  4. There is a very specific point during a Disney World trip when your cute park bag stops being an accessory and starts becoming equipment. It usually happens somewhere around mile seven. Loungefly Wall By then, your Loungefly has been through rope drop, three Lightning Lanes, a snack emergency, Florida humidity, and at least one moment when you shoved a half-empty bottle of sunscreen inside and hoped for the best. And you’ve still got several hours to go. DISCLOSURE: This post may contain affiliate links, meaning when you click the links and make a purchase, we receive a commission. That’s why we pay attention when certain Disney Loungefly backpacks keep showing up among Amazon’s best sellers. Yes, they’re cute. That part is practically a job requirement. But these are also bags we can see ourselves carrying through a full Disney park day without regretting the decision by lunchtime. And right now, Amazon has several VERY good options, including one that’s on sale. Disney Haunted Mansion Stretching Room Portraits Mini Backpack There are Disney bags, and then there are Disney bags that quietly announce, “Yes, I know exactly what happens when there are no windows and no doors.” The Disney Haunted Mansion Stretching Room Portraits Mini Backpack falls firmly into the second category. ©Amazon This bag features the famous Stretching Room portraits from Haunted Mansion, which makes it one of those pieces of Disney merch that feels a little more interesting than another giant character face plastered across your back. Disney fans know it immediately. Everyone else just sees a cool, slightly spooky bag. If your Disney World outfit leans more Haunted Mansion wallpaper than matching family T-shirt, this is the Loungefly we’d grab. view ON AMAZON Loungefly Disney Princess Books Classics Happily Ever After Mini Backpack Now THIS is the bag we’d recommend to someone who wants one Loungefly that can work with almost everything. The Loungefly Disney Princess Books Classics Happily Ever After Mini Backpack has a retro storybook design inspired by classic Disney Princess movies. It feels nostalgic without locking you into one character, one park, or even one particularly elaborate Disney outfit. ©Amazon We like this one because the vintage colors make it easier to coordinate than some of the brighter character bags. You could carry it through Magic Kingdom one day, EPCOT the next, and Hollywood Studios after that without feeling like your bag wandered in from somebody else’s outfit. view ON AMAZON Loungefly Disney Stained Glass Rapunzel Mini Backpack Stained-glass Disney merchandise has been having a MOMENT, and this Amazon-exclusive Rapunzel bag understands the assignment. The Loungefly Disney Stained Glass Rapunzel Mini Backpack takes the look in a more elegant direction than your average character backpack. The stained-glass-inspired artwork gives it plenty of color and detail, but the overall effect feels more like a statement accessory than something you bought five minutes after riding a Fantasyland attraction. ©Amazon This is the bag we’d choose if the Loungefly IS the outfit. Pair it with a simple dress, shorts and a tank, or your favorite park basics and let the backpack do all the work. That’s helpful on a Disney vacation when you’ve already spent enough brainpower deciding which park you’re rope dropping, which Lightning Lanes you’re booking, and where you’re getting lunch. view ON AMAZON Loungefly Disney Stained Glass Rapunzel Ears And then, of course, there are matching ears. The Loungefly Disney Stained Glass Rapunzel Ears coordinate with the backpack, so you can build an entire Disney park outfit around the same stained-glass design. ©Amazon This is exactly the kind of matching set we like because it does most of the styling for you. Put the bag and ears together, keep the rest of your outfit simple, and it looks like you planned the whole thing instead of getting dressed while simultaneously checking the My Disney Experience app. view ON AMAZON HOYOFO Mini Backpack Organizer Insert And now for the least glamorous item on this list and possibly the one you’ll appreciate most around mile nine. Get an organizer for your Loungefly. Mini backpacks have one major flaw. Without some kind of organization, they can quickly become a tiny fabric cave containing three receipts, a melted lip balm, one rogue earbud, and the portable charger you KNOW is in there somewhere. HOYOFO Mini Backpack Organizer The HOYOFO Mini Backpack Organizer Insert adds compartments inside your bag so your smaller essentials have somewhere to live. You’re constantly reaching for your wallet, sunglasses, sunscreen, charger, medication, hand sanitizer, or whatever else you’ve packed for the day. Being able to grab something without unloading your entire Loungefly onto a table at Pecos Bill is worth more than it sounds. HOYOFO Mini Backpack Organizer It also makes switching between Loungeflys easier. Instead of transferring twelve individual items from one bag to another, move the organizer and get going. view ON AMAZON There’s a reason certain Loungefly backpacks keep becoming Disney park staples. They’re small enough that you aren’t lugging a giant backpack through Fantasyland, but roomy enough for the things you actually need during a full park day. 5. Well, Disney just made it through, arguably, their hardest week of the year. AKA, the week where they jack up the prices on practically everything in Disney World, we all complain about it, and then the vast majority of us decide the magic is worth it and keep paying said prices as our wallets sob in despair. Hollywood Studios This year, though, Disney really doubled down on distracting all of us from the price increases by dropping TONS of news and updates. Did it work? Well, our team was certainly busy keeping up with it all, but we’ll let you make the final call on how successfully they distracted you. This past week, we saw numerous new booths open up at the EPCOT Food & Wine Festival, which was a pretty successful distraction at the start of the week, but that was before price increases dropped. The Diamond Horseshoe also officially opened in its new pop-up restaurant format, bookings opened up for Disney’s Lakeshore Lodge, and we saw an entire new store open up in Disney Springs. The changes don’t stop there, either. Let’s take a look at what you need to expect in terms of closures and ongoing construction in Disney World from October 9th through October 16th. Magic Kingdom Walt Disney World Railroad The Walt Disney World Railroad temporarily closed on September 28th for reasons that Disney hasn’t released. Fortunately, the closure isn’t expected to last long. The Walt Disney World Railroad Disney has listed that the train should reopen on October 30th, so we’ll only have to go without it for about a month. When it reopens, though, a reminder that it’ll only be running from Main Street to Fantasyland and back, as the Frontierland station is closed due to construction happening in Villains Land and Piston Peak. Carousel of Progress Carousel of Progress closed on July 6th to undergo a major refurbishment. The work will include completely revamping the scenes in the attraction to make them more modern and represent more recent parts of history, as well as adding a new Walt Disney animatronic at the opening. ©Disney Currently, the attraction is set to reopen in 2027, though no official date has been set yet. Liberty Square Riverboat and Tom Sawyer Island An iconic part of the Magic Kingdom is now permanently closed. As of July 7th, 2025, the Rivers of America, including the Liberty Square Riverboat and Tom Sawyer Island, are permanently closed to make way for the new Cars area, Piston Peak. There are lots of construction walls up in the area now, and the structures on Tom Sawyer Island have been demolished. Most recently, we saw some pretty great updates to the progress on the site! via @bioreconstruct on X/Twitter Piston Peak National Park will be replacing this area of the Magic Kingdom. Disney has not yet announced an opening date for the new Cars area, but we do know it will feature two brand-new attractions and be themed to look like a National Park. Disney World Files NEW Permits for Park Entrance Updates Disney’s Hollywood Studios Muppets Courtyard Muppet*Vision 3D and PizzeRizzo closed on June 8th, 2025, and Muppets Courtyard has been walled off for construction on the new Monsters, Inc. land. Mama Melrose’s Ristorante Italiano has been closed since May 11th, 2025. Most recently, Disney released new information about Monstropolis, saying that “Monstropolis — the monster city now powered by laughter — is getting ready to give humans a glimpse of what’s been hidden from their world for generations. Which raises an interesting question: