Traveling can be tricky, but we’re here to provide some tips and clarity! Let’s go somewhere! Whether you’re flying to Disney World or anywhere else in the world, it’s important to be familiar with Transportation Security Administration (TSA) rules well before even going to the airport. You need to know what you can and cannot pack so that you can avoid any trouble when checking a bag and going through security. With that in mind, we’re keeping you up-to-date with a recent change to the TSA checked bag policy. Per reports, the TSA recently issued a ban on packing portable chargers with lithium-ion batteries in checked luggage. Baggage claim! You can still pack lithium-ion battery-based products in your carry-on, so they aren’t totally banned. In fact, some popular airlines have already practiced this policy for some time, so it’s definitely not unprecedented. Orlando Airport The reasoning behind this ban is that lithium-ion batteries can overheat easily, short-circuit, spark, and cause fires. According to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), the rule applies to “Power Banks, cell phone battery charging cases, rechargeable and non-rechargeable lithium batteries, cell phone batteries, laptop batteries, power banks, external batteries, [and] portable rechargers.” As far as potential cabin fires, “Flight crews are trained to recognize and respond to lithium battery fires in the cabin. Passengers should notify flight crew immediately if their lithium battery or device is overheating, expanding, smoking or burning.” ©Southwest Airlines The FAA explained that, “Spare (uninstalled) lithium ion and lithium metal batteries, including power banks and cell phone battery charging cases, must be carried in carry-on baggage only. When a carry-on bag is checked at the gate or at planeside, all spare lithium batteries and power banks must be removed from the bag and kept with the passenger in the aircraft cabin. The battery terminals must be protected from short circuit.” Size restrictions are as follows: Lithium metal (non-rechargeable) batteries are limited to 2 grams of lithium per battery. Lithium-ion (rechargeable) batteries are limited to a rating of 100 watt hours (Wh) per battery. Per the FAA, “With airline approval, passengers may also carry up to two spare larger lithium ion batteries (101–160 Wh) or Lithium metal batteries (2-8 grams). This size covers the larger after-market extended-life laptop computer batteries and some larger batteries used in professional audio/visual equipment.” Portable battery For more information on what you can and cannot pack in a checked bag, please visit the TSA and FAA official websites. Who’s ready for the most spectacular, incredible, absolutely amazing summer at Disney World? We sure are! Hi Pluto! To kick off the summer, Disney World is changing up the parks to bring in new experiences, and we’re ready to tie on our dancing shoes and get down with Stitch on the dance floor. Disney is hosting Cool Kid Summer from May 27th to September 1st and will give kids fun ways to experience the park. Starting off, you should be on the lookout for new kid zones! These will be pop-up entertainment with games, music, dancing, and lots of fun for the little ones of the group. One will be Big Top Bash at Storybook Circus, where DJ Ringmaster hosts a summertime dance party! Pluto will be there ready to play kid-friendly midway-style games with even more activities inside Big Top Souvenirs. Storybook Circus Over at Tomorrowland, Galactic Blast will be at the Rocket Tower Plaza Stage with appearances from our favorite alien, Stitch! Dance it out with Stitch and then head into Merchant of Venus for indoor crafts inspired by the Pixar film Elio, which you can catch in theaters on June 20th. Stitch at Tomorrowland You’ll also be able to meet your favorite characters even earlier in the parks. If you’re staying at a Disney Resort and plan on going to the parks during Early Theme Park Entry, characters will be out meeting and greeting. Nothing gets us out of bed faster than knowing our favorite characters will be waiting for us at Disney World. Donald and Daisy! In Hollywood Studios, Animation Courtyard is bringing in the fun with magicians and jump rope performers. “Get animated with games and crafts, or conquer an imaginary obstacle course in interactive fun with characters.” Mickey and fan-favorite Disney Junior friends will attend the indoor DJ dance party, too. Disney Jr EPCOT is turning CommuniCore Hall into GoofyCore! A DJ will be playing fun tunes, and little ones can join in on games with a Goofy Twist. You can play Loopy Limbo and Parachutes ‘n’ Pipsqueaks. Hiya Goofy! Even Animal Kingdom is getting in on the fun! Disney Characters will be helping with nature-based adventures where you can earn a limited-time Wilderness Explorers badge. A Dino