Is it really cheaper to go to Disney World this summer? Seven Dwarfs Mine Train It’s no secret that a trip to Disney World is expensive, and in actuality, prices haven’t gone “down” in 2025. Not technically, anyway. However, Disney IS doing something different this year. Specifically, they are offering discounts at levels we haven’t seen since prior to the pandemic! Disney has a wide variety of discounts available for summer 2025, including the following: $89 Special Summer 3-Day, 3-Park Ticket For visits between April 6th and September 22nd, Disney is offering a 3-day, 3-park ticket starting at $89 per day ($267 total, plus tax) for EPCOT, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and Disney’s Animal Kingdom. (NOTE: These tickets are not valid for admission to Magic Kingdom.) Slinky Dog Dash Half-Off for Kids! From May 27th through September 20th, 3-day or longer standard Disney World theme park tickets for kids (ages 3 to 9) are 50% off their normal price. Kids’ Chalk Art Early Summer 30% Off on Rooms From May 1st and July 31st, Disney is offering up to 30% on rooms at select Disney hotels when you stay 5 consecutive nights.” However, these “Early Summer” dates aren’t the ONLY time you can save 30% off on a Disney hotel room. Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort Lobby Late Summer and Fall 30% Off on Rooms From August 1st to October 11th (so yes, the very next day), Disney is also offering up to 30% off on rooms at select Disney Resorts Collection hotels when you stay 5 consecutive nights.” Pop Century Annual Passholder Savings AP Holders can save up to 40% on Rooms for stays on select nights from June 1st to July 31st. In addition, lesser discounts are available for stays from May 1st through the 31st. Disney World Annual Pass FREE Dining! Disney is offering FREE Dining Plans with the purchase of a “non-discounted 4-night, 4-day Walt Disney Travel Company package that includes a room at a select Disney Resorts Collection hotel and a theme park ticket with a Park Hopper option” in the following date ranges: June 29th to September 30th, October 20th to November 1st, and December 6th to December 22nd. Buffet options While Disney offering discounts is nothing new, there are more of them in 2025 than anytime in the last 5 years, which in turn makes it possible to say that it can be cheaper to go to Disney World in 2025 than in previous years. Although you can ride the Mad Tea Party teacups in Magic Kingdom in Disney World, and possibly even spot Alice and the Mad Hatter nearby, did you know there’s another spot in Orlando with an Alice in Wonderland theme? ©High T It’s a bar called High T, and it’s been open since 2022. Not only does the bar have an Alice in Wonderland vibe, but it also offers specialty cocktails and characters from the Lewis Carroll books. However, we’ve got some bad news: the bar recently announced that it is permanently closing for good. According to a Facebook post, the High T’s owners announced the closure of High T and its other bar, 1Up Orlando, and wrote: “This is not the ending we had envisioned. For years, we poured our hearts, souls, and dreams into creating something truly special—a space where imagination ran wild, where reality melted away, and where magic lived in every corner. But despite our passion and relentless fight to keep these dreams alive, the overwhelming financial strain of operating in Downtown Orlando with the restrictions placed on nightlife including the fees from After Midnight Alcohol Sales Permit (AMS), coupled with the decline of Church Street, has left us with no choice but to say goodbye.” ©High T The City of Orlando’s After Midnight Alcohol Sales permit rule requires businesses to apply for a special permit to sell alcohol downtown after midnight. It also places additional security requirements on bars with more capacity, including extra police protection. Both of these requirements must be paid for by the club owners, not the city. ©High T The owners of High T were working on a third location, the Outer Rim Tiki Cabaret & Society, but plans for that establishment have also been canceled. The Facebook post read: “We tried. We tried everything. We adapted, we restructured, we fought against the tide, but in the end, the weight of insurmountable costs and unforeseen challenges proved too much to bear. Our plans for Outer Rim Tiki Cabaret & Society were met with ever-changing requirements, forcing us to sink deeper into debt in an effort to comply. What was meant to be a new beginning instead became an uphill battle that we could no longer sustain and put a strain on all of our existing concepts.” The full statement is below: ©High T via Facebook Stay tuned to DFB for more. “Is There Anything Open?” – Fans React to News