Disney and Formula 1® are bringing the next chapter of their global collaboration to life at the Formula 1® Gran Premio d’Italia 2026, taking place September 4-6 in Monza. Following the recent announcement extending the Disney x Formula 1® collaboration through 2028 and welcoming Disney and Pixar’s Cars into the global program for the first time, one of Formula 1®’s most iconic race weekends will serve as a special celebration of the 20th anniversary of the beloved film franchise, coinciding with Lightning McQueen Day on September 5. Twenty years after racing into theaters and the hearts of fans around the world, Lightning McQueen is arriving at Monza sporting an all-new look inspired by the Disney x Formula 1® collaboration. The seven-time Piston Cup champion will make a special appearance during race weekend, including an honorary lap, creating a landmark crossover moment for Disney, Pixar, and Formula 1® fans alike. As part of the celebration, the Mercedes-AMG GT 63 PRO 4MATIC+, introduced earlier this season at the Hungarian Grand Prix 2026, will receive a bespoke Cars-inspired makeover created exclusively for race weekend. The high-performance vehicle serves as the first Official FIA Formula 1® Safety Car equipped with fully variable all-wheel drive and marks the 14th Official FIA Formula 1® Safety Car to carry the iconic three-pointed star. The special design brings together the worlds of Disney, Pixar and Formula 1®, paying tribute to two decades of Cars storytelling on one of motorsport’s biggest stages. Fans attending Monza will also have the opportunity to shop the Disney and Pixar’s Cars with Formula 1® collection trackside throughout race weekend. The assortment includes apparel, accessories, collectibles, and die-cast vehicles from Mattel inspired by the world of Cars and Formula 1®. For those tuning in or celebrating from home, select products from the collection will also be available online at the Formula 1® Official Online Store and DisneyStore.com, allowing fans around the world to join in the festivities ahead of Lightning McQueen Day on September 5. From the racetrack to retail, Monza marks the latest milestone in the Disney x Formula 1® collaboration as the two brands continue creating new ways for fans to connect with beloved characters, memorable stories, and the excitement of racing. By bringing Disney and Pixar’s Cars to one of Formula 1®’s most iconic race weekends, the activation celebrates the enduring legacy of Lightning McQueen while showcasing the continued evolution of the Disney x Formula 1® relationship. A Disney World park practically empty — how is that even possible?!? Two Words: After Hours. EPCOT After Hours Disney World’s After Hours Events are separately ticketed events that allow guests to enjoy beloved attractions with lower wait times for an extra three hours after the park closes to the public, plus enjoy included snacks and drinks. Guests can enter the park at 7 PM, giving them a few extra hours in the park before the event even begins! We recently attended an After Hours Event at EPCOT, and we couldn’t believe how different the park felt! Before we get into some of our experiences, let’s have a quick rundown of what’s offered at the park during these events. Attractions generally scheduled to be available during EPCOT’s After Hours Events include: Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure Frozen Ever After Soarin’ Across America Gran Fiesta Tour Starring The Three Caballeros Living with the Land Mission: SPACE The Seas with Nemo & Friends Spaceship Earth Test Track In addition, there are free snack offerings, as well as some open merchandise and food locations, unique entertainment offerings, and character appearances scattered throughout the park. Alright, with that out of the way, let’s get down to the nitty-gritty of what it was like to be in the park during this event. After Hours It Felt “Empty” The biggest thing we noticed was just how empty the park felt, even compared to Hollywood Studios during an After Hours Event. This was mainly due to EPCOT’s massive size and layout, which leads to a much more spread-out crowd. Plus, the back half of World Showcase (between France and China) was fully closed off, leading to an interesting crowd flow that required people to travel to the front of World Showcase to get between Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure and Frozen Ever After. Empty EPCOT Maple Popcorn! As mentioned above, one of the included perks with After Hours tickets is some snacks. These usually include bottled soft drinks, popcorn, and Mickey Ice Cream Bars. However, EPCOT’s Canada Pavilion offered a surprise treat, as the pavilion offered the delicious maple popcorn FREE to party guests! Maple Popcorn Drinking Around the World is Difficult As mentioned above, all of World Showcase between France and China was closed during the event. Plus, there wasn’t much open in some of the open pavilions, including La Cava del Tequila