  2. A popular Disney World restaurant has reopened, and the shenanigans are back! However, while this restaurant has reopened, there are still numerous closures in Disney World that we want you to know about. We always want to ensure you are as prepared as possible for your Disney World trip! Disney’s Animal Kingdom That’s why we want to make sure you know about closures that could impact your Disney World vacation! The good news is that Disney often lets us know about closures beforehand. You can’t control or plan for unexpected closures, BUT you can plan ahead for the planned closures at Disney World. Let’s look at which restaurant just reopened, and what closures are happening this week. From May 12th through May 21st, 2025, Whispering Canyon Café at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge was closed for refurbishment. But we have some good news! The restaurant has officially reopened, and you can once again enjoy the shenanigans and all-you-can-eat fare. Whispering Canyon Cafe While the closure was only for a short time, we are glad this restaurant is back open! Let’s take a look at what attractions and locations will be closed this week, May 24th through May 31st, at Disney World! Magic Kingdom Playground at Dumbo the Flying Elephant The indoor children’s playground inside the Dumbo the Flying Elephant queue closed for refurbishment on February 24th, 2025. While the playground is closed, the ride is still open and available for kids of all ages to soar through the sky! Dumbo the Flying Elephant The indoor playground is expected to reopen in Spring 2025. Hall of Presidents The Hall of Presidents closed at Magic Kingdom on January 20th. The Hall of Presidents The attraction will be closed until later in 2025, though Disney has not shared a specific date. We will keep an eye out for updates, though! The closure is likely to change the current president, as January 20th marked Inauguration Day. While it is closed, other maintenance and routine work may also be happening. Astro Orbiter If you want to blast off into space, you’ll have to head over to Space Mountain because Astro Orbiter is temporarily closed for refurbishment! Astro Orbiter closed as of January 13th and is planned to reopen in the summer of 2025. No specific date has been announced for the high-in-the-sky ride, but we’ll keep our eyes peeled for an update from Disney. Astro Orbiter The ride has been completely dismantled and is being refurbished elsewhere. It definitely looks a little barren as you are walking into Tomorrowland right now! However, Disney has filed a permit that could mean the attraction will soon be back in its place in Tomorrowland, and we are starting to see it getting reassembled. Construction walls are back, and the crane is in place to reassemble. You’re Gonna Want to Be On Main Street, U.S.A. for This NEW Magic Kingdom Surprise in Disney World Big Thunder Mountain Railroad On January 6th, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad closed for an extended temporary closure. Chassis testing unit The “Wildest Ride in the Wilderness” will be closed for at least a year and will reopen sometime in 2026. The ride will be undergoing maintenance while it is closed. When it reopens, it will have some “new magic,” according to Disney. We can’t wait to see what changes will be coming to this ever-popular roller coaster! We recently spotted some ride testing happening which was very exciting. Tomorrowland Terrace Tomorrowland Terrace is a quick-service restaurant that has been closed since the 2020 pandemic-related closures, but even before that, this spot was only occasionally open. Tomorrowland Terrace Once in a while, you’ll see the dining room open as a rest area (and it’s still being used for the Magic Kingdom Fireworks Dessert Parties), but it’s usually all roped off and empty. Disney hasn’t announced when this spot could finally reopen, but we’ll be watching for updates. If you’re looking for a nice spot to hang out in Disney World and take a rest, this could be it! Tortuga Tavern Just like Tomorrowland Terrace, Tortuga Tavern is a seasonal restaurant in Magic Kingdom. It has been a bit since we saw it open. Most recently, it was used as a cookie location for Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party. Tortuga Tavern We had previously spotted shrubs around the restaurant as they worked on the flooring. However, all the shrubs have been taken down now. We don’t know exactly when/if this restaurant will reopen, but we will keep you updated if we learn more! Something NEW Is Coming to Magic Kingdom for Annual Passholders in June! EPCOT Test Track Test Track closed on June 17th, 2024, and Disney is giving this ride a BIG makeover! Disney has shared that the new version of Test Track will take inspiration from the old ride, World of Motion, that was originally there when the park opened in 1982. Test Track Disney shared more details at D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Experience, and an updated opening timeline was announced! We’ll be able to ride Test Track once again in late summer 2025. We have gotten a look at the new Test Track cars, too. Recently we have even been hearing vehicles running on the track. We are getting closer and closer to its reopening! We Reviewed the Cheapest Sit Down Dinner You Can Get in EPCOT Disney’s Animal Kingdom It’s Tough to Be a Bug It’s Tough to Be a Bug is officially closed for good. This attraction in Disney’s Animal Kingdom invites you to join the bug kingdom on an adventure. While the show didn’t usually make it to the top of favorite attractions in Disney World, it has now officially closed to make way for a new show. It’s