And something that can make it even MORE stressful is having to deal with a connecting flight. Let’s go on a trip! But that won’t be an issue anymore in one Florida airport because a new nonstop route was just added! Melbourne Orlando International Airport (MLB) recently announced the addition of a nonstop route to a popular New York airport via Delta Airlines. According to the Orlando Business Journal, Delta Airlines will launch a new nonstop flight from the Melbourne Orlando International Airport to New York’s LaGuardia Airport (LGA) this winter. This flight will take place twice a week beginning on December 19th through May 2nd, 2027. ©Getty Images This flight will take approximately three hours, and one-way tickets range from $154 to $354 depending on availability and when you’re traveling. And according to airport officials, Delta will be adding 80 flights (roughly 6,080 seats) to Melbourne, FL with this new service. ©Getty Images This flight is offered on the Embraer E-175 aircraft, which has 76 seats, making it smaller than the other Delta planes in its fleet. These flights will be offered on Saturdays and Sundays only, timed to coincide with Port Canaveral’s cruise schedule since the Melbourne Orlando International Airport is considered to be the closest airport to the port. Disney Wish at Port Canaveral Even if you’re not planning to take a cruise, this could be a great alternative to flying into the Orlando International Airport (MCO) if you’re planning to take a trip to Disney since it only takes about 1.5 hours to get from the Melbourne Orlando International Airport to Disney World. Instead of having to worry about connecting flights and transportation from MCO, you could easily rent a car and drive to Disney from MLB.
