When you’re heading to Disney World, it can feel overwhelming to try and figure out what you need to pack. Magic Kingdom Sure, you know you need to pack the usuals — clothing, your MagicBands and ears, anything you need to get a good night’s sleep, but beyond that, there are essentials you need in the parks you may not realize until you get there. If you’re heading to Disney World soon, this is the ONE essential you absolutely need for each park AND WHY! That wears out your phone battery quickly, so we say a portable charger is most important in this park, and we absolutely love this one — multiple of our reporters use it day in and day out with no issues. EPCOT — Clean Those Hands! ©Amazon EPCOT is known for its fantastic eats, both in and out of festival season, and that means you’re going to want to make sure your hands are as clean as they can be before you eat all those snacks. Yes, running to a bathroom and actually washing your hands is ideal, but sometimes there’s no time for that, so the Touchland Power Mist Hydrating Hand Sanitizer Spray is the next best thing. We love the design, the smell of these, and that the aloe vera in them helps to moisturize your skin as well! Grab it here! Disney’s Hollywood Studios — Keep Yourself COOL! Although there are shaded places in the park, some of the lines for the most popular attractions are RIGHT out in the sun, OR they’re outdoors for the majority of the queue, and when it’s hot out, you need a way to keep cool. Disney’s Animal Kingdom — You Wanna Talk About Sun? Supergoop! Considering a large part of Animal Kingdom is made to recreate a savanna, which are normally VERY HOT and without much shade, we’re saying that Sunscreen is the number one essential for this park. This park often feels the hottest to many people, and there’s not as much shade as we would like (but thankfully, the majority of attraction lines are at least under shaded cover), so we’re begging you to make sure you’re wearing your sunscreen and REAPPLYING to avoid being burnt! Are you a Disney World Annual Passholder? Disney World Annual Pass If so, you probably already know a lot about how you can use your pass to enter Disney World theme parks, as well as how to get discounts on everything from food to souvenirs. You probably also know you can use your pass for exclusive merchandise and fun freebies. Well, now, your Annual Pass can also get you exclusive access to a lounge — with free snacks and drinks — in EPCOT. In case you missed it, V.I.Passholder Days have arrived in Disney World and run through July 31st. During this time, you’ll be able to get even MORE discounts on food and shopping, as well as take advantage of a ton of new perks, including an exclusive lounge in EPCOT. Well, that lounge is now open! You’ll find it at the Restaurant Marrakesh location in EPCOT’s Morocco Pavilion. EPCOT Annual Passholder Lounge Inside is a nice comfy place to sit and relax away from the EPCOT crowds — WITH air conditioning. That alone is worth it, right? Nice comfy place However, you can also grab some free snacks here while you’re at it. PhotoPass spot The lounge will be open from 11 AM to 7 PM through July 13th, so be sure to take advantage of it while it’s open. There is plenty of seating available, and the A/C is WONDERFUL. We just went to EPCOT for a little treat for Disney Annual Passholders! EPCOT If you’ve been keeping up to date with us, you probably know that May 14th was the drop date for the NEW Passholder magnet. Well, check your calendars, Disney fans, because the time has finally come! We had to rush over to EPCOT to guarantee we got this thing, and the more we look at it, the more obsessed we’re becoming! When we got to EPCOT, we could see the sign posted up by the Creations Shop indicating where the Passholder magnet would be. It’s the sign!! There was a line, as expected, but it moved pretty quickly! Check out the line Everyone was pretty excited for this magnet, and why wouldn’t they be!? It’s not often a Disney villain is the face of an Annual Passholder magnet, let alone a fan-favorite villain and arguably the most iconic Disney villain EVER! Everyone is going to want this magnet! If you plan on going to pick up the magnet, you’ll want to head over to the Creations Shop! That’s where all the Passholder magnet distribution happens at EPCOT. Before you hop in line, be prepared to show your Annual Pass card, linked MagicBand, MagicBand+, or Disney MagicMobile pass, and a government-issued photo ID. Also, you must be present to pick up your own magnet. Here she is! And, here she is! This one has to be up there as one of our favorite Annual Passholder magnets to date. Disney has honestly been on a roll with their magnets — choosing great designs, colors, and