That Yet ANOTHER Magic Kingdom Ride Will Be Closing Join the DFB Newsletter to get all the breaking news right in your inbox! Sometimes viral items are totally NOT worth the hype, but otherwise, we’re genuinely surprised. Animal Kingdom When you’re headed to Disney World, especially if it’s a larger trip, you may feel the need to purchase travel essentials you previously could have gone without. We’ve tried tons and haven’t often been wildly impressed, but this changed the game for us. BAGSMART Travel Toiletry Bag This has SO many pockets and the quality is amazing. We love the storage and organization — we didn’t even have enough to fill it with what we were actually traveling with for our weeklong trip! The event, set for Saturday and Sunday at the Loch Haven Park museum, features science-based experiments and activities, and things get, well, messy. Among the scheduled activities are Alka-rockets and marble art in the Mess Hall, goo-based art at the Slimebar and a returning favorite called Foamsplosions. Mess Fest, which is included with regular science center admission, also includes an acrobatic show by WeFlip, Messy Earth StoryTime and appearances by local artists familiar with messy circumstances. On Saturday, the 1997 version of “Flubber,” starring Robin Williams, will be screened as part of Storytime Cinema, a children’s film series. On Monday, May 5th, Disneyland Park held a special cavalcade honoring Disneyland Fire Department firefighters Mark McLean and Larry Chu, along with six other first responders who were on the frontlines of the Los Angeles fires in January 2025. ©Disney The celebration marked the first day that eligible first responders who helped combat the LA fires could use their complimentary Heroes Tickets to Disneyland Resort. Disneyland Resort Cast Members Mark and Larry don’t just work at The Happiest Place on Earth in the Disneyland Fire Department, but they are also part of local fire departments and worked with them to help battle the LA fires. ©Disney “It’s humbling and feels cool to be honored,” said Larry about being in the cavalcade for his heroic efforts in the Eaton Fire. “We are not used to the limelight, and it’s not what we strive to do in this profession, but it feels good.” Larry has been with the Disneyland Fire Department for the past three years, in addition to being with the Sierra Madre Fire Department as a firefighter paramedic for over four years. ©Disney Mark McLean is the third in his family to be a Disneyland Resort firefighter after his uncle and father, and has spent the last 21 years fighting fires for the Los Angeles Fire Department. As soon as he clocked out from his shift at the resort the night the Palisades Fire broke out, Mark headed straight to his station, where he would remain on duty for 23 days straight. “We don’t think of ourselves as heroes; being a firefighter is just a career or profession that we enjoy doing,” Mark shared. “It is humbling that you chose us out of all of the men and women in fire service.” ©Disney In addition to offering eligible first responders the Heroes Ticket, Disney also announced a $15 million commitment for immediate response and rebuilding efforts in the Los Angeles area. ©Disney Planning a trip to Disneyland? Now is the perfect time, thanks to the 70th Anniversary Celebration kicking off soon. This exciting event kicks off on May 16th, 2025, and runs throughout the summer. As part of the festivities, there will be new ride additions, brand-new attractions, the return of fan-favorite parades, and so much more. ©Disney We don’t blame folks for wanting to visit Disneyland during the celebration! We’ll be getting 2 new dessert parties, a new character meet and greet is coming, new and returning shows are on the way, and there is so much exclusive merchandise on the way. Disney also shared that new restaurants and stores will be coming to Downtown Disney as the park continues to grow and change before the celebrations start on May 16th, 2025. ©Disney Throughout Disneyland, expect to see anniversary decor as you make your way around the park, enjoying the celebrations. Many U.S. citizens have been worried about their upcoming travel this year due to the long-delayed requirement of having a Real ID. TSA lines at MCO What is a Real ID? According to government officials, it’s a more secure way of identifying individuals and is usually marked by a star on the upper corner of your driver’s license. The deadline for needing a Real ID to continue flying with no changes is here, but there’s no need to panic — here’s everything you need to know. According to ABC News, Kristi Noem, the United States Secretary of Homeland Security, has stated that those who don’t have a REAL ID by this week’s deadline will absolutely still