  4. Disney World has so many places where you can get sweet treats and beverages. Some are great options, and others are not so much. That’s what we’re here for! Riviera Resort We recently went to Disney’s Riviera Resort to try a popular spot for quickly grabbing pastries and coffee. Whether you’re looking for something to eat before you start your Disney, need a relaxing break, or want a treat before going up to your room, this spot is a good option. Disney’s Riviera Resort is a beautiful hotel — it’s one of Disney’s newest ones they have to offer. When you enter the lobby, you’ll find Le Petit Café. Like we mentioned before, it’s pretty convenient for grabbing something fast before you start your Disney day. There’s also a work area connected to the cafe for anyone wanting a drink while working at the resort! Le Petit at Disney’s Riviera Resort It’s one of those spots where it makes more sense to go if you’re either staying at the resort or resort hopping. It’s never really that busy, and they have some great options to choose from. Enough about the vibe, though, let’s talk about what we recently ordered from there! Le Petit Café counter First off, we tried the Orange Cream Éclair for $7.49. Is it just us, or does it seem like Disney has been making a lot of stuff orange creamsicle flavor, and bright orangey colors? Maybe it’s because we’re getting closer to summer, who knows? It is a softer orange éclair with an outer crackle to it. The outside also has a whipped vanilla bean icing, with a couple of jelly orange peel pieces sitting on top. As well as a white chocolate piece, with the Riviera name printed on it. Orange Cream Éclair On the inside is where most of its flavor lies. It has a thicker vanilla cream flavor on the inside. There was also some orange filling on the inside, and it almost coated the inner cream in a way. The orange filling was oozier than the cream; it was kind of like mousse. There’s a chance that could’ve been the case because we were in the hot sun. Look at the inside! All in all, there’s a lot of orange flavor going on with this thing! There are the orange peels, the orange crust, and the orange cream. Don’t get us wrong, it’s a good snack. We haven’t even talked about the fact that it’s a pretty thin pastry for $7.49! So we don’t really think it’s worth the price, to be completely honest. Orange Éclair at the Riviera Secondly, we tried the Wine Poached Pear Entremet, which was also $7.49. This thing looked pretty, so it naturally drew our attention for how nicely it’s made. There are a lot of layers to it, and we liked the sponge cake that was at the bottom! It’s got this breakfast coffee cake crumble layer to it as well, which gives the treat a really nice light crunch. This is going to sound crazy, but imagine dipping a chip into ice cream (that’s the best analogy we got). However, the weirdest part was that there was no flavor to it!? Wine Poached Pear Entremet This pastry also has that vanilla bean icing on the top! The pear has that gelatinous consistency to it, but there are fresh-cut pears on the treat. They were good, but that was all the flavor was. It’s one of those treats where if you are looking for something that doesn’t have a range of flavors, and isn’t super sweet, then this would work for you! We enjoyed this one more than the orange cream éclair, to be honest. It had a better taste to it, and we enjoyed the pear on top. It was actually worth the $7.49 with the portion you got. Look how pretty this one looks! For both of these, we don’t NEED to get them again. If we were at the Riviera, we’d probably buy the Wine Poached Pear Entremet — but we definitely aren’t going out of our way for either of these. Even if you go to the cafe, you’ll find that other treats are more eye-catching and pretty! Especially cause they had some other desserts featuring chocolate. Le Petit Cafe We love trying out food and letting you know what we think, so stay tuned to the Disney Food Blog for more food reviews! Need Disney Restaurant Advice? 5. Volcano Bay, Universal Orlando’s water park, will abandon its wearable technology called TapuTapu later this year, the company announced Tuesday. The complimentary wristband devices, used since the park debuted in 2017, have been used to hold reservations — and alert when to get in the physical line — for Krakatau Aqua Coaster, one of the centerpiece rides of Volcano Bay, and to open rental lockers. The attraction will no longer use TapuTapu as of October 1, according to a Universal Orlando news release. The change will “allow guests to access attractions queues at their leisure,” the release says. Universal also announced a multi-month closure for Volcano Bay that will start Oct. 26, 2026. It said the down time will be used to conduct annual maintenance on several unnamed attractions and areas within the park. The planned reopening is set for on or before March 24, 2027. “We are working with guests who have purchased tickets to visit Volcano Bay during this timeframe as well as Universal annual and seasonal passholders affected by this update,” the release said. Earlier this year, Universal introduced a separately ticketed, after-hours event called Volcano Bay Nights. Three dates in May remain for the offering, which costs $99 per person. 