  3. If there is one thing we LOVE, it’s a new behind-the-scenes look at a mysterious project coming to Disney World. ©Bioreconstruct Which is why we were thrilled to see that brand-new photos just dropped, giving us an updated look at the construction happening at the mysterious “Project Fedora” coming to Disney’s Hollywood Studios. If you’ve been keeping up with Disney World news, then you know that several months ago Disney filed permits for a “Project Fedora” in Hollywood Studios. There were no other details about what this project entails other than that it will take place somewhere between Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular and the Backlot Express. “Project Fedora” Permit ©Central Florida Tourism Oversight District Given the name, many people, us included, think this new mystery project might have something to do with Indiana Jones. Given that his iconic hat is a fedora and that this project is being built right next to the Indiana Jones show. Given the type of space, it is possible that “Project Fedora” could be a new merch stand, or even a stack stand, but Disney has yet to confirm anything. Project Fedora Construction in Hollywood Studios However, today Bioreconstruct just posted some new aerial photos that show construction is happening in this area! ©Bioreconstruct We can see a steel frame has recently been added, and though we still can’t quite make out what this space will turn into, we are so happy to have gotten another update on this mysterious project after months of waiting. This is the first actual construction we have seen happening, so hopefully this means we are one step closer to finding out what “Project Fedora” really is! ©Bioreconstruct You can view the whole Bioreconstruct post right here: We will continue to keep you updated on all the “Project Fedora” news and keep you informed of when Disney officially announces what is coming to this space. 4. Disney World drops NEW snacks and treats every single day. And we know it can be difficult to keep track of all of them, which is why we always make sure to bring you reviews of every new snack that pops up, so you know what to try and what to skip on your next trip. Cookie Butter Mini Churros Well, recently Disney World dropped six new Churro treats, and we are diving into full reviews of each and every one, and seeing which were the best! Now, before we get started, it is important to know that Disney World is known for making not great churros. No matter what, they never quite seem to hit the mark, which is why we are very interested to see if any of these six new treats are able to redeem the Disney World churro reputation. Churro These new churro treats popped up all across Disney World, but we are starting our journey in Magic Kingdom over at Energy Bytes. This is a walk-up counter located in Tomorrowland next to TRON Lightcycle / Run, where they are serving the Churro Overdrive for $8.49. This is made with Cookies and Cream Mini Churros, Blue Sugar, and Marshmallow. Churro Overdrive These churros had a very pleasant crunch and were almost reminiscent of kids’ cereal. The churro itself was a standard Disney churro, meaning it was not our favorite and left us slightly disappointed. There is quite a bit of that creamy white frosting; however, it is extremely sugary and did not have a distinct taste other than sugar. Churro Overdrive Unfortunately, the glaze filling the bottom of the cup makes the churros get very soggy quickly. The blue sugar is a fun detail that makes this visually interesting, and we think these would be a fan favorite for kids. But overall, these were nothing super memorable and felt like a very sweet version of a classic Disney World churro. Churro Overdrive Next up, we visited Isle of Java in Disney’s Animal Kingdom to try the Churro-misu Cold Brew for $7.99. This is Joffrey’s Cold Brew Coffee topped with a Tiramisu Cold Foam, served with Churros. Churro-misu Cold Brew If you love very strong coffee, then you will be a fan of this one! However, if you are expecting a super sweet coffee from the name, that is not what you will get here. The cold brew was incredibly strong and tasted amazing, but it was unsweetened. We expected the flavors from the cold foam to balance out this drink, but even after mixing it, it was still only lightly creamy and very subtly sweet. Churro-misu Cold Brew Now, if you are a strong coffee lover, this will be right up your alley, but if you are looking for a sweet coffee drink, we would suggest trying something else instead. Also, if you grab this drink, make sure to take out the churro right away because it will get soggy quickly. Churro-misu Cold Brew Our churro adventures next took us to Warung Outpost, also in Animal Kingdom, to snag the Dole Whip Pineapple with Chili-Lime and Churro Sundae for $8.29. This is made with Pineapple Dole Whip, Chili-Lime-marinated Pineapple, Coconut, and Churros. Dole Whip Pineapple with Chili-Lime and Churro Sundae Unfortunately, this dessert faces the same problem as most treats that use a classic Disney churro: the standard Disney World churros are just not amazing. And sadly, the quality of the churro is not improved by presenting it in this unique way. However, the Dole Whip here was incredibly delicious, and the chili lime provided an amazing kick. We also loved the bits of marinated pineapple throughout. Dole Whip Pineapple with Chili-lime and Churro Sundae Our only complaint is that we wish there had been even more of the chili-lime flavor, since after a bit you are just left with classic Dole Whip. Overall, we would recommend taking the churros out quickly to avoid them getting soggy, but this was a great ice cream treat that is perfect for a hot day in Disney World. Dole Whip Pineapple with Chili-lime and Churro Sundae Next up, we went to Sunshine Seasons in EPCOT to try the Churro Strawberry Shortcake Sundae for $8.29. This is made with Churro Loops, Strawberry Soft-serve, Strawberry Compote, Whipped Cream, and Cake Crumbs. Churro Strawberry Shortcake Sundae Okay, we were shocked by how much we loved these churros! The loops were crunchy and full of cinnamon sugar, everything we want but typically do not get in a Disney World churro. The strawberry ice cream had a pleasant taste but did melt extremely quickly, even inside. Churro Strawberry Shortcake Sundae The strawberry compote was amazing and added some great texture. The best bites here included all of the elements, including the churro, together. This was fantastic, and we would definitely recommend trying it on your next visit to EPCOT, especially if you are looking for a great churro. Churro Strawberry Shortcake Sundae We also took a trip to Ice Cold Hydraulics in Hollywood Studios to grab the Cookie Butter Mini Churros for $8.29. These are Churros with Cookie Butter Cream and Crushed Cookies. Cookie Butter Mini Churros These did not taste like standard Disney Churros! They were extremely crunchy outside while being fluffy inside. The cinnamon sugar and cookie butter crumb flavors worked together very well. The cookie butter drizzle was fantastic, and we wished there had been even more of it in a cup on the side so you could dip it. Cookie Butter Mini Churros These were a hit, and we will for sure be grabbing them again on our next visit to Hollywood Studios! Cookie Butter Mini Churros Finally, we stopped by Anaheim Produce, also in Hollywood Studios, to grab our final Churro treat, the Bavarian Cream Filled Churros for $7.99. This is a Churro filled with Bavarian Cream, served with Chocolate Sauce. Bavarian Cream Filled Churros Unfortunately, this was not our favorite. The churro itself was completely plain with no coating on the outside, and the dough itself did not have a strong sweetness to it, and the texture tasted as though it might have been sitting out for a while. Bavarian Cream Filled Churros The Bavarian Cream was very creamy and rich. However, we do not think it was enough to make this churro great. The chocolate sauce was also a nice addition, but overall, this churro was pretty dry and plain, and it is not something we would recommend trying on your next visit. Bavarian Cream Filled Churros So, it looks like several of these treats WERE able to break that Disney World Churro curse and were very tasty, while others sadly did not quite meet the mark. We will continue to bring you food reviews from across Disney World, so stay tuned to Disney Food Blog so you never miss anything! 