We’re less than a month away from D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event in Anaheim, California, and while there are numerous parts of the event we’re looking forward to, the merchandise we get to check out is one of our favorite parts. ©Disney Our wallets usually aren’t a fan, of course, but hey, for a lot of this merchandise, it’s the only time you’ll be able to grab it. If you’re a big fan of pins, like we are, you need to see this new pin that’s arriving on the first day of the event — it’s wildly expensive, more than some of the Walt Disney World Annual Passes, but when we say it’s rare, it’s RARE. There will be multiple new pins avaialable at the Mickey’s of Glendale shop at D23 in August, but the one that immediately caught our eye is the World Princess Week Ultra Jumbo Pin, which will cost a whopping $1,200. ©Disney The pin features numerous of your favorite Princesses across Disney’s animated films. From left to right, we’ve got Raya, Belle, Ariel, Mulan, Tiana, Merida, Pocahontas, Jasmine, Moana, Cinderella, Aurora, Rapunzel, and Snow White. The pin is 16 inches wide and 9 inches high — yes, that means it’s over a FOOT long! ©Disney It also comes with a magnetic closure box to help you display your pin safely wherever you’d like. The big catch? There are only 150 of these in existence, so while it’s expensive, it’s incredibly rare. At this time, there’s no telling if it’ll be available anywhere else in the future, but considering how many people attend D23, it’s our guess that it’ll sell out pretty fast. ©D23 We’ll be in attendance throughout all of D23, so we’ll be keeping you updated on all the latest panel news, as well as merchandise updates. Be sure to stay tuned to DFB! D23 Is Giving Away Streaming Bundles, VIP Vacations, And MORE! Join the DFB Newsletter to get all the breaking news right in your inbox! Click here to Subscribe! Your favorite characters are ready for adventure at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park! Since we’re always looking for ways to add extra magic to your park days at planDisney, I recently set out on a mission to track down all the character greeting spots in the park. After spending a day exploring the park, I’m happy to report… I have insider tips for how to find rare characters and experiences exclusive to Animal Kingdom! Here’s what I discovered and where you can find them, too: How to Find Characters in the My Disney Experience App Before you set off on your own adventure, every explorer needs the right tools. Characters are easy to locate with the My Disney Experience app! Just Follow These Simple Steps: Click on the map pin at the bottom of the screen. Swipe left at the top of the screen and choose Characters. Click on Locations to select the desired theme park. Find characters on the map or choose Show List at the bottom right. By clicking on a character, you can view the location and times the selected character will appear throughout the day. Disney Character Experiences Exclusive to Animal Kingdom Theme Park The Lion King Characters are Ready to Greet You at the Oasis You might run into a wise mandrill or a certain meerkat who loves to hula. Rafiki is ready to show you the way, and when he takes a break for his meditations, Timon steps in to keep the fun going. You might even be able to convince him to do a dance with you! Both characters begin greeting guests about an hour after park opening most days and rotate every 30 minutes. Pocahontas is Just Around the Riverbend in the Oasis For one the most unique character greetings at Walt Disney World Resort, head to the right as you enter the Oasis. Just before the bridge to Discovery Island, you’ll find Pocahontas in a beautiful, natural setting that feels perfect for her adventurous spirit. Zootopia Characters are on Duty on Discovery Island Officers Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde are on the case! Hop on over to The Gathering Spot near the Tree of Life just outside Zootopia: Better Zoogether! It turns out Zootopia’s busiest crime-fighting duo are also some of the most popular characters at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. You’ll want to make sure you plan ahead for a visit with them. Since this is a popular meet and greet, allow some extra time. Up Characters are Out for Adventure on Discovery Island While you’re out on an adventure on the Discovery Trails, you might find Russell exploring the trails. His surprise visits don’t always appear in the My Disney Experience app, which means you’ll have to be a true Wilderness Explorer to find him. This is one of the hidden gems, so be on the lookout! For the best chance, enter the Discovery Trails to the left of the Tree of Life just before the bridge to Africa. You also never know when you might see Kevin or Dug roaming around Discovery Island. Kevin’s vibrant colors are hard to miss and be sure to ask Dug if he’s seen any squirrels. With his special voice box, he just might talk to you. Ready, Set, Play! Join Bluey and Bingo at Animal Kingdom While this isn’t a traditional character greeting, it is a one-of-a-kind play experience with Bluey and Bingo at Conservation Station. Hop on the Wildlife Express at Harambe Station near the exit to Kilimanjaro Safaris. Then get ready to dance with Bluey and Bingo and play games like Magic Asparagus, Keepy Uppy, and the Octopus Game. Disney Characters with Unique Animal Kingdom Outfits Animal Kingdom is the only place you’ll be able to see Mickey Mouse and his pals dressed for adventure. Start your day with Donald Duck and Daisy Duck who are dressed for a safari on the Oasis. After you enter the park, head to the right toward Garden Gate Gifts to find them. Then be sure to stop by and say hello to Mickey and Minnie who are also donning khakis and their safari hats. You’ll find them at Adventurers Outpost near the bridge to Asia. As you make your way further into the park, turn right after you enter Asia and be on the lookout for Goofy and Pluto. If you love character photos, you won’t want to miss these unique