Tough to be a Bug! It’s Tough to Be a Bug closed on March 17th. The show is permanently closed to make way for a brand-new show, “Zootopia: Better Zoogether!”, expected to debut in winter 2025. TriceraTop Spin, Chester & Hester’s Dinosaur Treasures, and Fossil Fun Games The first round of closures began in DinoLand U.S.A. on January 13th, 2025. TriceraTop Spin, Chester & Hester’s Dinosaur Treasures, and Fossil Fun Game were closed down, and construction has begun on the brand-new land themed to the Tropical Americas, Pueblo Esperanza. The walls have been up since the closure, and things have been disappearing from behind the walls. Almost everything has been taken down behind the walls, including the large green dinosaur. DinoLand, U.S.A. It is definitely a sad sight, but we are also excited to see Pueblo Esperanza! DINOSAUR, Restaurantosaurus, the snack stands, and The Boneyard remain open. Disney hasn’t announced an official closing date for the rest of DinoLand. However, they have announced that “2025 is your year to visit before it goes extinct!” Disney’s NEW Animal Kingdom Announcements Are the Best Things We’ve Seen All Week Disney’s Hollywood Studios Lightning McQueen’s Racing Academy The Cars-themed show featuring Lightning McQueen permanently closed on October 8th, 2024, to make way for a brand-new Villains show. And the new show opens THIS WEEK! Lightning McQueen’s Racing Academy The Cars show was previously housed in the Sunset Showcase building, but the last day for guests to enjoy it was October 7th. The new Villains show officially has an opening date! It will debut on May 27th, 2025. We got the chance to see a sneak peek of the new show and we had thoughts! Voyage of the Little Mermaid As well, Voyage of the Little Mermaid is currently closed in Disney World. The iconic Voyage of the Little Mermaid marquee has been removed, and it was recently replaced with a brand-new marquee sign! And the best part? The brand-new show opens this week! Voyage of the Little Mermaid Disney is going to introduce a new, updated show in this spot, though it will still be themed to the animated movie The Little Mermaid! The new show will be called “The Little Mermaid — A Musical Adventure,” and will be debuting on May 27th, 2025. It will be a “fully reimagined theatrical production inspired by the Walt Disney Animation Studios classic.” Mama Melrose’s Ristorante Italiano We are getting close to the closure of this Hollywood Studios restaurant. If you have been wanting to have one last meal here, make sure you stop by on May 10th or before, as the restaurant is officially closing for good on May 11th, 2025. Mama Melrose’s Ristorante Italiano The restaurant is closing in Muppets Courtyard to make way for the new Monsters, Inc. themed land. Eventually, the rest of Muppets Courtyard will also close, including Muppet*Vision 3D on June 8th, 2025 (last day to experience the show is June 7th). FIRST LOOK at the New ‘Little Mermaid’ Show Coming to Disney’s Hollywood Studios Disney Springs Starbucks on the West Side The Starbucks on the West Side of Disney Springs is temporarily closed for refurbishment. It closed on March 3rd, and it is expected to reopen in mid-summer. Starbucks is undergoing refurbishment Have no fear, though — you can still get your Starbucks fix in Disney Springs! Head over to the Disney Springs Marketplace location, which will be open during the refurbishment. Caffeine headaches are not allowed in Disney Springs! REVIEW: Why EVERYONE Should Try This Disney Springs Restaurant At Least Once Winter Summerland Miniature Golf Alright, it is only kind of closing, but we wanted to make sure you were aware! From April 28th until June 16th, 2025, Winter Summerland Miniature Golf will be undergoing refurbishment. However, even though it will be getting refurbished, you can still stop by to play a round of golf. Only ONE course will be open at a time during the refurbishment, so you won’t have your choice of The Summer or The Winter Course; it will just be whichever one is open. Winter Summerland Mini Golf As well, Winter Summerland won’t be taking reservations during this time. If you are looking to play a round, you will just head over to the course as a walk-up. You can also head over to Fantasia Gardens and Fairways Miniature Golf if you are looking for even more mini golf fun. Disney World Hotels Jellyrolls — Disney’s BoardWalk Jellyrolls at Disney’s BoardWalk officially closed on April 19th, 2025. This entertainment venue has provided our team with countless memories, and we know many others are also sad to see it close. Jellyrolls had its final farewell performance on April 19th and closed its doors forever on Disney’s BoardWalk. Jellyrolls However, this isn’t the end for Jellyrolls, as the bar has said they are “making a move.” We don’t know many details about that move yet, but we will keep you updated. Stormalong Bay and Hurricane Hanna’s– Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club Resorts Stormalong Bay is the shared pool between Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club Resorts. It features a beach, a lazy river, a large pool, and an exciting pirate ship slide! When we stopped by recently, we noticed that the pool had been filled back up with water. We are getting closer to its reopening. Stormalong Bay Construction This pool area will be closed until June for refurbishment. While it’s closed, hotel guests can use the Tidal (Beach Club), Admiral (Yacht Club), and Dunes Cove (Beach Club) leisure pools. Hurricane Hanna’s, the pool bar at Stormalong Bay, will also be closed during the refurbishment. “I Am Paying For it After All”: Disney Adults Are TIRED of This Hotel TREND Don’t want to go through all of the stress of booking your Disney World trip alone? 