Institute Intern will be throwing A Celebration Sing-Along at Discovery Island, as well. Earth Day Badge from 2022 Woah! That’s a lot coming to Disney World for the little ones this summer! It’s no secret that you can get some good cocktails in Disney World. Espresso martini from Enchanted Rose Lounge We’ve certainly got our favorites, too, from boozy Dole Whips to margaritas from La Cava del Tequila to Frozen Viking Coffee in Norway in EPCOT. We’ve also been known to drink around the World (hasn’t everyone?). But sometimes, you want to mix your liquor with something a little more caffeinated, and that’s where the delicious espresso martini comes in. So if you’re craving an espresso martini in Disney World, we’re going to tell you EVERYWHERE you can get one. Okay, so before we give you the FULL list of where you can grab an espresso martini in Disney World, we’ve got to shout out a few of the espresso martinis that go above and beyond. First, just look at this gorgeous espresso martini from Enchanted Rose at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. The ingredients are fairly basi (Stoli Vanilla Vodka, Espresso, and Bols Crème de Cacao Liqueur), but the presentation is INCREDIBLE. It’s got a Mickey on it. Espresso Martini at Enchanted Rose We also have to share the espresso martini at Wailulu Bar and Grill at Island Tower at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort. This martini is made with Mr. Black Cold Brew Liqueur and Joffrey’s Coffee Espresso, but it’s also got SelvaRey Chocolate Rum in it to give it a nice chocolatey flavor. YUM. We haven’t tried this one yet, but it’s on our list. Wailulu Bar & Grill! Trattoria al Forno at Disney’s BoardWalk Inn also has a unique concoction called the Menta Espresso Martini made with Fernet Branca Menta Liqueur, Antica Sweet Vermouth, and Espresso. Vermouth isn’t something you see often in espresso martinis, but it sounds like a good combination! Trattoria al Forno Another unique espresso martini can be found at The BOATHOUSE at Disney Springs. It’s made with 360 Madagascar Vanilla Vodka, Kahlua, Liquor 43, Espresso — yep, Kahlua in an espresso martini — it’s GENIUS. Finally, Barcelona Lounge at Disney’s Coronado Springs has an espresso martini worth mentioning. This one has tequila in it, and it’s made with Flecha Azul Reposado Tequila, Tia Maria Liqueur, and Joffrey’s Cold Brew Coffee. Barcelona Lounge Okay, let’s get to that full list now. Here’s everywhere you can order an espresso martini in Disney World: Several Joffrey’s locations Tutto Italia in EPCOT– Vanilla vodka, coffee liqueur, Italian espresso Enchanted Rose at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa – Stoli Vanilla Vodka, Espresso, and Bols Crème de Cacao Liqueur Toledo at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort – Stoli Vanil Vodka, Bols Crème de Cacao White Liqueur, Simple Syrup, Espresso Dahlia Lounge at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort – Stoli Vanil Vodka, Bols Crème de Cacao White Liqueur, Simple Syrup, and Espresso Barcelona Lounge – Flecha Azul Reposado Tequila, Tia Maria Liqueur, Joffrey’s Cold Brew Coffee Cheers! Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto Not to be confused with Trader Sam’s Enchanted Tiki Bar, which is located over in Disneyland (and we love it just as much!), which can sometimes be difficult as one location may get a new item, but the other doesn’t. Are you ready for a little peek behind the scenes? I go to Disney World for my job! I’m a Disney World reporter for Disney Food Blog, and that means I spend a lot of time in the theme parks — ESPECIALLY dining at restaurants. It’s my job to review dining locations all around the resort, and since starting here in 2020, I’ve been to quite a few locations. What people probably don’t know is that it can actually be challenging to review restaurants for a living…and character meals are the most difficult of all! You may say, “Lydia, what do you mean? There’s no way it’s actually HARD to do dining reviews. You get paid to eat delicious food and take pictures of it.” And while that description is technically true, there’s a lot more to the process than you think! Breakfast plate from Crystal Palace When it comes to dining at table service locations, the clock starts as soon as I check into the restaurant. I have to begin by taking photos of the atmosphere — the exterior, the waiting area, the menu, and the dining rooms. You’ve likely seen all of these kinds of pictures in restaurant reviews our team has written before, but you probably didn’t think about how much time it takes to snap those photos AND to get b-roll for our YouTube channel and footage for our social media team at the same time. Plaza Restaurant Once the food arrives, it’s a rush to get all the pictures and footage we need of all the items before