6. Who’s ready to visit EPCOT’s most problematic (and only!) tiny village? Welcome back! The tiny train town in the Germany Pavilion is one of my favorite places to visit because there are so many quirky stories to uncover among the residents there. In fact, I visit and report on their shenanigans so often that I’ve been dubbed the mayor of the itty bitty city. And during Madam Mayor’s most recent visit, I found some interesting tidbits. Starting off things strong at the wedding chapel, there is TEA. This wedding has been missing its bride for ages, and the poor jilted groom has been all alone. Well, thankfully, the lovely lady in the blue dress has come to comfort her good friend…and I think we’re going to see a best friends to lovers situation blooming here in the future! (By the way, his name is Tom and her name is Madison — start shipping it now!) Can you tell that I spend a lot of my time on BookTok? The wedding chapel! It’s not often that I visit the outskirts of the tiny town, but this week I stopped by to check on some of the residents who live near the woods. They’re out there doing the Lord’s work, defending our people from the critters who live in the forest. Ya know, like the WEREWOLVES?! Anyone remember that recurring werewolf attack the town had last year? We’re past that now, thanks to lovely people like Bill and his wife Jan. What’s happening back here? In more criminal news this week, I had to bust up a group of moonshiners who were doing some underground smuggling. These guys had stationed their shack near the rail line and were trying to sneak their unauthorized product aboard the trains. C’mon, folks, we’ve got to go through the proper channels, here! Tiny train town shenanigans And last but not least, some elderly men from the town would like to start a chess club. The sad thing is, they don’t have any chessboards! They’ve managed to build a table for playing the game, but as of right now, they’ve just been sitting and gabbing about the weather. If someone has a tiny chessboard they’d like to donate, contact Richard at the retirement center. A meeting of the minds Thanks for coming along with us to Tiny Train Town! And if you’re heading to EPCOT soon, check out our video below that covers the park’s must-dos. Stay tuned to DFB for more updates from Disney World! We’ll keep you in the loop. 7. A strong case could be made that Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind is currently the most popular ride at Walt Disney World. The coaster has dominated the resort’s average wait times nearly every week since it transitioned from a virtual queue to a traditional standby line earlier this year. Behind the scenes, the ride is one of the resort’s most advanced. Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind The attraction, which first opened in May of 2022, is based on the popular spacefaring Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) franchise. Rumors of the Guardians characters coming to Walt Disney World began almost immediately after the first film was released, partially because the first film was a monstrous hit, and partially because the characters are some of the only Marvel properties not barred from appearing at Walt Disney World due to Marvel’s preexisting licensing deal with Universal. These rumors only strengthened with the opening of Guardians of the Galaxy: Mission Breakout at Disney’s California Adventure in May of 2017. Later that year, Cosmic Rewind was announced as coming to EPCOT, and replacing Ellen’s Energy Adventure, which was a light retheme of the opening day EPCOT attraction Universe of Energy. The ride also features a new character, Centurion Tal Marik, portrayed by Terry Crews. Bradley Cooper and Vin Diesel – – the voices of Rocket and Groot respectively – – did not return for the attraction. Of course, we can’t talk about Cosmic Rewind without touching on the music. Like the Guardians films, the ride uses popular rock and pop songs from the 1970s and 1980s, each set to match the motion profile of the ride vehicles. Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind The songs are randomly selected by computer for each ride. The songs currently available on the attraction are: “Disco Inferno” by the Trammps “I Ran (So Far Away)” by A Flock of Seagulls “Conga” by Miami Sound Machine “Everybody Wants to Rule the World” by Tears for Fears “One Way or Another” by Blondie “September” by Earth, Wind and Fire Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind is one of Disney World’s most technologically popular attractions, and boasts an impressive bit of technology behind the scenes. 