be allowed to fly. However, they “may be diverted to a different line, have an extra step,” but they’re working to make the transition as seamless as possible. Orlando Sanford International Airport 81% of the United States population already have IDs that comply with the REAL ID requirements, but security will also be accepting passports and tribal identification. Even if your ID is the only thing you have on you, but it’s not a REAL ID, you’ll still be allowed to fly with that additional questioning. Orlando Sanford Airport All across the country, Department of Driver Services buildings have been extending their hours to help people get their REAL ID before Wednesday’s deadline. However, what many people may not know is that the REAL ID was recommended by the 9/11 Commission and signed into law back in 2005. It was originally supposed to go into effect in 2008, but it’s been delayed time and time again, so despite how it feels, this isn’t actually a new idea. When it comes to dining at Disney World, you’ve got a TON of options. Want something quick and easy? You’ve got it. Something middle of the road and comforting? Yep, that too. And if you’re looking for something upscale and luxurious, you can find that as well. Welcome to Disney World We recently stopped by Singing Spirits Pool Bar at Disney’s All-Star Music Resort to see what was cookin’, and now we’re bringing you our FULL review. Is it worth a stop on your next trip to the Most Magical Place on Earth? Find out here! Atmosphere When it comes to dining at Disney’s All-Star Movies, you’ve got two options! Intermission Food Court is a full quick service where you can get a variety of options, but if you want a snack or drink by the pool, you’re going to head to Singing Spirits Pool Bar. Singing Spirits This is the outdoor part that’s connected to the quick service and is right outside the pool for easy convenience. There are several bar seats outside as well as tables if you want to avoid crumbs on your beach towels. The seats But enough about the pool bar — what’s on the menu here?! Menu The menu here is pretty limited! There are two featured cocktails as well as several specialty cocktails. The menu! On the back, you can find beer, wine, sangria, and some non-alcoholic beverages as well. There are 9 items under the Pool Bar Bites part of the menu, including ice cream, Mickey Pretzels, fruit, and more! The back! And now, onto the main event — the food! Eats First up, we grabbed the Italian and Provolone Sandwich with chips for $12.99. The Italian Sub! While we did order this from the pool bar, we did notice that the Cast Member picked it up inside the Intermission Food Court, so we really could have gone and gotten it ourselves. The sandwich was not too bad! The lettuce was fresh, and it was nice and meaty. It came with a balsamic oil dip, which added some flavor. A closer look! It reminded us of any run-of-the-mill sandwich, so it wasn’t anything special. Next, we grabbed the Charcuterie for $11.79. Charcuterie It comes with cubed cheese, salami, ham, grapes, tomatoes, and olives. This one was pretty basic as well. It also had a bit of bread inside that came pre-oiled to stack your cheese and meats on. While it was nice to have the option, it wasn’t anything worth writing home about, and for $11, the portion was disappointing. A bite! Overall, both options were pulled from the food court, but we didn’t have to go get them ourselves, which was convenient. Drinks To drink, we picked up the Splash of Blues for $16.50. The Splash of Blues! This drink was made of Absolut Vodka, Beefeater Gin, Bacardí Superior Rum, Corazón Blanco Tequila, Bols Blue Curaçao Liqueur, a sour mix, and Sprite. It was a super pretty blue! The blue syrup might be pretty, but we would recommend stirring it first. It’s pretty strong too, so you’re getting your money’s worth! A closer look! It was tasty and not overly complicated. We can see it being the perfect drink to sit by the pool! Nosh or Not This Disney World restaurant is a must-visit if… You’re staying at the All-Star Resort You don’t want to head inside You need an easy snack or drink You should skip this Disney World spot if… Want something super flavorful You don’t want an alcoholic drink You are willing to go out of your way for more adventurous eats Overall Overall, this spot was just…fine! It wasn’t bad by any means, but in our opinion, we would just pick up a mobile order from Intermission Food Court and bring it back out to the pool with us. It’s more of a spot of convince than a spot for tasty eats. The full spread! In the meantime, we’ll be on the lookout for more restaurant updates from Disney World and beyond. Make sure you stay tuned to the Disney Food Blog for the latest Disney news and more! The Best