Magic Kingdom The weather in Florida in the summertime can be incredibly brutal. With intense UV indexes and high levels of humidity, plus frequent rainstorms, you’re in for a wild and sweaty ride. And this week, Disney World is under a heat advisory. Fox 35 reports that the Saharan Dust has arrived in the Central Florida area, lowering the air quality and decreasing the amount of moisture in the air. With the dust, the chances of afternoon storms will decrease, which means there are fewer opportunities to cool of that hot sun. Stormy day in EPCOT Temperature highs will be in the upper 90s, but the “feels like” temperatures will be reaching near 110ºF. The temperatures will be about 5ºF above the average high and the average low for this time of year. Because of this, heat advisories are in place for most of the Central Florida region. Disney’s Hollywood Studios So if you’re heading to Disney World soon, there are a few things to keep in mind. Most important of all is that you need to HYDRATE! Bring a refillable water bottle and get ice water for free at spots around the parks that have beverage fountains. Also, make sure you wear your sunscreen because the UV index is intense. Water Bottle Refill Station Take plenty of breaks by going indoors in the air conditioning — maybe sit down at a theater show or do a restaurant reservation. If you have small children, make sure you have a stroller fan to keep them cool, and be on the lookout for signs of heat illness with anyone in your party. A necessity!