8. Universal Orlando has expanded its previews for Epic Universe theme park to the general public. Tickets are now for sale for dates through May 19. Previously, the official peeks at the attractions have been limited primarily to Universal employees, their invited guests, Universal Orlando hotel guests and the resort’s annual passholders ahead of Epic’s grand opening on May 22. Epic continues to put “the final touches in place and rehearsing, so some attractions and experiences may not be available,” Universal’s website advises. There are a limited — although unspecified — number of preview tickets available. Preview date prices vary with the date, ranging from $144 to $154 per day. Universal also is selling multiday tickets that include a visit to Epic. For tickets or more information, go to universalorlando.com. Epic Universe includes themed lands named Super Nintendo World, How to Train Your Dragon — Isle of Berk, Wizarding World of Harry Potter — Ministry of Magic, Dark Universe (featuring classic monsters) and Celestial Park, a star-driven introductory land with restaurants, retail and a few rides. The theme park has 11 rides, including four roller coasters, and two stage shows in its lineup. The grand opening of Epic Universe will mark the first debut of a major theme park in Orlando since Universal’s Islands of Adventure arrived in 1999 and Disney’s Animal Kingdom opened in 1998. 9. Summer is a relatively popular time to visit Disney World since most kids are out of school, and that’s when families often choose to take their vacations. Stormalong Bay The beginning of May is usually pretty hit or miss since many schools don’t get out until the middle of the month, but sometimes college students get out earlier and those crowds descend upon the parks pretty much the moment the calendar flips to May. However, if you’re heading to Disney World this week, we KNOW it’s about to be more crowded, but not for the reason you’re expecting! From May 1st through May 4th a massive championship will be taking place at the ESPN Wide World of Sports complex. This means that Disney’s value hotels will be especially crowded and the parks themselves will potentially be a madhouse. Competitions often bring long lines for check-in The Summit Championship is a big cheer competition that happens each year and was founded by Varsity All Star in 2013. Competitors from all over the world are invited to participate and compete, and marks the end of the cheerleading season — being many teams’ last championship of a season sometimes makes it more popular than others! ©The Summit Championship According to their website, this event is “a unique experience for athletes in the non-Worlds divisions to compete against the best of the best in all levels of competition across the globe.” This means that you’ll want to expect for the parks to be extra crowded with large groups this upcoming week, and hotels may be more noisy due to those same groups. Watch out for those crowds! We’ll be sure to keep you updated on all the latest events happening in Disney World so you can plan your trip accordingly! 11. We’ve got 2 MAJOR updates from Universal to share with you that could affect your upcoming trip! ©Universal Universal has been a big topic of conversation lately, primarily surrounded by the chatter that Epic Universe’s previews have caused. But, if you’ve been planning your next Universal Orlando visit and hoping to visit every park Universal has to offer, there’s an upcoming change that might have you thinking twice before you commit to spending a day in particular park. Universal has just unveiled several operational announcements that will affect their water park, Volcano Bay, soon. ©Universal Orlando (Volcano Bay) Arguably, one of the biggest draws to visiting Universal’s Volcano Bay water park is the ability to scan in for virtual queues over its rides and slides. This is accomplished by using the park’s TapuTapu system, which is offered free with admission to the park. ©Universal When you arrive, you’ll be assigned a band just as you’re scanning into the park for the day, which allows you to scan for a virtual wait time to ride an attraction around the park, and will notify you by screen when it’s your turn to get in line. ©Universal This has been a popular system that visitors have raved about over the years, but it doesn’t just work for virtual queue lines for the rides. The TapuTapu band also allowed for other uses, too, like contactless payment and interactive experiences. ©Universal Beginning October 1st, the TapuTapu wearable and virtual line will no longer be available for visitors. Although the virtual queue for the rides and attractions will no longer be available, Universal is quick to point out that this change allows visitors the ease of accessing lines for attraction queues at their leisure. ©Universal While this change certainly can be a divisive one, depending on how much you may have been counting on this service provided in the park, it seems that time will tell what we can expect from the lines once the virtual queue system is no longer in place at Volcano Bay. That’s not the only major update we have for you for this park, though. Additionally, Universal also confirmed Volcano Bay will begin a seasonal closure beginning on October 26th, 2026, with a current planned reopening on or before March 24th, 2027. During this closure, Universal plans to conduct annual maintenance on several attractions and areas of the park. ©Universal While this closure is still a ways out, that doesn’t mean that it isn’t important to know about in advance, while you’re in the beginning stages of planning what your next Universal vacation will look like. If Volcano Bay was on your list to visit during this closure, you may want to consider spending more time in Universal’s other three parks, Universal Studios, Islands of Adventure, and Epic Universe, or planning a day to do some sightseeing around your hotel. 