6. It was a week to remember for theme parks! Epic Universe From the opening to Epic Universe, to Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party Tickets going on sale, it has been a crazy week for theme park fans! If you’re looking to get all the news you need from this week, you’re right where you need to be! Epic Universe Has Officially Opened We finally made it everyone! The portals are now open and it’s time to journey through the worlds of the Isle of Berk, the Ministry of Magic, Super Nintendo World, Dark Universe, and Celestial Park. We were not only there for opening day, but also the grand celebration for the opening the night before! A Viking Ship! The celebration included a blue carpet, a viking ice sculpture, and special guest appearances! The Weasley twins and Professor Flitwick even showed up to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. We, my friends, have fireworks The night was capped off with fireworks, lights, and drones! It was a truly special experience to get excited for the grand-opening the following day. The night was so perfect, no one would’ve even thought that the opening day wouldn’t have been perfect as well. We’re here to tell you, it was far from it… It’s crowded Opening day started kind of rough, as Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry started off closed, and didn’t open for SIX HOURS! The one ride that fans had been so desperately waiting for, the ‘jaw-dropping’ Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry, just wasn’t available. Keep in mind, people were getting to the park at 6 AM, and they couldn’t ride it till about 3:15. 300 minutes = 5 hours This was worst case scenario considering a few days before opening the Harry Potter ride hit a wait time of as much as 300 minutes, following the decision to remove the controversial virtual queue. If you thought it couldn’t get worse than that, we hate to tell you it did. Monsters Unchained Monsters Unchained: The Frankenstein Experiment also closed! The popular ride only made it till 10 AM before experiencing issues. Luckily, it reopened by 11 AM, so fans didn’t have to wait too long. On top of that, Mario Kart: Bowser’s Challenge closed at around 5 PM. Epic Universe could just not catch a break on opening day! Bowser’s Challenge! The opening wasn’t all bad, it just could’ve gone a little smoother. We’re just so thrilled that long anticipated park is FINALLY open! Guests can now come whenever to experience this truly Epic Universe. After all, it can only go up from here! Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party Tickets Can Be Purchased NOW It’s the beginning of summer, which mean it’s time to talk about Halloween at Disney! Halloween decorations in Magic Kingdom It definitely was time to talk about it because this week was FILLED with Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party updates. Happy Halloween! We first got the official dates for when the exclusive event would be happening. The after-hours party will be running on select nights from August 15th to October 31st. The event is going to be filled with exclusive character meet and greets, parades, fireworks, eats and treats, and more! It’s a very popular party, and we were reminded of that this week. Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party With the dates getting announced, Disney followed that up with prices increasing. After the announcement of the prices increasing, Disney posted the full list of scheduled dates WITH their prices. We went ahead and created a full list of all the dates you may want to avoid due to the prices going up! Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party Tickets were officially available for purchase on May 22nd, and within hours Halloween day party tickets were gone! That’s right, tickets to go to the exclusive party on October 31st are already SOLD OUT! It wasn’t much of a surprise, as the 31st is typically the first night to sell out when tickets go on sale. When you pair that with the fact that Halloween lands on a Friday this year, everyone had get tickets fast! We Got a Sneak Peak at The New Villains Show Even though it doesn’t release until next week, we got a FIRST LOOK at Disney Villains: Unfairly Ever After at Disney’s Hollywood Studios! Magic Mirror The new upcoming show is set to feature a ton of the biggest Disney villains you can think of. The show is a mix of screens and live on stage! The first official performances are set to begin on May 27th, and is replacing the old Lightning McQueen Racing Academy. Maleficent in Disney Villains: Unfairly Ever After The first thing we realized was that the theater was completely different, we’re talking an entirely new look! It was genuinely stunning in there, and we can’t wait for everyone to see it. It’s been turned into a proscenium theater with beautiful rows of seats with an antique look. Cruella Not to spoil too much, but the Magic Mirror summons you to help him decide which villain has been the most unfairly treated. The show is going to feature villains like Cruella de Vil, Captain Hook, Maleficent, and more! They will step into the spotlight to make their case about why they’ve been treated the most unfairly over the years. Captain Hook The show was really alive, and we loved every second of it. We got surprise appearances from Jafar and Hades, the excitement just kept piling up! We haven’t eve talked about the music. Of course they had the iconic villains songs, but there is some new stuff as well — including an original song! More villains Alongside the new villains show opening on May 27th, will be the new “Little Mermaid — A Musical Adventure”. We haven’t gotten to watch that one yet, but Disney dropped some photos giving fans a first look! To put it bluntly, the show looks GORGEOUS. The Little Mermaid — A Musical Adventure That’s some of our biggest news from this week, and from the sounds of it, there’s going to be a lot happening next week. This was truly a week to remember with Epic Universe opening, it’s so exciting that we can now experience the park we’ve all been talking about for YEARS. 