  4. Are there any Disney souvenirs that you collect? Disney World has TONS of souvenir options! Coffee mugs, Mickey and Minnie ears, Spirit Jerseys, and keychains are some popular items that people collect from their trips to Disney World, but there are SO many more options. There are popcorn buckets, home decor, all kinds of toys, magnets, Loungefly backpacks, and so much more. Over the years, the options have varied, and some items Disney has stopped producing altogether, which can be pretty sad for anyone collecting those items. Unfortunately, we’ve noticed one item has started disappearing from the parks and other Disney stores recently. Disney sells all kinds of toys. You’ll find action figures, dolls, mini sneakers, and puzzles. Literally, anything and everything you can think of, Disney probably has it. One toy that has been fun for kids to play with and many adults have collected are nuiMO plushes. Oswald nuiMO nuMO plushes are small, stylized dolls that are seriously adorable, and Disney has sold them in a wide variety of characters. We’ve seen Moana, Anna, Snow White, Ahsoka, Baby Yoda (Grogu), and more in the Disney World stores and online at the Disney Store. Alice in Wonderland nuiMO One of the fun things about these plush toys is that you can change their outfits! You have been able to purchase adorable outfits to put on your nuiMO to change them and dress them up however you want them. Isn’t it cute?! Unfortunately, we’ve stopped by SEVERAL different shops at both Disney World and Disneyland recently, and these cute outfits are nowhere to be found. There have been characters at World of Disney on both coasts and in other stores around the parks, but we have not seen any of the outfits out on display. Pixar nuiMO outfit There are also none of these outfits available on the Disney Store website. When you search for nuiMO on the website, you’ll see several character plush options, but there are no outfits for sale. nuiMO Outfit Perhaps these outfits weren’t as popular as the plushes themselves are, and if there weren’t many people purchasing them, Disney might have decided to stop selling them. We’re not sure of the official reason for their disappearance, but if you enjoyed collecting these nuiMO outfits, you may not be able to find them for sale at Disney stores anymore. ‘Tangled’ outfit If items become irrelevant, such as antenna covers for cars, or just become less popular over the years, Disney may stop producing them. That seems to be the case for these adorable plush outfits. For more Disney news, keep following DFB! 5. With a team full of theme park reporters, we here at DFB have tried DOZENS of hacks in Disney World over the years! Beauty and the Beast Sing Along From hacks that’ll help you save money to tricks for how to get on rides faster to the ultimate snack hacks, if there’s a new tip out there, chances are that we’ll try it out to see if it works. And along with that list, we’ve tried quite a few MagicBand hacks over the years
now we’re sharing our favorites! DISCLOSURE: This post may contain affiliate links, meaning when you click the links and make a purchase, we receive a commission. What IS a MagicBand? For starters, let’s break down what a MagicBand is and does. MagicBands have been around in some variation in Disney World since 2013, but in that time, they’ve had quite a few versions. The latest version of the technology is the MagicBand+, which added on some interactive features that the previous MagicBand 2 didn’t have. MagicBand+ These days, you won’t find many MagicBand 2 designs for sale in the parks or online, as Disney seems to be phasing them out slowly in favor of the newer MagicBand+ option. A MagicBand+ is a rechargeable wristband with a light-up puck in the center. It uses RFID technology to assist you in the parks, and can be scanned at various touchpoints to act as your park ticket (IF you already have a park ticket and the MagicBand+ linked to your My Disney Experience account). Star Wars R2-D2 Magicband+ You can use your MagicBand+ to do quite a few things, including scan into the parks, scan into Lightning Lanes, unlock your hotel room door, and even charge purchases to your hotel room. So what are the BEST features and hacks that the MagicBands offer? Let’s break it down. Remove the Puck to Wear It With Your Watch One of our favorite MagicBand+ hacks is that you can purchase a puck holder for your Apple Watch or other smart watch. With this device, you simply remove the center piece of the MagicBand+, put it in the puck holder, and then slide the holder onto your watch band. It allows you to wear both devices at the same time! Apple Watch band MagicBand+ converter This Luke3DP Watch Adapter Compatible with New 2022 Disney MagicBand+ is available on Amazon currently, and we’ve used it ourselves in the parks! You can order it in several different colors for each of your family members. GET THE PUCK HOLDER ONLINE HERE! Charging Purchases to Your Hotel Room We mentioned above that MagicBands could be used to charge purchases to your hotel room, and many people forget about this particular feature! In order to use this hack, you’ll need to have the card you want to use listed on file for your “incidentals” and be staying at a Disney World Resort. You’ll set up a PIN for each person in your hotel room — without that PIN, they won’t be able to charge their purchases. (Prevents the kiddos from spending recklessly on mom and dad’s dime!) Card Reader Once those things are set up, you can scan your MagicBand to pay at gift shops, snack stands, and various other locations around Disney World. Your purchases will be charged to your hotel room account. How convenient! Ordering MagicBands at a Discount For a while, there was a really great perk where Disney World Resort guests could get a free MagicBand with their hotel stay. That was discontinued a few years ago, but Resort guests can still order a MagicBand+ ahead of their trip at a discount! MagicBand+ To choose your MagicBand+, you’ll need to log into your Disney World account on the website and have a hotel stay booked for the future. You’ll be given the choice of select MagicBand+ designs, so this is a great deal if you’re not too picky about which pattern you want. The offerings vary throughout the year, so if you don’t see one you like, you can always check back closer to your trip! Look Out for Special Interactive Elements And finally, we’ve got to talk about the fun interactive elements of the MagicBand+! You may already know that you can use the MagicBand+ to interact with the Disney Fab 50 character statues around the parks, but did you know that your band may also light up for rides, attractions, and fireworks shows? MagicBand+ Depending on the attraction, you may look down at your wrist and discover that your MagicBand+ is lighting up with special haptics and effects to match your expeirence. We’ve noticed this with some entertainment offerings, newer attractions, and the nighttime fireworks shows. It’s a fun little addition that we think kids in particular will enjoy! Effects at the Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular So there you have it — our favorite hacks for using MagicBand+ in Disney World. We’ll keep you in the loop with more tips and tricks for your vacation, so stay tuned. Click Here for the Guide to MagicBand+! 