We’ll admit that when it comes to breakfasts in Disney World, we’re more the type of people who will grab a quick breakfast sandwich or pastry and a coffee so that we have just enough fuel to hit the ground running when we make it to the parks. Now, of course, we do occasionally enjoy a character breakfast, but we’re there more for the characters than the food. Time for breakfast! However, there’s one limited-time breakfast buffet in Disney World that we always make time for, although it’s pricey and can take up some valuable park time. However, we’ll always make a beeline to Chefs de France for the Parisian Breakfast that happens there during the EPCOT Food & Wine Festival. Now, a few things have changed about this breakfast this year, so does it still meet our high standards, and is it worth it? Let’s find out. Atmosphere In case you didn’t guess by its name, Chefs de France is located in the France Pavilion in EPCOT. The Parisian Breakfast is a special EPCOT Food & Wine Festival offering that opens with the park at 9 AM and ends at 10:30 AM. So if you’re making your way to France for this buffet, we suggest using the International Gateway entrance as it’s closer to the France Pavilion. Unlike at other parks, an early breakfast reservation won’t get you into the park early unless you have Early Theme Park Entry. Chefs de France Once you get inside the restaurant, you’ll see plenty of seating with tables and chairs. There are several dining spaces available, including two sunrooms. Some booth seating is also available. Dining room Once your table is ready, you’ll be taken to your table. One thing that we noticed immediately is just how quiet it was inside the restaurant. This could be one of the more chill dining experiences in Disney World. Our table The buffet itself has two different sides, but both have the same food. Buffet But enough about the restaurant — what’s on the menu here?! Menu The buffet offers a large selection of baguettes, other breads, pastries, croissants, charcuterie, cheese, quiche, fresh fruit, and more. Now, in the past, you used to get unlimited mimosas, fruit juices, and freshly brewed coffee. However, now, you only get one free mimosa, and each additional one costs $4.99. So you’ll need to add that to the $67.95 price tag, which is up several dollars from last year. Drinks To drink, we started with the one free mimosa (remember that you no longer get unlimited mimosas). It tastes like sparkling citrus juice with a hint of alcoholic kick that tickles your nose. Now, we’ve had our share of mimosas across Disney World, and we’ll say that this could be one of the tastiest we’ve had. Mimosa Okay, on to the food! Eats Let’s start with the pastries. We started with this Chocolate Chip Pastry, which was soft and fluffy, but still had a thick amount of dough. It was basically like biting into a heavy cloud covered in chocolate chips. It was DELICIOUS. So yep, we’re already starting out strong. Chocolate chips make everything better There is NOTHING like biting into a fresh Baguette, and the ones here are SO satisfying. They’re crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. We’re big fans of the baguettes in the France Pavilion, so we’re not surprised we loved this. Baguette The Croissants here are always so good, and we’d honestly give it some kind of award if we could. The croissant we had was fresh and fluffy with that crunchy crust and that soft middle. It’s buttery and flaky and everything you want in a croissant. Croissant The Pain au Chocolat is also delicious. It’s croissant-like, with those buttery and flaky layers, but inside is some lovely bites of chocolate. It’s not TOO much chocolate, though. It’s just enough to add flavor, but the pastry is still the star. Pain au Chocolat We’ll admit that we kept going back for the Bacon and Egg Pastry. We really expected that the pastry would overpower the eggs and bacon, but the eggs in this baby are what make it SO GOOD. They’re cooked perfectly and are nice and firm, so they stay inside the pastry. Now, we didn’t get a lot of bacon flavor, but we didn’t mind that too much because the rest was so good. Bacon and Egg Pastry There was also a Mini Ham and Cheese Sandwich. Now, granted, this is pretty basic compared to everything else on the buffet, and it was basically just a butter-toasted mini sandwich. It does have a nice crunch and some lovely contrasting textures, but overall, this wasn’t our favorite thing on the buffet. Mini Ham and Cheese Sandwich The Chocolate Raspberry Pastry is just the perfect combo of two flavors that go so well together. This is a great sweet treat to have for breakfast. The pastry has a nice crunch to it, and then you bite into the soft middle. The sweetness and tartness from the raspberries paired with the dark chocolate just make this a very well-balanced pastry. Chocolate Raspberry Pastry The Croque Monsieur is nice and fresh and a better take on the whole ham and cheese situation. This is a very savory treat with the croissant having more of a background flavor to the flavors of the ham and cheese. This could be our second favorite thing we ate