When it comes to dining in Epic Universe, it can feel pretty overwhelming! We get it, but that’s why we’re here to help. Celestial Park We’re dining at each and every new food spot, snack stand, and restaurant in this new park to help you decide where you should go during your upcoming vacation. There are a LOT of restaurants in Celestial Park alone, so which ones are worth your time? Are any of them good breakfast spots? We’re trying out Oak & Star Tavern‘s breakfast today to let you know our full thoughts! Atmosphere The Oak & Star Tavern is located to the left of the entrance to Dark Universe. It’s a quick service restaurant that specializes in barbecue, and as it’s located in the Cosmic Garden of Celestial Park, it’s got heavy ties to nature and the cosmos. The Oak & Star Tavern In fact, you’ll even find a the hearth of an ancient, starlight-filled oak tree inside the restaurant! Oak & Star Tavern There’s lots of natural light and seating located throughout the restaurant, and you can also visit its attached bar, The Plastered Owl, from inside OR outside the restaurant. Menu For breakfast, you’ve got 7 different menu options that you’ll find each day; however, keep in mind that sometimes the restaurant could run out of certain items! ©Universal Additionally, there are 6 different sides to choose from as well. ©Universal Without further ado, it’s time to EAT! Eats We started off with the Oak and Star Sausage, Egg and Cheese Sandwich for $11.99, which is smoked sausage, eggs, cheddar cheese, mayo, ketchup, and pan sobao bun with French fries. Oak and Star Sausage, Egg and Cheese Sandwich The sausage here is not breakfast sausage, it’s much closer to a hot dog or smoked sausage, and this whole meal is MASSIVE. It’s certainly a great amount of food for the price. We feel the sausage could have used a little more work, because the casing around it was really hard to bite into and made eating this very messy, but the eggs were nice and soft, and the cheese and sauces all came together very well. Don’t sleep on this! The fries are fantastic — way better than what we were expecting! The barbecue seasoning on them was perfection, and we think it could be made even BETTER by dunking them in the different barbecue sauces you have on the table. It’s HUGE Then we grabbed a sweeter option, the Brûlée Hawaiian Mango Bread for $11.99, which is mango bread, pineapple, strawberry, whipped cream, and toasted coconut with scrambled eggs and bacon. Brûlée Hawaiian Mango Bread We can’t get enough of this delicious mango bread and the way it brings a unique twist on a classic American breakfast! It’s moist, perfectly toasted, and the fruit on top was so fresh, it all worked so beautifully together. Now, ours didn’t come with toasted coconut as advertised, which is something to keep in mind. Delicious! While the eggs were fluffy, they didn’t have any flavor to them, so they were pretty bland. The bacon, however, was fantastic! It was perfectly juicy, crispy without being overdone, and we think this is a great platter for the price. We’d get this time and time again! Finally, it was time for the Chorizo & Eggs for $11.99, which is spicy tomato and pepper stew, chorizo, baked eggs, feta, and brioche toast. Chorizo & Eggs This portion had our eyes bugging out of our heads! The eggs were perfectly runny, and the chorizo was incredible with a great amount of kick without being too spicy. The peppers and onions add so much flavor, the sauce is very robust with a great tomato flavor, the feta lightens the dish a bit, and the brioche is buttered fantastically. Obsessed! We think this is absolutely worth raving about, again, especially for the price! Nosh or Not This Epic Universe restaurant is a must-visit if… You’re looking for a solid, quick service option You have picky eaters, or are one yourself You want something that will help you save money by getting a big portion of food for a great price You should skip this Epic Universe spot if… You’re not planning on spending a lot of time in Celestial Park You’re not a breakfast person (but we do recommend trying lunch too!) You’re looking for a table service meal Overall We absolutely think this is a great breakfast option in the parks, and these meals are of great quality, a fantastic price, and wonderful portion sizes that will keep you full for hours while you run around the park. There are so many places to eat around Disney World, and Disney is always dropping new menu items and limited-edition snacks! Hollywood Studios! If you haven’t noticed, it’s been a Stitch takeover this summer. Disney recently released the live action adaptation of the Disney animated classic Lilo and Stitch, and that means more Stitch at the Parks! We recently went over to Hollywood Studios to try a brand-new snack themed after the beloved blue alien. Come with us to see if it was worth it! Hollywood Studios has many places to eat, both quick service locations and sit-down restaurants. We stopped by Backlot Express to grab the Experiment 626 Pudding, which you can also get at ABC Commissary. Backlot Express If you haven’t been, the Backlot Express has a cool theme with a movie production warehouse style look. Movie buffs will like all the little details splattered all around the place! It’s a quick service