6. Who’s ready to get dressed up and go to a Disney Park? Pictured: @tymaxham Well, if you’re interested in doing just that, you may be interested in Dapper Day, which is an unofficial event at both Disney World and Disneyland where visitors are encouraged to dress up in their vintage BEST and have a little old-fashioned fun in the parks. Now that we’ve enjoyed the Dapper Day events in 2024, it’s time to look forward to 2025. So if you’re wanting to know about Dapper Day events in 2025, we’re going to tell you all about them. Dapper Days are usually held in both the spring and fall in both Disney World and Disneyland on different weekends. There’s also a Dapper Day Expo at the Disneyland Hotel that coincides with the Disneyland event where you can “join the biggest celebration of style in California!” The event usually brings in exhibitors with all kinds of dapper apparel and accessories for purchase. @briar_rose_cosplay @experimentalprototype @scottlenck So when are next year’s events? Well, we know about the spring events, although the fall events are still to be announced. In Disneyland, the Dapper Day Expo will be at the Disneyland Hotel on April 12th through 13th, while Dapper Day will be held in Disneyland Park on April 13th. Note that you will need a valid park ticket and park pass reservation to attend Dapper Day in Disneyland Park. ©Dapper Day In Disney World, the spring Dapper Day event will be on April 26th and 27th, with the parks for those dates still to be announced. Dapper Day also hopes to have a pop-up shop just before and/or during the event, too. Dapper Day Pop-Up Shop in EPCOT In Disney World, you will need a valid park ticket to enter the park for the Dapper Day event, so keep that in mind. Once we know which parks will be holding Dapper Day events this year, we’ll let you know. Stay tuned to DFB for more. 7. It seems like EVERYTHING is changing in Orlando. Disney World is about to go through some MAJOR changes in all four of its parks with new lands, new rides, expansions, and more. Inside Terminal C at MCO Airport Universal Orlando will be opening Epic Universe next year, which will also include three new hotels. Well, Orlando International Airport is also changing in some HUGE ways, so apparently, 2024 and 2025 is the YEAR OF CHANGE in Orlando. So let’s talk about what’s recently changed and will be changing at our favorite airport. So here’s what’s changed or is changing at Orlando International Airport (and seriously, y’all, we’re excited!). Epic Universe Store The next time you fly through Orlando International Airport, you’ll be able to visit the brand NEW Epic Universe Store. You’ll find it next to the regular Universal Orlando store in the space that used to be for pop-up shops for things like Halloween Horror Nights. There it is! We imagine you’ll be able to find all kinds of Epic Universe merchandise inside this new store similar to what you’ll find at the Epic Universe Preview Center at Universal Orlando’s CityWalk. See more photos of the Epic Universe Store New restaurants Okay, so we won’t lie when we say we’re excited about more food options at the airport because, let’s face it, unless you’re flying into or out of Terminal C, the food options right now are
well, slim to none. Well, eight local restaurants will soon make their way to the airport — and WE ARE SO READY. ©Orlando International Airport The new restaurants will be Stasio’s Italian Deli, Smoke & Donuts, Kelly’s Ice Cream, SoDough Detroit Pizza, Milkhouse Jam-Eng Caribbean and English Cuisine, 4 Rivers Smokehouse, and Otto’s High Dive. We can’t wait to try out all the new food. Learn more about these new restaurants Updated logo and branding If you’ve been to Orlando International Airport recently, you may have noticed that the airport looks a little different. The airport got a brand new logo and branding, which you can see all over the airport. Even the airport’s website got a makeover — and we’re loving it. ©Orlando International Airport You might also have noticed that the airport’s app looks different — it also got a complete overhaul. It’s more user-friendly now and it’s easier to find airport information than ever, so be sure to check it out. Check out the airport’s new logo and branding here Parking guidance system Orlando International Airport has invested $10 million into improving its parking situation. The airport will install Parking Guidance System technology into its parking structures similar to the system at Disney Springs where digital boards display how many spots are left in a given lot as well as red and green lights above spots to let you know which ones are empty or occupied. Orlando International Airport signage The Greater Orlando Aviation Authority (GOAA) Board also recently approved a contract for Curbside Traffic Management Services that would keep traffic flows going at the Terminal A, B, and C curbs. Learn more about this project here Terminal C expansion Terminal C is still pretty new, but Orlando International Airport is already making plans to expand it. The airport was recently awarded $69 million in federal funds for two Terminal C expansion projects. One of the projects will provide four new Multiple Aircraft Ramp System gates, allowing “either four wide body or eight narrow body aircraft” to be served at the gate. Orlando International Airport Terminal C The second project is to create a 450-foot enclosed pedestrian bridge that will allow passengers to walk directly from the Brightline train station to Terminal C. Learn more about this expansion So there’s a lot to get excited about when it comes to Orlando International Airport — we can’t wait! In the meantime, stay tuned to DFB for more. 8. There are lots of things at the Disney World parks that we love. Aladdin and Jasmine on the Magic Carpets We love seeing characters wandering the parks and meeting guests (and even riding some rides with guests!). We are HUGE fans of the EPCOT festivals. And shopping at the stores in the parks is one of our favorite pastimes. There are lots of things that Disney does well that make us keep coming back for more. However, there is one trend that we’ve noticed at the Disney World parks that we wish Disney would get rid of, but we’re afraid that Boomers are going to be mad if Disney does away with it. Food is obviously something that we here at Disney Food Blog enjoy a lot. We LOVE tasting everything new, returning, and park favorites. Disney World may be a theme park, but the food is generally way better than you might expect from a theme park. Yak & Yeti Restaurant full-spread As much as we seriously dig Disney World food, we do have some beef with a trend that affects a lot of it. As good as the food is, there are a lot of times that we find it to be relatively bland. Even something that is “spicy” at Disney World isn’t really that spicy. There’s Disney World spicy, and then there’s real spice. We know there are a lot of fans, particularly those that fall into the Boomer generation, that are happy to have this bland food, but we would LOVE to have some real SPICE in our lives at the parks. Meal at Nine Dragons There are not a lot of super adventurous foods either. You’ll often find beef, chicken, and pork options, but having some off-the-wall, fun items would be a new trend we’d enjoy seeing. A lot of times, “new” food items are just a new spin or take on something we’ve previously seen (we’ve been eating Disney World food for a long time; we know when something is really new.) If we started getting some exciting new flavors, a spice level that makes us sweat, and more variation in food, we would be in food Heaven. Pizzafari eats in Animal Kingdom Yes, bland and basic food is certainly needed when Disney World is serving food to thousands of people every day. We know and understand that there’s a place for these options. But we’re begging to see MORE adventurous options sprinkled in, as well. Of course, there are a few great options around the resort that we really enjoy; we’re not saying it’s impossible to find, but it’s far less common to find spicy and adventurous food than basic, bland ones. Full Spread at Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater We’ll continue to try Disney World’s food, and we KNOW there is a lot that we’re gonna love. We just hope that a bit more spice and new flavor is sprinkled in with every other option. For more Disney food news, keep following DFB! Can It Be?! FRESH, NON-STALE CHURROS Exist in Disney World?! 