our favorite cocktail on the entire trip! It was made of Kai Lychee Vodka, Giffard Lichi-Li Liqueur, lychee nectar, and lemon juice. The lychee vodka was perfectly balanced with the lychee fruit. Lychee en Voyage The lemon juice addition cut through the sweetness with some tartness, and we couldn’t have enjoyed it more. It felt upscale and is easily something we will daydream about after the trip. Next up, we grabbed the Island Cruise Mocktail for $10. Island Cruise Mocktail This mocktail has strawberry purée, cream of coconut, lemon juice, and is topped with soda water. It reminded us of a coconut strawberry soda in the best way! We also appreciated that it felt like a true mocktail for adults rather than just a strawberry drink for kids. It was refreshing, fruity, and sweet. A closer look! For our food, we grabbed the Moriawase Platter for $36. It came with ahi, salmon, and a Hamachi Sashimi assortment. There was also marinated daikon and Mickey wasabi on the side. Moriawase Platter This was so high quality! The fish was super high quality and reminded us of something we would find at Morimoto Asia in Disney World. It was beautifully cut and prepared sushi with a wonderful freshness. Sushi feels like a must-have on any Hawaii trip, and this didn’t disappoint. A closer look We also tried the Pua’A Kalua Gratin for $16. The dish was made up of kālua pork, cream cheese, Maui onion, Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese, and lomi lomi tomato, served with naan bread. Our reporter had three words: “OH MY GOSH!” Pua’A Kalua Gratin This was incredible! It was a bit heavy, but we think it might have been the best dish we tried on the entire trip. This reminded us of something your friend’s dad would make for the Super Bowl, and then you’ll dream about it all year. The dip was creamy and cheesy. The dip! The flavors married together beautifully and were perfect on top of the warm naan bread. If you need more naan bread, you can ask your server and they’ll bring you more, which is worthy of a 5-star rating in our book. The naan! Overall, the Olelo Room was a big hit in our book! We think this is a great spot if you’re looking for upscale drinks and small plates during your Aulani stay. This dining location had some of the most memorable eats and drinks of our entire trip, and we can’t wait to go back. 2. Big changes are creeping into Magic Kingdom this Halloween. Halloween in Magic Kingdom If you’re heading to Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party in 2025, there are a few surprises you’ll want to know about before you start planning costumes and park strategies. From meet-and-greets to construction zones, Disney is shaking things up this year. Let’s break down four big changes we’re expecting—and how they might impact your night of spooky fun. Mickey and Minnie Are Tag-Teaming Their Meet and Greet Usually, Mickey Mouse holds down the fort solo at Town Square Theater, but this year, he’s bringing along a special guest — Minnie! For the first time during Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, guests will be able to meet both Mickey and Minnie together in their Halloween best at Town Square Theater. Mickey at Town Square Theater This is a big deal. Dual-character meet and greets at Magic Kingdom are rare, especially with characters as iconic as these two. We’re expecting the lines to be long, but the photo ops will be worth it. If you want a picture with both Mouse stars in their Halloween finest, make this one of your first stops. Minnie at the “Mickey & Friends” Meet and Greet And yes, they’re expected to debut new costumes just for the party, so don’t be shocked if their outfits are some of the most snapped photos of the night. Storybook Circus Turns Into a Kid-Friendly Haunt If you’re heading to the party with little ones, you’ll want to swing by Storybook Circus. This area is getting a full makeover for the 2025 party and will be transformed into a whimsical, family-friendly haunt. Think bright colors, silly ghosts, low-key music, and age-appropriate decorations. Storybook Circus This transformation is clearly Disney’s way of creating a more intentional space for younger guests who might be overwhelmed by the darker elements in other parts of the park. It’s also a smart move to spread out the crowds a bit. We’re not expecting major ride overlays here, but you can bet there will be themed activities and maybe even some exclusive snacks. It’s a nice touch that keeps the “not-so-scary” vibe strong and gives families with younger kids a spot to hang out, especially early in the evening. A ZOMBIES 4-Inspired Dance Party Is Coming Disney is leaning hard into its Disney Channel fanbase this year with a brand new dance party inspired by ZOMBIES 4: Dawn of the Vampires. Whether you’ve seen the ZOMBIES franchise or