fan-favorite characters! The “D” of the magnet is in Maleficent’s iconic green color. She has a menacing smirk on her face — who knows what she’s plotting next? Look at this magnet! She really does have that classic style to her, looking exactly like her animated self from Disney’s classic movie Sleeping Beauty. The magnet should be around for a little bit, however, these are available while supplies last. So, we wouldn’t wait too long to go pick this up at the park. Disney World is bringing on twice the amount of fun this month because two new shows are opening on the same day, and we couldn’t be more excited for Hollywood Studios to have even more entertainment offerings. Hollywood Studios We’ve been waiting and waiting to walk into the theater and be transported into a whole new world with our favorite characters, and now it’s almost time! The Little Mermaid—A Musical Adventure and Disney Villains: Unfairly Ever After will open in Hollywood Studios on May 27th. ©Disney Unfairly Ever After is located on Sunset Boulevard, where Lightning McQueen’s Racing Academy used to be. The theater has been transformed into the “realm of the Magic Mirror—where dozens of villains are trapped.” The show will include new songs from Cruella de Vil, Captain Hook, and Maleficent, and the audience will help decide who has been treated most unfairly. ©Disney A Little Mermaid show might sound familiar to you, and that’s because Voyage of the Little Mermaid, which started in 1992, was in the same theater in Animation Courtyard. It never reopened after the 2020 closures but has instead been reimagined as The Little Mermaid — A Musical Adventure. The upcoming revamped Little Mermaid show The Little Mermaid show will run from 9:15 AM to 7:15 PM, and Unfairly Ever After will have showtimes from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM. Things are changing at Hollywood Studios, and there are some new procedures to keep in mind during your next visit. Disney’s Hollywood Studios The park formerly known as Disney/MGM Studios is about to enter a period of massive transformation, as the former Muppets Courtyard — including Muppet*Vision 3D and PizzeRizzo — is set to close forever in mid-June to make way for a Monsters, Inc. land. However, the Muppets won’t be gone for long, as the characters are moving across the park to take over the Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster from Aerosmith. All of these changes are creating a new set of unofficial rules to follow at the park. DON'T DO IT ALONE! Mama Melrose’s Ristorante Italiano With the stalwart Italian restaurant’s closure, Hollywood Studios’ roster of table service restaurants is down to 50’s Prime Time Cafe, Hollywood & Vine, Hollywood Brown Derby, Roundup Rodeo BBQ, and Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater. It’s important to keep that in mind when planning ahead. 50s Prime Time Cafe Catch Aerosmith’s Final Encore If you want to bid farewell to Aerosmith before the Muppets evict the “Bad Boys of Boston” from their ride, we’d suggest prioritizing the Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster, maybe even with a Lightning Lane. We’re already seeing wait times increase for the ride as it nears its closure. Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster As of writing, a closing date for Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster has not been announced. Construction Bottleneck These new procedures extend to crowd flow issues caused by construction. Once the former Muppet Courtyard closes to transform into Monster’s, Inc. Land, that will likely lead to bottlenecking in the Grand Avenue area near the Rise of the Resistance entrance to Galaxy’s Edge. Perhaps it would be best to use the Toy Story Land entrance to Galaxy’s Edge instead. The entrance to Galaxy’s Edge Go Under the Sea! Not all these new procedures are construction-related, though! May 27th will see the addition of not one, but TWO new shows to Hollywood Studios. First up is The Little Mermaid – A Musical Adventure, a new take on the park’s classic Little Mermaid show. That show will run from 9:15 AM through 7:15 PM each day, and also feature Lightning Lane access. ©Disney Unfairly Ever After, a Disney Villains-themed show featuring “spellbinding show with moving music and a most memorable finale—where you help decide who has been treated most unfairly,” will also premiere on the 27th. ©Disney There are some big changes going on at Hollywood Studios right now, and in turn, some new rules to keep in mind. We’ve got HUGE Disney breakfast news to share! Trader Sam’s Enchanted Tiki Bar While Disney’s been very busy preparing to celebrate its 70th anniversary in Disneyland with several merchandise collections, over 