  2. When dining at Disney World, you’ve got a TON of options. Want something upscale? You’ve got it. Something middle of the road? You can find it at Disney World. And if you’re looking for something relaxed, casual, and quick, you can find that as well. One of the best options for a quick and easy meal is heading to the quick service location at your hotel, and today we are stopping by one to try some new menu items! Disney’s Art of Animation Resort We recently stopped by Landscape of Flavors at Disney’s Art of Animation Resort to check out some new menu items. We love it when new food comes to Disney World, so let’s see if these new dishes are worth the stop! Is it worth a stop on your next trip to the Most Magical Place on Earth? Find out here! Atmosphere Landscape of Flavors is located inside of Disney’s Art of Animation Resort. It is a cafeteria-style dining location with a plethora of seating options. It serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner, so if you are feeling hungry while you are at Art of Animation, this could be a great option for a quick meal. Landscape of Flavors There are four sections to the dining areas that are themed to the same films that inspired the areas of Art of Animation. You will find an area inspired by The Lion King, Cars, Finding Nemo, and The Little Mermaid. We loved the themed areas! Like other cafeteria-style options at Disney World, you will find multiple stations inside the restaurant. You can either order your food from one of the stations or stop by a grab-and-go station for an even quicker and easier option. Each station has different food options, so take a look at the menus overhead to figure out which station you want to go to. You can also place a Mobile Order and pick up your food from the Mobile Order station. Lots of different food stalls But enough about the restaurant — what’s on the menu here?! Menu Landscape of Flavors is a food court location inside of Disney’s Art of Animation, so it has a pretty extensive menu of options. There are entrees such as Mongolian Beef, Fish and Chips, and Ramen Noodle Bowls. ©Disney You can also choose from pizza and pasta, including a Large Cheese Pizza or Chicken-Parmesan Pasta. ©Disney There are also options for burgers, chicken, and sandwiches. You can grab a Cheeseburger, Caprese Chicken Sandwich, or a Meatball Sub. ©Disney There are also soups and salads, including a Caesar Salad and a Greek Salad. ©Disney There is also a plant-based option, the Korean-style Impossible Burger. You can also get a hot dog, the Chili-Cheese Foot-long Hot Dog. ©Disney There are a few options for sides like Garlic Bread Sticks. ©Disney There are also 10 different options for kids’ meals including Chicken Strips, Sesame Chicken, and Macaroni & Cheese. ©Disney Of course, you can also grab some sweet treats at Landscape of Flavors including the Sketchbook Cake or a Cookies ‘n Cream Sundae Cupcake. ©Disney There are also lots of options from the bakery section. ©Disney There are also enhancements and fresh fruit available. ©Disney As well as grab and go snacks such as a Yogurt Parfait, Pretzels with Hummus, and Uncrustables. ©Disney There is also a wide variety of beverages available. ©Disney You can also get tea and specialty coffees. ©Disney As well as hot beverages, milk, and milk alternatives. ©Disney There are also options for juice and water. ©Disney If you are looking for an adult beverage, you will also find specialty cocktails. ©Disney There is also a selection of beer. ©Disney And wine offered by the glass and by the bottle. ©Disney We made it through everything that is offered at Landscape of Flavors, so now, onto the main event — the food! Eats We started off with the Butter Chicken with Naan Bread for $14.19. It is served with steamed rice, green beans, and naan bread. Who knew we could get that classic butter chicken flavor at a Disney World resort? The sauce was flavorful and filled with spices, but not spicy. The chicken was on the drier side, but we had plenty of sauce to help. We loved the creaminess of the sauce, especially with the rice. Butter Chicken with Naan Bread The rice was cooked well, and the green beans were flavored with pepper, onion, and garlic. They even tasted a bit smoky! Our meal came with a side of naan that was a bit thinner than classic naan, but we loved to dip it into the sauce and scoop everything up together. There was a hit of garlic too, and it was a bit chewy from sitting out for a bit, but if it was fresh for the day, it would have had a great texture. The chicken We also tried the Ramen Noodle Bowl with Beef for $13.49. It features fresh vegetables and soft-boiled egg in miso broth. Ramen Noodle Bowl with Beef The ramen bowl takes a bit longer to order, but for the best reason — it’s made to order! They cook the noodles fresh and assemble them together, making our bowl fresh and just how we like it. The noodles were well-cooked and were tender with that bit of chew to them. The beef was tender and had a bit of chew, and mixed well with the miso-forward broth. There was even a bit of sweetness in the back! When we split the egg, it was runny and soaked in soy sauce, which is one of our favorite ramen toppings. The other vegetables were bok choy, carrots, corn, mushrooms, edamame, sweet peppers, and bamboo shoots, and like the butter