13. We’re warning you about an upcoming Disney World refurbishment that could throw a wrench in your 2026 vacation plans. Disney’s Pop Century Resort The Disney World hotels are no strangers to long closures due to repairs, refurbishments, and improvements. That trend is continuing in 2026, as one brief refurbishment project will affect 4 different hotels in January 2026. According to the Disney World website, the Disney Skyliner will be CLOSED for refurbishment between January 25th and January 31st, 2026. Disney World’s Skyliner The Skyliner connects 4 hotels — Disney’s Art of Animation Resort, Disney’s Pop Century Resort, Disney’s Riviera Resort, and Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort — to both EPCOT and Disney’s Hollywood Studios. While these four hotels will be primarily affected by the closures, it’s also worth noting that Disney’s Yacht Club Resort, Disney’s Beach Club Resort, and Disney’s BoardWalk Inn are all within walking distance of the Skyliner station at EPCOT’s International Gateway. Skyliner Station at Disney’s Pop Century and Art of Animation Resorts While the Skyliner won’t be operational those days, Disney did note that complimentary bus service will still be available. Still, a major draw of the Skyliner hotels is quick and easy access to this gondola system, so if you plan to visit at Disney World in late January, you’ll want to take this refurbishment into consideration when selecting which hotel you’re staying at. Skyliner Along with the Skyliner, Disney offers more complimentary transportation with its monorail system, ferry boats, and buses. 14. Disney just announced the menu for their new Spaceship Earth adults-only lounge opening up SOON! ©Disney It’s called GEO-82, and we’re so looking forward to experiencing it for the first time. While we were looking through the photos and names of everything on the menu, we noticed something special in the photos — there’s themed ICE in at least ONE of the drinks! There are tons of different cocktails, wine, beer, and zero-proof options on the GEO-82 menu, and Disney released promotional photos of many of them. But if you look extra close at the photo of the Brown Butter Old Fashioned (made with Woodford Reserve Double Oaked Kentucky Straight Bourbon, brown butter, maple, and Hella Cocktail Co. Mexican Chocolate Bitters), check out the ice! ©Disney You can clearly see there’s ice in the drink, but we thought something looked a little different with it. Thanks to Disney’s OTHER promo image of the drink, we figured out what it is — the ice cube has Spaceship Earth artwork ON IT! ©Disney Based on this photo, we know that we should expect to see a Spaceship Earth ice cube in the Brown Butter Old Fashioned, but it’s also possible we could see them in other drinks as well! Disney hasn’t confirmed this at all, but if the ice will be something readily available, it’s certainly a possibility we could see them in other drinks. ©Disney We do know there will be specialty glasses, seen above, available for purchase for those who have reservations, so that’s another thing to keep your eye on. Disney World Annual Pass These magnets are so popular that they can get incredibly long lines on release days. We’ve even seen Disney run out of particularly cool designs in the past. And if the newest Passholder magnet hint is what we think it is…another really popular design is on its way! Magnet pickup at EPCOT Walt Disney World Annual Passholders shared a hint for the new Annual Passholder magnet on Instagram, and it’s a video that’s definitely giving us Sleeping Beauty vibes. But with the eerie feel about it, we’re wondering — could this new magnet be Maleficent-themed? ©Disney The video clip shows a storybook with a short poem, and it ends with talking about hope “slipping.” Interesting, right? ©Disney We’ll be on the lookout for any more news about this magnet. 17. Deciding what to pack in your Disney park bag can be just as difficult as deciding which ride you want to go on first. Cinderella Castle How much is too much? How much is too little? Are you REALLY going to need that? What if you need THIS but you don’t have it? It’s a tough call, but it’s one I make time after time as a Disney blog editor who travels to Disney World often. So, without further ado, here’s every essential I pack in my bag to travel to the parks! DISCLOSURE: This post may contain affiliate links, meaning when you click the links and make a purchase, we receive a commission. I’m lucky enough to live just a couple of hours or so away from Disney World, which means I travel there at least once per month — and usually more. But, hey, it is my job, after all! Since I live relatively close, I typically only take day trips, and I also like packing light — which means I need to be smart about what I’m bringing with me! Check out some of my essential faves below. I love this Sun Bum Facial Sunscreen Mist ©Amazon I’m a fair-skinned