here. Croque Monsieur We would make several trips to the buffet for this one, too. Nosh or Not This Disney World restaurant is a must-visit if… It’s a special occasion. If you want to celebrate a birthday, anniversary, or other special occasion, this pricey buffet is good enough to make it feel extra special. You want a French breakfast with light bites. If you want to dine on traditional Parisian breakfast foods in a gorgeous French-inspired atmosphere, this buffet is a no-brainer. You want a quiet breakast. One thing we love about breakfast here is that it’s one of the quietest buffets we’ve ever been to. It’s a great way to start a relaxing morning in EPCOT. You should skip this Disney World spot if… You want a quick grab-and-go breakfast. If you just want to grab something to go or a quick bite to eat, you won’t find that here. Instead, head on over to the nearby Les Halles Boulangerie Patisserie. You’re on a budget. This breakfast isn’t inexpensive, and if you’re wanting a more budget-friendly meal, go elsewhere. You don’t want to fill up on a festival day. The problem with eating a big buffet breakfast during the EPCOT Food & Wine Festival is that you might fill up too much and not be able to tackle as many festival food booths. Overall Overall, despite the fact that the mimosas are no longer unlimited here, we still think this is a great option if you want to have a breakfast that feels a little extra special in EPCOT. The food is consistently high-quality and good. However, you do need to try to get here as quickly as possible in the morning, as it’s only available from 9 to 10:30 A.M., which doesn’t give you a lot of time to enjoy everything on the buffet. In the meantime, we’ll be on the lookout for more restaurant updates from Disney World and beyond. Make sure you stay tuned to the Disney Food Blog for the latest Disney news and more! Although fall pretty much starts for us as soon as the Halloween decorations go up in Disney World and the first Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party has happened, for many, fall begins with Starbucks releasing its seasonal menu of fall drinks and snacks, and this year, that menu dropped on August 25th. Starbucks’ fall menu is here! Yes, pumpkin spice latte season is back, and Starbucks’ new menu has dropped, but instead of the PSL this year, we decided to try something different, something we think we might just be going BANANAS over. We headed to Main Street Bakery, which is the Starbucks location for Magic Kingdom. There, we ordered the Iced Banana Bread Latte…and let’s just say the pumpkin spice latte has a NEW fall contender. If you love bananas, this drink is for you because that is the biggest flavor you’ll get. It really is like banana bread in liquid form. You even get a nice cinnamon creaminess from the cold foam on top. Then the blonde espresso flavor comes in with the banana. We’ll be ordering this drink ALL season long. Iced Banana Bread Latte Now, there are LOADS of other fall items at Starbucks right now, including all those pumpkin faves, like the pumpkin spice latte, the pumpkin creme cold brew, iced pumpkin cream chai, and more. The pecan flavors have also returned for the season, along with chaider, a twist on chai and cider. An iced banana bread chai is also available. Pumpkin Creme Cold Brew Fall foods have arrived as well, including the Hedgehog Cake Pop and the Chicken Bacon Protein Pocket. The Pumpkin Cream Cheese Muffin is also returning for the spooky season. Pumpkin Cream Cheese Muffin If you’re in Disney World and looking to try the new Starbucks menu out, you’ll find Starbucks at the following locations: Main Street Bakery in Magic Kingdom Connections Cafe in EPCOT Trolley Car Cafe in Disney’s Hollywood Studios Creature Comforts in Disney’s Animal Kingdom Starbucks at Disney Springs Marketplace Starbucks at Disney Springs West Side We’ll be back with even more fall food and drink reviews, so stay tuned to DFB for more. I’m not a pie person, and Knott’s Berry Farm’s Pie just made me one. Boysenberry Pie Knott’s Berry Farm has been synonymous with boysenberries since the fruit was practically invented on this very land, so it’s no surprise that pie is serious business at the Farm Bakery. With all the buzz, we knew we had to try it for ourselves, and we’re bringing you our honest review! We stopped by to try the Boysenberry Pie for $23.99 from Farm Bakery, and honestly? We walked in with zero expectations — we’re not even self-proclaimed pie people — and walked out converts. Let’s start with the crust, because it’s doing some heavy lifting here. It’s buttery and baked to a deep golden brown, with a level of crispness that never tips into dry. What really stood out was the thickness — both the top and bottom crusts have real substance to them, which can be a gamble. Too often a thick crust turns chewy or gummy, but this one holds its structure while staying tender all the way through. It’s clearly baked with care, and it does exactly what a good pie crust should do: soak up the filling and become part of the flavor instead of just a container for it. The perfect crust Speaking