not, this one’s probably going to be loud, high-energy, and full of strobe lighting, vampire vibes, and undead dance moves. ©Disney We’re expecting it to be located somewhere in Tomorrowland, where past dance parties have taken place. These events are always fun to drop into for a few minutes (especially if you’re looking to escape a snack coma or just want a breather between parades). But if you have teens or tweens in your group who are into the ZOMBIES series, you’ll probably want to block off some time for this. Zom-Beatz Dance Party Costumed dancers, character appearances, and a ZOMBIES-heavy playlist are pretty much guaranteed. And let’s be real—it’s a party. Disney style. Frontierland’s Gonna Look… Rough Starting July 7, 2025, Disney is launching a major overhaul of the Frontierland area to make room for the new Piston Peak expansion — a Cars-themed land that’s replacing Tom Sawyer Island, the Liberty Square Riverboat, and the Rivers of America. Piston Peak ©Disney Translation: Frontierland is going to be covered in construction walls during the Halloween party season. Construction This part of the park usually has strong Halloween vibes, especially with the Cadaver Dans singing their ghostly tunes and that stretch of trail near Country Bear Jamboree being a perfect trick-or-treat loop. But with all this work happening, don’t be surprised if pathways are rerouted, views are blocked, and things feel a little…chaotic. The Cadaver Dans Now, we don’t know exactly how much of Frontierland will be accessible during the party, but it’s safe to assume this area will be less picturesque than usual. Keep that in mind when planning your party photos or trying to time your route for the Boo-To-You Parade. Here’s a Quick Recap of What We Know About the 2025 Party Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party runs on select nights from August 15th to October 31st, 2025, and the fun officially kicks off at 7:00PM, wrapping up at midnight. Boo to You Halloween parade at Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party (2022) Party Dates: August: 15, 17, 19, 22, 24, 26, 29 September: 2, 5, 7, 9, 12, 14, 16, 19, 21, 23, 25, 26, 28, 30 October: 2, 3, 5, 7, 9, 10, 13, 14, 16, 17, 19, 23, 24, 26, 28, 30, 31 Admission starts at 4:00PM for ticket holders, so you’ll get a few extra hours in the park before the party officially starts. Tickets cost between $119 and $229, depending on the night you go. Space Mountain overlay for MNSSHP (2024) And yes, plenty of the fan-favorite experiences are definitely coming back: The Boo-to-You Parade (featuring the Sanderson Sisters trio, Haunted Mansion ghosts, and Disney villains galore) Trick-or-treating around the park Special character meet-and-greets with rare costumes and exclusive appearances Halloween overlays on select rides like Space Mountain, Mad Tea Party, and Monsters, Inc. Laugh Floor Disney’s Not-So-Spooky Spectacular fireworks, hosted by Jack Skellington himself The Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular, starring the Sanderson Sisters, live on the Castle stage The Cadaver Dans Barbershop Quartet will be haunting Frontierland again (construction zone and all) Disney Jr. Jam dance party is also returning at Cosmic Ray’s, perfect for your youngest partygoers Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular So yes, while there are some changes in store, this year’s party still has all the ingredients to be an unforgettable night. You’ve got spooky parades, over-the-top fireworks, exclusive snacks, rare characters, and now some brand-new experiences to add to the mix. Whether you’re in it for the candy, the vibes, or the photos, Mickey’s Not-So-Scary is still the Halloween event to hit in Disney World. Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party Mickey’s Not-So-Scary is a MUST go to experience at the Magic Kingdom. It will begin on August 15th and go through October 31st — we seriously can’t wait! 4. Between the parks, the resorts, and the Downtown Disney District, the Disneyland Resort is filled with so many different dining options! Black Tap Craft Burgers & Shakes We recently stopped by Black Tap Craft Burgers & Shakes at Downtown Disney. We’re here to tell you if we think it’s worth a stop on your next Disneyland trip! Atmosphere The sit-down restaurant has a very chill and modern feel to it. You can choose to sit outside, or inside at a table, or at the counter. We think this could be a good place to go to with friends or family. It offers unique craft burgers and shakes, and its location in Downtown Disney gives you lots to do before and after eating. Black Tap! But enough about the restaurant — what’s on the menu here?! Menu Black Tap offers guests both classic shakes and their specialty “Crazyshakes”. There’s a vast variety of flavors to choose from, so