  2. It’s that time of the year between Halloween and Christmas when most of us are REALLY stressed out. The holidays are a LOT sometimes, especially if you’re traveling to Disney World or Orlando for them, plus there’s holiday shopping to deal with, decorating for the holidays, and the general end of the year stuff that almost always pops up. ©Dopamine Land Well, if you need an escape from holiday stress, there’s this thing called Dopamine Land that’s coming to Orlando on November 20th, and it’s sure to free you from all your worries…at least for a little while. We’ve got all the details! Dopamine Land is “a multisensory immersive experience that invites guests into a vibrant world of color, light and play, designed to spark joy.” During the experience, you’ll make your way through a series of interactive rooms and explore environments meant to stimulate dopamine, that hormone that triggers happiness. Dopamine Land will open in Orlando on November 20th at the Fever Hub at The Florida Mall. ©Dopamine Land The experience lasts around 90 minutes, and tickets are on sale now. Tickets start at $21 per person, which seems like a small price to pay for an hour-and-a-half of pure joy, right? Dopamine Land includes the following experiences: Colourtopia: This is a surreal “neon kingdom” that’s full of ever-changing color. You’ll be surrounded by a kaleidoscope of light that changes and evolves. Scribblescape: This is where you can explore creative freedom. Draw, paint, and write on every surface in the room and just let spontaneous creativity take over. Neon Nebula: This is “an electrifying universe of light, color, and movement.” The room is filled with glowing visuals and invites guests to interact and fully immerse themselves in a sensory exploration. Cave of Tactility: This room is calming and touch-driven, with soft textures and “immersive materials” to explore curiosity and calmness. ©Dopamine Land Chromodance: It’s time to dance! This high-energy zone is about music, light, and movement. Choose your own soundtrack and just let loose. Sunset Lagoon: A golden-hued landscape awaits in this room, as well as a giant ball pit where you can play, unwind, and let go. Cushion Clash: An inflatable space meant for pillow battles, nostalgia, and joy. Euphoria Grove: This “tranquil and fully immersive forest” shows nature across four seasons using sound, light, and scent. It’s calming, reflective, and balanced. Cosmic Oasis: You’ll enter a portal of light and reflections here to change your perspective and create an illusion of infinite space. ©Dopamine Land Dopamine Land will provide a lot of fun for the whole family, so if you need a place to just feel free, play, and forget life’s stresses, this might be just for you. Honestly? It sounds kinda awesome, so we’ll see you there! Stay tuned to DFB for more Disney and Orlando news! 5. Could this new limited-time offering get more people on board with Universal Kids Resort? Universal Kids Resort Universal Kids Resort is a new theme park that opened in Frisco, Texas earlier this year in July. The park has seven lands and over 30 attractions themed after Shrek, SpongeBob, Minions, Trolls, Puss in Boots, and Jurassic World. Since it opened, it’s gotten a mix of good and bad reviews from guests. Now, the theme park is launching an all-new limited-time Explorer Ticket that’ll give guests even more ways to play! Could this change things? Universal Kids Resort is expanding on its ticket and annual pass offerings to provide guests with more flexibility, value, and ways to enjoy the new theme park. They launched the Gold Annual Pass last month, and now the resort is debuting a new limited-time Explorer Ticket. This new ticket will be a value offering that gives guests access to the park on select days. Minions Splash Pad The Explorer Ticket is for daily admission Sundays through Thursdays ONLY, up until March 11th, 2027. The Explorer Ticket is available for purchase right now and will be available through January 6th, 2027. Be aware that blockout dates may apply, and that parking is not included. Universal Kids Resort The cost for the Explorer Ticket is $69.99 per person, plus tax, making it only $20 more than a 1-Day General Admission ticket and CHEAPER than a 2-Day General Admission ticket. That’s quite the steal for a pass that can be used for as many days as you want until March 11th. Welcome to TrollsFest! Here are the prices for all of the ticket options at Universal Kids Resort: 1-Day General Admission – from $49.99 per person, plus tax. 2-Day General Admission – from $73.99 per person, plus tax. Explorer Ticket (All-New!) – $69.99 per person, plus tax. Silver Annual Pass – $129.99 per person, plus tax. Silver Annual Pass with Parking – $164.99 per person, plus tax. 6. Halloween is right around the corner, and if you’ve been following along on Disney Parks Blog over the past two months, you may have noticed an extra dash of frightful fun across Disney Parks around the world. From August 21 through October 31, Disneyland Resort is once again home to plenty of seasonal magic complete with touches of Halloween excitement. Now, fans can bring some of that fun to their devices with a new set of downloadable wallpapers inspired by new decorations now up at Pixar Place Hotel. Disney Parks Blog recently caught up with Disney artist Brett Snodgrass, whose latest creation transforms familiar faces from Disney and Pixar’s Monsters, Inc. into a playful Halloween celebratory theme at Pixar Place Hotel. The colorful artwork features an assortment of recognizable monster pals dressed in festive costumes and surrounded by candy-and-door-filled scenes that capture the true spirit of the season. WALLPAPER Download Phone Desktop Smart Watch WALLPAPER Download Phone Desktop Smart Watch WALLPAPER Download Phone Desktop Smart Watch WALLPAPER Download Phone Desktop Smart Watch Spot Favorite Monsters, Inc. Friends in These Clever Wallpapers Mike and Sulley may be the dynamic duo at the heart of Monsters, Inc. but no Pixar story is complete without a memorable supporting cast. These downloadable wallpapers feature plenty of familiar monster friends (and one hidden human), allowing you to spot your favorite characters across the colorful designs. One of the coolest details in this delightful batch of wallpapers? The use of the iconic “doors”, pulled straight from the creative vision of the original 2001 movie. This creative nod immediately brings back memories of watching the opening sequence of Monsters, Inc. on our old-school VHS as a kid, highlighting one of the film’s most recognizable visual elements. Bringing these creative designs to life requires months of endless passion and collaboration between