  1. Something BIG just happened in Disneyland…and we got to be there for it! The Super Bowl Parade! Now, there are some big things already happening in Disneyland, including some expansions, a new land, and a new ride. But today was the day of a rare parade. Yep, today was the annual Disney Super Bowl parade, complete with celebrities and everything! Disneyland is crowded today with football fans because last night the Seattle Seahawks beat the New England Patriots in the 2026 Super Bowl in San Francisco. Following in true Disney tradition (aka the “I’m going to Disneyland! commercial), the Super Bowl parade made its way down Main Street, U.S.A. Let the parade begin! Ahead of the players, the band marched by… The band! …the cheerleaders hyped up the crowd… Hi friends! … and some familiar Disney faces led the way! Our Disney friends! The annual Super Bowl parade happens in either Disney World or Disneyland every year, with the location decided by the host city. With the host city being San Francisco this year, it only made sense to have the parade and celebration in Disneyland. This year, the parade featured Super Bowl MVP Kenneth Walker III and Quarterback Sam Darnold. There they are! The parade began at 1:15 PM today, February 9th, and made its way through Disneyland’s parade route through Main Street, U.S.A. The tradition of Super Bowl champs saying they were going to Disney World or Disneyland dates back to 1987 with New York Giants quarterback Phil Simms. How cool is this?! This year, they also streamed the parade live! ESPN broadcast live from Main Street, U.S.A., and it included First Take with Stephen A. Smith, editions of SportsCenter, NFL Live, and a live interview with Sam Darnold. The stage was set up before the festivities began! You can see him walking to his interview after the parade here. Look at those crowds! Hey, Sam! We love getting to experience this fun and unique experience once a year in Disney World or Disneyland. Congratulations to the Seahawks on their big victory. We’ll be covering even more news from Disneyland and Disney World, so stay tuned to DFB for more. 7 Hidden Details You Can’t Miss At Disneyland DON'T DO IT ALONE! 4. If you think this is just a place at Disney World to grab cake…think again! The Cake Bake Shop Restaurant The Cake Bake Shop Restaurant at Disney’s Boardwalk Inn Resort has built a reputation as Disney World’s newest dessert destination, but some of the biggest surprises during our lunch were actually on the savory side. Let’s talk about what we ordered, what stood out, and what’s worth it. Atmosphere Walking into The Cake Bake Shop Restaurant at Disney World honestly feels like stepping into a real-life fairytale bakery — the kind you’d expect to find tucked away on a charming European street, not just a few steps from the parks. The space is bright, elegant, and completely over-the-top in the best way, with sparkling chandeliers overhead, soft pastel tones, and a dreamy, vintage-inspired aesthetic that makes it feel both cozy and grand at the same time. It’s the kind of restaurant where you immediately want to slow down, look around, and take in all the little details before you even think about the menu. Table As you move deeper inside, the dining rooms feel almost like a series of little jewelery boxes, each one beautifully styled with its own personality, but all tied together by that same whimsical, celebratory vibe. The rooms are layered with ornate touches, from decorative mirrors and floral accents to soft lighting that makes everything feel warm and a little bit magical. It doesn’t feel like a typical Disney restaurant dining room where tables are just tables. Here, the entire space feels curated, like you’re dining inside a boutique ballroom in a storybook. WOW! And even the table setup adds to the experience. The place settings feel polished and special, with pretty dishware, elegant glassware, and that “afternoon tea meets upscale dinner” kind of charm. Sitting down feels like an event in itself (whether you’re there for a full meal or just a slice of cake) because everything about the atmosphere encourages you to linger. It’s fancy without being stuffy, glamorous without feeling unwelcoming, and genuinely one of those restaurants where the ambiance is just as memorable as what you’re eating. Champagne Bar But enough about the restaurant — what’s on the menu here?! Menu The menu here feels cultured, thoughtfully curated, and distinctly restaurant-worthy. The lunch offerings lean into elevated comfort food with a global twist, blending familiar flavors with fresh, bright ingredients. Think crisp salads that are packed with texture, rich pastas that balance creaminess and brightness, and beautifully plated sandwiches that are more “chef’s creation” than quick bite. Every dish feels like it was designed to be savored, not rushed, which fits the atmosphere perfectly. Lunch menu Unlike some places where lunch feels like an afterthought before dessert, here it is a full dining experience. The menu manages to deliver dishes that are hearty enough to satisfy but refined enough to feel special. There’s a sense of playfulness in the pairings, too! A hint of Mediterranean influence here, a touch of classic American comfort there, all united with fresh produce, quality proteins, and thoughtful garnishes that elevate every plate. Dessert menu It’s the kind of lunch where you find yourself taking an extra minute to appreciate the composition of a dish, from the way the flavors layer to the way it’s presented, and then that much more excited to get to the next course: a vast array of delicious cakes and decadent desserts. Cakes There’s also a separate Children’s Menu to choose from, too! Children’s Menu And now, onto the main event — the food! Eats First up, we grabbed the Gumbo Poutine for $27. This is made with chicken and andouille gumbo, pommes frites, and cheese curds. Gumbo Poutine The gumbo poutine here is genuinely phenomenal — and we don’t say that lightly, because we eat a lot of loaded fries around Disney World. The gumbo itself is the real star. It’s rich, flavorful, and has just the right amount of spice, with a smooth, creamy gravy-like texture that works unbelievably well over fries. There’s a generous amount of chicken and sausage mixed in, too, so it actually feels hearty and substantial instead of just being fries with a drizzle on top. So savory And then you get to the cheese curds, which are huge, soft, and super melty, more creamy than squeaky, which honestly makes them even more satisfying in this context. The fries are also excellent on their own: perfectly balanced between crispy and soft, and seasoned really well with that seasoned-salt flavor that makes them addictive before you even add toppings. Overall, this was one of the best “loaded fry” appetizers we’ve had on Disney property, and we would absolutely order them again! We also