  2. Did you know your Disney Cruise catches on fire all the time? Yes, you read that right. Disney Wish If you’ve ever heard an announcement that a fire in happening onboard, it’s actually something that happens all the time that the crew members are used to! We know the idea of your ship floating in the middle of the ocean catching on fire is not a relaxing thought and that might cause some anxiety and panic but this is a common occurrence that happens on all cruise ships. Disney Destiny Most fires happen in the incinerator room, which, the more you think about it, makes total sense! Many cruise ships put items like dry trash in the incinerator onboard to limit waste on board, and yes, they know all about the environmental impacts and comply with the Marine Pollution Prevention, MARPOL. Studies have shown that Disney Cruise Line is one of the most environmentally responsible cruise lines! Onboard the Disney Dream Because items are being thrown in the incinerator, pieces are known to catch fire. Since this is a common occurrence, the crew members know all about it, and it’s likely that by the time you hear about it, it’s already put out. That doesn’t mean it’s a bad idea to listen to more announcements and be aware of crew member protocols. Disney Cruise Line Now that you know that there might be a possible fire on your cruise (which is totally going to be your kid’s favorite fun fact), you can go back to relaxing and taking a dip in the pool. Disney Treasure Disney Cruise Line is working on bringing a lot of new ships to sea! Later this year, the Disney Destiny, the heroes and villains themed cruise will sail out of Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Disney Treasure The Disney Adventure will also be debuting in Singapore at the end of the year, and if you want to obsess over every detail of a cruise, we highly recommend reading all about this ship. You’ll be amazed by the new shows, a beautiful Imagination Garden, and new attractions onboard the decks. If you’re going on a Disney Cruise soon, make sure you keep following Disney Food Blog for all the details you need to know for your trip. 3 THINGS I WISH I KNEW BEFORE LEAVING A DISNEY CRUISE Are you going on a Disney Cruise soon? 4. Disneyland is “The Happiest Place on Earth”…for most people. Disneyland For some, the Disneyland experience can turn ugly if they let it. While the Resort offers plenty of world-class attractions, delicious eats, exciting entertainment, and a ridiculous amount of nostalgia, it’s likely you’ll run into adversity a few times during your visit. Long lines, unforeseen closures and cancellations, and bad behavior from other guests can put a damper on the positive vibes real fast. We’ve been visiting the Disneyland Resort for decades, and over the years, we’ve kinda seen everything when it comes to guest behavior. From understandable agitation to literal anarchic chaos, there are tons of Disneyland horror stories that make for great lessons. Line Cutting One of the most common forms of “bad behavior” we experience on many of our visits to Disneyland comes in the form of line-cutting. Haunted Mansion in Disneyland! We’re not talking small children wandering just a bit too far and all of a sudden the toddler behind you is in front of you. Kids will be kids and getting a little excited is not indicative of bad behavior. Instead, we’re referencing adults that either lose focus of their place in line or intentionally try to move up and hope they can do it without confrontation. Long souvenir line! On more than one occasion, we’ve noticed adults breathing down our necks. Then all of a sudden,n they’re standing next to you. Then you blink and somehow they’re in front of you in line. We understand that this can happen unintentionally, as it’s easy to get lost in your own world when you’re standing in a long line. All we ask is that you respect others’ personal space as well as the general queue rules. Folks Touching Things They Aren’t Supposed To The Disney Parks have become more and more interactive over the years. And no, this doesn’t apply to things like the “Do Not Pull Rope!” sign in the Indiana Jones Adventure queue (you should ABSOLUTELY pull that rope for a hilarious easter egg). Instead, we’re referencing the times when kids and adults alike have crossed barriers to grab something or stuck their hands out of ride vehicles. Indiana Jones Adventure ride in Disneyland We’ve seen kids and adults jump over ropes to take pictures next to props or put their hands where they don’t belong, like in the Pirates of the Caribbean water or on set pieces in the Fantasyland dark rides. We’ve even seen people get BANNED from Disneyland for doing such things. Pirates of the Caribbean Auction Scene ©Disney We want to use these stories as a reminder that Disneyland has “no touching” rules for safety reasons (there is dangerous tech below the waters on Pirates of the Caribbean, for example), so you should absolutely follow all the rules for the smoothest and most pleasant experience possible. And don’t worry! There are plenty of interactive opportunities all over the Disneyland Resort if you feel the need to get hands-on! PDA Taken Too Far Visiting Disneyland can be very romantic when you do it with a partner. In fact, we recommend having a date night there at least once! With that in mind, there is such a thing as too much PDA…and we’re not talking about kisses and holding hands. Disneyland’s Haunted Mansion We’ve seen some folks (mostly teens) get a little too comfortable on dark rides, thinking that no one is watching them. Remember, someone is always watching you: Disney Cast Members, on-ride cameras, other guests, and your conscience, Jiminy Cricket, are always watching. So if you think you’re going to get away with some hanky panky, forget about it. Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride Most importantly, the Disneyland Resort is a public space that caters to CHILDREN. Taking PDA too far here is SUPER ILLEGAL and will get you in a lot more trouble than just a Disney ban… People Getting Naked At Disneyland If we had a quarter for every time someone broke the internet by getting naked and disrupting life at Disneyland over the last few years, we’d have two quarters. Which isn’t a lot, but it’s wild that it’s happened TWICE. “it’s a small world” in Disneyland In 2023, a 26-year-old man was arrested after stripping down and wandering through “it’s a small world”. Something similar happened in April 2025 when a 38-year-old man was arrested after also exposing himself in New Orleans Square and climbing Tiana’s Palace. Tiana’s Palace in Disneyland These incidents are reminders that the Disneyland walls don’t always keep out all of the real problems people face every day. Physical and Verbal Altercations We’re not going to sugarcoat it…sometimes visiting the Disney Parks can be stressful. Long lines, heavy foot traffic, tired and agitated children, and other inconveniences are inevitable, so it’s understandable that people get frustrated and may lash out. Disneyland can get busy What’s not okay is allowing your frustration to manifest into abuse. We’ve seen guests get into altercations with Cast Members and each other. And while folks out here may have that “California, laid-back, tie-dyed” reputation, it’s not uncommon to see people get testy when the straw finally breaks the camel’s back. Main Street, U.S.A. in Disneyland It’s important to remove yourself from toxic situations, take a second to collect yourself, enjoy what you can, and willingly let things go that ultimately don’t matter. Remember, you’re visiting Disneyland for a good time, not for a fight. Another important note is that when conflict arises with Disney Cast Members, treating them with respect and understanding will ALWAYS yield better results. 6. Ready to watch your favorite sports live on your phone? We are too! ©CNBC Disney just released pricing for the new ESPN streaming service for their new app launching this fall. The new ESPN platform will cost $29.99 per month, according to CNBC. ©ESPN This platform is different from ESPN+ because it will have live games, programming for other ESPN cable networks like ESPN2 and ESPN on ABC, and will even include all the games for Monday Night Football. ESPN+ will still remain available for $11.99 per month. ©Disney If you bundle ESPN, Disney+, and Hulu, with ads, it will cost $35.99 per month. For those signing up for the first time this fall, you can bundle all three together for $29.99, which means Hulu and Disney+ are free with ESPN. ©Disney If you pay for ESPN on TV, you will automatically be able to authenticate into the new app and get all the benefits that are only available through the app and not on TV. ESPN Wide World of Sports According to Disney, the goal of this app is to make ESPN available “however and wherever the consumer wants it.” They’ve mentioned the high level of customization and personalization that will be available in the app. Disney hasn’t released an exact date but has said it will come out in fall 2025. 7. Disney’s newest live-action movie is almost here! Stitch! The live-action Lilo and Stitch is headed to theaters on May 23rd, 2025, and we are pretty excited! While we’re looking forward to the new movie, not everyone is, and it’s already received a share of criticism online. The movie’s director has now personally responded to some of the online chatter. Both Pleakley and another character, Jumba, are aliens who are searching for Stitch after her crash-lands on Earth in the movie. Throughout the film and TV show, these characters both use a mix of human clothes, wigs, and more to disguise themselves from the human world. ©Disney Disney has released new images of the film, seemingly in response to the online discussion. It’s given us a clearer look at the two aliens before they take on their human disguises in the film. From @ScottGustin on Twitter Although there has been a negative online conversation surrounding this change, there has also been a more positive response than previous live-action films. According to Deadline, this was Disney’s second-most-watched live-action trailer with 158 million views in the first 24 hours. ©Disney Deadline also shared that the movie “also posted the best first-day ticket presales for a PG title year to date, tracking to make $120 million over the four-day Memorial Day holiday weekend.” While the controversy still remains, this does indicate that the movie could be a commercial success, unlike previous live-action remakes. ©Disney We are eager to see the film when it releases on May 23rd, 2025. 