they get too cold. Of course, during this process, I’m probably taking dozens of photos total, and the other guests are looking at me weird, and the waiter has already stopped by to ask me if my food is good twice, but I haven’t even taken a bite yet. (BREATHE, Lydia, breathe!) Seriously, it’s like my own little dining marathon. But if a regular table service meal is a marathon, then the Disney World character meals are my OLYMPICS. Hey, Chef Mickey! Character meals are a whole new beast when it comes to food reviews, because between all the photos of the food and the taste notes and interacting with your server, you ALSO have to find time to photograph and video each character and think of fun ways to interact with them! These are typically my longest dining reviews because there’s just so much to cover. Pluto! Things get even more challenging if I’m reviewing a character meal with a buffet — that requires photos of all the items on the buffet (so that you guys know what’s available at the restaurant!), as well as YouTube footage. And I can’t just walk up and hold up the line to film and snap pics. I do my best to wait until the buffet is emptier before I try to capture any content. Tusker House Dining reviews are a big part of my job here at DFB, so over the past few years, I’ve gotten pretty good at them! With lots of practice, you learn how to be efficient, how to find the best lighting, and how to have the best character meal interactions. And of course, I’ve had plenty of opportunities to eat some delicious food along the way! Chef Mickey’s For our list of top Disney World restaurants for 2025, check out the video below! A Walt Disney World holiday production and a former UCF professor and Disney executive were among the recipients of Brass Ring Awards, honors presented by IAAPA. “What’s This? Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas Singalong,” part of the Disney Jollywood Nights event at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, was named most creative winter holiday production. The show features music and characters from the 1993 film directed by Burton. One of three Inspiration Awards was given posthumously to Duncan Dickson, who was a professor in the Rosen College of Hospitality Management at the University of Central Florida for more than 20 years and the director of casting at Walt Disney World for almost 20 years before that. Dickson died in 2024. Those were the only Orlando-oriented winners in the global competition, which salutes excellence in live entertainment, food and beverage, marketing, human resources, sustainability games and merchandise within the attractions industry. Winners were announced during the 2025 IAAPA Honors event at Europa-Park in Rust, Germany. Universal Studios Hollywood won for most creative Halloween production with “The Purge: Dangerous Waters,” which was staged during the theme park’s Halloween Horror Nights event, and Universal Beijing Resort was honored for best creative atmosphere production with “Universal’s Half Time Show.” Winning in three categories were Europa-Park for its “20 Jahre Colosseo” (most creative spectacular), best health and wellness program and best innovation in training; and Morey’s Piers and Water Parks of New Jersey for customized game prize, visual merchandise display and custom retail souvenir for Curley’s Fries Dog Toys. We just got some BIG news about Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party coming back to Magic Kingdom this year, and it’s time to wrap up all we know and put a nice, big, slightly spooky bow on it! Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party Disney just officially confirmed the party WILL return to the park this year, so let’s go over EVERYTHING we know so we’re all on the same page, and feel as prepared as possible before we book our trips! What is it? Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is an after-hours event that takes place on select nights in Magic Kingdom during the Halloween season. It is an extra cost, but you don’t have to purchase a regular park ticket to be eligible to purchase a party ticket — in fact, many times we recommend ONLY purchasing a party ticket, since you can enter the park as early as 4 PM before the party officially begins. Jack and Sally! You’ll get to snack on tons of exclusive party eats and drinks, meet some of your favorite rare characters, see a fantastic Halloween parade that only happens during the party, see specialty entertainment shows (including fireworks), and so much more! For Halloween lovers who don’t like things to be on the scary side, this party is a great choice to celebrate the season. When is it Happening? This year, you can purchase a ticket to experience Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party on the following dates: August 15th, 17th, 19th, 22nd, 