Florida native, which means I’m serious about my sunscreen (at least now that I’m in my thirties). This Sun Bum Facial Mist has been a game-changer for me in the parks. I love tossing the travel-size bottle in my park bag for reapplying on my face and neck, arms, and wherever I need a touch-up of sunscreen. It’s a lighter mist than what you’d expect from an aerosol spray and smells like bananas! View on Amazon This Shiseido Sunscreen Stick is also a fave ©Amazon This Shiseido Sunscreen Stick is another one of my favorites. It’s a clear stick with another light scent that doesn’t smell like sunscreen. It glides right onto my skin — or over my makeup — and doesn’t feel greasy or sticky at all. Plus, you don’t have to worry about it leaking in your bag. View on Amazon A UV-blocking shirt like this can be a lifesaver ©Amazon I love a loose button-down as an accessory, and it’s even better when it offers UV protection like this one does. Not only does it help block those harsh rays, but it’s also quick drying and moisture-wicking for those particularly hot days! View on Amazon You’ll pretty much always spot me in this Mickey hat ©Amazon Sunscreen is often not enough for my ghostly skin, so this red Mickey hat is my go-to for when I’m in the parks. It helps block some of the sun from my face, but it also means I probably don’t really have to put any effort into my hair for the day (HA). And, it makes me feel like I’m going incognito! View on Amazon Don’t forget my favorite park bag! Nylon Crescent Crossbody Purse I used to be a belt bag girl, but I have since seen the light of the Nylon Crescent Crossbody bag like this blue one here! It’s comfortable, stylish (so hot right now!), and holds WAY more than a Lululemon belt bag does. You’ll have no problem keeping all of my park essentials tucked away in this bag — because I do it all the time! 19. Across the globe, Disney Experiences is making wishes come true in honor of World Wish Day® 2025. But these aren’t just any wishes – they’re Disney Princess wishes, where tiaras sparkle, red carpets roll out, and fairy tales are unfolding in real life for children who can use a little magic. And this year, we’re celebrating with the first-ever Disney Week of Wishes. All week long, we’ll be sharing inspiring stories from across the company of the life-changing wishes granted by fan-favorite Disney characters and teams around the world! “Wish-granting is some of the most important work we do in Disney Experiences,” Josh D’Amaro, Chairman, Disney Experiences, said. “These moments are life-changing for the kids and families. They build them up with strength and resilience, and they have a lasting impact on them – and also on us. We are so honored when kids chose Disney to grant their wish, and it’s a very special privilege to share these experiences with them and help them make joyful new memories.” What is World Wish Day®? World Wish Day, celebrated annually on April 29, marks the anniversary of the wish that inspired the creation of Make-A-Wish® – the global organization that grants wishes to children with critical illnesses. On average, a Disney wish is granted every hour of every day. For nearly 45 years, Disney and Make-A-Wish have worked together to grant over 165,000 wishes! During Disney Week of Wishes, Disney and Make-A-Wish are coming together to bring happiness and joy to kids and their families worldwide. Here’s how Disney Week of Wishes is coming to life in our Parks and Resorts! Disney World Hosts Nearly 50 Make-A-Wish Kids for Once Upon A Wish Party Happening right now, Walt Disney World is welcoming nearly 50 wish kids and their families to Once Upon A Wish Party. Here, they’ll step into their own storybooks as part of a two-day adventure and become just like the Disney characters who inspired them during their medical journeys. Disneyland Grants Royal Wishes Galore Disneyland Resort is making wishes come true for kids like Justice, who wished to meet her favorite princesses at the park. On World Wish Day, several wish kids and their siblings got the royal treatment, including a Princess breakfast, transformations at Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique, and a grand celebration in-park for guests to cheer them on.   “Baking Up” Wishes with Cinderella, Ariel, and Rapunzel in Shanghai Just in time for World Wish Day, Shanghai Disney Resort granted three special wishes. Wish kids Ziyan (8), Hong (9), and Jiarui (10), had their baking wishes come to life in a tasty way, baking a royalty-themed cake inside the Enchanted Storybook Castle with none other than Chef Donald Duck, before meeting Cinderella, Ariel and Rapunzel. Three Disney Cruise Line Wishes Take Place Aboard the Disney Wish The magic of Disney wishes extends to the high seas for three wish kids who set sail on an unforgettable voyage aboard the Disney Wish. Anthony (17), a devoted Disney and cruise fan, embarked on the ultimate adventure at sea, including attending Olaf’s Royal Picnic alongside Anna and Elsa. Kara (12), who for years had dreamed of going on the “big boat,” finally saw her wish come true, alongside her parents and sister, Ella, whose own wish was granted last year. Delaney (15) experienced