  2. Staying away from home can be tough, even if it’s at a Disney World hotel! Pop Century We love staying on Disney World property, but after trying out these items on Amazon, we wish we knew about them sooner — they would’ve made our stay so much more comfortable! From sound machines to earplugs, you need to check out these items, especially if you have trouble sleeping away from home! DISCLOSURE: This post may contain affiliate links, meaning when you click the links and make a purchase, we receive a commission. Get these Portable Hanging Travel Shelves Portable Shelves The Portable Hanging Travel Shelves are for anyone who loves to unpack but doesn’t like the hassle of it on vacation. It’s truly worth the money because it is so handy and convenient. The hanging shelves and the ability to squish your clothes down like a packing cube are the main features of this that really made our life easier. We love that we can unpack easily, feel organized, and then repack with a few clips at the end of the trip. How simple is this? The biggest pro is just feeling insanely organized on our trip without needing to fully unpack. We loved that we could see all of our things without actually putting any clothes away AND that we could just move things between bags super easily. We do wish it was a bit easier to fit in a traditional carry-on (it took up every bit of space in mine), BUT we do like how much it holds. Hanging shelves all packed up. Without a doubt, this made our trip 10x easier. It fit all our outfits and shoes and kept them organized. Compared to regular packing cubes, it is a bit bulkier, but it also offers a level of ease that other packing cubes don’t. We fit two pairs of shoes, an entire week’s worth of clothes, a sweatshirt, two pairs of ears, and still had room! view ON AMAZON Earplugs ALWAYS come in handy! ©Amazon Just like the ones you’ll find in your local convenience store, these Earplugs from Amazon are effective and come in bulk! These are soft foam, noise-cancelling earplugs that are great for hearing protection. The soft foam makes them easy to sleep with, as they provide comfort, and the noise cancellation is great for drowning out noise in nearby rooms and the hallways. They’re especially good for light sleepers and daytime nappers. view ON AMAZON We love the Dreamegg Sound Machine Dreamegg Portable Travel White Noise Machine The Dreamegg Sound Machine is for anyone who wants a truly peaceful sleep or nap. This thing is around $15 solo, bundled with a second in multiple color combos for around $30, and can even come with a zippered travel case for around $25. So, if you’re wondering if it’s worth the money…YES, ABSOLUTELY YES! This would make an ideal present for a new parent, college student, stocking stuffer, frequent traveler, small kids, those with insomnia or difficulty getting to sleep, etc. Dreamegg Portable Travel White Noise Machine This thing is so small it can fit in the palm of your hand! It has the potential to be hooked up to a charger or be enjoyed on a battery. It has 35 different volume levels for such a tiny object, comes in a variety of different colors to match practically any aesthetic, and features 16 different sounds. We’re talking sounds ranging from different kinds of fans and fan speeds to standard white noise, soundscapes, waterfalls, rain, birds, lullabies, and beyond. Dreamegg Portable Travel White Noise Machine It’s also equipped with a timer button that can be set to either 30-, 60-, or 90-minute intervals, or set not to turn off until you want to. It uses the same USB-C charger that most newer phone models have switched to using, so you don’t have to keep up with an odd charging plug. Shall we go on? Super small The biggest pros for this are by far the size, battery life, versatility of sounds, and timer. Sure, the buttons are hard to press in if you have long nails, but that’s truly nit-picky. You definitely need this on your trip, especially in those value resorts where the walls are thinner. We felt much more rested and relaxed after trying it out. It’s also often on sale, as if we needed more reason to grab it! view ON AMAZON Also, you can grab these Water Shoes ©Amazon For those of you who like using the resort pools while staying on property at Disney World, you could grab these Water Shoes! We know for some people walking on the pool deck can be a sensory overload on their feet; maybe it’s a sanitary thing, or maybe there’s something need to be covered. Whatever it is, these water shoes can come in handy if you feel you need them. view ON AMAZON We’re always on the hunt for the latest and greatest Disney souvenirs and essentials, so don’t forget to stay tuned to the Disney Food Blog for more! 3. One thing we love about the theme parks is their festivals, whether that be EPCOT’s International Festival of the Arts, Disneyland’s California Adventure Food & Wine Festival, Dollywood’s Flower and Food Festival, or countless others! California Adventure Food & Wine Festival BUT there is one park that has an advantage over the others, and that is Dollywood! Their exclusive festival perk tops all of the others, and for good reason! It’s easy, and it could save you money, and that’s why we’re hoping EPCOT takes the hint and introduces it to their festivals! Usually when we’re visiting an EPCOT festival, we budget out what we want to eat for the day or for the trip and put that amount on one of the Disney festival gift cards. This way you’re not overspending or having to pull out your wallet each time — simply slide the gift card around your wrist and scan it at each location, easy! Flower and Garden Gift Card! But what makes eating and drinking around festivals even easier? Dollywood