7. We’re always on the hunt to make sure your travel adventures go as smoothly as possible. Because of that, we’re aware of all the common scams that might try to trick you. MCO Airport Sometimes, we come across a scam that is just too funny not to share. This scam involves many people’s bucket list items, so beware! A new attraction called Universe Fantasy Land in China recreates Mount Fuji for visitors, according to the South China Morning Post. That’s a wild sentence! ©South China Morning Post The fake Mount Fuji is a painted hill that you can take pictures with for 98 yuan, about $13 USD. It even has small eruptions on the weekends, made with pink smoke. Guests’ biggest complaint is that it doesn’t cost any money to take photos with the real Mount Fuji. ©South China Morning Post Universe Fantasy Land was meant to be “a fairy tale landscape, featuring a mountain, a shimmering lake, lush green grass, a while horse, and a charming wooden cottage, all aimed at enticing urban dwellers from the capital city, Beijing, who are eager for an escape from the pressures of work and daily life.” ©South China Morning Post The biggest part? Mount Fuji is not located in China—it’s in Japan! We hope no tourists fall for this trap. It might be fun for a joke, but don’t forget to add the real Mount Fuji to your bucket list. ©Britannica That reminds us of going to the China Pavilion in EPCOT and pretending it’s the real country! Yes, we love taking pictures in the pavilion, but it certainly doesn’t replace the country — it just gives us a taste of what we could see if we visited. 8. Even with an Annual Pass, it’s possible to make MISTAKES in the theme parks! ©Universal If you don’t visit all the time or you don’t stay up-to-date on all the news and perks, it can be easy to miss out on special offerings, discounts, and experiences. So, we’re sharing the mistakes to avoid if you’re a Universal Orlando Annual Passholder! Not Paying Attention to Perks Once you get a Universal Orlando Annual Pass, it’s important to pay attention to the perks that are offered to Passholders — that’s how you get your value! Annual Passholders can get special discounts on parking, dining, and tickets for family and friends. They also have access to the UOAP lounge! Diagon Alley Universal also often offers free, themed magnets for Passholders. And when it’s time for seasonal events? You might be able to score a deal on offerings during the Mardi Gras, Halloween, or holiday seasons! Not Taking Advantage of Exclusive Events From time to time, Passholders at Universal will be offered previews to check out new offerings, so make sure to be on the lookout! Passholders got the chance to preview DreamWorks Land AND Epic Universe before they opened to the public. Epic Universe Passholder Preview So if you see a new opening coming up soon on the calendar, make sure to keep your eyes peeled for a preview opportunity — you never know what Universal may offer! Forgetting to Use Discounts Remember when we talked about discounts? Don’t forget them — they could save you a LOT of money on your visit. The lower-level Annual Passes get discounts on parking, while the Premier and Preferred Passholders receive free self-parking after their first visit. Universal Orlando Parking Preferred Passholders get 10% off dining and merchandise, while Premier Passholders get 15% off. All pass levels can save when purchasing Multi-Day theme park tickets for their family and friends. And all Passholders can also save 10% on VIP experiences! Not Using Your Pass Enough Of course, one of the biggest mistakes you can make as an Annual Passholder is not using your pass enough days! For reference, these are the prices for the 2-Park Annual Passes, according to Universal Orlando’s website: 2-Park Seasonal Pass — $425 2-Park Power Pass — $475 2-Park Preferred Pass — $630 2-Park Premier Pass — $905 Universal Studios Florida 1-Park tickets to Universal Studios Florida or Universal’s Islands of Adventure start at $119 per person, so to get your money’s worth out of your pass, you’d need to visit 4 days in a year for the Seasonal and Power passes, 6 days in a year for the Preferred Pass, and 8 days in a year for the Premier Pass. Of course, if you use the benefit of going to two parks in one day, you can get your value faster because those tickets start at $174 per day. Diagon Alley So those are the mistakes you need to avoid if you purchase a Universal Orlando Annual Pass. 9. June’s quickly approaching and some MASSIVE changes are coming to Disney World early in the month. Muppets Courtyard in Hollywood Studios From the start of year-long refurbishments, to the ongoing retheming of a popular EPCOT attraction, to beginning to say goodbye to DinoLand, U.S.A. in Disney’s Animal Kingdom — we’ve already seen lots happen at Disney World in 2025 and we’re not even halfway through the year. As we enter the OFFICIAL halfway point of the year, there’s still another big change coming and subsequent announcements that we expect to be delivered in June. As a reminder, Disney’s Hollywood Studios will be undergoing a MASSIVE change in the coming years with the inclusion of a new