9. We got to sail on the Disney Treasure, and it was a blast! Welcome to the Disney Treasure! We boarded Disney’s newest cruise ship thanks to a media event, and during our sailing, we experienced SO many of the offerings onboard. From entertainment to lounges to the rotational dining offerings, we had a blast! And now, we’re taking you along with us to one of the ship’s more exclusive dining locations. Atmosphere For this review, we’re heading to EnchantĂ©! This is one of the adults-only restaurants on the Disney Treasure, and it’s themed to Beauty and the Beast, with decor inspired by the lovable Lumiere. This is the ship’s most elegant dining experience, with a gourmet menu created by Michelin-starred Chef Arnaud Lallement. EnchantĂ© Reservations are required for this restaurant and can be made online before your cruise or onboard the ship. This is a premium dining offering that’s available for an additional fee and not included in your sailing. Formal or semi-formal attire is recommended for your meal. The chandelier! The restaurant space is absolutely stunning, and it would be a great dining option for celebrating a special occasion while on the ship. Menu There are three different multi-course choices for dinner at Enchante – the Passion or Potager (vegetarian) tasting me menus are $135, and the Collection — which includes more courses — is $205. We chose the Passion and Potager menus. A menu card Eats Now let’s dig into the eats! To start our meal, we had a course of three different canapes. From left to right in the photo below, we first had the beef tartare with parmesan crisp and jellied beef consummĂ©. We really liked this one, but it wasn’t perfect because the beef was very quickly overwhelmed by the parmesan. The jelly doesn’t quite come through texturally or flavor-wise. We think this would’ve been slightly improved by a higher salt level. Next was the croquette, which had an incredible gruyere flavor with a kick of spice. There was some nice acidity from the vinegar as well. Delicious! On the right is the sea bream tartare in a wonton wrapper. It’s a very light bite with a somewhat bland, not unpleasant fishy flavor. Nothing really to write home about. Canapes For our beverage, we ordered the Taittinger Champagne. It had dry, crisp, grassy notes, with no notes of citrus. A nice pairing for the meal! Notice the stamp on this bottle — it was made specially for the Inaugura cruises of the Disney Treasure. Our champagne for the evening Next up was the bread course, which was PHENOMENAL. This comes with the crusty bread that you would expect in a French restaurant, but the butter is really the star. It’s creamy and amazing and you salt it yourself to get that perfect balance of flavor. TBH, we could’ve stopped right here and been happy with just champagne, bread, and butter. If butter could be life-changing, this butter would be it. Bread and butter Now, it’s time for the first course, officially! We started with leeks braised in a vegetable stock along with an egg yolk wrapped filled with egg yolk foam and topped with freshly grated egg yolk. It’s finished off with champagne cream foam. We really loved this! We expected it to be cold, but it’s served warm, and the leeks are perfectly cooked and full of flavor with the vegetable broth. It’s savory and delightful and somehow tastes rich even though it’s veggies. The egg yolk tubes are so strange but so so delicious. This tastes like the first bite of egg yolk when you get a perfect poached egg. The champagne foam is hardly detectable, but does add an exciting note to a complex dish. This was overall very French but super modern at the same time. Kicking off the first course! The next dish in this course was house-made potato gnocchi glazed in creme fraiche with freshly-grated parmesan and a parm sauce. The gnocchi were perfectly light and fluffy with a texture that reminded us of mashed potatoes. They’re well-seasoned on their own but the addition of the grated cheese added a rich and sharp flavor you wouldn’t get from the gnocchi alone. This definitely had comfort food vibes! House-made potato gnocchi We also got the pan-seared halibut and “all about carrot.” This comes with carrot and harissa sauce, and carrots puffed up in the oven with clarified butter and finished with a yellow wine sauce. The carrot dish here is incredibly good and thoroughly demonstrates the earthy sweetness of the vegetable. The halibut is cooked well, and the carrot-harissa paste on the plate adds so much zing and flavor. Note — this dish was modified because one of our diners has a shellfish allergy. Pan-seared Halibut The next item we tried was the All About Onion, which is pearl onions filled with a pickled onion puree, other onions dipped in brown butter and seared, with a yellow wine sauce. We noticed during our meal that the chef tends to play with one ingredient, and this dish is a great example of that — you really get to taste the full spectrum of onion. The onion puree was mellow and zingy from being pickled, and the onion herb paste was delightfully sharp. The seared onions had an incredible bite to them, and they were up there with some of the best things we’ve ever eaten. The wine sauce is packed with flavor because of the reduction. This was a real standout! All About Onion Next was the poached chicken with watercress coulis, ravioli with Kalamata olives, pork fat, and black trumpet mushroom, plus hazelnut and parmesan condiment and a chicken curry sauce. This chicken was amazingly tender and well-seasoned just on its own. No knife needed. The ravioli’s genius lies in mixing pork fat into the filling — olives and mushrooms needed something to tie them together and adding the fat makes this a softer filling, with flavor that balances out the salty, earthy taste of the olives and mushrooms. The watercress didn’t add much overall, but the hazelnut and parmesan condiment added some sweet and salty flavor. Poached Chicken with Watercress Coulis Last in this course, we had the beet root ravioli with a beet root puree, petite turnips, freshly grated beet root, horseradish cream, and tio pepe emulsion. Beet Root Ravioli Next up was the cheese course! At Enchante, the server brings out a cheese cart, and you can make your own selections. There were several different options availalbe. First was the comte, which was a semi-hard cow’s milk cheese. The Mimolette comes from Lille, France and has an orange color from annatto seed with a cow’s milk base. That was the hardest cheese we’d ever experienced, and our server struggled to cut it away from the rind. It had a nutty flavor similar to sharp cheddar. The brie on the plate is made near Paris and was soft and buttery with a slight nod to the earthier flavors that brie takes on as it ages. We really liked pairing it with the fig jam. The triple cream was our least favorite cheese on the plate. It has a high fat content that kind of coats your mouth when eaten, and it’s almost TOO creamy. Pairing it with a bit of honeycomb did help cut the heavy dairy taste of this one. Last but not least is the roquefort. We were able to request either a stronger or milder version of this cheese, and we choose the stronger option. This sheep’s milk cheese was salty and sharp, and we ate EVERY bite. Cheese course To wrap up our meal, the waiter donned white gl0ves to serve a surprise petit fours course, which came out of a stunning Lumiere-adorned box! With this course, we weren’t given plates, but instead encouraged to enjoy these items as finger foods. First is the chocolate bon bon filled with pear and salted caramel — this was a delicious bite that was not as chocolatey as we initially expected. The burnt flavor of the salted caramel shined through here. The shortbread biscuit with lemon confit was made with a delightfully soft biscuit on the bottom. The lemon confit was bright in both appearance and taste, and even though this wasn’t very sweet, it was quite satisfying. The Guinness crĂšme brĂ»lĂ©e we love love loved! This version has the slightly bitter burnt sugar taste of the crĂšme brĂ»lĂ©e melding with the caramel notes of the beer. For a playful addition to a serious meal, we had the strawberry lychee fruit roll up. Chef Arnaud really plays with jelly textures here and it was flavorful and fun to eat. Then, there were the mini pavlovas with meringue, strawberry, and a whipped vanilla ganache. We were quite full at this point, but these were SO good that we had to eat two. The meringue and whipped ganache textures were light, airy and perfectly balanced. With the strawberry adding a ton for flavor it was basically the most elevated strawberry shortcake we’ve ever encountered Petit Fours Course Served alongside the petit fours was the tartelette with mango, pineapple, coconut, and passion fruit. This was over-the-top fruity in a really good way! A problem you often run into with tarts is a really dense shell that’s hard to eat with delicate fillings, but this one was not like that. The pastry was sturdy, but soft enough to eat without detracting from the soft layers inside. Pretty and quite delicious. Inside the tartelette That’s a wrap on the meal! How’d it stack up? Overall In the end, this was one of the most spectacular meals we’ve had in a Disney restaurant! The experience is truly incredible, and you can see that there’s a lot of care put into the creation of the menu and the creativity behind the presentation. Our table The flavors were truly spectacular and unique, and we would definitely try this again if we had a special occasion to celebrate or just wanted to experience a truly phenomenal dining experience. Because food on a cruise is included, the extra fee you pay here is deeply discounted from what you would expect to pay for this experience on land — where we speculate this meal would cost $250-$400 per person. This might not be for you if you don’t want to spend the extra money or time — keep in mind that a multi-course meal like this will take 2-3 hours. It’s a specia experience we recommend you try at least once, though! Thanks for coming along with us to EnchantĂ©! We’ll keep you updated with more info from the Disney Treasure. 