teams at Walt Disney Imagineering, Pixar Animation Studios, and Resort Enhancement at Disneyland Resort, all working together to create an environment that celebrates the world of Monstropolis in a festive and clever way. “There are some brilliant concept artists who’ve worked on the Monsters, Inc. and Monsters University movies over the years, and I think they’re just beautiful movies,” Brett said. “So, I really dug into what the other artists have done. Guests are going to see a lot of shapes and compositions that really reflect some of that early concept artwork.” To bring this vision to life, Brett partnered closely with the always-creative Pixar minds over in Emeryville to make sure that the characters featured at Pixar Place Hotel stayed true to the established look, personality, and story. Once the artwork was officially signed, sealed, and delivered to the colorful lobby inside the hotel, it was time to transform these concepts into a real-life environment at the hotel. Now, they are being brought to life as downloadable wallpapers for desktop, mobile, and smart watch devices. WALLPAPER Download Phone Desktop Smart Watch WALLPAPER Download Phone Desktop Smart Watch WALLPAPER Download Phone Desktop Smart Watch Scoop Up Some Sweet Treats with Candy-Inspired Wallpapers In my book, October means a few things: Halloween costumes, postseason baseball, and plenty of candy to keep the season feeling extra sweet. With these colorful, downloadable wallpaper designs, fans can celebrate one of Halloween’s most iconic traditions from their desktop, mobile device, or smart watch. With playful, candy-filled artwork featuring favorite Monstropolis-inspired treats like “Bog Water Taffy,” “Carasmell Chews,” and “Sludge Brownies,” these designs are a yummy reminder that a little sugar and creativity can go a long way as October 31 approaches. And for those preparing to stay at one of the three Hotels of the Disneyland Resort in October, the sweet fun doesn’t stop there. For a limited-time, overnight guests can explore a delicious trick-or-treat trail across all three Hotels of the Disneyland Resort. To participate in this fun, seasonal (and complimentary) experience on select days in October, be sure to visit the Front Desk to sign up and receive your own wristband, goodie guide, and treat bag. If you’re traveling to Disneyland Resort during Halloween Time this year, you can also save up to 20% on select room types for stays of three or more nights at a Disneyland Resort hotel from October 11 through December 18, 2026. Make sure to swing by The Sketch Pad Café for a sweet seasonal pastry and check out the first-ever Monsters Inc.-inspired Halloween decor at Pixar Place Hotel. Be sure to search for your favorite characters, discover hidden details sprinkled throughout the artwork, and snap a few photos on your phone (using one of these wallpapers for your background, of course) with these awesome displays during your next visit. 7. We’ve got amazing news for you, but terrible news for your wallet! There’s another store that’s just opened in Disney Springs, and yes, that means that our wallets are about to explode (and yours probably will too — just a heads-up). Vuori is open! Disney Springs has been doing a lot of store closures and swap-outs this year, which has been quite interesting to see. Wolfgang Puck Bar & Grill closed just a few months ago, and by early April this year, we’d already seen three major spots close. Vuori is the newest spot that’s just been added to the Disney Springs, and it’s about to do some serious damage on our wallets. Vuori is a California-based athletic wear brand known for its comfortable joggers and athleisure pieces. They operate 40 stores in major U.S. cities, including Los Angeles, Chicago, Denver, New York, San Francisco, Boston, and now Orlando, Florida! You’ll also find the brand sold at places like Nordstrom, REI, and Equinox, as well as the former Shore storefront at Disney Springs. Now, if you want to grab a fit straight from the shop, you don’t have to go far. The new store! We really love the way that there’s plenty to look at, while there’s also lots of space to move around. Sometimes stores feel a bit too crowded, but this is a great size for this store. We didn’t feel cramped at all. So much to see! You’ll find the store to be neatly organized, with some of it even split by color, making it easy to find the shades you’re searching. Very organized! There are plenty of items here for both men and women, as well as items for all seasons. That means you’ll find something great for the warmer days this fall, as well as some stylish items for when the winter weather comes in. Remember, Orlando DOES indeed get cold, so there very well may be days you find yourself in need of a jacket. So much to check out! Want to make sure you didn’t miss any recent Disney Springs news? 10. We’ve seen some pretty long lines in Disney World, and they’re usually for rides like Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind in EPCOT and Rise of the Resistance in Disney’s Hollywood Studios. But today, one of the longest lines in Disney World isn’t even in the theme parks! World of Disney So we recently told you about a MAJOR drop happening at World of Disney for the newest Lorcana set, Hyperia City. Well, let’s just say that the line to buy the set at World of Disney in Disney Springs is pretty long right now. So here’s the deal: the new Lorcana drop at World of Disney is using a virtual queue (probably because Disney KNEW there would be a HUGE demand for it). So we signed up for the virtual queue ourselves as soon as we could and still landed in group 40. Group 40!!! Our estimated wait time was 30 minutes at 6 AM today. ©Disney When we arrived at Disney Springs, a long line had already formed at World of Disney and was literally wrapping around the shopping/dining district. This Lorcana drop is HUGE. The card game is seriously popular online and in person, as you can see below. The line is LONG Things were pretty busy INSIDE the store, too, so if you’re just shopping there for something else, GOOD LUCK. Yep, it’s busy! So what’s got everyone so excited? Lorcana is a collectible card game that includes Disney characters and stories. 