restaurant, so you can get your basic quick service meals here, or some unique offerings as well (like what we just got). There it is! This thing has a lot of flavors going on with it — with sour blue raspberry pudding with ube-passionfruit streusel crumble, blue pineapple whipped cream, topped with a flower. At first, we were a little nervous about all the flavors coming together, but let’s see how it tastes! Experiment 626 Pudding! This is something kids are definitely going to want based on the look of the pudding alone! It’s a bright blue color, with a gorgeous flower on top of it — it looks so pretty! Taste-wise, we were pleasantly surprised! The pineapple whipped cream was extremely light, which helps with the sour aspect of the pudding. If you aren’t a fan of sour treats, you might not want to get this. It looks so pretty! It reminded us of a blue raspberry Sour Patch Kid — that’s what this thing tasted like. As for the crumble, the texture reminded us of the coating on strawberry shortcake ice cream bars. The passionfruit flavor of the pudding is not very strong, which we would have liked to see come through a bit more. Stitch gets a new snack! In all honesty, the ube-passionfruit streusel is just kind of there. It adds a nice blend of texture to the pudding. The flower is also edible with this snack, so you can finish up everything in that little cup! Who wants a scoop? It wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t our favorite thing out there. Like we said, kids are definitely going to want to try this thing — but be warned, because we don’t think they’ll like this that much. The flavor profile is a bit more elevated, but your kid might even enjoy it! If you’re at a Backlot Express and want a sweet treat, we would still take the Wookie Cookie over this. Aloha, Disney fans! A brand-new collection just dropped at Walmart, and we’re obsessed. Stitch at Typhoon Lagoon Our favorite duo, Lilo and Stitch, have made their way to sandals, cups, backpacks, and more and are so ready to cause some crazy this summer. We found new items for kids and adults, including items for all the Stitch lovers. Big news for Harry Potter fans! We found out who’s going to play the next Harry, Ron, and Hermione. ©Deadline HBO is making a new Harry Potter series that will retell the story of Harry Potter and his friends and will be “authentic to the original books and bring Harry Potter and these incredible adventures to new audiences around the world, while the original, classic and beloved films will remain at the core of the franchise,” according to HBO. After an open casting call for British children ages 9 to 11, the new stars have officially been announced for the series. Dominic McLaughlin will be playing Harry Potter, Alastair Stout will be Ron Weasley, and Arabella Stanton will be Hermione Granger. ©HBO Thousands of kids auditioned for the roles, but in the end, three were selected to enter the Wizarding World for the series. Other actors have already been announced, such as John Lithgow, who will play Albus Dumbledore, and Paapa Essiedu, who will be Severus Snape. The show producers say the series will be “full of the fantastic detail, much-loved characters, and dramatic locations that Harry Potter fans have loved for over 25 years.” ©HBO The series is set to debut on HBO in 2026, about 30 years after “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone” hit the shelves in 1997 and 15 years after The Deathly Hallows Part 2 played in theaters. EPCOT is home to so many restaurants that it can be difficult to decide where to eat. That’s why we’re here! We try all the restaurants and bring you the details so you can figure out where to stop on your Disney World trip. Spice Road Table We headed to Spice Road Table in the Morocco Pavilion at EPCOT to see if this spot still delivers excellent quality and flavors. Come with us to dinner and see if Spice Road Table is somewhere you should add to your “must-do” list. Atmosphere Welcome to Spice Road Table! This restaurant is by the water of the World Showcase and has covered seating. Covered patio Walking in, you’ll see a wall filled with spices on the tiled floor. Reservations are recommended, but some same-day reservations may be available. Spices The covered patio has beautiful lamps and fans along the ceiling to help you stay cool. There are even some additional umbrellas to help with that brutal Florida heat, but don’t worry, there are some tables inside as well. The deep teals take us straight to Morocco! Fans to stay cool Now that we’re at our table, let’s review the menu. Menu The Spice Road Table is available for lunch and dinner and has Mediterranean-inspired small plates. We love picking out a few small plates to share among the table and ending it with dessert. From seafood options, chicken, and a plant-based option, even with a limited menu, we can usually find dishes to easily share with the whole party. The menu Connected to the name, the dishes are filled with spices, but are not always spicy! They use bright, fresh flavors and are lighter than other theme park dining locations. They also have specialty beverages, wine, sangria, beer, and cider. Grab a seat We’re getting hungry after reading that menu, so let’s eat! Eats We started off with the Calamari