being shuttered. In other words, it’s hard to engage in classic drinking around the world during the party. La Cava del Tequila Wait Times Were SHORT A major part of the appeal of these After Hours Events is shorter wait times, and our experience at EPCOT lived up to that. All of the available rides were under an hour, and truthfully, outside of the big attractions like Cosmic Rewind, Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure, and Frozen Ever After, pretty much everything was close to a walk-on. Walk on! If a night at a vibe-filled empty EPCOT sounds appealing to you, the park’s remaining 2026 After Hours Events are scheduled for September 16th and 24th. Guests with After Hours Event tickets can enter the park at 7 PM, and the event lasts from 9:30 PM to 12:30 AM. Event tickets are $155 to $189 per ticket, plus tax, depending on the date. If you can’t make those dates, you’ll need to wait for the 2027 dates to be announced. Stay tuned to DFB for more on those dates as they’re announced! Planning a Disney World trip can be complicated — we certainly know that firsthand. You’ve got to worry about when to visit, what sort of tickets to buy, which hotel to stay at, where to make dining reservations, and a whole lot more. Happily Ever After Things can get even more complicated when you realize that Disney is known for changing park hours and showtimes around, and you don’t want to be left out of the loop. The Disney World calendar is always changing, but we’re constantly checking it to make sure we have the most up-to-date info — and that’s why we need to let you know about this upcoming Magic Kingdom fireworks change! Heads up, Disney fans! Your Magic Kingdom game plan will need to change starting in November. Happily Ever After, Magic Kingdom’s current fireworks show, will start at 8 PM each night beginning on November 1st. For now, that change will continue as far as the Disney calendar currently goes, but we’ll keep an eye on it and let you know of any further changes. Happily Ever After Happily Ever After is the nighttime fireworks show in Magic Kingdom, complete with lights, lasers, and projection effects. It takes place most evenings (though it may not run if the park is scheduled to close early for a special event that day), and the showtime typically varies throughout the year depending on daylight hours and park operating hours. Happily Ever After Projections As of Monday, August 31st, the start time for the Happily Ever After fireworks is 9:30 PM. Disney often updates the start time for these fireworks based on park hours and as the time changes throughout the year. Since Daylight Saving Time is scheduled to end on November 1st, it makes sense that Disney would make this change on the same day. There aren’t many places in Disney World that offer lamb, but now you can get a new dish at Disney Springs! The Polite Pig If you’re a fan of lamb, you’re going to want to check out the Polite Pig! We’re big fans of the barbecue spot located in Town Center at Disney Springs, so we get excited when new dishes drop at the dining spot. We got to try the new dish, and now we’re bringing you our full review. The Polite Pig just dropped the Lamb Shank for $28. It’s a lamb shank with creamy sweet corn risotto, fresh watermelon, radish, roasted butternut squash, and a rich demi-glacé. Lamb Shank There is so much going on with this dish, and it all works so well together. You can see the char when you cut into the lamb shank that has clearly been smoked for a very long time. It has a beautiful bark on the outside, and it’s full of flavor. You get warm, smoky notes with garlic, pepper, and other warm notes to the spice. The spice rub they use leaves a tingling, pleasant feeling on your tongue when eaten. It blends so well with the risotto with watermelon radish and the parsley salad tossed with fresh red onions. The flavors seem strong from the parsley and red onion. This looks so tasty! You can actually taste the components even with the strength of the lamb flavor that is so robust and so bold. The risotto is so creamy, with layers of flavor from the corn. Everything goes well with the lamb and a little bit of the parsley salad, which is lightly tossed in a light vinaigrette. It added so much freshness to the lamb, and having a bite with the radish, the risotto, and the parsley salad brings wonderful notes of acidity to the plate. Lamb Shank One thing we did not see is the promised butternut squash. The demi-glacé is around the edge of a plate, and it is rich and earthy and creamy and spicy, and they put just enough where you can have some bites with the demi-glacé. This is great! You do have to be a great fan of lamb, because the way that they have prepared this has brought out the quintessential gaminess that comes with lamb. If you’re used to a milder lamb, you might not like this. If you’re a fan of meats like venison or duck, this lamb will knock your socks off! Lamb Shank This is a dish we would definitely