if humans were never meant to enter the monster world … why are the doors finally opening to us?” ©bioreconstruct We’ll get to explore their world during H.U.M.A.N. Day, or “Humans Understand Monsters Are Nice” Day, with Disney continuing to say, “Human guests will have the chance to explore the city, meet its citizens, taste unique cuisine, and step into the everyday world of monsters in a totally new way. For the first time, two worlds once separated are meeting face to scaly, furry, and fang-filled face – brought together not by screams, but by laughter.” ©Disney It’s also been fully confirmed that Harryhausen’s will be one of the restaurants in the new land, in addition to Archie’s Square Pig Pizza. Most recently, we got a look at some of the new food coming to the land, and we’ve gotta say, we’re pretty excited! ©Disney If you’re missing The Muppets, you can go visit them at Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets right now! NEWS: Rise of the Resistance Added to Extended Evening Hours at Hollywood Studios EPCOT Coral Reef Restaurant Coral Reef, one of the most controversial restaurants in all of Disney World, closed for refurbishment on September 8th. Coral Reef Restaurant The Disney World website recently adjusted to allow guests to begin booking reservations again on November 4th and beyond, which we’re now considering the reopening date, unless Disney tells us differently. La Signature La Signature, one of the stores located in the France Pavilion, closed for refurbishment on June 30th. La Signature closed The store specializes in French cosmetics and fragrances from Guerlain. During the closure, if you’re looking to buy Guerlain products, they’ll be temporarily available at the nearby Plume Et Palette. Sections of Germany Pavilion On July 13th, both the guest bathrooms in the Germany Pavilion and the majority of the Volkskunst store in EPCOT’s Germany Pavilion closed for refurbishment. The roof of Das Kaufhaus is also under refurbishment. Totally closed While a Cast Member did tell us the store closure was to fix the Cast Member bathrooms out of sight, Disney has not revealed a reopening date for the store or the public bathrooms. Other parts of the pavilion are also seeing construction and refurbishment, but are not causing additional closures. 6 Changes Coming to EPCOT Next Month Disney’s Animal Kingdom DinoLand, USA On February 2nd, DinoLand, USA, officially closed to make way for the new Tropical Americas land, Pueblo Esperanza. Most recently, we noticed that large cranes are in the area to adjust the roofs of existing buildings, likely to keep them in theme. Tropical Americas construction We can also see lots of work happening at the front of the new Indiana Jones ride, Indiana Jones and the Myth of the Jade Serpent! Recently, we got an updated look at the new Indiana Jones ride, which looks like it’s coming along well! Via @bioreconstruct on Twitter/X This new land will have three new rides: El Carrusel de los Animalitos featuring classic Disney animals, Indiana Jones and the Myth of the Jade Serpent where you’ll explore a Mayan temple, and Antonio’s Fiesta de Encanto that invites you into the Madrigals’ home. We can’t wait to continue to see how it all shapes up. BREAKING NEWS: Nomad Lounge Churros Added to Mobile Order at Disney World Disney World Hotels Disney’s Port Orleans — French Quarter Scat Cat’s Club and Lounge at Disney’s Port Orleans — French Quarter officially closed for refurbishment on October 6th. Don’t worry, you can still grab the iconic beignets next door at Sassagoula Floatworks & Food Factory Mickey Beignets at Disney’s Port Orleans Resort Additionally, to make up for the lack of drinks at the lounge, a temporary bar will be available near the cafe from 5 PM to 11 PM each night. When it comes to reopening, the cafe is set to be closed till December and the Lounge until January, though Disney hasn’t released official dates. All-Star Sports Resort Disney quietly announced that Grandstand Spirits Pool Bar is closing for a refurbishment. It closed on September 18th and is expected to last through mid-December 2026. Grandstand Spirits During the closure, we recommend you swing by End Zone Food Court, just a short walk away from the pool, to snag your eats and drinks. Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge There are numerous closures taking place around Animal Kingdom Lodge over the next few months that may affect your vacation. The Savanna at Animal Kingdom Lodge August 17th through October 9th: The main lobby and primary entrance will be closed. Check-in will move to the Palace Library during this time. September 28th through October 9th: The north side lobby corridor will be closed. During this time, the north side lobby elevators on the second floor and the outdoor terrace observation deck will be unavailable. October 26th through November 6th: The south side lobby corridor will be closed. During this time, Community Hall, Safari So Good Arcade, the laundry room, the Palace Library, lobby restrooms, and the outdoor terrace observation deck will be unavailable. Convention Center and El Centro Corridor — Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort Beginning on August 10th, the Convention Center at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort began a planned refurbishment that is expected to last through September 2027. Coronado Springs Additionally, the hotel’s El Centro Corridor and surrounding areas will also undergo refurbishment tied to the convention center refurbishment. While there’s no end date for this construction project, we do know that work will be completed in phases, with certain spaces being temporarily inaccessible at times. Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa This hotel has been undergoing refurbishments for quite some time now, but some sections of the hotel — specifically the porte cochere — will continue to undergo refurbishment through at least early 2027. Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort We certainly hope it’ll actually reopen on this timeline — we’re a little tired of seeing construction all over this beautiful hotel! Bay Lake Tower at Disney’s Contemporary Resort Currently, work is taking place all over Bay Lake Tower through Late 2027. Bay Lake Tower While currently no major closures are taking place due to this construction, it’s important to note that you may see or hear construction during your stay. Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort The tennis courts at Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort are currently closed for refurbishment. Saratoga Springs While Disney hasn’t shared an exact reopening date, the current timeline is that they’ll be closed from late August through November 2026. Disney’s BoardWalk Inn and Resort The Promenade Fine Art Gallery closed its Disney’s Boardwalk location on October 20th, 2025. However, the Promenade Fine Art Gallery isn’t closing for good, and it will just be moving to a new location. Promenade Fine Art Gallery Disney filed permits for the Boardwalk titled “Project Amazon” and “Project Bubbles” earlier this year, and now that we have a bit more information on them, we’re thinking that this currently vacant spot could soon become the home of the new Basin on the Boardwalk store on its way! The shop will be rooted in the resort’s classic boardwalk heritage and will offer a sensory shopping experience that is described as “both timeless and distinctly new.” Disney World Hotel Restaurants Suffer HUNDREDS of Price Increases We’ll be sure to keep you updated on all the latest Disney World news, so stay tuned to DFB! 8. These are the Disney World packing hacks that have earned our official stamp of approval! Cinderella Castle From trying to fit oneeee more thing into our already overstuffed suitcase to keeping all of our (obviously) must-have park accessories organized, we’ve tested countless packing hacks for our Disney World trips over the years. But which hacks rise to the top of the pack? Let’s take a look! DISCLOSURE: This post may contain affiliate links, meaning when you click the links and make a purchase, we receive a commission. These are the packing hacks we share with our friends and family when they’re prepping for their Disney World trips! Pack a Bathing Suit in Your Carry-On Bag This popular cruise packing tip can come in handy at Disney World too! As frequent cruisers may know, it’s often suggested to pack a bathing suit in your carry-on so you can head to the pool as soon as you board, since your luggage may take a while to arrive. And you can use the same logic when visiting Disney World! Big Blue Pool at Art of Animation Your room might not be ready right when you arrive at Disney World, especially if you have an