Today marks 55 years since the release of the Disney animated classic, “Sleeping Beauty.” The timeless tale of Princess Aurora has been immortalized here at Disneyland park in the form of the park’s icon, Sleeping Beauty Castle. Designed by Disney Legend Herb Ryman, it was inspired by a number of medieval European castles - most notably, Neuschwanstein castle in Bavaria. View the full article

"Good Luck Charlie" broke some new ground with the penultimate episode of its four-season run on the Disney Channel when on Sunday's (Jan. 26) episode, Amy ( Leigh-Allyn Baker ) and Bob ( Eric Allan Kramer ) set up a playdate for their daughter Charlie with Taylor, a little girl who has two moms, Susan and Cheryl.   18. A few months ago, we told you about a new, interactive game for Disney California Adventure park guests. Each night, before “World of Color,” guests can log on to play the Fun Wheel Challenge on their mobile devices. Competing against other park guests to match the color patterns, the winner gets to control the lights on Mickey’s Fun Wheel!   25. I’m happy to share that new Hidden Mickey pins are arriving soon to Cast Members’ lanyards at Disney Parks. For those unfamiliar with these pins, the Disney pin team distributes these pins to Cast Members to use for trading with Guests. The Hidden Mickey pin collection was first introduced at Walt Disney World Resort in 2002. Today, they have become something fun for Guests to collect or trade while visiting Disney Parks. Jeanne Lewis, merchandiser for Disney pins, recently gave me a look at the first wave of pins for 2014. This year’s collections feature familiar Disney characters and icons from Disney Parks.