order again…and again. It is a limited-time addition to their menu, so you’re going to need to get it fast. Also, be aware that this is HUGE. You should at least bring a friend to share this or be absolutely starving. You need to try this! For more Disney food reviews, make sure to stay tuned to the Disney Food Blog! On August 25th, 2026, the world lost an icon and legend, Dolly Parton. Welcome to Dollywood! In addition to being a singer, songwriter, and country music legend, Dolly Parton was also an actress who starred in several movies, including Steel Magnolias and 9 to 5. She was also the Dreamer-in-Chief of the Dollywood theme park, which was inspired by her upbringing in Sevierville, Tennessee. Dollywood has just revealed how they plan on honoring Dolly’s legacy, and we think it’s perfect. Following the tragic loss of the iconic Dolly Parton, Dollywood has just announced how they plan on honoring her legacy and contribution to not just music, but to the world. Dollywood is adding a new portal into the Dolly Parton experience along with a new grand finale to the “I Will Always Love You” section of the Dolly Parton experience. Concept art of the new entrance Additionally, the banners around the park to honor Dolly will stay up near the Dolly Parton experience. Dollywood Banners Dollywood is adding a tribute kiosk in Wildwood Grove to digitally document their Dolly stories. “We’re giving an option for those stories to be personal and private, but you’ll also have an opportunity to check a box to share your story publicly,” said Eugene Naughton, new President of Dollywood. They intend to use those stories publicly to showcase Dolly’s impact long-term. Tribute kiosk concept art One of Dolly’s favorite parts of the park was the Robert F. Thomas Chapel, which is being redone in her honor. A new waterfall will be installed with a special reflection area with a sculpted, stained-glass guitar. Naughton hopes this spot will be a great place for Dollywood visitors to reflect on Dolly Parton’s philanthropic impact. Stained-glass guitar concept art Dolly will also be immortalized in the park with a character inspired by her, the Dreammaker. The Dreammaker will enter Wildwood Grove to interact with kids of all ages and share Dolly’s passion for dreaming big and having stories. If there’s one piece of Disney nostalgia that we keep coming back to, it’s the Disney Store. We loved going to the mall (because they were always in a mall) and walking past all the stuffed animals and watching the Disney movie clips playing in the background. Ugh, I want to go back to the early 2000s just thinking about it. ©Disney While most physical Disney Stores no longer exist, we do most of our shopping on the Disney Store website! We always find great souvenirs on it and can usually snag free shipping too. You can imagine our surprise when we heard some of the Disney Store international websites were closing — how will people get their Disney merch?? The Disney Store website for Australia and New Zealand, along with the site for Singapore and Malaysia, are closing down on September 30th. Memos popped up on their websites saying “Disney Store will continue to operate in Singapore until 30 September 2026, after which your local online store will close. Orders placed through the 30th September will continue to be fulfilled from our local warehouse.” ©Disney Now, the main Disney Store website does ship internationally, but shipping costs can be very high, including exchange rates. It definitely adds another barrier to ordering Disney souvenirs, especially right before the holiday season. Shopping If you live in any of those countries and were planning to order items for the holidays, we recommend doing so sooner rather than later, especially before that September 30th cutoff. While you can still order from the US store, shipping will be expensive and take a long time. If you’re heading to the parks any time soon, it might be a good idea to stock up on gifts, too. Minnie Those of us in the US and other countries could order from the Singapore site to get exclusive international souvenirs. Recently, Disney has been adding some of those international finds to the US website, but the international sites were the only ones that consistently had those exclusive souvenirs. ©Disney Disney hasn’t released any additional information about the sites or whether alternative plans are in place. We’ll be keeping an eye out to see if any further changes are announced, so make sure you keep following Disney Food Blog for more Disney news. Even after all this time, the Disneyland Resort continues to find ways to surprise me. Oogie Boogie I’ve been going to Disneyland for 30 years — yes, THIRTY YEARS — but that doesn’t mean I’ve explored every nook and cranny. In fact, I just attended my very FIRST Oogie Boogie Bash this year! I know. I know. If you’re a Disneyland regular, you’re probably wondering how I managed to avoid one of the biggest Halloween events at the