her own magical journey, making unforgettable memories as she explored the ship’s enchanted offerings and met her favorite princesses. Behind the Scenes: A Royal Shopping Spree & An Unforgettable Princess Party Once Upon a Wish Party at Disney World wouldn’t be complete without a touch of Disney magic from Disney Consumer Products. From princess gowns and accessories to toys, books and more, wish kids are getting to experience it all in royal fashion. The magic continued at Disney Store Ontario Mills. Sisters Kehlani (6) and Camila (3), who are both wish kids, were welcomed by fairy godmothers at Disney Store Ontario Mills who sprinkled some extra pixie dust on their special day. Each child received a princess makeover before making their debuts as Princess Anna and Queen Elsa and running around the store to pick out dolls, plush toys, dresses and more. Nearly every Disney wish is made even more unforgettable with the magic of our products, allowing kids to bring a piece of the magic home with them. The First-Ever Rapunzel Wish at Fantasy Springs is Granted in Tokyo For the first time ever, a wish to meet Rapunzel has been granted at Fantasy Springs, the newest immersive themed port at Tokyo DisneySea. 8-year-old wish kid Mei met Rapunzel and Flynn Rider at The Snuggly Duckling, followed by a dreamy boat ride on Rapunzel’s Lantern Festival. Wish Kid Meets Elsa After Theater Performance of a Lifetime in Hong Kong Hong Kong Disneyland granted five wishes, including that of 7-year-old wish child Yee Sun, who got to perform in the Mickey and the Wondrous Book stage performance. A devoted fan of Queen Elsa, Yee Sun also got to meet her shortly after. The audience, filled with over 1,000 Make-A-Wish alumni, guests, medical staff, and more, was beaming with joy. UK Singer Sam Ryder Joins Make-A-Wish Kids for Musical Wishes at Disneyland Paris 75 wish families from across Europe visited Disneyland Paris for a 3-day weekend of wishes come true, including magical experiences as part of the new Disney Music Festival. And as part of the launch, four wish kids from the UK joined singer Sam Ryder in front of Sleeping Beauty Castle for a live performance of the festival’s anthem while 30 other kids celebrated on Main Street, U.S.A. with Minnie’s Marching Band. A Moana Wish Come True at Aulani Wish Week In just a week, wish families will gather at Aulani, A Disney Resort & Spa for another rendition of Aulani Wish Week, a fun-filled week complete with adventure, Hawaiian traditions and more. Among the wish kids attending, Adeline will get to meet Moana! For 45 years, Disney has worked with Make-A-Wish to grant wishes and create happiness and joy for kids and families when it’s needed most, in ways that only Disney can thanks to “WishMakers” across the entire company. 20. Disney fans, this is your reminder that reservations for an exclusive NEW lounge open in just a few days! ©Disney We’ve eagerly been following the elusive new EPCOT lounge that was shaping up inside Spaceship Earth, and now we’ve finally learned its official name! If you’re looking to be among the first to try out the latest Disney World eats and drinks and even get to watch the nightly fireworks from a special spot, your chance is coming up soon. Disney World just introduced its upcoming lounge opening in EPCOT. When Disney confirmed the new name of GEO-82 for what we’ve been referring to as the Spaceship Earth lounge for the longest time, it’s like all the geodesic pieces were finally starting to fall together to make a beautiful puzzle complete. The only thing missing, was snagging our reservation to finally step inside! ©Disney Along with the namedrop, Disney also confirmed the new bar and lounge will be opening on June 4th, 2025 and will feature scenic views, innovative cocktails, and exquisite small plates. But, in a blink and you’ll miss it line, Disney also mentioned how soon we could start making reservations for this new restaurant. ©Disney While we’ll still have a few more weeks to wait for its grand opening, reservations to dine inside the lounge will open on May 6th. These advance reservations can be made on Disney World’s website or on the My Disney Experience app as late as 180 days out from your arrival. Space inside the lounge is already noted as being extremely limited so reservations are the best way to ensure your experience. This lounge will also only accept reservations for those ages 21 and older with a valid ID to present upon arrival for your reservation. ©Disney As the name implys, GEO-82 will be a nostalgic nod to Spaceship Earth—which has been an opening day staple since 1982. Once inside, you’ll be immersed in the history and legacy of this timeless EPCOT icon while enjoying cool cocktails, world-class wines and spirits, a classic assortment of beers, and savoring small plates made with global influences. ©Disney We’re already looking over what Disney’s teased so far of the menu in preparation for our first visit to this new offering. We’ll be bringing you along for our first look inside this new EPCOT lounge! 