of the filling, it strikes a rare balance. It’s sweet, but balanced. Instead, it’s light, silky, and almost refreshing in the way it eats. If you want a flavor comparison, think of a less-sweet, more grown-up take on a Wild Berry Pop-Tart — that same juicy berry punch, just dialed back and given room to breathe. It’s the kind of filling that makes the crust-to-filling ratio actually matter, and here, it works in perfect harmony. The filling is perfectly balanced On the practical side, the full pie runs $23.99, but Farm Bakery also sells it by the individual slice, and that’s the move for most guests. Unless you’re rolling deep with a genuine pie-loving crew ready to split a whole pie, grab a single slice, savor it, and leave room for the dozen other snacks calling your name around the park. We’ll be dreaming about this pie! This is a Knott’s Berry Farm menu item that lives up to the brand’s berry-obsessed reputation, and it might just make a pie believer out of you too. The 2026 D23 Ultimate Fan Event was chock-full of major Disney theme park announcements, ranging from details on major projects and prospective opening timelines to shock teaser announcements that fans have waited years for. One of those teasers was for the long-awaited redo of Disneyland’s Tomorrowland, which has long been afflicted by the “Tomorrowland Problem” of a futuristic land quickly becoming outdated. View from Tomorrowland Skyline Lounge However, while that announcement was predictably well received, there was little detail on what the new Tomorrowland will specifically entail, and how much is changing. That’s gotten us wondering just how many of Tomorrowland’s older rides, attractions, and structures are going to survive into Disney’s latest take on the future. However, we’re not sure how much stock to put in the idea of Space Mountain being fully replaced, unless the Tomorrowland project is a full teardown of the land. That said, it wouldn’t be surprising if a TLC refurbishment project was in the cards. Disneyland Space Mountain Star Tours Speaking of groundbreaking attractions, let’s move over to Star Tours: The Adventure Continues. While a simulator experience set in a galaxy far, far away has been a Tomorrowland staple for 40 years, the reality is that having a Star Wars-themed ride in the land seems a bit redundant with Galaxy’s Edge on the other side of the park. Plus, the version of Star Tours currently operating is the early 2010s Adventure Continues version, which doesn’t elicit the same nostalgia. Star Tours It’s hard to say that removing Star Tours is “likely,” but it may be tempting for Disney given the large plot of land that the ride’s show building (which was once home to Adventure Thru Inner Space) takes up. Adventure Thru Inner Space ©D23 Autopia Perhaps no existing Tomorrowland attraction was thrown into flux by the D23 announcement more than Autopia. The ride is scheduled to replace its fleet of gas-powered vehicles by February 1st of next year. Is that still happening? Has it been canceled and the ride condemned to closure, or will the electric Autopia be the first element of the New Tomorrowland? Autopia Tomorrowland Theater Over the years, the space currently known as the Tomorrowland Theater has gone by several names — including the Magic Eye Theater — and incarnations while serving as the home of Magic Journeys, Captain EO, and Honey, I Shrunk the Audience. These days, the theater is only sporadically used for showings of things like the Pixar Short Film Festival, making it, perhaps, a prime candidate to be demolished for some of the “open spaces” Disney promised for the new Tomorrowland. Tomorrowland Theater Tomorrowland Expo Center Similar to the theater, the space currently known as the Tomorrowland Expo Center was once a hub of the land. The once-rotating building has hosted the Carousel of Progress, America Sings, Innoventions, and Star Wars: Launch Bay over the years. However, its current barely used state likely makes it a target for removal during a refurbishment. Disneyland Star Wars Launch Bay It remains to be seen how many, if any, of these rides, attractions, and structures are lost during the upcoming Disneyland Tomorrowland refurbishment. Stay tuned to DFB as more information is released on the project. Efteling, one of Europe’s most popular theme parks — and one of our favorites — just announced the official opening date for its newly refreshed land, Raveleijn! ©Efteling Earlier this year, the park confirmed major changes were coming to the Raveleijn area of the park, which they said would be “completely transformed with a new storyline, decor and impressive show effects,” including a new open-air “rotating flying experience” attraction. Now, we finally know when we can experience it — December 1st! Mark your calendars for December 1st, because that’s when Raveleijn will reopen at Efteling theme park! This newly refreshed land will feature a new attraction, a “rotating flying experience” that will allow visitors to “soar as if on the wings of ravens,” called Ravenring. Koen Sanders, Efteling’s Director of Product, Market & Image, described