Magic Kingdom has been making some MASSIVE changes. We’ve seen both Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin and Big Thunder Mountain Railroad get HUGE updates. Villains Land is being built behind Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. Piston Peak is being built in Frontierland. But we have yet another change to warn you about soon, too.

The Walt Disney World Railroad is set to close soon, so if you have plans to ride this attraction, you’ll want to make note!

Planning guide for the ultimate Disney vacation

According to the Disney World calendar, The Walt Disney World Railroad is set to close on September 28th. However, the good news is that the closure doesn’t seem to be for too long: the calendar shows it reopening on October 30th. This is probably just a refurbishment, so we don’t expect to see any big changes with the attraction.

The Walt Disney World Railroad is an opening day attraction in Magic Kingdom that operates with historic steam locomotives. It takes a round trip around Magic Kingdom and consists of four locomotives with five passenger cars each. Each train can hold about 365 people.

The railroad has three stations: Main Street, U.S.A., Frontierland, and Fantasyland. Usually, you can take a loop around the park, but due to construction in Frontierland, the railroad is operating in shuttle mode only: from Main Street, U.S.A. to Fantasyland and back again. Still, it’s a great way to save your feet if you don’t want to walk through the park.