safari outfits starring Mickey and all of his adventurous pals. planDisney Tip If little ones are apprehensive about meeting characters, give them a few minutes to watch other guests interact with the characters so they can feel more comfortable. Remind them that just a high five or quick hello is perfectly okay. The characters are wonderful about recognizing a child’s comfort level and making them feel welcome. There are Disney movies that receive new merchandise approximately every eleven minutes. Then there is The Rescuers Down Under. Released in 1990, this wildly underrated Disney adventure gave us Bernard, Miss Bianca, Jake, Cody, Marahute, Wilbur, and one deeply misunderstood goanna (Nope, that’s not a typo. A goanna is a species of lizard found in Australia) with a dangerous appetite for eggs. Yes, we are talking about Joanna. Rescuers Down Under Tee at Tren-D Fortunately, Loungefly has remembered that The Rescuers Down Under exists. Several bags inspired by the movie are currently available through Amazon, including backpacks featuring Bernard, Miss Bianca, Jake, and other residents of the Australian Outback. DISCLOSURE: This post may contain affiliate links, meaning when you click the links and make a purchase, we receive a commission. Joanna has spent decades being treated like a villain when she was clearly an overworked assistant trapped in a toxic workplace with inadequate snacks. She does not get nearly enough Disney merchandise, and we have questions for the people in charge. Joanna may still be waiting for her solo collection, but this is progress. Loungefly Disney The Rescuers Down Under Mini Backpack This The Rescuers Down Under Mini Backpack looks like it was designed for the Disney fan who remembers renting the movie on VHS and then immediately attempting to communicate with local wildlife. Jake appears front and center on the exterior pocket, while Bernard and Miss Bianca are pictured above him. Additional animal characters appear on the side pockets, giving you several little details to inspect while waiting in a Disney World security line. ©Amazon It is colorful without being overwhelming, a smaller size without looking like a preschool backpack, and obscure enough to attract approving nods from fellow Disney adults. In other words, it is a useful way to identify your people. This would be a fun park bag for Animal Kingdom, especially if you enjoy coordinating your accessories with the general theme of animals, conservation, and birds who could absolutely carry a small child through the sky. view ON AMAZON Loungefly Disney The Rescuers Down Under Embroidered Mini Backpack – BoxLunch Exclusive This BoxLunch Exclusive Disney The Rescuers Down Under Backpack makes a bold entrance, practically stomping in with hiking boots and declaring your deep appreciation for Disney’s more underrated animated films. The embroidery gives the bag a more polished, collectible feel than a standard printed backpack. It also has a slightly roomier shape, which is good news for anyone carrying a portable charger, sunscreen, hand sanitizer, sunglasses, three emergency snacks, and the deeply seeded resentment that Disney still has not built a Joanna meet-and-greet. ©Amazon The earthy colors make this backpack especially wearable for fall, but it could easily work year-round. It would look right at home in Animal Kingdom, Disney Springs, or on the back of someone calmly explaining why The Rescuers Down Under deserves more attention than it received. view ON AMAZON Loungefly Disney The Rescuers Down Under Crossbody Bag Frank fans, your moment has arrived. This Disney Loungefly The Rescuers Down Under Round Crossbody Bag is shaped around Frank — the frantic frill-necked lizard who spends much of the movie trying to escape McLeach’s collection of captive animals. His neck frill extends beyond the body of the bag, creating a dimensional effect that is exactly the kind of wonderfully unnecessary detail we expect from Loungefly. Bernard and Miss Bianca appear as debossed designs behind him, and the back includes additional detailing with the silhouette of an albatross. Amazon A crossbody can be a great option when you want something smaller than a backpack but still need enough room for your phone, wallet, keys, and one snack you swear you are saving for later. Frank is an especially fun choice for Disney adults who want character merchandise that is not instantly recognizable to every person standing near them. This bag rewards the fans who know. Everyone else may simply wonder why you are carrying a panicked Australian lizard. view ON AMAZON These bags are nostalgic, delightfully specific, and different from the designs you see during every trip through the parks. Now we simply need Loungefly to finish the job — give Joanna her own bag, give her an egg-shaped coin purse, and give her a backpack with a movable jaw and a lining covered in stolen eggs. We have waited long enough. Be sure to check Amazon for the latest prices and availability, since both can change at any time. And keep following Disney Food Blog for more Disney merchandise, Amazon finds, and important discussions about unfairly overlooked animated reptiles. View the full article