70 new eats and sips, the return of a popular parade, AND a brand-new cavalcade with a few rare Disney characters, it’s easy to see why you may have missed another announcement that was shared. If you happened to overlook Disney’s quieter announcement about a NEW dining time opening for a popular restaurant, it’s ok…that’s what you have us for! It’s clear to see that Disneyland is giving you over 100 great reasons to head over for their 70th anniversary celebration soon and we’re happy to hear that the celebration will be on going for a while, too! But, just in case you’re looking to take a break from all of the excitement and are searching for one of the best Disneyland restaurants to try on your upcoming visit, there’s a new option we might suggest. Time to celebrate 70 years! When looking over the LOOOOONG list of new foods, sips, drinks, and treats coming to Disneyland for the 70th anniversary, we happened to notice a few that really piqued our interest. While it’s no secret that we’re BIG fans of Trader Sam’s Enchanted Tiki Bar, we happened to run across a few particular new offerings that set off our Spidey-senses! Trader Sam’s! While browsing the new offerings, we noticed new dishes like Ube-stuffed French Toast, Korean-style Breakfast Sandwich, Open-Face Lomi Salmon Sandwich, and Tropical Pancakes available for breakfast only. Wait, did that really just say BREAKFAST?! ©Disney Actually, YES! Trader Sam’s Enchanted Tiki Bar announced that they will be opening for a brand new breakfast offering beginning May 16th from 8 to 11 AM. There’s even a sign posted outside the restaurant letting visitors know. Indoor seating will be open for this new dining time, and the outdoor patio will still continue to open at 11:30 AM in time for lunch. The Walt Disney Company is helping to bring a seventh theme park to life in Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates. The park will operate in collaboration with Miral, “Abu Dhabi’s leading creator of immersive destinations and experiences.” ©Disney While the new theme park, currently referred to as Disneyland Abu Dhabi, will be fully developed and built by Miral, Disney Imagineers will lead creative design and operational oversight. Disney has a similar partnership with Oriental Land Co., which owns and operates Tokyo Disney Resort. Since the first announcement, Disney’s decision has been met with sharp criticism and logistical questions about how the theme park will operate on Yas Island. Now, new details confirm what Miral has planned for the landmark theme park. Disneyland Abu Dhabi will be located on Yas Island, a spot known for entertainment and tourism. There are a few other theme parks on Yas Island, including SeaWorld Yas Island, Warner Bros. World Yas Island, and Ferrari World Yas Island (all developed by Miral as well). The theme park is intended to connect travelers from the Middle East and Africa, India, Asia, Europe, and more. ©Disney According to Disney, the theme park “will combine Disney’s iconic stories, characters and attractions with Abu Dhabi’s vibrant culture, stunning shorelines, and breathtaking architecture.” Further, Disney hopes to help build a park that is “authentically Disney and distinctly Emirati,” echoing the phrase used in 2016 when Disney announced Shanghai Disney Resort. ©Disney In a new interview with Dubai Eye 103.8, Miral Group CEO Mohamed Abdalla Al Zaabi, DBA commented on his plans for the new park. While Al Zaabi did not go into detail about the specific lands, characters, or attractions planned for Disneyland Abu Dhabi, he did reveal that the park will be the “most innovative” and “most advanced” theme park yet. ©Disney The park will be located near the water on Yas Island. Josh D’Amaro, Chairman, Disney Experiences, said, “Our resort in Abu Dhabi will be the most advanced and interactive destination in our portfolio. The location of our park is incredibly unique – anchored by a beautiful waterfront – which will allow us to tell our stories in completely new ways. This project will reach guests in a whole new part of the world, welcoming more families to experience Disney than ever before. Ultimately, it will be a celebration of what’s possible when creativity and progress come together.” ©Disney Additionally, Al Zaabi noted that the park will be indoors. Miral’s CEO explained that he wants the arrival process at Disneyland Abu Dhabi to be “as convenient as we can” so that guests can easily arrive and enjoy as many rides as possible. There is no opening date or timeline for this park yet. When it opens, Disney confirmed the new theme park will offer: Signature Disney entertainment Themed accommodations Unique dining and retail experiences Storytelling in a way that celebrates both the