chicken, we’re surprised we can pick this up at a quick-service restaurant. It’s a great meal option for something a bit lighter but also filling. We were really impressed! There were also some new options for kids’ meals, so we grabbed the Sesame Chicken Kids’ Meal for $8.29. This dish has broccoli, red pepper, and onion with rice served with choice of two sides and small lowfat milk or small DASANI® bottled water. Sesame Chicken Kids’ Meal We picked up a kids meal, and even though it’s for kids, we might be picking this up again for ourselves in the future. The chicken had a thick layer of sauce that was sticky and sweet, and you could taste the spices, and while it isn’t spicy, it’s more of a spiced chicken versus sweet. You get three pieces of chicken, a scoop of rice, and a small scoop of broccoli and red pepper. The veggies were charred and tender and matched the overall feeling of the meal. So good! We finished off our meal with the Sketchbook Cake for $6.79. It is colorful vanilla sponge cake, vanilla buttercream, chocolate ganache, and edible sketches. Sketchbook Cake When we saw this dessert, we knew we had to get it! The vanilla cake was moist and had tons of vanilla buttercream (frosting lovers, this is for you!). The icing was on the sweet side, and the chocolate ganache was rich. Too cute! This might not be the most unique flavors we’ve ever had, but it’s a solid piece of cake that was super cute, and yes, the sketches on top are edible! Nosh or Not This Disney World restaurant is a must-visit if… You are staying at the Art of Animation You are looking for faster meal options You want a variety of foods so everyone can find something they’ll like You should skip this Disney World spot if… You aren’t staying at the Art of Animation You want a longer, sit-down meal You want more classic dishes like burgers and chicken tenders (which we love, too!) Overall Landscape of Flavors was a hit for us! We had a variety of food and enjoyed all of it. They had hearty meals that would fill us up after a long park day, and we loved that we can pick a meal up and head back to our room to relax. Since the restaurant is cafeteria style, you can find something for each member of the family all in one place and grab a dessert while you’re at it. Because of the location, we wouldn’t go out of our way to eat there if we weren’t staying at the resort, but if you are staying there, it should be on your list. Lots of great options! In the meantime, we’ll be on the lookout for more restaurant updates from Disney World and beyond. Make sure you stay tuned to the Disney Food Blog for the latest Disney news and more! 8. Disney World has been focused on bringing in new experiences for guests throughout the parks, and one way they’ve been doing this is with lounges. Lounges are specialized spaces that mainly focus on drinks and small plates, where guests can sit in a relaxing space before heading back to their park day. ©Disney Two new lounges are coming to Disney World. The Beak and Barrel, a pirate-themed lounge, will open in late 2025, and GEO-82, the first adults-only lounge, will open on June 4th. While we’re excited for these to open, let’s chat about why Disney is opening them. The Beak and Barrel opening in Adventureland in Magic Kingdom will be completely pirate-themed. From ships in a bottle, an anchor filled with candles, and a parrot who tells stories from his perch in the lounge, this family-friendly experience will allow you to become a pirate. ©Disney GEO-82, located in Spaceship Earth in EPCOT, will be an elegant, adults-only space with refined small bites and sophisticated drinks. This lounge will welcome all those who are 21 and older and will have views of EPCOT as you become “immersed in the storied history and enduring legacy of this timeless EPCOT icon.” ©Disney These sound incredible, but why is Disney adding two new lounges this year? 1. Disney Wants You to Stay in the Parks Longer Adventureland Why does Disney add new attractions, restaurants, experiences, and anything to the parks? Because they want you to stay longer! New lounges, especially with booked reservations, could have you staying in the park longer throughout the day. If you’re local, you might come in earlier in Magic Kingdom before heading to The Beak and Barrel to catch a ride on Pirates of the Caribbean or stay later and watch Happily Ever After. ©Disney Maybe as you head out, you stop at a gift shop and grab an extra souvenir, or maybe you stayed so late that you need to get another meal. The longer they can get you to stay in the parks, the more money they can potentially make. 2. They Want You to Spend More Money ©Disney At the end of the day, Disney is a business with the goal of making money. While we don’t have prices for The Beak and Barrel, we do for GEO-82, and if you’re planning on going, be prepared to drop a fair amount of money. A small bite, like the Truffled Ahi Tuna, will set you back $23, and drinks cost on average about $25. With lounges, Disney can market them as specialized experiences, so hopefully you won’t bat an eye at spending more money than at another restaurant. Luminous at EPCOT Disney can even offer more experiences within the lounges, like the GEO-82 Fireworks Experience, which will allow you to watch Luminous: The Symphony of Us from inside the lounge. You’ll