with Harissa Remoulade for $13. Calamari This new menu item had a great, crispy texture, without being too hard to bite into. It’s a bit chewy because the octopus provides a briny seafood taste. Don’t be afraid of that bright orange sauce — it’s not spicy! It’s mild and brought a bit of tang to the dish. There were red peppers and fresh lemon to add bright flavors. The sauce While this might not be our favorite meal we’ve ever had at Spice Road Table, it’s a solid dish, and if you’re a calamari fan, you’ll want to add this to your list. Yum! We also ordered the Spice Road Sampler for $15. Sampler While all of the dishes served here are small plates, this combines three popular menu items and even small dishes. The sampler has zaalouk, spiced lamb kefta, and house-made hummus fries. We dove into the hummus fries, one of the most popular items on the menu. The hummus is fried like a falafel, so you can eat it with your hands. Three large fries were topped with cucumbers and tomatoes and served with a citrus-chipotle sauce with a zing! It was spicy, but we loved the heat that came with it. Hummus Fries The lamb kefta is similar to the kebabs you can get at Tangerine Cafe, which we love. It is served with a mint chutney and tastes of pistachios, which bring in a bright flavor and a bit of crunch and sweetness. Lamb kefta The zaalouk came with bread similar to naan or pita and a chipotle dip. You get plenty of dip to scoop, and it has a low heat from the spices, but it is not as spicy as the sauce with the hummus fries. We like that we get three different meals together, which allows us to try other meals when we can’t decide. Plenty of dip! We’re never leaving a restaurant without a sweet treat, so we ordered the Dessert Platter for $11. Dessert trio You get a variety of Moroccan pastries to try. The cookie might look tough, but it was SO soft. It’s a little chewy and sticks to the top of your mouth. We tasted a deep, warm, spiced flavor with a cherry middle that brought in some tartness. The cookie The flakier croissant reminded us of a baklava, combining a croissant and a cinnamon roll. It was swimming in a light honey-coated coating with chopped nuts on top. The sweetness level is perfect for an after-dinner dessert. Inside The third piece is a spiced cake covered in a thin layer of honey and sugar. The bottom was soaked, and this cake was so delicious that we wished we had a whole one. Fluffy cake Drinks To drink, we had the Pomegranate Mimosa for $14.50. Cheers! Mimosa fans are going to be obsessed with this one. It was cold and bubbly, and the pomegranate flavor was very mild with some tang, while the mimosa side of the drink was strong. The seeds either float to the top or bottom, so if you want to eat them, you can, but if you don’t love the crunch, you can easily avoid it. Mimosa lovers will be obsessed Nosh or Not Spice Road Table needs to be on your list if… You want lighter, smaller dishes You enjoy spiced dishes and Mediterranean flavors You love to sit by the water and enjoy a relaxing meal You might want to skip if… You want a wider variety You enjoy more classic or familiar meals You want a fast dining experience to get to your next activity Our meal Overall Spice Road Table is our hidden oasis in the very busy World Showcase. We love enjoying lighter dishes by the water and truly relaxing before heading to our next attraction. Our dishes have a variety of flavors, from deep-spiced to sweet to bright, which allows each dish to be a star. We like to head here repeatedly for a relaxing dining experience while enjoying our EPCOT day. One of EPCOT’s most popular Annual Passholder perks has returned for this year’s V.I.Passholder Days, but Disney is heavily enforcing who has access. Annual Passholder During the length of Disney World’s V.I.Passholders promotion through July 13th, an exclusive lounge for Annual Passholders will operate inside the Restaurant Marrakesh in EPCOT’s Morocco Pavilion. The AP lounge is open from 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM and offers numerous amenities to guests, including being able to: Chill out in an air-conditioned area Enjoy complimentary snacks and water Charge mobile devices Pick up a complimentary Passholder button Capture the fun with special Disney PhotoPass offerings There is a catch to the lounge however. ONLY Annual Passholders are allowed access, and can’t bring in non-AP guests. EPCOT Annual Passholder Lounge To enter, Passholders must “show their valid Annual Pass card, linked MagicBand, MagicBand+ or Disney MagicMobile pass, and a government-issued photo ID.” Free pin The lounge is part of the larger V.I.Passholder event at the resort. It’s officially “Cool Kid Summer” at Disney World! This summer-long event brings new entertainment and more opportunities to meet characters across ALL four Disney World theme parks, and there is even some bonus fun happening at select Disney World hotels. EPCOT Of course, we are bringing you full coverage of “Cool Kid Summer,” including the makeover of CommuniCore Hall in EPCOT to GoofyCore. We are checking out this new goof-tastic experience in EPCOT, so let’s go! “Cool Kid Summer” is happening all summer long at Disney World. From May 27th through September 1st, there are lots of things happening to