21. Can you feel it? The force has a strong presence in the air right now, as Star Wars Day is almost here! Millennium Falcon There’s been a lot of Star Wars going on lately — with Seasons of the Force happening at Disneyland, Star Wars celebration bringing us new announcements for upcoming projects, and Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith being re-released in theatres. Now we have some more news regarding Star Wars Day at Hollywood Studios! In case you didn’t know, Star Wars Day is May 4th, like “May the Fourth be with you.” On that day, you’ll always find a huge pool of Star Wars fans going to Hollywood Studios, where they will celebrate the iconic property. It’s well known that fans will gather in Galaxy’s Edge and ignite their lightsabers together! Well, something is coming BACK for the celebration day! Galaxy’s Edge Disney World just announced that a Virtual Queue will be making its return! This will be for a limited time only and will not be for any ride or attraction. It will be for guests looking to purchase merchandise during Star Wars Day at Hollywood Studios! You will NEED to join a Virtual Queue to enter the shopping experience. We aren’t surprised, as this is similar to how the Virtual Queue has operated before on this holiday. ©Disney Disney World hasn’t seen Virtual Queue for a little bit, as the last time it was used inside Disney World was February 24th – the day before Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind and Tiana’s Bayou Adventure both switched to have standby queues. Crowds at Cosmic Rewind When fans go to Celebrate Star Wars Day on May 4th, you’ll have a pool of options to choose from in the mix of new and limited-edition Star Wars-themed merchandise! The merchandise will be available at the Stage 1 Company Store in Hollywood Studios — “now that’s a name I have not heard in a long, long time”. Stage 1 Company Store The Stage 1 Company Store is located in Muppets Courtyard. It closed in 2020, with occasional small re-openings here and there. It was assumed to be closed permanently ahead of the re-theme of Muppets Courtyard into Monstropolis. While it’s not confirmed the future plans Disney has with this location, this could be the final opportunity that guests have to enter the shop. Stage 1 Company Store The items for the big celebration will include exclusive adult and youth apparel, collectibles, and limited-release pins. To join the virtual queue for the shopping event, guests will need to use the My Disney Experience app. You’ll find the virtual queue on the home page of the app. Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge Merchandise is subject to availability, and there is a chance that inventory may sell out — make sure you are ready to go for the merchandise! There will also be a purchase limit for guests, so be aware of that. Guests will be able to request to join the virtual queue beginning at 7:00 AM on May 4th. Hopefully, you can get your hands on some exclusive merchandise! To make sure you stay up to date on all the latest news, stay tuned with us at the Disney Food Blog! 22. The opening of Epic Universe is getting closer and closer, and we just can’t stop talking about it. We’ve been exploring the different lands, rides, and restaurants, so you know where to spend your time when you run through the portals. Super Nintendo World We visited Toadstool Cafe in Super Nintendo World to try out a few new foods. Toadstool Cafe is also in Universal Hollywood, and we’ve loved dining here before, so when it came to Orlando, we knew we had to try it out. Ready to enter the pipe? Here we goooooo! Atmosphere While the whole Super Nintendo World area feels like you stepped right into the world of Mario, that feeling continues into Toadstool Cafe. When we walked in, the Team Members told us that Chef Toad was waiting for us! As we walked through to get to the main dining room, there was a large window (well, it might just be a screen) that looked into Chef Toad in the kitchen. Chef Toad! You pass by the counter and enter the dining room, which has more of these windows with different scenes happening. You might see a few toads in the kitchen working on your meal or relaxing outside, and there are a few green pipes around the ceiling (plus some hidden details only Nintendo fans will know!). If you stay a little longer, you might find that the window scenes change! There are booth and table options, and everything looks like a cartoon with uneven lines and chunky parts. Grab a seat! Let’s find out what Chef Toad put on the menu! Menu There is nothing at Toadstool Cafe that isn’t themed to the max. Every menu item references something in the Nintendo World, like piranha plants, super stars, power-ups, and characters like Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach, and Bowser. The menu is filled with familiar favorites taken to the next level. You’ll find burgers, garlic knots, meatballs, and even a specialty drink, all themed in a way that makes them look like they came out of a video game. Inside Starters, salads, entrees, desserts, and a kids’ menu are all available at Toadstool Cafe, making it a great place to go with a large group that can’t decide on the same meal. There are only tables inside, and when we went, we could feel the cold AC in the room. There aren’t any real