has this down to a science with the Tasting Passes. Guests can purchase these either before or on the day of their visit. These cost about $44 per person, but with this pass, you can enjoy up to ANY FIVE festival food items! This means that if you play your cards right, you could save some money! Dollywood Tasting Pass Disneyland has a similar option with their Sip and Savor Passes for the California Adventure Food and Wine Festival. Available for a separate fee, these are scannable credentials that include a specific number of digital coupons. These passes can be redeemed for SELECT food or nonalcoholic beverage items at the festival marketplaces or participating dining locations during the festival. Festival Passport and Sip & Savor Pass The price varies for these passes, but for the 2026 Lunar New Year at Disneyland, these passes included six items for $49 for regular guests and $46 for Magic Key holders. California Adventure Festival of the Holidays Spread Having these in EPCOT would make festival days much easier and possibly cheaper! So, Disney World, please take a page out of Dollywood’s and Disneyland’s books and bring tasting passes to the festivals at EPCOT! 4. Disneyland Resort is undergoing tons of construction projects, largely in part due to the multi-million-dollar Disneyland Forward project in the works. Indiana Jones Adventure Lots of people only talk about Disney World when it comes to construction projects, but Disneyland has its own fair share. If you’re visiting in September, we’ve got some news you need to know about that may make your trip harder — two MORE temporary closures are being added to the list. Disneyland has just added two closures to its upcoming list that will affect you if you’ve got a trip planned for September. Thrillseekers will be sad to know that Indiana Jones Adventure will close on September 8th for refurbishment, and there’s no reopening date currently set. Currently, the Disneyland calendar goes out through September 13th, and it remains closed through then. Indiana Jones Adventure The Mark Twain Riverboat will also close on September 8th for refurbishment, but unlike Indiana Jones, times do start showing very soon after. The Riverboat will be closed September 8th through 11th, but then begins showing times again on September 12th. This ride does often close for refurbishment, usually in small increments, so this isn’t entirely unexpected. Keep in mind that this ride does close way earlier than most others, operating only through about 5:40 PM due to Fantasmic! each night. 5. If there’s one snack that defines a hot Florida afternoon in Disney World, it’s the DOLE Whip. Raspberry Pineapple DOLE Whip This iconic swirl of fruity soft serve has been a Disney World staple for decades, and over the years it’s popped up in more flavors than we can count. We’ve made it our business to try them all (someone’s got to do it!), and while every flavor has its fans, three stand out above the rest. Here are our picks for the best DOLE Whip flavors in Disney World. 3. Raspberry We have some serious nostalgia for Raspberry DOLE Whip. It used to be a regular fixture at Aloha Isle in Magic Kingdom, where it paired beautifully alongside pineapple, but Disney pulled it from the permanent lineup a while back. These days, spotting it means getting lucky at a festival, catching it at Pineapple Lanai, or finding it at Swirls on the Water. Think of it as strawberry’s more sophisticated cousin — the texture tends to be silkier, the berry flavor punches a little harder, and there’s a subtle tartness that keeps it from tasting one-note. Honestly, this is a flavor that doesn’t need any dressing up — it’s fantastic served plain. Raspberry Dole Whip 2. Lime Lime is criminally underrated in the DOLE Whip lineup, and we’re determined to change that. It brings a bright tartness without ever crossing into sour territory, making it one of the most refreshing options out there. There’s a playful, zesty quality to it that used to shine in the beloved Peter Pan Float (RIP, we still think about you). If you want to try a variation on the classic, head to Good’s Foods to Go at Disney’s Old Key West Resort for their Key Lime Swirl — it’s a genuine hidden gem most guests walk right past. Lime has gotten trickier to track down these days, but it does show up regularly in the rotating DOLE Whip menu at Pineapple Lanai. Close your eyes while you eat this one and you might just feel like you’re on a beach somewhere. Peter Pan Float featuring Lime Dole Whip 1. Pineapple And then there’s Pineapple — the flavor that started it all and still reigns supreme. Sweet, tangy, and unmistakably tropical, it’s the benchmark every other flavor gets measured against, and it’s basically non-negotiable for a first-time Disney World visitor. You’ll find it scooped up all over both parks and resorts, but Aloha Isle remains the pilgrimage spot for the purists. Order it as a float, spoon it over a slice of Pineapple Upside-Down Cake, or swirl it with vanilla for a softer take on the classic. No matter how you order it, Pineapple DOLE Whip has earned its spot as one of the most legendary snacks in all of Disney World. DOLE Whip from Aloha Isle at Disney World Whether you’re a die-hard Pineapple purist, a Lime lover hunting down that Key Lime Swirl, or you get giddy every time Raspberry makes a surprise appearance, there’s a DOLE Whip flavor out there for everyone. Half the fun is tracking down the rarer options while you make your way around Disney World! 