be in the air conditioning, with a seat, and can sip on champagne and special small bites. This sounds incredible, but it costs $179 per person, not including tax or gratuity. Oga’s Cantina Even about eight years later, Oga’s Cantina, another lounge in Hollywood Studios, is always busy and it can still be difficult to get reservations. The lounges are special, and Disney will add that special pricing to them. 3. Disney Can Target Specific Audiences ©Disney While Disney Cruise Line is no stranger to adults-only lounges, GEO-82 will be the first adults-only space inside the theme parks at Disney World. Making this 21 can allow Disney to target the adults of the groups who want a special night out or a theme park space without kids everywhere. Lots of people are willing to spend a higher dollar amount to have a kid-free space! ©Disney The Beak and Barrel lounge is geared towards families. Pirate-loving kids will want to get their super cool (alcohol-free) drinks, and adults will walk back with a souvenir mug all themed to pirates. These themed spaces make it easier to target that specific audience. 4. Lounges are Cheaper to Build TRON While we would love brand-new attractions every month at Disney World, it’s not practical, budget-wise. These lounges certainly aren’t cheap to build, but they are significantly more affordable than huge attractions or full restaurants. This way, Disney can still bring something new into the parks more often without breaking the budget. Construction Walls New spaces bring in more guests who don’t travel often or may only go to Disney World every few years. If Disney can bring hype around the lounges, people will be ready to dive in. At the end of the day, Disney is always trying to build experiences to have you stay in the parks and come back more often, and lounges are a great way to do that. When both of the lounges open, we’re going to be visiting, trying the food and drinks, so you know if it’s worth your time and money to visit. 9. Mears Connect bus Mears Connect has been around for a few years now, and while it’s a paid travel service (unlike Magical Express, which was free), many find that it’s easier than using a rideshare service like Uber, especially if they’re traveling with younger kids. 10. Epic Universe is full of new dining experiences and opportunities, but you’re not just limited to dining inside the park! Universal Helios Grand Hotel Helios Grand Hotel is located right next to the park, and you can easily pop in during your park day for a nice meal or a drink. The rooftop bar, Bar Helios, is especially sought after due to its incredible theme park views, but it’s pretty pricey to dine here. Are the eats and drinks worth the dent to your wallet? We found out! Recently, while exploring the park, we decided to stop by Bar Helios to grab a bite to eat, and the Heritage Crispy Chicken Wings are what caught our eye first, partially because they’re $24! These were served on labneh (which is a cheese that is sort of like plain Greek yogurt), honey lime, and pomegranate. The wings all had a decent amount of meat, but $4 a wing is still pretty expensive. Since they had pomegranate seeds and a honey lime flavor, they were a great mix of sweet and savory, which we really enjoyed. Are they good wings? For sure, just know you’ll have to pay a hefty price for them. Heritage Crispy Chicken Wings We also picked up the Fried Halloumi, which are essentially fried cheese cubes, for $19. It comes with spiced honey and kibbeh. The breading here is a Panko breadcrumb-type coating, which we have no issues with, especially since the ratio of breading to cheese was really nice. Halloumi cheese is a denser cheese, so don’t expect a cheese pull here. We got around 10–12 pieces on our plate, so it is a shareable appetizer, and we really enjoyed the spiced honey sauce on top. Fried Halloumi Overall, we enjoyed the dish a lot, and if you’re going to Bar Helios, knowing you’re about to drop some cash on an upscale snack, then we don’t think this is a bad option. However, we don’t recommend it for picky eaters or those who are choosy about textures, because a lot of the options at this spot are so upscale that it may be hard to find something you like. Bar Helios Ultimately, this is a lovely little bar with some great options on the menu. We enjoyed our meal, and the vibes were ON POINT. The music was just right, and the views were perfect. Come around golden hour for the BEST experience. Looking for more recent Epic Universe news? Check out our posts below! More Epic Universe News! REVIEW: BEWARE! 