grabbed the Truffle Pommes Frites for $18. These are made with fruffle oil, smoked sea salt, thyme, and Parmesan cheese, served with the restaurant’s homemade garlic aioli. Truffle Pommes Frites The truffle pommes frites feel like the elevated, sit-down restaurant version of the black garlic truffle fries you might grab at quick-service spots — familiar, but definitely leveled up. The truffle flavor itself is more subtle than you might expect, but the fries make up for it with a heavy hit of garlic and parmesan that’s incredibly satisfying. They’re savory, rich, and just really well-seasoned. With the dip The real standout here is the garlic aioli on the side. It’s creamy, smooth, intensely garlicky in the best way, and honestly, the kind of sauce you want to bottle up and put on every form of potato imaginable. While our reporter who tasted these dishes would personally choose the gumbo poutine first for sheer uniqueness and flavor, these fries are still a really solid appetizer, and probably the safer pick if you’re dining with someone who prefers something a little more classic. Next up, it was time to try out the Croque-Monsieur for $27. This dish is made of Country bread, French ham, Gruyère cheese, Maille Dijon mustard, and béchamel sauce. Croque-Monsieur This one was honestly a little surprising, and not necessarily in the way we expected. We’ve had a few different versions of this sandwich around Disney World (especially at places like Les Halles), so our reporter went into this one thinking it would be a pretty classic, comforting ham-and-cheese situation. Almost too pretty to eat And in many ways, it is. The portion is fairly large, with those signature layers of ham and melted cheese inside, plus a béchamel sauce poured over the top. The sandwich is toasted so that the béchamel gets this really nice, crispy, golden finish while still staying creamy and soaking slightly into the bread. Texture-wise, it’s rich, indulgent, and definitely satisfying. Croque-Monsieur It also comes with an arugula salad on the side with tomatoes and what looks like a sprinkle of Parmesan, though if we’re honest, arugula salad always feels a bit like a filler side to us. It’s light, not very substantial, and doesn’t add a ton beyond being something green on the plate. You can substitute fries if you want, but after already having plenty of fries for this review, we decided to stick with the salad. Half of the sandwich The biggest thing to know about this sandwich, though, is the mustard. There’s a specific Dijon mustard on it that I assumed would be standard…but it is not. It’s spicy, horseradish-forward Dijon, and it comes in hot. The heat hits quickly, kind of zaps your tongue, and you get that sharp horseradish kick in every bite. If you don’t like horseradish or aren’t expecting spice in your croque monsieur, this will absolutely catch you off guard. The whole plate Overall, it’s a decent sandwich, though a little greasy, and for the price point, we honestly found ourselves thinking the gumbo poutine was the better value and more memorable choice. But if you love bold mustard flavor and don’t mind that horseradish bite, this could be a fun twist on the classic! As we wound down our dining extravaganza, it was time to tackle the most anticipated dish of the meal — dessert! We opted for a slice of Gwendolyn’s Famous Earl’s Court Chocolate Cake for $22. This is made with Valrhona French chocolate cake filled with Callebaut Belgian chocolate ganache and malted chocolate cream. Topped with Callebaut Belgian chocolate fudge and Fleur de Sel. Gwendolyn’s Famous Earl’s Court Chocolate Cake This cake is honestly on another level! It reminded us a little bit of the classic chocolate cake you can get at Steakhouse 71… but we would easily put this one a step above. You can taste the quality immediately; the ingredients feel richer, the execution feels more intentional, and it honestly made us realize we’ve been missing out by not trying more of the cakes here. Look at the layers The cake itself is fluffy but still has that slight density you want in a really good chocolate cake that’s rich and satisfying without being overly sweet. The chocolate flavor is deep and well-balanced, and then between each layer, you get this thick, creamy chocolate ganache that might have been our favorite part of the whole dessert. It’s smooth, sweet, intensely chocolatey, with even a little hint of nuttiness, and it’s layered so perfectly throughout the cake. A bite Inside, there are also layers of malted chocolate cream, which are lighter in flavor and cooler in texture, and they do such a good job balancing out the heavier chocolate notes. It keeps the cake from feeling too rich all at once, even though it’s definitely indulgent. And then the top is just incredible: a thick Belgian chocolate fudge layer finished with fleur de sel, which adds this subtle saltiness that cuts through the sweetness in the best way. It’s beautifully done, beautifully plated, and even dusted with a little edible glitter, because of course it is. So decadent Is it expensive? Yes — at $22, it’s definitely a splurge. But it’s also absolutely a dessert meant for two people to share, and as a split treat, it feels completely worth it. Overall, an excellent, memorable piece of cake and one of the best chocolate desserts I’ve had at Disney World. Also, we wanted to offer a super quick shoutout to Chris, our server for this meal, as it was a delight being able to pick your brain about the menu items and the restaurant! Nosh or Not This Disney World restaurant is a must-visit if… The Atmosphere Feels Like an Experience All on Its Own. Lunch here isn’t just about grabbing a meal; it genuinely feels like stepping into a whimsical, storybook bakery dining room. Between the chandeliers, pastel elegance, and beautifully styled spaces, it’s the kind of place that feels special the second you walk in, even if you’re just stopping by midday. The Appetizers Are Surprisingly Standout. If you love starting a meal with something fun and indulgent, the appetizers here are a major reason to come. The Gumbo Poutine in particular is one of those dishes you’ll be thinking about long after the trip, that’s rich, flavorful, hearty, and honestly one of the best loaded fry options on Disney property. The Cakes Are the Main Event (And Worth Planning Around.) Let’s be real: this is a cake destination. The desserts here aren’t an afterthought — they’re the highlight. If you want a lunch spot where you can enjoy a solid meal and finish with a truly show-stopping slice of cake that feels shareable and memorable, this is absolutely the place. You should skip this Disney World spot if… It’s Definitely a Splurge. This is not a budget-friendly lunch stop. Between the entrée prices, appetizers, and especially the cakes (which can be $20+ a slice), it adds up quickly. If you’re trying to keep dining costs lower