Atmosphere

The moment you set foot inside The Edison, you feel like you have been transported somewhere else. This restaurant is inspired by The Edison venue in Los Angeles. It is a lavish “Industrial Gothic” style restaurant that is themed to a 1920s power plant.

The Edison

The restaurant itself is two stories tall, and when you enter, you overlook the lower level. We definitely recommend spending some time walking around this restaurant, as there is so much to see!

The Edison

The menu features classic American food presented in modern ways, along with craft cocktails. You can stop by for lunch or dinner, or also attend one of the many special events The Edison hosts, including cocktail classes.

But enough about the restaurant — what’s on the menu here?!

Menu

To start off, The Edison has quite a few choices for shares & nibbles, including their well-known DB “Clothesline” Candied Bacon.

You can also get salads and burgers, including The Edison Burger.

The Edison also has a list of their patented specialties, which are entrees, and their patented partners, which are sides.

The Edison also has a couple of options for sweets to finish off your meal.

One thing that The Edison does not lack is options for drinks! You can grab an old-timey soda, a non-alcoholic beverage, or a high roller cocktail.

Or, you can also choose from one of Edison’s Elixers.

There is also a featured cocktail and zero-proof options.

Plus, there is an extensive list of draught, bottled, canned beers, and cider.

And plenty of wines to choose from as well!

And now, onto the main event — the food!

Eats

First up, we grabbed the Circuit Board for $19. It is made with handmade buttermilk biscuits, country ham, hatch pepper cheese, pickles, ranch pretzels, apple butter, and WhistlePig barrel-aged maple butter.

Circuit Board

We really enjoyed this! The biscuits were for sure our favorite part — they were soft and fluffy, and had lots of buttery flavor to them. The pretzels were also really addictive, as they had a wonderful seasoning blend on them that reminded us a bit of the seasoning on the original Dot’s pretzels.

So flaky!

Our only complaint is that we wish there were maybe some crackers to use with the cheese and ham, but they were also great by themselves. The pickles were fresh, crisp, and tangy; the apple butter was fantastic! The other dip was the maple butter, where the main flavor was definitely the butter (the maple was very light), which we appreciated.

We would have loved some crackers!

We also grabbed the Pulled Pork Hand Pies for $17. It is made with a flaky pie dough, slow-roasted pork, cheddar cheese, and cilantro garlic aioli.

Pulled Pork Hand Pies

These had a beautifully buttery and flaky dough, even though it was a bit on the harder side. The aioli really added a lot of great flavor to the dish — it was herby and creamy, and went really well with the hand pies. The pork was tender, and the filling was very juicy with the cheese mixed in as well. We were impressed!

Delicious!

We also had to try the PB, B&B Electric Co. for $19, which is butter-griddled sourdough, peanut butter, smoked bacon, banana, and l.burbank fries.

The PB, B&B Electric Co.

If you grew up on banana and peanut butter sandwiches, this will be a blast from the past. The sandwich is filled with ooey gooey peanut butter, soft bananas, and crispy bacon, and sandwiched between two crispy and buttery on the outside, and fluffy on the inside pieces of bread. While it was very tasty, it was a bit too sweet for us and felt more like a dessert, but if that’s your jam, then you’ll love this! The bananas are almost caramelized and are super soft, and the peanut butter is also pretty sweet and creamy. The fries were wonderfully crispy, which we really appreciated, and had a great seasoning!

Reminds us of our childhood!

For dessert, we got the Cast Iron Apple Pie for $15. It features flaky pie crust, honey crisp apples, cinnamon, vanilla gelato, and bourbon toffee sauce.

Cast Iron Apple Pie

This was like a disc of pie crust and the apple filling was underneath, and the gelato on top was creamy with lots of vanilla flavor. The pie crust was crispy, and it honestly took a bit of effort to cut through, but it was flaky, and the crispiness worked well with the tender apples.

Delicious!

The apples were coated in a sticky syrup with lots of cinnamon flavor, so much so that the bourbon toffee sauce was a bit hard to taste over the rest of the flavors, but we did get a slight hint of toffee. It added some complexity that we really enjoyed!

Drinks

To drink, we picked up the Strawberry Fields Forever for $18. It is made with Wheatley vodka, St-Germain liqueur, honey, lime juice, strawberries, and mint.

Strawberry Fields Forever

This is full of strawberry flavor and had us super impressed! It’s definitely on the sweeter side, and it reminds us a bit of a strawberry limeade with a hint of mint. The alcohol in the drink adds a bit of herbiness, which we enjoyed, but it was very fruity and easy to sip on. Overall, we’re big fans of this drink and how much it tastes like REAL strawberry, not artificial strawberry.