10. Happy New Year! New Year’s Eve Fireworks The Holiday season is one of the busiest at Walt Disney World, with events including Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, Jollywood Nights, and EPCOT’s International Festival of the Holidays (including performances of the Candlelight Processional) drawing in huge crowds. Of course, the Holiday season culminates on New Year’s Day! We headed into Magic Kingdom on the first day of 2025 to see what the crowds were looking like. As we entered the Magic Kingdom on New Year’s Day, we found early crowds to be not as bad as we expected. New Year’s Day Crowds After checking out Main Street, we went to Adventureland and the crowds were decent. Adventureland Unfortunately, Pirates of the Caribbean was closed. We went to check the My Disney Experience app and saw that Space Mountain was also temporarily down. Pirates of the Caribbean When we went into Frontierland, we were shocked to see that Big Thunder Mountain Railroad only had a 45-minute wait. This is shocking for two reasons, the first being that it is New Year’s Day, and the second being that the attraction is about to close on January 6th and won’t re-open until 2026. Big Thunder was only a 45-minute wait! Up next, we headed into Tomorrowland, and we were happy to see that Space Mountain open again. Just a little after noon, all rides in the park were back up and operating. Space Mountain re-opened Another look at some of the crowds in Tomorrowland. Tomorrowland Crowds Overall, we were pleasantly surprised by the crowds at Magic Kingdom, as wait times were much lower than we expected, especially when compared to New Year’s Eve the night before. 11. The holiday season is one of the busiest times of the year at Disney World. New Year’s Eve 2024 Disney World knows how to celebrate, and that is why so many people choose to ring in the New Year at the Most Magical Place on Earth. Last night, Disney World welcomed 2025 with DJs, dance parties, and fireworks, which drew huge crowds to the parks. With crowds comes longer wait times for attractions, and since there are so many people trying to ride these attractions, it can make wait times and crowds even worse when rides temporarily close. We were shocked by the number of attractions that were temporarily down on New Year’s Day 2025 at Disney World. Disney World must have been tired from all the celebrating on New Year’s Eve because it was a rough morning as three attractions were closed by 9:15AM. In EPCOT, the Seas with Nemo and Freinds was temporarily closed, and in Hollywood Studios, Rock ‘n’ Rollercoaster starring Aerosmith was also closed. In Magic Kingdom, one of its most popular attractions, Space Mountain, was closed as well. Space Mountain Not too long after its temporary closure, Rock ‘n’ Rollercoaster got it together and opened, and soon after, The Seas with Nemo and Friends was also back up and running. Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster As if Magic Kingdom was not struggling enough, by 10:25AM, both Space Mountain and Pirates of the Caribbean were down. Pirates of the Caribbean While it may not be the most popular ride in the park, TriceraTop Spin has less than two weeks of operation left before it closes as part of the phase one closure of DinoLand to make way for the new Tropical Americas-themed land, Pueblo Esperanza. Those looking to take one last spin on the attraction may have been disappointed to see that the ride went down around 10:50AM today. TriceraTop Spin EPCOT saw another ride closure at around 11:15AM as Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure went down. This attraction is super popular as it opened at the end of 2021 and often has high wait times. Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure Just a little after noon, all attractions were back up and running! New Year’s Day crowds in Magic Kingdom It can be a bummer when attractions go down, especially on busy days like New Year’s Day. Remember to pack your patience and set expectations that you may not be able to ride everything you wanted to due to long wait times. But hey, a day at Disney World is better than a day at home! New Attractions In 2025, we will see several new attractions coming to Disney World this will change where you will be spending your time in the parks. You will want to plan on staying at Magic Kingdom at night to catch the new parade offering will be known as Disney Starlight: Dream the Night Away. ©Disney We will also see a new villain show: Unfairly Ever After open at Disney’s Hollywood Studios in summer 2025. Also at Hollywood Studios, “The Little Mermaid – A Musical Adventure” will reopen after an extended closure in 2020. We also are getting Zootopia: Better Zoogether — a new show coming to the Tree of Life at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. ©Disney Ride it One Last Time You’ve probably heard that some of its classic attractions are set to close their doors permanently, and if these are some of your favorites, you should make time to say goodbye to them. Here’s what’s on the chopping block: DINOSAUR and It’s Tough To Be A Bug at Animal Kingdom Rivers of America and Tom Sawyer Island at Magic Kingdom Muppet*Vision 3D at Hollywood Studios Dinosaur Take photos in front of these attractions and bring tissues because, after this year, they will be gone! We love The Muppets! Down for Refurbishment There are a few attractions that will be closed for refurbishment during 2025: Big Thunder Mountain (From January 6th for a year) Astro Orbitor (January 13th until Summer 2025) Hall of Presidents (January 20th with no end date) Test Track (until late summer 2025) Gran Fiesta Tour (January 13th until March) Kali River Rapids (January 6th for a few months) Test Track If these are some of your must-dos, go ahead and plan to use that time you would have used to ride it and do something you’ve never done before! Big Thunder Mountain Railroad Construction With the new exciting lands coming to both Magic Kingdom and Disney’s Animal Kingdom, we can expect to see some construction walls coming up in 2025. Cars Land is coming to Magic Kingdom and will be located where Rivers of America is so we expect to have a lot of construction here. This could cause some changes with locations available to stand for the parade, especially in Frontierland. ‘Cars’ area in Magic Kingdom ©Disney The Tropical Americas aka Pueblo Esperanza is taking over Dinoland U.S.A. so we will be seeing some walking paths changed here. Since Dinosaur is staying open through 2025, only part of Dinoland will be blocked off. @Disney We also have Muppets Courtyard is becoming Monsters, Inc. Land in Hollywood Studios. While we don’t have a timeline on this, we might see some walls go up here. ©Disney New Lounges We have two new lounges opening up in 2025. If you want to hit these new spots, you might want to prioritize visiting and carving out time in the parks to do so. This could mean sacrificing a few rides or a show to make time for these. We have a new Spaceship Earth lounge opening in EPCOT before the Summer of 2025. ©Disney We also have the Pirates of the Caribbean tavern opening in late 2025. We are expecting this tavern to be a very popular place so you will want to plan accordingly if you are interested in grabbing a drink here. ©Disney Water Park Perk There is a NEW perk for those staying at Disney World hotels. On the day you check-in, you’ll be able to get a FREE ticket for your entire party to one of Disney World’s two water parks, Blizzard Beach or Typhoon Lagoon (whichever one is open at the time). These tickets generally run around $70 per person per day, so that’s a pretty sweet perk. Instead of heading straight to the parks or Disney Springs, you could be hitting the water slides. 