heritage of Disney and the futuristic and cultural essence of Abu Dhabi ©Disney If the park is 100% indoors, as Al Zaabi alluded, this would be a first for Disney. While all Disney theme parks incorporate a large portion of indoor experiences, every existing theme park features outdoor attractions. Disney has already asserted that Disneyland Abu Dhabi will be quite large in scale. In an interview with CNBC, Disney CEO Bob Iger said, “And I will also say this is far more ambitious than anything that’s been built here. And that will be reflected not just in the size and in the quality, but in the sheer scale and in the — I think, diversity and I guess the array of experiences that will be offered. I am a big fan of the Disney Cruise Line! Disney Wish at Castaway Cay There are several new ships being added to the fleet and updates coming to one of the current ships, so there’s been a lot of change when sailing lately. That’s why I’m sharing the 5 things I wish you knew before heading on board the Disney Cruise Line! When it comes to going on a Disney Cruise, there are SO many things you might not know, whether this is your first trip or your 100th. That’s why I’m sharing the things I think you absolutely need to know before hopping on board, starting off with the Disney Cruise Line Navigator App! ©Disney Cruise Line Navigator app The main thing to know is you need that the Navigator app needs to be downloaded before you ever step foot on the boat! This app is home to everything you’ll need on your cruise. You can check in with it, book reservations and excursions, you’ll find show times and character sightings, and so much more. ©Disney Cruise Line It also shows you your rotational dining schedule, what your table number is, guest relations chat, and even a way to communicate with members of your party. Having the app ready to go before you set sail sets you up for success when it comes to booking extras on board and being prepared so you can fully enjoy the vacation without being lost. ©Apple Store Another thing you need to know before heading on your cruise is that you won’t know your rotational dining schedule until you’re on board. On every Disney Cruise, you’ll experience rotational dining. It means each night you’ll have dinner at a different restaurant on board. Rapunzel’s Royal Table On longer cruises, you might dine at a restaurant twice, but the menu will be different. There are two different dinner times when it comes to rotational dining — the early seating and the late seating. You won’t know what your schedule is before hopping on board, which can impact the plans you make. Animator’s Palate on the Disney Fantasy In addition to rotational dining, there are adult-only dining options on board that you can book for an additional fee. We love this for an upgrade on our cruises, but it does often mean missing out on some of the rotational dining options during dinner. Enchanté on the Disney Treasure In the past, we’ve missed out on rotational dining options we were looking forward to because we mistakenly booked our adult-only dining options on those nights, because we didn’t have the rotational dining schedule. If the schedule really impacts you, you can always talk with guest relations once you’re on board to switch times. Plaza de Coco We’ve had to request a change on several of our cruises, and the Disney team has always accommodated us if they are able. Another thing to know before you even hop on board is that the check-in process can either make your life easier or harder! Checking in at the Cruise The check-in process begins 30 days before your cruise and once you’ve paid for your trip in full. During this process, you’ll provide citizenship documents, register your kids for the youth clubs, and select your port of arrival time. During the process, you’ll have to fill out 6 different pages of information. (Don’t worry, it’s really not that long!) Guest Information Onboard Account Traveling with Children Travel Plans Port Arrival Time Cruise Contract Disney Wish boarding process Being thorough during this process can make your life so much easier. Grabbing the earliest port time is also a great way to kick your vacation off as early as possible! It can make life lovely and easy before you hop on board. Our team has also had experiences where the check-in process made life a bit more difficult. The view from the cruise ship! During part of your check-in process, you will need to submit a photo for Disney to approve that will be used by Cast Members throughout your trip (specifically when getting on and off the ship). This is where things can get tedious because Disney has rejected our submitted photos on a few occasions. Disney Magic Atrium There are a few stipulations