8. If you’re anything like us, you probably have about five water bottles already—but somehow, there’s always room for one more. Owala Water Bottle Staying hydrated at Disney World is no joke, and the Florida heat doesn’t mess around. So when we saw that Owala just dropped a new Marvel-themed collection on Amazon, we knew we had to share. DISCLOSURE: This post may contain affiliate links, meaning when you click the links and make a purchase, we receive a commission. 24 oz Marvel FreeSip Insulated Stainless Steel Water Bottle – Captain America ©Amazon This 24-ounce insulated bottle features the star-spangled Avenger himself, and it’s giving major super-soldier energy. Like all of Owala’s FreeSip bottles, it’s got their patented spout that lets you sip through a built-in straw or tilt it back for a quick swig. And with a locking push-button lid, your water stays clean and spill-free while you’re racing from rope drop to fireworks. Plus, the double-wall stainless steel keeps your drinks cold for up to 24 hours. It fits in a cup holder, it’s easy to clean, and it even has a carry loop that doubles as a lid lock. Basically, it’s made for long park days. View on Amazon 24 oz Marvel FreeSip Insulated Stainless Steel Water Bottle – Spiderman ©Amazon Swinging through the parks? You’re going to need hydration backup, and this Spiderman-themed FreeSip bottle is ready for action. It’s got all the same features—24 ounces of cold-holding power, the dual-sip spout, and that leak-resistant lid that opens with the push of a button. We love the bold Spidey design on this one. It’s playful without being too flashy, and the colors really pop. Also, if you’re a Spiderman fan, it’s an easy yes. View on Amazon 24 oz Marvel FreeSip Insulated Stainless Steel Water Bottle – Hulk ©Amazon Okay, this one’s for those of you who mean serious hydration business. The Hulk FreeSip bottle comes in a deep green color with a strong, clean design. Like the others, it’s 24 ounces of double-walled stainless steel and BPA-free materials. Don’t worry—it may be Hulk-themed, but it won’t smash your stuff. The bottle has a secure push-button lid, a carry loop that locks it shut, and a wide-mouth opening that makes adding ice a breeze. 9. If you’re an impulse shopper, then you need to AVOID EPCOT. EPCOT With a variety of different gift shops spread throughout the pavilions and several themed stores in the World Showcase, there are quite literally hundreds of souvenirs to discover in this park. And if you’re not careful, you might find yourself regretting your purchases! Starting out at House of Good Fortune in the China Pavilion, we’ve got to mention the dog kimonos that were sold here several years ago. Yes, they were seriously adorable and we all wanted to buy them for our pets…but for what purpose?! When would your dog actually wear this? This was definitely one of those impulse buys for people that landed in the box of forgotten souvenirs. Dog Kimono Over in the Japan Pavilion, Mitsukoshi Department Store is home to a wide variety of bizarre and quirky souvenirs, but the one we definitely didn’t need? Character onesies. But they’re not Disney characters — they’re themed to various Japanese characters like Pokemon. These are those types of souvenirs that are so silly that you almost want to buy them just to say you did. But when would you wear this? Seriously, it looks like it would roast you alive while you’re sleeping. Trust us — save that apparel budget for a Disney tee instead. Pokémon Onesie Costume Inside Mission Space Cargo Bay, you’ll find a mix of Star Wars and NASA-themed merchandise, including freeze-dried astronaut food. This is definitely one of those items that catch the attention of kids, and you might find yourself giving in to buy it. But we suggest you skip the freeze-dried ice cream in EPCOT — this IS the park known for its delicious snacks, after all. Instead, just order some astronaut eats from Amazon after your trip. Astronaut Ice Cream! Both in Creations Shop and Treasures of Xandar, you can find the iconic Marvel infinity gauntlets. These are super cool souvenirs, and you can even collect all the infinity stones to go in them, but there’s a big problem — they’re HUGE. These things are seriously bulky, and they get quite cumbersome to carry around or to try and fit in your suitcase to go home. Nobody wants to wear a plastic glove all day in a theme park. Infinity Gauntlets In various places around EPCOT, we’ve spotted this Spaceship Earth cookie jar. If you’re a die-hard EPCOT fan, this is sincerely tempting to take home. But like the gauntlet, it’s a pretty bulky souvenir that can be difficult to lug around or fit in your suitcase. And even when you get home, how often will you actually have it filled with cookies? Be honest. Spaceship Earth Cookie Jar One thing that EPCOT has in spades? Figment merchandise. He gets his own festival collections AND his own gift shop. It can be super