Disney’s Wilderness Lodge is home to some serious hidden gems! Dopey! From its gorgeous, rustic theming to relaxing boat transportation directly to Magic Kingdom, there’s TONS to love about Wilderness Lodge. In fact, this hotel has so many incredible features that some of our favorite details still fly under the radar! Let’s talk about three things at Wilderness Lodge that lots of people don’t know about…but definitely should! Meet Rare Characters at Story Book Dining at Artist Point There’s no shortage of great dining at Wilderness Lodge, including Story Book Dining at Artist Point! The restaurant features a prix fixe meal and a gorgeous atmosphere themed after Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. Storybook Dining at Artist Point We’ve been seriously impressed with the meals we’ve had here in the past, both in terms of taste and presentation. Desserts! As if the stellar food and magical atmosphere weren’t enough, it’s also a character meal! As you might have guessed, given the theme, Snow White makes appearances throughout the evening. And, while Snow White herself tends to pop up at several other places around Disney World, she’s also joined by some of her much harder-to-find friends! Snow White at Storybook Dining Both Dopey and Grumpy stop by throughout the meal as well, along with Snow White herself. Plus, The Evil Queen is available for a unique photo opportunity…if you dare! That means you can meet THREE rare characters — Dopey, Grumpy, and The Evil Queen — plus the popular princess Snow White for good measure! Evil Queen at Storybook Dining at Artist Point If you’re a Disney character enthusiast, that’s too good an opportunity to pass up! Make sure you snag an Advance Dining Reservation if Storybook Dining at Artist Point is on your must-do list. Waterfront View of Nighttime Entertainment from Geyser Point Bar & Grill Speaking of fabulous dining options, Geyser Point Bar & Grill offers hearty appetizers, full entrees, and an incredible cocktail menu with unique drinks, all in a relaxing, open-air setting! Geyser Point Food During the day, you can enjoy the chill waterfront atmosphere. But at night, the Geyser Point ambiance gets even better! You may be able to spot some views of the Magic Kingdom fireworks, depending on where you’re sitting. Plus, you can get a great view of the Electrical Water Pageant as it floats by each night! Electrical Water Pageant Geyser Point offers both table service dining and plenty of bar seating, so you can take advantage of the views whether you’re in the mood for a full meal or just a nightcap! Fire Rock Geyser Eruptions The theming of Wilderness Lodge is inspired by America’s National Parks and their classic lodges. You’ll find tons of gorgeous details around the hotel that speak to the theme, like a massive gathering fireplace, hand-carved totem poles, and even a “hot spring” right next to the lobby. Wilderness Lodge Lobby Water features play a pretty significant role in the hotel’s theming, and one of the absolute coolest of those is Fire Rock Geyser. Inspired by Yellowstone National Park’s Old Faithful, Fire Rock Geyser “erupts” every hour on the hour throughout the day, sending water 120 feet into the air! Fire Rock Geyser We could spend all day taking in all of the beautiful, rustic details around Wilderness Lodge, but our exploration wouldn’t be complete without catching an eruption from Fire Rock Geyser! Disney World is full of hidden details and under-the-radar gems, so stay tuned to Disney Food Blog to make sure you don’t miss out on any must-dos when planning your next vacation! 6 Tips for Having the BEST STAY EVER at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge Join the DFB Newsletter to get all the breaking news right in your inbox! In case you missed it, a new restaurant is coming to Disney World! Six Ravens Six Ravens is opening (hopefully) soon in Disney Springs! The new restaurant, which was created by the owners of Gideon’s Bakehouse, is going to offer savory bites that we can’t wait to try. After getting a glimpse at their new menu, there was one thing we noticed that made our entire team say, “Six Ravens just GETS US!” There really is something so important about feeling seen. When we’re in Disney World, we can relax with people who are just like us! We’re finding the magic and joy together in ways that not everyone worldwide can understand. Now, it seems like Disney World’s newest restaurant really sees us. They see how much we want, no NEED, sauce. This isn’t even a joke; we are dead serious about this! Six Ravens in Disney Springs Six Ravens will offer seven different savory coffyns, which are essentially hand pies. What’s super cool is that coffyn pastries were originally a specific, medieval English type of dough, so they’re very on theme. We are seriously excited about these savory bites, but one line in the restaurant’s Instagram post has us buzzing with excitement. Online, Six Ravens wrote, “Every Coffyn purchase will include a HEALTHY dose of dipping sauce! No baby cups here!” They are speaking music to our ears! ©Six Ravens In the post, they shared a photo of some of the new treats with those BIG cups of sauce on display. Why does this matter? We have spent the last 15+ years in Disney World ordering and paying for extra sauce. At Casey’s Corner, we pay an extra $1 for cheese sauce. At Gaston’s Tavern, we always ask for extra icing for our giant Cinnamon Roll. At Ronto Roasters, we always pay the upcharge for extra peppercorn sauce! We are VERY serious about our sauce. Get the extra sauce!!! That’s why this short but mighty sentence has us reeling! It feels like Six Ravens has seen us and heard our complaints. All seven coffins come with a sauce, which also feels like a big win in our book. The coffyns, which have been created alongside several local businesses, include: The Peasant’s Patty: A Classic Cheeseburger topped with American Cheese, Dill Pickle Bits, encased in a Sesame Seed sprinkled Coffyn. Pairing: Pink Salamander Dipping Sauce. Collaboration with @thepinksalamander! The Villain of Valentina: House Basil Pesto Chicken, Balsamic Tomatoes, and all the Kingdom’s Garlic, trapped in a Herb Panko-splashed Coffyn. Pairing: Bruno’s Garlic Knot Sauce. Collaboration with @pizzabrunofl The Wizard’s Wonder: Mac & Cheese balanced with diced Pickled Poblano Peppers, BBQ Pulled Pork, shrouded in a BBQ Crumb covered Coffyn. Pairing: Prince Donut’s Smoke & Cherry BBQ Sauce Collaboration with @smokeanddonuts The Imperial Idol: Mildly Spicy Chicken with Potato & Carrot Coconut Curry, in a Fried Garlic-covered Coffyn, harmonizing to create this flavorful offering. Pairing: Red Panda’s Dipping Sauce Collaboration with @redpandanoodle The Moreish Monk: Middle Ages Grilled Cheese using Vermont White Cheddar, Havarti cheese, and House Tomato Jam wrapped in a Parmesan-smothered Coffyn. Pairing: Wolf Peach Dipping Sauce The Forager’s