24th, 26th, 29th September 2nd, 5th, 7th, 9th, 12th, 14th, 16th, 19th, 21st, 23rd, 25th, 26th, 28th, 30th October 2nd, 3rd, 5th, 7th, 9th, 10th, 13th, 14th, 16th, 17th, 19th, 23rd, 24th, 26th, 28th, 30th, 31st\ Hocus Pocus Stage Show October dates are often the fastest to sell out AND are the most expensive (which we’ll get into that below), so if you’re eying those dates, you’ll want to act fast when tickets go on sale starting on May 15th for Walt Disney World Resort hotels, Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Hotels, and Shades of Green. All other guests can purchase tickets beginning on May 22nd. How Much Does it Cost? Unfortunately, Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party tickets have seen a price increase this year. The price varies depending on what date you choose (weekend days and dates closer to Halloween are often more expensive), but they’ll range from $119 to $229 per ticket, plus tax this year. Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party fireworks While Annual Passholders and Disney Vacation Club Members can save $10 per ticket, this discount is only valid for select dates in August and September, which is something to keep in mind if you want to take advantage of that discount while booking. Who Can I Meet? While we’re still waiting on a list of all the meet and greets you’ll be able to experience, we know for sure that: Jack and Sally will be meeting at “one of the many character stops that feature exclusive meet-and-greet opportunities” Mickey and Minnie will be meeting TOGETHER for the first time ever in their Halloween outfits at Tony’s Town Square Theater Mickey at his very own 2024 Not-So-Scary Halloween Party In the past, we’ve also seen meet and greets with characters like: The Hundred Acre Woods pals in their Halloween costumes near The Many Adventures of Winnie The Pooh Tweedledee and Tweedledum AND Alice and The Queen of Hearts near Mad Tea Party Villains like The Evil Queen and Maleficent in Princess Fairytale Hall Maleficent at Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party Disney has also said to “keep your eyes peeled because you may see new and returning Disney Villains appear as you creep by through the streets.” Potential roaming characters? Count us IN, Disney! Tell Me About That Special Food! While we’re still waiting for full menus to be released for this event, we do have a sneak peek at some of the snacks you’ll be able to try during this special event! You’ll be able to try: Madame Leota Séance Candle: Red Velvet Cake and Cookies and Cream Mousse Mickey-shaped Cheesecake: Pumpkin Cheesecake with Graham Cracker Crust and White Chocolate-whipped Ganache Beef Short Rib with Purple Potatoes: Braised with Red Wine, Figs, Peppers, and a touch of Dark Chocolate Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party 2024 We’re looking forward to getting the full list of new snacks and drinks we’ll be able to try, so stay tuned! What Else is There To Do? In addition to meeting characters and snacking away, you can also experience some extra special entertainment during the event AND go trick or treating! Trick or treating will take place at a dozen different treat trail stops, and this year, Disney says “guests can expect even more fun than ever before with some familiar (and fiendish) faces” along the trails! At each stop, Cast Members give out massive handfuls of Mars Wrigley candy, like M&Ms, Snickers and Starburst, and guests with allergies can grab a teal bag and collect teal tokens at each locations to redeem for allergy-friendly treats at Allergy-Friendly Centers. Trick or treating! We also got confirmation about the entertainment returning to the party this year! Mickey’s Boo-to-You Halloween Parade returns in all its glory. Its led by Mickey and Minnie and you’ll get a chance to see waltzing ghosts, Disney Princesses and treacherous villains, as well as rare characters! The parade will take place at 8:15 PM to allow for little ones to enjoy it as well before it gets too late for them. This is not a drill—our latest Loungefly obsession just dropped online, and we had to spread the news! Time to go shopping! Whether you’re headed to the parks or simply adding a dash of Disney magic to your day, this adorable (or terrifying) accessory is ready to turn heads and totally steal your heart. Let’s check it out! DISCLOSURE: This post may contain affiliate links, meaning when you click the links and make a purchase, we receive a commission. This Newest Mickye Mouse Loungefly ©Disney Let’s be real: this bag is a lot. It’s bold, it’s glossy, and it’s literally Mickey’s entire face staring directly at you in 3D. One part adorable, one part slightly chaotic, and 100% conversation-starter, this Mickey Mouse Loungefly Bag is giving total main character energy in the most unexpected way. The