11. We’ve already started planning our Disney World trips for 2027, and it’s time to get those calendars out again, because a beloved event is returning next year! Banana Ball crowd! If you’ve been following the Disney Food Blog for a while, you know how much we love the Savanah Bananas (Jackson Olsen is basically AJ’s little brother), so you can imagine how much we freaked out when we heard that Banana Ball is returning to Disney World in 2027. Who’s ready for some more Banana Ball?! That’s rhetorical — we know you are! The Banana Ball schedule has finally announced its 2027 schedule, and it includes the Banana Ball Open, which is a four-game experience taking place on April 15th-18th. During the Banana Ball Open, all six teams will compete head-to-head at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex at Disney World. We had a blast at Banana Ball at Disney World when it first came, and we’re so excited to see it return, and this time with such a big event for the league! Such a fun game! This is the second time that Banana Ball has come to Disney World. Disney World hosted two Banana Ball games earlier in the year this year. It’s such a fun game, and we couldn’t recommend it enough. If you’re interested in seeing the Banana Ball Open in 2027, you can enter the ticket lottery right now through October 31st. All you have to do is head to the BananaBall.com website. Tickets aren’t that bad, starting at $35 per person. Party Animals on the field! If you’ve never seen a Banana Ball game, this isn’t your usual baseball game. It’s a whole different fun-filled twist on the traditional game, with a whole bunch of wacky rules. Rules like getting ejected for bunting (because “bunting sucks”), sprinting after four balls before every defensive player on the field touches the ball, and a team sending any hitter in the lineup to bat in any spot one time in the game. Those are only a few of the MANY wonky rules. It’s time for Banana Ball! To get to the game, you will have to pre-purchase parking. There is also the option to take a Minnie Van, as the service provides transportation to and from select locations within Walt Disney World Resort, including ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex. Prices vary based on distance traveled. Banana Ball! It’s a good day to be a Banana Ball fan, because the news doesn’t end there. There’s also a new Banana Ball documentary coming to Disney+ and Hulu in the fall of 2027. The documentary follows the origin of Banana Ball from Savannah, Georgia. It starts with its beginnings 10 years ago and how it’s become what it is today. It will feature inside stories, personalities, and the community behind the sports sensation. Banana Ball! The film is directed by David Beilinson and produced by Connor Schell’s Words + Pictures, Benj Pasek, and Justin Paul’s Ampersand. The documentary will feature 11 original songs from Pasek & Paul, with additional songwriters Ashley Gorley, Cal Shapiro, Ben Johnson, Adam Yaron, Jake Sinclair, Brandon Bomer, Jarius Jones, and Jesse Cole. Banana Ball! As Banana Ball fans, we’re always keeping an eye out for what they’re going to do with Disney. So, if you’re a fan or you just want to stay up to date on all the latest Disney news and updates, make sure to follow us at the Disney Food Blog! 14. Here at DFB, we have a Friday tradition we lovingly refer to as Furr-idays. Binx and his banshee On Fridays, I prompt everyone on the team to share a recent photo of their furbabies, and we “ooh” and “aah” over each and every one (or laugh, depending on what they’re up to in said photo). It’s a great way to get into the weekend spirit, but also gives us a chance to bond as a team over our love of animals. And, as you may have suspected, these furbabies really are our bosses, so I’d like to introduce some of them to you. So how did our Furr-iday tradition begin? Well, a member of our team who is no longer with us started prompting us every Friday to post photos of our pets on our Slack chat. When that member left, I took it upon myself to keep the tradition going, and it became Furr-iday! I usually post a photo of one of my five cats (usually the two youngest, Taylor and Binx, because they are always doing something precocious). So meet Taylor (who is, yes, named after Taylor Swift) on her Haunted Mansion blankie. Binx, well, that’s him up above cuddled up with the Banshee I got in Animal Kingdom years ago. Taylor is a Haunted Mansion fan We’ve got another cat duo, Theodore and Princess Poppy, who own DFB team member Traci, love waiting for treats (not so much the waiting part, though). Theodore and Princess Poppy (im)patiently waiting for treats Piper is rocking some cute Dante wings for Halloween! Piper wins Best Halloween costume Bruni is SO adorable, and yes, there is a bit of a theme of some of our animals being named after Disney characters. We’re sure that’s no big surprise, though! Bruni is ready for breaking Disney news! Kairi was feeling patriotic in a way that would make Sam the Eagle proud (it’s a patriotic Lamb Chop toy — so cute!). Kairi with her patriotic Lambchop Meet Nola and Olive, who don’t usually like to be so close to each other, but sometimes cats do random things! Nola and Olive. No touchee. Nixon got a new office bed recently, and we’d say he’s loving it. Nixon is hard at work We are IN LOVE with Bentley’s one floppy ear here. Bentley keeps one ear up for breaking Disney news It’s not just dogs and cats that are running our offices, though. There are horses, too. Meet Atlas. The latest Disney news, straight from the horse’s mouth Bunnies are busy bossing us around, too. Some bunny is ready to cover a big Disney story Tyrion loves a good roll in the leaves…but, seriously, who doesn’t? Bring on fall! Rolling around in the leaves is our fave fall hobby These are just a few of the furbabies who do the REAL work here at DFB by keeping us all motivated and laughing, even if they sometimes just get in the way by “helping.” And they almost always crash our work video meetings. They are as much a part of the team as we mere humans, and life would be boring without them. How Disney Keeps Its Animals Cozy During the Winter Speaking of animals, one of our favorite Disney World parks is Disney’s Animal Kingdom. 