early flight. But if you keep a bathing suit in your carry-on bag, you can have easy access to it so you can head to the pool while you wait and still get a start on your vacation fun. You can even find a Disney-themed carry-on bag to help build the excitement! ©Amazon Plus, if you plan to head to one of the Disney World water parks on your arrival day, this tip will be even more helpful so you don’t have to dig through your luggage to find what you need! View on Amazon Use Your Shoes for Extra Packing Space One thing we’ve learned the hard way from countless packing experiences — no matter how hard we try, we can never get our shoes to squish down and give us more space. Instead of fighting against physics, we use all that space inside our shoes for good and fill our shoes with socks, deodorant, or whatever other small items we can fit inside! Fill Your Shoes with Small Items for Extra Packing Space! Our go-to shoes for Disney World are the Hoka Clifton 10s, which give us plenty of support while still feeling lightweight and comfortable for all-day wear. And you can bet that when they make their way into our suitcase, they’re stuffed with socks and other odds and ends! HOKA shoes in Disney World This is also a helpful tip to keep in mind if you need a bit more space coming back, thanks to all the souvenirs you collected! Shoes are prime real estate for slipping things like magnets, keychains, pins, and other small items. View on Amazon Packing Cubes Can Help Organize AND Save Space When we’re headed for a longer trip, we use Compression Packing Cubes to help us get the most out of every inch of space in our suitcase! Some compression cubes need a vacuum to suck out the air, but since we definitely aren’t packing a vacuum with us, we prefer this set, which works with just a zipper, so we can repack them throughout our trip as needed. ©Amazon And here’s a little bonus tip for packing cubes — if you get a transparent set like this, you can also put a Post-it Note INSIDE each cube with a list of what items are in each one so you don’t have to unpack everything to find what you’re looking for! We’ve tried putting notes on the outside of cubes before, but found that they usually came unstuck and got mixed up, so this hack solved that dilemma perfectly. View on Amazon Buy a (Sturdy) Disposable Water Bottle at the Airport Whether you’re trying hard to pack extra light, you don’t want to risk losing your favorite water bottle from home, or you just forgot to pack one, we know a refillable water bottle sometimes doesn’t make the cut on the packing list. Since a refillable water bottle is still a must for us in the parks, when there’s a time that we either intentionally or accidentally didn’t pack one, we pick up a disposable water bottle at the airport (AFTER security) from a brand with sturdy bottles like PATH, Fiji, or Evian. Evian Water Instead of buying new bottles throughout the trip, we hang on to the same bottle from the airport and refill it throughout our vacation. Then, when we’re on our way back home, we can recycle the bottle and have one less thing to carry on the return trip! From staying organized to getting the most out of alllll of the space in our luggage, these are the packing hacks we use when prepping for our Disney World vacations. We’ll report back with more of our favorite Disney tips, so stay tuned to DFB for the latest updates! View the full article
  9. Every year, as the temperatures drop, flu season ramps up. This also happens to be the time that millions flock to Disney World. Sadly, the Disney bubble doesn’t protect you from getting sick! Main Street, U.S.A. Germs and Disney World seem like they would go hand and hand. With that many visitors packed into the parks coming from all over the world, the chances of you going back home with more than just new Disney souvenirs might be higher than guests think. But there are things you can do to keep yourself healthy during your Disney vacation. DISCLOSURE: This post may contain affiliate links, meaning when you click the links and make a purchase, we receive a commission. 1. Wash Your Hands, Don’t Just Use Hand Sanitizer Hand sanitizer is convenient, but it’s no substitute for good old-fashioned handwashing. Especially during flu season, you need to wash your hands with soap and water frequently. You’ll want to think before meals, after bathroom visits, and any time you’ve touched high-contact surfaces. It also helps if you wash your hands on every bathroom break, even if you aren’t the one in the group who is stopping to go. Disney Parks have well-maintained restrooms all over the property, so make use of them to scrub for at least 20 seconds. Hand sanitizer is great in a pinch, but nothing beats soap and water when it comes to removing germs effectively. Toy Story Land restrooms 2. But Also, Bring Hand Sanitizer Of course, you won’t always be near a sink, especially when you’re deep in a ride queue or hopping on the Skyliner. That’s where hand sanitizer becomes your flu-fighting sidekick. Bring travel-sized bottles with you and keep them easily accessible in a bag, stroller, or even clipped to your belt. Use it before and after touching ride restraints, grabbing snacks, or boarding transportation. It’s a small step that can make a big difference. Sanitizer Hand sanitizer stations are not found throughout the park as much as they were during the COVID-19 pandemic, so we suggest packing your own. We love the Touchland Mickey Hand Sanitizer. Not only is it on theme for the parks, but it is sprayable, making it perfect for kids and adults! Mickey Touchland Hand Sanitizer View on Amazon 3. Pack the Clorox Wipes Disney does an impressive job of keeping the parks clean, but flu season calls for a little extra vigilance. Bring a small pack of disinfecting wipes (such as Clorox or Lysol) to wipe down tables, high chairs, stroller handles, and even your hotel room’s remote control or door handles. Think of it as an extra layer of protection and peace of mind, especially if you’re traveling with kids or anyone with a weakened immune system. All those strollers! 4. Don’t Touch Everything We get it, Disney World is full of exciting things to see and do. But it’s also full of high-touch surfaces like railings, ropes, queue chains, and glass displays. Make it a rule, especially for younger kids, to avoid touching things unless necessary. It can be a tough habit to break, but simply being aware of what you’re touching can significantly reduce your exposure to germs. Monorail crowds 5. Avoid the Buffets This one might be a bit of a bummer, especially if you love all-you-care-to-enjoy options like Chef Mickey’s or Crystal Palace. But during flu season, buffets come with more shared surfaces and more opportunities for germs to spread. If you’re especially concerned about getting sick, consider booking family-style meals (like Garden Grill) or traditional table-service restaurants where the food is brought directly to you, minimizing contact with shared utensils and surfaces. Chef Mickey’s Buffet 6. Know Where to Go If You Get Sick No one wants to think about getting sick on vacation, but it’s always better to be prepared, just in case. Disney Resort hotels stock basic over-the-counter medications in their gift shops, and there are First Aid Centers located in each park for quick help. 12. Disney Cruise Line has been dropping a TON of news recently. Between all the announcements we just got about the Disney Believe joining the fleet in 2027, and now an update we were not expecting. Disney Wish Disney Cruise Line is officially testing out a new wristband system, so let’s dive into everything we know so far. Scott Gustin on X has officially shared that Disney Cruise Line is in the process of testing out an all-new wristband system on the Disney Treasure, which is currently sailing out of Port Canaveral. These wristbands would be a new wearable version of the Key to the World cards. These are the cards guests use to get into their room, make purchases on the ship, and more. Key to the World Card While guests can connect their Magic Bands to their Cruise and use those as their Key to the World cards, the wristband would be another option. This is currently in very limited testing only aboard the Disney Treasure, and Disney has not yet shared any plans for how this could be used in the future, only that the goal is for the wristbands to perform the same functions as the Key to the World cards. During testing, guests who do not have a Magic Band could be given the wristband instead of a traditional Key to the World card, although it will only be active for that specific sailing and must be returned before leaving the cruise. From @ScottGustin on X Now, this is not the only recent Disney Cruise Line update. In fact, we just got several exciting bits of news about what we can find aboard the all-new Disney Believe ship, which will begin sailing on December 18th, 2026, with bookings opening in just a few days, on October 19th. Disney Believe One of the announcements we are most excited about is the very first Broadway-style Encanto show that is coming to the Disney Believe! ©Disney There will also be cafes and lounges themed to Snow White, Moana, and Big Hero 6. ©Disney Plus, rotational dining including Oaken’s Table: A Frozen Family Feast and more! We are already so excited to set sail on this cruise next year and explore all of the magic and stories present on the Disney Believe. ©Disney We are also very interested to see how the testing on these new wristbands progresses and if this is a system Disney Cruise Line will start using widely. In the meantime, we will continue to keep you informed of all Disney Cruise Line news, so stay tuned to Disney Food Blog so you never miss anything! 