Disney4me Posted yesterday at 01:57 PM Report Posted yesterday at 01:57 PM Wait. Did the Disney World monorail monologue just change, and are we supposed to sit here and act like that isn’t a MASSIVE DEAL?? The Monorail at EPCOT We were on the monorail when we heard something we’re not quite used to. Now, we probably have the old one memorized because we’re always on, and once you hear it enough times, it just becomes a part of you. I guess we’ll have to memorize this new one because things are changing! On one part of our ride, we got to hear Walt Disney talk about EPCOT, the Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow. While we knew what EPCOT stood for, we loved hearing that other families in the monorail car learned something new! Walt Disney talking about EPCOT on the monorail is giving us ALL the feels this morning pic.twitter.com/oULZnbyzyJ — Disney Food Blog (@DisneyFoodBlog) August 27, 2026 Hearing Walt Disney’s voice is such a special way to start (or end) your day in Disney World, and we can totally get behind this new addition. Beep Beep! In another section of the monologue, we also heard a narrator give safety rules, and it now says “no vaping.” The new voice does not sound like Tom Kayne, who was the voice of the monorail system since 2012 and recently passed away earlier this year, but we know his legacy will live on in other areas of the park. Monorail The overall speech got a little overhaul with fewer current projects and experiences being mentioned. We think this new monologue will be more relevant and feel less dated as attractions open, close, and change throughout the years, so we’re not exactly shocked to hear of the changes. EPCOT While the monorail monologue (gosh, I just love saying that) doesn’t change too often, we also like to keep our ears open on the PeopleMover in Magic Kingdom. This changes from time to time if there’s a massive refurbishment underway or if a new ride just opened (as it did with TRON Lightcycle/Run). PeopleMover The Walt Disney World Railroad can also change up its narration, so it might sound different than it did the last time you were on it. This is another one that changes with current attractions, like it did when Tiana’s Bayou Adventure opened. Railroad time!