15. Southwest Airlines has been in the news a LOT recently in the past year or so, and not always for the best reasons. We’re warning you now — there’s ANOTHER change hitting this airline, but you may be happier with this one than some of the others. Southwest Airlines at MCO Earlier this year, it was announced that new Southwest lounges are on the way, which is great for customers who stayed loyal to them throughout the controversial changes that came before, which consisted of changing their open seating policy and getting rid of free checked bags. This new update, however, is more of a positive one, depending on how you look at it — Southwest Airlines is completely revamping their Rapid Rewards membership. The next evolution of Southwest Airlines’ award-winning Rapid Rewards program is here, and it features Silver, Gold, and Platinum tiers, new Milestone Rewards to earn to get your towards status, more opportunities for Companion Pass trips, and a faster path to tier status for Rapid Rewards Credit Cardmembers. ©Southwest Beginning in January 2027, Rapid Rewards will continue to offer the benefits that members love about it, including no blackout dates, points that don’t expire, and flexible options to earn tier status through both Tier Qualifying Points (TQPs) and qualifying flights. These changes are just adding new perks to various tiers. The highest status will be Platinum, which will come with an Unlimited Companion Pass. Southwest Airlines As for Silver and Gold tiers, A-List will become Silver and A-List Preferred will become Gold. Additionally, Members will no longer have to wait until reaching a new tier to receive rewards, because Southwest is adding Milestone Rewards along a Member’s tier journey. Before Members reach Silver status, they’ll be able to select rewards like Rapid Rewards points or seat certificates, and between Gold and Platinum tiers, Members can qualify to receive three Companion Pass trips. Southwest Airplanes Every Rapid Rewards Credit Cardmember, including Plus Cardmembers, will also earn one TQP for every dollar spent on purchases with a Rapid Rewards Credit Card from Chase, giving cardmembers a faster way to earn status. As for how you use your Rapid Rewards points, beginning in Spring 2027, Members will be able to earn and redeem Rapid Rewards points for travel through new international airline loyalty partnerships, which will begin with Icelandair, China Airlines, and Etihad Airways. Later on in 2027, Rapid Rewards Members will also be able to use points for seat selection on Southwest-operated flights, including Extra Legroom and Preferred seats. However, beginning this year, in November 2026, Members can redeem Rapid Rewards points for rental cars across all participating car rental partners directly through the Southwest rental cars website. Southwest Planes at Orlando International Airport Don’t forget that the new Southwest Icon Lounge network, in partnership with Chase, is arriving in late 2027, which will be another great perk for Cardmembers. In Fall 2027, Southwest will also begin to have some of the fastest wifi in the sky, thanks to Starlink, which will be free for Rapid Rewards members. 17. Disney World is already making plans for 2027, and one of our favorite EPCOT festivals is getting some BIG changes! The EPCOT International Festival of the Arts is returning in 2027, bringing back the incredible food, Disney artwork, Broadway performances, and interactive experiences that have made this festival a favorite among Disney fans. Festival of the Arts! While we’re still waiting for the full menus and entertainment schedules, Disney has confirmed some interesting changes for next year’s event. One gives us MORE time to enjoy the festival, another puts a popular Disney trading card game in the spotlight, and the third makes us ask questions about our beloved Food Studios. Let’s take a look at what’s changing! The Festival Is Getting LONGER! We’ll start with some good news, because this is a change we’re happy to see! Disney has confirmed that the 2027 EPCOT International Festival of the Arts will run from January 15th through March 1st, 2027. That’s a pretty significant extension compared with the 2026 festival, which ran from January 16th through February 23rd. In fact, we’re getting an entire additional week! The 2026 festival lasted 39 days, while the 2027 event will run for 46 days. For a festival that has traditionally had one of the shortest runs on EPCOT’s calendar, that’s a welcome change. 2026 EPCOT International Festival of the Arts Festival of the Arts has always been one of those events where we wish we had a little more time. Between trying all the food, browsing the artwork, meeting Disney artists, and catching performances, it’s easy to fill an entire day without making it through everything. The visiting artists and Broadway performers change throughout the event, so you often get something different on a return trip. An extra week also gives guests planning late-February Disney World vacations a better chance to catch the festival before it disappears for another year. Disney on Broadway concert series Disney Lorcana Is Taking Center Stage If you visited the 2026 Festival of the Arts, you probably noticed Disney Lorcana making its presence known. The popular Disney trading card game brought several interactive experiences to EPCOT, giving fans opportunities to participate in special activities and collect exclusive merchandise. For 2027, Disney is taking that relationship a step further. Found Stitch! The festival’s official name is now EPCOT International Festival of the Arts Presented by Disney Lorcana Trading Card Game. That’s a pretty prominent position for a game that only made its Festival of the Arts debut in 2026! Disney has also confirmed the return of several Lorcana experiences, including the Ink & Find Scavenger Hunt, Collection Quest, and Illumineer’s Lounge. The festival will also offer exclusive promotional items and gifts with purchase. Disney Lorcana Quest Book And there’s another reason collectors might want to pay attention. During D23 in 2026, Disney announced that Figment will appear on a Disney Lorcana trading card for the first time, with an exclusive EPCOT card planned for the festival. Given Figment’s popularity among Festival of the Arts fans, we think that collectible could attract serious attention. Figment Artist Popcorn Bucket We’re curious to see how much of the festival’s merchandise and activities will revolve around Lorcana this year. The partnership makes sense. Festival of the Arts celebrates Disney artwork and creativity, and Lorcana centers on collecting beautifully illustrated Disney characters. Still, it’s a noticeable shift for an event that has traditionally focused on Disney artists, food, and Broadway entertainment. Whether you’re a dedicated Lorcana collector or just want to admire the artwork without learning the rules of a trading card game, it’ll be interesting to see how Disney weaves the partnership into the overall festival experience. Breea loves Lorcana! Wait…Are We Getting FEWER Food Studios? Now, THIS is the announcement that caught our attention. Disney has confirmed that the 2027 Festival of the Arts will feature 19 Food Studios throughout EPCOT. That might sound like plenty of food, and it is! But here’s why we’re raising an eyebrow. In 2026, Disney advertised more than 20 Food Studios, along with additional locations serving festival-exclusive food and drinks. Full Spread at Figment’s Imagination Station For 2027, the official announcement specifically mentions 19. So, are we