Monsters, Inc. Land. The land will occupy the space that currently houses Muppets Courtyard. With that said, the Muppets are saying goodbye fairly soon. ©Disney June 7th will be the last day to experience both Muppet*Vision 3D and PizzeRizzo before they’re removed PERMANENTLY to make way for the new land. On June 8th and after, we’ll be staying alert for updates on the new Monsters, Inc. Land construction progress, as well as what to expect when the land opens. Muppet*Vision 3D Additionally, we’re awaiting news on the future of The Muppets in Hollywood Studios. Disney also announced that Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster will be getting a retheme to go from Aerosmith to The Muppets sometime in the future. We’re hoping to hear more about that timeline and what the new version of the ride will include. Disney has already stated that the ride will feature some of today’s biggest music stars, but we’re hoping to hear some elaboration in the near future. Disney also teased that Muppet*Vision 3D would be remembered in another form. Whether that means a special on Disney+ or something else remains to be seen. ©Disney We’ll continue to follow all the latest developments at Hollywood Studios and the rest of the Disney World Resort updates. so keep it posted right here at DFB to stay in the know! 10. Things are heating up for Orlando’s theme parks, and we’re not just talking about summer. Universal Orlando just opened a NEW theme park, Epic Universe. Disney World has expansions planned for three of its four parks. Even LEGOLAND Florida is updating some of its hotel rooms. SeaWorld Well, in an effort not to be left behind, The Orlando Business Journal reports that SeaWorld Orlando might also be getting a big expansion soon. United Parks & Resorts Inc., the parent company of SeaWorld Orlando, has announced plans for two hotels next to its theme parks, with future developments on the way, including offerings beyond hotels. The company currently has about 400 acres of undeveloped land next to its Orlando parks, meaning it has the space to grow. So it’s looking for ways to “unlock the value of this very valuable real estate.” Kraken Unleashed Two hotel projects are already underway for part of that land. One involves a 504-room, 15-story hotel that would take up about 30 acres next to SeaWorld. This hotel would have direct access to the theme park, as well as a rooftop bar, pools, a conference center, and a ballroom. The second hotel is planned near Discovery Cove and would have six stories and 250 rooms. It would sit on a 50-acre site that’s currently a parking lot. Shark Encounter at SeaWorld Of course, that still leaves plenty of acreage to explore other options. The company has also mentioned it could use the space for “housing, rides, and attractions.” Of course, nothing beyond the hotels has been confirmed at this point, so we’ll have to see what SeaWorld decides to do with all that land. However, SeaWorld Orlando did just recently open a new ride, Expedition Odyssey. Stay tuned to DFB for more. 16. The EPCOT transformation may be complete, but there are a few more projects left to be finished! EPCOT The two major things coming to EPCOT next are the reopening of Test Track after its transformation, as well as the opening of a brand-new lounge! And if you’re as hyped about a new lounge as we are, we’ve got some important information for you. The new lounge coming to EPCOT is called Geo-82, and it will be opening in the park on June 4th, 2025. Disney has said, “The name GEO-82 is a nostalgic nod to Spaceship Earth — which opened in 1982. At GEO-82, you’ll be immersed in the storied history and enduring legacy of this timeless EPCOT icon.” ©Disney Disney has shared that Geo-82 will require advance dining reservations, which are already open. Also, the lounge will be exclusively available to guests ages 21 and older. On top of that, the new GEO-82 Fireworks Experience will be part of the Enchanting Extras Collection, where you can watch Luminous: The Symphony of Us from inside the lounge! ©Disney But if you’re looking at the concept art and going — “where on earth is this lounge going?!” — Don’t worry, we’ve got you! The lounge will be located inside Spaceship Earth, in a space in the back of the sphere where you have windows that look out over World Celebration. You can see the location on the map we made below! The Geo-82 location If you’re hoping to dine here in the future, we’ve already seen a peek at the menu. They’ll be offering some unique beverages like the Caramelized Leek Martini, the Brown Butter Old Fashioned, and the Strawberry-Black Pepper Sour. ©Disney On the food side of things, they’ve got offerings like Cannellini Hummus, the Funghi Flatbread, and Jumbo Lump Crab Gâteau. Sounds delicious! ©Disney We can’t wait to check out this new dining location when it opens, and we’ll be bringing a full review once we stop by. 17. We haven’t stopped singing “Happy Birthday” to Disneyland, and we aren’t stopping anytime soon. Disneyland’s 70th Anniversary Celebration is here until summer 2026, and we’ve been trying new and fun birthday treats around the park. Time to celebrate 70 years! If you like Mickey-shaped snacks (and we know you do) and Funfetti, you’re going to want to pick up this new treat! Down in Disney California Adventure, you’ll find Schmoozies!, a spot we love to grab a quick breakfast from before heading to our first attraction. Schoomzies! We picked up Mickey-shaped Confetti Waffles with strawberry whipped cream, topped with sprinkles and powdered sugar for $10.99, and we are in the birthday spirit! Mickey waffles! When we bit into the waffle, it was crispy on the outside and