6. There’s more than meets the eye with this iconic Magic Kingdom restaurant! Crystal Palace Located at the end of Main Street, U.S.A., in Magic Kingdom, The Crystal Palace is a popular restaurant that features buffet meals, a stunning atmosphere, and visits from Pooh, Eeyore, Piglet, and Tigger as you dine. But the design of this restaurant isn’t just gorgeous — it also serves a hidden purpose that helps drive the detailed storytelling of the park! Let’s set the stage… You enter Magic Kingdom and stroll down the row of shops and restaurants that line Main Street U.S.A. From ragtime tunes courtesy of the Dapper Dans to quaint storefront displays, the small-town, turn-of-the-century vibes are at a max everywhere you look. As you reach the baseball-themed, hot dog-selling Casey’s Corner in all its Americana glory, you take a left and see the gorgeous Crystal Palace restaurant just around the corner. Crystal Palace The restaurant is designed to resemble England’s Crystal Palace, which was built in Hyde Park to house the Great Exhibition of 1851. Inside, the beautiful, glass greenhouse-themed space is decorated with plants, lights, and Winnie the Pooh-inspired details to complement the character dining experience. The entrance But the design of the Crystal Palace isn’t just beautiful — it’s also an intentional choice by Disney Imagineers to help transition from the Americana theming of Main Street, U.S.A., to the more exotic, lush vibes of Adventureland. Disney shared the inside scoop on how the Crystal Palace sets the stage for Adventureland in a recent Instagram post, highlighting just how this trick works! Disney Imagineering shared that The Crystal Palace acts as a “thematic bridge” that helps shift guests from the small-town Americana vibes of Main Street to the more exotic and exploratory experience of Adventureland. Let’s take a closer look at the magic in action! Mimosa at The Crystal Palace The Victorian conservatory architecture of The Crystal Palace blends well with the turn-of-the-century design language found along Main Street. But outside the restaurant near the edge of the hub, a lighter, garden-like atmosphere is introduced. The landscape textures intentionally change around The Crystal Palace, with towering palms, coffee trees, and other tropical plants signaling to guests that they’re now entering a new story. Magic Kingdom’s Crystal Palace Victorian-era conservatories allowed people to experience plants from places they weren’t able to visit themselves, meaning the unique backstory of The Crystal Palace sets the stage for the increasingly exotic foliage to be introduced seamlessly, without breaking the theming of the restaurant. Now that’s some serious attention to detail! Tigger and Piglet Topiaries inside Crystal Palace The Crystal Palace has been a longtime fan favorite spot for plenty of great reasons. The buffet-style meals feature some unique menu options, the atmosphere is absolutely gorgeous, and, of course, guests get to meet Winnie the Pooh and friends while they dine. But the backstory on just how intentionally thought out the theming is gives us one MORE reason to adore this spot! 7. JINGLE BELLS, JINGLE BELLS — what, too early? Well, not for Disney, that’s for sure! Jingle Cruise The holiday season is filled with lots of fun, unique activities in Disney World. Yes, you can pay extra to check out Jollywood Nights and Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, but if you’re looking for what you can do with just a regular park ticket, the ride overlays are what to look out for. A few rides only have holiday changes during the party, but Jingle Cruise is one you can count on once again this year to be available all day long! The Disney World website has just been updated to reveal the start date of Jingle Cruise this year, which will be November 3rd! Hours are showing throughout the entirety of November for this beloved holiday overlay, which features fun holiday additions and jokes throughout the ride. ©Disney However, we did notice an interesting glitch on the website. Though the Disney World calendar only goes out through December 9th at this time, the Jingle Cruise page doesn’t show any operating hours for December 1st-9th — instead, regular hours for those days are listed on the regular Jungle Cruise page. We know this ride isn’t going to randomly change back to the non-holiday version, though, because the website also lists that “Jungle Cruise will return early next year,” as it normally does once the holiday season is complete. Jingle Cruise If you’re looking for another holiday overlay in the park during regular hours, we recommend checking out Tomorrowland Speedway. We know, not a ride we’d normally recommend, but especially if you ride it at night, the decorations are stunning! In fact, it’s the only time of year we would recommend riding the attraction, because other times of the year, it really only draws in kiddos. We get it, though, because hey, getting to “drive” a car when you’re eight is pretty epic. Tomorrowland Speedway Looking for more holiday news for Disney parks? Check out our posts below! 8. Disney World has some amazing restaurants with such yummy food that it could change your life. There are so many places to choose from, but we always love great food with an even greater deal! Disney Springs And who doesn’t love saving money while traveling with the family? You can save some serious money this month, because kids eat free at two popular Disney Springs restaurants! At Paddlefish in Disney Springs, you’ll get one complimentary kids’ meal per adult entree ordered Monday through Friday until the end of October. The seafood restaurant has a large kids’ menu including filet, chicken, linguine, hot dogs, cheeseburgers, shrimp, and fish. Paddlefish For your adult entree, we recommend the Stuffed Cod for $39, which has shrimp and scallop cornbread stuffing, asparagus, red potato, and mustard cream sauce. The star of this dish was really the stuffing! It was pretty sweet and complemented the fish well. The asparagus was soft and easy to chew. The potatoes were crispy, and the mustard cream sauce was a little bitter with a dry, spicy flavor. Stuffed Cod You can get the same deal at Terralina Crafted Italian in The Landing. Kids eat free through October, and you’ll get one kids’ meal per adult entree ordered, Monday through Friday. This Italian restaurant has a kids’ menu featuring pizza, spaghetti, ravioli, mac and cheese, burgers, chicken, fish, and hot dogs. Terralina Crafted Italian For your adult entree, we love the Crafted Burger. It probably sounds silly to get a burger from an Italian restaurant, but it’s one of the best burgers in Disney Springs. It’s ground chuck and brisket cooked to your preferred temperature, arugula, tomato, pickled red onion, melted cheddar, and chili-sage aioli, all on a toasted bun, served with housemade truffle potato chips and garlic pickles for $23. The cheddar cheese melds with perfectly cooked beef and smoky brisket, while the fresh veggies craft an artisanal burger experience. 