or save splurges for a signature dinner, this might feel like a lot for a midday meal. The Food Can Be a Bit Hit-or-Miss Depending on What You Order. While the appetizers and desserts really shine, some of the lunch entrées may not feel as universally worth it. For example, dishes like the Croque-Monsieur have bold flavor twists that could surprise picky eaters, and the sides (like a simple arugula salad) may feel a little underwhelming for the price point. It’s More of a “Leisurely Lunch” Spot Than a Quick Park Break. This is the kind of restaurant you go to when you want to slow down and make lunch an experience. If you’re on a packed park schedule, trying to maximize rides, or just need something quick and efficient, The Cake Bake Shop might feel too time-consuming compared to faster Disney dining options. Overall Overall, lunch at The Cake Bake Shop Restaurant was a really memorable experience, with some genuinely standout highs, especially when it came to the appetizers and dessert. The Gumbo Poutine in particular was phenomenal and easily one of the best loaded fry-style dishes we’ve had on Disney property, and even the Truffle Pommes Frites felt like an elevated, sit-down version of a familiar park favorite. The Croque-Monsieur was a bit more surprising than expected, with a bold horseradish-spiked Dijon that won’t be for everyone, but it was still a solid, indulgent entrée. And then the real showstopper was the Earl’s Court Chocolate Cake — rich, beautifully layered, and absolutely worth sharing. Between the whimsical atmosphere and the quality of the food (especially the sweets, which are clearly where this place shines), The Cake Bake Shop feels like a lunch spot that’s as much about the experience as it is the meal, and definitely one to consider if you’re looking for something a little more special than the usual Disney dining routine. 5. There are two things you can almost always count on during a Disney World trip. You’re going to walk an absurd number of steps, and at some point, Florida weather is going to Florida weather all over your plans. Sunshine, humidity, sudden downpours that feel personal. You know the drill. Silicone Waterproof Shoe Covers So when I first saw silicone waterproof shoe covers pop up as a supposed Disney essential, I laughed (out loud). They looked like something you’d find in the back corner of an online marketplace at 2 AM while doom scrolling. There was absolutely no way these were going to work in the parks. I was fully prepared to try them and report back so you wouldn’t waste your money. And yet, here we are. DISCLOSURE: This post may contain affiliate links, meaning when you click the links and make a purchase, we receive a commission. These Silicone Waterproof Shoe Covers Actually Work As we said, we’re talking about these Silicone Waterproof Shoe Covers. Silicone Waterproof Shoe Covers These things are basically stretchy silicone shells that slide over your sneakers and zip up at the back. The idea is simple. Keep the rain off your shoes so you’re not sloshing around in soggy socks for the rest of the day. On paper, it makes sense. In reality, it sounded somewhat questionable. We were ready to try these out The first surprise was how sturdy they felt. They’re not flimsy or thin like a disposable rain poncho situation. The silicone is thick and flexible, and the bottoms have actual tread. Not “you’re about to eat pavement on Main Street” levels of slick. I walked on wet concrete, brick paths, and even those mysteriously slippery attraction exits without feeling like I was risking my dignity. Shoe Covers The second surprise was that they genuinely kept my shoes dry. Like, dry dry. We’re talking Florida rain that comes down sideways, and still, my sneakers were spared. I had zero faith going in, and now I’m kind of annoyed because I might actually buy my own pair. Silicone Waterproof Shoe Covers One tip if you’re considering them. Pay attention to sizing. If you’re between sizes or on the upper end, sizing up will save you some discomfort around the zipper area. They’re snug by design, but too snug can feel a little weird after a while. Once I adjusted for that, they were way more comfortable than I expected to be stomping around in all day. Silicone Waterproof Shoe Covers Now, let’s be real. These aren’t magic. If there’s a gap at the top where the cover meets your leg, water can still find its way in. I noticed it most when walking straight into the rain instead of with it. Water hits your legs, gravity does its thing, and eventually some moisture sneaks inside. That said, it was still a massive improvement over walking around with completely soaked shoes. Silicone Waterproof Shoe Covers The biggest win here is what happens after the rain stops. No squishy socks. No shoes that smell like a locker room when you pack them to go home. No debating whether you can survive the rest of the day like this or need to buy overpriced replacement footwear. A complete look! I hate admitting it, but yes. With how often it rains in Florida, these actually made my park day easier. Especially for someone who avoids sneakers because wet shoes are a personal nightmare. If you’ve ever spent a Disney afternoon feeling damp and miserable from the ankles down, this might be the weird little product that saves you. 8. I’ve been staying at Disney hotels for over 30 years, and while there are a lot of perks guests get by staying here, there is one that will keep me booking rooms at Disney hotels in the future. Pop Century Resort From immersive theming to complimentary transportation that takes the stress out of getting around, Disney hotels are designed to make vacations easier from the moment you arrive. Early Theme Park Entry, extended evening hours for select resorts, and the ability to stay fully inside the “Disney bubble” all add real value to an on-site stay. But as great as those perks are, there’s one advantage that impacts your trip before it even begins, and one that can completely change how your park days happen. Lightning Lane Selections When you stay at a Disney World hotel, you can begin booking Lightning Lanes seven days before your check-in date, for the full length for up to 14 days. While off-site guests are limited to just three days before each park day. So let’s break down the benefits and costs of staying on property vs staying at a non-Disney resort. Pros of Staying at a Disney World Resort Off-site guests don’t get access until three days before their visit, and that difference is massive when it comes to securing the most popular attractions. For rides that routinely sell out early, like Slinky Dog Dash, TRON Lightcycle / Run, Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, and Avatar Flight of Passage, those extra days can determine whether you ride at all. Art of Animation Another major benefit is the ability to book Lightning Lanes for your entire