celebrate the summer season at Disney World. Over in EPCOT, CommuniCore Hall has undergone a transformation to GoofyCore, and this is a great spot for all the cool kids to hang out this summer. The best part? Air conditioning! However, let’s see what else GoofyCore has to offer. GoofyCore is here! The Flower & Garden exhibit has been closed down and CommuniCore Hall has reopened as GoofyCore. This area is a great place to take kids as there will be the opportunity to dance along with the DJs’ tunes and participate in games like Loopy Limbo and Parachutes ‘n’ Pipsqueaks. Parachutes ‘n’ Pipsqueaks This new area is perfect for the kiddos, and we love the different activities and props here. Goofy’s team (AKA the dancers) are also fantastic, and they were doing a wonderful job encouraging kids to get up and play. Goofy’s Team The DJ plays a great mix of music for kids, too. We heard everything from Baby Shark to High School Musical to Frozen. So, your kiddo will likely hear something that they love! Dance along to some tunes! We will say that the space could be a tad overwhelming depending on your kid. This won’t be a spot to for a relaxing break from the sun, but it will definitely be a fun break from the sun! Most of the action was on one side of CommuniCore Hall, so if your kid is looking for something less stimulating, you can stick to the other side. There is still quite a bit going on and you will still be able to hear the music over there. Participation is strongly encouraged! You won’t be able to see a lot of characters inside GoofyCore, but you will find Goofy! Goofy really gets in on all the fun and does the activities alongside the kids. If you are looking for more characters, try checking out Get Animated at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. While there aren’t as many characters, GoofyCore is home to Goofy’s team and Goofy himself. Disney World has welcomed two new shows to Hollywood Studios, and as much as we love new attractions, this changes how we do our park day. Animation Courtyard The Little Mermaid — A Musical Adventure debuted and has a Lightning Lane queue, but should you use it? Let’s find out! Lightning Lane Multi Pass can help you skip those dreaded lines during your park day. When we go to Hollywood Studios, there are some attractions we will always choose for one of our Lightning Lane selections. The Little Mermaid — A Musical Adventure will become a Lightning Lane option in about a month. New signs! Slinky Dog Dash is usually one of our top picks! That queue can get long, no matter what time of day you go, and we try to avoid a long queue in the heat as much as we can. Slinky Dog Dash The Tower of Terror and Toy Story Mania! are other options that we tend to choose. Both are busy, and while we might be able to sneak in at a lower wait time, if we know we can’t leave Hollywood Studios without riding them, we’ll pick it for our Lightning Lane. Disney’s Hollywood Studios What about this new Little Mermaid show? During the first day of operations, we saw the standby queue get as high as 80 minutes. That’s pretty long for a show that’s about 20 minutes long! Again, we won’t be able to pick it as a Lightning Lane for about another month so the crowds might be drastically lower by then. ©Disney Shows from 9:15 AM to 7:15 PM, and if they’re running shows about every 30 minutes, on average, that’s about 20 shows you could view. While the theater isn’t massive, it’s not small and fits a good number of people. The theatre! Since there are so many showings, we are leaning toward skipping this as a Lightning Lane selection. If those long wait times continue past the first week, we might change our opinions and say book that Lightning Lane! It most likely won’t be the first attraction we choose, but if you know you need to see the show, we would book it for peace of mind. Ariel Hollywood Studios is filled with lots of different live show offerings, so if you’re not obsessed with The Little Mermaid but know you want to sit down in a theater for a bit, there are other options to choose from: Beauty and the Beast — Live on Stage For the First Time in Forever: A Frozen Sing-along Celebration Disney Villains: Unfairly Ever After Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular If you just want to watch something new in Hollywood Studios, you can even catch Disney Villains: Unfairly Ever After, which debuted the same day as The Little Mermaid. This show does not offer a Lightning Lane. Maleficent in Disney Villains: Unfairly Ever After At the end of the day, you also don’t need a Lightning Lane to watch the attraction! If you didn’t choose The Little Mermaid as one of your options and decide last minute that you do want to see it, you can hop in the queue and wait for the next available show. Hollywood Studios is going through some big changes! Disney’s Hollywood Studios The Disney theme park recently opened two brand new shows and is in the process of moving the Muppets from their courtyard to rock ‘n’ roll! While some of the changes might be controversial, one thing that we’re pretty excited for is new places to grab our favorite merch! Luckily for us, a new store is finally open! It’s time to shop till we drop at Hollywood Studios! Over in Animation Courtyard, In Character is