bag is designed with an adjustable shoulder strap that’s also detachable, making it perfect for comfort and customization, which we totally adore. ©Disney The inside of the bag features an all-over Mickey Mouse print that is truly adorable, adding a dash of classic Disney style that totally balances out the bag’s slightly spooky stare. And while it’s compact enough for your daily essentials, it still packs a punch as a bold, head-turning statement piece that can elevate just about any outfit and bring out your inner Mouseketeer. ©Disney Honestly, this bag is like someone took Mickey straight out of a classic cartoon short and turned him into a shiny, wearable sculpture. Which… might be genius? Or a little scary? Possibly both? You let us know how you feel. Regardless, this bag is a total mouse-terpiece and perfect for any Mickey Mouse lover. We cannot wait to see this bag out and about at the parks. We know it’ll leave folks absolutely mouse-merized! (Apologies for the mouse puns, I know it’s cheesy). Shop from Disney Store We’re always on the lookout for the newest and most mouse-tacular Disney merch, so stay tuned to us here on DFB for more! Like what you see? Some groundbreaking research is taking flight at the EPCOT International Flower and Garden Festival to protect one of the most beloved insect species, the North American monarch butterfly. These colorful insects are wearing teeny, tiny baby backpacks! Well, sort of. These radio telemetry tags, or “backpacks” as our Conservation Team calls them, are roughly the same size as a tiny grain of rice! “They use that same radio frequency, just like our phones,” said Morgan, Disney’s Conservation Programs Manager and one of the lead researchers focused on the monarch butterfly. “It’s the same type of tech that has been used for a bunch of different animals. It’s just now for the first time, small enough to use on teeny, tiny, little insects.” But what exactly is our Conservation Team studying? Monarch caterpillars’ favorite food, milkweed! The backpacks allow our conservationists to track the monarchs’ movement and preference for their favorite food so we can learn more about their taste for different types of milkweeds. What’s The Difference? A major threat to the monarch butterfly species is their increasing exposure to a parasite commonly known as OE, which monarch butterflies can be exposed to from eating tropical milkweed. While native milkweed dies back in the winter, tropical milkweed does not. So, when monarch butterfly larvae hatch on the tropical milkweed leaves, they ingest high levels of leftover OE that has built up over time. OE negatively impacts almost every aspect of butterfly life, and research estimates that about 80% of Florida monarchs have the disease. Disney Conservation Director Dr. Zak is the Program Lead for the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA) Saving Animals From Extinction (SAFE) Program for the monarch butterfly, which has been adopted by over 100 other AZA-accredited facilities nationwide. The SAFE program for monarch butterflies seeks to recover and sustain monarch populations by fostering healthy breeding and migratory environments and provide them with safe places to be dormant for the winter. Dr. Zak’s guidance and direction is just another example of Disney being a leader and trailblazer in species conservation and working hand in hand with the AZA. “Disney is really a major player when it comes to the impact we can have on wildlife through our science and our subject-matter expertise that we have by being part of the AZA community,” said Dr. Zak. Dr. Zak’s team intends to share the knowledge gained from this research with other partner AZA facilities so they too can provide the best habitats for monarch butterflies. Where To See This Research? Perhaps the best part of this cutting-edge research is the fact that guests can see it for themselves at the EPCOT International Flower and Garden Festival. Guests can view the process every Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. outside Butterfly Landing, located near Journey Into Imagination With Figment in World Celebration. Keep a sharp eye out to see if you can spot the baby backpacks on these beautiful monarchs! For the latest updates on the monarch butterfly and all the animals at Walt Disney World Resort, follow Dr. Mark Penning on Instagram and Disney’s Animals, Science and Environment Facebook page. Everyone goes to Disney World to get great sleep, right? An empty Magic Kingdom during After Hours Okay, so maybe that’s not entirely true…but that still doesn’t mean folks can’t get a good nap in from time to time at the Disney Parks. While nap spots at the park are never truly permanent, there are some spots that are especially reliable for seriel nappers! In fact, we’re sharing some of our favorite spots with