9. Think you know everything about planning a Disney World vacation? THINK AGAIN. Things around here change constantly, and even if you took a vacation last November, things are ENTIRELY different. Cinderella Castle And the Magic Kingdom isn’t a special exception — it’s actually changed SO MUCH over the past year. So, what do you need to know about going to Magic Kingdom in November? Let’s talk it out. Happily Ever After Won’t Show On 12 Nights November sees the start of Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, a special-ticketed event where guests can experience holiday magic in the Magic Kingdom filled with Christmas parades and fireworks, exclusive character meet-and-greets, festive food offerings, and lower wait times! Because the park closes early for the party, the Happily Ever After fireworks spectacular will not show on party nights. With 12 party nights in November, this means that Happily Ever After will not show on 12 nights. Happily Ever After The NEW Rule You Have To Follow for Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party in Disney World Plan Around The Holidays If You Can November is when the crowds REALLY start to pick up in Disney World, especially around the holidays, so if you can plan your vacation around them, DO IT! The three-day Veterans Day weekend and the week of Thanksgiving can be very crowded. Try to plan your trip on the weekdays for the least number of crowds — this will give you the best chance to get on as many rides as possible, snag harder-to-get reservations, and find a table at the quick-service restaurants! Crowds in the Magic Kingdom JUST ANNOUNCED: Park Hours for Thanksgiving Week at Disney World The Christmas Parade Won’t Show During The Day One of the best entertainment offerings at Magic Kingdom is the parades — they don’t happen anywhere else! However, if you have a day ticket to the Magic Kingdom and were hoping to see the Christmas parade, I’m afraid you’re out of luck. The Christmas parade only happens during Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, while the Festival of Fantasy Parade and the Adventure Friends Cavalcade show during the day. If you were really hoping to experience the Christmas parade, we recommend grabbing a ticket to the party and showing up at least 30 minutes before the parade starts! Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party Everything Returning to Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party in Disney World in 2026 Pack A Little Bit Of Everything The weather in Disney World in November can be quite…unpredictable. One day it could be 80° and sunny, and the next day it could be 50° and cloudy. Because of this, you should pack a little bit of everything — sweatshirts, T-shirts, shorts, pants, ponchos… EVERYTHING! It’s better to be prepared than to have to drop a lot of $$$ on new clothes you may want, but definitely don’t need. The Sorcerer Mickey Sweatshirt How El Niño Could Affect Disney World This Winter Some Paths Will Be Blocked By Construction A lot of change is taking place around Magic Kingdom right now with the preparation of two new lands and refurbishing an attraction. Because of this, paths may be unavailable for guests to use. One specific one to note is the bridge from Liberty Square to Frontierland — this bridge is currently behind walls for the construction of Piston Peak. Looks like you’ll just have to take the long way for now! Piston Peak Construction “We All Know The Abundance of Cars in Colonial America.” Disney Fans React to the ‘Cars’ Land Announcements A Popular Attraction Will Be Closed For Refurbishment Finally, beginning November 2nd, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure will close for refurbishment. The attraction is currently scheduled to open back up at the end of December. So, if you’re headed to Frontierland and hoping to head down the bayou in November, the only day you’ll be able to do so is November 1st. But don’t worry, there are still PLENTY of other amazing attractions in Magic Kingdom to ride, including the newly refurbished Big Thunder Mountain Railroad! Tiana’s Bayou Adventure We don’t want you to be surprised on your vacations, so be sure to remember these six things to have a smooth and magical trip! 10. We finally got an update on Universal Orlando’s Horror Make-Up Show, and it’s a big one! Universal Studios Orlando Universal Horror Make-Up Show at Universal Studios Florida closed earlier this year on May 12th. The closure was for a refurbishment to completely reimagine the classic attraction to have a mix of classic and modern horror properties. After a long wait, Universal has given us an update, and while we’re still waiting on some details, this new attraction title says a lot. Universal Studios Orlando just announced Universal Horror Make-Up Show featuring Blumhouse! This new live show will have guests “discover how Hollywood’s top special effects artists have terrified moviegoers for over 100 years, from Universal’s classic monsters to the modern horrors of Blumhouse.” ©Universal We were huge fans of the original version of this show that went through how Hollywood makes some of their iconic monsters and special effects. The magic really started in the queue, where you’d see real props from famous movies. We’re really curious to see what this new version of the show brings! @Universal Universal posted that there will be more details coming soon, but they haven’t announced when those details could be coming. Universal also hasn’t shared when we could be seeing this new version of the show open. We’ll keep our eyes and ears open for any news that could be dropping. ©Universal While you’re waiting for this horror show, you can still go and enjoy frights and fears at Universal Halloween Horror Nights! The event is still taking place on select nights through November 1st, and it features tons of immersive haunted houses, scare zones, exclusive food, merchandise, and more. Halloween Horror Nights We’re always on top of all the latest theme park news and updates. 11. If EPCOT is your favorite Disney World park, pay close attention because we just stayed in one of the CLOSEST hotel rooms to the park, and we’re here to give you the FULL TOUR! Disney’s BoardWalk Inn Disney’s BoardWalk Inn is located just STEPS away from one of EPCOT’s entrances and gives you access to some of the rides other guests will have to take a trek to get to (hint: it’s one of the most popular rides in the park!). So, if you’re looking for convenience and are hoping to get as many attractions done as possible, STAY HERE! Come take a look at their rooms — they’re GORGEOUS! Atmosphere Disney’s BoardWalk Inn is one of Disney World’s Deluxe resorts located on Crescent Lake between Hollywood Studios and EPCOT. Here, you’ll find a mix of nostalgic coastal features with nods to classic Atlantic City and Coney Island vacation culture. At night, the BoardWalk comes to life with entertainment and late-night dining options, including the newly opened Hurly-Burly! The lobby is filled with gold, white, and light blue colors, creating that classic seaside feeling. We recently stayed in one of the hotel’s standard rooms, and we’re bringing you along with us for the FULL tour! BoardWalk Inn Lobby Standard Room When you walk into one of their standard rooms, you’re met with either two queen beds or one king bed, depending on what type of room you chose at the time of booking. The room is well lit with lamps and overhead lights, and the patterns match that classical coastal vibe of the resort. The room! On each side of the bed, you’ll also find reading lights overhead, so if you want to stay up and read or do another activity, you don’t have to disturb everyone else in the room. Simply pull out the reading light and adjust it to your liking — it turns on when it’s pulled out! The in-bed reading lights Each standard room comes with a nightstand, which holds a phone and a Hey, Disney! device. This service works with Alexa on Amazon Echo devices to assist guests with room amenities, guest services, planning, weather information, and more! A pamphlet is given alongside the device to show guests how it works and what else it can do. Two outlets, a USB and a USB-C outlet, and the light switches are also found in this area. Hey, Disney! On either side of the bed, you can also find a small table to keep other things. So, if you’re sleeping four people in these two beds, each