Disneyland Resort for THIS long. Well, I reckoned it was time to finally experience this huge Disney California Adventure party, and I went in with pretty reasonable expectations. Suffice it to say, I walked away with some shocking discoveries. I figured there would be Halloween decorations, some characters, candy, special entertainment, and maybe a few shorter ride waits. What I wasn’t expecting was just how much I would feel both during and after the event. After finally experiencing Oogie Boogie Bash for myself, there are three things that genuinely shocked me. 1. The Value Is WAY Better Than I Expected Let’s get one thing out of the way first: Oogie Boogie Bash tickets are not cheap. Tickets range between $139 and $199 per person, and they don’t include all-day access or park-hopping capabilities. But when you actually look at what you’re getting, the value is surprisingly good. Let’s go to Oogie Boogie Bash! The ticket price can be comparable to what you might pay for a regular one-day, one-park Disneyland ticket. But Oogie Boogie Bash gives you something that a normal park day doesn’t necessarily provide: a significantly different experience with a much emptier-feeling Disney California Adventure. Happy Halloween from Disney California Adventure! And you get more time than you’d initially think! The party officially gets going in the evening at 6 PM, but guests can enter Disney California Adventure as early as 3 PM. The party doesn’t end until 11 PM — so that gives you a whopping eight hours in DCA. Madame Leota’s Singing Wake And during the party itself, you have access to experiences and offerings that you simply aren’t going to get on a normal day. There are shorter waits for many attractions, tons of characters, Halloween entertainment, themed areas, special treats, and — perhaps most importantly — candy. Lots and lots of candy. Got our bag and wristband, so let’s trick-or-treat! Yes, you are essentially paying Disney to let you walk around California Adventure collecting candy. And honestly? It’s worth it. My bag alone still isn’t empty, and I walked away with A BUCNH of goodies. Still, the biggest thing for me was how much more manageable the park felt. You aren’t trying to cram all of this into a normal, packed Disney day while it’s 90 degrees out. The event gives you a different rhythm. Ernesto de la Cruz The flexibility offered is unique to this event, and I wasn’t quite ready for it. 2. The Atmosphere Is WAY More Immersive Than I Expected I expected Oogie Boogie Bash to look like Halloween, and I was ready for the cuteness and Disney showmanship, but I didn’t necessarily expect it to feel like Halloween. Events like Universal’s Halloween Horror Nights can really embrace the holiday — no holds barred because it caters to an older audience. Disney still has to be family-friendly, and it was, but there was a bit more theming that toed the line of being very spooky that really impressed me. Oogie Boogie Bash Once the party gets going, the atmosphere becomes a huge part of the experience. Disney creates different themed areas throughout the park, and some of them are surprisingly elaborate. Villains Grove is probably the most obvious example. It’s a little spooky in here! This isn’t just “Hey, there are some Halloween decorations over here.” It feels like you’ve stepped into a completely different environment. There are lights, sounds, projections, effects, music, and an overall atmosphere that makes you slow down and actually take in your surroundings. Villains Grove And then there are the characters. They are EVERYWHERE. There are so many opportunities to see characters throughout the event that it can start to feel like you’re constantly choosing between things you want to do. Hades Treat Trail I’m personally not much of a character fanatic, but I still enjoyed them nevertheless! You get to see a bunch of villains with this event, and those characters can often be sassy, extra-creative, and quite funny. Maleficent With that said, if your priority is character interactions, get ready to wait in long lines. Those eight hours can fly by fast, and it’s easy to miss opportunities to ride attractions, grab snacks, check out a street show, or revisit a treat trail. Judge Doom Let’s talk about the music for a minute. Disney goes HARD on the Halloween soundtrack. You’re going to hear a LOT of Halloween music during Oogie Boogie Bash — and it really does immerse you in this manufactured Halloween realm. I have to sing! For the most part, this is pretty cool. HOWEVER, I’m not necessarily the biggest fan of every single Halloween song that Disney has chosen to blast throughout the park, and the songs do repeat over and over again. While there were some bops, I did get tired of some songs. Dr. Doofenschmirtz All in all, the music does make the event feel like an actual party rather than a normal day at Disney California Adventure with a Halloween overlay. That distinction surprised me. 3. There Really IS Something