13. New Disney World snacks are like a whole event! They could completely change how we feel about certain Disney World restaurants, and can save long-forgotten spaces that we usually skip. Outer Rim A popular Disney World bar over at the Contemporary Resort is Outer Rim, and the dining spot just added two new snacks to its menu. Of course, we had to go find out if this was going to be a new Disney World gem, or something you should avoid entirely. As always, we’re taking you with us in this snack review! The first thing we tried was the Elote Dip for $12.00. For starters, the chips are absolutely out of this world. They are thick enough to hold up against the dip, and the chips can dip as deep as you want without breaking. These are housemaid kettle potato chips and they were the perfect chip for our dipping adventure. Elote Dip The chips are seasoned well, but are not over-salted. They are also super crunchy, and they are almost a tad well done, which we’re not mad about at all. It actually helped to make them perfect for picking up as much dip as you want in any given bite. The chips are so tasty! The dip is delicious, but if you’re not a fan of cold dips, you might be put off by the dip since it’s served chilled. As huge fans of all things corn, we absolutely loved the dip. It was so creamy, full of herbs, and full of corn flavor. You can taste that the corn is roasted and roasted well; all the sweetness of the corn comes out in every bite. You can also taste the red onions and all the herbs that they used. It isn’t overly creamy; it just lets the corn shine through. You’re gonna find yourself going back over and over again for more bites of this dip. It’s THAT good! The dip is so good! Then we tried the Charcuterie Board for $17.00. Although this is not the most imaginative charcuterie board we’ve ever had, it is full of very tasty bites. As with any charcuterie board, the best part is the “choose your own adventure” aspect, and they have really nice quality meat, from salami to prosciutto. Charcuterie Board We found the meat was nicely sliced and prepared, and wasn’t too fatty. The Parmesan is quite good, as is the creamy Gouda. The nice surprises of this board are the spiced cheese in the center. It is like an Alouette cheese, and the fruit paste, which really brings to life the taste of the prosciutto when paired with the Gouda. So good! The biggest surprise of the board is the pesto crostini. These are toasted perfectly enough just to spread an amount of pesto on them to really bring to life the flavors of the meats and the cheeses. These were our favorite compliments. The water crackers were fine, but the crostini are delicious, and of course, we could not pass up the Marcona almonds. Those were so buttery and delicious. Overall, this is a very solid charcuterie board and is absolutely perfect to go with any cocktail on their menu. We love this! These new additions to their menu are long overdue. This has always been the one lounge that has been left out as far as snacks to be included with their cocktails. It is so refreshing that they have finally brought some to this location, as it always felt a little forlorn next to some of the other themed lounges. 14. Isn’t it crazy that D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event was already a couple of months ago?! During the event, Disney made some pretty major announcements, including one that sparked a lot of conversation amongst Disney fans! ©Disney During the Disney Parks and Experiences Showcase, Disney announced that they would FINALLY be fixing the long-broken yeti animatronic on Animal Kingdom’s Expedition Everest. We’re not exaggerating when we say it’s been broken for years. The animatronic is finally getting fixed, and while fans had lots to say, we actually got to hear the thoughts on the matter from one of the greatest Disney Imagineers of all time. Disney Legend, Joe Rohde! New York Comic Con is taking place this weekend, and we’ve gotten to hear and see some cool things Disney has in store, including a ton of projects on the horizon for Marvel. Joe Rohde is actually at the fan event, and he shared his thoughts on the Yeti animatronic that’s featured on the iconic Animal Kingdom attraction. Expedition Everest Joe Rohde did mention that he doesn’t know much about the attraction since he’s not working on it, but he did say it’s not as easy as saying “we want to do it, so let’s do it.” It’s a good statement to make because, as Disney fans, we sometimes ask for things to be done, but don’t realize how much more complicated it is than that. We’re guilty of it all the time! Expedition Everest “The narrative point has to be the Yeti is alive. As long as it’s moving, that’s a fix,” said Joe. He pointed out that everyone in Disney Imagineering needs to work together to move pieces, and no one is sure where it will stop. Expedition Everest If you remember when the ride first opened, you used to be able to see the arm of the Yeti animatronic swing over you as you exited the side of the mountain. However, with the scale and the complications of an animatronic like that, it broke down. What we see now is a strobe light effect to make it look at least a little scary, as well as make it look like it could be slightly moving. That’s where the nickname Disco Yeti comes from. ©Disney Disney hasn’t shared when the animatronic at Animal Kingdom will be fixed. There is currently no official timeline or closing date for the attraction. We’re assuming that when the time does come for an announcement, we could be seeing a lengthy closure for Expedition Everest. 16. If there is one thing we LOVE, it’s a new behind-the-scenes look at a mysterious project coming to Disney World. ©Bioreconstruct Which is why we were thrilled to see that brand-new photos just dropped, giving us an updated look at the construction happening at the mysterious “Project Fedora” coming to Disney’s Hollywood Studios. If you’ve been keeping up with Disney World news, then you know that several months ago Disney filed permits for a “Project Fedora” in Hollywood Studios. There were no other details about what this project entails other than that it will take place somewhere between Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular and the Backlot Express. “Project Fedora” Permit ©Central Florida Tourism Oversight District Given the name, many people, us included, think this new mystery project might have something to do with Indiana Jones. Given that his iconic hat is a fedora and that this project is being built right next to the Indiana Jones show. Given the type of space, it is possible that “Project Fedora” could be a new merch stand, or even a stack stand, but Disney has yet to confirm anything. Project Fedora Construction in Hollywood Studios However, today Bioreconstruct just posted some new aerial photos that show construction is happening in this area! ©Bioreconstruct We can see a steel frame has recently been added, and though we still can’t quite make out what this space will turn into, we are so happy to have gotten another update on this mysterious project after months of waiting. This is the first actual construction we have seen happening, so hopefully this means we are one step closer to finding out what “Project Fedora” really is! ©Bioreconstruct You can view the whole Bioreconstruct post right here: We will continue to keep you updated on all the “Project Fedora” news and keep you informed of when Disney officially announces what is coming to this space. 