Find: Our Spiced Roasted Sweet Potatoes, Black Bean Corn Salsa, and Queso Cotija in a Pumpkin Seed-topped Coffyn. Pairing: Tropic of Mango Aioli Dip ©Six Ravens Every coffyn has its own sauce? Have we died and gone to heaven? It certainly feels like it! In addition to the coffyns, you can also grab Tell Tale Tatties, which are a mini bucket of baked smashed potatoes seasoned with the King’s spices and served with Realm Famous Honey Mustard. That’s right, MORE SAUCE! ©Six Ravens If you don’t want to grab your Gideon cookies by walking over to the bakery but you still want something sweet, you can also grab The Tarts Tempest. This is a Gideon’s Chocolate Chip Cookie Tart filled with Rich Chocolate Fudge & topped with house Raspberry Jam. We can already tell this will be a popular spot in Disney World, and you can bet we will be there with all of the sauces to try them all. It feels like permits have been filed for projects at Disney World left, right, and center during 2026. Now, we have another permit to tell you about! Toy Story Land New lands are being built in Magic Kingdom, Disney’s Animal Kingdom, and Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Walt Disney Imagineers have been hard at work all year long, and this is only the beginning of some massive projects. On top of the big stuff, we’ve seen small refurbishments and changes take place as well. We have word on a new project, and we’re sharing it with you! Walt Disney Imagineering just filed a permit to “install signage” at Alien Swirling Saucers in Toy Story Land at Hollywood Studios. The permit contracts Design Communications Ltd., the company that has been involved in a few projects at Disney World this year. They created signage for the reimagined Animation Courtyard (Walt Disney Studios), updated Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, and the new version of Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin. Alien Swirling Saucers Unfortunately, we don’t have much information on what’s actually at play here other than signage being installed. The notice doesn’t provide details about the signage, but we’re thinking it could be related to a set installation permit that was filed in May, as well as changes to the loading procedures at Alien Swirling Saucers. Alien Swirling Saucers The ride now uses a numbered system, with numbered stars in the holding area and freshly numbered vehicles. We’re thinking that the new signage being installed could be put in place to further explain the new loading procedure to guests. Alien Swirling Saucers The permit doesn’t state when work will begin to install the new signage. We’re not sure if it’ll take some time or if the attraction will need to close; there just isn’t a lot of detail right now. We’ll be keeping an eye out for more news surrounding the attraction in Toy Story Land. Alien Swirling Saucers Another change in Hollywood Studios to be aware of is that the fireworks are shifting to an earlier time. Starting on Sunday, August 23rd, the 9 PM showing of Fantasmic! will begin half an hour earlier at 8:30 PM. On select nights with an extra showing at 10:30 PM, this show will also be moved up a half-hour to begin at 10 PM sharp. Fantasmic! When it comes to vacations, cruising is one of our favorite ways to relax! ©Ron Buskirk/UCG/Universal Images Group via Getty There are tons of different cruising companies we love to travel with, from Disney to Princess Cruises to Virgin Cruises; there is a little something for everyone. If you’re planning on sailing with Royal Caribbean any time soon, you should know that they have extended their suspension of a popular destination. Royal Caribbean cruises still won’t be heading to its private beach resort at Labadee, Haiti. The extension continues due to safety concerns in the area, according to People. The cruise line has confirmed it won’t be stopping at its private destination even further into 2027. The confirmation comes after Royal Caribbean canceled all stops to Labadee until January 14, 2027. ©Credit: Ron Buskirk/UCG/Universal Images Group via Getty A spokesperson for the company confirmed the extension through June 2027, saying the decision comes after evaluating the conditions in Haiti and the company’s “ability to deliver the best vacations responsibly.” The statement continued to share that this decision was made with the safety of guests and crew members on Royal Caribbean ships and that the company communicated the changes with guests directly. ©Royal Caribbean The team members who work for Royal Caribbean in Labadee will be put in different positions within the company throughout the suspension. Safety concerns in the area have been ongoing for several years. The U.S. State Department currently has a Level 4: Do Not Travel advisory issued for the area. Haiti has been in a national state of emergency since March 2024. ©Royal Caribbean According to the State Department, “violent crime is rampant” throughout the country due to “an increase in gangs, organized crimes, and terrorist activities.” These issues have caused hospitals and clinics in the area to experience limited trained staff and resource issues. Local law enforcement is experiencing an “extremely limited ability to respond to serious crimes.” Be sure to keep following DFB for more travel news, updates, and more. The Magic Kingdom has pretty steadily been the world’s most popular theme park since it opened in 1971, and remains so to this day, as anyone who’s been during a crowded day can attest. In turn, the park’s most popular rides draw huge crowds, and their Lightning Lanes sell out FAST. But which ride is most in demand? You might be surprised. Cinderella Castle in Magic Kingdom Before we begin, let’s have a quick rundown of how Disney’s Lightning Lane Multi Pass system works: This skip-the-line service allows guests to plan ahead of their visit and choose up to 3 experiences — one Tier 1 and two Tier 2 options at their designated park — and arrival windows each day (7 days in advance of their stay for Disney hotel guests and 3 days in