6. It’s finally happening! We feel like we’ve been waiting forever, but the time is finally here — one of the newest Disney Springs spots is FINALLY opening! Six Ravens Six Ravens is the sister location of Gideon’s Bakehouse located in Disney Springs — they’re owned by the same company, but Six Ravens will focus more on savory options, such as the hand pies calls Coffyns, which are house made yeast rolls complete with fillings created in partnership with other Central Florida chefs. No official opening date has been announced…until now! The Orlando Sentinel has just announced that Six Ravens will be soft opening TOMORROW, which is Monday, August 3rd! Multiple of the menu items will highlight different local restaurants, such as Red Panda Noodle, Pizza Bruno, Smoke & Donuts, Pink Salamander, and Papi’s Burritos. ©Six Ravens Founder Steve Lewis said that the concept of Six Ravens “has been about paying it forward” in a recent interview. He went on to say that the menu here is much more savory-based, but there will be one dessert on the menu, saying, “Much in the way the Six Ravens sweet roll is the savory canvas we play on, the dessert side of our menu is tart-based.” The solo dessert on the menu, for now, is The Tart’s Tempest, which is a Gideon’s chocolate chip tart filled with rich, chocolate fudge and topped with freshly made raspberry jam. Six Ravens More desserts are said to be on the way, especially ones that collaborate with local bakeries, but for now, you’ll have to head to Gideon’s if you want more sweets. We can’t wait to see the new rush of merchandise that’s about to be released as well, considering that Gideon’s highly collectible merchandise is a big selling point for many fans. It’s been warned that Six Ravens is smaller than Gideon’s Bakehouse and is darker too, so expect to see that reflected in merchandise and decor. To match the size, the menu is kept small for now as well, focusing on “Coffyns. Potatoes. Beer. Dessert.” ©Six Ravens You can bet we’ll be one of the very first in line to experience this new restaurant tomorrow, and we’ll be bringing you all the latest news right from the front lines. 8. A theme park-industry-changing Busch Gardens ride is closing FOREVER. ©Busch Gardens Tampa Bay Kumba, the 33-year-old roller coaster at Busch Gardens Tampa Bay, is set for its last day of operations on August 2nd. However, the park has confirmed that a sequel is coming! First opening in the park’s Congo section in 1993, Kumba was a collaboration of the park and roller coaster manufacturers Bolliger & Mabillard. Spurred by the desire to build a modern thrill coaster to better compete with Disney and Universal, this coaster featured a 114-foot-tall vertical loop (the world’s tallest up to that point), a 135-foot drop, a dive loop, a zero-g roll, a cobra roll, and a pair of interlocking corkscrews. ©Busch Gardens Tampa Bay Upon its opening, Kumba — which translates to “roar” from a Kongo language — was the tallest, fastest, and longest roller coaster in Florida when it opened, and put the park on the map as a thrill destination. As the park continued to add new coasters, Kumba’s popularity and wait times dwindled. Finally, in 2026, Busch announced that the coaster would be closing just a few months after its 33rd birthday. However, at the time of the closure announcement, Busch Gardens ALSO announced that they would be building a sequel attraction, Kumba’s Revenge. As part of the announcement, the park said in a statement, “Busch Gardens is dedicated to thrilling the next generation of coaster enthusiasts by continuing the Kumba story. This new attraction is a part of our $100 million investment that will elevate Busch Gardens as Florida’s thrill leader and enhance our guest experience.” The company has yet to provide details on whether Kumba’s Revenge will be a retrack or rebuild of the current Kumba or an entirely new construction. ©Busch Gardens Tampa Bay After more than 30 years in operation, Kumba’s last operational day is August 2nd. A brand new scene has been added to Zootopia: Better Zoogether! The newest Animal Kingdom show has updated the show to include character Mayor Winddancer from Zootopia 2. Mayor Winddancer — Live on Air It’s an all-new preshow! In the clip, Mayor Winddancer is live on the air introducing the Zoogether Day festivities. Things start to go awry, and you can hear him call out right before the live-stream ends, “Can somebody get the bunny and fox on this?” Which takes us right into Nick and Judy’s mission to save Zoogether Day. Zootopia: Better Zoogether This is a subtle switch, but it is a cute way to encompass both movies into the show! The rest of the show remains unchanged. Zootopia: Better Zoogether opened in November 2025, so this was a fun update to the theme park, which is currently undergoing quite the overhaul. NEWS: A Brand New Scene Was JUST Added to a Disney World Show Shiki Sai Added To EPCOT’s Fireworks Dining Package Finally, Shiki Sai has been added to EPCOT’s fireworks dining package options! This gorgeous restaurant offers views of the World Showcase Lagoon where you can watch Luminous the Symphony of Us. The package costs $149.50 per adult (ages 10 and up) and $74.70 per child. Prices include tax and gratuity. Agedashi Tofu from Shiki Sai At the time of writing, Disney removed Shiki Sai from fireworks dining package offerings online, but we’re hoping it will be available to book soon. Popular Restaurant Added To EPCOT’s Fireworks Dining Package From fireworks to construction, it’s safe to say it was a busy and noisy week in Disney World! We are so excited for what’s ahead. 