17. Disney World drops NEW snacks and treats every single day. And we know it can be difficult to keep track of all of them, which is why we always make sure to bring you reviews of every new snack that pops up, so you know what to try and what to skip on your next trip. Cookie Butter Mini Churros Well, recently Disney World dropped six new Churro treats, and we are diving into full reviews of each and every one, and seeing which were the best! Now, before we get started, it is important to know that Disney World is known for making not great churros. No matter what, they never quite seem to hit the mark, which is why we are very interested to see if any of these six new treats are able to redeem the Disney World churro reputation. Churro These new churro treats popped up all across Disney World, but we are starting our journey in Magic Kingdom over at Energy Bytes. This is a walk-up counter located in Tomorrowland next to TRON Lightcycle / Run, where they are serving the Churro Overdrive for $8.49. This is made with Cookies and Cream Mini Churros, Blue Sugar, and Marshmallow. Churro Overdrive These churros had a very pleasant crunch and were almost reminiscent of kids’ cereal. The churro itself was a standard Disney churro, meaning it was not our favorite and left us slightly disappointed. There is quite a bit of that creamy white frosting; however, it is extremely sugary and did not have a distinct taste other than sugar. Churro Overdrive Unfortunately, the glaze filling the bottom of the cup makes the churros get very soggy quickly. The blue sugar is a fun detail that makes this visually interesting, and we think these would be a fan favorite for kids. But overall, these were nothing super memorable and felt like a very sweet version of a classic Disney World churro. Churro Overdrive Next up, we visited Isle of Java in Disney’s Animal Kingdom to try the Churro-misu Cold Brew for $7.99. This is Joffrey’s Cold Brew Coffee topped with a Tiramisu Cold Foam, served with Churros. Churro-misu Cold Brew If you love very strong coffee, then you will be a fan of this one! However, if you are expecting a super sweet coffee from the name, that is not what you will get here. The cold brew was incredibly strong and tasted amazing, but it was unsweetened. We expected the flavors from the cold foam to balance out this drink, but even after mixing it, it was still only lightly creamy and very subtly sweet. Churro-misu Cold Brew Now, if you are a strong coffee lover, this will be right up your alley, but if you are looking for a sweet coffee drink, we would suggest trying something else instead. Also, if you grab this drink, make sure to take out the churro right away because it will get soggy quickly. Churro-misu Cold Brew Our churro adventures next took us to Warung Outpost, also in Animal Kingdom, to snag the Dole Whip Pineapple with Chili-Lime and Churro Sundae for $8.29. This is made with Pineapple Dole Whip, Chili-Lime-marinated Pineapple, Coconut, and Churros. Dole Whip Pineapple with Chili-Lime and Churro Sundae Unfortunately, this dessert faces the same problem as most treats that use a classic Disney churro: the standard Disney World churros are just not amazing. And sadly, the quality of the churro is not improved by presenting it in this unique way. However, the Dole Whip here was incredibly delicious, and the chili lime provided an amazing kick. We also loved the bits of marinated pineapple throughout. Dole Whip Pineapple with Chili-lime and Churro Sundae Our only complaint is that we wish there had been even more of the chili-lime flavor, since after a bit you are just left with classic Dole Whip. Overall, we would recommend taking the churros out quickly to avoid them getting soggy, but this was a great ice cream treat that is perfect for a hot day in Disney World. Dole Whip Pineapple with Chili-lime and Churro Sundae Next up, we went to Sunshine Seasons in EPCOT to try the Churro Strawberry Shortcake Sundae for $8.29. This is made with Churro Loops, Strawberry Soft-serve, Strawberry Compote, Whipped Cream, and Cake Crumbs. Churro Strawberry Shortcake Sundae Okay, we were shocked by how much we loved these churros! The loops were crunchy and full of cinnamon sugar, everything we want but typically do not get in a Disney World churro. The strawberry ice cream had a pleasant taste but did melt extremely quickly, even inside. Churro Strawberry Shortcake Sundae The strawberry compote was amazing and added some great texture. The best bites here included all of the elements, including the churro, together. This was fantastic, and we would definitely recommend trying it on your next visit to EPCOT, especially if you are looking for a great churro. Churro Strawberry Shortcake Sundae We also took a trip to Ice Cold Hydraulics in Hollywood Studios to grab the Cookie Butter Mini Churros for $8.29. These are Churros with Cookie Butter Cream and Crushed Cookies. Cookie Butter Mini Churros These did not taste like standard Disney Churros! They were extremely crunchy outside while being fluffy inside. The cinnamon sugar and cookie butter crumb flavors worked together very well. The cookie butter drizzle was fantastic, and we wished there had been even more of it in a cup on the side so you could dip it. Cookie Butter Mini Churros These were a hit, and we will for sure be grabbing them again on our next visit to Hollywood Studios! Cookie Butter Mini Churros Finally, we stopped by Anaheim Produce, also in Hollywood Studios, to grab our final Churro treat, the Bavarian Cream Filled Churros for $7.99. This is a Churro filled with Bavarian Cream, served with Chocolate Sauce. Bavarian Cream Filled Churros Unfortunately, this was not our favorite. The churro itself was completely plain with no coating on the outside, and the dough itself did not have a strong sweetness to it, and the texture tasted as though it might have been sitting out for a while. Bavarian Cream Filled Churros The Bavarian Cream was very creamy and rich. However, we do not think it was enough to make this churro great. The chocolate sauce was also a nice addition, but overall, this churro was pretty dry and plain, and it is not something we would recommend trying on your next visit. Bavarian Cream Filled Churros So, it looks like several of these treats WERE able to break that Disney World Churro curse and were very tasty, while others sadly did not quite meet the mark. We will continue to bring you food reviews from across Disney World, so stay tuned to Disney Food Blog so you never miss anything! 18. There’s more than meets the eye with this iconic Magic Kingdom restaurant! Crystal Palace Located at the end of Main Street, U.S.A., in Magic Kingdom, The Crystal Palace is a popular restaurant that features buffet meals, a stunning atmosphere, and visits from Pooh, Eeyore, Piglet, and Tigger as you dine. But the design of this restaurant isn’t just gorgeous — it also serves a hidden purpose that helps drive the detailed storytelling of the park! Let’s set the stage… You enter Magic Kingdom and stroll down the row of shops and restaurants that line Main Street U.S.A. From ragtime tunes courtesy of the Dapper Dans to quaint storefront displays, the small-town, turn-of-the-century vibes are at a max everywhere you look. As you reach the baseball-themed, hot dog-selling Casey’s Corner in all its Americana glory, you take a left and see the gorgeous Crystal Palace restaurant just around the corner. Crystal Palace The restaurant is designed to resemble England’s Crystal Palace, which was built in Hyde Park to house the Great Exhibition of 1851. Inside, the beautiful, glass greenhouse-themed space is decorated with plants, lights, and Winnie the Pooh-inspired details to complement the character dining experience. The entrance But the design of the Crystal Palace isn’t just beautiful — it’s also an intentional choice by Disney Imagineers to help transition from the Americana theming of Main Street, U.S.A., to the more exotic, lush vibes of Adventureland. Disney shared the inside scoop on how the Crystal Palace sets the stage for Adventureland in a recent Instagram post, highlighting just how this trick works! Disney Imagineering shared that The Crystal Palace acts as a “thematic bridge” that helps shift guests from the small-town Americana vibes of Main Street to the more exotic and exploratory experience of Adventureland. Let’s take a closer look at the magic in action! Mimosa at The Crystal Palace The Victorian conservatory architecture of The Crystal Palace blends well with the turn-of-the-century design language found along Main Street. But outside the restaurant near the edge of the hub, a lighter, garden-like atmosphere is introduced. The landscape textures intentionally change around The Crystal Palace, with towering palms, coffee trees, and other tropical plants signaling to guests that they’re now entering a new story. Magic Kingdom’s Crystal Palace Victorian-era conservatories allowed people to experience plants from places they weren’t able to visit themselves, meaning the unique