advance for non-hotel guests). Now that we’ve established how the Multi Pass System works, let’s look at what attractions currently have the highest demand at the “Most Magical Place on Earth” right now! According to our wait times data, the toughest Lightning Lane to get at the Magic Kingdom in the summer of 2026 is Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. On average, with all pre-bookings taken into account, all available Lightning Lanes for the attraction are usually gone by 9:07 AM each day, less than 10 minutes after the park opened to the general public. Big Thunder Mountain entrance. So, why is the iconic e-ticket so popular right now? A mixture of pent-up demand and a desire to see something new. This past May, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad reopened after a refurbishment that lasted more than a year. The legendary e-ticket now features updated tracks and trains that “preserve the attraction’s classic storytelling and trademark hootin’ an’ hollerin’ energy” while improving the ride experience. These changes — and a “comprehensive review from their safety teams” — have even allowed Disney to lower the ride’s height requirement from 40 inches to 38 inches, opening the ride up to even more potential guests. Big Thunder Mountain While Big Thunder’s Lightning Lane Multi Passes run out by far faster than any other ride in the park, there are still other attractions that run relatively early in the day on average, including the following: Tiana’s Bayou Adventure generally runs out around 11 AM The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh generally runs out around 1:45 PM The Jungle Cruise generally runs out around 2 PM Lightning Lane for Tiana’s Bayou Adventure Beyond these attractions, no other Lightning Lane Multi Pass eligible attractions run out of passes before the evening hours, if at all, on average. Also, we should remind you that neither TRON Lightcycle / Run nor Seven Dwarfs Mine Train offers a Multi Pass option. Both of those popular attractions only offer Single Pass Lightning Lane options, so these are not part of our calculations. TRON Lightcycle / Run Thanks to a long refurbishment that breathed new life into the classic e-ticket, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad is currently the hardest Lightning Lane Multi Pass to get in the Magic Kingdom. Stay tuned to DFB for more updates on Walt Disney World’s most in-demand rides. 5 Previously Impossible Magic Kingdom Lightning Lanes That Are Easy Now Join the DFB Newsletter to get all the breaking news right in your inbox! There are LOTS of changes going on around Disney World these days! What’s going on here? The theme parks are expanding, new hotels are on the way, and Disney Springs is even getting new restaurants! It’s safe to say there’s been a lot of “new” over the last few years. That’s why we were seriously surprised when we saw something we had never seen before outside of the park! While Disney World is the most magical place on earth, that doesn’t mean it’s without its issues. During our stop by Animal Kingdom the other day, we were over by the bus stop area waiting to head to our next park. The wait was a little longer than usual (which can happen and it’s why we tell you to budget extra time), but it was when the bus arrived that things got interesting! The bus stop As people on the bus started disembarking, we noticed several guest relations Cast Members waiting at the exit of the bus. At first, we weren’t really sure what was going on, so we put on our journalism boots and got to work. Our first hunch was that this incident was connected to the Disney Springs transportation changes, but that didn’t make a ton of sense to us. The lines After talking to Cast Members, we found out that these guests were getting a Lightning Lane Experience Redemption Pass. Typically, that’s one free skip-the-line pass for select attractions around the theme parks. While this sounds exciting, it was actually due to major bus delays around the resort! A Cast Member shared with us that there was an accident on the roads which caused a delay. While the Cast Member wasn’t 100% sure how long the delay was, he confirmed it had to have been a notable delay for Guest Relations to give those on the bus an experience redemption pass. A Guest Relations Cast Member The Cast Member confirmed this isn’t common practice for small delays, so don’t get your hopes up that a heavy traffic day will result in a free Lightning Lane. We have seen something similar in the past over at the Ticket and Transportation Center when the monorail broke down, keeping passengers stuck inside the transportation option without air conditioning. Disney deployed Guest Relations Cast Members then to also give those impacted by the unexpected stop an experience redemption Pass. We have never seen this happen with the buses, though! The closed monorail In Disney World, Cast Members do their best to help make up for almost any negative situation that might impact your park day, like this one. You might also get a Lightning Lane experience redemption pass when a ride you have paid for is closed during your return window. This will allow you to come back and ride that attraction later when it opens without a wait, or you can choose another ride to skip that line at. If you’re ever in a situation like this one, stuck on your way to the next stop for a seriously long time, be sure to talk with Guest Relations Cast Members once you arrive. If you’re on the verge of missing a dining reservation, you can always call the restaurant to let them know what the situation is. As always, be sure to keep following DFB for more Disney news, updates, and more. 10 Major Changes Coming to Disney World in August Join the DFB Newsletter to get all the breaking news right in your inbox! Together, these destinations provide guests with opportunities to experience the spirit of The Bahamas while investing in local communities, businesses, and conservation efforts. These efforts are being recognized across the industry, as