there really is something for everyone here. You’ll even see they have special edition shakes, like the Mickey Mouse one! Black Tap menu The place also offers a ton of appetizers, wings, and specialty craft burgers — which is what they’re known for. ©Disney We all know what you came here for, though, so let’s get to the food! Eats First up, we grabbed the Texan BBQ Wings with Hot Fries for $28. This was six wings with sweet BBQ and scallions served with house buttermilk-dill. Texan BBQ Wings The wings were tender and came right off the bone! The BBQ sauce was full of brown sugar and sweet flavors. The dill house ranch was creamy and tangy, and the light tang was the perfect complement to other creamy and sweet flavors going on! They also served the Hot Fries with this as a half order. The fries were ok The fries weren’t as much of a hit for us. We found they were a little soggy from the ranch and pickles sitting there. Maybe it was because we took a while to get to them, but just something to be aware of. Regardless of that, we weren’t huge fans of the flavors. The ranch really overpowered both the flavor of the spices AND the fries. On top of that, these were pretty messy. Next, we had the Fried Mozz for $13.50. This was served with smoky chipotle tomato sauce. Fried Mozz! The outside was pretty crispy with a kind of buttermilk-y and salty flavor. Inside was the mozzarella, which had a kind of milky/creamy cheese flavor to it. Surprisingly, the dip was our favorite part of this! It had that sweet and savory marinara flavor, mixed with a light smoky flavor. Bonus points for the sauce because there was more cheese in it! After that, it was time for the main dish. We tried the Black Truffle Burger for $25. This was Wagyu beef, Havarti cheese, baby arugula, Truffle-Yuzu Vinaigrette, black garlic peppercorn aioli, shaved parmesan, truffle oil, served with lettuce, tomato, a pickle, and French fries. Black Truffle Burger When we ordered this, the Cast Member actually suggested we order the Wagyu beef medium well. We ended up getting it done medium, and it was honestly a perfect medium. The patty had a fattier taste than your normal beef patty, it was juicy and nearly melted in my mouth! We had no complaints on the patty, it was top tier! The dish was so good! All of the veggies on the burger were fresh, and they added a nice refreshing crunch to go with the rich and fatty patty. The peppercorn aioli was a little hard to taste, and the same goes for the parmesan or havarti. You should try this! The cheese flavor was still there, but it was second to the beef and truffle flavors this had going on. The truffle had a savory, almost meaty flavor going on. Other than the fact that we found the bun was a little too small for the patty, we really enjoyed it! Drinks To drink, we had to pick up the Special Edition CrazyShake featuring Disney Mickey Mouse for $25.50. It was a strawberry shake with a vanilla frosted rim with Mickey Mouse-shaped sprinkles topped with a house-made Mickey Mouse-shaped crispy treat, white and red rock candy, whipped cream, red sprinkles, and a cherry. Look at this thing! Ok, we know it looks absolutely crazy, it really does! However, there weren’t a lot of unique flavors with this thing. It was mostly just strawberry ice cream (which was pretty fresh and vibrant). The whipped cream also soaked down into the ice cream, which added hints of vanilla throughout the strawberry ice cream. The Mickey crispy treat was just ok, and the Mickey design had a pretty artificial sugary chocolate taste to it. You may think $25 is a lot for this…and you’d be right! This isn’t worth the high cost, in our opinion. It still tasted good, but the toppings are mostly for looks, and it’ll get melty and messy quick. We would just get a normal shake instead. Nosh or Not This Disneyland restaurant is a must-visit if… You’re looking for a spot in the nice Downtown Disney District. Downtown Disney has lots to offer — if you’re looking to explore the area or maybe do a little shopping, stop by here for a bite. You’re in the mood for a milkshake! This place is known for its craft shakes, and there are so many different flavors to try. There is a to-go window where you can get a shake if you aren’t wanting to sit down for a full meal. You should skip this Disney World spot if… You want something more budget-friendly! This spot was a little on the pricier side for some items, but maybe that’s just Disney. You want something more “Disney”! You’re at Disneyland, so we get it, you want a more “Disney” themed dining spot. Most of them are in the parks, but the hotels offer dining as well. So if you want it to feel more Disney, try the hotels! Overall Overall, it was a nice place to eat at. They offer great craft foods and drinks, and a wide variety of options for guests. It is a little on the pricier side, so prepare for that. In the meantime, we’ll be on the lookout for more restaurant updates from Disney World and beyond. 