backstory of The Crystal Palace sets the stage for the increasingly exotic foliage to be introduced seamlessly, without breaking the theming of the restaurant. Now that’s some serious attention to detail! Tigger and Piglet Topiaries inside Crystal Palace The Crystal Palace has been a longtime fan favorite spot for plenty of great reasons. The buffet-style meals feature some unique menu options, the atmosphere is absolutely gorgeous, and, of course, guests get to meet Winnie the Pooh and friends while they dine. But the backstory on just how intentionally thought out the theming is gives us one MORE reason to adore this spot! 19. JINGLE BELLS, JINGLE BELLS — what, too early? Well, not for Disney, that’s for sure! Jingle Cruise The holiday season is filled with lots of fun, unique activities in Disney World. Yes, you can pay extra to check out Jollywood Nights and Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, but if you’re looking for what you can do with just a regular park ticket, the ride overlays are what to look out for. A few rides only have holiday changes during the party, but Jingle Cruise is one you can count on once again this year to be available all day long! The Disney World website has just been updated to reveal the start date of Jingle Cruise this year, which will be November 3rd! Hours are showing throughout the entirety of November for this beloved holiday overlay, which features fun holiday additions and jokes throughout the ride. ©Disney However, we did notice an interesting glitch on the website. Though the Disney World calendar only goes out through December 9th at this time, the Jingle Cruise page doesn’t show any operating hours for December 1st-9th — instead, regular hours for those days are listed on the regular Jungle Cruise page. We know this ride isn’t going to randomly change back to the non-holiday version, though, because the website also lists that “Jungle Cruise will return early next year,” as it normally does once the holiday season is complete. Jingle Cruise If you’re looking for another holiday overlay in the park during regular hours, we recommend checking out Tomorrowland Speedway. We know, not a ride we’d normally recommend, but especially if you ride it at night, the decorations are stunning! In fact, it’s the only time of year we would recommend riding the attraction, because other times of the year, it really only draws in kiddos. We get it, though, because hey, getting to “drive” a car when you’re eight is pretty epic. Tomorrowland Speedway Looking for more holiday news for Disney parks? Check out our posts below! 20. Disney World has some amazing restaurants with such yummy food that it could change your life. There are so many places to choose from, but we always love great food with an even greater deal! Disney Springs And who doesn’t love saving money while traveling with the family? You can save some serious money this month, because kids eat free at two popular Disney Springs restaurants! At Paddlefish in Disney Springs, you’ll get one complimentary kids’ meal per adult entree ordered Monday through Friday until the end of October. The seafood restaurant has a large kids’ menu including filet, chicken, linguine, hot dogs, cheeseburgers, shrimp, and fish. Paddlefish For your adult entree, we recommend the Stuffed Cod for $39, which has shrimp and scallop cornbread stuffing, asparagus, red potato, and mustard cream sauce. The star of this dish was really the stuffing! It was pretty sweet and complemented the fish well. The asparagus was soft and easy to chew. The potatoes were crispy, and the mustard cream sauce was a little bitter with a dry, spicy flavor. Stuffed Cod You can get the same deal at Terralina Crafted Italian in The Landing. Kids eat free through October, and you’ll get one kids’ meal per adult entree ordered, Monday through Friday. This Italian restaurant has a kids’ menu featuring pizza, spaghetti, ravioli, mac and cheese, burgers, chicken, fish, and hot dogs. Terralina Crafted Italian For your adult entree, we love the Crafted Burger. It probably sounds silly to get a burger from an Italian restaurant, but it’s one of the best burgers in Disney Springs. It’s ground chuck and brisket cooked to your preferred temperature, arugula, tomato, pickled red onion, melted cheddar, and chili-sage aioli, all on a toasted bun, served with housemade truffle potato chips and garlic pickles for $23. The cheddar cheese melds with perfectly cooked beef and smoky brisket, while the fresh veggies craft an artisanal burger experience. 21. Think you know everything about planning a Disney World vacation? THINK AGAIN. Things around here change constantly, and even if you took a vacation last November, things are ENTIRELY different. Cinderella Castle And the Magic Kingdom isn’t a special exception — it’s actually changed SO MUCH over the past year. So, what do you need to know about going to Magic Kingdom in November? Let’s talk it out. Happily Ever After Won’t Show On 12 Nights November sees the start of Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, a special-ticketed event where guests can experience holiday magic in the Magic Kingdom filled with Christmas parades and fireworks, exclusive character meet-and-greets, festive food offerings, and lower wait times! Because the park closes early for the party, the Happily Ever After fireworks spectacular will not show on party nights. With 12 party nights in November, this means that Happily Ever After will not show on 12 nights. Happily Ever After The NEW Rule You Have To Follow for Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party in Disney World Plan Around The Holidays If You Can November is when the crowds REALLY start to pick up in Disney World, especially around the holidays, so if you can plan your vacation around them, DO IT! The three-day Veterans Day weekend and the week of Thanksgiving can be very crowded. Try to plan your trip on the weekdays for the least number of crowds — this will give you the best chance to get on as many rides as possible, snag harder-to-get reservations, and find a table at the quick-service restaurants! Crowds in the Magic Kingdom JUST ANNOUNCED: Park Hours for Thanksgiving Week at Disney World The Christmas Parade Won’t Show During The Day One of the best entertainment offerings at Magic Kingdom is the parades — they don’t happen anywhere else! However, if you have a day ticket to the Magic Kingdom and were hoping to see the Christmas parade, I’m afraid you’re out of luck. The Christmas parade only happens during Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, while the Festival of Fantasy Parade and the Adventure Friends Cavalcade show during the day. If you were really hoping to experience the Christmas parade, we recommend grabbing a ticket to the party and showing up at least 30 minutes before the parade starts! Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party Everything Returning to Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party in Disney World in 2026 Pack A Little Bit Of Everything The weather in Disney World in November can be quite…unpredictable. One day it could be 80° and sunny, and the next day it could be 50° and cloudy. Because of this, you should pack a little bit of everything — sweatshirts, T-shirts, shorts, pants, ponchos… EVERYTHING! It’s better to be prepared than to have to drop a lot of $$$ on new clothes you may want, but definitely don’t need. The Sorcerer Mickey Sweatshirt How El Niño Could Affect Disney World This Winter Some Paths Will Be Blocked By Construction A lot of change is taking place around Magic Kingdom right now with the preparation of two new lands and refurbishing an attraction. Because of this, paths may be unavailable for guests to use. One specific one to note is the bridge from Liberty Square to Frontierland — this bridge is currently behind walls for the construction of Piston Peak. Looks like you’ll just have to take the long way for now! Piston Peak Construction “We All Know The Abundance of Cars in Colonial America.” Disney Fans React to the ‘Cars’ Land Announcements A Popular Attraction Will Be Closed For Refurbishment Finally, beginning November 2nd, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure will close for refurbishment. The attraction is currently scheduled to open back up at the end of December. So, if you’re headed to Frontierland and hoping to head down the bayou in November, the only day you’ll be able to do so is November 1st. But don’t worry, there are still PLENTY of other amazing attractions in Magic Kingdom to ride, including the newly refurbished Big Thunder Mountain Railroad! Tiana’s Bayou Adventure We don’t want you to be surprised on your vacations, so be sure to remember these six things to have a smooth