13. Well, we got one slow week in Disney World, and apparently that was the last one we’ll have for (probably) a long while. Saratoga Springs Resort While there haven’t been too many changes to the Disney World hotels right now, Disney did give us a heads up that multiple projects are on their way that we need to be on the lookout for in the coming weeks. If you’ve been thinking of booking a Disney World hotel reservation for the coming months, you may want to take a look at these new projects first to help aid in your decision. Only one of these hotel projects will actually result in closures beginning in August, but it’s important to note that the others will affect how you move around the resorts. Projects are currently ongoing at Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort and Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort, but construction will be coming soon to both Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club Resort and Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge — Kidani Village. Animal Kingdom Lodge Let’s take a look at all the current closures taking place in Disney World from July 31st through August 7th. Magic Kingdom Carousel of Progress Carousel of Progress closed on July 6th to undergo a major refurbishment. The work will include completely revamping the scenes in the attraction to make them more modern and represent more recent parts of history, as well as adding a new Walt Disney animatronic at the opening. ©Disney Currently, the attraction is set to reopen in 2027, though no official date has been set yet. Big Top Souvenirs Big Top Souvenirs closed on February 20th, and Disney has said it’ll “reopen for guests to enjoy later this year,” but there’s no date in sight. When we stopped by recently, we saw that the big top has FINALLY been added back to the shop, which is a relief! The tent is back! We’re really curious to see how this all turns out, so we’ll keep you updated! Liberty Square Riverboat and Tom Sawyer Island An iconic part of the Magic Kingdom is now permanently closed. As of July 7th, 2025, the Rivers of America, including the Liberty Square Riverboat and Tom Sawyer Island, are permanently closed to make way for the new Cars area, Piston Peak. There are lots of construction walls up in the area now, and the structures on Tom Sawyer Island have been demolished. Most recently, we saw a new addition to one of the old boat docks, as a shed-like structure has now been added to the boat dock near Memento Mori. A new building? Piston Peak National Park will be replacing this area of the Magic Kingdom. Disney has not yet announced an opening date for the new Cars area, but we do know it will feature two brand-new attractions and be themed to look like a National Park. A MAJOR Change Is Coming to Magic Kingdom SOON Disney’s Hollywood Studios (Parts of) Animation Courtyard Animation Courtyard closed on September 25th, 2025, to make way for Walt Disney Studios. The courtyard area, new Disney Jr. show, and meet and greet station for Sofia the First and SupeKitties officially opened on May 26th. Star Wars Launch Bay will be turned into The Magic of Disney Animation. This attraction will have you interacting and exploring with this fun take on Disney Animation headquarters, complete with the return of the Sorcerer Mickey hat! The Magic of Disney Animation in Walt Disney Studios This area will also feature a new Drawn to Wonderland indoor play area that we can’t wait to see! Now, we know the rest of The Walt Disney Studios will open on September 14th. Muppets Courtyard Muppet*Vision 3D and PizzeRizzo closed on June 8th, 2025, and Muppets Courtyard has been walled off for construction on the new Monsters, Inc. land. Mama Melrose’s Ristorante Italiano has been closed since May 11th, 2025. Most recently, Disney released new information about Monstropolis, saying that “Monstropolis — the monster city now powered by laughter — is getting ready to give humans a glimpse of what’s been hidden from their world for generations. Which raises an interesting question: if humans were never meant to enter the monster world … why are the doors finally opening to us?” ©Disney We’ll get to explore their world during H.U.M.A.N. Day, or “Humans Understand Monsters Are Nice” Day, with Disney continuing to say, “Human guests will have the chance to explore the city, meet its citizens, taste unique cuisine, and step into the everyday world of monsters in a totally new way. For the first time, two worlds once separated are meeting face to scaly, furry, and fang-filled face – brought together not by screams, but by laughter.” ©Disney It’s also been fully confirmed that Harryhausen’s will be one of the restaurants in the new land, which we’re beyond excited to experience. Most recently, we saw teeth arrive at the top of what used to be PizzeRizzo, meaning new theming elements are actively beginning to go in! Those teeth! If you’re missing The Muppets, you can go visit them at Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets right now! CONFIRMED: Disney World’s Best Hotel Perk Is Returning on These 9 August Days EPCOT La Signature La Signature, one of the stores located in the France Pavilion, closed for refurbishment on June 30th. La Signature closed The store specializes in French cosmetics and fragrances from Guerlain. During the closure, if you’re looking to buy Guerlain products, they’ll be temporarily available at the nearby Plume Et Palette. Sections of Germany Pavilion On July 13th, both the guest bathrooms in the Germany Pavilion and the majority of the Volkskunst store in EPCOT’s Germany Pavilion closed for refurbishment. Totally closed While a Cast Member did tell us the store closure was to fix the Cast Member bathrooms out of sight, Disney has not revealed a reopening date for the store or the public bathrooms. The Misadventures of Tiny Train Town: 2 Arrests and a RUINED Wedding in EPCOT Disney’s Animal Kingdom DinoLand, USA On February 2nd, DinoLand, USA, officially