for Everyone I typically budget my Disney days to regular park days, and my Magic Key annual pass rather than splurging on after-hours events, and my aversion to character meet-and-greets typically keeps me away from events that really focus on these kinds of experiences. But I was fairly surprised by how much fun I had. Agatha at Oogie Boogie Oogie Boogie Bash isn’t really one experience. It’s a bunch of different experiences happening at the same time — which means you can make the event whatever you want it to be. Oogie Boogie Bash Map Love characters? You can go all-in on character meet-and-greets and treat trails. Love candy? Congratulations. You have found your Olympics. Obsessed with rides? You can spend your night taking advantage of shorter wait times and enjoying attractions. Craving some exclusive eats? There are special Halloween treats and food offerings to hunt down. Ready to take in some spooky entertainment? There are special shows and entertainment throughout the event. Constance Hatchaway Float What you CAN’T do is everything. There is simply too much happening. If you try to experience every character meet-and-greet and every attraction, you’re probably going to spend the entire evening running around and wondering where your time went. ©Disney Instead, I think the trick is to figure out what YOUR thing is. But keep in mind — I think it’s totally possible to do a little bit of everything in eight hours. In my 30 years of visiting Disneyland, that’s not a sentence I was able to utter. I’ve experienced plenty of Halloween at the Disneyland Resort over the years. But Oogie Boogie Bash feels different because it gives you the opportunity to make your own version of the event. And honestly, I wish I’d tried it sooner. ©Disney So, if you’ve been putting off Oogie Boogie Bash because the ticket price seems high or because you’re wondering whether there’s enough to actually do, I’d say it’s worth taking another look. We’ve covered the event thoroughly so you can know what you’re getting into and plan before your visit (game-planning certainly helped me!). Although we were very sad to say goodbye to Muppets Courtyard in Disney’s Hollywood Studios when we closed, we are legitimately excited about what’s taking its place: Monstropolis. For the first time ever, Disney is bringing Monsters, Inc. to life through a new land in a theme park, and we can’t wait to see what the new land has in store. ©Disney Of course, you know us — we’re even MORE excited about eating in the new land, and couldn’t be more thrilled that Disney decided to bring Harryhausen’s from the Monsters, Inc. movie to life, complete with the monster sushi chef from that film. Well, we just got a close look at the animatronic sushi chef you’ll see in the restaurant, and let’s just say our minds are BLOWN. Beyond this, Disney hasn’t revealed a LOT of details about Harryhausen’s, although as far as the menu goes, Disney has said it would feature more than sushi. The restaurant is scheduled to open in 2027 as part of the initial opening phase of the new land, so you know we’ll be there on day one to check it out. ©Disney We’ll keep an eye out for more Disney World news, so stay tuned to DFB for more. Believe it or not, 2027 is almost upon us, and many guests are already planning their Universal Orlando trips for next year. Universal Orlando If that’s you, you should take a look at Universal’s refurbishment calendar before deciding on dates, as we already know of some 2027 ride closures across the resort’s theme parks. Universal Studios Florida Currently, there are no closures scheduled at Universal’s original Florida park for 2027. However, both Finnegan’s Bar & Grill (which has been shuttered since January 12th) and Universal Orlando’s Horror Make-Up Show (which has been closed since May 12th) are scheduled to reopen in “Winter 2026.” Given the ambitious nature of that timeline, there’s at least a chance that one or both of those closures could leak into the early weeks of 2027. Finnegan’s Bar & Grill 10 Weeks When Universal Orlando Could Be Empty in 2027 Islands of Adventure Next door at Islands of Adventure, two popular rides are scheduled to see some downtime during the early months of the year: Popeye & Bluto’s Bilge-Rat Barges is set to be down from January 4th through February 2nd. This type of seasonal refurbishment is common for water rides during the early months of the year, as even Florida’s climate is generally too cold for them to be ridden comfortably. Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey will be down for a quick refurbishment from February 8th through February 19th, which cuts right into the midwinter recess at many Northeastern schools. Hogwarts Good news for 2027 Islands of Adventure visitors is that the Jurassic Park River Adventure, which closed way back on January 5th, 2026, is currently scheduled to reopen on November 19th. Jurassic Park is scheduled to reopen in November Why Universal Orlando Passholders Are Running to the Parks Epic Universe Over at Epic Universe, the Fyre Drill attraction in the Isle of Berk portal — not coincidentally, another water attraction — is scheduled to be closed from January 25th to February 4th. Fyre Drill Finally, Volcano Bay is currently scheduled to begin a maintenance closure on October 26th, 2026, with a planned reopening on or before April 1st, 2027. ©bioreconstruct If you’re planning a trip to Universal Orlando during the early months of 2027, be prepared to run into some already scheduled closures at the resort. Disney’s BoardWalk is one of our favorite resorts to visit at Disney World. From the food to the shopping to the vibes, we find ourselves here time and time again, although things haven’t felt quite the same since Jellyrolls closed. Hurly-Burly It’s been over a year since the duelling piano bar closed at Boardwalk, and as much as we love the resort, we felt like it needed something for nightlife. Well, the Boardwalk is undergoing a massive change, adding new shopping, dining, and entertainment locations! One thing we’re specifically excited about is the new lounge, Hurly-Burly. However, did you notice the small detail Disney mentioned about it? Disney’s Hurly-Burly Lounge is a new lounge coming to Boardwalk, taking over where Jellyrolls used to be. Disney said it will have “entertainment offerings, vintage drinks and lite bites inspired by an era of world-class performances and nautical novelty!” We got a ton of other news on the lounge recently, but you may have missed a small detail. Hurly-Burly Concept Art ©Disney Hurly-Burly will have a lounge where you can enjoy eats, drinks, and entertainment, but the new dining spot is also going to have a walk-up window for select beverages. So, if you’re going for a stroll down Disney’s BoardWalk, you can stop by Hurly-Burly’s window for a quick grab-and-go drink! Hurly-Burly This is going to be an awesome addition, as Disney’s Boardwalk has a lot of guests who just like to walk around during the day and during the night. Those who aren’t looking to sit down anywhere have an easy alternative to still enjoy the lounge’s offerings. It’s also perfect for nights when it may be too busy for more guests, which may be the case when it first opens. Hard at work Now, you won’t be able to get EVERY drink from Hurly-Burly at the walk-up window, but there is a handful of select options. The options will include: Caramel Corn Cold Brew: Joffrey’s Cold Brew Coffee topped with caramel sweet cream and caramel popcorn (Available at the walk-up window) Cherry Marquee: Minute Maid Premium Lemonade blended with Amarena cherries and garnished with a gourmet cherry (Available at the walk-up window) Caramel Corn Old Fashioned: Woodford Reserve Kentucky Straight Bourbon, caramel corn, and The Bitter Truth Decanter Bitters (Available at the walk-up window) Cherry-Vodka Limeade: Tito’s Handmade Vodka, Amarena cherry, and cold-pressed lime juice (Available at the walk-up window) The Atlantic Review: Hangar One Mandarin Blossom Vodka, Cointreau Liqueur, Minute Maid Orange Juice, and Sprite (Available at the walk-up window) Bubble Brava!: Chinola Passion Fruit Liqueur, Italian Amaro, lemon juice, and Viarae Prosecco (Available at the walk-up window) La Taquilla Picante: Ghost Blanco Tequila, lime juice, orgeat, rose water, and a spiced nutmeg rim (Available at the walk-up window) Off-book Bramble: Fords Gin, Combier Crème de Mûre Liqueur, lemon juice, and blackberry (Available at the walk-up window) Disney didn’t mention anything about small bites being offered at the window as of right now. ©Disney As for the lounge, it will welcome guests for family-friendly fun, including host-led activities like trivia and other games during the day. Durning the lounge will become a 21-and-older space with live music performances, classic cocktails, and light bites. The waves are so fun! Inside the Hurly-Burly, guests can find bites like Meatballs in Tomato Gravy, Roast Beef Sliders, and the Oven-Roasted Shrimp for light bites. Disney did drop the FULL menu already, and there is a lot more being offered that we’re super excited about. ©Disney We can’t wait for the new lounge to open up, which will be on October 1st, 2026. We love a lot of things at Disney World, but we REALLY love Disney World transportation. We know that, compared to Mickey pretzels and meeting our favorite princesses, transportation might not seem like our favorite thing, but we love how magical it feels! Skyliner at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort What we don’t love are closures! But these closures help keep everything running smoothly for the future, so it’s a price we’re willing to pay. A closure has been announced for 2027 and 2028, which could affect which resort you want to stay at. The Disney World Skyliner will be closed for routine refurbishment from January 24th to 30th, 2027, and January 24th to February 2nd, 2028. We knew about the 2027 date, but the 2028 date is