12. Planning a cruise to Mexico soon? Heads up that you might need to update your budget! Disney Cruise Line There’s nothing quite like the excitement of planning a vacation! For many travelers, cruises offer the perfect opportunity to see multiple different places on one trip. And while a cruise can be expensive, sailings typically include the price of many of the onboard dining experiences, activities, and entertainment. But if you’ve already got your next cruise budget set, beware that you might need to do some tweaking to those numbers. Cruising to Mexico is about to get more expensive, starting with this summer travel season. Ocean View Room Beginning on July 1st, all passengers cruising into Mexican ports will be responsible for a new tax. While the tax was initially planned to be $42 per passenger, cruise industry leaders worked with the Mexican government to compromise on a reduced amount. Disney Treasure As of July 1st, all passengers will be responsible for a $5 fee per guest, which will be added to each cruise fare and collected by the cruise line. The amount is scheduled to increase over the following years to $10 per person on August 1st, 2026, $15 per person on July 1st, 2027, and $21 per person on August 1st, 2028. The rates have currently only been revealed through the 2028 season, so it’s unclear whether additional adjustments will be made in the following years, per the Florida-Caribbean Cruise Association (FCCA). ©Royal Caribbean This new tax will impact all cruise ports in Mexico, including popular destinations like Cozumel, Cabo San Lucas, Costa Maya, and Puerto Vallarta. ©Regent Additionally, a new fee is set to come into effect in Hawaii. A prorated tax will be placed on all cruise ship guests visiting Hawaii. This per-person fee on cruise ship passengers will add an 11 percent tax on ship cabins, similar to fees already paid by hotels and vacation rentals. 13. Sometimes when you’re at Magic Kingdom, you just need to disappear for a minute. Magic Kingdom Between the crowds, the parades, the wait times, and the endless loop of “it’s a small world,” Magic Kingdom can get a little… overwhelming. And while we love the magic, there’s nothing wrong with needing a quiet spot to cool off, snack in peace, or just recharge (literally and emotionally). That’s why we’re sharing our top secret hideaway in Magic Kingdom—and a few runner-ups that are pretty close behind. Upstairs at Columbia Harbour House If we had to crown one spot as the ULTIMATE Magic Kingdom hiding place, this is it. Upstairs dining area The second floor of Columbia Harbour House in Liberty Square is criminally underrated. Most guests don’t even realize there is an upstairs. Seriously—people just grab their food, find a table downstairs (if they’re lucky), and call it a day. Meanwhile, upstairs? Peaceful. Air-conditioned. Almost eerily quiet compared to the chaos just one flight down. It’s full of cozy two- and four-top tables, big windows overlooking Liberty Square, and it’s almost always empty—even during the lunch and dinner rush. Upstairs dining room You don’t even have to eat there to go up and sit for a bit. We’ve seen people read books, scroll through photos, charge devices, and even take quick catnaps in the cushioned corner booths. It’s that relaxed. So if you need a real break—not just a shady bench with a bunch of stroller traffic zooming by—Columbia Harbour House upstairs is the move. Lobster Roll Also, the food here is actually really solid. We’re talking crispy chicken tenders, buttery hush puppies, a legit Lobster Roll, and that Maple-Mustard Glazed Salmon that somehow feels like a fancy meal in the middle of a theme park. Columbia Harbour House Full Spread The real MVP? The Trio Platter—beer-battered shrimp, fried fish, and chicken strips all on one plate. It’s the kind of meal that satisfies without leaving you feeling weighed down for the rest of the day. For our latest review of Columbia Harbour House — Click Here Honorable Mentions Now, while Columbia Harbour House hideout is our top pick, there are a few other places in the park that get close to that same level of chill. Here’s where else you can sneak away and breathe for a bit: Dining Area Beside Golden Oak Outpost This one’s for the folks hanging around Adventureland. Just to the left of Golden Oak Outpost, there’s a little shaded patio with a handful of tables. It doesn’t look like much, but that’s the point. Dining area It’s low-key, it’s off the main path, and unless it’s peak lunch time, it’s basically empty. Great for a quick sit-down with a snack, especially if you’re not trying to trek across the park for peace and quiet. Center Street (off Main Street, U.S.A.) This is a blink-and-you-miss-it spot—exactly what you want in a good hiding place. Head toward Crystal Arts on Main Street, then look for a small side street on the right called Center Street. Center Street It’s got a few café-style tables and chairs and almost no foot traffic. You can still hear the background music and soak in that classic Disney atmosphere, but without the stroller jams and PhotoPass traffic jams. Pro tip: grab a snack from Main Street Bakery and camp out here for 15 minutes. Instant reset. Storybook Circus Relaxation Zone Okay, it’s technically a “relaxation station,” but don’t let the name fool you—this spot in Storybook Circus is a goldmine. The Tent near Pete’s Silly Sideshow It’s a big yellow tent, with surprisingly comfy seating, plenty of space, outlets for charging, and dim lighting that gives it a super mellow vibe. If you’ve got kids in tow who just need a break from the overstimulation—or if you do—this is a great place to regroup. Second Floor of Pinocchio Village Haus Another upstairs secret! Most people grab a table downstairs, especially the ones overlooking “it’s a small world,” and never think to explore further. But upstairs at Pinocchio Village Haus, it’s quiet and usually overlooked. You won’t get the same cozy vibe as Columbia Harbour House, but it’s a solid option if you’re in Fantasyland and don’t want to fight for a table near the crowds. Great spot to sip on a soda and figure out your next move. Upstairs at Pinocchio So the next time Magic Kingdom starts to feel a little too magical, remember—there are places you can escape. Whether you’re hiding out upstairs at Columbia Harbour House or lounging under a Storybook Circus tent, these little quiet corners are total game-changers. But if you’re heading to the park in the coming weeks, heads up that a TON of the park’s unique offerings will be disappearing soon! EPCOT has enough restaurants, entertainment, and attractions available year-round to be worth a visit any time. But we have to say, there’s nothing quite like the sparkle of an EPCOT festival to really get our heart eyes activated! 