tempting to buy a bunch of Figment paraphernalia, but the problem is — it only works in EPCOT. That’s the only park the character has a presence in, and out in the real world, people who aren’t Disney fans have no idea who he is. If that doesn’t bother you at all though, go ahead! ImageWorks gift shop And last but not least, you’re probably going to regret dropping a cool $79K on that crystal model of Spaceship Earth. You can find this unique souvenir inside Kunstarbeit in Kristal in the Germany Pavilion. It may seem like a fun idea at the time, but when you buy a souvenir that costs more than most cars, your bank account is probably going to scream at you. A WHOPPING price tag Want to know what you SHOULD buy during your EPCOT trip? We love fun snacks from the World Showcase Pavilions, items themed to your favorite characters, or classics like Disney tees and Minnie ears. All of those items are available throughout the park. We love Disney merchandise! And if you can’t decide if you really want to buy something — walk away. If you still want it later, you can return. And if it’s still there, it’s meant to be! When to Book Dining Each night of your Disney Cruise, you’ll be assigned one of the three rotational dining options that are included in your cruise package. If you’d like to one of the ship’s other restaurants like Palo, you’ll need to make a reservation. However, make sure you make said reservation for a “repeat” rotational dining night (you’ll have at least one if you’re on a Disney Cruise of at least 4 nights) so that way you won’t miss any of the rotational dining experiences. Palo Steakhouse on Disney Treasure Bad News for Late Souvenir Shoppers A heads up if you’re a late shopper who was planning to pick up some gifts – – or souvenirs for yourself – – on the final morning of you’re trip, you are out of luck. The ship’s stores will be CLOSED on the final morning. This is due to several factors, including maritime rules for ships in port, as well as the need to prep the ship for the next voyage. So, if you’ve put your shopping off until close to the end of the trip, make sure to do it the night before! Disney Wish merchandise Early Savings! Featuring vibrant, colorful graphic designs reminiscent of comic book drawings, the collection will include everything from apparel and accessories to plush, pins and drinkware. A new ticket sale dropped for flights to Orlando, and if you’re thinking about coming to Disney World before the end of the year, you might want to take advantage of this deal. Southwest is offering a Wanna Get Away Sale for one-way flights as low as $39! The sale is available for dates between June 3rd and November 19th, and you must book before May 22nd. ©Southwest Airlines What would we do if we were adding an extra Disney trip in before the end of November? We would definitely book tickets for Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, which will run on select dates from August 15th to October 31st. Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party There’s no way we would miss a chance to try all the food booths at EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival, running from August 28th to November 22nd. The EPCOT Food and Wine Festival We would plan a visit to all the parks to jump in Cool Kid Summer, which runs from May 27th to September 1st. Everyone in the family will love the themed dance parties, new character opportunities, and crafts. Pluto is going to be at Cool Kid Summer! If we went to Hollywood Studios, we would watch two new shows, Disney Villains: Unfairly Ever After and “The Little Mermaid — A Musical Adventure.” ©Disney And overall, we would enjoy the Florida sunshine and knowing that we saved a huge amount of money and got to go to Disney World. 17. Walt Disney World has set the dates for the 2025 edition of Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, the after-hours/extra-ticket special event at Magic Kingdom theme park. There will be 38 evenings of Not-So-Scary running between Aug. 15 and Halloween night, the resort has revealed. Tickets will be available to the public starting May 22, although guests staying at select Disney World resorts can may their purchases on May 15. Ticket prices vary with the day, and, so far, Disney has only revealed the range of $119 to $229. Generally, early tickets and weekday dates have been the least expensive. New elements of the event for 2025 include the transformation of Storybook Circus into a space for families with younger children, a dance party themed to “Zombies 4: Dawn of the Vampires” (which debuts July 10 on Disney Channel) and the chance to meet Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse together — decked out in their Halloween costumes — at Town Square Theater. Among the returning features: “Mickey’s Boo-to-You Halloween Parade” (stepping off at 8:15 p.m. again); the “Hocus Pocus Villain Spectacular” stage show near Cinderella Castle; “Disney’s Not So Spooky Spectacular;” and parkwide trick-or-treating. Disney also has hinted at the presence of “new and returning Disney villains,” holiday overlays for some attractions, new specialty foods, party-specific merchandise and the Cadaver Dans quartet. Halloween Horror Nights starts at Universal Studios on Aug. 29. SeaWorld Orlando’s Halloween Spooktacular launches Aug. 30 and its Howl-O-Scream event follows on Sept. 5. 