13. It is officially 2025, which means Disney World’s newest hotel perk has finally debuted! Blizzard Beach It has been a long time coming, but those with upcoming 2025 Disney World vacations can take advantage of a brand new free water park perk! Here is everything you need to know! There are a lot of benefits when choosing to stay at a Disney World hotel during your vacation. Besides being closer to all the magic that Disney World has to offer, hotel guests can take free transportation all around the property, including monorails, the Skyliner, buses, and watercraft. Plus, all hotel guests, regardless of whether they choose to stay at a Value, Moderate, or Deluxe Resort, can participate in Early Theme Park Entry, which gets you into the parks 30 minutes before the general public. Another huge benefit is that Disney World hotel guests can purchase and book their Lightning Lane selections seven days prior to their arrival, whereas everyone else can only book three days in advance. Disney’s Pop Century Resort And now, a brand new hotel perk is available for those with Disney World hotel reservations in 2025! On your day of check-in, you and the party linked to your hotel reservation will each receive FREE admission to one of Disney World’s water parks! Typhoon Lagoon While this perk is a great way to wait for your room to be ready, as check-in is typically not until 4PM at Disney World hotels, we will warn you that there is a downside to this perk. Disney states in there that tickets are based on availability, which means that if the park is closed for refurbishment or cold weather, you may not be able to use this perk. It is also important to note that the tickets are non-transferable. Typhoon Lagoon Both water parks also have annual refurbishments, but Disney says they will continue to be staggered. The Disney World website says, “Guests should be able to enjoy at least one water park experience year-round.” If you choose not to use this perk, you do not get anything in exchange for not going to the water parks. Now, let’s get into how you can use this free perk! Summit Plummet at Blizzard Beach The perk will automatically be loaded into your My Disney Experience account, and when you scan into the water park, it will be able to recognize your reservation. The ticket will show up under “Tickets and Passes” in the My Disney Experience app and is called “Resort Guest Water Park Arrival Day Benefit.” ©Disney Remember, this perk is only good on your check-in day. You do not need to be checked into your room for the perk to be recognized. The only requirement is that your reservation and everyone staying in your hotel room be properly linked through your My Disney Experience account. ©Disney If you plan to use this perk, we suggest arriving at Disney World earlier in the day, as the water parks tend to close earlier than the theme parks, especially during the winter season. We also suggest packing a bag with your swim gear all ready to go so that way you can head to the water park as soon as you drop off your luggage at your resort with Bell Services if you choose to do so. You do not have to worry about packing towels, as towels are complimentary for Disney World resort guests. Blizzard Beach 2025 is gearing up to be a huge year at Disney World as many more new and exciting experiences are set to debut across the resorts and parks, so make sure to continue to follow along with Disney Food Blog to stay up to date on all the latest Disney news! 14. Can you believe it is 2025? Magic Kingdom While there might be a lot going on in the Disney World parks this year with new attractions coming, there is something even bigger happening just down the road. We are sure you’ve heard about the new theme park coming to town and we are thinking people will be ditching Disney World and looking to it instead, especially Gen Z. Epic Universe will consist of 5 different lands and numerous new attractions. The new park will open on May 22nd, 2025 and many fans have already got their tickets, and others are planning trips in the new year already. With so much excitement happening across town, it’s very likely a lot of typical Disney World visitors may choose to skip out on the Disney parks in 2025 and visit Universal Orlando instead. Or they may choose to have fewer days at Disney World so they can explore Epic Universe. ©Universal This is especially true because as it stands now, single-day tickets to Epic Universe are not yet available to the general public (although they will be available before the park opens, according to Universal), so families need to book multi-day tickets or tickets + hotel packages to confirm they’ll be able to visit for their preferred dates in 2025. But why will this appeal to Gen Z directly? ©Universal Dark Universe Dark Universe is basically like Halloween Horror Nights all. year. round! It seems like this monstrous land will bring an element of scare to the theme parks, unlike anything Disney does. Even when Villains Land is open at Magic Kingdom, many years down the road, it will not be the same level of fear that you will feel here at Epic. ©Universal We are getting two rides in this land that are already looking amazing to us and we know Gen Z loves some scares. This feels like the perfect land to get that thrill in. Dark Universe Concept Art ©Universal Less Planning In 2025, it can take a LOT of planning to have a successful Disney World trip. You will need to book your dining reservations and your Lightning Lanes in advance of your vacation. You will probably want to learn how to navigate the MyDisney app as it will be your key and guide to everything you do. That can be draining and Gen Z is looking for something simpler. Epic Universe At Universal Orlando, there is a lot less planning ahead. If you want to use their version of “skip the line system”, Express Pass, you do not need to preplan it or make reservations in advance. You can simply walk up to an attraction that offers it — no scheduled time ranges, unlike Disney World. ©Universal — Ministry of Magic Concept Art Thrill Rides There is one thing Universal just has more of, thrill rides and Epic is only adding more to those. For example, Starfall Racers will be located in Celestial Park and looks like a classically fun rollercoaster. ©Universal We will see even more attractions with characters from Harry Potter, Super Nintendo, and How to Train Your Dragon. It looks like there are plenty of rides for us to get our thrill in here. ©Universal We are keeping an eye out as more news for Epic Universe comes out. Be sure to follow DFB for more! 16. There are some great perks that Disney World offers to guests staying at their hotels. Grand Floridian Resort If you are staying on Disney property you get a 30-minute early entry to all of the parks. If you want to purchase Lightning Lanes and make ride reservations in advance, hotel guests get to do that 7 days out from check-in versus just 3 days out for non-resort guests. In 2025 there’s a big perk coming for resort guests and it includes 2 free tickets! Disney World has announced that in 2025, those staying at Disney Resorts (including DVC properties) will get a FREE park ticket to the water parks on their arrival day. You’ll be able to use this perk at either Blizzard Beach Water Park or Typhoon Lagoon Water Park and only on your check-in day. To use this benefit, all visitors hoping to get into the water parks with complimentary admission MUST be listed on the hotel reservation. Wilderness Lodge Sounds pretty great huh? Free water park tickets! Well, Disney also states in there that they are based on availability, meaning if the park is closed for refurbishment or cold weather, you could be out of luck. The tickets are nontransferable. Blizzard Beach Disney also notes that both water parks have annual refurbishments, but they will continue to be staggered. The website says, “Guests should be able to enjoy at least one water park experience year-round.” You also do