finally open! In Character! This reopened store is attached to the new show, The Little Mermaid – A Musical Adventure, which officially opened on May 27th, 2025! This store was previously open when Voyage of the Little Mermaid was still running before it closed in 2020. The store never reopened until now. So many princess things! Inside the shop, we found tons of princess merchandise like dolls, dresses, Minnie Ears, and more! A look at the Ariel art! The store is also themed to match the new show with touches of Little Mermaid artwork. Ariel is behind the counter with Flounder and Sebastian taking front and center. Another look at the art! The store itself isn’t huge, but it will be great for a post-show souvenir or anyone looking for princess-specific merchandise. Almost the entire store There’s even some Mickey and friends merchandise as well as bubble wands! So many cute things! The store will operate with the park hours, and while it isn’t huge, we are so excited to see it reopened! Any time there is unused space in the parks, we aren’t the biggest fans. (We’re looking at you, Stage 1 Company Store.) So many toys! We’ve already checked out the new show (along with the new Disney Villains show that also opened on the same day) so now we’re glad we have some merchandise to go along with it. Two new Walt Disney World stage shows are now presenting storytelling enhanced with technology. “Disney Villains: Unfairly Ever After” and “The Little Mermaid – A Musical Adventure” have arrived on the daily schedule at Disney’s Hollywood Studios theme park, and they both feature fresh special effects surrounding familiar characters. The villains show starts with a splashy set that’s framed by, well, frames. It’s all playing off Magic Mirror as a central character, and a lot happens on screens within those jauntily placed frames, including appearances by 85 villains and sidekicks plus shattering effects. On stage, it’s Cruella De Vil, Captain Hook and Maleficent pleading their cases to be the most misunderstood. Magic Mirror, long tasked with “fairest of them all” duties, is asked to pick. “They don’t know one another. They’ve never met. They don’t know each other’s stories. And as far as they’re concerned, they are the most amazing dark creature in their world,” Mark Renfrow, show director, said after a media preview Tuesday evening. The three principal baddies get solos to plead their case to Mr. Mirror (“Oh, for the day when only one villain summoned me,” he bemoans.) The stage/screen/frames morph to reflect their individual themes (Cruella as fashionista; Hook’s look is, naturally, nautical). There are unexpected movements, too, plus frantic activity between the more than 20 frames that surround the stage. The show is staged in a renovated Sunset Showcase, former home of Lightning McQueen Racing Academy. Inside, the stage was inspired by the Biltmore Theater in Los Angeles, said art director Matt Fiuza. He also researched Spanish galleons, Gothic ruins, English mansion and the American vaudeville vibe, he said. It’s built to impress. Audience members’ “chins need to hit the ground when they first walk in,” Fiuza said. Frames and screens present 85 villains to audience members at new show at Hollywood Studios. It’s driven by a musical number,” Fiuza said. “And we needed to keep a sense of whimsy and fun and levity.” The unfair sweepstakes are ultimately determined by a round of applause, despite the presence of Magic Mirror. “Remember, he can only reflect. So that’s why he needs us to answer their question,” Renfrow said. The villains show was announced in September. For park visitors, It could whet appetites for the villains land that was announced for Magic Kingdom a month before that. “They already love villains,” Fiuza said. “And they are just gonna love them even more.” Mermaid’s tale “The Little Mermaid – A Musical Adventure” is a familiar tale. Disney has produced two big-screen editions, and Hollywood Studios was home to “Voyage of the Little Mermaid” until 2020. The new show moves into the same theater, but it has new tricks and a “Mermaid” fans favorite tune. The new proscenium is lined with buttons, keys, bottles, bells and thingamabobs, and that’s a sign a la “Part of Your World,” said James Silson, show director. “The lens through which the show was written and created from and the aesthetic which went down the path out was truly about seeing through her eyes,” he said. At times, folks see animated sea creatures, live actors, puppets and special effects at the same time. “I think the inspiration for that was really just that whole concept of multilayer. You know, multiplane was an animation created by [Walt] Disney,” Silson said. Walt Disney Studios developed the multiplane camera and technology that gave film depth in the 1930s. It famously was used in the production of “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.” “I’ve always wanted to see Ariel as part of ‘Under the Sea’ and be in that song and dance number. That is the big production number of the show, and you want the starlet in the middle of it,” Silson said. The production includes “Kiss the Girl,” which was not in the previous “Mermaid” show. And now, through hidden maneuvers, Ariel swims. “In the previous show, she would sit in her shell