losing some of our favorite festival booths? It’s possible, but we don’t have enough information to say for certain. Disney hasn’t released the complete 2027 Food Studio lineup or menus, and the difference could involve how certain food locations are being counted. Still, it’s something we’ll be watching. Hazelnut Praline Boller The Food Studios are arguably one of the biggest reasons to visit Festival of the Arts. Unlike the Food & Wine Festival, which tends to emphasize international flavors, Festival of the Arts gives Disney’s culinary teams a chance to get creative with presentation. We’re talking dishes that look like miniature paintings, desserts that belong in an art gallery, and food combinations that occasionally make us wonder what was happening in the test kitchen. Sometimes those experiments become our favorites! Butterfly Blue We’ll have to wait for the official Foodie Guide to know whether we’re losing any booths, which favorites are returning, and what new dishes Disney has planned. We’re hoping the smaller announced number doesn’t mean fewer opportunities to eat our way around EPCOT. Because when it comes to festival food, we’re not particularly interested in practicing restraint. Disney on Broadway Is Coming Back! Fortunately, some of our favorite Festival of the Arts traditions aren’t going anywhere. Disney has confirmed that the DISNEY ON BROADWAY Concert Series will return to the America Gardens Theatre in EPCOT’s American Adventure pavilion. These performances bring Broadway stars to EPCOT to perform songs from Disney’s stage productions, including favorites from The Lion King, Aladdin, and Beauty and the Beast. It’s one of the festival’s highlights, especially if you love musical theater. Aladdin during the Broadway Concert Series in EPCOT The complete 2027 performer schedule hasn’t been announced yet, but Disney has confirmed that concerts will take place several times each evening. The performances are included with regular EPCOT admission, with first-come, first-served seating. And if you prefer having a guaranteed seat instead of spending your evening waiting in line, Disney has also confirmed that DISNEY ON BROADWAY Dining Packages will return. These packages pair a meal at a participating EPCOT restaurant with guaranteed seating at a concert later that day. Disney hasn’t announced the participating restaurants, prices, or booking dates for 2027, so we’re still watching those details. Adam Jacobs and Isabelle McCalla — Disney on Broadway 2026 Your Favorite Festival Traditions Are Returning While the dates, Lorcana partnership, and Food Studio count are the biggest changes we’ve spotted, Disney has also confirmed several returning festival experiences. And we’re glad to see some familiar favorites on the list! Animation Academy will return, allowing guests to learn how to draw Disney characters with guidance from an animator. The Expression Section: A Paint-by-Number Mural is also returning, letting guests contribute to a massive collaborative painting. Disney has also confirmed the return of Artful Photo Ops, where guests can step inside scenes inspired by famous works of art. Expression Section: Which mural will YOU help paint? Throughout the festival, guests can expect to see chalk artists creating artwork, live demonstrations featuring Disney character paintings, and musical performances. And, of course, Disney artists will showcase their work throughout EPCOT. The complete artist appearance schedule hasn’t been released, but Disney says additional information about participating artists, dates, and locations will be available on its website. Darren Wilson with his Nightmare Before Christmas piece in 2025 Festival-exclusive merchandise is also returning, although we haven’t seen the full collection yet. There are still a few experiences from 2026 that we’re waiting to hear more about, including the Wonderful Walk of Colorful Cuisine and Figment’s Brush with the Masters Scavenger Hunt. Both are featured on Disney’s festival website as 2026 highlights, but Disney hasn’t confirmed their 2027 return. We’re hoping they’ll be back! What Else Is Disney Keeping Under Wraps? Even with these announcements, some pretty big pieces are still missing from the 2027 festival picture. We haven’t seen the complete Food Studio lineup, menus, or prices. Disney also hasn’t released the DISNEY ON BROADWAY performer schedule, dining package details, or complete list of visiting artists. And while we know Lorcana will play a significant role, we’re still waiting for more information about the exclusive merchandise and promotional offers. Figment Cereal Treat There’s also the question of whether the 19 announced Food Studios represent a smaller festival food lineup or just a different way of counting participating locations. For now, that’s the detail we’re most curious about. We’re Ready for Another Year of Festival Food! The 2027 EPCOT International Festival of the Arts is already shaping up to be an interesting one. We’re getting a longer festival, a much bigger spotlight on Disney Lorcana, and a Food Studio announcement that has us wondering what menu changes might be coming. Personally, we’re thrilled about the extra week. Festival of the Arts has always felt like it ends just when we’re getting into a good rhythm of eating, browsing artwork, and making excuses to buy another Disney print. But we’ll be keeping a close eye on that Food Studio lineup. Sushi Doughnut The 2027 EPCOT International Festival of the Arts runs January 15th through March 1st, 2027, and we’ll bring you the latest updates as Disney releases more information. 19. We talk a lot about how rainy spring and summer are in Disney World, and how it’s always important to bring a poncho, an umbrella, or both to keep yourself dry. Well, we hope you haven’t packed those away just yet, because you’re about to need them BIG TIME for this winter. Tree of Life in Animal Kingdom El Niño is a weather event that happens every two to seven years, and has to do with weather patterns that have happened throughout the rest of the year. This year, we’re looking at an El Niño weather event that will absolutely affect the United States between December 2026 to February 2027, and it’s looking like it’s about to be a lot rainier than usual. According to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), this year’s El Niño is going to bring wetter-than-average conditions across the southern U.S., from California all the way to Florida, as well as along the Eastern Seaboard. Additionally, warmer-than-average temperatures are expected across the northern U.S., but the drought will fortunately be improving for the majority of the country. In terms of