stay (up to 14 days) in one sitting. Instead of waking up early each morning to compete for availability, Disney resort guests can lock in plans ahead of time. This not only saves time but also reduces stress, especially for families juggling multiple park days. Caribbean Beach Resort Other perks that complement the early access to Lightning Lane are Early Theme Park Entry and Extended Evening Hours. Disney hotel guests also receive Early Theme Park Entry, which allows access to all four parks 30 minutes before official opening. While that may sound minimal, it pairs perfectly with Lightning Lane planning. Knocking out a major attraction first thing in the morning and then moving into pre-booked Lightning Lane return times is one of the most efficient ways to tour the parks, particularly during busy seasons. For guests staying at Deluxe resorts, Extended Evening Hours add even more value. On select nights, certain parks remain open after closing exclusively for Deluxe guests, offering shorter waits and a more relaxed atmosphere. This perk can be a game-changer for riding popular attractions with significantly lower crowds. Early Entry at Disney’s Hollywood Studios Beyond park access, Disney resorts offer convenience through complimentary transportation options like buses, the Skyliner, boats, and the Monorail. Not needing to rent a car, navigate traffic, or pay for parking removes a lot of friction from a Disney vacation. Staying on property also keeps you fully immersed in the Disney bubble, where the theming and atmosphere extend well beyond the parks. Another underrated perk is the ability to return to your hotel mid-day. For families with young kids, being able to take a break, grab a nap, or cool off at the pool can completely reset a long park day and prevent burnout. The Dig Site Cons of Staying at a Disney World Resort The biggest downside to staying at a Disney resort is cost. Nightly rates are generally higher than off-property hotels, especially at Moderate and Deluxe resorts. Pair that with any loyalty points or discounts you could receive with non-Disney companies, and you could be paying a significant amount more. While you’re paying for convenience and perks, the price jump can be significant, particularly for longer stays. Pop Century Food can also be more expensive on property. While there are plenty of dining options, truly budget-friendly meals are limited unless you leave Disney property or bring your own food. Guests who prefer cooking meals or eating off-site may find this restrictive. ‘Ohana Space is another consideration. Disney hotel rooms are typically smaller than off-property accommodations, and families needing suites or multiple bedrooms will pay a premium. Additionally, you’re paying for perks whether you use them or not. For example, if you don’t plan to rope drop, use Lightning Lane, or spend much time in the parks, the overall value decreases. Two-bedroom villa at Bay Lake Tower Pros of Staying Off-Property Off-property resorts often appeal to travelers looking for lower nightly prices, particularly for extended stays. Many off-site hotels offer larger rooms or full suites, giving families more space to spread out. Kitchens or kitchenettes can also help save money on food, especially with grocery delivery and access to non-Disney restaurants. Staying off-property can be a better fit for trips where Disney parks aren’t the main focus. Guests who plan to visit Universal, spend time at the beach, or explore other Orlando attractions may appreciate the flexibility and cost savings. Epic Universe Cons of Staying Off-Property The biggest drawback of staying off-property is the limited access to Lightning Lane booking. Off-site guests can only book three days in advance and must do so day-by-day, making it much harder to secure high-demand attractions. By the time booking opens, many of the best return times or the rides themselves are already gone. This does not mean all hope is lost, as you should check back regularly because more selections will pop up. Transportation can also be a challenge. Driving to the parks means dealing with traffic, parking, and longer end-of-day exits, while hotel shuttles are often limited and inflexible. Without Early Theme Park Entry or Extended Evening Hours, off-site guests have less time in the parks than Disney hotel guests. Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa Why Staying at a Disney Resort Works for My Family For my family, staying at a Disney resort is worth it because Lightning Lane is non-negotiable. With young kids, long standby waits can derail an entire day, and having early access to book Lightning Lanes allows us to plan park days that are realistic and enjoyable. Knowing we can secure our must-do rides ahead of time takes a huge amount of pressure off once we arrive. When you combine Lightning Lane access with Early Theme Park Entry, convenient transportation, and the ability to take mid-day breaks, the value becomes clear. For us, even though we might be paying a premium for convenience, we will continue to do it every time. Wilderness Lodge Copper Creak Who Is a Disney Resort Stay For? First-time Disney World visitors Families who want less stress Guests visiting during busy seasons People who care about riding the most popular attractions Short trips Guests who want to maximize Lightning Lane Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort Who Might Be Better Off Staying Off-Property? Those on a tight budget Large families needing space Guests doing more than Disney Parks Visitors who don’t plan to use Lightning Lane much Disney’s Wilderness Lodge Like we always say, what works for one family might be different for another. Say hello to the American-o On Ice! Hehe, get it? ©Starbucks While we found this in the Starbucks app, ready to order, they listed out the elements so you can order it in-store or through your own app. You’ll need to order an Iced Americano with: Starbucks Blonde Espresso Roast 2 Pumps Honey Syrup Brown Sugar Cold Foam Dash of Cinnamon It sounds so good! While the joke isn’t as good if you don’t get it over ice, it also sounds good as a hot drink to warm up with in the chilly weather. Starbucks at Disney Springs We recently tried two new drinks on the Starbucks menu, and since we’re Disney Food Blog, we tried them in Magic Kingdom! We had the Iced Double Berry Matcha, which we think could win over any matcha hater. The berry flavors worked really well with the matcha, and we didn’t find it overly “grassy.” Iced Double Berry Matcha Latte We also had the Iced Banana Bread Matcha, which really tasted like banana! The cold foam had the strongest banana flavor with matcha on the bottom, which was a lot more prominent than the other drink we had. 13. After over two years, a once-abandoned Disney Springs location is about to welcome a highly anticipated restaurant! Site of the upcoming Six Ravens