windows, so it can be a bit dark and loud at times. Toadstool Cafe at Universal Hollywood but it looks to same at Epic Universe! hile there was an ordering counter, when we visited, mobile ordering was the only option available. You simply go sit down at the table of your choice, scan the QR code, order your meal, and they’ll bring it straight to your table. How convenient is that? QR Code on Table at another Epic Universe Restaurant Grab a Power-Up, we need to get eating! Eats We started with the Bowser’s Fireball Challenge for $24.99. Bowser’s Challenge This is a 1lb. (!!!) meatball is topped with mozzarella cheese, mushroom marinara sauce, a Bowser puff pastry, parsley, and hot sauce on the inside. We NEED to talk about how incredible this puff pastry looks! The amount of crunch was just how we liked it, and we used it to scoop up more of that marinara sauce. The puff pastry The meatball is a packed and dense meatball with a whole lotta spice. If you’re not the biggest spice fan, you might want to sit this one out because Bowser can breathe fire, and we were feeling his wrath. With the meatball being 1 pound, the dish is easily shareable, and both portions are filling, especially if you plan to try a dessert. The inside Speaking of dessert, we had the ? Block Tiramisu for $8.99. ? Block Tiramisu This tiramisu is layered with coffee-soaked lady fingers topped with cocoa powder and a chocolate power-up. Another huge score in terms of presentation! It looks like it came straight out of the world of Mario. The coffee flavor was subtle, which is excellent for those who aren’t the biggest coffee fans, but might not be enough for those who seek out the best coffee in town. The lady finger cookies on the side are super crunchy, and if you can get the outside cookie in the same bite as the coffee-soaked ones, you’re in for a real treat. The inside Nosh or Not You need to check out Toadstool Cafe if… You’re a huge Nintendo fan and want the ultimate, immersive experience You want a quicker meal so you can run off to get on your next ride You enjoy familiar meals that are themed and feel special, but still have classic flavors You might want to skip Toadstool Cafe if… You want more adventurous foods to try You enjoy longer dining experiences You are looking for a wider variety of food options Our meal Overall Toadstool Cafe is the only restaurant in Super Nintendo World, outside of snack locations. It can be a great place to relax between rides and grab a meal that you’re familiar with and enjoy. Nintendo Super Fans will need to add this to their “must-do” list so they can say they were served by Chef Toad himself. We’re trying everything we can at Epic Universe before it opens on May 22nd, so you can have the best day ever. 23. There are great shoes for Disney World, there are “meh” shoes for Disney World, and there are also downright awful shoes for the parks. You need the right shoes for Disney World The choice is different for everyone, as some people have higher arches and need more support, and some are the complete opposite and need something totally flat. We don’t often tell you that there are any shoes you absolutely should never wear in the parks, but we’ll be honest, if any of us choose to wear Crocs into the parks, we ALWAYS avoid escalators for a very serious reason. Crocs in Disney World can be great — they dry easily, you often don’t have to worry about wet socks (unless you choose to wear socks with your Crocs), and this is especially great if you plan on going on lots of water rides. However, you’ll want to make sure your Crocs are very well broken in before your trip! Crocs However, Crocs and escalators don’t have a great relationship. We’ve seen far too many times just how easy it is for Crocs to get stuck in escalators, especially with kids who are still learning how to easily get off and on. Don’t believe us? Well, we’ve got pictures to prove it. Uh oh Yep, this is just ONE of the many times we’ve seen this happen. Thankfully, no one was hurt in this scenario, but not only does it mean that your shoes are now totally ruined and you have to buy new ones, but it also completely stops the escalator and puts it out of commission for a while. No Crocs allowed on Disney World escalators In fact, no Crocs are ALLOWED on Disney World escalators, but many people disregard this rule anyway, and that’s how situations like this happen. Abide by the signs and make sure your shoes don’t meet this same fate! More Tips and Tricks for your Vacation! Whether it be riding specific attractions, enjoying a certain meal, or even celebrating the holidays, many Disney World vacations are built on traditions — ones that families engage with every time they visit the “Most Magical Place on Earth.” Magic Kingdom However, 2025 is seeing a litany of experiences disappear from the resort, some temporarily and some permanently. Grand Floridian Gingerbread House The massive gingerbread house in the lobby of the Grand Floridian Resort & Spa has become a holiday institution at Walt Disney World, with some guests making pilgrimages to Disney World only to see the setup. The restaurant will be replaced by Bourbon Steak, from celebrity chef Michael Mira.