19. One of the BEST places to dine is actually outside of the Disney World parks! Disney Springs Disney Springs is home to dozens of dining locations, from snack spots to fast food to table service meals. These locations have some pretty unique offerings, and recently, some fun menu items arrived at Paddlefish! So we’re taking you with us to try the new eats. Atmosphere Paddlefish is located inside a GIANT paddle boat in Disney Springs — seriously, you can’t miss it! Paddlefish! The boat has three levels with tons of seating, but not all rooms and areas are open throughout the day. A look inside Here’s a look at the first floor! Another look! The second floor is here. The second floor! And finally, the third floor! The third floor! You can even check out the outdoor, rooftop bar if you’re just looking for something quick! The rooftop! But enough about the scenery, what’s on the menu? Menu Paddlefish is primarily a seafood restaurant. It offers lunch and dinner menus with a wide variety of bites. An overall look at the menu! For both lunch and dinner, you can find starters, chilled and raw seafood, soups and salads, plus pasta and main entrees. Don’t forget about the steamer options as well! A closer look at lunch! We’re here specifically to try some new items! Eats First up, we grabbed the Crab Boursin Dip for $12. This one was interesting! This item has Blue crab, creamy Boursin cheese, green onions, and sesame crackers on the side. Crab Boursin Dip There was quite a bit of brininess from the crab, and the cheese is very strong. The onion brings out the pungent flavors of both the cheese and crab! The chips offered a strong flavor of their own and struggled to hold the creamy, heavy dip. While we didn’t hate it, we don’t necessarily think we would get this again. A dip! We also got the Burrata Panzanella! This was $20 and came with cherry tomatoes, kalamata olives, cucumbers, toasted bread, and basil. The Burrata First things first, our reporter’s exact words were “this is insane!” The burrata is creamy, light, smooth, and fresh all at once. The tomatoes add some amazing texture and brightness to the dish. The cucumber, while a bit watery, adds a crunch and freshness as well. Have a bite! The pesto on the bottom added a wonderful earthy flavor, with the toasted bread adding an amazing crunch with butter and garlic elements. Overall, it was a complex and tasty item that really surprised us. Finally, we grabbed the Lobster Corn Dogs for $24. The lobster corn dogs! These used to be on the menu here a few years back, and they’ve returned recently! They’re market price, so that’s subject to change. These are cornmeal breaded lobster skewers with a sweet chili aioli and a side of lemon. These reminded us of sweet corn dogs in a way. The lobster was tender with a bit of chew to it. A closer look at the lobster corn dog The flavors were nice and mild, with the breading adding a bit of sweetness. The aioli added a bit of spice, which we really enjoyed. While we really enjoyed them, it is helpful to remind anyone reading that these really are just fancy corn dogs. They were delicious and could be fun to share with a group. A look at the lobster meat inside Overall, these were more of a novelty than anything! Nosh or Not This Disney World restaurant is a must-visit if… You enjoy seafood You are looking for a fancier meal Or if you want to grab some tasty small plates You should skip this Disney World spot if… You are seafood averse You want to save money Or want true Disney themeing Overall These items were really interesting and different from other items we’ve had in Disney World! We’d happily grab these items again as sharables or even a smaller meal for one. All we know for sure if we’re suddenly craving lobster. The full spread! In the meantime, we’ll be on the lookout for more restaurant updates from Disney World and beyond. Make sure you stay tuned to the Disney Food Blog for the latest Disney news and more! 21. Every so often, Disney drops a piece of merchandise that’s so wonderfully weird, it stops us in our tracks. SO many mugs This time? Let’s just say it’s cute, collectible—and a little trashy (literally). Let’s check it out! Available soon at Walt Disney World, the new Bulk Candy Containers are delightfully miniature replicas of the iconic Main Street, U.S.A. trash bins you’ll find at Magic Kingdom! With swinging side lids and a flip-top opening, they’ve got all the charm of their full-sized cousins, just shrunk down and filled with sugar (how amazing is that?!). ©Disney But this isn’t just your average sweet souvenir—you get to make your own candy mix to fill them with! To purchase, you can head to the following locations: Parks: Magic Kingdom Park: Main Street Confectionery Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park: Zuri’s Sweets Shop Resorts: Disney’s BoardWalk Inn: Screen Door General Store The Campsites at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort: Meadow Trading Post Disney Springs: Goofy’s Candy Company Disney’s Candy Cauldron Main Street Confectionery To purchase a container, first grab a bag to fill with your choice of sweets, and be sure to hit the ½ lb. minimum to be eligible to purchase a candy container. Once you’ve checked out (and not before!), you can pour your treat haul into your new mini bin and head off with the most adorable trash-inspired souvenir Disney’s ever created (ever thought we’d say that sentence). There’s a limit of two containers per guest, and they’re available while supplies last, so don’t wait too long if you’re eyeing one (or two) for your collection. Lots of yummy candy to choose from! Not only is this a creative twist on your average candy container, it’s also a great collectible for Disney park fans. These bins are a nostalgic nod to Main Street’s charm, and they make for a surprisingly fun display piece long after the candy’s gone. ©Disney Between the charming Main Street U.S.A. design and the fun candy customization, these little bins are one of the most delightfully odd Disney souvenirs we’ve seen in a while. 22. Epic Universe is an all-new park with multiple new dining options, and since food is our specialty, we’re making it our mission to try EVERY single restaurant in this new park so you know where you should visit during your vacation. Epic Universe While there are great spots in the different portals around the park, don’t count out Celestial Park, the main hub “land” because there are some fantastic options here as well! Frosty Moon is an ice cream spot located here, but is it really worth the stop, or should you find your sweet treat elsewhere? We found out! Atmosphere This is a walk-up stand with very little seating around, so you’ll either want to take your ice cream a little bit away and sit down on one of the benches in Celestial Park (we recommend one with great views of Helios Grand and the fountains), and just keep in mind you won’t be able to bask in the AC while you eat. Frosty Moon The only shade is underneath the building’s awning, but there’s no place to sit down, so it’s hard to knock out two birds with one stone here. Menu The menus here are located inside the ordering window, and unfortunately, they’re so dark when the sun is high in the sky outside that it’s very difficult to read before you get up to the counter, which slows the process down as people decide. However, we’ve got the menu right here for you, so you can decide in advance! The flavors of soft serve available are: Vanilla Chocolate Cheesecake Strawberry Yum Cookie Butter Vegan Vanilla Frosty Moon As for toppings, you can get two of the following included in the price of your ice cream, which is $7.99 for a cup and $8.49 for a cone: Mini marshmallows Brownie pieces Streusel Cake pieces Oreo crumble Strawberry cheesecake pieces Celestial sprinkles Star sprinkles Birthday sprinkles Eats We decided to grab two different ice cream options on two different days. Our first time, we grabbed the strawberry yum soft serve with mini marshmallows and celestial sprinkles in a waffle cone. The mini marshmallows are the freeze dried kind that are in Lucky Charms cereal and this delighted us way more than we expected it to, especially because it added a different texture that worked well with the soft serve. Strawberry soft serve with marshmallows and sprinkles! The sprinkles were very pretty but didn’t add any additional flavor, but overall, we enjoyed it! The strawberry ice cream didn’t taste like natural strawberry, but it tasted like a GOOD artificial strawberry, and the consistency of the soft serve was great — almost like churned ice cream before it hardens in the freezer. We do think it’s a little pricey, but you get a good amount of ice cream and two toppings included for that price, so we were happy with our experience! We enjoyed it! Our second time around we grabbed a Cookie Butter Cone with Brownies and Gold Star Sprinkles. While we, again, thought the soft serve was decent quality, we weren’t a big fan of this flavor because it had a strange smokiness to it. So much so that it reminded us more of coffee ice cream rather than cookie butter, which wasn’t what we had been expecting. Cookie Butter soft serve with brownie pieces and sprinkles However, the brownie pieces were delicious — moist and soft — and the sprinkles added a great crunch to break up the soft serve texture. Were we wildly impressed? No, but we also weren’t insanely disappointed either. Nosh or Not This Epic Universe restaurant is a must-visit if… You’re really craving soft serve ice cream You need a sweet treat and you’re not super picky about it being something that will wow you You’re with pickier eaters/are a picky eater You should skip this Epic Universe spot if… You’re looking for a great treat that will blow your mind You’re not a fan of soft serve ice cream You don’t want to spend nearly $10 a person on a sweet treat that’s not shareable Overall Overall, we’d say this spot is fine, but nothing to write home about. It’s great if you’re craving some ice cream or you/your group wants something that’s a little more familiar rather than a more adventurous treat around the park, but if you’re hoping for $10 ice cream that will blow your mind, this isn’t it. In fact, we stand by the statement that Florean Fortescue’s in Universal Studios has better ice cream for sure. Would you try this spot? 23. Disney recently dropped a lot of news, including dates for the EPCOT Food & Wine Festival and tickets and dates for Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party, but we don’t think Disney meant to give us a huge clue as to when a new restaurant is opening in Disney World. Welcome to Adventureland We’ve been waiting patiently (okay, maybe not so patiently) for the new pirates-themed lounge, The Beak and Barrel, to have an opening date, and we think Disney finally told us. UPDATE: Shortly after publishing, Disney updated the website to remove the language about Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. We’ll keep an eye on a potential official opening date for the Beak and Barrel! Starting June 16th, 2025, all guests will be able to book a reservation at The Beak and Barrel during Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. The Halloween parties run on select nights from August 15th to October 31st, which makes us think the lounge will be open by August 15th. ©Disney Disney hasn’t listed an exact date, but we do know it will be open during the Halloween parties! ©Disney Guests staying at Disney Resorts will be able to book The Beak and Barrel starting June 12th, while everyone else has to wait until June 16th. While booking a table reservation during your Halloween party can be time-consuming, this will be perfect for those dressing up as pirates and who want a more relaxing experience. ©Disney We’re expecting that Disney will officially announce when the tavern will open, but right now, we’re predicting it will be open by August 15th. 25. Traveling can be tricky, but we’re here to provide some tips and clarity! Let’s go somewhere! Whether you’re flying to Disney World or anywhere else in the world, it’s important to be familiar with Transportation Security Administration (TSA) rules well before even going to the airport. You need to know what you can and cannot pack so that you can avoid any trouble when checking a bag and going through security. With that in mind, we’re keeping you up-to-date with a recent change to the TSA checked bag policy. Per reports, the TSA recently issued a ban on packing portable chargers with lithium-ion batteries in checked luggage. Baggage claim! You can still pack lithium-ion battery-based products in your carry-on, so they aren’t totally banned. In fact, some popular airlines have already practiced this policy for some time, so it’s definitely not unprecedented. Orlando Airport The reasoning behind this ban is that lithium-ion batteries can overheat easily, short-circuit, spark, and cause fires. According to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), the rule applies to “Power Banks, cell phone battery charging cases, rechargeable and non-rechargeable lithium batteries, cell phone batteries, laptop batteries, power banks, external batteries, [and] portable rechargers.” As far as potential cabin fires, “Flight crews are trained to recognize and respond to lithium battery fires in the cabin. Passengers should notify flight crew immediately if their lithium battery or device is overheating, expanding, smoking or burning.” ©Southwest Airlines The FAA explained that, “Spare (uninstalled) lithium ion and lithium metal batteries, including power banks and cell phone battery charging cases, must be carried in carry-on baggage only. When a carry-on bag is checked at the gate or at planeside, all spare lithium batteries and power banks must be removed from the bag and kept with the passenger in the aircraft cabin. The battery terminals must be protected from short circuit.” Size restrictions are as follows: Lithium metal (non-rechargeable) batteries are limited to 2 grams of lithium per battery. Lithium-ion (rechargeable) batteries are limited to a rating of 100 watt hours (Wh) per battery. Per the FAA, “With airline approval, passengers may also carry up to two spare larger lithium ion batteries (101–160 Wh) or Lithium metal batteries (2-8 grams). This size covers the larger after-market extended-life laptop computer batteries and some larger batteries used in professional audio/visual equipment.” Portable battery For more information on what you can and cannot pack in a checked bag, please visit the TSA and FAA official websites. 