person can have a place to keep their items! There are also two outlets and a USB and USB-C outlet above the table. The side table These rooms also come with a TV and a dresser to keep all of your belongings in. The drawers themselves are quite spacious, and there’s even more room on top below the TV! The TV offers classic channels, like ABC and ESPN, but they also offer (my favorite) the Walt Disney World Resort TV Today, which is basically just a channel that shows the park hours, but it plays the BEST music! TV & Dresser The standard rooms at the BoardWalk also include a pullout couch to sleep a fifth person. Directions on how to unfold and refold the couch can be found on the side table. Pullout couch And on the pullout couch are the CUTEST decorative pillows with Mickey Mouse heads all over! I don’t know about you, but I’m going to need some of these pillows to decorate my home. These pillows are so cute! By the couch is a lamp with quite a magical detail! These are truly hidden Mickeys because when the lamp is OFF, you can’t see them, but turn the lamp on and the Mickey heads will appear! Turn the lamp on to find the Mickeys! When you thought there weren’t enough places to sit, these rooms even come with an extra chair in the corner! There’s another seat! Let’s take a closer look at that curtain behind the chair, shall we? On it, you’ll find silhouettes of some of Disney’s most iconic characters, like Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Pluto, Goofy, Donald Duck, and Daisy Duck! Look at the details on this curtain! And don’t think this curtain is the only thing with gorgeous artwork because there are plenty more pictures and murals throughout the room! Your room may include hanging portraits… Hanging portraits … pictures of beloved Disney characters ON the BoardWalk… Artwork in the BoardWalk’s standard rooms … and two of Disney’s most iconic couples in Swan Boats on Crescent Lake! The swan boats! But that’s not all — head over to the coffee area, and you’ll find a beautiful mural of Mickey and Minnie having a picnic in the grass area outside of the resort. How gorgeous is this mural?! The coffee area is a part of the closet space. The shelf above the coffee area has an ice bucket, which you can fill at the ice machine down the hall, and the drawer below is where you’ll find the coffee pods and cups for the Keurig. The closet and coffee area In the cabinet below the drawer with the coffee pods, you’ll find a beverage cooler. It’s important to note that this is NOT the same as a refrigerator, so it may not keep food or other things as cold. Beverage cooler Each of the closet doors has a full-length mirror. The door on the farthest left opens up to several shelves, including one with a safe and a blow dryer. Inside the closet The two doors in the middle are where you’ll find the hanging closet space with hangers for your clothes. There are also an extra pillow, an extra blanket, and a luggage rack inside this portion of the closet. Inside the closet Moving on to the bathroom area of the room, you’ll first find the sink, which is separated from the toilet and shower. A large mirror is on the wall in front of you, as well as another full-length mirror on the bathroom door. Sink area A smaller mirror is also available on the side wall. This mirror can be flipped for a closer view and lights up, so you’re able to see better while you’re doing makeup, your face wash routine, etc. The light switch can be found on the bottom of the mirror. The smaller mirror Several toiletries are available for use, as well, including bath soap, hand soap, and body lotion… The soaps and lotions … and a shower cap, vanity kit (cotton pads, cotton swabs, and a nail file), and mouthwash. Other toiletries Stepping inside the bathroom, you’ll find a toilet, a shower, and several towel racks with face cloths, hand towels, and body towels. BoardWalk Inn hotel room bathroom The shower doubles as a tub, so you can relax and reset however you’d like. There are also several shelves to keep your own toiletries on. Inside the shower Complimentary shampoo, conditioner, and body wash are located in the shower as well. Complimentary toiletries Plenty of towels are available in the towel rack over the toilet and on the side of the shower. This is also where an extra box of tissues can be found. And, as always, more towels are available upon request. The towel rack Depending on what floor you’re on, you’ll have either a balcony or a patio with chairs and tables. The patio And on the back of the door, you’ll find a peephole and an evacuation route in case there is ever an emergency and you need to find the closest exit. The back of the door Every room also comes with a “Do Not Disturb” sign, which indicates whether or not you’re in the room. If you have this on the outside of your door, housekeeping knows not to come in. Room Occupied Sign Dining Now that we’ve covered the room, it’s time to figure out where you can eat while you’re staying here. This is especially helpful if you don’t feel like trekking to a park or another resort — there are plenty of great options nearby, starting with The Cake Bake Shop Restaurant by Gwendolyn Rogers. This is one of the fancier restaurants at the resort, but it’s filled with yummy entrees and GLITTER! Cake Bake Shop Restaurant Right next door is the bakery location of this restaurant — the Cake Bake Shop Bakery. Step in here to try one of their amazing desserts, famous cake slices, or grab yourself a coffee! Boston Cream Pie Cake Not a fan of cake, but still want something sweet? Holiday weekends are normally much busier at each of the four parks already, but we didn’t think it was going to be “Lightning Lane Premier Passes sold out” busy! If you were planning on coming to Disney World this weekend, be aware that Lightning Lane Premier Pass is now sold out at all four Disney World parks! The passes are sold out for both Saturday, October 10th and Sunday, October 11th. First, Magic Kingdom and Disney’s Hollywood Studios sold out for the weekend, then EPCOT and Disney’s Animal Kingdom followed after them. EPCOT When looking at the calendar for purchasing Lightning Lane Premier Pass, this is the breakdown for dates that have no Premier Pass available for each park: Magic Kingdom: Sold out October 8th through October 11th. Hollywood Studios: Sold out October 8th through October 12th. EPCOT: Sold out October 9th through October 12th. Animal Kingdom: Sold out October 10th through October 12th. Animal Kingdom Disney World’s Lightning Lanes provide access to “Lightning Lanes” for rides so guests can bypass Standby lines for select attractions through an extra purchase made on the My Disney Experience app. Lightning Lane Premier Pass is a popular buy when the park is busier because it lets guests maximize their time and see as many attractions as possible in a day. 14. If you’ve ever been to the Orlando International Airport, then you’ll know it’s the most magical airport on Earth! You’ll find the only Magic of Disney store in the world, stocked with Disney merch in a space that gives MAJOR Disney Store vibes. And in Terminal C, the Walt Disney World Store has even MORE Disney souvenirs! There are some days where we’ve wished we could spend the whole day at MCO, and now we can, even without a flight! Orlando International Airport Orlando International Airport just relaunched the Experience MCO Visitor Pass Program, which allows the non-traveling public to visit MCO and enjoy amenities on the post-security side of the passenger terminals. Let’s dive into these major changes at MCO! With the Experience MCO Visitor Pass Program, non-flying airport visitors can go through security to shop, eat, or spend time with flying loved ones while they’re on the ground. You can enter the airport anytime between 6 AM and 6 PM, and guests must exit all terminals by 8 PM. MCO Airport Security If you want to participate in the program, here’s how: Apply online up to seven days in advance at experiencemco.flymco.com/mco. Your request will be reviewed by the Transportation Security Administration (TSA). You’ll receive an email with your approval status after midnight on the day of your visit. If approved for entry, you’ll receive your Experience MCO Visitor Pass attached to your approval email. Enter the TSA Checkpoint standard screening line and show your Experience MCO Visitor Pass attachment along with your TSA-approved photo identification (like a passport or REAL ID), like you would when flying. You’ll need to go through security as usual, so no liquids or prohibited items are allowed. Explore MCO! Orlando International Airport To transport all these new visitors, a brand-new Gate Link tram is now in service, moving travelers to and from Gates 100-129. This is the first of four scheduled tram replacements in MCO’s $253 million Gate Link Replacement Project. The second tram serving Gates 100-129 is currently being replaced. After that’s finished, trams for Gates 70-99 will see upgraded tracks, trams, and supporting systems. 