The Art of Shaving at The Landing in Disney Springs closed PERMANENTLY in 2024, and its absence has been notable ever since. Before it closed on January 2nd, 2024, this store was a premier men’s grooming shop that offered luxury shaving products and a high-end barber spa for haircuts and shaves — done by trained master barbers. The empty building has remained in Disney Springs all this time, but it will soon be occupied as early as this year! In January 2026, Disney announced that a new restaurant would soon be coming to the space formerly occupied by The Art of Shaving. Six Ravens will be a new offering from Gideon’s Bakehouse and is expected to open sometime in 2026! ©Six Ravens Opening just a few doors down from Gideon’s in The Landing, will offer a menu featuring fun goodies like hand pies that Six Ravens calls Coffyns. Something new is coming! Gideon’s founder Steve Lewis said the new restaurant would focus on savory offerings, and that these “Coffyns” are “old school hand pies” featuring fluffy yeast bread “pastries filled with flavors created not only by the talented minds in Gideon’s kitchen but also by some of your favorite Orlando culinary superstars.” ©Six Ravens Additionally, we know that the restaurant will serve up savory potatoes, local draft beer, and some tasty desserts. ©Six Ravens An opening date has yet to be announced, but rest assured that progress on the newly refurbished space is already noticeable. 16. Disney World is changing a lot these days. Three of the four theme parks are undergoing major renovations, and a new CEO is about to take charge of the company. ©Disney Throughout these changes, Disney is feeling a little bit like our parents lately. They’re changing the way the house looks (A LOT), and they’re giving us new rules all the time. As if that wasn’t enough, Disney is also enforcing 5 curfews in 2026. We’re feeling like rebellious teenagers lately. That’s right, we want to stay out late and party the night away, but our parents (Disney World theme parks) have hit us with curfews that are really throwing off our groove. First is the transportation curfew. Disney World Bus Disney World offers free transportation for guests staying on property, like buses, boats, the monorail, and the Skyliner. We love this free transportation; it’s one of our favorite parts of staying on property. If you’re out late, though, you’re out of luck! Disney’s free transportation has a cutoff time after the parks close. You have roughly one hour after the park’s closing time to hop aboard your chosen mode of transfer, and if you miss it — tough luck! Skyliner Sure, we understand that Cast Members can’t be out driving all night, so this is a curfew we understand. That being said, we have been burned by this curfew a time or two. If you find yourself without a bus or skyliner in sight, you will need to pay for a ride share option like Uber or Lyft. Luckily, these fees aren’t too high if you’re on Disney property. Rideshare sign in Disney World The next curfew we’re sick of is that Disney has a cut-off time for dining options around the park! Late-night dining in Disney World is few and far between these days. Most resorts have some sort of quick service option or dining for guests to indulge in once their time at the parks is over. That being said, a lot of these dining options close by 11 PM at the absolute latest. Disney food courts For example, if you’re staying at All Star Movies, your option is the World Premiere Food Court. This quick service closes at 11 PM at the time of writing, but that is typically the latest you’ll see a hotel quick service open. 11 PM doesn’t feel that early, sure. That being said, Magic Kingdom can often close at 11 PM. If you don’t eat in the park, by the time you return to your resort, you are out of luck and hungry. We just need a burger! There are a few dining options around Disney World, like Trader Sam’s Grogg Grotto or Dahlia Lounge, that serve food until at least midnight. There are a few quick services with a late-night menu, like Capt. Cook’s, but it’s important to know that’s pretty limited. We know most people aren’t eating at midnight, so we understand this one. We think. Hawaiian Flatbread at Capt. Cook’s Even Lightning Lanes have a curfew in the parks! Disney’s paid skip-the-line service gives you a return time window for your Multi Pass or Single Pass that gives you an hour to go and ride the attraction of your choice. Kilimanjaro Safaris Lightning Lane We really appreciate how much time Lightning Lanes can save us, but you can’t just go to a ride whenever you want. (Unless you’re using Lightning Lane Premier Pass, which is significantly more expensive). If you miss your window, we have tested exactly how long the park’s grace period is. We have been able to return almost 2 hours late to our return time and still be let in (almost) each time we’ve tried it. You could say this one is a loose curfew. We also (unfortunately) understand that they need some sort of crowd control, and Lightning Lane return times help prevent rides from becoming overrun with guests trying to all skip the lines at once. Everest Lightning Lane Back to food curfews, even Disney World Dining Reservations have a cut-off time! That’s right, you’ve been waiting for months for your Advanced Dining Reservation, but you were late, and sadly, out of luck. If you’re dining at a table service or lounge that you made a reservation for, you have a 15-minute grace period if you’re running a little late around the resort. ‘Ohana skillet! If you happen to miss that 15-minute grace period, you will be charged $10 per person on the reservation. Don’t take this lightly, we have been charged for missing before! If you are still trying to make it to your reservation but you know you’ll be late, the best practice is to call the restaurant or message Guest Relations on the my Disney Experience app to see if any adjustments can be made. Our entire brunch meal at Summer House on the Lake They will do their best to accommodate you, but they can’t always make exceptions, especially if the restaurant is super busy, which we understand. Finally, Disney has been strict on enforcing character line curfews lately. Meet-and-greet queue Character meet-and-greets are some of the most popular forms of entertainment in Disney World. From classic characters to new faces on the block, these characters can see some pretty long lines. As the time for the meet and greet gets close to ending, if the line is too long, Cast Members will often cut it off before the characters go inside. Hi there, Mickey! Oftentimes, Cast Members will wait as long as they can to end the lines, but they will have to add that curfew if necessary. This is why we recommend going at the start of a meet and greet time and not waiting until the very end. You might just miss saying hi to your favorite character! This is another cerfew that we honestly