temperatures for Florida, we’re looking at near-normal temperatures, which is a good sign. ©NOAA Ken Graham, director of NOAA’s National Weather Service, said, “While higher chances of rain and snow may bring relief to drought-afflicted areas, too much precipitation on dry soil can fuel destructive flash floods and mudslides. Now is the time for communities and individuals to plan ahead for the upcoming winter.” When it comes to the rain levels expected, we’re looking at wetter-than-average conditions for Florida especially. Now, this likely won’t really mean snow, since we’ll be looking at the same temperatures as normal, which often don’t get below freezing (though Florida absolutely does still get cold!), but you never know! ©NOAA This means that there could be many rainy, wet, cold winter days coming for Disney World, and while we’re big on the idea that any day in Disney World is better than a day elsewhere, despite what the weather may be, wet and cold often isn’t a great mix. You’ll likely want to pack layers, as well as your ponchos and umbrellas, and keeping dry socks in your bag isn’t a bad idea either. Parts of Disney World are known to flood, and wet socks any time aren’t great, but during the winter? Yeah, major no from us. Disney Springs in the rain What really happens when Disney World floods? 20. Disneyland Character and Parade Cast Members are set to stage a major protest just outside the theme park’s gates this weekend in response to unhappiness regarding contract negotiations with Disney and the company’s alleged unwillingness to settle a first contract with the unionized Cast Members. Disneyland Entrance and Train Station The rally, set to take place at 10:0 AM on Saturday, October 17th at the northwest corner of Harbor Blvd. & W. Katella Ave. in Anaheim, is being staged by the group due to claims that “Disney has slow-walked contract talks rather than negotiating a fair agreement.” The group claims that while there has been some progress related to health and safety issues, Disney has “proposed eliminating paid parental leave and reducing PTO for these workers” and that “wage proposals have been insultingly low. In the first year of the contract, the company presented a zero percent wage increase – despite a period of high inflation.” Two years ago, the 1,700 Entertainment Cast Members in the Characters and Parades departments voted to form a union with the Actors’ Equity Association, usually known simply as Equity, the 100+-year-old labor union that represents more than 51,000 professional actors and stage managers. Magic Happens parade in Disneyland Equity’s Executive Director Al Vincent Jr. spoke about the rally in a statement, saying, “The message you will hear at our rally is that despite Disney’s actions to date, we remain willing and able to bargain with the company to reach a fair contract for the character and parades workers who are the public face of Disneyland and who make a visit to the park rewarding.” Cast Members in Disneyland Disney hasn’t commented on the rally at the time of writing, but they did provide their own update on the negotiations earlier this month on the Disney Experiences corporate website. It read, “Disneyland Resort values its cast members, offers competitive benefits, and is proud of its long history of working collaboratively with the unions that represent them. We began bargaining with the Actors’ Equity Association in late 2024 and have since participated in more than 50 days of negotiations, most recently on September 9th-10th, 2026. Throughout this process, full-time and part-time cast members in this bargaining unit have continued to receive annual wage increases. In early 2026, cast members received a 4% wage increase and currently earn between $26 and $31.27 per hour, including premiums, depending on their role. As with any newly formed bargaining unit, this process is focused on establishing the initial terms and conditions of employment for cast members transitioning from non-union to union-represented roles. Negotiations are ongoing, and scheduled next for Oct. 27th-28th, 2026, and proposals may evolve as discussions continue.” Sleeping Beauty Castle in Disneyland As labor negotiations continue between Disney and the newly unionized members of Equity, Disneyland Parade and Character Cast Members are set to hold a large rally outside the “Happiest Place on Earth” on October 17th. Stay tuned to DFB for more on this ongoing labor story. Join the DFB Newsletter to get all the breaking news right in your inbox! Click here to Subscribe! View the full article
  21. There is some BIG news in the world of Disney collaborations today, and it’s about to change the game, especially for sports fans! ©Disney If you’re a big sports fan, you may be familiar with the group Dude Perfect. They started in 2009 as a group of five friends who turned backyard sports challenges into a worldwide phenomenon, and have been growing in popularity ever since. They’re known for their sports and comedy entertainment, and now, they’re partnering with Disney! It was just announced by Disney that they will be partnering with Dude Perfect, combining the company’s beloved sports and comedy entertainment with some of Disney’s biggest franchises. Dude Perfect will develop original content for its own channels inspired by Disney events and franchises, and select Dude Perfect Disney content will then stream on Disney+. ©Disney We already know that some of the collaborations planned over the course of the next year are Super Bowl LXI, the 50th anniversary of Star Wars, and content around Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Doomsday, as well as Avengers-themed content for Dude Perfect’s popular series Overtime. This partnership also gives Disney access to a selection of Dude Perfect’s existing short-form library for distribution across Disney+, ESPN, and Disney’s social platforms. ©Marvel Studios When commenting on the new partnership, Asad Ayaz, Chief Marketing and Brand Officer of The Walt Disney Company, said, “Disney has always been a place where great storytellers come to create, and Dude Perfect brings a distinctive voice and an inventive approach to everything they do. By building on our longstanding relationship, we’re able to give fans even more ways to experience and be part of the Disney stories they love.” ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex As for Dude Perfect, co-founder Garrett Hilbert said, “We’ve been Disney kids forever, from wearing out the VHS tape of The Lion King to making core memories as a family at Disney World. Disney taught us to go big and dream, and that has shaped everything we’ve built. Now, we get to make more of those dreams come to life with the Disney team, and we can’t wait to bring our fans along for the ride.” This isn’t the first time Dude Perfect has interacted with Disney as a channel, either. 