Disney fans, get ready to revisit some classic video games: The Disney Afternoon Collection is coming to Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 on February 26 for digital download, with physical copies launching at a later date. The games featured in this collection are based on several animated series that were part of The Disney Afternoon television programming in the 1990s.

It’s a nostalgic moment for many of us who grew up during that time, hurrying home after school to watch some of our favorite characters on screen.

The classic early 90s games featured in The Disney Afternoon Collection were originally released by Capcom and later chosen by developer Digital Eclipse to be re-released for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.

Now, Digital Eclipse is finally bringing that collection to the Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 with eight great games, which include the Nintendo Entertainment System classics: DuckTales (1989), DuckTales 2 (1993), Chip ‘n Dale Rescue Rangers (1990), Chip ‘n Dale Rescue Rangers 2 (1994), Darkwing Duck (1992), and TaleSpin (1991).

Additionally, two Super Nintendo Entertainment System games that were not part of the collection before — Goof Troop (1993) and Bonkers (1994) — are only available for the Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2.

But it’s more than just classic games and iconic animated television series! Here are some of the things you can experience when The Disney Afternoon Collection launches digitally for Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 on February 26.

Partner For Adventure

Team up with a friend to enjoy two-player cooperative adventures in Goof Troop, where Goofy and Max explore the pirate stronghold Spoonerville Island in order to rescue Pete and PJ.

In both Chip ‘n Dale Rescue Rangers action platform games, friends can choose to be either Chip or Dale and work together to stop Fat Cat’s nefarious plans.

Pogo To Riches

In both DuckTales games, take on the role of Scrooge McDuck, who defeats enemies by pogo-jumping on his cane, scouring the whole world for treasure to bring back to Duckburg.

Go Totally Nuts!

In Bonkers, police officer Bonkers D. Bobcat is on the case to solve crimes across Toontown, while also locating and returning the three legendary Toon Treasures after defeating a series of enemies.

Blast The Baddies

Looking for some shooting action? In TaleSpin, jump into Baloo’s plane “The Sea Duck” and maneuver through the clouds to fend off incoming enemies and avoid obstacles. Buy upgrades for the plane to increase your chances of beating the boss enemy at the end of each level.

Flap In The Night

Get dangerous with Darkwing Duck! Six of Darkwing’s greatest enemies: The Liquidator, Megavolt, Dr. Reginald Bushroot, Quackerjack, Professor Moliarty, and Wolfduck have been hired to wreak havoc throughout St. Canard.

Players must upgrade Darkwing’s Gas Gun as they complete each stage to subdue the enemy leading up to the final confrontation with Steelbeak, a member of F.O.W.L. (The Fiendish Organization for World Larceny).

Rock Out to the Soundtracks

These games have banger soundtracks, and players can experience them all in the custom music player. Listen to tracks like the “Moon Theme,” which famously made its way from the video game to the 2017 DuckTales animated series.