understand. Rapunzel Unfortunately, like most unruly teenagers, if we really think about it, these curfews are for everyone’s best interest. (Except the late-night food thing! Mom let us eat!) There are tons of differnet rules and secrets you need to know before your Disney vacation, but we’re here to learn the hard way so you don’t have to. 17. There is no shortage of sweet treats around Disney World! From classics like a pineapple Dole Whip to newer favorites like the creme brulee croissant, there is something for almost everyone. The Cake Bake Shop Restaurant One of the places where we consistently find amazing desserts is the Cake Bake Shop Bakery. This walk-in shop has slices of cake that are what dreams are made of and drinks that we won’t forget anytime soon. During our latest stop by the Boardwalk, we stopped in to try not one but two new treats! The Cake Bake Shop Bakery has done it again! This time, we’re skipping past those glorious cake slices and headed straight to the cheesecake. First, we tried out the Lemon Curd Cheesecake for $17.00! This is made with a lemon zest cheesecake, graham cracker crust, lemon curd, and freshly whipped cream. The Lemon Curd Cheesecake This slice felt like walking on a cloud because it was so fluffy! It had a slightly tart curd with the perfect amount of whipped topping and a graham cracker crust that holds it together and adds a nice base texture. It almost felt like eating whipped air, which we found to be near perfection. It wasn’t overly heavy and would satisfy anyone looking for a light, sweet treat. Look at that! The lemon curd had a natural flavor that didn’t come across as artificial. We will admit the graham cracker crust got a bit lost flavor-wise, but that wasn’t a big issue in our opinion. This was a BIG hit for us. It even looks gorgeous in the case Next, we tried the Pink Princess for $8.00. This is a lemon-lime soda and grenadine, sound familiar? This is essentially a handcrafted Shirley Temple complete with glitter-dipped maraschino cherries on top. We love that the bakery is getting in on food trends this year! The Pink Princess! This was truly a quintessential Shirley Temple! It was delicious and exactly what you would hope from this classic beverage. It was sweet and bubbly, but it didn’t have an overly heavy grenadine flavor, which we really appreciated. This can be a great option for anyone who’s looking for a fun drink without alcohol! We can see kids and adults alike loving this one. We’re suddenly craving a Shirley Temple. These two new treats really uphold the bakery’s reputation! Classics made even better. 18. DOLE Whips have been one of Disney’s popular snacks for decades. But did you know there are several spots at Disney World where you can customize your DOLE Whip options? Raspberry Pineapple Dole Whip That’s right, from flavor swirls to specialty cocktails to even some…candy (?!?!), these DOLE Whip concoctions allow you to make Disney’s iconic snack your own. Before we move on to the permanent spots, let’s touch on something temporary, which is tied to EPCOT’s Festival of the Arts. During the event’s run, Swirled Showcase — the permanent space located near the Port of Entry between World Celebration and World Showcase — is offering a Candy Trio Flight. The $8.29 flight is made with DOLE Whip Strawberry with STARBURST MINIS fruit chews, DOLE Whip Lemon with SKITTLES POP’d Original Freeze Dried Candy, and DOLE Whip Lime with chili-lime seasoning and LIFE SAVERS gummies. Swirled Showcase Flight at Festival of the Arts The customizable element comes in because you can mix and match the candies with the different DOLE Whip flavors, creating some interesting flavor profiles. Now, on to some other, more permanent offerings, around the resort. Candy Trio Flight…the candy Fuel Located at the Swan & Dolphin Resort Complex, Fuel offers a Frozen Yogurt and DOLE Whip station! Classic Pineapple DOLE Whip is one of the six flavors available here, with others including Chocolate, Vanilla, Strawberry, New York Cheesecake, and Caramel Corn. Meaning you can mix 1-2 flavors with 10 different toppings to choose from, like say New York Cheesecake and Pineapple Dole Whip with sprinkles and nuts on top…and sorry about that, started drooling…ahem, let’s move on. Pineapple Dole Whip and New York Cheesecake Frozen Yogurt Swirls on the Water Disney Springs’ Swirls on the Water offers an ever-changing list of DOLE Whip flavors, which can be mixed together in classic soft serve style. Of course, the outlet also offers some fun seasonal snack offerings and sundaes. The sampler The Diamond Horseshoe and Liberty Tree Tavern Both those Magic Kingdom locations offer Tavern Punch, a $9.75 mix of Lemon DOLE Whip Slush topped with Sprite. However, the DOLE Whip here isn’t soft serve. It’s frozen in a slushy machine, and creating a texture that’s lighter and icier but still packed with the citrusy zing you love. Tavern Punch The Basket at Wine Bar George This Disney Springs location offers not one, but TWO $15.00 alcoholic DOLE Whip concoctions: There’s the Frozcato made with DOLE WHIP Pineapple, Moscato, and Vodka, and the Frozen Old Fashioned made with DOLE Whip Orange, and George Dickel 8-year-old Bourbon. Frozcato with pineapple Dole Whip Sunshine Tree Terrace Finally, it seems appropriate to wrap up with one of the oldest DOLE Whip locations in the park: Magic Kingdom’s Sunshine Terrace. The main customizable option here are floats. You can mix any available DOLE Whip flavor with any fountain drink, including Coca-Cola, Diet Coke, PowerAde, Barq’s Root Beer, Fanta, and Sprite. POWERADE Mountain Berry Blast Float Even the most ardent DOLE Whip eaters might not be aware of these customizable options located around Disney property! 19. A new Disney park expansion is opening NEXT MONTH! Over in Disneyland Paris, the resort’s second theme park, Walt Disney Studios Park, is being transformed into Disney Adventure World. ©Disney This retheme also includes the park’s massive expansion, which includes the World of Frozen. The expansion is opening up on March 29th, 2026, and all of this anticipation has made us hungry! That’s why we’re breaking down all of the restaurants confirmed for Disney’s new theme park expansion. Grab your forks, braid your hair, and get hungry because new restaurants are headed our way! New restaurants are, quite literally, our bread and butter. Luckily for us, Disney has already confirmed several new spots to dine at, starting with Nordic Crowns Tavern in the World of Frozen. ©Disney This is a new quick-service restaurant that will be open for lunch and dinner. It will have decorations “that tell the story of the kingdom through galleries of paintings and royal artifacts.” At this spot, you can find a customizable experience inspired by Nordic cuisine. The menu will have 16 possible combinations with bases like mashed potatoes or quinoa, paired with