2025 EPCOT Flower and Garden Festival In recent years, EPCOT has hosted four different festivals annually, which take place for a limited time. Right now, the EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival is taking place in the park, featuring over 20 Outdoor Kitchens with festival-exclusive eats and drinks, live musical performances in the Garden Rocks concert series, Disney-themed topiaries throughout the park, and more. EPCOT Flower & Garden Festival The festival kicked off on March 5th this year, but beware that this fan-favorite event will soon be coming to a close. The last day of the EPCOT Flower & Garden Festival is June 2nd, 2025, meaning all of those festival-exclusive food booths, entertainment, and decor will soon be disappearing! 2025 EPCOT Flower and Garden Festival — Moana Entrance Topiary After the Flower & Garden Festival wraps up, EPCOT will be festival-less for almost three months, until the 2025 EPCOT Food and Wine Festival begins on August 28th. Tangierine Cafe Dishes and Drinks at 2024 EPCOT Food & Wine Festival EPCOT will always have a special place in our hearts, no matter what time of year it is. 16. An upcoming hotel announcement could COMPLETELY change the way we visit Disney World! Bay Lake When it comes to Disney World hotels, Disney World experts have their favorite or a few favorites that are their go-to each visit. Even we have our preferences! However, a new resort will be gracing the Disney World property in a few years and it’s sure to shake up the hotel game! Disney’s Lakeshore Lodge is the newest hotel set to open on Bay Lake right by Magic Kingdom sometime in 2027. ©Disney This Disney Vacation Club (DVC) resort will be located at the former River Country water park near Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground and is “inspired by the majesty of nature and its enduring influence on Disney artists.” ©Disney Still in construction, Disney’s Lakeshore Lodge was once called Reflections – A Disney Lakeside Lodge to Disney Lakeshore Lodge and has been in development for several years now. Recently, we’ve seen plenty of construction being done, at least confirming that the new resort IS, in fact, coming to Disney World. Disney’s Lakeshore Lodge While we’re still learning a lot about this new resort, Disney has mentioned that it will feature a new restaurant themed around The Princess and the Frog, no doubt making it a hotspot for DVC members and non-DVC members alike. The hotel has also teased rooms featuring theming of some classic woodland Disney characters, although we’ll learn more about that as we get closer to the project’s completion. With this new hotel situated between Wilderness Lodge and Fort Wilderness, it might be interesting to see how many fans of those resorts change their hotel plans to stay at this new hotel instead! 18. It’s a beautiful day in Orlando, we’re here to see some dragons, and we’re on a MISSION to try all the new snacks and restaurants around Epic Universe to help you plan for your upcoming vacation. Come now, Vikings! We’re here to EAT. Isle of Berk Over in How to Train Your Dragon — Isle of Berk, food may not be the number one thing on your mind (it’s likely the rides or the meet-and-greets; those always seem to catch our eye first), but there ARE treats hidden around this land you may find yourself craving. However, is a dragon-themed cake pop really worth a whopping $10? We’re finding out today, so you don’t have to take the risk! At the How To Treat Your Dragon shop in Isle of Berk, you’ll find a small store filled with different sweet treats, delicacies, and more. One of the most popular offerings in the treat case is the Cake Pops, but they certainly aren’t cheap, coming in at just around $10 each. How To Treat Your Dragon We decided to grab the Vanilla Caramel Cake Pop, which has a design themed to the shop and the land as a whole. That means it’s got a real Viking vibe — this isn’t some cutesy little Starbucks cake pop. You’ll order your treat at the counter and then get a number to listen for as you wait nearby. When they call your number, you’ll head up to the counter to get your treat. Cake Pops! Now, we will say one thing — this is a MASSIVE cake pop! It’s super thick and easily has a whole cupcake’s worth of cake inside of it, so they’re not skimping out on that. Honestly, our reporter couldn’t eat it all in one sitting. But here’s where things get interesting. This cake pop came with a Ziploc bag (with a cool dragon on it, btw), so it was easy to just stick it back in there and save for later. As frequent leftover hoarders, that Ziploc bag was a WELCOME bonus. Vanilla