15. Disney World is undergoing A LOT of changes right now, from new lands and hotels to refurbishing existing attractions and renovating guest rooms. Fans have certainly had their opinions on these changes — good and bad –, and some come even before the completion of these projects. This turns our attention to Disney’s Art of Animation Resort. Disney’s Art of Animation Resort Disney has announced that the resort will be renovating its rooms, and the uncertainty of what these rooms are going to look like has me, as well as other fans, holding our breath. Some fans are nervous that this latest hotel refurbishment may fall into the same “trap” as other recent similar projects. Namely, that Disney may take a heavily themed hotel environment and turn it into something generic. Earlier this year, Disney announced that the popular Art of Animation Resort would be undergoing a room renovation in 2027. At the time of the project’s announcement, Disney said the work would begin in the spring. The resort’s standard rooms and family suites will be transformed and modernized. While retaining the theme, the new Little Mermaid rooms will feature new under-the-sea prints and a Murphy bed — similar to the current layout of the rooms at Pop Century — along with a seashell bed and chairs. Furthermore, the company said that Imagineering and facilities are working together to maintain the feeling of stepping into a movie, which is obviously integral to rooms such as Cars and Toy Story. The resort will remain open throughout this refurbishment. ©Disney In the eyes of some Disney fans, many recent projects, including the recent Polynesian Resort’s Island Tower, have seen renovated rooms lose many of their unique elements, becoming too similar to standard hotel rooms as one would find at a Marriott. As one of our readers put it on social media, “Disney hotels are being watered down. If I’m paying the price to stay in the Disney bubble, I want to be drunk on whimsy and forget the outside world exists for a few days.” Polynesian Island Tower Villa To be fair, of course, others prefer the new style rooms, arguing that they seem up to date with modern hotel trends, which Disney will need to do to remain an industry leader. Villa dining area For a specific example, let’s look at the recently renovated Royal Rooms at the Port Orleans Resort – Riverside. The original iterations of these rooms were themed as a guest room where Princess Tiana welcomed her fellow Princesses to stay. The rooms were filled with references to other Disney Princesses. Cinderella’s carriage was the coat hook, the ottoman from Beast Castle, Aladdin’s Magic Carpet pattern in the carpet, and seashells and starfish elements representing Ariel, to name a few. The original Royal Rooms at Disney’s Port Orleans – Riverside The new take on the concept, introduced in 2026, retains a Princess and the Frog connection, but shifts the theme to be guest rooms of Princess Tiana and Prince Naveen, placing guests directly into the bayou. These new rooms are much lighter on the thematic elements, with an overall aesthetic of a functional 2020s hotel room, with lighter colors and replacing thematic pieces with “functional” furniture. The new Royal Guest Room at Port Orleans Riverside Perhaps the most emblematic element of these changes is the pair of interactive headboards above the beds. The previous version featured a vision of the bayou forest with LED effects that you could turn on to create the magical — and oh-so-Disney — touch of LED fireworks going off. A Royal Guest Room at Port Orleans Resort The new headboards feature images of animals in the bayou and two distinct lighting packages. There’s a daytime version, which illuminates the image from behind, almost giving the image of a daytime morning. The mural when off Then there’s the option to flip to a nighttime version. The lighting shifts to purple and blue hues, evoking the vibe of a magical night on the bayou. Once night mode is switched on, a flurry of flickering LED fireflies lights up. The fireflies! As far as our readers go, the rooms received similar mixed reactions. For example, one reader wrote, “I think they are definitely beautiful with a bit of elegance thrown in. So much brighter! I like them very much.” On the flip side, another wrote, “I think they are very pretty, but not special enough to pay extra for. I agree they need something more over the top for a Royal Room.” Royal Room Which brings us back to Art of Animation. A major part of the appeal of the Value Tier Resort — which opened back in the early 2010s — is just how “Disney” it is. Everything from the rooms… Art of Animation Finding Nemo Family Suite .. to the pools… The Big Blue Pool … to the food… I’m Nemo Cheesecake … to the overall icons and decor are fully immersed in Disney’s animated filmography. Scar at Art of Animation Due to that, Disney will likely have to walk a tightrope as they modernize the hotel’s rooms, since making them seem “too generic” could lead to even bigger backlash from fans than other projects like the aforementioned Port Orleans rooms. 17. Wait…did Dollywood just take an iconic Disney World souvenir and make it even BETTER?! Dollywood It’s no secret that we are massive Dollywood fans! After having been to the theme park a couple times, we haven’t been able to stop talking about it. Can you blame us? There is so much to love about the park! Speaking of, we need to tell you about a souvenir that Dollywood has that is just next level. Dollywood is known for its iconic Cinnamon Bread. In fact, we’ve claimed it’s the best $13 we’ve ever spent at a theme park. That’s how incredible a snack it is! Now, before you start asking why we’re telling you about a snack and not a souvenir, it’s because the souvenir is tied directly to the beloved snack. Cinnamon Bread Dollywood posted on social media that they’ve just released a Cinnamon Bread Bubble Wand! Hold on, we’re gonna say it one more time. A CINNAMON BREAD BUBBLE WAND! It’s got what looks like a loaf of Cinnamon Bread on top, and it has a cute face! ©Dollywood via Instagram The handle of the bubble wand features the Dollywood logo and is in a darker brown color. The bubbles themselves come out of the top of the Cinnamon Bread. Now hold on, because somehow it gets even better! ©Dollywood Instagram So this bubble wand has special bubbles! Unlike normal bubbles, these smell like cinnamon! Basically, what we’re telling you is this souvenir is both a walking bubble machine and a cinnamon bread aroma machine. As if we needed any more reason to go by that cinnamon bread. ©Dollywood via Instagram Dollywood wanted to point out in the post that these bubbles are NOT edible! So, we totally get if you’re tempted because of the smell, but DO NOT EAT THEM! If you want to get your hands on the bubble wand, the only way you can get it is by being in the park. You can’t get this online, unfortunately — at least not right now. CINNAMON BREAD! 