proteins like grilled salmon or Nordic meatballs, plus seasonal vegetables and tangy cranberry or creamy dill sauce. ©Disney The next confirmed restaurant is The Regal View Restaurant & Lounge! This will be a new table-service restaurant, also located in the World of Frozen. You can have breakfast, lunch, and dinner here in what Disney describes as a “refined atmosphere decorated with embroidered drapes, floral tapestries, delicate wood moldings,” and murals of your favorite Disney Princesses. ©Disney This will also be THE spot for princess fans, because this will be a Character Meal! You can find Belle from Beauty and the Beast, Merida from Brave, Jasmine from Aladdin, Aurora from Sleeping Beauty, Mulan from Mulan, and Ariel from The Little Mermaid. This spot will have ornamental plates inspired by Disney Princesses that were designed and handmade by Royal Delft, a renowned Dutch porcelain manufacturer. ©Disney The lounge will be the very first bar located in either of the Disneyland Paris parks. It’s dedicated to the animal sidekicks like Heihei from Moana, Pascal from Tangled, and Mushu from Mulan. This will be the spot for grabbing a drink and watching fireworks! ©Disney The expansion will also include Adventure Way, which will lead guests to the World of Frozen. Along Adventure Way, there will be 14 new food spots! The first of these is La Terrasse Panoramique. It will serve bread bowls, New York rolls, and comforting hot beverages. Even Elsa can use these bites to warm up. ©Disney Next is Café Luminosity that will feature a classic hot dog and four signature recipes. You can also find sweet treats like cinnamon rolls. Disney has even teased food carts that will have items like filled brioche rolls, stuffed potato waffles, and desserts inspired by Disney Princesses. ©Disney If you’re going to Walt Disney Studios Park before the expansion opens or even after, there are also several other dining spots around the park! You can try out restaurants like Bistro Chez Remy, FAN-tastic Food Truck, Laugh ‘n’ Go, and more. 20. Another day, another Disney World construction update! The Orlando resort is changing a lot these days with some major updates coming to Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, and Hollywood Studios. Lakeshore Lodge! They’re also working on expanding their hotel offerings by adding another resort, called Disney Lakeshore Lodge! We’ve been tracking the hotel’s progress since it was first announced and now we’re back with more updates. Disney’s Lakeshore Lodge is really starting to take shape! During a recent stop by Disney’s Fort Wilderness resort, we got up close and personal with the construction. That’s starting to look like a hotel! The hotel’s skeleton has been taking shape for a while, but we loved getting to see it from this point of view. There were tons of construction, walls, traffic cones, and more. This hotel will be in the Magic Kingdom resort area, tucked between Disney’s Wilderness Lodge and Fort Wilderness. So much construction! Thanks to @bioreconstruct on X, we have also watched the construction from the sky. We’ve spotted the different wings of the hotel, what seems to be a lazy river, the growing pool, and more. The photo below was taken in January 2026. ©bioreconstruct This hotel sits on the former home of River Country, Disney’s permanently closed water park. In addition to the main hotel, we have also seen the cabins or villas come to life along the edge of the property. The resort is slated to open in 2027, and construction updates do imply the resort is on track. An up close look! We also drove by it on the water during our most recent trip over. It’s looking beautiful! A view from the water! This new resort is “inspired by the majesty of nature and its enduring influence on Disney artists.” In the concept art, we’ve also seen nods to several Disney characters that all have connections to nature. If you squint, you might notice Bambi, Flower, and Thumper in the artwork below. Lakeshore Lodge Concept Art ©Disney We’re always excited to see a new hotel coming to Disney World because that means new shopping options, new restaurants, and a new bar or two. This hotel will be a Disney Vacation Club resort, and it will feature more than 900 rooms! ©Disney While Disney has said the hotel is supposed to open in 2027, they haven’t shared an official opening date, but we’re expecting more information on that sometime this year. 21. There’s a breeze in the air, and everything is vibrant, which can only mean one thing—we’re celebrating EPCOT International Festival of the Arts. To honor my favorite festival of the year, I’ve asked my Disney Eats friends, Nicole and Katie, as well as my Perfect Pairings partner, Rain, to join me for an artsy stroll to tackle this year’s Wonderful Walk of Colorful Cuisine. Everything You Need to Know for the Wonderful Walk of Colorful Cuisine If you’re a fan of trying creative culinary masterpieces, be sure to pick up a festival passport as you enter EPCOT so you can join us for the foodie fun. This year’s Wonderful Walk of Colorful Cuisine features eight tasty dishes from the Food Studios throughout the park. Each dish has its own artistic flair, and for every purchase, you’ll receive a matching stamp on your passport. Once you collect five stamps, bring your complete passport to Deco Delights, near Port of Entry, for your complimentary festival treat. We decided to grab ours at the end of the stroll, but this tasty bite can be redeemed at any time during the festival, so you can get it on a second visit if you plan to return for another picture-perfect day. See the dazzling bites available on page 40 in your passport and listed below. Wonderful Walk of Colorful Cuisine Menu Items: Enchanted Rose, Opening Bites at CommuniCore Plaza Liquid Nitrogen Minnie Cake Pop, Swirled Showcase in the Walkway between World Showcase and the Imagination! Pavillion Sparkling Spectacle Gâteau, Deco Delights near Port of Entry featuring Pandora Jewelry Citrus-Braised Beet Tartare, Gourmet Landscapes in Canada Chorizo and Potato Empanada, Vibrante & Vívido between France and Morocco Popcorn, Popcorn Chicken and Waffles, Figment’s Inspiration Station at The Odyssey in World Celebration Color Scheme Cake, Figment’s Inspiration Station at The Odyssey in World Celebration Deconstructed Key Lime Pie, The Deconstructed Dish in World Discovery Eating Our Way through the Stroll Before the outing, we caught up with Chef Tony—the Chef de Cuisine for the savory items of the festival—to help curate our five perfect pairs, and I was blown away by some of the visual storytelling, so I wanted to fill you in today. Every dish is a mouthwatering masterpiece, but did you know the artistic inspiration comes from music, art movements and classic literature? In fact, we learned that the Fictional Victuals Food Studio includes a three-chapter food journey inspired by the Alice