not get anything for not using the tickets, like a credit toward your vacation or a Disney gift card. Summit Plummet at Blizzard Beach If both water parks are closed due to weather, this might leave folks disappointed, especially if they plan to arrive early to take advantage of the perk. If you book an early flight or arrive early at your hotel and find out the parks are closed, keep in mind your room might not be ready yet for you to relax in. If you are traveling in the colder months or during hurricane season, you might want to manage expectations and keep an eye on the weather. Typhoon Lagoon Of course, if you do arrive early and can’t take advantage of the perk, you can always relax at the hotel instead. Bell services can even hold your luggage for you! You can also take a trip over to Disney Springs for shopping or dining. For more Disney stories and news, be sure to follow DFB! 18. It’s cookie time! Mele Kalikimaka 2024 Like one of our favorite Muppets, we think one of the many key ingredients – – see what we did there – – to an A+ meal is a cookie dessert. And, as anyone who’s been to Disney World knows, the resort features a large assortment of cookies, with something for every palette. Today, we’re looking at one of our favorite Disney World cookies, and how you can make it at home! The Coffee Mocha Cookie from the Mele Kalikimaka Holiday Kitchen booth is one of our favorite snacks at EPCOT’s International Festival of the Holidays. The following recipe would make 18-20 of the coffee-infused buttercream, cocoa nibs, and chocolate-covered espresso bean-topped cookies. Coffee Mocha Cookie First up, the ingredients. To make a batch of Coffee Mocha Cookies, you’ll need the following: Cookies 2 3/4 cups 1:1 gluten-free flour 3 tablespoons cocoa powder 2 tablespoons instant coffee 1 teaspoon cream of tartar 1 teaspoon baking soda 1/8 teaspoon salt 1 1/2 cups butter, room temperature 2 cups sugar 4 eggs 1 1/2 tablespoons coffee extract 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract Buttercream: 1 cup butter, at room temperature 3 cups powdered sugar 4 tablespoons coffee extract 1 tablespoon vanilla extract Toppings: 60 chocolate-covered espresso beans 1/4 cup grated cocoa nibs Coffee Mocha Cookie Cooking Instructions for the Cookies: Preheat oven to 325°F. Line 2 baking sheets with silicone mat or parchment paper. Mix gluten-free flour, cocoa powder, instant coffee, cream of tartar, baking soda, and salt together in a medium-sized mixing bowl. Cream butter and sugar in the bowl with an electric mixer until fluffy. Add half of gluten-free flour mixture and beat on low speed until incorporated. Add eggs, coffee extract, and vanilla extract and mix on low speed until smooth. While mixer is on low speed, add remaining flour and beat for 1-2 minutes until fully mixed. Cover and chill dough in refrigerator for 30 minutes. Use a 1/4 cup scoop to shape cookie dough into balls. Place 6 cookies on each prepared baking sheet and gently flatten to 3/4-inch thickness. Bake for 10-12 minutes until cookie tops just begin to crack, but center remains slightly soft. Cool on pan for 5 minutes, then transfer to wire racks until room temperature. Repeat with remaining dough until all cookies are complete. Cooking Instructions for Buttercream: Place butter in the bowl of an electric mixer and beat on high speed until there are no lumps. Add half of the powdered sugar and beat on medium speed until combined. Add remaining powdered sugar and beat on medium speed until combined. Increase speed to high and beat until fluffy. Add coffee and vanilla extracts and beat until fully incorporated. Cover and refrigerate until ready to serve. When ready to serve, spread 1-2 tablespoons of coffee buttercream on top of each cooled cookie then add 3 chocolate-covered espresso beans and desired amount of grated cocoa nibs to the top of each cookie. Coffee Mocha Cookie Once the cookies are prepared, they make a perfect Holiday party snack

  19. It is time to ring in the New Year! New Year’s Eve It is hard to believe that 2024 has come and gone, and we are hours away from welcoming 2025! There is so much to look forward to in the New Year, and Disney knows how to celebrate! We are in the parks today checking out the crowd levels ahead of tonight’s big celebrations in EPCOT and Magic Kingdom. If you are planning on visiting the parks tonight or are watching from home, both EPCOT and Magic Kingdom will be ringing in the New Year with DJs and fireworks; just like in previous years, we expect the parks to be crowded. Last year’s fireworks When we arrived at the parks this New Year’s Eve, it was a tale of two crowds. In fact, single tickets for the park were back on sale and the lines to get into EPCOT were actually relatively low, but once we got in the park crowds were high. Wow Even the dependable people-eater Spaceship Earth had a wait hovering in the 65-minute range! Lines As of writing, the highest wait time in EPCOT is Frozen Ever After at 140 minutes — but the ride did have some down time today which might be another reason for the really high wait. The lowest wait time is Living with the Land at just 20 minutes. So while the crowds are a high, not all of the wait times are mega crazy!! There is so much to look forward to in the New Year at Disney World, and we will be here making sure to keep you up to date on all the latest Disney news, so make sure to stick around! 17 MAJOR Changes Coming to Disney World in 2025 Join the DFB Newsletter to get all the breaking news right in your inbox! 20. Magic Kingdom is about to go through some serious changes. Magic Kingdom To start off, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad will be closed for at least a year for an update. Tom Sawyer Island and Rivers of America are also about to be completely reimagined into a new Cars expansion in Frontierland. But wait
there’s more! That’s because a new Villains-themed land is coming to the area behind Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. Magic Kingdom is even getting a new nighttime parade! In the meantime, let’s just say Magic Kingdom is going to look VERY different over the next few years. We’ve looked at some maps and figured out what Magic Kingdom is going to look like during some of these changes. So first, let’s take a look at the new nighttime parade, Disney Starlight, which is scheduled to debut in summer 2025. Based on other Magic Kingdom parades, we can estimate that the parade route will be the same one used for existing parades. So here’s what we think the route will look like. Potential route for Disney Starlight parade Now, if it does keep to this route, we can recommend some great viewing locations. We usually stake out a spot in either Frontierland or Liberty Square, preferably on the Country Bear Jamboree, Liberty Tree Tavern, or Ye Olde Christmas Shoppe side of the route. The parade starts in Frontierland, so if you view it there, you’ll be among the first to see it. Then, if you want to watch it again, make your way to Main Street, U.S.A. because YOLO! ©Disney Our second map shows just how big of an area is going to be taken over by the Cars expansion. It’s a HUGE area! The Cars area is going to take up a LOT of space in Magic Kingdom For comparison, here’s a map of Magic Kingdom from the My Disney Experience app without all that area filled in with the Cars expansion. Yes, it’s a HUGE area. ©Disney To get an idea of just how big this new expansion will be, here’s the concept art Disney released showing the area and its two new attractions. ©Disney We also created a third map predicting where we think the construction walls for this project will be (hint: it’s most of Frontierland). We think we might even see Big Thunder Mountain Railroad blocked off since it will also be under construction for at least a year. We also think they might block off the area by Haunted Mansion to keep prying eyes from seeing any of the constructon progress. Granted, this is our best guess, but we think it could be fairly accurate. Where construction walls might go If this IS accurate, at least the construction walls might not create TOO much of a situation where you have to do a lot of backtracking to get around the park. A lot of the area that will be under construction is currently mostly water, so that makes a difference. We’ll be keeping an eye