26. Who’s ready for the most spectacular, incredible, absolutely amazing summer at Disney World? We sure are! Hi Pluto! To kick off the summer, Disney World is changing up the parks to bring in new experiences, and we’re ready to tie on our dancing shoes and get down with Stitch on the dance floor. Disney is hosting Cool Kid Summer from May 27th to September 1st and will give kids fun ways to experience the park. Starting off, you should be on the lookout for new kid zones! These will be pop-up entertainment with games, music, dancing, and lots of fun for the little ones of the group. One will be Big Top Bash at Storybook Circus, where DJ Ringmaster hosts a summertime dance party! Pluto will be there ready to play kid-friendly midway-style games with even more activities inside Big Top Souvenirs. Storybook Circus Over at Tomorrowland, Galactic Blast will be at the Rocket Tower Plaza Stage with appearances from our favorite alien, Stitch! Dance it out with Stitch and then head into Merchant of Venus for indoor crafts inspired by the Pixar film Elio, which you can catch in theaters on June 20th. Stitch at Tomorrowland You’ll also be able to meet your favorite characters even earlier in the parks. If you’re staying at a Disney Resort and plan on going to the parks during Early Theme Park Entry, characters will be out meeting and greeting. Nothing gets us out of bed faster than knowing our favorite characters will be waiting for us at Disney World. Donald and Daisy! In Hollywood Studios, Animation Courtyard is bringing in the fun with magicians and jump rope performers. “Get animated with games and crafts, or conquer an imaginary obstacle course in interactive fun with characters.” Mickey and fan-favorite Disney Junior friends will attend the indoor DJ dance party, too. Disney Jr EPCOT is turning CommuniCore Hall into GoofyCore! A DJ will be playing fun tunes, and little ones can join in on games with a Goofy Twist. 27. It’s no secret that you can get some good cocktails in Disney World. Espresso martini from Enchanted Rose Lounge We’ve certainly got our favorites, too, from boozy Dole Whips to margaritas from La Cava del Tequila to Frozen Viking Coffee in Norway in EPCOT. We’ve also been known to drink around the World (hasn’t everyone?). But sometimes, you want to mix your liquor with something a little more caffeinated, and that’s where the delicious espresso martini comes in. So if you’re craving an espresso martini in Disney World, we’re going to tell you EVERYWHERE you can get one. Okay, so before we give you the FULL list of where you can grab an espresso martini in Disney World, we’ve got to shout out a few of the espresso martinis that go above and beyond. First, just look at this gorgeous espresso martini from Enchanted Rose at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. The ingredients are fairly basi (Stoli Vanilla Vodka, Espresso, and Bols Crème de Cacao Liqueur), but the presentation is INCREDIBLE. It’s got a Mickey on it. Espresso Martini at Enchanted Rose We also have to share the espresso martini at Wailulu Bar and Grill at Island Tower at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort. This martini is made with Mr. Black Cold Brew Liqueur and Joffrey’s Coffee Espresso, but it’s also got SelvaRey Chocolate Rum in it to give it a nice chocolatey flavor. YUM. We haven’t tried this one yet, but it’s on our list. Wailulu Bar & Grill! Trattoria al Forno at Disney’s BoardWalk Inn also has a unique concoction called the Menta Espresso Martini made with Fernet Branca Menta Liqueur, Antica Sweet Vermouth, and Espresso. Vermouth isn’t something you see often in espresso martinis, but it sounds like a good combination! Trattoria al Forno Another unique espresso martini can be found at The BOATHOUSE at Disney Springs. It’s made with 360 Madagascar Vanilla Vodka, Kahlua, Liquor 43, Espresso — yep, Kahlua in an espresso martini — it’s GENIUS. Finally, Barcelona Lounge at Disney’s Coronado Springs has an espresso martini worth mentioning. This one has tequila in it, and it’s made with Flecha Azul Reposado Tequila, Tia Maria Liqueur, and Joffrey’s Cold Brew Coffee. Barcelona Lounge Okay, let’s get to that full list now. Here’s everywhere you can order an espresso martini in Disney World: Several Joffrey’s locations Tutto Italia in EPCOT– Vanilla vodka, coffee liqueur, Italian espresso Enchanted Rose at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa – Stoli Vanilla Vodka, Espresso, and Bols Crème de Cacao Liqueur Toledo at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort – Stoli Vanil Vodka, Bols Crème de Cacao White Liqueur, Simple Syrup, Espresso Dahlia Lounge at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort – Stoli Vanil Vodka, Bols Crème de Cacao White Liqueur, Simple Syrup, and Espresso Barcelona Lounge – Flecha Azul Reposado Tequila, Tia Maria Liqueur, Joffrey’s Cold Brew Coffee Cheers! 28. If you love grabbing a drink in Disney World at some of the most exclusive spots, then you’re likely a frequent visitor of Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto — we know we are! Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto Not to be confused with Trader Sam’s Enchanted Tiki Bar, which is located over in Disneyland (and we love it just as much!), which can sometimes be difficult as one location may get a new item, but the other doesn’t. For those of you over in Disney World, you’ll be thrilled to know a new Tiki Mug has just arrived! This will cost you $32 and comes with a Zombie cocktail inside of it upon purchase, which is made with Gosling’s 151 Black Seal Rum, Appleton Estate Reserve Rum, Bacardi 8-year Rum, Tropical Juices, Falernum, and Cinnamon. Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto We have a feeling this will be quite popular, so if you’re in the area, you’ll likely want to get over there sooner rather than later to grab it before supplies run out.