Restaurants in Disney World in 2025 Need Disney Restaurant Advice? When most people go to Disney World, they probably aren’t expecting fine dining, rare cuts of meat, or expensive wines. Wet Aged Ribeye from Capa In fact, Disney World is home to two Michelin Star restaurants. TWO! If you’re looking for a good place to eat, you might want to turn to the food experts for a recommendation. Now, the renowned foodie website laliste.com has published its list of the Top 1,000 Restaurants for 2025, and a Disney World restaurant made the cut! From New York to San Francisco, La Liste found the best fine-dining experiences nationwide. But the list extends beyond the United States — restaurants in France, Italy, and China also ranked highly on the list, and after analyzing thousands of publications, guidebooks, and online reviews, La Liste ranked the top restaurants with a score out of 100. ©La Liste The top restaurants on the list scored a 99.5 and range in location from Basel, Switzerland, to Hong Kong, China. Other notable restaurants by chefs like José Andres, Masaharu Morimoto, and Wolfgang Puck were included as well. It’s worth pointing out that José Andres, Masaharu Morimoto, and Wolfgang Puck all have other restaurants in Disney World. When you think of Drinking Around the World at Disney World, you are probably picturing the World Showcase at EPCOT. EPCOT While EPCOT does have some great spots to grab a cold beverage, it’s not the only park, though. Disney’s Hollywood Studios has some solid choices for drinks as well, so we are sharing our plan for Drink Around the “Worlds” of Hollywood Studios. While there aren’t necessarily “worlds” at Hollywood Studios, there are different lands or themed areas, so that is what we will tap into. Come along with us around the park to check out some great adult drinks here. Disney’s Hollywood Studios Below is a map of Hollywood Studios that will show the different “worlds” we will be talking about. You have Hollywood Boulevard, Echo Lake, Commissary Lane, Grand Avenue, Galaxy’s Edge, Toy Story Land, Sunset Boulevard, Animation Courtyard, and finally, Pixar Plaza. Hollywood Studios Map Hollywood Boulevard First, we’re starting strong at The Hollywood Brown Derby Lounge. This lounge area is outside of the Hollywood Brown Derby restaurant and does not require a reservation. Here you can grab a variety of wines and beers, but we love the Grapefruit Cake Martini. You will need to be a fan of grapefruit to enjoy this tangy drink, but it is modeled after the Brown Derby’s famous grapefruit cake. Grapefruit Cake Martini Echo Lake Next, we’re heading to the Tune-In Lounge attached to 50’s Prime Time Cafe. There are a lot of great cocktails to choose from here, but if you are looking for something unique, grab the Tune-In PB&J Cocktail. It is super heavy on the peanut butter whiskey, which makes it very creamy and smooth. The Tune-In PB&J Cocktail Commissary Lane The ABC Commissary is a quick-service restaurant that has a few alcoholic beverages to choose from. Grab the Watermelon Margarita here for a cool, refreshing drink. The best part about grabbing a drink here is you can mobile order it, and there is PLENTY of indoor seating. Watermelon Margarita Grand Avenue Just around the corner, you’ll find Baseline Tap House. Beer is their specialty here, so grab a pilsner, ale, or IPA. If you can’t choose just one, you can create your own beer flight for $14.25. Create Your Own Beer Flight Galaxy’s Edge Now, we’re giving you two options for Galaxy’s Edge. If you can grab a reservation at Oga’s Cantina, you can head inside to find Star Wars-themed drinks, and the vibes are incredible here. If you enjoy cocktails, this is a unique twist on them. You can also head to the Milk Stand for either Blue or Green Milk, and you can get these with alcohol as well. Green and Blue Milk Coolers Toy Story Land Woody’s Lunchbox is a quick service restaurant that you can find on mobile order. The Grown Ups Lemonade is a staple adult drink here. We LOVE this refreshing mix of Three Olives Cherry Vodka, lemonade, and black cherry puree. Grown Ups Lemonade Sunset Boulevard At Anaheim Produce, you can find frozen drinks, including Frozen Golden Margaritas and Frozen Coca-Cola with rum or whiskey. On a hot day, these are refreshing. Refreshing! Animation Courtyard/Pixar Plaza At Joffrey’s, you can grab a coffee to help you through your day, but you can also grab a Strawberry Lemon Sunset here. This isn’t the most fun-themed place, so can we ask Disney to build an Incredibles-themed bar here? I think yes. Frozen Strawberry-Lemonade Sunset This is a great way to drink some drinks and split them with your traveling party. For more tips for your Disney World vacation, be sure to follow DFB! If you’re going