22. November 2026 is shaping up to be a MAJOR month for the Walt Disney Company, and I’m pretty excited for it, which means you should be too! Holiday decor The holiday season — my personal favorite time of the year at the company’s theme parks — is set to begin in earnest across both the Disney World and Disneyland resorts, while some major properties are set to debut both in theaters AND on Disney+ in November! Let’s take a look! Hexed Releases November 25th Disney Animation Studios’ latest film Hexed is set to release on November 25th. The film, which stars Hailee Steinfeld and Rashida Jones, revolves around “an impulsive and unconventional teenage girl named Billie (Steinfeld) who discovers secret magical abilities which, once unleashed, hurtle her into a spectacle-filled journey out of suburbia and into a vast witch realm called Hexe. Forced to team up with her cautious mother, Alice (Jones), they uncover family mysteries that could change the world of witches forever.” A closer look at our main characters Hexed is directed by Fawn Veerasunthorn and Jason Hand, co-directed by Josie Trinidad, and produced by Roy Conli and Yvett Merino. In addition to Steinfeld and Jones, the film stars Tracey Ullman as the enchanted feather quill pen Ms. Quill, and Stephen Fry as the magical journal Elias Quire. ©Disney Percy Jackson and the Olympians Season 3 Debuts on Disney+ on November 20th Moving from the big screen to the small (or whatever size one chooses to stream on), the third season of the popular Disney+ series is set to debut on November 20th. Based on The Titan’s Curse — the third installment of the book series by Rick Riordan — season 3 “finds Percy Jackson (Walker Scobell) facing a quest unlike any other. Annabeth Chase (Leah Sava Jeffries) has suddenly gone missing, a legendary goddess is in danger, and new demigods are discovering their identities.” The Percy Jackson panel at D23 Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party Begins November 8th November 8th will see the 2026 debut of the ever-popular Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party. As usual, the event will offer special presentations including Mickey’s Most Merriest Celebration, Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade, Minnie’s Wonderful Christmastime Fireworks, Club Tinsel, and Disney Junior Jingle Jam. Guests will also have access to Magic Kingdom attractions (some with holiday overlays), photo opportunities with characters, exclusive treats, and tasty cookie and cocoa spots offering complimentary snacks and drinks to enjoy throughout the party! Mickey and Minnie in Mickey’s Most Merriest Celebration The attractions with holiday overlays include: Space Mountain will feature “high-energy holiday tunes and festive interior lighting.” The Tomorrowland Speedway transforms into Tomorrowland Speedway Race, which is “filled with thousands of lights, stylized décor and a fun, futuristic holiday soundtrack.” The Mad Tea Party becomes a “wild and wacky Christmas party––where you can spin your teacup to one of 4 holiday combos of lights and music.” Jungle Cruise transforms into the Jingle Cruise, a version of the classic “packed with holiday-themed puns.” Of note, the Jingle Cruise can be enjoyed during the party or all day long at the Magic Kingdom. Monsters, Inc. Laugh Floor puts “some ‘ha ha ha’ in their ‘ho ho ho’ with a seasonal show.” Tomorrowland Speedway overlay Further November dates include the 9th, 12th, 13th, 15th, 17th, 19th, 20th, 24th, 25th, 27th and 29th. Jollywood Nights Kicks Off November 7th Meanwhile, Disney World’s OTHER ticketed Christmas event kicks off November 7th. The event, which takes place from 7:30 PM to 12:30 AM on select nights through January 5th, offers the Disney Holidays in Hollywood and Nightmare Before Christmas shows, Disney characters sporting their Christmas best — including Baloo and King Louie from TaleSpin, Max Goof as Powerline, Phineas and Ferb. Chip ‘n’ Dale from Chip ‘n Dale: Rescue Rangers, and Stitch dressed as Santa –the return of the Twilight Soirée at the Tip Top Club at the Tower of Terror, the Glisten! ice skating show, Jazzy Holidays at the Hollywood Brown Derby, decor and merchandise featuring Ollie the Gingerbread Man, and the Jingle Bell, Jingle BAM! nighttime spectacular. Following the November 7th kickoff, further dates during the month include the 14th, 16th, 21st, 23rd, and 28th. Jollywood Nights Festival of the Holidays begins on November 27th While the 2026 International Food & Wine Festival is scheduled to end on November 21st, EPCOT won’t be festival-free for long. Only about a week until the 2026 International Festival of the Holidays launches on Black Friday, November 27th. One of the most beloved parts of the Festival of the Holidays is the Candlelight Processional. A longtime Disney tradition, the nightly event features celebrity narrators reading the Biblical Christmas story, joined by a 51-piece orchestra, the Voices of Liberty, and a choir of more than 150 Disney Cast Members and community singers. Candlelight Processional Holidays at the Disneyland Resort start on November 13th Holiday cheer isn’t limited to the East Coast, as Christmas celebrations come to the “Happiest Place on Earth” starting on November 13th. Offerings at Disneyland include Disney characters in their Christmas best, the Christmas Fantasy Parade, the Believe… in Holiday Magic fireworks, wintertime enchantment of Cinderella Castle, and Holiday ride overlays of “it’s a small world” and, of course, Haunted Mansion Holiday. Haunted Mansion Holiday Overlay Meanwhile, California Adventure offers World of Color – Season of Light, and a pair of Holiday overlays in Cars Land (Luigi’s Joy to the Whirl and Mater’s Jingle Jamboree). The park is also home to the Festival of Holidays, which offers a diverse variety of flavorful food and beverages, a daily rotation of live entertainment, and unique festival merchandise. California Adventure Christmas Tree Disney is rolling out some major events and premieres in November as the company barrels headlong into the holiday season and the end of the year. Stay tuned to DFB for more on Disney’s major announcements. And remember, once the 2026 Holiday Season ends, Disney World is set to jump right into a HUGE 2027. Heads Up! 23. The fireworks are over, the crowds have cleared out, and suddenly it’s just you, a dimly lit path, and something rustling in the bushes. Welcome to Disney World after dark! EPCOT Let’s be honest, the Most Magical Place on Earth can