out for updates on these projects, so stay tuned to DFB for more. 21. If you’re heading to Disney World in 2025, you may be a little overwhelmed with everything there is to plan. Big Thunder Mountain Railroad However, while you’re thinking of when to book your trip, what to pack, and how many days to spend exploring the parks, we also need to warn you that there are some cringey things we’ve seen guests do that we are 100% BEGGING for you to not repeat when you’re visiting the parks in 2025. Changing Your Child Anywhere Near Food We completely understand that sometimes desperate times call for desperate measures and you have to stop on a bench or somewhere less ideal to change your kiddo who may had a diaper blowout, spilled something nasty all over themselves, etc. However, if you can’t make it to a restroom or the baby care center to change them, PLEASE make sure you are nowhere near food or an dining location. Pinocchio Village Haus Many restaurants in Disney World have outdoor seating locations, and this is NOT a good place to change your child. So much food has been flying around this area, it’s just not sanitary for you, your child, or anyone who comes after you. Just take a few steps away out of the dining area to get a little further away from food, or if you are trying to find the closest bathroom, you can also always search on your My Disney Experience App for the closest one to you AND get directions to it! Being Rude to Cast Members We completely understand that sometimes your trip gets extremely stressful. Something doesn’t go your way, you missed a dining reservation or virtual queue window — the possibilities are endless. However, it is NEVER okay to yell or be rude in any way to a Cast Member. Merchandise Cast Member! Cast Members make the magic, and oftentimes they can help you fix an issue you may be having. Whether that’s helping explain to you how you can fix the issue, or making some magic for you to improve the situation, Cast Members will often do whatever they can to help. However, never EXPECT a Cast Member to go above and beyond for you, and don’t get upset with them if they can’t magically fix every single thing. Many times the issue you’ve run into is your own doing (sorry if that’s harsh, but it’s true), and Disney is often happy to help you fix it, but certainly not if you’re being a jerk! Not Keeping An Eye on Your Kids Disney World is BIG, LOUD, and extremely overstimulating for almost every single person who walks through it. With that being said, it’s extremely important for you to keep an eye on your kids, especially your young kids, all throughout the day. For one, it can be very dangerous for kids to wander around on their own (Disney World is typically extremely safe, but people can be dangerous anywhere), but also, kids sometimes have a tendency to break some rules without realizing they’re doing it. Magic Kingdom Crowds Without parents nearby, kids may get themselves hurt climbing on items they’re not supposed to, and if you’re not near them to correct them or catch them when they fall, it could get bad really fast. Not to mention that if you’re in line and your kids are play fighting and bumping into people in front or behind you, that’s just not fair to the other guests around you. Stopping in the Middle of Walkways It’s hard sometimes to remember how many other people and families are on vacation the same time you are, and we don’t mean that in a sarcastic way! When you’re so focused on where you’re going and what your next move is, it’s hard to think about how others around you are doing the same thing. However, the more you can avoid stopping in the middle of public walkways to wait for your group/regroup/to check your phone would be fantastic. Be aware of your surroundings in crowds and lines! This blocks the flow of traffic for everyone, especially those using ECVs or wheelchairs, and as ECVs can’t stop on a dime, they can run into other people and cause some pretty serious injuries. To avoid these issues, it’s best to pull over to the side of the pathway to speak with your group/check your phone. Even if you think you’ll only be paused for a second, a second is enough to cause issues for everyone behind you! 22. Is 2025 the year of cruising for you? If so, we’re here for it and want to help you plan your vacation to be the best it can be. ©Disney While you may not realize it, there are better times to sail with Disney Cruise Line than others, but for different reasons! Some seasons have lower crowds, others have better weather, so how can you decide what’s best for you? We’ve broken down the absolute BEST times to sail and why below to help you plan your trip down to a T! Keep in mind that prices do change for Disney Cruise Line depending on what season you’re traveling, especially during the warmer months. We won’t be talking a ton about price in this breakdown otherwise, but just keep that in mind when you’re planning your trip. Disney Wonder Winter While winter may seem like the LAST choice for sailing on a cruise, the benefits often far outweigh the con of it being colder outside. However, keep in mind that many cruise destinations are on the southern hemisphere, meaning that while your port of call may be chilly, once you’re at your destination(s), things have warmed up, and it may actually be a more pleasant temperature than summer would be, as sometimes summer can be TOO hot. Worlds of Marvel on the Disney Wish Additionally, because of the chillier weather and needing to bring layers, winter cruises are often MUCH less crowded than spring and summer cruises. Folks are getting back to their jobs and classrooms following the holiday season in the winter, but Hawaii’s tourism season does tend to pick up around the beginning of the year, so if your cruise is taking you to the South Pacific, just prepare for slightly heavier crowds on land! Hyperspace Lounge on Disney Wish If you’re not into the colder season, don’t worry, there are other options! Summer While summer will be the busiest time for cruising, so not the best when it comes to cruising with fewer crowds, but you will find that there’s a LOT more availability when it comes to booking your cruise. For Disney Cruise Line, you’ll especially find more that travel to Disney’s private islands, Castaway Cay or Lookout Cay (and sometimes both!), but some of these cruises will also take you to far away places you’ve never thought to explore before! Disney Wish And if you’re looking for those 80-90 degree temperatures, this is certainly the time to travel! However, occasional rainfall is certainly still possible, especially in the Bahamas where many of these cruises travel to. Be sure to check out what port activities Disney Cruise Line is offering at your different ports of call so you don’t spend the whole day just wandering around (especially if you’re NOT at Castaway Cay or Lookout Cay) — really take advantage of these adventures in a safe and reliable way! Disney’s Private Island Castaway Cay However, hurricane Season for the Carribeans and Bahamas runs from June to November, with late August to early September usually being when you’re gonna see the PEAK of that hurricane activity, so this is also something to keep in mind. Now, worst comes to worst, you can’t participate in a port of call and you get a full refund from Disney (as long as you booked it through them!), or the cruise as a whole if a hurricane does happen, and then you can use that money towards another cruise or port of call in the future! Really Think About What Works Best For YOU What’s most important here is deciding what works best for YOU and your family, and remembering why you wanted to cruise in the first place. For example, if you’re really looking forward to tanning and swimming in cool water on a hot summer day, then cruising in the winter isn’t for you. On the other hand, if you’re wanting lower crowds to more comfortable enjoy the ship’s amenities or want to do more activities at your ports of call that are indoors, then winter may be a good fit. Mickey and Goofy at Castaway Cay It’s also important to keep in mind why you’re choosing a Disney Cruise over a Disney World vacation. Disney Cruise Line has so many offerings for kids, teens, and adults to safely do individually, it’s sometimes hard to all meet up before bedtime, whereas in Disney World it’s a lot easier to spend time all together (and often times actually harder to split up, though it is possible!). Do you want to travel with your family and make memories in new locations you may never have been to otherwise (or where you don’t have to do a ton of the planning yourself)? Then a Disney Cruise may be a fantastic fit! The Disney Dream It’s a big decision to decide if a Disney Cruise is best for you and your family, but that’s why we’re here — to tell you the pros and cons and help you decide if it’s a right fit for you! The answer will be different for each and every family, and that’s the beauty of individuality. 