a lot,” Silson said. “I think the goal is to present it in a way that feels to the audience … is something that they could not get from just sitting at home and watching the film,” Silson said. Getting scammed while traveling is an absolutely miserable experience. Fortunately, we’re here to help make sure that DOESN’T happen to you! Let’s go somewhere! Whether we’re traveling to Disney World or around the world, we’ve seen and experienced it all. If you’ve got the travel bug like us, chances are you’re keeping up with the latest trends and scams to avoid. In fact, if you plan on traveling to the United Kingdom in 2025, we have to warn you about a new scam that has come to light. According to The Washington Post and other reports, travelers have been getting scammed into paying more than is actually necessary to acquire an Electronic Travel Authorization for the United Kingdom. UK Pavilion The UK requires travelers from several countries around the world — including the United States — to have an Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) to gain entry. While this requirement is fairly new, that hasn’t stopped scammers from taking advantage of those not in the know. © parliament.uk Initially costing £10, the price jumped dramatically in April to £16 — which is still less than a lot of folks have been paying needlessly. According to The Washington Post, Tripadvisor, and more forums, some people have been scammed into paying up to 5 times more than they should. The problem? Scam websites are preying on confused travelers. These folks don’t really know what to do and are buying their ETAs on unofficial websites for unfair prices. London © parliament.uk The scam sites will often “ask for cash, money transfers or additional fees beyond the standard ETA cost.” The Washington Post also warns to be wary of web addresses that look close to the official government website, but aren’t. The trick to avoid this scam is really simple: ONLY BUY YOUR ETA THROUGH THE GOV.UK WEBSITE OR THE OFFICIAL UK ETA APP. If the address is a variation of this (such as ETAUK.co.uk), you’re probably looking at a scam. Some sites have been charging services for “support”, which isn’t technically illegal but is a waste of money. Other sites have no problem stealing your money and — potentially — your identity. ©Getty Images The official gov.uk website states that “whether you can get an ETA depends on your nationality as shown on your passport.” Travelers who do not need an ETA are as follows: You have a visa You have permission to live, work, or study in the UK (including settled or pre-settled status or right of abode) You are transiting through a UK airport and you will not pass through border control (check with your airline if you are not sure) You are a British or Irish citizen You are travelling with a British overseas territories citizen passport You are travelling with a British National (Overseas) passport You live in Ireland and you are travelling from Ireland, Guernsey, Jersey, or the Isle of Man You are a child travelling on the France-UK school trip travel information form You are exempt from immigration control or obtaining permission to enter You are a dual citizen with British or Irish citizenship (You can prove dual citizenship with a valid British passport, valid Irish passport, or other valid passport containing a certificate of entitlement) United Kingdom pavilion An ETA allows you to “come to the UK for up to 6 months for tourism, visiting family and friends, business or short-term study, come to the UK for up to 3 months on the Creative Worker visa concession,” as well as the ability to visit for a permitted paid engagement and transit through a UK airport if you will pass through border control. The website also states that “if you are coming to the UK for another reason, check if you need a visa instead. An ETA does not guarantee entry to the UK. You still need to either see a Border Force officer [or] use an ePassport gate.” You can apply for yourself or others online through the official gov.uk website or through the UK ETA app. Processing time can take up to 3 business days. Remember to take your time when filling out an application, verify what the going rate is for the ETA at the time of your purchase, and then triple-check just to make sure everything seems legit. Cool Kid Summer is HERE! Disney is introducing new entertainment offerings and a host of characters to celebrate the summer through September 1st. Animation Courtyard Hollywood Studios‘ Animation Courtyard has transformed into a character hub, and we’re excited to bring you along for an insider look. Animation Courtyard is FILLED with characters and fun. We saw characters like Goofy, Donald, and Clarabelle walking around and talking to guests. There was even an act called Jumpin Beans. Cast members came out and taught kids how to jump rope. It was so cute to see everyone playing together. Other acts, such as magicians and jugglers, can also be seen around the area at various times. Jumpin Beans We also loved that seating was added to the courtyard! There are numerous picnic tables, some located under the covered balcony, and smaller tables for children to use for coloring. Get Animated! Disney Junior Play and Dance! has turned into Get Animated. This