Caramel Cake Pop Now, in terms of flavor, the vanilla caramel cake wasn’t overly sweet, which we appreciated. It’s very dense and moist, and we really loved that it didn’t have too much of the candy chocolate coating on the outside of it. The ratio was ON POINT. Our honest opinion is that if this cake pop were any smaller, it would totally NOT be worth the price, but since it’s huge, easily shareable, and tastes great, we say it’s worth it if you’re someone who really loves cake and easy, portable treats! OK, Epic Universe, WE SEE YOU. From the Ziploc bag (yes, we’re still taking about that) to the super-sized cake pop portion, this was a surprising winner! More Recent Epic Universe News! 20. The age-old question when planning a Disney World vacation — should I purchase the Disney Dining Plan? Cinderella Castle Ever since the Disney Dining Plan returned in 2024, it has been a hot topic for people traveling to Disney World. You can add this offering to your Disney Resort package, but it may not be worth the cost if you don’t price out your meals and snacks the right way. However, no matter how I slice it, the Disney Dining Plan doesn’t seem to be worth the cost for me personally — here’s why. For a little breakdown, there are two Disney Dining Plan options for your vacation. First is the Quick Service Dining Plan, which includes the following: Two quick service dining credits per person, per day One snack credit per person, per day One resort refillable mug per person Restaurantosaurus If you go with the other option, the Disney Standard Dining Plan, you’ll get the following: One quick service dining credit per person, per day One table service dining credit per person, per day One snack credit per person, per day One resort refillable mug per person Time to dig in! If you price out the Dining Plans by day for 2025, the Quick Service Dining Plan is priced at $59.14 per person, per night of your stay. The Standard Dining Plan is will cost you $97.70 per person, per night of your stay. Full spread from our meal at Cinderella’s Royal Table Those seem like fairly high numbers per day, right? Well, with each meal credit, you get an entree and a drink. So that’s two entrees, two drinks, and a snack per day. To break even or “make” money with the Dining Plan, you’ll usually have to order some of the more expensive options available to you. And for me…that doesn’t really work out. Mickey Premium Ice Cream Bar Often, the most expensive drink option available for adults is an alcoholic beverage. And me personally? I don’t drink alcohol. So if I purchased the Dining Plan and tried to get my best value just by ordering sodas and other cheaper drinks, I’m likely going to come up short of breaking even. Drink in Disney World For example, if I got the Quick Service Dining Plan and went to Magic Kingdom, I could order the following: Columbia Harbour House Lobster Roll — $18.99 Columbia Harbour House Fountain Beverage — $4.79 Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn & Cafe Double Barbecue Bacon Cheeseburger — $16.19 Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn & Cafe Fountain Beverage — $4.79 Sleepy Hollow Mickey Waffle with Chocolate-Hazelnut Spread, Bananas, Berries, and Whipped Cream (snack credit) — $9.49 If you add all those items up, my total only comes up to $54.25 pre-tax. That’s $5 short of the minimum I need to hit to break even, and I was choosing some of the most expensive items available for each credit! Sleepy Hollow Waffle But if I were ordering alcoholic beverages instead, those drinks would be more valuable. Of course, you can’t order alcohol at Magic Kingdom quick service spots, so you may still come in a little short there, but you’d likely be able to break even or “make” money at the other four parks or during Magic Kingdom table service meals. Alcoholic beverages So, for a non-drinker like me, I’d be doing a lot of math AND I’d have a very limited range of dining options in order to get my money’s worth with the Dining Plan. (You know, ordering the most expensive entree everywhere I go.) That’s why I choose to do my dining out of pocket when I go to Disney World! 23. I dropped a small fortune on a Disney dinner…and honestly? I’d do it again in a heartbeat. It’s Fancy Dinner Time This wasn’t just any Disney restaurant. This was Victoria & Albert’s Chef’s Table — the ultra-exclusive, AAA Five-Diamond fine dining experience that’s basically the holy grail of Disney foodie dreams. After months of planning, we scored one of the most coveted reservations in all of Disney World — and after multiple unforgettable courses, these are the five things that impressed me the most. Ultra-Exclusive, Bucket-List-Level Access Victoria & Albert’s Chef Table isn’t just hard to get into. It’s almost impossible. Victoria and Albert’s Chef’s Table Only Has One Seating Per Night Reservations open 60 days in advance (or 60 days + your resort stay, if you’re on property), but even then, you won’t find this one on the Disney website or app. Nope. You’ve got to call — like, actually speak to a real human being. It’s the most analog thing about Disney dining, and that’s saying something. Chef’s Table Experience The Chef’s Table only seats one party of up to 8 for each of the two nightly seatings (5:30PM or 8:05PM, Tuesday through Saturday). So yeah, this isn’t