for your photo, and Disney is strict about approval, so I highly recommend doing your check-in process as early as possible so you don’t have to stress about approval close to your cruise or even when you’re trying to hop on board. The Disney Magic Another thing you need to know is that the boats are designed for you to not do everything! There are tons of characters, entertainment, activities, and more when you’re on board a Disney cruise. We’ve been on our fair share of them, and it truly takes a team to do everything on the ships during one vacation. Minnie Mouse on Formal Night For example, lots of characters will have meet and greet times that overlap, so it’s not always possible to say hi to them all. That might sound crazy, but Disney does this on purpose! It’s a great way to help crowd flow and to ensure that one section of the ship doesn’t get too crowded at once. Donald and Goofy This is also why there are two dining shows and two main entertainment options per night. The boats couldn’t hold every single person on board in the restaurants or Walt Disney Theater at once, so it makes sense to have multiple options at once. If you feel like it’s impossible to do it all, it’s because it might be, depending on how long your cruise is. Set Sail with Disney Pals! Finally, I want you to know that Disney Cruise Lines trips aren’t just for kids, but there are a lot of them on board! There are several adult-only spots like Palo, Enchante, Cove Pool, Cove Cafe, and more. Cove Cafe! I’m a major fan of these spots, but if you think you’re going to entirely avoid kids during your cruise, that’s a bit delusional. (I’m sorry, I’m just being honest!) While many people love vacationing with their families and friends, some peeps are looking for adult-only vacations, and I completely understand that. Palo is adult only dining! Kids are so much fun and bring so much joy to many people, but I won’t pretend they’re always relaxed or quiet (which is sometimes needed). Although Disney does provide adult-only spaces, during many of the dining options, entertainment offerings, and more, you’re going to run into kiddos! The sail away party! If you’re looking for a totally kid-free environment, the Disney Cruise Line isn’t going to be for you! There are so many changes coming to the cruise line, like updates to the Fantasy and the additions to the fleet, but one thing that won’t change is that these are kid-friendly spaces. ©Disney So now that you know these 5 things, I think you’re ready to set sail! For years now, one of the best places for younger kiddos in Hollywood Studios has been Animation Courtyard. Animation Courtyard This is where they’ll find the Disney Junior Play and Dance!, as well as meet and greets with some of their favorite Disney Junior pals like Fancy Nancy, Doc McStuffins, Pluto, and more. However, big changes are coming this summer for Disney’s Cool Kid Summer event, and we know that the Disney Junior Play and Dance! party would become temporarily unavailable, but now there’s another update — those popular meet and greets have MOVED. When we checked the My Disney Experience app, we noticed that the meet and greets for Doc McStuffins, Fancy Nancy, and Vampirina have now MOVED — no longer are they in Animation Courtyard, they’re now meeting in Echo Lake. They’ve moved! What’s especially interesting about this is that these original meet and greet locations have decorations that are specially for these characters and their shows, so Disney’s choice to move these is a curious decision. We love these backdrops! We headed over to meet Fancy Nancy, who was as bright and bubbly as ever, but it was a little strange not seeing her normal backdrop behind her! Hi Fancy Nancy! Now, this could be temporary due to the Cool Kid Summer event, as the Get Animated show will take its place beginning May 27th, but right now, this is just a TEMPORARY change for the summer. However, it is important to note that back in March, Disney unexpectedly closed The Disney Junior Dance Party in Disneyland in March. Disney Junior Play and Dance (don’t be fooled by the sign!) Does the moving of these characters and the summer replacement of the show (not to mention The Little Mermaid — A Musical Adventure moving into the area in a few short weeks) mean that another larger change could be on the way? We have no way of telling right now, but we’ll keep an eye on things and let you know. Attendance and revenue were down for the first quarter at United Parks & Resorts theme parks, but company executives remain optimistic for a record-setting 2025 at SeaWorld Orlando and its sister attractions. United’s theme parks reported 3.4 million guests in the quarter, a decrease of 1.7% from a year earlier, and revenue