Disney Cruise Line was recently named the highest-ranked cruise line on the Forbes 2026 Best Brands for Social Impact list, which ranks companies based on social stances, sustainability, and community support. Celebrating Bahamian Heritage and Communities Disney Cruise Line helps youth, families, and communities throughout The Bahamas through programs that celebrate the culture and traditions of the islands, expand educational opportunities, create pathways to future careers, and aids in times of need. Celebrating Bahamian Culture: At Disney Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point, Disney Cruise Line celebrates and helps preserve Bahamian culture through experiences like Rush! A Junkanoo Celebration — developed with the National Junkanoo Committee and featuring local performers, music, and traditions — and the Goombay Cultural Center, where guests can learn about Bahamian history, crafts, and artistry. Bethel High School. These gardens provide hands-on learning opportunities while helping increase access to fresh produce. Disney Cruise Line also supports the Bahamas Feeding Network through volunteer initiatives and financial contributions, including an annual $50,000 donation that helps sustain year-round operations and address food insecurity. Empowering the Next Generation: Through partnerships with organizations including Junior Achievement Bahamas and LJM Maritime Academy, Disney Cruise Line helps Bahamian students develop practical skills and explore career opportunities in the hospitality and maritime industries. Disney Cruise Line also partners with the University of The Bahamas’ Continuing Education and Lifelong Learning (CELEARN) program through the Leading Light Programme, providing college-level hospitality and leadership training at no cost to residents of Eleuthera. The Power of Play: Disney Cruise Line’s ‘The Play Project’ helps create and improve safe spaces where children can play, learn, and connect. Backing Conservation Through Grants: The Disney Conservation Fund provided more than 80 grants totaling over $6.5 million to support 24 local conservation initiatives in The Bahamas. Investments and expert guidance from the Disney Conservation Fund help local organizations protect wildlife, preserve habitats, and inspire future generations of environmental stewards. Disney Cruise Line prioritizes reducing emissions and minimizing waste while also conserving the natural beauty of its island destinations in many ways. Preserving Natural Landscapes: Most of the land at both Disney Castaway Cay and Disney Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point remains undeveloped, helping preserve native habitats and minimize disruption to local ecosystems. Solar Energy: On-site solar installations help support renewable energy and operational energy needs at both island destinations. Nearly 12,000 solar panels create a capacity of 3,900 kilowatts across Disney Castaway Cay and Disney Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point. Reducing Single-Use Plastics: Disney Cruise Line has eliminated nearly all single-use plastics onboard its ships and at its island destinations in The Bahamas. Recycling Used Cooking Oil: Used cooking oil from Disney Cruise Line operations is collected and recycled in port communities, including Nassau, where it is repurposed into fuels and other products. Dedicated Environmental Leadership: Island Environmental Managers oversee sustainability initiatives, environmental compliance and crew training programs to help reach Disney Cruise Line’s environmental goals. Inspiring Environmental Awareness: Guests can participate in educational programs led by experts to learn more about protecting natural environments and wildlife in The Bahamas. Disney Castaway Cay and Disney Lookout Cay: Disney Cruise Line’s Island Destinations in The Bahamas Disney Castaway Cay Located in the Abaco island chain, Disney Castaway Cay spans more than 1,000 acres. A large portion of the island remains undeveloped and preserved, with guest activities concentrated in a limited area to help minimize environmental impact. Disney Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point Located on the island of Eleuthera, Disney Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point is a 900-acre island destination that celebrates the culture and natural beauty of The Bahamas. Disney Cruise Line developed less than 16% of the site, leaving the overwhelming majority of the land in its natural state. Sustainable design practices and wildlife conservation efforts help protect the surrounding environment while creating immersive experiences rooted in Bahamian culture. From Disney Castaway Cay to Disney Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point, Disney Cruise Line’s presence in The Bahamas reflects its commitment to community support, conservation, sustainability, and economic opportunity — creating meaningful local impact while sharing the spirit and natural beauty of The Bahamas with guests. If you’re flying to Florida soon, you need to be aware of your airport’s policies before you travel. ©Tampa International Airport What do you need to board your flight? What are the luggage regulations? What items do you need to remove from your person or bag to go through security? All great questions! And if you’re flying through one Florida airport, you should know that security is about to CHANGE. According to CNN, Tampa International Airport is going to privatize Transportation Security Administration operations. This decision comes a few months after President Trump revealed a 2027 budget proposal that called for handing more airport security operations over to private companies. ©Tampa International Airport Tampa International Airport (TPA) has opted in to the TSA Gold+ program, which is a new public/private partnership screening program. TSA will still have regulatory oversight for TPA’s screening programs, and those screenings will still have to follow TSA rules, but the employees and equipment involved will be managed by a third-party