soft and fluffy on the inside, and we felt like little kids again, munching on waffles for breakfast. The best part? It was filled with strawberry sauce! The filling The filling had a sweet, syrup-like texture and taste, and when we paired it with the strawberry whipped cream, the tartness of the strawberry came out, turning this into a strawberry lover’s dream. The menu We were obsessed with the sprinkles on the inside, which reminded us of the thrill of a Funfetti cake at a birthday party. All of the sprinkles were the colors of the 70th Anniversary Celebration, and there were even a little more sprinkles on top. There wasn’t an insane amount of powdered sugar on top, but this was great because of the sweetness from the inside filling. Obsessed is an understatement Mickey waffles are always one of our favorite things to try, and while it might just be for the nostalgia, it’s also because Mickey-shaped food is a building block of a Disney Park. We’re so glad this lived up to the hype! When we’re ready for another quick breakfast, there are a lot of 70th snacks to try (well over 70, by the way), so this is an incredible way to start off the day and still have room for plenty more snacks. We have tons of new snacks to try, but in the meantime, make sure you’re following Disney Food Blog for all the Disney food news you need. 20. When dining at Disney World, you’ve got a TON of options. Want something upscale? You’ve got it. Something middle of the road? You can find it at Disney World. And if you’re looking for something relaxed, casual, and quick, you can find that as well. One of the best options for a quick and easy meal is heading to the quick service location at your hotel, and today we are stopping by one to try some new menu items! Disney’s Art of Animation Resort We recently stopped by Landscape of Flavors at Disney’s Art of Animation Resort to check out some new menu items. We love it when new food comes to Disney World, so let’s see if these new dishes are worth the stop! Is it worth a stop on your next trip to the Most Magical Place on Earth? Find out here! Atmosphere Landscape of Flavors is located inside of Disney’s Art of Animation Resort. It is a cafeteria-style dining location with a plethora of seating options. It serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner, so if you are feeling hungry while you are at Art of Animation, this could be a great option for a quick meal. Landscape of Flavors There are four sections to the dining areas that are themed to the same films that inspired the areas of Art of Animation. You will find an area inspired by The Lion King, Cars, Finding Nemo, and The Little Mermaid. We loved the themed areas! Like other cafeteria-style options at Disney World, you will find multiple stations inside the restaurant. You can either order your food from one of the stations or stop by a grab-and-go station for an even quicker and easier option. Each station has different food options, so take a look at the menus overhead to figure out which station you want to go to. You can also place a Mobile Order and pick up your food from the Mobile Order station. Lots of different food stalls But enough about the restaurant — what’s on the menu here?! Menu Landscape of Flavors is a food court location inside of Disney’s Art of Animation, so it has a pretty extensive menu of options. There are entrees such as Mongolian Beef, Fish and Chips, and Ramen Noodle Bowls. ©Disney You can also choose from pizza and pasta, including a Large Cheese Pizza or Chicken-Parmesan Pasta. ©Disney There are also options for burgers, chicken, and sandwiches. You can grab a Cheeseburger, Caprese Chicken Sandwich, or a Meatball Sub. ©Disney There are also soups and salads, including a Caesar Salad and a Greek Salad. ©Disney There is also a plant-based option, the Korean-style Impossible Burger. You can also get a hot dog, the Chili-Cheese Foot-long Hot Dog. ©Disney There are a few options for sides like Garlic Bread Sticks. ©Disney There are also 10 different options for kids’ meals including Chicken Strips, Sesame Chicken, and Macaroni & Cheese. ©Disney Of course, you can also grab some sweet treats at Landscape of Flavors including the Sketchbook Cake or a Cookies ‘n Cream Sundae Cupcake. ©Disney There are also lots of options from the bakery section. ©Disney There are also enhancements and fresh fruit available. ©Disney As well as grab and go snacks such as a Yogurt Parfait, Pretzels with Hummus, and Uncrustables. ©Disney There is also a wide variety of beverages available. ©Disney You can also get tea and specialty coffees. ©Disney As well as hot beverages, milk, and milk alternatives. ©Disney There are also options for juice and water. ©Disney If you are looking for an adult beverage, you will also find specialty cocktails. ©Disney There is also a selection of beer. ©Disney And wine offered by the glass and by the bottle. ©Disney We made it through everything that is offered at Landscape of Flavors, so now, onto the main event — the food! Eats We started off with the Butter Chicken with Naan Bread for $14.19. It is served with steamed rice, green beans, and naan bread. Who knew we could get that classic butter chicken flavor at a Disney World resort? The sauce was flavorful and filled with spices, but not spicy. The chicken was on the drier side, but we had plenty of sauce to help. We loved the creaminess of the sauce, especially with the rice. Butter Chicken with Naan Bread The rice was cooked well, and the green beans were flavored with pepper, onion, and garlic. They even tasted a bit smoky! Our meal came with a side of naan that was a bit thinner than classic naan, but we loved to dip