the new land in a press release, saying, “In line with our vision of full immersion, we are looking at the entire area surrounding the park show in this development. The story of Raveleijn lends itself perfectly to this.” Efteling Ravenring will be a horizontally rotating wheel in which 36 visitors per ride will take their seats in one of the 18 winged vehicles, inspired by the ravens of Raveleijn. The ride’s storyline revolves around recruiting “new heroes” to continue protecting the city of Raveleijn in the future by taking part in a “flying ritual reserved only for true heroes.” After their flight, guests will discover which of the five magical elements suits them best: blue for water, red for fire, green for wood, brown for earth, and purple for metal. The new attraction will be just outside the open-air arena, and the park show will undergo a complete transformation, meaning that it will be performed more often than ever before: several times a day and almost year-round. Park guests will also be able to eat breakfast, lunch, or dinner in Inn De Verslaeghen Draek, and shop for souvenirs at In den Ravenkorf. ©Efteling Efteling also recently announced another new ride, Missie Luminar. Missie Luminar will be the first suspended launch coaster at Efteling, where the vehicles hang below the track and are launched on takeoff. Riders will become “missionauts,” who start their expedition in a scientific institute. Here, riders will get instructions about the mission before boarding their vehicles with 17 other missionauts. ©Efteling The real adventure starts with a spectacular launch. The intense ride will last more than two minutes and will be full of speed, surprising elements, and several moments of weightlessness. Will you manage to reach the ultimate goal and break the light barrier? ©Efteling We’ll be on the lookout for additional Efteling updates you need to know about and more. If it feels like everything is under construction right now in Disney World…well, nearly everything IS under construction. You’ll be encountering construction everywhere, including in the parks and at the hotels. A lot is happening right now, including the construction of new lands and new rides, hotel renovations, and more. Ursula at Art of Animation We recently learned that Disney’s Art of Animation Resort would soon be getting room renovations, with work scheduled to begin in June 2027. Well, now we know when the room renovations should be complete. Planning a Disney World trip can be…a lot, but our friends at Small World Vacations can help you with all the details. And best of all, their services are 100% free! The room renovations at Disney’s Art of Animation Resort are expected to last through October 2028. The hotel will remain open during this time, and work will happen in phases, with one themed area being worked on at a time. That means you might see and hear construction work during daytime hours if you’re staying at the hotel. It also means that you may have to find alternate pathways to get around the resort, as well. Art of Animation The rooms at Art of Animation are themed to their specific areas, so The Little Mermaid part of the hotel has rooms that are themed around that movie. This is where you’ll find standard rooms at the hotel (although note that these are also the furthest rooms from the hotel lobby). ©Disney Meanwhile, the other rooms at the hotel are family suites. This includes the Cars part of the hotel, as well as the Finding Nemo and The Lion King-themed areas of the hotel. The Lion King-themed suite As the construction will be done in phases, this means that you may not encounter any construction if you’re staying in one of the themed areas that isn’t currently being worked on. Disney did not release any kind of schedule for when work will be done on each specific area, though, so if you think the construction might bother you during your stay, you may want to stay somewhere else. Finding Nemo Suite We’ll keep an eye out for more construction updates in Disney World, so stay tuned to DFB for more. Frontier, a UK-based video game developer, has just announced a new partnership with Disney to create a new game. ©Frontier Development While there aren’t many details on what exactly the game will entail, it will be fully funded by Frontier and will “build upon the company’s extensive experience and proven capabilities as a leader in the Creative Management Simulation (CMS) genre.” Frontier’s current CMS game lineup includes RollerCoaster Tycoon 3, Planet Coaster, Planet Zoo, and Jurassic World Evolution franchises, in addition to an unannounced Planet game in development. Cinderella Castle Chief Executive Officer of Frontier Developments, Jo Cooke, said, “We are delighted to announce this collaboration with Disney, which further reinforces our clearly defined strategy of developing and nurturing world-class creative management simulation game franchises. Our mission with this game is to connect a passionate creative community of players with one of the world’s most iconic and beloved brands, and I can’t wait to see what our talented teams will create with