closed to make way for the new Tropical Americas land, Pueblo Esperanza. Most recently, we noticed that large cranes are in the area to adjust the roofs of existing buildings, likely to keep them in theme. Lots of work! We can also see lots of work happening at the front of the new Indiana Jones ride! Recently, Disney revised the permit they filed last August for this ride, and the new Notice of Commencement permit renews the installation through April 2027. via @bioreconstruct This new land is shaping up nicely! It will have three new rides – a carousel featuring classic Disney animals, an Indiana Jones ride where you’ll explore a Mayan temple, and an Encanto ride that invites you into the Madrigals’ home. We can’t wait to continue to see how it all shapes up. This Is The Best Disney World News You’ll See All Week Disney World Hotels Boat Dock — Disney’s Old Key West Resort Starting on July 20th, Disney closed the boat transportation at Old Key West Resort, called Sassagoula River Cruise. These boats usually go to Disney Springs, so now, you’ll need to take a bus instead. Old Key West Dock Right now, the closure is expected to last through early August. Boat Dock — Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort Starting on May 11th, the Boat Dock at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort became unavailable for guests to use due to refurbishment. The dock is closed! Boat transportation was unavailable through June 5th, but has now reopened. Construction on the dock as a whole was set to continue through late June, but has now continued into July. Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa This hotel has been undergoing refurbishments for quite some time now, but some sections of the hotel — specifically the porte cochere — will continue to undergo refurbishment through at least early 2027. Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort We certainly hope it’ll actually reopen on this timeline — we’re a little tired of seeing construction all over this beautiful hotel! Bay Lake Tower at Disney’s Contemporary Resort Currently, work is taking place all over Bay Lake Tower through Late 2027. Bay Lake Tower While currently no major closures are taking place due to this construction, it’s important to note that you may see or hear construction during your stay. Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort For those looking to dine at this hotel, you need to know that the Turf Club Bar & Grill and Turf Club Lounge will both be under refurbishment from mid-March through mid-September 2026. Turf Club Bar & Grill In early April, the Turf Club Lounge closed for refurbishment and will reopen in early August. In the meantime, the Turf Club Bar & Grill will remain open with a pop-up bar serving a modified Lounge food and beverage menu. Then, from early to mid-August, the Turf Club patio will close for refurbishment, and finally, from mid-August through mid-September, the Turf Club Bar & Grill will be closed for refurbishment, but the Turf Club Lounge will be open. Leisure Pools — Disney’s Yacht Club Resort and Disney’s Beach Club Resort Disney’s Yacht Club and Disney’s Beach Club Resort are currently undergoing visible exterior maintenance. The maintenance could affect views and may require alternate routes at times. In addition, two of the resort’s leisure pools will close for routine maintenance. Tidal Pool At Disney’s Yacht Club, the Admiral leisure pool will be closed for maintenance through early May 2026. At Disney’s Beach Club, the Tidal leisure pool will be closed for maintenance through early May 2026. Guests may see or hear construction work, but it will only be done during the daytime hours. Yachtsman Steakhouse — Disney’s Yacht Club Resort On May 11th, Yachtsman Steakhouse officially closed for refurbishment. Yachtsman Steakhouse Recently, it was revealed that reservations for this restaurant are now available beginning on August 28th! Promenade Fine Art Gallery — Disney’s BoardWalk Inn and Resort The Promenade Fine Art Gallery closed its Disney’s BoardWalk location on October 20th, 2025. However, the Promenade Fine Art Gallery isn’t closing for good, and it will just be moving to a new location. Promenade Fine Art Gallery Disney just filed permits for the BoardWalk titled “Project Amazon” and “Project Bubbles” earlier this year, and now that we have a bit more information on them, we’re thinking that this currently vacant spot could soon become the home of the new Basin on the BoardWalk store on its way! The shop will be rooted in the resort’s classic boardwalk heritage and will offer a sensory shopping experience that is described as “both timeless and distinctly new.” Jellyrolls — Disney’s BoardWalk Jellyrolls at Disney’s BoardWalk officially closed on April 19th, 2025. This entertainment venue has provided our team with countless memories, and we know many others are also sad to see it close. Jellyrolls had its final farewell performance on April 19th. 2025 and closed its doors forever on Disney’s BoardWalk. It was just recently revealed, though, that a new lounge will be coming to the BoardWalk! ©Disney The new lounge will be called Hurly-Burly and will be a “fun-filled afternoons and glamorous evenings inside a historic seaside theatre with a vibrant BoardWalk story that spans over a century.” Based on the concept art revealed, it’s looking like the former JellyRolls building would be the best fit for this spot, but we’re also waiting to see where the new quick-service restaurant announced for the BoardWalk will be going! The two drinks you can get in the souvenir cup at FØØD by Swedish Chef are the Pink Le-moi-nade and Pond Water Limeade. We’ve tried both