6. Universal’s 4th of July is about to get EPIC! We, my friends, have fireworks As Universal’s new theme park enters its first summer season, Epic Universe seems prepped to ring in its inaugural Independence Day with a BANG! Early in the afternoon of July 4th, Universal announced through their app that the park will be presenting a July 4th Evening Celebration at 9:00 PM. ©Universal While little information is provided within the app, the attached image as well as location on the park map, likely indicate a fireworks and perhaps a drone show similar to the display that coincided with the park’s official opening to the public back in May. ©Universal The show will join CineSational at Universal Studios Florida as Universal’s evening entertainment spectaculars on the holiday, though there is no mention of any special 4th of July elements being added to CinSational. CineSational Meanwhile, Walt Disney World will be offering Disney’s Celebrate America! – A Fourth of July Concert in the Sky fireworks show at the Magic Kingdom at 9:20 PM, and the Heartbeat of Freedom holiday tag will run at 9:15 PM at EPCOT following the 9:00 Luminous The Symphony of Us. 7. Happy Fourth of July! Frontierland dance party (2024) We’re coming to you live from Disney World where it’s not only summer, but is a big summer HOLIDAY that’s often extremely crowded in the parks. But how big are the crowds really? We’re here in Magic Kingdom to bring you all the latest updates so you know what to expect! At the start of the day, we took a look at the crowds heading into the Transportation and Tickets Center and it was clear that the crowds are NOT what we expected. And by that, we mean, things were pretty chill at the Pretty light crowds The Monorail line wasn’t long at all, and there weren’t as many people as you might think trying to hop on the Monorail to get to Magic Kingdom. This is WILD, y’all. Monorail entrance The lines at the gate weren’t even long, making us wonder where all the people are. It does NOT feel like a holiday right now. This was around noon. Magic Kingdom entrance Inside, Main Street, U.S.A., we saw what is essentially a normal busy day in Magic Kingdom, but this looks like normal weekend busy and not holiday weekend busy. On Main Street, U.S.A. Adventureland wasn’t too wild either. Adventureland Ride wait times were lower than we expected, too. Jungle Cruise had a wait of 35 minutes, while Pirates of the Caribbean was at just 30 minutes. That’s it! Pirates of the Caribbean line A little later, wait times had gone up a bit. Jungle Cruise was up to 45 minutes, and Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, as well as Space Mountain and Tiana’s Bayou Adventure had hour-long waits. Tron Lightcycle / Run had a wait of 90 minutes. ©Disney Now we are sure that once it gets closer to fireworks time, crowds will be VERY heavy in and around the Hub and Main Street. This show, Disney’s Celebrate America! – A Fourth of July Concert in the Sky, only happens a few times a year, so people usually flock to this show. If you plan to grab a spot, we recommend getting one at least an HOUR before showtime. Be sure to stay tuned to DFB for all the latest Disney World news! 10. A popular cruise line is making it more lucrative to sail with them in 2026 and beyond! ©Carnival Carnival Cruise Line may have a new ship debuting in 2027, but before then, it’ll make waves among the cruise industry by offering a brand-new loyalty program! Starting June 1st, 2026, Carnival Cruise Line will offer a new version of its loyalty program called Carnival Rewards! ©Carnival The current program — called Carnival VIFP Club — allocates 1 point per night you sail, with unlockable tiers based on said points. Taking after the frequent flyer model that airlines typically boast, this new reward system includes redeemable points and qualifiers to earn and maintain elite status. Instead of basing point distribution on nights sailing, it’ll instead be based on how much you spend. Under the new program, guests will earn 3 points for every dollar spent on eligible Carnival Cruise Line purchases such as fare, onboard dining and beverages, excursions, and spa services — “just about anything Carnival!” Additionally, each casino point remaining at the end of your cruise will be converted into 1 point. ©Carnival Per The Points Guy, points can also be earned outside of cruising dates. Spending on the Carnival World Mastercard will be rewarded and the new points system “will replace the FunPoints currently earned on the card, and existing cardmembers will see their current balances transitioned to the new program when it launches,” according to the report — which also adds that Carnival Rewards points can be redeemed for pretty much anything related to a Carnival cruise. ©Carnival As we previously mentioned, the new program will offer tiered statuses. Carnival will reward loyalty with Status Qualifying Stars that build up through four different tiers. Earning stars is the same way you earn points: You’ll get 3 stars for every dollar spent and 1 star for every casino point remaining after your cruise. at the end of your cruise. You can earn stars over a two-year window. Once you reach a certain status, it’ll remain valid for the remainder of that two-year period in addition to another two years, giving you plenty of incentive to strive for the higher tier. ©Carnival Carnival Rewards won’t be a total reset. Whatever status you have in the VIFP Club on May 31st, 2026, will translate to your starting level in Carnival Rewards for two years. With that said, folks who have Diamond VIFP status will keep that status for six years as an extra “thank you” for their loyalty. Regardless, all members grandfathered into the new loyalty program will need to meet the two-year qualification requirements before their transition periods end — otherwise, they will lose their benefits. The tiers, their qualifications, and their spending requirements every two years (casino activity not included) are as follows: Red — Given at sign-up Gold — 10,000 stars ($3,333.33) Platinum — 50,000 stars ($16,666.67) Diamond — 100,000 stars ($33,333.33) ©Carnival The benefits of each tier are as follows: Red — Earn and redeem points, member-only offers, member e-newsletter, and a complimentary 1.5L bottle of water Gold — Earn and redeem points, member-only offers, member e-newsletter, gold member support, one complimentary beverage on 5+ days, and one complimentary 1.5L bottle of water Platinum — Earn and redeem points, member-only offers, member e-newsletter, member collectible pin, platinum member support, one complimentary 1.5L bottle of water, two complimentary beverages, a complimentary Wash & Fold, priority Specialty Dining reservations, priority Main Dining reservations, early online check-in (16 days), embarkation priority, onboard priority, and debarkation priority Diamond — Earn and redeem points, member-only offers, member e-newsletter, member collectible pin, dedicated diamond support (sales & service), one complimentary 1.5L bottle of water, two complimentary beverages, a complimentary Wash & Fold, priority Specialty Dining reservations, guarantee Main Dining time, early online check-in (16 days), embarkation priority, onboard priority, debarkation priority, retail concierge services, and a special event invitation from the Captain. Of note, as of June 1st, 2026, the VIFP Club party on 5+ day cruises, $5 worth of complimentary arcade credits, a welcome treat on 5+ day cruises, the VIFP Club logo gift on every sailing, the one-time complimentary meal for two at a specialty dining restaurant, the one-time free cabin upgrade (or third, fourth, and fifth guests sail free), and the VIFP Club luggage tag set will NO LONGER BE OFFERED. ©Carnival The shift away from lifetime qualification in favor of new currency benefits is a fascinating move from Carnival, and we’re interested to see how it all pans out next year! 11. EPCOT has become a beloved destination for Disney adults. Here we can find not just nostalgia, but some world-class food, drinks, and immersive cultural experiences. EPCOT With its World Showcase offering everything from authentic cuisine to creative cocktails, EPCOT is often considered the most “grown-up” of the Disney parks. For many, it’s a tradition to “Drink Around the World,” sampling beverages from each pavilion. But as this trend grows, some longtime fans are noticing a problem starting right at the first stop: Mexico. EPCOT’s Mexico Pavilion is a fan-favorite starting point for the iconic “Drink Around the World” experience. With its vibrant atmosphere, festive music, and strong, flavorful margaritas from spots like La Cava del Tequila, it’s easy to see why so many Disney adults kick off their international adventure here. Where are the Disney fans who pick Mexico over Canada to start? But lately, there’s been a growing trend that’s rubbing some seasoned visitors the wrong way — people going overboard on their very first drink. Mexico Pavilion Let’s be honest: Disney adults are all here to have a good time. But when guests start the day by slamming down tequila shots or ordering the most potent margarita without pacing themselves, it can quickly set the tone for a messy park experience. Slurred conversations, loud behavior, and even public stumbling not only ruin the vibe for others but can also cut your own day short. EPCOT is meant to be enjoyed leisurely, with each pavilion offering unique tastes and cultural moments, not just another stop on a bar crawl. We know it can be easy to do because those drinks are delicious, but let’s slow it down. Avocado Margarita Veteran Disney adults know the key is balance. If you’re planning to sip your way around the World Showcase, start slow. Hydrate, pair your drinks with food, and pace yourself to truly enjoy what each country has to offer. Setting a good tone in Mexico means respecting the space, the cast members, and your fellow guests. So next time you’re tempted to go all-in on drink number one, take a deep breath, raise your glass, and remember — it’s a marathon, not a sprint. 