this amazing opportunity.” ©Frontier Development Does this finally mean we’re getting a Disney Parks RollerCoaster Tycoon-style game?! We know Disney fans would absolutely love getting to build their own version of Disney Parks and rides. Of course, as of now, there are few details about this game and what it will be about; we’re also hopeful that this partnership could mean more video game-style activities could be coming to Disney Parks. ©Frontier Development Back in August, it was announced that the Play Disney Parks app would be retiring in September 2026. The Play Disney Parks app powered many interactive games and experiences around both Disneyland and Disney World. This app had lots of trivia and games to play in line for attractions. However, it was best known for several interactive games, including Star Wars: Datapad, Batuu Bounty Hunters, and DuckTales World Showcase Adventure. These games allowed you to explore the parks and find actual hidden details that could interact with the app on your phone as you played the games. ©Disney As for how this new partnership with Frontier may impact the future of games in Disney Parks — if it will at all — remains to be seen. We’ll be on the lookout for additional updates about this new Disney partnership. In the meantime, make sure you stay tuned to the Disney Food Blog for the latest Disney news and more. A Disney World park practically empty — how is that even possible?!? Two Words: After Hours. EPCOT After Hours Disney World’s After Hours Events are separately ticketed events that allow guests to enjoy beloved attractions with lower wait times for an extra three hours after the park closes to the public, plus enjoy included snacks and drinks. Guests can enter the park at 7 PM, giving them a few extra hours in the park before the event even begins! We recently attended an After Hours Event at EPCOT, and we couldn’t believe how different the park felt! Before we get into some of our experiences, let’s have a quick rundown of what’s offered at the park during these events. Attractions generally scheduled to be available during EPCOT’s After Hours Events include: Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure Frozen Ever After Soarin’ Across America Gran Fiesta Tour Starring The Three Caballeros Living with the Land Mission: SPACE The Seas with Nemo & Friends Spaceship Earth Test Track In addition, there are free snack offerings, as well as some open merchandise and food locations, unique entertainment offerings, and character appearances scattered throughout the park. Alright, with that out of the way, let’s get down to the nitty-gritty of what it was like to be in the park during this event. After Hours It Felt “Empty” The biggest thing we noticed was just how empty the park felt, even compared to Hollywood Studios during an After Hours Event. This was mainly due to EPCOT’s massive size and layout, which leads to a much more spread-out crowd. Plus, the back half of World Showcase (between France and China) was fully closed off, leading to an interesting crowd flow that required people to travel to the front of World Showcase to get between Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure and Frozen Ever After. Empty EPCOT Maple Popcorn! As mentioned above, one of the included perks with After Hours tickets is some snacks. These usually include bottled soft drinks, popcorn, and Mickey Ice Cream Bars. However, EPCOT’s Canada Pavilion offered a surprise treat, as the pavilion offered the delicious maple popcorn FREE to party guests! Maple Popcorn Drinking Around the World is Difficult As mentioned above, all of World Showcase between France and China was closed during the event. Plus, there wasn’t much open in some of the open pavilions, including La Cava del Tequila being shuttered. In other words, it’s hard to engage in classic drinking around the world during the party. La Cava del Tequila Wait Times Were SHORT A major part of the appeal of these After Hours Events is shorter wait times, and our experience at EPCOT lived up to that. All of the available rides were under an hour, and truthfully, outside of the big attractions like Cosmic Rewind, Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure, and Frozen Ever After, pretty much everything was close to a walk-on. Walk on! If a night at a vibe-filled empty EPCOT sounds appealing to you, the park’s remaining 2026 After Hours Events are scheduled for September 16th and 24th. Guests with After Hours Event tickets can enter the park at 7 PM, and the event lasts from 9:30 PM to 12:30 AM. Event tickets are $155 to $189 per ticket, plus tax, depending on the date. If you can’t make those dates, you’ll need to wait for the 2027 dates to be announced. Stay tuned to DFB for more on those dates as they’re announced! Planning a Disney World trip can be complicated — we certainly know that firsthand. You’ve got to worry about when to visit, what sort of tickets to buy, which hotel to stay at, where to make dining reservations, and a whole lot more. Happily Ever After Things can get even more complicated when you realize that Disney is known for changing