be straight-up creepy sometimes. Between the scary villains, the 999 happy haunts in the Haunted Mansion, and a certain hotel elevator with a habit of dropping people into the Twilight Zone, there are some things about the parks that are surprisingly spooky. But the rides are only part of it. The parks and resorts at night are a completely different vibe than they are during the daytime, and if you find yourself out and about after sunset, there are some places in Disney World that you may not want to walk alone. Here are five of them! Pathways from the Parks to the Hotels Sure, they’re convenient, but the walking paths between the parks and the hotels (like the one from Magic Kingdom to the Grand Floridian, or the one from Hollywood Studios to the EPCOT resort area) can be downright creepy at night! Even with the lights, they can get pretty dark, and they’re eerily quiet because they’re (quite literally!) the paths less traveled. Plus, you’re pretty far away from other guests while you’re making the trek, and the Hollywood Studios path runs for more than a mile if you follow it all the way to EPCOT. Grand Floridian Walkway Of course, these paths are usually quite safe. We just let the dark and quiet get to our heads! But if you’d feel better staying with the crowds, there are more popular ways to get back to your hotel. Leaving Hollywood Studios, you can take the Friendship Boats to the Swan and Dolphin, the Yacht and Beach Club, or the BoardWalk. (The Skyliner will also get you to EPCOT’s International Gateway, but you’ll have to transfer at Caribbean Beach.) And if you’re exiting Magic Kingdom, just hop on the resort monorail or the boat to the Grand Floridian. The boat is usually not too busy, and depending on where your room is, the dock might actually be a shorter walk than the monorail station in the main building. A Definitive Ranking of EVERY Disney World Hotel! Walkway at the Swan Hotel Fantasyland This may seem like an odd choice, but allow us to explain! We sometimes avoid walking through Fantasyland at night simply because it feels a little precarious. Parts of this land are SO DARK at night that it’s hard to see the ground where you’re walking. Pair that with the noise from the fireworks, the crowds, and the fact that everything is smushed close together, and you’ve got a recipe for bumping into other people (or getting run over by strollers and ECVs). Fantasyland in Magic Kingdom And Magic Kingdom nights are busier than they used to be! Happily Ever After draws a huge crowd to Cinderella Castle, and the Disney Starlight: Dream the Night Away parade now steps off on most nights without a ticketed party, usually twice. Meanwhile, construction walls for Piston Peak National Park have closed off the Frontierland boardwalk, so there’s less room to spread out on that side of the park. Magic Kingdom at night We realize it’s pretty unrealistic to expect that you’ll never walk through Fantasyland at night. If you’re heading this way, just take extra care to be aware of your surroundings. Fantasyland is at its darkest and most chaotic around fireworks time, so if you can, plan your visit for earlier or later in the evening. Showtimes shift with the season, so check the My Disney Experience app before you go. Former Cast Member Reveals the SECRET Way to Get the BEST Magic Kingdom Fireworks View Fantasyland at night Value Resorts Disney World’s value hotels are known for their larger-than-life theming, and it’s really cute and whimsical during the day. But at night…it can get a little unsettling. Have you ever walked by the giant Woody at All-Star Movies after dark? He’s more than two stories tall, and his eyes have an aura of foreboding, if you ask us. The same goes for the gigantic jack-in-the-box over in the resort’s Fantasia section. We’re instantly uncomfortable there. He scares us! If the enormous set pieces creep you out (or your kiddos, for that matter), make sure to explore your resort for the first time during the day. That’ll give you some level of comfort before you see it all at night. And if that doesn’t help, try walking around the back side of the buildings instead. There’s usually less theming back there! The BIG Problem With Disney World’s Value Resorts All-Star Movies Fort Wilderness Trails If you’ve ever been to Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground, you know that this resort is a bit more rustic than the others on Disney property. And what comes along with rustic charm? Yep, wildlife. We’ve encountered our fair share of wild animals while out on walks at Fort Wilderness, and let us just tell you, those wild turkeys won’t move for ANYTHING. The odds are not in your favor if you’re going solo up against a flock of wild turkeys after dark. Fort Wilderness Entrance For those staying at Fort Wilderness, we recommend doing your walks early in the morning or around sunset. (We know that walking in the middle of the day in the Florida heat is a recipe for disaster.) And if you decide to mosey around the campground at night, maybe take someone with you…ya know, for backup in the battle with the turkeys. The 4 BEST Disney World Hotels for 2027 (and 2 to AVOID Completely) Hoop Dee Doo Musical Revue World Showcase Finally, let’s talk about World Showcase. This is an area that you want to avoid at night for a completely different reason. Why? Well, because in the evening, locals come to eat dinner, guests hop over from other parks, and there are usually quite a few inebriated adults milling about after a day of “drinking around the world.” In general, it gets CROWDED. World Showcase After dark, it’s often a challenge to maneuver through the pavilions due to the hordes of guests. It doesn’t help that there are typically people lined up for concerts at the America Gardens Theatre in front of The American Adventure (hello, Eat to the Beat during the Food & Wine Festival!) or staking out their fireworks spots around the lagoon. Epcot So when you visit EPCOT, it might be a good idea to hit up World Showcase midday. Try to avoid it during the dinner rush, and then come back a little while before the fireworks and claim your spot in World Showcase Plaza at the front of the lagoon. (Trust us, it’s one of the best places to watch Luminous The Symphony of Us!) The Ultimate Guide to Drinking Around the World in EPCOT: Secret Rules, Hidden Gems, and Insider Tips Crowds in Germany Basically, just pay attention to your surroundings when you’re out and about at night, even in Disney World. It’s best to travel in groups, especially when there’s an oversized jack-in-the-box lurking around the corner! Keep following DFB for all the tips on how to best conquer the parks during your next vacation.