12. Happy 4th of July to all who celebrate! HAPPY FOURTH OF JULY! Lots of people flock to Magic Kingdom and EPCOT for this holiday thanks to their special holiday offerings, one of the most popular being the fireworks in both parks. Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Disney’s Animal Kingdom often celebrate the holiday with special snacks or other offerings, but if you want a show at the end of your day filled with red, white, and blue, Magic Kingdom or EPCOT are the best parks to head to. And what does the celebration look like in Magic Kingdom? Check it out! We made sure to grab a spot early on for the fireworks, because they’re pretty popular! We certainly weren’t the only ones with that idea, and we noticed families grabbing spots EARLY. If you’re in the parks for any holiday with a special show, we recommend grabbing a spot between 45-60 minutes ahead of time. Look at the crowds! This show is different from Magic Kingdom’s usual Happily Ever After show, and only happens a couple of times per year. Again, another reason why it attracts a lot of crowds, so be prepared! This show is called Disney’s Celebrate America! – A Fourth of July Concert in the Sky and begins at 9:20 PM. It was busy from the castle, to down Main Street The show had a little bit of a pre-show, with a live DJ on stage in front of the castle! There’s a DJ! The show features so many awesome effects on and near the castle. There are projections, smaller fireworks, larger fireworks, and smoke effects. Let the show begin! The show is full of lots of red, white, and blue lights on the castle and fireworks in the sky. It’s certainly a great way to feel festive! They’re so beautiful! We can’t imagine celebrating the 4th of July without a big fireworks show, and this one is something special! Look at the sky! During the show, you’ll hear a lot of patriotic songs, like “America the Beautiful.” Music, fireworks, lights! The show truly is one-of-a-kind! The sky just lights up with this show Just look how beautiful the fireworks are! WOW Once you watch the Fourth of July fireworks, you can see what all the hype is about and why it gets so crowded to watch them! The show was amazing! 14. Disney’s Aulani Resort & Spa — located in Ko Olina, Oahu, Hawai’i — is a Disney Vacation Club property with a TON of activities, restaurants, entertainment, recreation, character interactions, and more. Let’s go to Ulu Cafe! We’ve been spending some time at this resort, and while there’s plenty to do, we ARE Disney Food Blog after all. And that means we’re most excited about the FOOD! So, come with us to check out Ulu Cafe at Disney’s Aulani Resort & Spa! Atmosphere Ulu Cafe is a quick service spot with “delicious self-serve items or cooked-to-order specialties that you can take to go or enjoy on our covered patio with an ocean view.” It’s located on the first floor of the resort, right next to the Wailana Pool. Ulu Cafe Since this is a quick-service restaurant, you’ll place your order and pick it up at a counter (or you can Mobile Order!). You’ll find self-service condiments and drink stations here… Condiment station …along with plenty of seating — both covered and uncovered, but all of the seating is outside. Drink station So, what’s on the menu over at Ulu Cafe? We’re glad you asked! Menu Ulu Cafe serves up breakfast, lunch, and dinner depending on the time of day, and the menu is mostly comprised of grab-and-go items along with some made-to-order specialties. You’ll find breakfast sandwiches, acai bowls, poke bowls, burgers, pizza, and even traditional Hawaiian dinner plates. Ulu Cafe menu You’ll also find a variety of drinks — both alcoholic and nonalcoholic — on the menu here! Eats To kick things off, we grabbed the Spicy Tuna Poke Bowl for $22. This is made with ahi tuna, sriracha aïoli, fried shallots, chili water, and sushi rice. This was TRULY delicious — our reporter said it was one of the better poke bowls they’ve ever had. We did have high hopes because poke bowls are definitely a Hawaiian thing, but at the same time, it’s a Disney resort, so how authentic is it gonna be? But we were pleasantly surprised! Spicy Poke Bowl They loaded us up with toppings, including two