and magical trip! 22. We finally got an update on Universal Orlando’s Horror Make-Up Show, and it’s a big one! Universal Studios Orlando Universal Horror Make-Up Show at Universal Studios Florida closed earlier this year on May 12th. The closure was for a refurbishment to completely reimagine the classic attraction to have a mix of classic and modern horror properties. After a long wait, Universal has given us an update, and while we’re still waiting on some details, this new attraction title says a lot. Universal Studios Orlando just announced Universal Horror Make-Up Show featuring Blumhouse! This new live show will have guests “discover how Hollywood’s top special effects artists have terrified moviegoers for over 100 years, from Universal’s classic monsters to the modern horrors of Blumhouse.” ©Universal We were huge fans of the original version of this show that went through how Hollywood makes some of their iconic monsters and special effects. The magic really started in the queue, where you’d see real props from famous movies. We’re really curious to see what this new version of the show brings! @Universal Universal posted that there will be more details coming soon, but they haven’t announced when those details could be coming. Universal also hasn’t shared when we could be seeing this new version of the show open. We’ll keep our eyes and ears open for any news that could be dropping. ©Universal While you’re waiting for this horror show, you can still go and enjoy frights and fears at Universal Halloween Horror Nights! The event is still taking place on select nights through November 1st, and it features tons of immersive haunted houses, scare zones, exclusive food, merchandise, and more. Halloween Horror Nights We’re always on top of all the latest theme park news and updates. 23. If EPCOT is your favorite Disney World park, pay close attention because we just stayed in one of the CLOSEST hotel rooms to the park, and we’re here to give you the FULL TOUR! Disney’s BoardWalk Inn Disney’s BoardWalk Inn is located just STEPS away from one of EPCOT’s entrances and gives you access to some of the rides other guests will have to take a trek to get to (hint: it’s one of the most popular rides in the park!). So, if you’re looking for convenience and are hoping to get as many attractions done as possible, STAY HERE! Come take a look at their rooms — they’re GORGEOUS! Atmosphere Disney’s BoardWalk Inn is one of Disney World’s Deluxe resorts located on Crescent Lake between Hollywood Studios and EPCOT. Here, you’ll find a mix of nostalgic coastal features with nods to classic Atlantic City and Coney Island vacation culture. At night, the BoardWalk comes to life with entertainment and late-night dining options, including the newly opened Hurly-Burly! The lobby is filled with gold, white, and light blue colors, creating that classic seaside feeling. We recently stayed in one of the hotel’s standard rooms, and we’re bringing you along with us for the FULL tour! BoardWalk Inn Lobby Standard Room When you walk into one of their standard rooms, you’re met with either two queen beds or one king bed, depending on what type of room you chose at the time of booking. The room is well lit with lamps and overhead lights, and the patterns match that classical coastal vibe of the resort. The room! On each side of the bed, you’ll also find reading lights overhead, so if you want to stay up and read or do another activity, you don’t have to disturb everyone else in the room. Simply pull out the reading light and adjust it to your liking — it turns on when it’s pulled out! The in-bed reading lights Each standard room comes with a nightstand, which holds a phone and a Hey, Disney! device. This service works with Alexa on Amazon Echo devices to assist guests with room amenities, guest services, planning, weather information, and more! A pamphlet is given alongside the device to show guests how it works and what else it can do. Two outlets, a USB and a USB-C outlet, and the light switches are also found in this area. Hey, Disney! On either side of the bed, you can also find a small table to keep other things. So, if you’re sleeping four people in these two beds, each person can have a place to keep their items! There are also two outlets and a USB and USB-C outlet above the table. The side table These rooms also come with a TV and a dresser to keep all of your belongings in. The drawers themselves are quite spacious, and there’s even more room on top below the TV! The TV offers classic channels, like ABC and ESPN, but they also offer (my favorite) the Walt Disney World Resort TV Today, which is basically just a channel that shows the park hours, but it plays the BEST music! TV & Dresser The standard rooms at the BoardWalk also include a pullout couch to sleep a fifth person. Directions on how to unfold and refold the couch can be found on the side table. Pullout couch And on the pullout couch are the CUTEST decorative pillows with Mickey Mouse heads all over! I don’t know about you, but I’m going to need some of these pillows to decorate my home. These pillows are so cute! By the couch is a lamp with quite a magical detail! These are truly hidden Mickeys because when the lamp is OFF, you can’t see them, but turn the lamp on and the Mickey heads will appear! Turn the lamp on to find the Mickeys! When you thought there weren’t enough places to sit, these rooms even come with an extra chair in the corner! There’s another seat! Let’s take a closer look at that curtain behind the chair, shall we? On it, you’ll find silhouettes of some of Disney’s most iconic characters, like Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Pluto, Goofy, Donald Duck, and Daisy Duck! Look at the details on this curtain! And don’t think this curtain is the only thing with gorgeous artwork because there are plenty more pictures and murals throughout the room! Your room may include hanging portraits… Hanging portraits … pictures of beloved Disney characters ON the BoardWalk… Artwork in the BoardWalk’s standard rooms … and two of Disney’s most iconic couples in Swan Boats on Crescent Lake! The swan boats! But that’s not all — head over to the coffee area, and you’ll find a beautiful mural of Mickey and Minnie having a picnic in the grass area outside of the resort. How gorgeous is this mural?! The coffee area is a part of the closet space. The shelf above the coffee area has an ice bucket, which you can fill at the ice machine down the hall, and the drawer below is where you’ll find the coffee pods and cups for the Keurig. The closet and coffee area In the cabinet below the drawer with the coffee pods, you’ll find a beverage cooler. It’s important to note that this is NOT the same as a refrigerator, so it may not keep food or other things as cold. Beverage cooler Each of the closet doors has a full-length mirror. The door on the farthest left opens up to several shelves, including one with a safe and a blow dryer. Inside the closet The two doors in the middle are where you’ll find the hanging closet space with hangers for your clothes. There are also an extra pillow, an extra blanket, and a luggage rack inside this portion of the closet. Inside the closet Moving on to the bathroom area of the room, you’ll first find the sink, which is separated from the toilet and shower. A large mirror is on the wall in front of you, as well as another full-length mirror on the bathroom door. Sink area A smaller mirror is also available on the side wall. This mirror can be flipped for a closer view and lights up, so you’re able to see better while you’re doing makeup, your face wash routine, etc. The light switch can be found on the bottom of the mirror. The smaller mirror Several toiletries are available for use, as well, including bath soap, hand soap, and body lotion… The soaps and lotions … and a shower cap, vanity kit (cotton pads, cotton swabs, and a nail file), and mouthwash. Other toiletries Stepping inside the bathroom, you’ll find a toilet, a shower, and several towel racks with face cloths, hand towels, and body towels. BoardWalk Inn hotel room bathroom The shower doubles as a tub, so you can relax and reset however you’d like. There are also several shelves to keep your own toiletries on. Inside the shower Complimentary shampoo, conditioner, and body wash are located in the shower as well. Complimentary toiletries Plenty of towels are available in the towel rack over the toilet and on the side of the shower. This is also where an extra box of tissues can be found. And, as always, more towels are available upon request. The towel rack Depending on what floor you’re on, you’ll have either a balcony or a patio with chairs and tables. The patio And on the back of the door, you’ll find a peephole and an evacuation