park hours and showtimes around, and you don’t want to be left out of the loop. The Disney World calendar is always changing, but we’re constantly checking it to make sure we have the most up-to-date info — and that’s why we need to let you know about this upcoming Magic Kingdom fireworks change! Heads up, Disney fans! Your Magic Kingdom game plan will need to change starting in November. Happily Ever After, Magic Kingdom’s current fireworks show, will start at 8 PM each night beginning on November 1st. For now, that change will continue as far as the Disney calendar currently goes, but we’ll keep an eye on it and let you know of any further changes. Happily Ever After Happily Ever After is the nighttime fireworks show in Magic Kingdom, complete with lights, lasers, and projection effects. It takes place most evenings (though it may not run if the park is scheduled to close early for a special event that day), and the showtime typically varies throughout the year depending on daylight hours and park operating hours. Happily Ever After Projections As of Monday, August 31st, the start time for the Happily Ever After fireworks is 9:30 PM. Disney often updates the start time for these fireworks based on park hours and as the time changes throughout the year. Since Daylight Saving Time is scheduled to end on November 1st, it makes sense that Disney would make this change on the same day. It’s a lamb shank with creamy sweet corn risotto, fresh watermelon, radish, roasted butternut squash, and a rich demi-glacé. Lamb Shank There is so much going on with this dish, and it all works so well together. You can see the char when you cut into the lamb shank that has clearly been smoked for a very long time. It has a beautiful bark on the outside, and it’s full of flavor. You get warm, smoky notes with garlic, pepper, and other warm notes to the spice. The spice rub they use leaves a tingling, pleasant feeling on your tongue when eaten. It blends so well with the risotto with watermelon radish and the parsley salad tossed with fresh red onions. The flavors seem strong from the parsley and red onion. This looks so tasty! You can actually taste the components even with the strength of the lamb flavor that is so robust and so bold. The risotto is so creamy, with layers of flavor from the corn. Everything goes well with the lamb and a little bit of the parsley salad, which is lightly tossed in a light vinaigrette. It added so much freshness to the lamb, and having a bite with the radish, the risotto, and the parsley salad brings wonderful notes of acidity to the plate. Lamb Shank One thing we did not see is the promised butternut squash. The demi-glacé is around the edge of a plate, and it is rich and earthy and creamy and spicy, and they put just enough where you can have some bites with the demi-glacé. This is great! You do have to be a great fan of lamb, because the way that they have prepared this has brought out the quintessential gaminess that comes with lamb. If you’re used to a milder lamb, you might not like this. If you’re a fan of meats like venison or duck, this lamb will knock your socks off! Lamb Shank This is a dish we would definitely order again…and again. It is a limited-time addition to their menu, so you’re going to need to get it fast. Also, be aware that this is HUGE. You should at least bring a friend to share this or be absolutely starving. You need to try this! For more Disney food reviews, make sure to stay tuned to the Disney Food Blog! On August 25th, 2026, the world lost an icon and legend, Dolly Parton. Welcome to Dollywood! In addition to being a singer, songwriter, and country music legend, Dolly Parton was also an actress who starred in several movies, including Steel Magnolias and 9 to 5. She was also the Dreamer-in-Chief of the Dollywood theme park, which was inspired by her upbringing in Sevierville, Tennessee. Dollywood has just revealed how they plan on honoring Dolly’s legacy, and we think it’s perfect. Following the tragic loss of the iconic Dolly Parton, Dollywood has just announced how they plan on honoring her legacy and contribution to not just music, but to the world. Dollywood is adding a new portal into the Dolly Parton experience along with a new grand finale to the “I Will Always Love You” section of the Dolly Parton experience. Concept art of the new entrance Additionally, the banners around the park to honor Dolly will stay up near the Dolly Parton experience. Dollywood Banners Dollywood is adding a tribute kiosk in Wildwood Grove to digitally document their Dolly stories. “We’re giving an option for those stories to be personal and private, but you’ll also have an opportunity to check a box to share your story publicly,” said Eugene Naughton, new President of Dollywood. They intend to use those stories publicly to showcase Dolly’s impact long-term. Tribute kiosk concept art One of Dolly’s favorite parts of the park was the Robert F. Thomas Chapel, which is being redone in her honor. A new waterfall will be installed with a special reflection area with a sculpted, stained-glass guitar. Naughton hopes this spot will be a great