19. Wait…do you smell that? Peppermint…gingerbread…sugar cookie…is there a new holiday Starbucks menu on the way? ©Starbucks Starbucks has officially announced the holiday beverages that make the season so special, and when they’ll be available. However, it looks like fans are pretty torn on the new menu. Some are excited to dive into the holiday flavors, while others are asking for more! Holiday drinks are just around the corner at Starbucks, with new drinks and returning items dropping on November 5th. Soon customers will be able to enjoy a handful of eats and drinks off the holiday menu, as well as collect some of the limited-time merchandise. ©Starbucks The holiday menu will see the return of some fan-favorite drinks including Peppermint Mocha, Caramel Brulée Latte, Sugar Cookie Latte, and Gingerbread Chai. New for the holidays this year is the Tiramisu Velvet lineup. The classic Italian dessert inspired the debut of the Tiramisu Velvet Latte (available hot or iced) and Tiramisu Velvet Cold Brew. Both drinks are topped with a velvet mascarpone cold foam and cocoa and coffee dusting. ©Starbucks Also new this year is the Apple Pomegranate Refresher, which features crisp apple flavors and popping pomegranate-flavored pearls. Customers can also enjoy the Snowy Apple version, which is made with coconut milk, and gives the drink a creamier twist. ©Starbucks The holiday food menu includes the new Bearista Cake Pop, which will be available for a limited time. You can also get the new Braised Short Rib Grilled Cheese and the Turkey & Stuffing Sandwich, featuring a new recipe. The Cranberry Bliss Bar, Snowman Cookie, and Sugar Plum Cheese Danish will also return to the holiday menu. ©Starbucks Starbucks also dropped a first look at the holiday merchandise collections. New collections will be available on November 5th, including the Holiday Bearista collection, which features Bearista-adorned drinkware, a plush keychain, and coordinated accessories. There’s also the Holiday Village collection, which celebrates Starbucks’ Seattle roots with festive keepsakes inspired by the original Pike Place store. Oh, and the Peppermint Mocha collection pairs “retro charm with modern design across cold cups, tumblers, espresso cups.” ©Starbucks Starbucks also teased the Winter Wonderland collection, which launches on November 17th. It features cool-toned drinkware with “whimsical details and wintry textures.” ©Starbucks Of course, with the menu announcement, all of the Starby’s fans (us included) gathered together to drop their thoughts in the comments on social media. Some are very excited about the new menu, seeing comments like “I’ll take 3 of each please” and “YESSS I CANT WAITTTTT”. The new tiramisu lineup is getting people excited as well — “I’m screaming at the tiramisu velvet latte. i need it rn,” said another fan. Starbucks That being said, we also noticed a lot of people are conflicted about the holiday menu and are BEGGING for the Chestnut Praline to return! On Instagram, one person said, “Pushing out Chestnut Praline to ‘make room’ for new flavors just shows whoever is making decisions over there cares a bit too much about chasing business instead of humbly growing their loyal community of consumers. Business is important, but if you lack that special charm and CARE for your customers, they will no longer care about your business.” Chestnut Praline Coffee We also saw someone say, “Starbucks, while customers appreciate the innovative ideas, you’re losing your base by not listening. Chestnut Praline is a classic. Not having it during this season of cheer is a missed (revenue) opportunity. Bring it back.” While another said, “PETITION TO BRING BACK CHESTNUT PRALINE!!! Give a and maybe starbs [sic] will see its importance to the menu and be kind to us loyal, hard-working, and deserving customers this Christmas season ”. Starbucks in EPCOT We’re not kidding when we say people were BEGGING for the Chestnut Praline to return. If you don’t believe us, check out the comments on Starbucks’ Instagram post for yourself! 22. Epic Universe’s Stardust Racers is hitting the headlines…again. Stardust Racers Universal Orlando Resort is getting sued over Stardust Racers after a child allegedly suffered injuries after riding the popular Epic Universe attraction. We have all the latest news for you right there, so let’s take a look. According to the Orlando Sentinel, a mother is accusing the Universal Orlando Resort of “negligence after her 9-year-old son suffered permanent injuries while riding the popular Stardust Racers roller coaster at the Epic Universe theme park.” She argued that Universal failed to “add improved safety features to Stardust Racers” after the tragic death of Kevin Rodriguez Zavala after riding the coaster last year. Universal alleges that the mother was negligent for not using “reasonable care for her son’s safety.” Stardust Racers “It’s appalling that a company creates a ride that has a vast history of injuries … and a death … and then they go and blame a parent for allowing their child to enjoy a ride that was marketed to whoever meets the requirements of that ride,” said Orlando-based attorney for Jennifer Lundy (the mother), Nicholas Spetsas. Stardust Racers Lundy sued Universal Orlando on August 17th in Orange County Circuit Court, and the case was transferred to federal court the next month. Mack Rides, a German-based company that designed and manufactured Stardust Racers, is a co-defendant in the suit. The lawsuit states, “Lundy’s son rode the coaster with his father on Oct. 13, 2025, but lost consciousness due to the forces generated by the attraction, causing his head and face to be thrown against the hard surfaces of the ride vehicle.” Nicholas Spetsas added that “the boy’s parents took him to seek treatment with the theme park’s health services personnel before later taking him to a hospital.” Stardust Racers The suit also noted that the young boy suffered lifelong injuries, and that he has been unable to physically attend school since the incident on Stardust Racers. The boy is undergoing physical therapy to learn how to walk properly again and suffers from chronic back pain. The suit says “he suffered head, neck, spinal and neurological injuries.” Stardust Racers Lundy is seeking over $75,000 in damages to “pay for her son’s past and continued medical treatment.” The suit argues he suffered “disability, disfigurement … loss of capacity for the enjoyment of life in the past and future … and loss of the ability to earn money in the future.” Epic Universe Universal responded to Lundy’s claims, saying she “knowingly and voluntarily assumed the risks associated with her son riding a thrill ride, including the potential for significant acceleration and deceleration and head and body movements associated with such attractions.” Universal also said, “she failed to ensure her son followed posted warnings and instructions for the attraction, and that also caused or contributed to his alleged injuries, the suit said.” Epic Universe We’ll be keeping an eye on this story to see how it unfolds. 