different sauces and sesame seeds. They seasoned the rice in front of us — it was THAT fresh — and she put it all together right in front of us, too. It was so delicious and fresh. The tuna was so tender and flavorful and just perfectly cooked — every bite had so much of the toppings, and it all blended together to make this fun tropical dish. We did get the spicy tuna, and honestly, it was not spicy at all. It was very “Disney” spicy, but it had more flavor than actual heat. It’s a bit on the expensive side; however, tons of high-quality tuna were in this, and this was easily shareable. Spicy Poke Bowl Next up, we grabbed the Hawaiian Dinner Plate for $29. This comes with slow-cooked Hawai’ian-style kalua pork, poke, and two sides — we picked macaroni salad and a tropical salad. This seems pricey at first, but it was a LOT of food. This could have easily been shared between two people, maybe even two adults and a kid, or three not-so-hungry adults. Hawai’ian Dinner Plate Kicking things off with the kalua pork, which was just simple, tender, well-cooked pork. It was slightly sweet but not in a teriyaki way, and was just really hearty and delightful. What we loved about this was that it came with a little sample of poke if you want to try something a bit more adventurous, but still have an old standby with the pork and mac salad. Speaking of which, the mac salad was also one of the best we’ve ever had, which also isn’t surprising since Hawai’i is known for mac salad as well. It was super light and well-balanced, and it helped to sort of make for a creamier addition to a pretty meat-heavy plate. It was tangy, and the veggies and noodles were both cooked well. Macaroni Salad The dressing on the tropical salad was awesome — it was a tropical citrusy sort of vinaigrette that helped to cut through some of the richness of the other items on the plate. Again, this was kind of expensive for a walk-up quick service restaurant, but it was really high quality, and there was so much food that the plate could definitely be shared. Poke sample For dessert, we grabbed this adorable Olu Mel Cupcake. This is a pineapple macadamia nut cupcake with vanilla frosting on top — along with an Olu Mel white chocolate piece and sprinkles. There’s pineapple cream and pineapple preserves in here as well. Olu Mel Cupcake This is one of those classic Disney cupcakes that has a tower of cake in the middle of the frosting, so the frosting looks good. We didn’t think this had enough filling! We got the pineapple for sure, but we couldn’t really taste much of the macadamia, which was a bummer, and the cake was a bit on the dry side. We didn’t mind the cake’s texture, though; we just think if it had more filling, the dry side of the cake wouldn’t have been as apparent, but still, this was a really good cupcake. Olu Mel Cupcake We wrapped things up with the Pineapple Mango Cream Puff for $10. Look at how BIG this thing is! Definitely shareable, which makes the price sting a little bit less. Pineapple Mango Cream Puff This cream puff was one of the better bakery-case Disney desserts we’ve ever had. The cream puff dough was perfectly soft and chewy without being dense, which was surprising to us with its size. To be honest, we bought this one because it was pretty — but then it was actually really good! The pastry tasted just like a perfect cream puff — it was super flaky and airy, and then it had all this delicious cream, which was just like a well-made whipped cream. We didn’t taste a ton of the pineapple, but there were actual mango pieces, not only in the garnish but in the actual sandwich of the cream puff. We really enjoyed this, and it was super refreshing. It has coconut shavings on the outside, but it was not a very noticeable part of the treat. This was just a well-balanced, tropical pastry we’d recommend! Delicious! You can also pick up an Aulani Resort Refillable Mug for $25 at Ulu Cafe! Aulani Resort Refillable Mug This mug can be used for FREE drink refills during your Aulani stay on things like sodas, coffee, tea, juice, and more! Nosh or Not Stop by Ulu Cafe at Disney’s Aulani Resort if… You’re looking for a quick bite to eat with a TON of options. You want something a bit more adventurous, like ahi tuna or a poke bowl. You’re looking for a poolside ambiance with your meal. Skip a meal at Ulu Cafe if… You’re looking for something a bit more formal or fancier. You want a break from being outside and would rather dine inside. You aren’t looking for a counter-service experience. Overall We were SUPER thrilled with everything we had at Ulu Cafe. The poke was some of the best our reporter has ever had — at Disney or otherwise — and we still can’t get over that kalua pork and mac salad. Make a pit stop at Ulu Cafe if you’re looking for a quick bite to eat at Disney’s Aulani Resort!