new. It seems like we can expect routine maintenance every year around the end of January. Inside the Disney Skyliner During these refurbishments, there will be complimentary bus transportation available, so don’t worry, you’ll still be able to get around. Disney World bus Having access to the Skyliner at your Disney World resort can be a huge perk, but if it’s closed for the week you’re going to be there, it might not be worth staying at those resorts. Those resorts include: Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort Disney’s Riviera Resort Disney’s Pop Century Resort Disney’s Art of Animation Resort Skyliner at Caribbean Beach Resort It also connects you to EPCOT and Hollywood Studios. EPCOT’s Skyliner stop is at the International Gateway entrance, near the U.K. and France Pavilions, and is only a short walk from Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club Resort and Disney’s BoardWalk Inn. You’ll be able to walk to EPCOT from those resorts, but it’s an easy ride to Hollywood Studios. EPCOT Skyliner Station Should you stay at a Skyliner resort during the closure? Well, it might be a little quieter than usual because others might choose a different resort. If you’re not obsessed with the Skyliner, you might enjoy using the buses, and if you’re bringing your own car, you get complimentary parking at the hotels and parks. It all depends on how you and your family prefer to get around Disney World, but if you were planning to use the Skyliner, picking another hotel might be a good idea. The Hurly-Burly is set to open at Disney’s BoardWalk on October 1st. The space is taking over the old Jellyrolls building, and because of that, it has a lot to live up to. Fans were devastated when Jollyrolls closed, and everyone immediately started questioning what would take over the dueling pianos, which had been there for almost 30 years. Hurly-Burly Concept Art ©Disney While some are excited for the Hurly-Burly and the new food and drinks it’s going to offer, others aren’t too thrilled. What does the public say about Hurly-Burly? Let’s find out! Before we dive in too deep, what is the Hurly-Burly? The large restaurant and entertainment space will be open to families in the afternoons, with lively activities like trivia and games. Starting at 9 PM, the experience switches to guests ages 21 and older, with live music. ©Disney Some of the menu items include Meatballs in Tomato Gravy with veal, pork, and beef meatballs with tomato gravy, stacciatella cheese, Pecorino Romano, and toasted focaccia… ©Disney …Roast Beef Sliders with shaved roast beef and horseradish-mustard sour cream on slider rolls… ©Disney …Mini Apple Cider Doughnuts with miso-caramel sauce… ©Disney …Overture in Orange, which is a nostalgic frozen treat made with Minute Made Orange Juice topped with sweet cream… ©Disney …and Mertini made with Plymouth Navy Strength Gin, Dolin Dry Vermouth de Chambéry, and Hella Cocktail Co. Orange Bitters. Disney is bringing in that 1920s style all inspired by “an era of world-class performances and nautical novelty.” ©Disney We checked out our social media to see what people were saying about the space. Some questioned the photos, asking, “Were these pics made with AI? They look so strange.” ©Disney One commenter said, “Every time I hear about a new Disney Dining location, I get excited, until they post the menu. Now this is just another place there’s no point going to, and further proof that Disney is catering to foodies and has turned its back on anyone else.” ©Disney Quite a few commenters said “Prefer Jellyrolls honestly” and shared their love for the original space. Jellyrolls With the recent changes to bus transportation that stop guests from taking the free buses at Disney Springs to resorts with a room or dining reservations, one guest expressed how the transportation will be frustrating. So guests are restricted from parking at Boardwalk, can’t take bus transportation to Boardwalk from Springs, so they expect guests to park at Studios and walk, as after the park closes no transportation back.” That’s a valid point! The bus stop We also saw some comments on Disney’s official post with a lot of positive comments like “GET IN MY BELLY!” and “Oh I am SO ready.” Someone else said, “A new set of sliders just walked into town!” and someone said, “Can’t wait to be a hurly burly girly.” ©Disney The restaurant is set to open on October 1st, and we’re excited to see what’s happening. The menu is set to be an all-day experience, so you can grab a bite during the family-friendly hours and late at night. Disney has been repainting the building, and while we haven’t seen the inside yet, the concept art makes it look like a lot of fun. The waves are so fun! We’ll be there when Hurly-Burly opens so we can see it for ourselves and try all the dishes and drinks, but in the meantime, make sure you keep following Disney Food Blog for more news, along with tips and tricks on how to have the best Disney World vacation ever.