24. Disney World vacations are already expensive as it is, but some things are TOTALLY worth spending more on during my trip. Am I in my 20s and have $5 to my name? Yes. But I am splurging on these six things every time? Absolutely. HOKA Clifton 10s Some you can simply buy before your trip, while others you’ll have to pay for. Let’s go through the six things everyone should splurge on during their Disney World vacation. DISCLOSURE: This post may contain affiliate links, meaning when you click the links and make a purchase, we receive a commission. A Good Pair Of Shoes Is A MUST! Hoka Clifton 10 Sneakers After HOURS and MILES of testing, HOKAs have definitely come out as one of the strongest contenders, specifically the HOKA Women’s Clifton 10s! They’re comfortable, supportive, and durable, so they’re sure to last you a long time! The heel may look chunky, but don’t let that steer you away — they’re actually extremely lightweight, so much that you don’t even feel them on your feet! As someone with plantar fasciitis who has tested out several pairs of shoes, HOKAs are definitely taking that #1 spot! view ON AMAZON Brooks Are Another Great Option! We LOVE Brooks shoes! The Brooks Ghost 17s have also held up during our long Disney days, and if you don’t find me in HOKAs, you’ll definitely find me in Brooks. This shoe features a blend of soft and dynamic cushioning that offers comfort with each step. There is also a comfy grip around the toe and front of the shoe that hugs your foot for stability, but doesn’t squeeze too tightly. Anyone looking for a well-fitting, comfortable shoe that supports long walks will love these! view ON AMAZON Why Hire A Masseuse When You Can Get These? ©Amazon We won’t lie to you when we say your legs will HURT after a full day of walking around Disney World. There are a few options to help you recover, like Epsom salt baths, icing, and foot masks, but maybe the most effective are Leg Compression and Heat Massagers. This four-zone leg massager uses sequential air compression rather than rollers and vibration to gently wrap and squeeze the feet, calves, and thighs in a smooth upward rhythm. Rather than focusing on one area at a time, the air chambers inflate and release section by section to create a more even, full-leg compression experience. This massager features six massage modes and nine intensity levels, so you can adjust it to your comfort level. view ON AMAZON Lightning Lanes Whether you’re purchasing Lightning Lane Single Pass, Lightning Lane Multi Pass, or Lightning Lane Premier Pass, these services will make your vacation much easier and more enjoyable! No need to worry about wait times — simply book a time slot and scan in when it’s your turn! Guests staying at a Disney World resort can begin booking seven days before the start of their vacation, while non-resort guests can begin booking three days before. When it comes to Lightning Lane Multi Pass, you can hold up to three attractions at a time. This is something I splurge on EVERY. SINGLE. VACATION. Stay At A Resort With A Kitchen You’ll most likely be eating A LOT of food during your Disney World vacation since there are so many amazing snacks to try! But where do you put your leftovers when you get back to your hotel? If you’re staying in a standard guest room, the answer to that question is the trash, since there are no refrigerators. Yes, there are beverage coolers, but those don’t stay cold enough to keep food fresh. That’s the plus of staying in a studio or a villa — those rooms include fridges! Polynesian Village Resort Studio Rooms with kitchens also make it easier on families with little kids, especially if your kiddos are picky with what they eat. Yes, you’ll be spending a bit more money on a studio or a villa, but bringing your own food can also save you a lot of money since Disney meals can get expensive! Old Key West Resort Studio Room “How does one get food to their resort?” you may ask. Well, there’s a little something called Amazon Fresh! Amazon Fresh offers groceries, perishable and non-perishable, straight to your resort! Simply order it for same-day delivery or up to three days in advance! They will drop them off to Bell Services at your resort, and you’ll pick them up from there! There is a $9.95 fee for orders under $50, a $6.95 on orders between $50 and $99, and FREE for orders over $100! ©Amazon Preferred Rooms At The Bigger Resorts Not all resorts’ rooms are located in one building — there are actually quite a few that have multiple buildings for their guest room, and some so big that they have an internal bus system to bring you around! For those resorts, like Saratoga Springs Resort, Coronado Springs Resort, Pop Century Resort, etc., book a preferred room! These rooms are closer to all of the major amenities, like transportation, dining, shopping, and more! Pop Century Resort Now, go splurge! We’re always on the hunt for the latest and greatest Disney souvenirs and essentials, so don’t forget to stay tuned to the Disney Food Blog for more! View the full article
  25. If you’ve been a Disney fan living on the internet, you know that lies get spread SO easily! Magic Kingdom One incorrect or satirical social media post goes viral, and suddenly everyone’s thinking that there’s a weather dome over the parks or Walt Disney’s head is frozen underneath Cinderella Castle. That’s why we’re here — to bust up those rumors and break down the facts. Let’s chat about some of the Disney rumors swirling around this week! Disneyland Oklahoma…? FAKE Was Disneyland Oklahoma ever a real thing? This question has been trending the past few days, and it’s time that we break it down. The short answer? No. There never was a Disneyland in Oklahoma. So why is this a topic of conversation? Disneyland entrance Well, ABC KOCO News 5 reports that a few years ago, someone posted a “screenshot” on X of a fake Disneyland (Oklahoma) Wikipedia page. The screenshot, which was a fabrication, claimed that someone in Oklahoma renamed their theme park Disneyland after it was discovered that the original patent for Disneyland had a misspelling. Of course, none of this is true, and Disneyland has only ever been attributed to The Walt Disney Company. Big rumors like this can sometimes resurface, which is exactly what we saw this week as it was trending in Google searches! Disneyland Is OFFICIALLY Removing Its No-Show Policy Is Disney Buying Epic Games? FAKE (For Now) Over the years, there have been quite a few acquisitions of companies and IPs on Disney’s end, and the business is ever-expanding. Recently, rumors have been swirling that Disney was planning to purchase Epic Games, the developer behind Fortnite. During an interview at Bloomberg Screentime 2026, Disney’s Chief Creative Officer Dana Walden addressed the subject. Smugglers Gambit Walden was asked if the company was considering buying Epic Games, and she shared that there were previous conversations about an investment and an equity stake, but those are not the conversations that the company is having right now. She went on to say, “We have a great partnership and a number of launches coming up over the next two years that are going to demonstrate the value of this partnership.” Dana Walden, President of The Walt Disney Company, Calls Recent Layoffs “Extremely Painful” Maleficent Coaster Details! TBD Back at D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event in August, Disney revealed new details about the roller coaster coming to Villains Land in Magic Kingdom. It was shared that this new coaster will be themed to Maleficent, and it will feature elements that Disney has never done before. ©Disney Well, naturally, fans have been speculating about this mysterious new ride and what the “new” element will be. Fans have theorized that the ride will be a drop coaster, similar to Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure at Universal Orlando. Disney hasn’t confirmed or denied this theory, so we’ll just have to wait and see. ©Disney We also recently broke down what the OTHER Villains Land ride could look like, and you can check that out below. Is This What the NEW Disney Villains Land Dark Ride Will Be Like? Someone Jumped in the Water at Gran Fiesta Tour? Unfortunately…that’s REAL Recently, posts started coming out on social media that showed a video of what appears to be a man diving into the water on the Gran Fiesta Tour Starring the Three Caballeros. In a world where everyone gets real life and AI videos confused, people were questioning if this happened. Gran Fiesta Tour Unfortunately, this was a REAL story, and you can see the video below, which was posted by Michelin-starred Chef Michael Collantes. A representative for Walt Disney World Resort said in a statement to PEOPLE, “This behavior was unsafe and a clear violation of our park rules. The guest and his party were trespassed.” On This Episode of “We Can’t Have Nice Things” in Disney World… We’ll be looking out for any more rumors that are swirling around, and we’ll keep you in the loop as we get information. 