something you book casually. But if you manage to lock it in? It’s a Disney brag like no other. A Front-Row View into a Real Working Kitchen Most Disney restaurants are themed to feel like you’re backstage. At the Chef’s Table, you actually are. Watch a working kitchen After checking in, we were escorted through the Dining Room and into the heart of the kitchen, where a full brigade of chefs literally stopped what they were doing to applaud our arrival. No joke. A maître d’ formally announced our entrance, and it felt like stepping into a royal court. It can get really busy in the kitchen From our seats, we watched as dishes were plated with tweezers and liquid nitrogen was poured like stage fog. Chefs would come over to describe the courses they’d just finished preparing. It was like a backstage tour and dinner show all in one. THE infamous Chef’s Table Oh, and if you need to leave the table during dinner? You get an escort — yes, through the kitchen — to make sure you don’t trip over anyone’s foie gras. Menus That Are Completely Tailored to YOU Before our reservation, the restaurant reached out to confirm dietary restrictions and celebrations. I told them it was my birthday and that I didn’t eat shellfish. That’s it. But from the moment we sat down, it was clear they’d remembered. Personalized Menu My husband’s menu featured dishes like crab and lobster, while mine was 100% shellfish-free — but every course was equally stunning and flavorful. At the end of the meal, they even surprised me with a delicate pastry presentation to mark my birthday. No singing, no button, no fuss — just elegance. Cheers to a bucket list experience Food That Was Actually Worth the Hype I’ve eaten at a lot of Disney restaurants over the years. Some good, some forgettable. This? This was a different universe. Amuse Bouche trio We started with an amuse bouche trio — a sweet potato with lomo ibérico and a persimmon glaze, followed by a panisse on plantain purée, and finished with a Venison Carpaccio, Red Cabbage, and Rutabaga. All gone quickly, but each one told its own story. Venison Carpaccio We moved through course after course: Royal Belgian Caviar, Koji-aged Quail, A5 Wagyu beef, a playful “Reuben” pastrami bite. Each plate felt like a piece of art, and somehow, we weren’t full — just ready for more. Koji-Aged Quail Dessert was another event entirely. Raspberry Bakewell tarts, pomegranate pâte de fruit, balsamic fig ganache, and gingerbread madeleines appeared like magic. Dessert Trio Service That Made Us Feel Like Disney Royalty From the second we pulled up to valet, it was clear this wasn’t just a dinner — it was a full-on experience. The staff remembered our names, refilled our water without us noticing, and made us feel like this was our restaurant for the night. The service is impeccable Chef de Cuisine Matthew Sowers runs the show, but even if he’s not there on your night, the team’s precision and passion is unmistakable. Ours was led by Chef Miguel, and everything that came from his side of the kitchen was flawless. Final Thoughts Victoria & Albert’s Chef’s Table isn’t for every Disney trip. It’s expensive. It’s hard to get. And it’s not something you walk into without planning. Chef’s Table room But if you’re looking for a once-in-a-lifetime experience — something that feels like a special occasion all by itself — it delivers. Every second, every course, every interaction was intentional and extraordinary. Keep following DisneyFoodBlog for all of your Disney news. 25. Disneyland Resort had the privilege to once again host Marines and Sailors in port for Los Angeles Fleet Week — a salute to members of the U.S. Sea Services held over Memorial Day Weekend each year — by surprising 100 service members with a day at Disneyland Resort. The Sailors and Marines had the chance to “celebrate happy” during the Disneyland Resort 70th Celebration by enjoying attractions inside Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge and Mickey’s Toontown. They even got to experience the returning “Paint the Night” parade and “Wondrous Journeys” nighttime spectacular. Service members also had the opportunity to meet Mickey Mouse in his brand new 70th attire in front of Sleeping Beauty Castle. Flag Retreat Ceremony Most notably, cast members and guests alike had the chance to honor their valiant service with a special flag retreat ceremony in Town Square, accompanied by the Disneyland Band, The Dapper Dans and special honoree, Rear Admiral Richard W. Meyer, Deputy Commander of the U.S. Third Fleet, U.S. Navy. “How many times in your life do you have the opportunity to actually get to participate in the events that are happening at Disneyland, The Happiest Place on Earth?” said Rear Admiral Meyer. “To be able to come here, share that with the public, participate in the events, get to see some of the cool new things at Disneyland, and really get to show off the Sailors and Marines to the community — it’s really a chance to do that and I think that’s what made this a really special day.” Daily flag retreat ceremonies have been an integral part of Disney parks operations since the opening of Disneyland park nearly 70 years ago, and at Magic Kingdom Park since its opening in 1971. This beloved tradition continues with security cast members raising and lowering the American flag each day and