company instead of the United States government. ©AP “TSA looks forward to working closely with our airport partners to implement enhancements that will benefit everyone who travels through a TSA Gold+ airport,” the agency said in a statement Tuesday. Participation in this program is voluntary and requires airports to apply. At this time, two other airports are taking steps to privatize security under TSA Gold+ — Charleston International Airport in South Carolina, and Des Moines International Airport in Iowa. PreCheck signage Currently, 20 airports in the U.S. have security run by private companies and supervised by TSA under the Screening Partnership Program. That list includes the Orlando Sanford Airport, as well as San Francisco International, Kansas City International, and 17 other smaller airports. Orlando Sanford Airport Privatizing security operations has become a major talking point in recent months, particularly when government shutdowns continued to interrupt air travel operations at many major hubs. However, the move is not without its controversy. The union that supports over 47,000 TSA employees, American Federation of Government Employees, has spoken out against this change. “Make no mistake – this is a major departure and step backwards from the aviation screening security system that Congress created in the wake of the Sept. 11th terrorist attacks in 2001 and the deadly bombing of Pan Am Flight 103 over Scotland in 1988,” Everett Kelley, AFGE’s national president, said in a statement. “Changes of this magnitude should not be made behind closed doors without the input of Congress, the flying public, the local airport authorities, and TSA employees themselves.” Ready to fly? It’s my job to uncover all the nonsense happening in EPCOT’s itty bitty city. Welcome to Tiny Train Town! Hi! If we haven’t met, my name is Lydia, and I’m the DFB-proclaimed Mayor of Tiny Train Town in EPCOT’s Germany Pavilion. Over the years, I’ve seen some serious shenanigans and malarkey in that village, and I’m getting to the bottom of it. So come along with me to see what’s happening in the triple-T recently! Let’s start things out with this suspicious character I spotted in the village square. She may seem like she’s birdwatching, but this not-so-innocent woman was caught with hundreds of surveillance photos from around our town! Is she in cahoots with someone? Where are those photos going? What is their PURPOSE? I must find out! A spy?! Speaking of suspicious things, I noticed several people coming in and out of this unmarked building at strange times of the day and night. This was an old train depot that’s no longer in use, and the building was vacated years ago. So what’s going on? Well, thankfully, this one wasn’t sinister at all! Upon further investigation, there’s a secret acapella group that meets inside here in the late evenings and early mornings outside of their regular work hours. Apparently, the acoustics inside are phenomenal. They’re looking for an alto…anyone interested?! Suspicious! However, that was pretty much the only bit of happy news I have this week. One of the town doctors has been arrested for medical malpractice after it was discovered that his credentials are FAKE. Could he be working with our sneaky spy with the camera? I’m starting to think there’s some kind of undercover operation going on here. NOT a real doctor! Also, there have been mass reports of livestock deaths in recent weeks. Last year, we dealt with a tainted food source for many of the farms, but this year, autopsies have revealed poison blow darts to be the cause of death! Someone is quite literally shooting down the cows of the village from the rooftops. Only one farm seems to be unaffected at this time…could that be the culprit? Those poor cows! I’ll be digging deeper into these mysteries in the hopes of getting some answers, so subscribe to our newsletter for more updates! * The anarchy within is mostly created by natural occurrences, like giant squirrels, wind, rain, and relatively godzilla-sized lizards who frequent the town; but we find it fun and entertaining to make up fictional stories about what COULD be happening. We are grateful to the folks who create and maintain this Tiny Train Town for Disney World, as it’s one of our favorite parts of EPCOT and always has been. See Another Tiny Train Town Update Here! The popular book-turned-show seemed to garner positive critical acclaim quickly. ©Disney With so much success, fans were thrilled when a second season was announced, and now it seems like we haven’t seen the last of Percy Jackson and his pals, as we officially know when the third season will be released on Disney+. Not only that, but we’ve got a first look at a new teaser trailer! The news was revealed during a San Diego Comic Con panel, and fans went wild, according to Deadline. They were also treated to the first few minutes of footage from Season 3. ©Disney Season 3 of Percy Jackson will be the first time that the third book in author Rick Riordan’s series has been adapted for the screen. The previous film adaptations ended with Sea of Monsters, so fans are thrilled to see this book come to life for the first time. In The Titan’s Curse, the series darkens and matures as Percy and his friends become more involved in the war between the gods. The official description of Season 3 reads, “Percy Jackson is on a dangerous quest. Outrunning monsters and outwitting gods, he must journey across America to return Zeus’ master bolt and stop an all-out war. In news shocking to no one who’s been to Disney World before, Central Florida can get HOT, especially during the summer. Tiana’s Bayou Adventure When we find ourselves baking in the heat at the Magic Kingdom, these are the rides and spaces we go to cool down and recharge. Hall of Presidents When it comes to “Magic Kingdom shows to get out of the heat,” Liberty Square’s Hall of Presidents is probably the first show that comes to mind for many (at least while the Carousel of Progress is on the refurbishment list). This patriotic pageant