route in case there is ever an emergency and you need to find the closest exit. The back of the door Every room also comes with a “Do Not Disturb” sign, which indicates whether or not you’re in the room. If you have this on the outside of your door, housekeeping knows not to come in. Room Occupied Sign Dining Now that we’ve covered the room, it’s time to figure out where you can eat while you’re staying here. This is especially helpful if you don’t feel like trekking to a park or another resort — there are plenty of great options nearby, starting with The Cake Bake Shop Restaurant by Gwendolyn Rogers. This is one of the fancier restaurants at the resort, but it’s filled with yummy entrees and GLITTER! Cake Bake Shop Restaurant Right next door is the bakery location of this restaurant — the Cake Bake Shop Bakery. Step in here to try one of their amazing desserts, famous cake slices, or grab yourself a coffee! Boston Cream Pie Cake Not a fan of cake, but still want something sweet? Try the BoardWalk Ice Cream Shop! This ice cream to-go store scoops up simple sundaes and cones made with Edy’s brand ice cream. Thundering Surf Peanut Butter and Chocolate Sundae And if you’re looking for a quick breakfast, lunch, or dinner option, the BoardWalk Deli is the place to go! This location serves up fresh hot and cold deli sandwiches, baked breads, and select bakery items. BoardWalk Deli Sit-down meals are also an option on the BoardWalk, including at Trattoria al Forno! This eatery serves breakfast and dinner daily and is an “original Italian restaurant.” The dinner menu features regional specialties with classic preparations. Trattoria al Forno But if you’re looking for just a quick slice of pizza, the Pizza Window right next door has some great options! They offer both whole pizza pies and pizza by the slice! BoardWalk Pizza Window If you’re looking for a drink with a twist, visit AbracadaBar! Guests can experience their lingering magic in the sights, sounds, and even tastes (through the signature “Curious Cocktails”) in this enchanted lounge! AbracadaBar Flying Fish is a great restaurant if you’re looking to dine at a table-service location. This signature restaurant serves gourmet seafood and has an emphasized focus on seasonal, sustainable fare. Flying Fish Another POPULAR location on Disney’s BoardWalk is Blue Ribbon Corn Dogs. This location serves up hand-dipped corn dogs, giant mozzarella sticks, deep-fried Hawaiian rolls, and more — and it’s delicious! Blue Ribbon Corn Dogs Disney’s newest lounge just opened up on the BoardWalk! Visit Hurly-Burly for coastal-inspired cocktails, small American bites, and live entertainment! This location welcomes guests daily at 4 PM for family-friendly fun, including host-led activities like trivia and other games, and turns into a 21-and-over space starting at 9 PM. Caramel Corn Old Fashioned The other two dining locations you can find on the BoardWalk are Joe’s Marvelous Margaritas and the BoardWalk Snack Stand. A quick-service location has been announced to be coming to the BoardWalk soon, but is not open yet. Joe’s Marvelous Margaritas Inside the resort, guests can enjoy drinks at the Belle Vue Lounge and Carousel Coffee. The lounge is modeled after a 1930s sitting room, with nice touches like board games and working radios playing shows from eras past. The coffee shop is located right in the lobby and serves up coffee, tea, and pastries, including options by Joffrey’s! Carousel Coffee I don’t know about you, but I’m booking my stay here ASAP! Holiday weekends are normally much busier at each of the four parks already, but we didn’t think it was going to be “Lightning Lane Premier Passes sold out” busy! 27. Disney World is undergoing A LOT of changes right now, from new lands and hotels to refurbishing existing attractions and renovating guest rooms. Fans have certainly had their opinions on these changes — good and bad –, and some come even before the completion of these projects. This turns our attention to Disney’s Art of Animation Resort. Disney’s Art of Animation Resort Disney has announced that the resort will be renovating its rooms, and the uncertainty of what these rooms are going to look like has me, as well as other fans, holding our breath. Some fans are nervous that this latest hotel refurbishment may fall into the same “trap” as other recent similar projects. Namely, that Disney may take a heavily themed hotel environment and turn it into something generic. Earlier this year, Disney announced that the popular Art of Animation Resort would be undergoing a room renovation in 2027. At the time of the project’s announcement, Disney said the work would begin in the spring. The resort’s standard rooms and family suites will be transformed and modernized. While retaining the theme, the new Little Mermaid rooms will feature new under-the-sea prints and a Murphy bed — similar to the current layout of the rooms at Pop Century — along with a seashell bed and chairs. Furthermore, the company said that Imagineering and facilities are working together to maintain the feeling of stepping into a movie, which is obviously integral to rooms such as Cars and Toy Story. The resort will remain open throughout this refurbishment. ©Disney In the eyes of some Disney fans, many recent projects, including the recent Polynesian Resort’s Island Tower, have seen renovated rooms lose many of their unique elements, becoming too similar to standard hotel rooms as one would find at a Marriott. As one of our readers put it on social media, “Disney hotels are being watered down. If I’m paying the price to stay in the Disney bubble, I want to be drunk on whimsy and forget the outside world exists for a few days.” Polynesian Island Tower Villa To be fair, of course, others prefer the new style rooms, arguing that they seem up to date with modern hotel trends, which Disney will need to do to remain an industry leader. Villa dining area For a specific example, let’s look at the recently renovated Royal Rooms at the Port Orleans Resort – Riverside. The original iterations of these rooms were themed as a guest room where Princess Tiana welcomed her fellow Princesses to stay. The rooms were filled with references to other Disney Princesses. Cinderella’s carriage was the coat hook, the ottoman from Beast Castle, Aladdin’s Magic Carpet pattern in the carpet, and seashells and starfish elements representing Ariel, to name a few. The original Royal Rooms at Disney’s Port Orleans – Riverside The new take on the concept, introduced in 2026, retains a Princess and the Frog connection, but shifts the theme to be guest rooms of Princess Tiana and Prince Naveen, placing guests directly into the bayou. These new rooms are much lighter on the thematic elements, with an overall aesthetic of a functional 2020s hotel room, with lighter colors and replacing thematic pieces with “functional” furniture. The new Royal Guest Room at Port Orleans Riverside Perhaps the most emblematic element of these changes is the pair of interactive headboards above the beds. The previous version featured a vision of the bayou forest with LED effects that you could turn on to create the magical — and oh-so-Disney — touch of LED fireworks going off. A Royal Guest Room at Port Orleans Resort The new headboards feature images of animals in the bayou and two distinct lighting packages. There’s a daytime version, which illuminates the image from behind, almost giving the image of a daytime morning. The mural when off Then there’s the option to flip to a nighttime version. The lighting shifts to purple and blue hues, evoking the vibe of a magical night on the bayou. Once night mode is switched on, a flurry of flickering LED fireflies lights up. The fireflies! As far as our readers go, the rooms received similar mixed reactions. For example, one reader wrote, “I think they are definitely beautiful with a bit of elegance thrown in. So much brighter! I like them very much.” On the flip side, another wrote, “I think they are very pretty, but not special enough to pay extra for. I agree they need something more over the top for a Royal Room.” Royal Room Which brings us back to Art of Animation. A major part of the appeal of the Value Tier Resort — which opened back in the early 2010s — is just how “Disney” it is. Everything from the rooms… Art of Animation Finding Nemo Family Suite .. to the pools… The Big Blue Pool … to the food… I’m Nemo Cheesecake … to the overall icons and decor are fully immersed in Disney’s animated filmography. Scar at Art of Animation Due to that, Disney will likely have to walk a tightrope as they modernize the hotel’s rooms, since making them seem “too generic” could lead to even bigger backlash from fans than other projects like the aforementioned Port Orleans rooms.
