Disney4me Posted 2 hours ago Report Posted 2 hours ago August is right around the corner and there are some pretty important changes coming to the Magic Kingdom. Main Street, U.S.A. From new decor to special-ticketed events to ongoing closures and refurbishments, we’ve got it all covered! Here’s everything you need to know if you’re visiting Magic Kingdom in August! Get Ready For The Fall Decorations This year may be the earliest guests see fall decorations being displayed around the Magic Kingdom. Because the Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party start date is the earliest it has ever been, you may start to see those Mickey pumpkin heads and fall leaves being displayed in the first couple of days of the month. Disney typically starts slowly putting out decor starting in August, with everything out by the first party night, and since the first party night is in the first week of August, you can expect Magic Kingdom to be decked out in fall decor by then. Fall Decor at The Confectionary A MAJOR Change Hits Disney World NEXT MONTH! Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party Begins Speaking of Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, there are NINE days in August when the party will take place — August 7th, 11th, 14th, 18th, 21st, 23rd, 25th, 28th, and 30th. On these days, the Magic Kingdom will close to regular day guests at 6 PM. In the past, these days were the best to visit this park if you don’t have a party ticket because it tends to be less crowded! Guests attending Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party will be able to enter the park starting at 4 PM, with the party running from 7 PM until 12 AM. Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party Tickets for this event in August cost from $129 to $159 per ticket, depending on the day you choose. And tickets are already selling out (August 11th and 14th are already sold out), so be sure to buy them as soon as possible to ensure you can go! Personally, this is my favorite special-ticketed event in Disney World! The perk is exclusively for guests staying in Disney Deluxe Resorts, Disney Deluxe Villa Resorts, and several other participating hotels. Big Top Souvenirs Big Top Souvenirs — the souvenir and snack shop located in Storybook Circus in Fantasyland, continues to remain closed for refurbishment with plans to open later this year. Although the gift shop remains closed, the character meet-and-greet location (Pete’s Silly Sideshow) recently reopened for guests to meet Minnie Mouse, Daisy Duck, Donald Duck, and Goofy. Instead of exiting through Big Top Souvenirs after you meet them, you will be guided toward a hallway down the left side of the building to exit. Big Top Souvenirs Walt Disney’s Carousel of Progress On July 6th, Walt Disney’s Carousel of Progress closed for a lengthy refurbishment, which means it will not be operational in August. As technological advances continued, the attraction was becoming a bit outdated. Its upcoming reimagining will take guests on a journey through the 1960s, the 1980s, the new millennium, and a possible future, all beginning with an introductory scene featuring Walt Disney himself. The updated attraction is expected to reopen sometime in 2027. Walt Disney’s Carousel of Progress We NEED to Know. Will Disney Fix This Major Carousel of Progress Problem During Its Closure? Ongoing Construction The construction of a new land in Magic Kingdom just surpassed a year, and it’s still going strong. The Rivers of America permanently closed last July to make way for Piston Peak, a new themed land inspired by Pixar’s Cars. The expansion will feature two brand-new attractions: an exciting off-road rally race adventure and a family-friendly ride designed for younger racers. While Disney has not yet announced an opening date, we’ll be sure to share the details as soon as they’re released! Piston Peak Construction Now that you’re prepared with everything going on in Magic Kingdom this August, it’s time to start planning your itinerary, especially thinking about where you want to eat!