place for Dollywood visitors to reflect on Dolly Parton’s philanthropic impact. Stained-glass guitar concept art Dolly will also be immortalized in the park with a character inspired by her, the Dreammaker. The Dreammaker will enter Wildwood Grove to interact with kids of all ages and share Dolly’s passion for dreaming big and having stories. The Dreammaker concept art All of these will be open in early March of 2027. We’ll be on the lookout for even more Dollywood updates you need to know about. If there’s one piece of Disney nostalgia that we keep coming back to, it’s the Disney Store. We loved going to the mall (because they were always in a mall) and walking past all the stuffed animals and watching the Disney movie clips playing in the background. Ugh, I want to go back to the early 2000s just thinking about it. ©Disney While most physical Disney Stores no longer exist, we do most of our shopping on the Disney Store website! We always find great souvenirs on it and can usually snag free shipping too. You can imagine our surprise when we heard some of the Disney Store international websites were closing — how will people get their Disney merch?? The Disney Store website for Australia and New Zealand, along with the site for Singapore and Malaysia, are closing down on September 30th. Memos popped up on their websites saying “Disney Store will continue to operate in Singapore until 30 September 2026, after which your local online store will close. Orders placed through the 30th September will continue to be fulfilled from our local warehouse.” ©Disney Now, the main Disney Store website does ship internationally, but shipping costs can be very high, including exchange rates. It definitely adds another barrier to ordering Disney souvenirs, especially right before the holiday season. Shopping If you live in any of those countries and were planning to order items for the holidays, we recommend doing so sooner rather than later, especially before that September 30th cutoff. While you can still order from the US store, shipping will be expensive and take a long time. If you’re heading to the parks any time soon, it might be a good idea to stock up on gifts, too. Minnie Those of us in the US and other countries could order from the Singapore site to get exclusive international souvenirs. Recently, Disney has been adding some of those international finds to the US website, but the international sites were the only ones that consistently had those exclusive souvenirs. ©Disney Disney hasn’t released any additional information about the sites or whether alternative plans are in place. We’ll be keeping an eye out to see if any further changes are announced, so make sure you keep following Disney Food Blog for more Disney news. Even after all this time, the Disneyland Resort continues to find ways to surprise me. Oogie Boogie I’ve been going to Disneyland for 30 years — yes, THIRTY YEARS — but that doesn’t mean I’ve explored every nook and cranny. In fact, I just attended my very FIRST Oogie Boogie Bash this year! I know. I know. If you’re a Disneyland regular, you’re probably wondering how I managed to avoid one of the biggest Halloween events at the Disneyland Resort for THIS long. Well, I reckoned it was time to finally experience this huge Disney California Adventure party, and I went in with pretty reasonable expectations. Suffice it to say, I walked away with some shocking discoveries. I figured there would be Halloween decorations, some characters, candy, special entertainment, and maybe a few shorter ride waits. What I wasn’t expecting was just how much I would feel both during and after the event. After finally experiencing Oogie Boogie Bash for myself, there are three things that genuinely shocked me. 1. The Value Is WAY Better Than I Expected Let’s get one thing out of the way first: Oogie Boogie Bash tickets are not cheap. Tickets range between $139 and $199 per person, and they don’t include all-day access or park-hopping capabilities. But when you actually look at what you’re getting, the value is surprisingly good. Let’s go to Oogie Boogie Bash! The ticket price can be comparable to what you might pay for a regular one-day, one-park Disneyland ticket. But Oogie Boogie Bash gives you something that a normal park day doesn’t necessarily provide: a significantly different experience with a much emptier-feeling Disney California Adventure. Happy Halloween from Disney California Adventure! And you get more time than you’d initially think! The party officially gets going in the evening at 6 PM, but guests can enter Disney California Adventure as early as 3 PM. The party doesn’t end until 11 PM — so that gives you a whopping eight hours in DCA. Madame Leota’s Singing Wake And during the party itself, you have access to experiences and offerings that you simply aren’t going to get on a normal day. There are shorter waits for many attractions, tons of characters, Halloween entertainment, themed areas, special treats, and — perhaps most importantly — candy. Lots and lots of candy. Got our bag and wristband, so let’s trick-or-treat! Yes, you are essentially paying