drinks before, and we really enjoyed them. They’re a great buy if you’re looking for something fun and refreshing, and now the drinks have gotten a big upgrade! We love this cup! 22. Take it from us, Cast Members know where it’s worth dining and spending your money while at Disney World. Crème Brûlée Croissant If there’s one group of people who know where to eat in Magic Kingdom, it’s the Cast Members who spend their days roaming the park. We asked our former and current Cast Members on our team which restaurant spots consistently earn a nod of approval. Here are 4 Cast Member-approved restaurants in Magic Kingdom that deserve a spot on your must-eat list. 1. The Plaza Restaurant The Plaza Restaurant is located right down Main Street U.S.A. The Plaza Restaurant is a table-service gem that often gets overshadowed by its flashier castle-adjacent neighbor. Popular items here include the Plaza Burger, the Grilled Chicken Club Sandwich, and the Plaza Ice Cream Sundae, piled high with hot fudge and whipped cream. The Plaza Restaurant We love The Plaza because it offers a rare combination in Magic Kingdom: a relaxed, air-conditioned sit-down meal with genuinely good food, but at a great price point. It’s the kind of low-key, high-reward spot Cast Members love to recommend to guests who don’t know it exists yet. Read Our Latest Plaza Restaurant Review Here! The Plaza Restaurant full spread 2. Columbia Harbour House One restaurant you’ll hear us talk about a lot is Columbia Harbour House, and for good reason! Located in Liberty Square, Columbia Harbour House is a quick-service favorite for guests craving something a little more substantial than typical theme park fare. The Lobster Roll and the Maple-Mustard Glazed Salmon are consistently popular. Columbia Harbour House We love Columbia Harbour House for its charming nautical theming, its surprisingly extensive menu for a counter-service location, and its often-overlooked upstairs seating area, which offers a quiet, cozy respite from the crowds below. It’s proof that quick service doesn’t have to mean a compromise on quality or atmosphere. Read Our Latest Review of Columbia Harbour House! Columbia Harbour House 3. Sleepy Hollow Refreshments If you need a quick bite that still feels like a treat, Sleepy Hollow in Liberty Square is where Cast Members send their friends and family. The Waffle with Chocolate-Hazelnut Spread, Bananas, Berries, and Whipped Cream is a favorite as well as the Hand-dipped Corn Dog. Sleepy Hollow Refreshments We love Sleepy Hollow because it does one thing and does it exceptionally well: sweet, portable, walk-and-eat snacks that are perfect for enjoying while you make your way toward the castle or wait for a parade to start. It’s a small window with a mighty menu. Read Our Latest Review of Sleepy Hollow Refreshments Here! Sleepy Hollow 4. Gaston’s Tavern Nestled in Fantasyland, Gaston’s Tavern is a must-visit for anyone who appreciates good theming as much as good food. The undisputed star here is LeFou’s Brew — a frozen apple juice slush topped with a passion fruit-mango foam — but the enormous Cinnamon Roll is just as beloved. Gaston’s Tavern We love Gaston’s Tavern for its immersive atmosphere, complete with antlers and a roaring fireplace. It’s a small counter-service spot that delivers a big dose of Disney magic. The portions here are generous, and we often find ourselves splitting a few items. Read Our Latest Review of Gaston’s Tavern Here! Delicious breakfast Cast members know Magic Kingdom’s menu better than anyone, and their picks reveal four spots that deliver way more than the average guest expects. 23. Believe it or not, 2027 is already on the horizon, and Disney World fans are already planning their trips. That includes targeting where they want to eat, and for various reasons, the restaurants they’re choosing are topping many lists… though not only because of food. A solid meal Beginning in June 2026, Disney made a major change to their transportation offerings. Specifically, guests now need to show a hotel or dining reservation in order to use the buses or boats leaving Disney Springs. This rule has been enacted before during busy times of year, but now it is becoming permanent. So, in addition to wanting to dine at some of these restaurants, guests are booking them strategically in order to access Disney World hotels and transportation methods. Steakhouse 71 Let’s begin with Steakhouse 71 at the Contemporary Resort. This restaurant, named after Disney World’s opening year, offers a menu based on some of “Walt’s favorites,” including Walt’s Prime Rib Hash for breakfast and classic dinner offerings, such as French Onion Soup, Prime Rib, 6-oz Filet Mignon, or Dry-aged Bone-In Pork Chops. The restaurant and its connected lounge include a portfolio of Disney family wines and cocktails reminiscent of the 1970s. Steakhouse 71 Being at the Contemporary, a reservation at the restaurant offers access to the Disney World Monorail. The same can be said for reservations at the Contemporary’s other restaurants like California Grill and Chef Mickey’s, as well as those at the Polynesian Village Resort and the Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. Monorail It’s Actually Ridiculous That People Don’t Know About THIS at Disney’s Contemporary Resort Grand Floridian Cafe Speaking of Monorail Line restaurants, guests will also be flocking to the Grand Floridian Cafe at the Grand Floridian (what a coincidence). The popular eatery has been undergoing a refurbishment for most of the second spring and summer of 2026, though it is scheduled to reopen in October, meaning that it should be available for all of 2027. The Grand Floridian Cafe should have reopened