23. Dining at table service restaurants in Disney World can be fantastic, but worrying about getting reservations 60 days in advance of your trip and taking 1-2 hours out of your park day just to eat can be stressful, so it may not always be the best fit. Garden Grill Restaurant Sometimes, though, you want something a little more elevated than a quick-service meal, which leaves you at a bit of a loss. Fear not, though — there’s a middle ground that we absolutely love, and that’s Disney World lounges! Lounges are fantastic because you get the same elevated menu from table service restaurants without the time expectancy or the reservations. If you want to hit some lounges in 2025 but don’t want to spend an arm and leg for too small of plates, these are the top lounges we recommend! Jock Lindsey’s Hangar Bar (Disney Springs) Located in the heart of Disney’s shopping and dining district, you’ll find one of the most intricately themed lounges there is! Jock Lindsey’s Hangar Bar is not only home to some fantastic drinks (both alcoholic and a few non-alcoholic options) but there are some great bites to eat as well. Jock Lindsey’s Hangar Bar There’s also almost always something new you notice in this area, thanks to its Indiana Jones theming. While you’re waiting for your drink, take a look around — we promise you’ll be entertained! REVIEW: We Literally LOL’d When This Disney World Restaurant Served Our Food Nomad Lounge (Disney’s Animal Kingdom) This is easily one of our favorite spots in Disney World as a whole, especially because the seating and vibes here are immaculate. The small plates here are some of our absolute favorites, and the drinks are fantastic, too! Nomad Lounge The real stars here are the churros, which are arguably the BEST you can get in all of Disney World, but we also really love the Tiffins Bread Service and the Bangkok Chicken Wings. This Is My FAVORITE Place in Disney World, and You Probably DON’T Go There! Territory Lounge (Disney’s Wilderness Lodge) Disney’s Wilderness Lodge isn’t one of the most popular resorts out there, so Territory Lounge isn’t often very busy, leaving you with a quieter atmosphere to enjoy your time. It’s so warm and inviting, we could spend all day here if we had the time! Territory Lounge Some of the most well-known dishes here are the Artisanal Cheese and Charcuterie and Loaded Macaroni & Cheese, but there are plenty of other foods and drinks to explore as well. Enchanted Rose Lounge (Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort) The Enchanted Rose Lounge is relatively new, opening in 2019 and taking the place of Mizner’s Lounge. We love the decor here and the way it subtly hints at the live-action Beauty and the Beast without being over the top. Enchanted Rose However, we don’t recommend visiting before 5PM because the dining options are very limited. After that, though, when the heartier options are available, we definitely say to give it a try! Our Honest Opinions on the Enchanted Rose Lounge in Disney World Hollywood Brown Derby Lounge (Disney’s Hollywood Studios) One of our favorite spots in Disney’s Hollywood Studios is the Hollywood Brown Derby, but if you don’t have time for that table service meal, the lounge will get you the majority of that same menu in a much shorter amount of time. Hollywood Brown Derby Lounge There isn’t a lot of seating here, we’ll be honest, but it’s totally worth it to us to not have to worry about getting a reservation weeks in advance and still get that iconic Our Famous Cobb Salad that we love so much. REVIEW: We Finally Found an Easy Way To Get the Best Meal in Disney’s Hollywood Studios Scat Cat’s Club (Disney’s Port Orleans Resort — French Quarter) When you think of French Quarter, you likely think of beignets right away, and we GET IT! That’s only one of the reasons you’ll want to come straight to Scat Cat’s Club. Scat Cat’s Club Scat Cat’s Club offers up some truly amazing dishes to dine on, as well as drinks that will appease almost anybody. Not to mention that you can catch live music on many nights, which is amazing for really bringing the atmosphere to life. REVIEW: This Disney World Restaurant BETRAYED Us
But It Might Still Be Worth a Visit Tambu Lounge (Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort) There are a lot of great dining options at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, but again, if you’re not looking for a sit-down meal, Tambu Lounge is the way to go since it’s attached to ‘Ohana! Tambu Lounge Now, the trick here is that some of the most iconic offerings from the ‘Ohana menu (the ‘Ohana Noodles and Bread Pudding) aren’t technically on the menu, but if you ask nicely, you MAY be able to snag them without the reservation needed for the restaurant! However, there are plenty of other dishes and drinks on the menu, too, that are totally worth it to try. We Still LOVE This ‘Ohana Hack at Disney World, Even Though It’s Kind of a Rip-off Steakhouse 71 Lounge (Disney’s Contemporary Resort) Lastly, we have the lounge attached to Steakhouse 71, one of the most popular Disney World hotel restaurants, which, similar to other lounges, serves a few items from the regular menu — including the fantastic Steakhouse 71 Burger! Steakhouse 71 Lounge Now, the lounge is almost hidden from sight behind the host’s stand, so it’s often not very busy at all! That also means there’s not a lot of seating, but hey, we’ll take it. It’s also open from noon to 11PM each night, meaning it’s a great place to go for a later meal after a long park day. 24. Plastic Cheese is basically liquid gold. Magic Kingdom Here at Disney Food Blog, we are passionate about all things Disney foods. We spend every day trying the best snacks, meals, and hacks to make sure what you spend your money on in the theme parks is truly worth it! One way we know we might be too obsessed? We just realized you can make one of our favorite snacks at home. Plastic Cheese is pretty much a staple here at DisneyFoodBlog. It’s a tried and true AJ favorite that our entire team will rally behind her over because it really does make everything so much better. REAL plastic cheese If you don’t know what we mean by plastic cheese, it’s the golden, plastic-looking cheese that you get with your corn dog nuggets and your Mickey pretzels. We like to test it on pretty much everything. Crunchy Corn Dog Nuggets with Cheesy Goodness This cheese has slowly made its way through Disney World and you can even find it at spots like Backlot Express in Hollywood Studios. As Disney dining tends to change, plastic cheese is one of the only things that has remained untouched. Well, we just discovered we can bring our love for plastic cheese home! Look at that golden sauce! If you’re anything like us, we’ve tried to melt cheese down before and it never looks quite as good as what Disney makes and we finally discovered why! We were missing a key ingredient of sodium citrate. I mean, how simple is that! Now that might sound a little scary but it’s just because it’s unfamiliar. You can make it at home or even buy it in stores. ©Amazon Sodium citrate is essentially just a food additive that you can find in a lot of different foods to help make it silky and melty. It’s even in Velveeta! The sodium citrate just helps prevent the cheese from becoming a solid which makes it nice and liquidy even as the cheese begins to heat up. Is liquidy even a word? Well, it is now. Plastic cheese, yum! What we love about this is we can bring some of our favorite Disney magic home with us and we learned a bit of science today, too! You can just call us EPCOT thanks to all of this edutainment. (Educational entertainment in case you’re a bit confused.) Corn dog nugget with lots of plastic cheese!
