Disney4me Posted June 28, 2025 Report Posted June 28, 2025 When it comes to dining at a buffet in Disney World, it can be touch and go. Some buffets are excellent and among our favorite foods in Disney World (yes, we’re talking about Boma). Some buffets are the ones we go to mostly just to see characters, meaning the food is usually secondary (Chef Mickey’s, we’re looking at you). Cape May Cafe However, there’s a buffet in Disney World that specializes in seafood, and we rarely see anyone talking about it. So we’re going to head on over to Disney’s Beach Club Resort to have dinner at Cape May Cafe. Atmosphere You’ll find Cape May Cafe just off the lobby at Disney’s Beach Club. Cape May Cafe The atmosphere is very beachy with lots of natural light and beach vibe decor. There is plenty of seating with tables and chairs, as well as booths. Beachy vibes Note that this is a buffet, so servers will come around to take your drink orders, but then you’re on your own to fill plates with food. Buffet But enough about the restaurant — what’s on the menu here?! Menu The Cape May Cafe dinner buffet is $49 per adult and $29 per child. This is an all-you-care-to-enjoy restaurant, though, so you can easily get your money’s worth depending on how much you eat. There’s also a special drink menu where you can order specialty non-alcoholic drinks, cocktails, beer, and wine for an additional price. Drinks menu And now, onto the main event — the food! Eats There is plenty on the buffet to eat, including a lot of seafood. We do need to preface this review by noting that our reporter is allergic to shellfish, so for this dinner, we stayed away from that. But we did make a plate, so you can get an idea of what other kinds of seafood are available on the buffet. Seafood Plate But let’s talk about what we did eat. The Salmon was perfectly cooked, moist, and flaky. We especially liked the sweet chili sauce on it. We could eat a whole platter of this if given the opportunity. Salmon The Pasta Salad of the Day was a plant-based pasta salad. It had a lot of eggplant and mushroom flavor, so it almost tasted meaty. We also liked the tender green beans and peppers in it. Pasta Salad of the Day We felt the same way about the Cornbread. It wasn’t great, but it wasn’t bad either. It was also a little dry. Again, though, this was nothing we couldn’t get anywhere else. Cornbread The Parker House Roll was fluffy with a hint of sweetness. It’s a decent roll, but again, it’s basic. Still, we like this kind of rolls, so no complaints. Parker House rolls The Caesar Salad has a creamy dressing on it, but the dressing didn’t have a lot of flavor. The vegetables tasted very fresh, and we liked the crunchy elements. Caesar Salad Okay, now we have to talk about the Macaroni and Cheese from the kids’ section of the buffet. DO NOT skip out on it. This mac and cheese is white cheddar, and it is wonderfully creamy and cheesy. Pro tip: grab a roll and sop of the leftover cheese sauce — don’t let any of that go to waste! Macaroni and cheese We found the Sirloin to be tender and juicy, as well as well-cooked. It didn’t even need a sauce with it. It has a great beefy taste with a smoky char on the outside. Sirloin The Tofu Rice was a nice surprise because it was good. It had a slight sweetness to it that we weren’t sure about at first, but it grew on us. The rice is cooked well and still has a bit of bite. Then it’s also covered in a creamy sauce with some veggies mixed in. Tofu rice The Seasonal-inspired Salad was also nice. It had a thick vinaigrette dressing on it plus almonds, strawberries, and spinach. Everything about it tasted fresh and it had a nice crunch. The combination of the vinaigrette with the toppings worked well together. Seasonal Inspired Salad Okay, it’s time for dessert! We grabbed the Cranberry Orange Tart, and well, you could tell it had been sitting on the buffet for more than a hot minute. The crust was soggy, but the filling was creamy and had nice orange and cranberry flavors. It was also light with a thin layer of jam on top. We liked the fruitiness, too. Cranberry Orange Tart Now we get to tell you all about the Cheesecake. First up, it’s so CUTE. But it’s also delicious. We loved the creamy texture of the cheesecake filling and the fact that it wasn’t super light or super dense. It was JUST RIGHT. Cheesecake We weren’t so thrilled about the Boston Cream Pie Cupcake, though. This was our least favorite dessert. The cupcake was dry, and the frosting was just way too sweet. We also didn’t get the Boston Cream Pie inspiration for it, though. It’s just a regular cupcake. Boston Cream Pie Cupcake BUT the BonBons…okay, so Cape May Cafe is famous for this dessert, and we get the hype. They’re made with an Oreo cookie on the bottom and then topped with a light and creamy mousse. Then all that is covered with a super thin layer of crunchy chocolate powder. Bonbon We’ll admit that we went back for another one of these. Drinks We also ordered a cocktail to go with our dinner: the Rum Swizzle, made with Mount Gay Eclipse Rum with Tropical Juices and flavors of Guava and Mango for $15.50. Our server told us this was one of the most popular drinks, so we had to try it. Let’s just say you can taste the rum in this drink, although the other main flavors we got were orange, pineapple, and guava. It’s on the sweet side, so you’ll want to stir it up good before you sip. Rum Swizzle Overall, though, this drink is fruity and sweet and has that whole beach and tropical vibe. Nosh or Not This Disney World restaurant is a must-visit if… You like seafood. There is a lot of seafood, including shellfish, on the buffet, and although we couldn’t eat it, we saw people loading up plates with just about all of it and going back for more. You’re staying nearby or visiting EPCOT. Cape May Cafe is in the EPCOT resort area, so it’s very handy to do both EPCOT and the hotels in the vicinity. You’re really hungry. If you want to get your money’s worth, you’ll need to bring your appetite. You should skip this Disney World spot if… You’re allergic to shellfish or don’t like seafood. Although you will find things other than seafood here, seafood is the primary option on the buffet. You don’t eat big meals. This is a buffet, and it’s a little pricey, so if you don’t normally eat big meals, this could be a waste of money for you. You want a quick meal. If you just want to grab a quick dinner somewhere, this is not it. This is a table service restaurant, so although you mostly serve yourself, the meal will still take some time out of your day. Overall One thing we need to note is that if you do have allergies, you’ll need to make sure to bring it up with your server. Checking in online no longer has that option, and the host will tell you to speak to your server. Your server probably won’t bring it up, so be sure to ask for yourself. We will note that if you do have a shellfish allergy, you might want to stay away from here, as a lot of what’s on the menu is shellfish. However, with that being said, if you love seafood, this is a chance to get plates stacked high with your favorite things. We also liked the nice seaside vibe here and didn’t find the restaurant overly noisy. Our server was also very attentive.