by 2027 Room Prices Revealed: How Much a Christmas Stay at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort Costs This Year Cake Bake Shop Known for its menu of breakfast classics, upscale brunch, lunch, afternoon tea, dinner, cocktails, and, of course, given the name, decadent desserts, the Cake Bake Shop has become one of Disney World’s most popular eateries… and toughest reservations to get. Slice of Cotton Candy Cake In addition, the Cake Bake Shop’s location at the BoardWalk Inn puts it within walking distance of not only EPCOT, but also the Disney World Skyliner. Other restaurants on — or close to — the Skyliner route include Beaches and Cream between the Yacht and Beach Club Resorts, Sebastian’s Bistro at the Caribbean Beach Resort, and Topolino’s Terrace at the Riviera Resort. Disney Skyliner NEWS! Close-Up Look at the NEW BoardWalk Restaurant in Disney World Yachtsman Steakhouse Another restaurant close to the Skyliner is also going to be open in refurbished form in 2027. The Yacht Club’s popular, New England-themed Yachtsman Steakhouse has been closed since the spring, with an estimated reopening for the refreshed restaurant in the summer of 2026, meaning it should be available for guests throughout all of 2027. Yachtsman Steakhouse Which of these restaurants is best for you? Our Guide to Disney World Dining pulls it all together so you can stop stressing and focus on the fun without feeling like you’re missing a thing! Boatwright’s Dining Hall Located at the Port Orleans Resort – Riverside, Boatwright’s offers a menu of Louisiana favorites including the Bayou All-You-Care-To-Enjoy Platter (featuring hickory-smoked ribs, barbecue spice baked chicken, beef brisket, mashed potatoes, macaroni & cheese, and a seasonal vegetable with sauteed corn and bacon), shrimp pappardelle, roasted prime rib, and Boatwright’s signature jambalaya. For dessert, you can enjoy bourbon chocolate cake or take a quick walk to the Scat Cat’s Club for the famous beignets. Boatwright’s Jambalaya The Port Orleans Resort is on the Sassagoula River, which features watercraft that link Disney Springs to the Port Orleans Riverside, Port Orleans French Quarter, Old Key West, and Saratoga Springs resorts. Other restaurants at those aforementioned hotels also offer guests the opportunity to board the boats now. Sassagoula River Boat When it comes to Disney World dining in 2027, we’re expecting these popular hotel restaurants to be some of the most in-demand restaurants on property. 26. Is it safe to say that Walt Disney World just feels like one massive construction site right now?! Haunted Mansion Ok, we may be exaggerating a little bit, but there is a lot of construction happening across the entire resort. That’s only because Disney likes to keep everything in tip-top shape, and they have a TON of new stuff on the way, which we are very excited about. So, we’ll take construction! We’ve been patiently waiting for things to open and for construction to be finished, and we’re happy to report that the scrim is finally DOWN at a popular attraction in Magic Kingdom! Haunted Mansion had been undergoing a lengthy exterior refurbishment and hiding behind a massive scrim for months. Disney tried their best to make it not seem too weird, as the scrim has a photo of what the Haunted Mansion building looks like. That being said, it did NOT look like the attraction we know and love. Haunted Mansion with the scrim Well, we noticed yesterday that the scrim is finally down! Doesn’t it just look so much better?! No more scrim! It’s nice to see Haunted Mansion in all its glory again. Some obvious work has been done on the exterior. The building’s colors have gotten a touch-up, and now the popular attraction is looking refreshed. Some of the stones and other details around the exterior look like they’ve been painted gray instead of the light brown they used to be! Take a look at the before… Haunted Mansion in 2025 …and after! Haunted Mansion after the refurb You can obviously see that work isn’t fully complete yet, as there is still scrim on the bottom part of the railing of the building. Based on the fact that the coloring has changed for other parts of the building, we’re thinking we could be seeing more color changes at the bottom of the building. Maybe to match the new color scheme and vibe of the building. Work still happening The agents at Small World Vacations know how to save money on your Disney Vacation! 27. If you’ve ever stayed at a Disney World resort with more than one pool, you’ve probably wondered: can I actually swim at any of them, or am I stuck with the one closest to my room? Massive pool! Here’s the good news — at every Disney World resort with multiple pools, you’re free to pool hop between them! There’s no rule limiting you to the pool nearest your building, so you can explore every themed splash zone, quiet pool, and feature pool your resort has to offer, all without switching hotels. We rounded up all 16 Disney World resorts where this perk is in play, along with the names of every pool you’ll have access to. Grab your sunscreen — here’s where you can make the most of your resort’s pools this year. All-Star Resorts (Movies, Music, and Sports) There are three All-Star Resorts, and each resort has multiple pools. At Disney’s All-Star Sports, you’ll find the surf-themed Surfboard Bay Pool and the baseball diamond-shaped Grand Slam Pool. Over at All-Star Music, guests can splash in the Calypso Pool or the Piano Pool. And All-Star Movies is home to the Fantasia Pool, with its Sorcerer Mickey fountain, plus the hockey rink-shaped Duck Pond Pool. While you cannot pool hop between the resorts, each of these offers a few unique pools to pick