it into the sauce and scoop everything up together. There was a hit of garlic too, and it was a bit chewy from sitting out for a bit, but if it was fresh for the day, it would have had a great texture. The chicken We also tried the Ramen Noodle Bowl with Beef for $13.49. It features fresh vegetables and soft-boiled egg in miso broth. Ramen Noodle Bowl with Beef The ramen bowl takes a bit longer to order, but for the best reason — it’s made to order! They cook the noodles fresh and assemble them together, making our bowl fresh and just how we like it. The noodles were well-cooked and were tender with that bit of chew to them. The beef was tender and had a bit of chew, and mixed well with the miso-forward broth. There was even a bit of sweetness in the back! When we split the egg, it was runny and soaked in soy sauce, which is one of our favorite ramen toppings. The other vegetables were bok choy, carrots, corn, mushrooms, edamame, sweet peppers, and bamboo shoots, and like the butter chicken, we’re surprised we can pick this up at a quick-service restaurant. It’s a great meal option for something a bit lighter but also filling. We were really impressed! There were also some new options for kids’ meals, so we grabbed the Sesame Chicken Kids’ Meal for $8.29. This dish has broccoli, red pepper, and onion with rice served with choice of two sides and small lowfat milk or small DASANI® bottled water. Sesame Chicken Kids’ Meal We picked up a kids meal, and even though it’s for kids, we might be picking this up again for ourselves in the future. The chicken had a thick layer of sauce that was sticky and sweet, and you could taste the spices, and while it isn’t spicy, it’s more of a spiced chicken versus sweet. You get three pieces of chicken, a scoop of rice, and a small scoop of broccoli and red pepper. The veggies were charred and tender and matched the overall feeling of the meal. So good! We finished off our meal with the Sketchbook Cake for $6.79. It is colorful vanilla sponge cake, vanilla buttercream, chocolate ganache, and edible sketches. Sketchbook Cake When we saw this dessert, we knew we had to get it! The vanilla cake was moist and had tons of vanilla buttercream (frosting lovers, this is for you!). The icing was on the sweet side, and the chocolate ganache was rich. Too cute! This might not be the most unique flavors we’ve ever had, but it’s a solid piece of cake that was super cute, and yes, the sketches on top are edible! Nosh or Not This Disney World restaurant is a must-visit if… You are staying at the Art of Animation You are looking for faster meal options You want a variety of foods so everyone can find something they’ll like You should skip this Disney World spot if… You aren’t staying at the Art of Animation You want a longer, sit-down meal You want more classic dishes like burgers and chicken tenders (which we love, too!) Overall Landscape of Flavors was a hit for us! We had a variety of food and enjoyed all of it. They had hearty meals that would fill us up after a long park day, and we loved that we can pick a meal up and head back to our room to relax. Since the restaurant is cafeteria style, you can find something for each member of the family all in one place and grab a dessert while you’re at it. Because of the location, we wouldn’t go out of our way to eat there if we weren’t staying at the resort, but if you are staying there, it should be on your list. Lots of great options! In the meantime, we’ll be on the lookout for more restaurant updates from Disney World and beyond. Make sure you stay tuned to the Disney Food Blog for the latest Disney news and more! 25. Disney World has been focused on bringing in new experiences for guests throughout the parks, and one way they’ve been doing this is with lounges. Lounges are specialized spaces that mainly focus on drinks and small plates, where guests can sit in a relaxing space before heading back to their park day. ©Disney Two new lounges are coming to Disney World. The Beak and Barrel, a pirate-themed lounge, will open in late 2025, and GEO-82, the first adults-only lounge, will open on June 4th. While we’re excited for these to open, let’s chat about why Disney is opening them. The Beak and Barrel opening in Adventureland in Magic Kingdom will be completely pirate-themed. From ships in a bottle, an anchor filled with candles, and a parrot who tells stories from his perch in the lounge, this family-friendly experience will allow you to become a pirate. ©Disney GEO-82, located in Spaceship Earth in EPCOT, will be an elegant, adults-only space with refined small bites and sophisticated drinks. This lounge will welcome all those who are 21 and older and will have views of EPCOT as you become “immersed in the storied history and enduring legacy of this timeless EPCOT icon.” ©Disney These sound incredible, but why is Disney adding two new lounges this year? 1. Disney Wants You to Stay in the Parks Longer Adventureland Why does Disney add new attractions, restaurants, experiences, and anything to the parks? Because they want you to stay longer! New lounges, especially with booked reservations, could have you staying in the park longer throughout the day. If you’re local, you might come in earlier in Magic Kingdom before heading to The Beak and Barrel to catch a ride on Pirates of the Caribbean or stay later and watch Happily Ever After. ©Disney Maybe as you head out, you stop at a gift shop and grab an extra souvenir, or maybe you stayed so late that you need to get another meal. The longer they can get you to stay in the parks, the more money they can potentially make. 2. They Want You to Spend More Money ©Disney At the end of the day, Disney