entertainment cast members contributing musical performances to bring emotion to the time-honored ritual. Over the years, Disneyland Resort has honored countless service members, veterans and their families, including Fleet Week Sailors and Marines last year. It is an honor for the Disneyland Resort to host and create happiness for these service members who work tirelessly to defend our country. “Disney really embraces our veterans, and it’s been part of the DNA of the Disneyland Resort. You see it everywhere you go — from the flag retreat to Veteran’s Day to Fleet Week 2025 — it’s always at the forefront of what we do here every day,” said Ariel Elias, category manager, Disneyland Resort, and U.S. Marine Corps veteran. Honoring and Remembering the Fallen While Disneyland was thrilled to create happiness for these service members, it was important to take a moment to remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice for their country heading into Memorial Day Weekend. One of the ways Disney recognizes these fallen heroes is by displaying Missing Hero Tables, which are meant to symbolize and honor those brave service members who never made it home. At Disneyland park, a dedicated a Missing Hero Table at Tiana’s Palace was reserved to honor the brave and selfless American military members who gave their lives in service to our country or went missing in action and have not found their way back home. Here are just a few of the aspects of the Missing Hero tables:   A slice of lemon on the bread plate reminds us of the bitter fate of those who will never return.  A pinch of salt symbolizes the tears endured by those who have sacrificed all.  An inverted glass is symbolic of those who cannot toast with us at this time.  The chair is empty, the seat that remains unclaimed at the table.  “The Missing Hero Tables we display at this time are meant to be a strong visual symbol of those who are no longer with us, that those who see them may stop for a moment to reflect and hopefully show appreciation for the freedoms we enjoy due to the great sacrifice that these many heroes have given for us,” explained Disneyland Resort main entrance operations manager and U.S. Navy veteran, Nick Filippone.   VoluntEARS, Sailors, and Marines Give Back during LA Fleet Week Ahead of LA Fleet Week, Disney VoluntEARS had the opportunity to work alongside the U.S. Coast Guard, U.S. Navy and U.S. Marine Corps for a special clean-up project at the Boys and Girls Club of Garden Grove. Since 2012, Disney has contributed funding and media support to nonprofit organizations that focus on creating happiness for veterans and military families.   The company is grateful to not only get to recognize heroes within Disney parks but also through charitable giving and relationships with organizations like the USO, Blue Star Families, Fisher House, and Student Veterans of America, or through hiring initiatives like Heroes Work Here.  Learn more about how Disney champions veterans and military families at impact.disney.com. 28. Raise your hand if you love a Disney parade! I know I do! Announced last August at D23 EXPO, “Disney Starlight: Dream the Night Away” is the new nighttime parade coming to Walt Disney World this summer. While we’re eagerly awaiting to see “Disney Starlight” light up the streets of Magic Kingdom, I had the chance to speak with the creative team behind the magic to share everything we have to look forward to soon. What is “Disney Starlight” about? “Disney Starlight” transports guests into the stories of our beloved Disney characters. Through the power of the Blue Fairy’s magic, you’ll watch dreams and wishes come true. As the lights dance from float to float, you’ll see favorite classic and contemporary characters from Walt Disney Animation Studios and Disney Pixar films, some for the very first time in a Disney Live Entertainment nighttime parade! Brought to life by the creative hands and hearts at Disney Live Entertainment, “Disney Starlight” is the perfect continuation of our legacy of nighttime parades, with bits of nostalgia sprinkled throughout a dazzling procession that raises the bar for the future. This idea holds true for every part of this parade, not only in the float design, but in the music, choreography, and more. With several members of the creative team having worked on fan-favorites such as “Main Street Electrical Parade” and “SpectroMagic,” you will see the inspiration from ever-iconic electrical parades of years past. “Disney Starlight: Dream the Night Away” recalls the nostalgia of nighttime spectaculars with innovation lighting the way for a magical experience like never before. What Characters Can We See in “Disney Starlight?” From the moment the Blue Fairy’s magic wand lights up the night, dreams will come to life with an enchanting order of floats with these fantastic friends: The Blue Fairy Peter Pan & Wendy Asha La Familia Madrigal (Mirabel, Isabella, Bruno) Elsa Aurora and Prince Phillip, Tiana and Prince Naveen, Belle and the Beast, and Cinderella and Prince Charming Miguel and Pepita Moana There’s still more to come to this magical list, but this is the order you can look for soon! When is “Disney Starlight” Coming to Magic Kingdom? It won’t be long before the music swells and the twinkling lights flicker, so stay tuned to the Disney Parks Blog for more!
