Disney4me Posted February 29, 2020 Report Posted February 29, 2020 While the Food & Wine Festival in Disney California Adventure is a GREAT spot for snacking, we’re also sipping on so many tasty drinks to celebrate! DCA Food and Wine Passport We’ve already tried Garlic Kissed’s Carbonara Garlic Mac & Cheese with Bacon and the best dessert we’ve tried so far at Off the Cob, and now we’re about to taste SO MANY beers that are new to the festival this year at the Paradise Beer Garden! While the 2019 festival featured 10 different beers and a beer flight, the Festival Beer Garden is pulling out all the stops and rolling out more beers than they’ve ever offered before! We’re talking 12 yummy beers on this year’s line-up! Festival Beer Garden FRUIT BEERS: Two varieties of beer are featured at Paradise Beer Garden this year! Festival Beer Garden First, we’re focusing our beer goggles on the lighter, fruiter offerings! 2 Towns Outcider Hard Cider for $11.75, Bottle Logic Marceline Muffin Blueberry Imperial Blonde for $13.25, and Twisted Horn Raven’s Claw Apple & Boysenberry Mead for $11.75 all fall under this category! Beer at the Beer Garden! We sampled the Chihuahua Guava Lime Suprema Low-Cal Lager for $10.50. This one’s a very light and crisp beer with way more lime flavor than guava. It also had an oddly salty taste to it. We think it would have definitely benefited from a lime garnish, but it went down pretty smooth regardless! Chihuahua Guava Lime Suprema Low-Cal Lager STRONGER BEERS: Seeking something a little more intense? Then check out Paradise Beer Garden’s stronger stuff! Festival Beer Garden Menu Figueroa Mountain Point Conception IPA for $11.75 had a forward tropical flavor with a hint of pine. We thought it tasted like a hazier IPA than it actually is classified as. Figueroa Mountain Point Conception IPA Lost Winds Whirlpool Galaxy Double IPA for $11.75 has a malt flavor at its base with a layer of passion fruit over the top. It’s a sweet beer, but strong! Lost Winds Whirlpool Galaxy Double IPA Other stronger beer offerings include Smog City Little Bo Pils Unfiltered Pilsner for $11.75, and Founders Backwoods Bourbon Barrel-aged Scotch Ale for $15. Can’t choose only one (or two, or three…) Go with a Beer Flight for $16! In includes smaller portions of four of the beers we’ve described below annnnd they are: Ayinger Bräuweisse Hefeweizen (also available by the glass for $11.75) is a wheat beer with a lighter feel. It has a very yeasty flavor and was mild in comparison to the rest. We liked the complexity of some of the others better. Karl Strauss® Practice What You Peach Sour (also available by the glass for $13.25) is the only fruity beer in the flight and has a super sour taste. The peach flavor made it a little more palatable for us, but the fermented flavor and saltiness might be unpleasant if you aren’t a fan of this style of beer! Enegren Valkyrie Alt Bier (also available by the glass for $11.75) had a caramel flavor that came through straight away. It’s a darker amber color but feels good to drink. The aftertaste has more of a floral note to it. Allagash Black Stout (also available by the glass for $13.25) had a very smooth, espresso-like finish. We found it to be very tame flavor for being a black stout and we definitely picked up on some hints of chocolate. It’s super easy to drink but ultimately was pretty heavy. Definitely save some room for this one if you want it! Beer Flight All this beer should certainly help you cut through that fog of eating too much Food and Wine Festival food! What are we saying?