YOU! Magic Kingdom is the most popular theme park in the world, and, as such, there are plenty of great spots for pro cat nappers! Cinderella Castle The Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover is a fan-favorite when it comes to taking a nap. This underrated attraction is incredible to experience when you’re wide awake, but we can’t blame anyone who wants to take a nap while this relaxing ride takes you on a calm journey around and through Tomorrowland. PeopleMover Many people have strong opinions about The Hall of Presidents, but our strongest opinion is that it’s a top-notch spot to knock out for a bit. This attraction is indoor, air-conditioned, and not really packed with anything exciting enough to wake you up from a deep slumber. When it comes to resting, few places are better. The Hall of Presidents Another indoor show that’s air-conditioned and incredibly calm is Walt Disney’s Carousel of Progress in Tomorrowland. Sure, you do rotate between each scene and “There’s A Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow” is a catchy jingle that could wake you up due to a subconscious need to sing along, but there’s no denying that this peaceful and reassuring attraction is a great place to catch some Zs. Carousel of Progress The Charging Station near Storybook Circus is not only a great way to save your phone’s battery, but also rest up while you wait for your phone to charge up! Provide your own charging cord, plug in, put your feet up, and relax! Did you know this was in Magic Kingdom? We’re finally leaving Magic Kingdom and heading over to EPCOT for our next pick! The American Adventure in World Showcase features 35 Audio-Animatronics figures, digital rear-projection images on a 72-foot screen, and patriotic songs. If history’s not your thing, this attraction is PERFECT, as you’ll get an opportunity to close your eyes and tune out the chaos of a theme park for a bit. American Adventure Over at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Vacation Fun – An Original Animated Short with Mickey & Minnie is really cute and endearing. The show celebrates Mickey and Minnie’s favorite vacation memories and mixes in clips from fan-favorites like Panda-monium, Couples Sweaters, Potatoland, Croissant de Triomphe, Entombed, Dumb Luck, Al Rojo Vivo, Yodelburg, and Outback at Ya!. It’s also in an air-conditioned theater, making it a great place to snooze. Vacation Fun Finally, at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, Na’vi River Journey in Pandora is as peaceful as it gets. Not quite a thrill ride, this boat attraction takes you into the world of Avatar with vibrant colors, screen effects, and a really cool animatronic. There’s debate among Disney fans as to whether this ride is worth the wait or not, but if the goal is to get a great nap in, then the answer is a definitive YES! Trick or Treating at Mickey’s Not-So-Scary For some of us, our Halloween dreams include a bag overflowing with candy. Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is one of the best trick-or-treat destinations, with over a dozen treat trail stops marked on your party map. And this year, guests can expect even more fun than ever before with some familiar (and fiendish) faces surprising guests along the trails. At each stop, cast members in their famously adorable Halloween costumes give out handfuls of Mars Wrigley favorites like M&Ms, Snickers and Starburst. And no worries if you forgot your pumpkin bucket at home: Each guest will receive complimentary treat bags for candy collection (that includes adults). Guests with food allergies can also join in the fun at every stop. Grab a teal bag from a Cast Member and collect teal tokens along the trail to redeem your fill of allergy-free candy at Allergy-Friendly Centers. Trick-or-treaters do not have to be in costume to collect candy. Guests are encouraged to dress up in creative Halloween costumes. Be sure to follow official costume guidelines and get BOOtiful costume tips from planDisney. Mickey’s Boo-to-You Halloween Parade There was a time before sparking shovels incited a bone-chilling response, and then you watched Mickey’s Boo-to-You Parade. In this whimsical production, Mickey, Minnie and their friends have donned cute costumes to lead a parade of waltzing ghosts, Disney Princesses and treacherous villains. Guests can expect to see rare characters like Pain & Panic from Disney’s “Hercules,” and Vanellope from “Wreck-It Ralph.” In 2025, the Mickey’s Boo-to-You Parade will again take place at 8:15 PM to allow plenty of time for little ones to enjoy the celebration. Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular It’s been three hundred years, right down to the day … or it seems that long since we’ve seen the Sanderson Sisters take the stage. This fan-favorite show is both hilarious and bone-chilling as Winifred, Sarah, and Mary try their haphazard best to cast a spell. It turns out that they need a little help from their friends, who happen to be some of the most nefarious Disney Villains, including the likes of Hades, Cruella De Vil, Jafar, Dr. Facilier and The Evil Queen. Guests will help add ingredients to the cauldron with lots of clapping and singing along. Disney’s Not So Spooky Spectacular As the party creeps closer to the witching hour, guests are invited to a spooky story time with the Pumpkin King himself, Jack Skellington, who has transformed Cinderella Castle into a haunted house. Watch as Zero leads Mickey and Friends inside, where spiderwebs, skeletons and Grim Grinning Ghosts await. Dazzling projections will transform the castle into a spooky fantasy while the sky comes alive with fireworks. Get ready for towering encounters with Ursula, The Queen of Hearts, and Oogie Boogie. Will Mickey and Friends make it out of Jack’s haunted house this time? Stay Tuned: Food, New Merch, and Lively Cadavers Once again, a few of your favorite rides are getting a grim overlay. Expect spellbinding transformations with special lighting and music. Check back to see which attractions are getting the Halloween treatment. Speaking of scream-worthy experiences, get ready to groove at a new dance party with the music and moves of “Zombies 4” and more “Zombies” fan favorites. And a little spider told us that the Cadaver Dans will be back again this year to sing in soulful harmony. In addition to festive candy apples and popcorn guests can always find in the park, our chefs are plotting and planning a new menu of specialty Halloween food and drink for even the most frightening of appetites. Our upcoming Foodie Guide will have all the ghoulish details. Exclusive party merch will also be available for purchase at Magic Kingdom to commemorate your not-so-scary night of macabre memories. Magic Kingdom is full of dozens of quick service and table service restaurants that may be perfect for you and your travel party on vacation, but we’ll be honest and say that this park isn’t commonly known for its outstanding dining options. Plaza Restaurant One of the classic Magic Kingdom table service spots is located on Main Street, U.S.A., right near Cinderella Castle, called The Plaza Restaurant. This spot is home to some classic American eats, and while it isn’t often high up on our list of favorites, it’s often a solid meal we don’t dislike. But is this new dessert addition a reason to book a reservation here? We found out! Over at The Plaza Restaurant, you can find the new S’mores Cake for $10. This is a chocolate cake with chocolate ganache, toasted graham cracker crumbs, and toasted marshmallow mousse. S’mores Cake We had MULTIPLE waiters stop by our table to ask us how we were enjoying the cake, or telling us it was one of their favorites! We weren’t sure if it was because the cake was new, or because they saw us taking so many photos and videos for our coverage, but regardless, it was something we’d never had happen before. It’s a popular little cake! It’s pretty massive! This thing is rich and filling, but while the cake is moist and dense enough to feel fudgy, it’s not as dense as, say, a pound cake, which was a perk in our eyes. The chocolate ganache is super creamy and fudgy, and the marshmallow fluff is sticky, fluffy, and slightly toasted for a wonderful flavor. The marshmallows on top were freeze-dried, which we really enjoyed, as they added a bit of crunch while still tasting like sweet marshmallows. The graham cracker crumbs were crispy, although we wish there were a bit more to really bring that s’mores flavor to life. We really enjoyed it! Overall, this is definitely a delicious dessert, and you could easily share it as it is rich and chocolatey. It highlights the chocolate side of a s’more more than the other flavors, but the marshmallow toppings help you see the vision. We mostly just missed a good showing for the graham cracker! Would we come all the way here just for this dessert? If we were a MAJOR chocolate fan, perhaps, but otherwise, we’ll save it for the special occasions where we dine here. More Recent Reviews! You know how they say that breakfast is the most important meal of the day? Disney’s Hollywood Studios Well, when you’re in Disney World, breakfast isn’t always a priority (unless, of course, you’re having a breakfast with characters — which is almost ALWAYS worth it). You can grab some quick things here and there, or visit Starbucks for some caffeine and a grab ‘n’ go breakfast sandwich, but what if you’re craving something a bit more…MORE. Well, we found a satisfying breakfast in Disney’s Hollywood Studios that’s the perfect way to start your day. So we’re heading over to Toy Story Land to Woody’s Lunch Box, which is a popular quick service dining spot in