was $286.9 million, a drop of 3.5%. This was attributed partly to the calendar years having Easter, a notable travel period, in the second quarter of 2025 but in the first quarter of 2024. United CEO Marc Swanson said attendance for April, part of the company’s fiscal second quarter, was up 8.1% compared with April 2024. “We are also encouraged by the 2025 bookings for our Discovery Cove property, our 2025 group bookings and our 2025 international ticket sales, all of which are running ahead of 2024,” Swanson said. New and upcoming attractions at United Parks include Wild Oasis, a new realm at Busch Gardens Tampa Bay; the Big Bad Wolf: The Wolf’s Revenge inverted roller coaster at Busch Gardens Williamsburg; the 45th birthday celebration for Sesame Place in Philadelphia; and Rescue Jr., a kid-driven area at SeaWorld San Antonio. SeaWorld Orlando opened Expedition Odyssey, a wide-screen attraction tied to Arctic scenes and animals, earlier this month. United Parks & Resorts, based in Orlando. operates 13 attractions in the United States and Abu Dhabi. In an conference call with market analysts this week, Swanson mentioned the company’s land holdings. “We own over 2,000 acres in valuable real estate in desirable locations, including approximately 400 acres of undeveloped land adjacent to our parks, including significant development land in Orlando,” he said. “We continue to have discussions with various potential partners as we explore ways to unlock the value of this very valuable real estate.” There are several options for the land, he said, listing off the possibilities of hotels, housing, rides and/or attractions. “We just want to make sure that we get into the best structure that is best for our shareholders and best for the company,” Swanson said. The second quarter will include the grand opening of Universal Orlando’s Epic Universe theme a few miles away from SeaWorld Orlando as well as the expectation of continued travel and trade uncertainty. Epic debuts May 22. “We believe having Epic in town is going to bring more people to Orlando. … And we like the idea of a compelling and good assets coming to the area,” Swanson said. “So we need to take advantage of that. We view that as an opportunity, and something we’ve been working on for some time to do that, obviously. And we have our own strategies.” Swanson said 90% of park visitors live in the U.S., mostly folks who are within driving distance of the attraction. United doesn’t emphasize international attendance, he said. “As that market perhaps softens like a lot of people have been saying, you know — not ideal. … But I don’t think it has as big of an impact for us,” Swanson said. They’ve just announced the purchase of their third ship, right on the third anniversary of the company’s inception! Margaritaville at Sea has just announced the purchase of their third ship, the Costa Fortuna, which is currently operated by Costa Cruises. The company focuses on fun, laid-back getaways filled with escapism, and the company recently won Cruise Critic’s #1 Cruisers Choice Award and Newsweek 2025 Best Ship for Families, among several other awards. ©Margaritaville at Sea This new ship will the largest in the fleet at 102,500 gross tons and accommodating approximately 3,450 passengers. Disneyland’s 70th Anniversary celebrations are beginning, and while we’re so thrilled to experience every single part of it, there’s one in particular we’ve been really looking forward to. “it’s a small world” in Disneyland Originally, “it’s a small world” in the park was set to reopen on April 25th with these new changes, but it was pushed back to today, May 9th, but now it’s finally here — some of our favorite Coco characters are now part of the attraction! We’re heading into the park later today to ride the famous attraction for the first time in months! Before we head over to the parks, Disney gave us a sneak peek at the newest character on the ride. “it’s a small world” in Disneyland Miguel and Dante from Pixar’s Coco have now been added to the attraction in the Mexico section! How cute are they?! We can already hear the song “Remember Me” playing now. Ignore us if we shed a few tears. ©Disney The adorable Pixar character and his alebrije are the latest addition to this famous ride! Disneyland started adding Disney and Pixar characters to the attraction back in 2009 (to lots of controversy among fans). “it’s a small world” This adorable new addition is now available to fans as part of the Disneyland 70th Anniversary celebrations. The idea of wearing your favorite costume and running into Magic Kingdom to collect all the candy your heart desires is so tempting, but before you buy that Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, read this! Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party Every year, we go to the Halloween party so we can learn the best tips and tricks and bring them back to you. Here is everything you should know before buying that ticket. This year, the parties run on select nights from August 15th to October 31st. Here are six bits of knowledge you should learn before heading to Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. 1. Your Party Ticket Gets You into Magic Kingdom Starting at 4 PM It’s Maleficent! Why is this a big deal? Because the party doesn’t start till 7 PM. That means you can enjoy three extra hours of normal theme park time before the specialty snacks, rare characters, and entertainment start. Grab a snack! You can hop on a few rides, eat dinner at a table service restaurant (which we highly recommend since you’ll get A LOT of candy), and truly whatever your heart desires. This is also a great time to take pictures in your costume before it gets too dark. 2. You Need to Be Smart About What Costume You Wear The Headless Horeseman We know, we know. You really want to wear that incredible costume you’ve spent months on, meet the coolest characters in it, take epic photos, and everything will be magical! Yes, all of that can still happen, but Magic Kingdom is still in Florida, and Florida doesn’t know what fall is. Orlando in August Even in October (and especially in August when the party starts), Orlando is hot and humid, and costumes with wigs and thick jackets might be too hot. You can always take pictures in your costume and then switch to a short-sleeved version after. For those shoes? We know those boots are perfect for your costume, but you’ll still be walking around a theme park for hours, so maybe stick to the sneakers. 3. Weather Happens and it Can Affect Your Party Rain at a Halloween Party With the heat comes the rain, and August to October is right in the middle of hurricane season. If there’s rain at your party, it’s very likely that the party will continue! There might be changes to entertainment like the parade and fireworks, but if Disney can put on the party safely, they will. Boo To YOU! If it’s raining too much for you, but Disney still throws the party, even if the outdoor shows are cancelled, it can be very difficult to get a refund. When the parties are cancelled, like some were for a hurricane last year, you might be given a full refund or a ticket to come back another day. It depends on what Disney decides to do and how they want to manage it. 4. You Can Still Ride Attractions During the Party Mad Tea Party During the party, a lot of attractions are open, like TRON, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, and Jungle Cruise, so you can get a few extra rides at your favorite attraction. While the parties are limited to a certain number of tickets, be aware that for the popular rides, there still might be a long line that could cause you to miss the parade you’ve been wanting to see. Special Monsters, Inc. Laugh Floor Some rides even get a little Halloween twist, like Space Mountain, where all the lights are turned off, Mad Tea Party with special lighting effects, and Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor, which showcases Halloween jokes. 5. Some Rides and Restaurants Won’t Be Open During the Party Treat stop While rides are open, it won’t be every ride. Some rides will close when the party starts, and the same goes for restaurants. Some restaurants and snack carts will have special treats for the parties, but some restaurants like Columbia Harbour House are turned into treat locations, so instead of dining, you’ll grab your candy and head out. If there’s a restaurant or ride you want to do, make it a priority by going right when you enter at 4 PM. Poison Apple Churros Sometimes there’s an odd hour between when the park is closed for normal guests but the party hasn’t started yet, and you might especially struggle to find food during this time when the restaurants are changing menus and foods. We highly recommend eating beforehand so you aren’t stuck for an hour with food! 6. Character Lines are Known to Close Early It’s Halloween! You can meet some of the coolest characters at the Halloween party! Jack and Sally, in their new looks, and Mickey and the gang, in their Halloween costumes, will be at the parties this year, but did you know that their lines close early? It’s unlikely you’ll be able to enter the line to meet Mickey at midnight, and because of the popularity of Jack and Sally, they usually close the line early to make sure they can get through the entire queue of people. Jack and Sally If you want to meet characters, make sure you head there earlier in the party, and be aware that those lines can get long!