on a cruise soon, you might want to pay attention and take some extra health precautions. ©Holland America If you’ve been following the news, you may be aware that several cruise ships have recently been struck by viral outbreaks, most notably norovirus. Many cruise lines have been affected by outbreaks, including Cunard and Holland America. Well, in the last week alone, three more cruise ships had gastrointestinal outbreaks as reported by the CDC. Holland America has been hit with another norovirus outbreak, this time on the cruise ship Eurodam for voyage dates from April 12th through May 3rd. Over 140 passengers of 2,038 total reported being ill on the cruise, while 22 of the ship’s 830 crew members also reported illnesses. ©Holland America Another Holland America ship was also hit with norovirus this week, the Zuiderdam, which set sail from January 2nd to May 9th. On that ship, 55 of 1,149 passengers reported illnesses, while 14 of the 751 crew members working on the ship reported illnesses. ©Holland America A third ship also reported a norovirus outbreak. The Lindblad Expeditions ship National Geographic Sea Lion had an outbreak during a voyage from April 15th through April 29th. During that cruise, 5 of 43 passengers fell ill with norovirus, while 2 of 37 crew members reported illnesses. ©Lindblad Expeditions So what’s going on with all these norovirus outbreaks? According to USA Today, CDC data shows a new dominant strain of norovirus that is associated with the recent outbreaks on land, as well as at sea. However, cruise ships also may be relying too heavily on hand sanitizer, which is not as effective against norovirus as washing hands with soap and water. If you will be going on a cruise soon, be sure to wash your hands with soap and water as often as possible. If you do develop systems, you’ll want to isolate yourself from other passengers and clean your space with disinfectant. All cruise ship illnesses should also be reported to the ship’s medical staff, and follow their instructions. Stay tuned to DFB for more. 3 Secrets Epic Universe Doesn’t Want You to Know
Disney4me posted a topic in Disney Food/Restaurants
Universal’s new theme park is (mostly) living up to its almost unprecedented hype. Celestial Park in Epic Universe The park is also chock-full of secrets, from construction changes to deceptive architecture that masks the length of queues to easter eggs within the park’s portals; there’s plenty below the surface. Harry Potter and the Missing Broom The first Epic Universe “secret” comes from the park’s earliest development phase. At one point, there were plans to include a second Harry Potter attraction in the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. Specifically, the rumored VR attraction was to be based around replicating the sensation of flying on a broom. ©Universal The ride, which was also rumored for Universal Studios Florida at one point, would have — somewhat shockingly — been the first attraction in any Potter-land to try and replicate one of the most iconic features of the series. The Battle at the Ministry Queue is MASSIVE If you want to meet your step goal at Epic Universe, just hop in line for Universal’s latest Wizarding World E-Ticket attraction. The massive queue for this line, which begins in the land’s recreation of 1920s Paris from the Fantastic Beasts series before *SPOILERS* transporting guests to a full-scale recreation of the 1990s British Ministry of Magic through the magic of the Floo Network, stretches for over a mile! The queue is HUGE This long queue, in the vein of Disneyland’s Indiana Jones Adventure, is necessary for two major reasons. First, the technologically advanced attraction is housed in a huge show building that guests need to be ferried to, and second, the ride is going to be EXTREMELY popular. Dark Universe’s Underground Residents The final “secret” we’re looking at today is one of the more ingenious — if somewhat icky — easter eggs in the park’s Dark Universe. According to the area’s lore, the town of Darkmoor features a coven of vampires living beneath it. (These are the same vampires who operate Das Stakehaus within the land.) Inside Das Stakehaus In the middle of the land is a well where residents can “provide blood” to said vampires during the day. In fact, if one listens closely, you can hear the vampires at the bottom of the well. Can you hear them? These are just a sliver of the secrets held beneath the surface of Epic Universe, which opens to the public on May 22nd. Stay tuned to DFB for more on the NEW park. If you’re heading to EPCOT anytime soon, there are rules you need to be cognizant of. Grand Marnier Orange Slush Some are official, while others are “unspoken” but just as important to ensuring a good day at Disney