space is typically a dance show for young children to see their favorite Disney Junior characters, and now Disney is taking that one step further. Inside Disney Characters walk around and dance with kids! We saw Fancy Nancy and Timon, and with the live DJ, it felt like everyone was having a blast. The day is finally here! Two new shows are officially open in Hollywood Studios. Hollywood Studios We’ve been talking about them for months, and now that we’ve seen both for ourselves, we can’t wait for everyone to sit down in the theaters and enjoy the entertainment that Disney World has to offer. Disney Villains: Unfairly Ever After and The Little Mermaid — A Musical Adventure are officially open! You can find Unfairly Ever After where Lightning McQueen’s Racing Academy was. The whole theater has been transformed for Disney’s most evil characters ,with a Magic Mirror and picture frames filling the stage. Disney Villains Cruella de Vil, Captain Hook, and Maleficent will guide you through their stories, where you decide who has been treated most unfairly, and depending on who the audience picks, you’ll have a different show ending. Captain Hook Shows run from 10 AM to 7 PM, with 15 shows throughout the day, so there is plenty of time to watch what could be your new favorite. Cruella Over in Animation Courtyard, The Little Mermaid is a new retelling of the original Voyage of the Little Mermaid show that was previously in the same theater. With new projections and screens, the story of Ariel is back on stage as she floats around and sings classic songs. Little Mermaid Theater Guests will be transported through the major scenes of the movie with incredible puppets and see Ariel float right across the stage. She doesn’t touch the ground as a mermaid! The show runs from 9:15 AM to 7:15 PM and is offered as a Lightning Lane selection. Hi Ariel! Madame Tussauds Orlando has introduced a wax figure of Angela Bassett to its lineup at the Icon Park attraction. The actress came face-to-face with her likeness there. Her new figure wears a black and gold jumpsuit, selected by Bassett star and inspired by the red-carpet look — a FARM Rio “Sunny Mood” V-neck sequined number — she sported for the Los Angeles premiere of “The Book of Clarence” in 2023. “They got it right, it’s just beautiful,” said Bassett, who grew up in St. Petersburg. “To have a career that has brought me two wax figures at Madame Tussauds is kind of humbling.” Bassett praised the figure overall, but got down to details in a video released by Madame Tussauds. “I love her lips. I love the lip color. They got that right,” she said. “I love the eyes. I remember when we were choosing the eyes. I have very dark eyeballs but they got that right.” Bassett met with the Tussauds creative team, including sculptors, colorists, hair experts and stylists, who took approximately 200 measurements and reference photos to re-create her likeness. This is her second figure for the company. The first one stands at Madame Tussauds Hollywood in California. “Angela was hands-on throughout the process, from selecting the perfect look to reviewing early details of the figure,” said Madame Tussauds Orlando General Manager Paul Gould. “That level of involvement always makes the figure even more lifelike and personal and we can’t wait for guests.” After meeting herself, Bassett mingled in the attraction, interacting with figures for Morgan Freeman, Johnny Depp and Lady Gaga, her co-star on “American Horror Story.” Bassett’s screen credits include “Black Panther,” “What’s Love Got to Do With It,” “Malcolm X,” “Waiting to Exhale,” “American Horror Story” and “9-1-1,” which ABC recently renewed for a ninth season. A word of warning if you’re visiting Disney World on a holiday weekend! The longest lines you could wait in may not necessarily be inside one of its parks. Disney Springs Disney World has several measures in place to help you not wait in long lines as often as possible, like Lightning Lane Premier Pass and Multi Pass. But if you find yourself visiting this particular area of Disney World today, you might wish you had a Lightning Lane to help you get through its lines FASTER! Waiting in line at Disney World is fairly unavoidable on any given day, even with Disney’s paid services to help you through your day. Well…at least inside the parks. But, sometimes lines at Disney World show up where you least expect them, and Memorial Day has certainly been no exception! Parking spaces While taking a trip out to Disney Springs, one of our reporters ran into an unexpected problem. As she was pulling into the Lime Garage at Disney Springs, she noticed that several of this garage’s floors were already FULL for the day. Here’s the problem though, it was still only midday! Lime Garage parking So by the time she got into the line to park inside the garage, it was already too late to escape. This is an unexpected problem you could run into if you’re not arriving early for a day at Disney Springs. With summer quickly approaching, schools beginning their summer breaks, and more people traveling to Orlando, this popular shopping and dining district could see a surge in attendance soon that could last for weeks. Security line Honestly though, our best tips we can offer as a solution to this parking problem (aside from arriving early) is to be flexible. By switching up where you typically planned to park, you could find yourself at a different parking garage that’s less crowded. This was our experience when we checked out the Orange Garage side instead. Orange Garage parking sign So while you might need to switch up your original plans, you’ll also want to make sure you’ve packed your patience while you wait your turn and examine the rows for a parking spot. There are nearly countless places to eat all around Disney World property, but not all of them are totally worth your time. Canada Pavilion This is especially true over in EPCOT, as it’s home to eleven different countries featuring dining options with cuisines from around the world, and a lot of times, it can be hard to decide where you’d like to try. If you’re looking for something quick and you’re craving some French fries, you may be inclined to head towards Refreshment Port, but is it really worth it? We found out! Over at Refreshment Port in the Canada Pavilion, you’ll almost always find a special option for the EPCOT Festival going on, but if you’re in between festivals, no need to worry. You can also find Traditional Poutine here for $7.50. This is made with French Fries, Beef Gravy, and Cheese Curds. Traditional Poutine This is definitely strong on the savory side, especially since it’s smothered in gravy, and we thought there was a good amount of salt on the fries here too — not too much, not too little. The cheese curds on top were soft and chewy, exactly what you want from poutine. Overall, it’s a classic Canadian snack done well that you can’t really go wrong with! Yum! There are a few different drink options here as well. Some of them come and go with the festivals, so you’ll want to grab them while you can, like the Raspberry Lemon Hard Cider from Lexington, KY for $12. Raspberry Lemon Hard Cider The flavor here was good, and it wasn’t overly strong, so if you’re looking for a cider with strong flavor, this one likely will be a miss for you. While it didn’t blow us away, the raspberry and lemon were balanced against each other well, and we were really impressed with the portion size for the price! It’s not very strong! It’s not often we’re let down by this spot, so if you find yourself in the park and are looking for some classic Canadian eats, we say it’s worth a stop (ESPECIALLY if there’s a festival going on)! Disneyland Resort is home to TONS of special treats right now thanks to Disneyland’s 70th Anniversary Celebration, and we’re loving it! Disneyland Entrance and Train Station A lot of the snacks are inside Disneyland and Disney California Adventure, but not ALL of them! We just headed over to Downtown Disney and got to try some of the special snacks and drinks you can grab at Parkside for the celebration, and trust us when we say you won’t want to miss them! Parkside Market is located in Downtown Disney, and it’s a great place to head if you’re looking for some lighter eats and great drinks! Parkside For Disneyland’s 70th Anniversary, there are multiple new options you can grab, and we’re starting with the drinks! The Joy and Inspiration is flamingo pick, refreshing fruity, and doesn’t have a strong alcohol taste, which we enjoyed. Joy and Inspiration You can also grab the 70th Monorail Mocktail! This is very fun with the printed 70th logo, and is sweet but flavorful — a great choice for those who don’t like to drink/aren’t able to drink. 70th Monorail Mocktail There’s also a whole secret menu you can order drinks off of, too! In order to get this secret menu, you’ll need to say, “I’d like to wake up the glee club.” Secret Menu! The Michael and Pierre drinks are ADORABLE, and we personally preferred the Michael (green) — the peach and lime were stand out flavors and it was very easy to drink. The Pierre (white), on the other hand, was pretty strong and was very rum heavy, which we weren’t big fans. Unfortunately, these cups aren’t for sale, so you won’t be able to take them home with you! Michael and Pierre! Two other drinks available on the secret menu are the FiFi… FiFi …and the Fritz’s Thunder! Fritz’s Thunder As for the eats, these are priced between $8-$10 — when we visited, official menus weren’t ready just yet! First up for us was the Chips & Guacamole, and this was a MASSIVE portion of guacamole that was very good, smooth, and had great flavor. The house made chips are fantastic, and the puffy ones are almost stuffable — you can take a bite then fill with guacamole. Chips and Guacamole The Fried Pickles & Spicy Aioli are thinly sliced salty goodness. The batter is light which makes them more like chips. If you are a pickle fan, we say try them! The aioli was also nice — not too spicy, but we think the pickles stand really well on their own too. Fried Pickles & Spicy Aioli The Buffalo Chicken Dip was our favorite! It’s served warm with the house made chips, it’s not too spicy, and is savory with lots of flavor. Not to mention it’s a great portion, especially for the price! Buffalo Chicken Dip Finally, we had the Waffle Fries. These were probably our least favorite item. They’re nothing too special, but are fine to share. However, if you add the buffalo dip to them, you’ve got a real winner, so that’s a snack hack to keep in mind!