Hollywood Studios for a reason. But instead of waiting for lunch to have our Totchos, we’re getting something for breakfast. Meet the Breakfast Bowl, which is made with a “hearty portion” of Potato Barrels smothered in Smoked Brisket Country Gravy, Scrambled Eggs, and a sprinkling of Green Onions. Um… YES, PLEASE! Breakfast Bowl Okay, for starters, this is a breakfast that includes all the best parts of breakfast, so it’s a solid choice because you’re getting all the good breakfast foods in one bowl. It’s also easy to eat if you’re walking or standing in line because you can just grab the bowl and go stand in that long Slinky Dog Dash line and enjoy your breakfast while waiting. So you can grab this breakfast and just keep on going so you don’t lose valuable park time. The perfect breakfast We will mention that it’s also a pretty good size, so you could split it if you’re not able to eat the whole thing by yourself or you prefer a smaller breakfast. But what’s not to love? Potatoes, eggs, brisket, AND gravy? Oh, yeah! Stay tuned to DFB for more! WE KNOW – there are SO many great snacks at Disney World! When you start planning a Disney trip, whether that be for Disney World or Disneyland, you probably are looking EVERYWHERE you can for a good discount. Sleeping Beauty Castle for the 70th Anniversary Celebration For members of warehouse clubs like Costco, though, those discounts can be pretty easy to find if you book your vacation through those stores. Well, if you’re planning a trip to Disneyland right now, you might just discover that you can no longer get a Disneyland offer through Costco. Yep, that offer is GONE. If you visit the Costco Travel website and look for the page where you can usually book a Disneyland trip through the site, you’ll see the following message: “Costco Travel is not accepting new reservations to the Disneyland Resort.” Yep, you can’t book any Disneyland reservations through Costco Travel right now. ©Costco However, if you’re booking other Disney vacations, like Disney World, Disney’s Aulani Resort in Hawaii, or Disney Cruise Line, you can still book vacations through the site if you’re a Costco member. So this only seems to apply to Disneyland for now. California Adventure We’re not sure why Costco is no longer offering Disneyland vacations, but we checked some other membership programs and noticed that Disneyland discounts are still available. That includes both AARP and AAA, so you can, at least, save some $$$ on Disneyland tickets through those sites. Don’t want to go through all of the stress of booking your Disney World trip alone? Reach out to our friends at Small World Vacations! Their experienced agents monitor your reservation for possible future savings, compare discounts and figure out which one works best for your travel party, dates, resort, and touring plans. Well, it’s that time of the year again… ©NBC Yep, it’s spring, which means most of us are loading up on allergy medication and holding our breaths to see if our favorite TV shows will make the cut for the fall season. This is when we start learning about a TON of TV show cancelations, including streaming cancelations, and well, we just learned that NBC has given THREE of its shows the axe. First up, Variety reports that the series Found, has been canceled after two seasons. The series, which debuted in 2023, stars Shanola Hampton, as well as Mark-Paul Gosselaar, Kelli Williams, Brett Dalton, Gabrielle Walsh, Arlen Escarpeta and Karan Oberoi. The series follows Gabi Mosely (Hampton) who was once a victim of kidnapping and, in turn, kidnapped the man who had snatched her. Now he’s on the loose. ©NBC However, all might not be lost for Found (see what we did there?). It’s producer, WBTV, has plans to shop it around to other outlets. So keep an eye out because season 3 of Found might just be, well, FOUND. NBC didn’t stop there, though. Variety also reports that Night Court has been canceled after three seasons. The show was a follow-up to the popular 1980s series Night Court, which ran for nine seasons. The series starred Melissa Rauch and included original cast member John Laroquette, along with Wendie Malick, Lacretta, and Nyambi Nyambi. ©NBC Rauch starred on the series as the daughter of the late Judge Harry Stone as she takes on the challenging duty of judging the night shift at a Manhattan courtroom. WBTV also has plans to shop this series to other outlets. Its season one ratings were strong, but began to decline with season two. Finally, Suits LA has been canceled by NBC after just one season, according to Variety. The show was a spin-off of the highly popular Suits, but the spin-off suffered from bad reviews and poor ratings. The show followed Ted Black (Stephen Amell), a former federal New York prosecutor looking to reinvent himself in Los Angeles. ©NBC Stay tuned to DFB for more.