Disney to let you walk around California Adventure collecting candy. And honestly? It’s worth it. My bag alone still isn’t empty, and I walked away with A BUCNH of goodies. Still, the biggest thing for me was how much more manageable the park felt. You aren’t trying to cram all of this into a normal, packed Disney day while it’s 90 degrees out. The event gives you a different rhythm. Ernesto de la Cruz The flexibility offered is unique to this event, and I wasn’t quite ready for it. 2. The Atmosphere Is WAY More Immersive Than I Expected I expected Oogie Boogie Bash to look like Halloween, and I was ready for the cuteness and Disney showmanship, but I didn’t necessarily expect it to feel like Halloween. Events like Universal’s Halloween Horror Nights can really embrace the holiday — no holds barred because it caters to an older audience. Disney still has to be family-friendly, and it was, but there was a bit more theming that toed the line of being very spooky that really impressed me. Oogie Boogie Bash Once the party gets going, the atmosphere becomes a huge part of the experience. Disney creates different themed areas throughout the park, and some of them are surprisingly elaborate. Villains Grove is probably the most obvious example. It’s a little spooky in here! This isn’t just “Hey, there are some Halloween decorations over here.” It feels like you’ve stepped into a completely different environment. There are lights, sounds, projections, effects, music, and an overall atmosphere that makes you slow down and actually take in your surroundings. Villains Grove And then there are the characters. They are EVERYWHERE. There are so many opportunities to see characters throughout the event that it can start to feel like you’re constantly choosing between things you want to do. Hades Treat Trail I’m personally not much of a character fanatic, but I still enjoyed them nevertheless! You get to see a bunch of villains with this event, and those characters can often be sassy, extra-creative, and quite funny. Maleficent With that said, if your priority is character interactions, get ready to wait in long lines. Those eight hours can fly by fast, and it’s easy to miss opportunities to ride attractions, grab snacks, check out a street show, or revisit a treat trail. Judge Doom Let’s talk about the music for a minute. Disney goes HARD on the Halloween soundtrack. You’re going to hear a LOT of Halloween music during Oogie Boogie Bash — and it really does immerse you in this manufactured Halloween realm. I have to sing! For the most part, this is pretty cool. HOWEVER, I’m not necessarily the biggest fan of every single Halloween song that Disney has chosen to blast throughout the park, and the songs do repeat over and over again. While there were some bops, I did get tired of some songs. Dr. Doofenschmirtz All in all, the music does make the event feel like an actual party rather than a normal day at Disney California Adventure with a Halloween overlay. That distinction surprised me. 3. There Really IS Something for Everyone I typically budget my Disney days to regular park days, and my Magic Key annual pass rather than splurging on after-hours events, and my aversion to character meet-and-greets typically keeps me away from events that really focus on these kinds of experiences. But I was fairly surprised by how much fun I had. Agatha at Oogie Boogie Oogie Boogie Bash isn’t really one experience. It’s a bunch of different experiences happening at the same time — which means you can make the event whatever you want it to be. Oogie Boogie Bash Map Love characters? You can go all-in on character meet-and-greets and treat trails. Love candy? Congratulations. You have found your Olympics. Obsessed with rides? You can spend your night taking advantage of shorter wait times and enjoying attractions. Craving some exclusive eats? There are special Halloween treats and food offerings to hunt down. Ready to take in some spooky entertainment? There are special shows and entertainment throughout the event. Constance Hatchaway Float What you CAN’T do is everything. There is simply too much happening. If you try to experience every character meet-and-greet and every attraction, you’re probably going to spend the entire evening running around and wondering where your time went. ©Disney Instead, I think the trick is to figure out what YOUR thing is. But keep in mind — I think it’s totally possible to do a little bit of everything in eight hours. In my 30 years of visiting Disneyland, that’s not a sentence I was able to utter. I’ve experienced plenty of Halloween at the Disneyland Resort over the years. But Oogie Boogie Bash feels different because it gives you the opportunity to make your own version of the event. And honestly, I wish I’d tried it sooner. ©Disney So, if you’ve been putting off Oogie Boogie Bash because the ticket price seems high or because you’re wondering whether there’s enough to actually do, I’d say it’s worth taking another look. We’ve covered the event thoroughly so you can know what you’re getting into and plan before your visit (game-planning certainly helped me!).