World’s original second gate. Be Careful Drinking Around the World Drinking around the world and sampling various drinks from the World Showcase’s countries is one of the most fun things one can do at EPCOT. However, it shall go without saying that there are certain rules one should follow. Beyond the obvious standards of not overindulging and always remaining respectful of Cast Members and fellow guests, there are two other major rules that those who participate need to keep in mind: Stay hydrated, and stay fed. Schōnauer Apfel Liqueur While imbibing alcohol, it’s integral to not do so on an empty stomach and to drink plenty of water to remain hydrated. The latter is especially important during Florida’s hotter seasons. Save Spaceship Earth Since Spaceship Earth is the massive weenie just inside the park’s main entrance, it can be very tempting to make a beeline for the attraction. This often leads to inflated wait times for the attraction in the morning, which dip much lower during the afternoon and evening hours. So, we’re certainly not saying skip the ride — it’s a classic — just wait until the times go down to essentially a walk-on level. EPCOT Carrying a Weapon On the surface, this one may seem obvious. Neither weapons nor faux weapons are allowed at EPCOT (or any Disney World park); however, things can get a bit murky if you purchase a weapon or a faux weapon at the park –– like some of the collectibles available in a few World Showcase countries — and then carry it through the park. Make sure to keep that receipt on you, and maybe drop it off back at the hotel before park hopping if possible. It’s the One in the Center! Start in Mexico There’s perhaps no more heated Disney debate than whether to start World Showcase in Mexico or Canada. The answer is obvious and always has been. Nuff’ Said. Mexico Pavilion Be sure to follow these “rules” next time you’re at EPCOT. Stay tuned to DFB for more on Disney World! It’s official — Disney is building a seventh landmark theme park in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. This announcement comes as The Walt Disney Company announced a partnership with Miral, “Abu Dhabi’s leading creator of immersive destinations and experiences.” The Walt Disney Company and Miral, Abu Dhabi’s leading creator of immersive destinations and experiences, announced an agreement to create a landmark Disney theme park resort in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. The waterfront resort will be located on Yas Island, a world-class destination for entertainment and leisure, connecting travelers from the Middle East and Africa, India, Asia, Europe, and beyond. This seventh Disney theme park resort will combine Disney’s iconic stories, characters and attractions with Abu Dhabi’s vibrant culture, stunning shorelines, and breathtaking architecture. This new Disney resort will be located on Yas Island, a spot known for entertainment and tourism. The island is already home to a few other, smaller theme parks, which begs the question — what sort of intellectual property (IP) will Disney bring to its brand new park?! Disney Imagineers will be leading the creative design and operational oversight, and the new resort will be fully developed and built by Miral. Miral has developed other attractions in Abu Dhabi, such as SeaWorld Yas Island, Warner Bros. World Yas Island, and more, so it makes sense that Disney would partner with them to bring this theme park to life. According to Disney, the theme park “will combine Disney’s iconic stories, characters and attractions with Abu Dhabi’s vibrant culture, stunning shorelines, and breathtaking architecture.” The Walt Disney Company and Miral, Abu Dhabi’s leading creator of immersive destinations and experiences, announced an agreement to create a landmark Disney theme park resort in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. This seventh Disney theme park resort will combine Disney’s iconic stories, characters and attractions with Abu Dhabi’s vibrant culture, stunning shorelines, and breathtaking architecture. Iger referred to the park as Disneyland Abu Dhabi, and Disney confirmed the new theme park resort will offer: Signature Disney entertainment Themed accommodations Unique dining and retail experiences, Storytelling in a way that celebrates both the heritage of Disney and the futuristic and cultural essence of Abu Dhabi ©Disney But, what sort of storytelling could that be? Disney hasn’t officially revealed what lands or IPs will come to this park, but they did release an announcement video along with the news that could clue us into what’s in store for Disneyland Abu Dhabi. Keep in mind that this is pure speculation and that nothing has been confirmed by Disney so far. In the video, we see flashes