featuring animatronics of every U.S. President has been a refuge from the climate for over 50 years now. Plus, if you don’t want to see the show, you can still enjoy the air-conditioned atrium and gallery. The Hall of Presidents atrium 3 Snacks Announced for Magic Kingdom Including NEW Churros Country Bear Musical Jamboree Just down the road from the Hall of Presidents, there’s Frontierland’s Country Bear Musical Jamboree. The newest version of the iconic show features the original bears belting out well-known Disney songs, all in air-conditioned glory. In other words, if you want to cool down in a dark theater but would prefer animatronic bears to animatronic presidents, this is probably the spot for you. Country Bear Jamboree 4 New Rules For Magic Kingdom in 2027 Columbia Harbour House Columbia Harbour House provides an air-conditioned space to dine on a quick-service New England menu of fish and chicken. In particular, sitting upstairs provides a place to cool down and people-watch on the Haunted Mansion queue. Dining area at Columbia Harbour House Adults Are Secretly Ordering THESE Kid’s Meals at Magic Kingdom Mickey’s PhilharMagic While the Hall of Presidents and the Country Bear Musical Jamboree may be the cool-down shows of choice for Gen. X members, Elder Millennial hearts likely belong to Fantasyland’s Mickey’s PhilharMagic. Air conditioning? Check. 3D Representations of some of the biggest films of the Disney Renaissance? Check. A soundtrack of classic songs? Check. It’s kind of a paradise for park-goers born from the late 1980s to the early 2000s. Mickey’s PhilharMagic Disney World’s Wait Times Are Heating Up Along with the Temperature Eating upstairs at Pinocchio Village Haus Remaining in Fantasyland, guests looking to have a bite to eat while escaping the heat can head up the second floor of Pinocchio’s Village Haus to enjoy a meal. Plus, they’ll have a view of… Upstairs at Pinocchio “it’s a small world” When it comes to the best Disney World rides to beat the heat, Pinocchio Village Haus’s neighbor, “it’s a small world” might be the top option. It’s air-conditioned, floating on water, and lasts between 12 and 15 minutes. Of course, it might depend on just how much of a tolerance level one has for the classic (but repetitive) song. “it’s a small world” This Disney World Ride Will Be Closed for Refurbishment in August 2026 PeopleMover While the PeopleMover isn’t air-conditioned and takes place mainly outdoors, the attraction’s constant motion means riders experience a perpetual “breeze.” Of course, the only danger there is if it breaks down. PeopleMover 8 Disney Ride CHANGES Confirmed for November Tiana’s Bayou Adventure Swinging back over to Frontierland, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is certainly the most thrilling way to beat the heat thanks to its air-conditioned interior sections, as well as the final drop and its massive — and on a hot day, massively refreshing — splash. Tiana’s Bayou Adventure We’ve Got a Big Update on the “Cars” Land Coming To Magic Kingdom DOLE Whip in the Enchanted Tiki Room Finally, there’s the iconic combination of a DOLE Whip (personally, I go for the float) and a seat watching the Enchanted Tiki Room in all its air-conditioned glory. Few Magic Kingdom experiences can top it. A DOLE Whip in the Tiki Room Next time you find yourself sweating under the Magic Kingdom sun, head to some of our favorite spots to cool off! Hey Marvel fans, Deadpool’s story isn’t done quite yet! ©Marvel It was recently announced by Deadpool himself, Ryan Reynolds, that another Deadpool movie will be coming to the big screen…at some point. With two big Marvel movies coming out this year, and another massive one on the way next year, we know there is a lot up in the air for the plans of Marvel Studios. Recently during a panel at Fanatics Fest over the weekend, Ryan Reynolds confirmed that there will “eventually” be another movie starring the iconic Marvel antihero, but it may revolve around “deep cuts” from the character’s comics, according to Variety. ©Marvel “There’s a few really deep cuts that I think are missing from the movies. I think there’s a few deep cuts missing from some of the comics,” Reynolds told moderator Nature Luvz You. “There’s certainly some stuff that I love that [Deadpool co-creator] Fabian [Nicieza] wrote that is incredible [and] Gerry Duggan, another friend and incredible comic writer, that we can put in. But then there’s stuff upcoming. There’s eventually, you know, remotely another ‘Deadpool’ film. So it’s going to be great.” ©Marvel Reynolds mentioned before that he already started writing the return of Deadpool to the big screen, but the main focus wouldn’t be on him. “I have some stuff kind of written, but I don’t think I am ever going to center him again,” Reynolds said. “He is a supporting character. He is a guy who is great in a group.” ©Marvel Although it’s not confirmed, there’s a chance we might see Deadpool before his next movie. Avengers: Doomsday releases to theatres on December 18th, and we know it’s going to be the start of a multiversal battle. That movie will lead into Avengers: Secret Wars, which releases in 2027. That next movie WILL be a multiversal battle. So, there’s a chance that Deadpool could appear in either of those movies, but nothing has been confirmed. ©Marvel Studios In an interview in 2024, Reynolds talked about how he’d love to cross paths with the Avengers and X-Men, but wouldn’t want to join the team. “If he becomes either, we’re at the end,” Reynolds said. “Deadpool works so well appearing with the X-Men and Avengers, but he always needs to stay an outsider. His ultimate dream is to be accepted and appreciated. But he can’t be accepted. His coping mechanism of deflecting shame through humor works only when used to pave over his many inadequacies. If and when he does become an Avenger or X-Man, we’re at the end of his journey.” ©Marvel We’d love to see another Deadpool movie in the future, and it sounds like we will. It’ll be interesting to see what happens with Marvel in the future.