from. Grand Slam Pool Pop Century Resort Disney’s Pop Century has three pools to choose from, each tucked into a different decade-themed section of the resort. The flower-shaped Hippy Dippy Pool is the main pool, representing the 1960s. For something quieter, head to the Bowling Pool (1950s) or the Computer Pool (1990s). Hippy Dippy Pool at Pop Century Art of Animation Resort Disney’s Art of Animation Resort is home to the largest hotel pool at all of Disney World: the Finding Nemo-themed Big Blue Pool. From there, guests can pool hop to the Cars-themed Cozy Cone Pool or the Little Mermaid-inspired Flippin’ Fins Pool, both considered quieter spots. The Big Blue Pool at Art of Animation Wilderness Lodge Disney’s Wilderness Lodge Resort’s main pool, the Copper Creek Springs Pool, is themed like a spring-fed mountain pool, complete with a 67-foot waterslide built into the rocks. Guests can also head to the more laid-back Boulder Ridge Cove Pool, nestled among the Boulder Ridge Villas. Both pools are open to all Wilderness Lodge guests. Wilderness Lodge Contemporary Resort and Bay Lake Tower This one’s a two-for-one! Guests staying at either the Contemporary Resort or Bay Lake Tower have access to all three pools across both hotels. At the Contemporary, that means the Feature Pool (with its curving waterslide) and the quieter Bay Lake Pool. Bay Lake Tower guests and their neighbors can also use the Bay Cove Pool, which comes with its own 148-foot waterslide and views of Bay Lake. Contemporary Feature Pool Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge Animal Kingdom Lodge is really two resort areas in one, and guests can use either pool no matter which side they’re staying on. Jambo House has the Uzima Springs Pool, a zero-entry pool with a 67-foot waterslide. Over at Kidani Village, the Samawati Springs Pool offers a 128-foot waterslide and the interactive Uwanja Camp water play area. A note for animal lovers: because Uzima Springs sits so close to the savanna, there’s no pool hopping right at that specific pool, but guests can still use both resort pools overall. Time for Some Fun in the Sun Riviera Resort Disney’s Riviera Resort keeps it simple with two pools. The main Riviera Pool includes a slide that winds around a column tower, plus the S’il Vous Play splash area for kids. Just steps away is the quieter Beau Soleil Pool, ideal for guests who want a more relaxed swim. S’il Vous Play Kids Area Polynesian Village Resort Guests staying at the Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort or the Island Tower villas can use all three of the resort’s pools. The volcano-themed Lava Pool is the main event, featuring a 142-foot waterslide. The Oasis Pool offers a quieter, saltwater alternative, and the newest addition, the Cove Pool near Island Tower, comes with the Moana-themed Moana’s Voyage splash area for little ones. Cove Pool BoardWalk Inn BoardWalk Inn’s carnival-themed Luna Park Pool is the star of the show, complete with its 200-foot Keister Coaster waterslide. But guests aren’t limited to just that one — there are also two quieter leisure pools on the property (one near the Inn’s Rose Garden Courtyard and another by Community Hall on the Villas side) for a calmer swim. BoardWalk’s Luna Park Pool Caribbean Beach Resort As one of the largest resorts at Disney World, Disney’s Caribbean Beach has six pools total. The pirate-themed Fuentes del Morro Pool is the feature pool, with two waterslides and water cannons. Beyond that, each of the resort’s five villages has its own leisure pool: the Aruba Village Pool, Barbados Village Pool, Jamaica Village Pool, Martinique Village Pool, and Trinidad Village Pool. Fuentes del Morro pool at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort Grand Floridian Resort & Spa Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort keeps things elegant with two pools open to all resort and villa guests. The Beach Pool is the busier of the two, with a 181-foot waterslide and views of Seven Seas Lagoon. The Courtyard Pool, located behind the main lobby, offers a quieter, more tranquil swim. Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort Courtyard Pool Old Key West Resort Disney’s Old Key West has four pools spread across its sprawling grounds. The Sandcastle Pool is the main feature pool, complete with a sandcastle-themed waterslide. From there, guests can hop to any of the resort’s three quiet pools, located in the Old Turtle Pond, South Point, and Miller’s Road sections. Old Key West Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa With five pools on property, Disney’s Saratoga Springs gives guests plenty of options. The High Rock Spring Pool is the resort’s main pool, with a 128-foot waterslide and a Donald Duck-themed kids’ play area. The Paddock Pool is the resort’s second feature pool, featuring a 146-foot waterslide built into a water tower. Rounding things out are three quiet pools at the Grandstand, Congress Park, and the Treehouse Villas. Saratoga Springs Coronado Springs Resort Disney’s Coronado Springs‘ main pool area, known as the Dig Site, is home to the Mayan ruins-themed Lost City of Cibola Pool, complete with a 123-foot waterslide. Guests can also pool hop to any of the resort’s three quiet pools, located in the Casitas, Ranchos, and Cabanas sections. Dig Site Whether you’re staying at a Value resort or a Deluxe resort, there’s a good chance your hotel has more than one pool waiting for you — and the best part is, you don’t have to pick just one! Across all 16 of these resorts, guests are free to explore every pool their resort has to offer, from feature pools with towering waterslides to quiet leisure pools perfect for an afternoon nap in the sun.