is a business with the goal of making money. While we don’t have prices for The Beak and Barrel, we do for GEO-82, and if you’re planning on going, be prepared to drop a fair amount of money. A small bite, like the Truffled Ahi Tuna, will set you back $23, and drinks cost on average about $25. With lounges, Disney can market them as specialized experiences, so hopefully you won’t bat an eye at spending more money than at another restaurant. Luminous at EPCOT Disney can even offer more experiences within the lounges, like the GEO-82 Fireworks Experience, which will allow you to watch Luminous: The Symphony of Us from inside the lounge. You’ll be in the air conditioning, with a seat, and can sip on champagne and special small bites. This sounds incredible, but it costs $179 per person, not including tax or gratuity. Oga’s Cantina Even about eight years later, Oga’s Cantina, another lounge in Hollywood Studios, is always busy and it can still be difficult to get reservations. The lounges are special, and Disney will add that special pricing to them. 3. Disney Can Target Specific Audiences ©Disney While Disney Cruise Line is no stranger to adults-only lounges, GEO-82 will be the first adults-only space inside the theme parks at Disney World. Making this 21 can allow Disney to target the adults of the groups who want a special night out or a theme park space without kids everywhere. Lots of people are willing to spend a higher dollar amount to have a kid-free space! ©Disney The Beak and Barrel lounge is geared towards families. Pirate-loving kids will want to get their super cool (alcohol-free) drinks, and adults will walk back with a souvenir mug all themed to pirates. These themed spaces make it easier to target that specific audience. 4. Lounges are Cheaper to Build TRON While we would love brand-new attractions every month at Disney World, it’s not practical, budget-wise. These lounges certainly aren’t cheap to build, but they are significantly more affordable than huge attractions or full restaurants. This way, Disney can still bring something new into the parks more often without breaking the budget. Construction Walls New spaces bring in more guests who don’t travel often or may only go to Disney World every few years. If Disney can bring hype around the lounges, people will be ready to dive in. At the end of the day, Disney is always trying to build experiences to have you stay in the parks and come back more often, and lounges are a great way to do that. When both of the lounges open, we’re going to be visiting, trying the food and drinks, so you know if it’s worth your time and money to visit. 26. While most of us still miss Disney World’s free Magical Express airport transportation service (and will never quite get over this missing perk), there is another way to get from the Orlando Airport to your Disney World hotel that’s equally convenient. Mears Connect bus Mears Connect has been around for a few years now, and while it’s a paid travel service (unlike Magical Express, which was free), many find that it’s easier than using a rideshare service like Uber, especially if they’re traveling with younger kids. Now, Mears Connect just announced a change that we have a feeling lots of travelers will LOVE! Currently, this is a year-long partnership and will play the cartoon on Mears Connect buses on all routes. 27. Epic Universe is full of new dining experiences and opportunities, but you’re not just limited to dining inside the park! Universal Helios Grand Hotel Helios Grand Hotel is located right next to the park, and you can easily pop in during your park day for a nice meal or a drink. The rooftop bar, Bar Helios, is especially sought after due to its incredible theme park views, but it’s pretty pricey to dine here. Are the eats and drinks worth the dent to your wallet? We found out! Recently, while exploring the park, we decided to stop by Bar Helios to grab a bite to eat, and the Heritage Crispy Chicken Wings are what caught our eye first, partially because they’re $24! These were served on labneh (which is a cheese that is sort of like plain Greek yogurt), honey lime, and pomegranate. The wings all had a decent amount of meat, but $4 a wing is still pretty expensive. Since they had pomegranate seeds and a honey lime flavor, they were a great mix of sweet and savory, which we really enjoyed. Are they good wings? For sure, just know you’ll have to pay a hefty price for them. Heritage Crispy Chicken Wings We also picked up the Fried Halloumi, which are essentially fried cheese cubes, for $19. It comes with spiced honey and kibbeh. The breading here is a Panko breadcrumb-type coating, which we have no issues with, especially since the ratio of breading to cheese was really nice. Halloumi cheese is a denser cheese, so don’t expect a cheese pull here. We got around 10–12 pieces on our plate, so it is a shareable appetizer, and we really enjoyed the spiced honey sauce on top. Fried Halloumi Overall, we enjoyed the dish a lot, and if you’re going to Bar Helios, knowing you’re about to drop some cash on an upscale snack, then we don’t think this is a bad option. However, we don’t recommend it for picky eaters or those who are choosy about textures, because a lot of the options at this spot are so upscale that it may be hard to find something you like. Bar Helios Ultimately, this is a lovely little bar with some great options on the menu. We enjoyed our meal, and the vibes were ON POINT. The music was just right, and the views were perfect. Come around golden hour for the BEST experience. Looking for more recent Epic Universe news? Check out our posts below! More Epic Universe News! REVIEW: BEWARE!