26. Disney World rides run all day, every day, for 12 hours straight, so it takes a lot of work to keep things in tip-top shape, which means some rides will have to close for maintenance. It’s never fun to get to a Disney park and realize your favorite ride closed, which is why we always keep an eye on the refurbishment calendar to prep for closures on our and your upcoming trips! Cinderella Castle in Magic Kingdom Disney recently announced that a super popular Magic Kingdom ride is closing for refurbishment this November, and now we know when the ride will reopen, too! Tiana’s Bayou Adventure will close for refurbishment on Monday, November 2nd, according to the Disney World refurbishment calendar. The Disney World website now states that it will reopen on Friday, December 18th, 2026. Tiana’s Bayou Adventure! Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is a thrilling water ride featuring Princess Tiana, Prince Naveen, and more beloved characters from The Princess and the Frog. It opened in Magic Kingdom on June 28th, 2024, making it over two years old. This is the ride’s first major refurbishment, and while Disney hasn’t shared any details about what the closure is for, it’s likely for general maintenance. The ride has struggled with animatronics mishaps since it opened, so this closure could address some of these issues. Tiana’s Bayou Adventure In addition to Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, Tiana’s Bayou General will also close on November 2nd. Located at the ride exit, you can purchase your ride photos and some Princess Tiana merchandise. The store could reopen with the ride, but no official reopening date has been announced yet. Tiana’s Bayou General Critter Co-Op will remain open during this closure, which offers similar Princess and the Frog merchandise along with other general Disney souvenirs. This store is located before the queue entrance to Tiana’s Bayou Adventure near the bridge. Critter Co-Op We’ll be sure to keep you updated on more Disney World ride refurbishments you need to know about. In the meantime, stay tuned to Disney Food Blog for the latest Disney World news! 27. Celebrities…they’re just like us! Sometimes we forget that well-known celebrities are also big fans of Disney films! ©HBO You know how you have those films that you can recite easily because you’ve seen them so many times? Well, so do they! During a recent interview while on her press tour for Warner Brothers’ Practical Magic 2, Maisie Williams, best known for playing Arya Stark in the hit TV show Game of Thrones, revealed that she can recite the entirety of Disney’s film Inside Out completely by memory, and it’s hilarious — you’ve gotta see this! In an interview with Cosmopolitan with her co-star Joey King, Maisie Williams revealed that the film she can recite word-for-word is none other than Inside Out! ©HBO She went on to tell a story, saying that on a recent night, she hadn’t been able to sleep. She didn’t want to turn the movie on and have all the blue light in her eyes so close to trying to go to sleep, so instead she watched the movie in her head. When she’d accidentally skip forward in the story, she’d go, “Wait, wait, wait, go back!” Check out the full interview clip here: This is pretty common among Disney fans, or especially those who consider themselves Disney Adults, like we do! When we’re in the parks, not only do we find ourselves reciting facts to our friends about what we’re walking past, like how the shutters in Liberty Square in Magic Kingdom are supposed to all be uneven to make them time period appropriate, or we mention all the old attractions that used to be in EPCOT (and complain about how nothing is being done with the PLAY! Pavilion). Hall of Presidents in Liberty Square We often have to stop ourselves from reciting parts of ride pre-shows too loudly, especially at our favorites like Haunted Mansion, Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, and Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway. While it’s fun for us, we remember that not everyone in the room with us has been on the ride before, so we usually just settle for mouthing along so we can have our fun without disturbing others. In fact, this is part of the suspected reason that Disney just changed the pre-show in Cosmic Rewind! Previously, Terry Crews asked someone off camera, “Does anyone know what they call themselves?” and sometimes, people would shout inappropriate things. However, Disney has just changed the pre-show so that the gap to allow for an answer no longer exists. 28. Today, Gerardo “Jerry” Quijada Gonzalez leads one of the most iconic table-service dining locations at Walt Disney World Resort as Chef de Cuisine at Be Our Guest Restaurant in Magic Kingdom park. But more than two decades ago, his Disney story began at EPCOT, where he participated in the International College Program at the Mexico Pavilion. “I fell in love with the company, the vision and everything Disney stood for,” Chef Jerry said. That experience left a lasting impression and planted a dream that would guide the rest of his career. After returning to Mexico, Chef Jerry completed college and built a successful career in the culinary industry. Still, he never let go of the idea of coming back to Disney. When an opportunity to return to Central Florida finally came, Chef Jerry and his family made a significant sacrifice to pursue that dream. They left behind an established career, packed up their lives, and moved with little more than four suitcases and the belief that the opportunity would be worth it. In 2016, after years of perseverance and dozens of applications, Chef Jerry officially joined Disney Culinary as a sous chef. “I’m here because of my wife, my kids, my leaders, and my cast,” Chef Jerry said. “This is not a one-person journey.” Years later, that leap of faith continues to shape the way Chef Jerry leads. Since joining Disney Culinary, he has worked across multiple locations throughout Walt Disney World, helped open new dining experiences and steadily advanced through the culinary leadership ranks. Today, his passion extends beyond creating menus to developing the cast members who bring those dining experiences to life. “Creating the menu is the easy part,” he said. “Having the cast believe in what they do and why they do it — that’s the challenging part. The best dining experiences come from teams that feel connected to their work and empowered to bring their unique perspectives to the table.” Growing up in Mexico, Chef Jerry explained, food was never just a meal. It was a way to celebrate, teach, connect, and care for one another. Family recipes carried stories from one generation to the next. Meals brought loved ones together around a shared table. His biggest influence, however, has been his mother. Chef Jerry credits her with teaching him how to cook and inspiring his love of food from an early age. She also showed him that food is about more than what is on the plate — it is about family, culture, honoring the people who helped shape you, and creating connections that bring people together. Those values continue to guide Chef Jerry’s approach to leadership and culinary creativity today. He regularly involves his team in the development process, encouraging them to share techniques, traditions and ideas that reflect their own backgrounds and experiences. “With my team, I want them involved,” Chef Jerry said. “What do you think? What does it need? That’s how they grow.” From the lessons he learned in his mother’s kitchen to the cast members he mentors today, Chef Jerry knows the journey was never his alone. And now through every dish, every conversation and every guest experience he proves that a dream carried across borders can become something even bigger when it is shared with others.