of various Disney IP — which may or may not be a clue to what’s coming to Disneyland Abu Dhabi — including The Lion King… ©Disney …AVATAR… ©Disney …Iron Man (MARVEL)… ©Disney …Zootopia… ©Disney …Frozen… ©Disney …and Star Wars! ©Disney Disney also showed some existing park rides and elements — is this another hint of what’s to come?! We spotted the Millennium Falcon… ©Disney …TRON Lightcycles… ©Disney …Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway… ©Disney …Journey of Water: Inspired by Moana… ©Disney …and Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind. ©Disney Disney pointed out that the UAE is located within a four-hour flight of one-third of the world’s population, “making it a significant gateway for tourism.” According to Travel and Tour World, India is one of the largest sources of tourism for the UAE. CEO Bob Iger commented on the news, stating, “This is a thrilling moment for our company as we announce plans to build an exciting Disney theme park resort in Abu Dhabi, whose culture is rich with an appreciation of the arts and creativity.” ©Disney We’ll be on the lookout for more updates on this HUGE announcement. Things could be changing at Disney World restaurants, thanks to a new Florida bill. One of our meals at Homecomin’ We previously reported that HB 535 was making its way through the Florida State House and had passed its first committee approval. The bill would make it easier for restaurants or hotels to remove someone who is not paying their bill. The bill would also “ban automatic gratuity and service charges for parties of fewer than six guests at restaurants, cafes, and other food service establishments.” It would also not require automatic gratuity for parties of more than six guests for those who complain to a manager about the quality of service. Now, we have an update on that bill. The House Bill HB 535 has been laid on the table, but this bill is now basically done for, and a new similar bill is in play in the Senate, SB 606. The new bill would require restaurants to include a notice on the food menu, written contract, website, and mobile apps that “includes the amount or percentage of the operations charge and the purpose of the operations charge. “ Summer House on the Lake in Disney Springs It would also require that each copy of the receipt a customer receives must have separate lines for gratuity, an operations charge, and sales tax “so that it is clear to the customer what is being charged.” If that operations charge includes automatic gratuity, the receipt must have it stated on a separate line. Cinderella’s Royal Table Note that this new law would not apply to dining plans, dining packages, or a fixed-price meal “for which the price of the plan or package or meal is disclosed to the customer before purchase.” This new law, which would be effective as of July 1st, 2026, has already passed both the Florida House and Senate, so we’ll be keeping an eye out for more updates to get you more details. Walt Disney Co. is planning a theme park resort for Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates, the company confirmed Wednesday. The attraction will be on the waterfront of Yas Island, already a leisure travel destination. The new resort will be developed, built and operated by Miral, an Abu Dhabi-based developer. Walt Disney Co. and Walt Disney Imagineering will lead creative design and operational oversight. It will use Disney licensed properties. Neither timeline nor theming were shared for the project on Wednesday. “Disneyland Abu Dhabi will be authentically Disney and distinctly Emirati – an oasis of extraordinary Disney entertainment at this crossroads of the world,” Robert Iger, Disney’s CEO, said in a news release. “It will rise from this land in spectacular fashion, blending contemporary architecture with cutting edge technology to offer guests deeply immersive entertainment experiences in unique and modern ways.” Josh D’Amaro, chairman of Disney Experiences, touted the opportunity. “The location of our park is incredibly unique – anchored by a beautiful waterfront – which will allow us to tell our stories in completely new ways,” he said. “This project will reach guests in a whole new part of the world, welcoming more families to experience Disney than ever before.” “What we are creating with Disney in Abu Dhabi is a whole new world of imagination — an experience that will inspire generations across the region and the world, creating magical moments and memories that families will treasure forever,” said Khalifa Al Mubarak, Miral’s chairman. The announcement came on the heels of Walt Disney Co. quarterly earnings report, including increases in revenue and operating income for its parks and destinations division. This is a breaking story.