in Wonderland novels. Chapter 1: Beach Oysters Chapter 2: Plate of Impossible Bites Chapter 3: Tea Treat “This is definitely the most creative festival menu that we do,” said Chef Tony. “I’d recommend visiting multiple days so you can experience everything at a good pace.” And he’s so right! With so many options to choose from, it was hard to narrow down to only five, so we’ll likely take another Disney Parks team outing to try the rest. But for our first journey, here are the pairings we tested out: Deconstructed Key Lime Pie and the Wicked Weed Brewing Blank Canvas Wheat Aleat The Deconstructed Dish in World Discovery Popcorn, Popcorn Chicken and Waffles and the Hard Cider Flightat Figment’s Inspiration Station at The Odyssey in World Celebration Chorizo and Potato Empanada and the Layered Berry-Piña Colada Smoothie(non-alcoholic)at Vibrante & Vívido between France and Morocco Citrus-braised Beet Tartare and the Whole Hog Brewery Raspberry Chéret Double Radlerat Gourmet Landscapes in Canada Sparkling Spectacle Gâteau and the Boyd & Blair Espresso Martiniat Deco Delights near Port of Entry And on that note, let the delicious adventure begin! First Studio: The Deconstructed Dish Location: World Discovery Our Pairing: Deconstructed Key Lime Pie and the Wicked Weed Brewing Blank Canvas Wheat Ale We started off strong with this ooey gooey, Key Lime treat that is reimagined for the festival this year. The shareable treat came with waffle cone triangles that were perfect vessels for scooping up the Key Lime curd, Key Lime gelée, toasted meringue, and graham cracker crumbs for each bite. “Who needs a cheese pull when you can have a toasted meringue pull?” said Nicole. “With the large portion size and great flavors, this is one of my favorites from the festival.” To accompany the dish, we chose the Wicked Weed Brewing Blank Canvas Wheat Ale, which had a very refreshing, crisp taste that delightfully balanced the tartness from the Key Lime. Second Studio: Figment’s Inspiration Station at The Odyssey Location: World Celebration Our Pairing: Popcorn, Popcorn Chicken and Waffles and the Hard Cider Flight One little spark of inspiration was at the heart of these colorful creations. For the kids and kids at heart, this rainbow lineup had it all. Our whole group immediately gravitated to the Popcorn, Popcorn Chicken and Waffles, enjoying the combination of sweet and salty flavors. Now, you may want a beverage to enjoy on the side of your flavorful dish, so we grabbed the cider flight so that we could sample the three fruit-forward options. “This fruity flight is great for the cider aficionado in your group,” Rain said. “The combination of black cherry, orange cream, and strawberry banana gives you a lot of juicy options to choose from.” Third Studio: Vibrante & Vívido Location: Between France and Morocco Our Pairing: Chorizo and Potato Empanada and the Layered Berry-Piña Colada Smoothie (non-alcoholic) Now, this next dish is a returning favorite. A hearty option with a little bit of spice, the Chorizo and Potato Empanada made its debut at the festival in 2023 and remains a popular item for guests and the Disney Parks Blog team. “It’s not too spicy if you like to stay around an intermediate spice level,” said Rain. “That can be hard to find, so this was a delight and paired really well with the smoothie.” The Layered Berry-Piña Colada Smoothie was a showstopper on its own, served in a festive souvenir glass. So, if you’re looking for a refreshing drink during your stroll, we would list this as a must-try for any smoothie fan. Fourth Studio: Gourmet Landscapes Location: Canada Our Pairing: Citrus-braised Beet Tartare and the Whole Hog Brewery Raspberry Chéret Double Radler This Food Studio has gourmet in its name for a reason, and that is evident for anyone trying the Wild Mushroom Risotto, Roasted Bone Marrow or Citrus-braised Beet Tartare. On our trek, we decided to try the plant-based tartare because our pal Katie shared that this dish is the reason she likes beets. How can you compete with that? For our combo, we decided to add the Whole Hog Brewery Raspberry Chéret Double Radler. Perfect to sip on while perusing the Festival Markets if you like a light citrus beer. Fifth and Final Studio: Deco Delights Location: Near Port of Entry Our Pairing: Sparkling Spectacle Gâteau and the Boyd & Blair Espresso Martini After the last few savory dishes, Nicole and I were ready to finish our stroll the same way we started it—with a sweet treat! Inspired by Art Deco, the Sparkling Spectacle Gâteau was a glittery delight that we devoured instantly. I’m not always a huge fan of mousse, but I was pleasantly surprised by this one. In fact, my review of the item was short and sweet, just “wow.” It was light and creamy but also had a similar taste to vanilla bean ice cream, only enhanced by the caramel center and apricot jam. We decided to pair this one with the Boyd & Blair Espresso Martini so we could cheers to our enchanting stroll. The coffee taste was strong, so if you’re ready for a second lap around World Showcase, this beverage will energize you for your journey. Tip Ending the Wonderful Walk of Colorful Cuisine here means you are exactly where you need to be to pick up your complimentary Festival Treat. 23. The Super Bowl is the biggest night in sports…and one of the biggest nights in entertainment. ©NFL From movie trailers to major brand campaigns, Disney has a history of using the Super Bowl as a massive stage. Now, with the game happening, we’re finally getting our first look at what could end up being one of the most talked-about Disney ads of the year. Every year, the Super Bowl isn’t just about football — it’s also one of the biggest nights for commercials, and Disney almost always shows up in some way. Whether it’s promoting upcoming movies, streaming projects, theme park experiences, or tying into the long-running “I’m going to Disney World!” tradition with the championship celebration, Disney knows how to use the biggest game of the year to get people talking. It’s kind of become expected at this point that Disney will have at least one major moment during the broadcast. ©NFL And now, as this year’s game is here, we’ve finally seen Disney’s Super Bowl ad for this year! The TV spot continues Disney’s Super Bowl tradition that began in 1987, when New York Giants quarterback Phil Simms first appeared in the commercial following the team’s Super Bowl win. This year, it was Super Bowl MVP Kenneth Walker III and Quarterback Sam Darnold who got to yell the famous line, “I’m going to Disneyland” in the commercial. ©Disney Over the years, the biggest names in Super Bowl history have taken part in the Disney commercial. After this year’s Super Bowl, the game’s star players, Kenneth Walker III and Sam Darnold, plan to celebrate with a magical day at Disneyland Resort that will include a celebratory cavalcade down Main Street U.S.A.
