We don’t always eat our way around Disney World…okay, yeah, we do. We ALWAYS eat our way around Disney World, and that means this week, we did even MORE eating. We got to check out a newly-reopened EPCOT Food & Wine Festival booth, enjoyed a delicious flatbread at what is probably one of our least favorite Magic Kingdom restaurants (hey, sometimes, those restaurants surprise us!), and were disappointed when one of our favorite meals in Disney’s Hollywood Studios changed. Buffalo Chicken Flatbread at Pinocchio Village Haus We also kept a close eye on Disney World restaurants to spot any menu changes, so let’s see what menu updates we discovered this week. Spoiler alert: one Disney Springs restaurant just got a bit pricier. When it comes to dining at Disney World, you’ve got a TON of options. Would you believe us if we told you that a lot of the best options aren’t in the parks themselves? It’s true! Flatlands Bar & Grill We recently stopped by Flatlands Bar & Grill at Flamingo Crossings, located super close to Disney World but technically outside of the parks and hotel bubble, to see what was cookin’, and now we’re bringing you our FULL review. Is it worth a stop on your next trip to the Most Magical Place on Earth, especially since you can’t take a Disney bus or other mode of transportation to get there? We’re finding out! Atmosphere This is a brand new restaurant that opens soon at Flamingo Crossings, which is less than 10 minutes from Disney World. It’s located directly across from Simply Capri and is the latest creation from Nick Valenti, owner of Simply Capri and partner in Vivoli Il Gelato’s U.S. locations. A look outside! The inspiration behind the new concept is the flatlands of Florida and the different groups of people who have immigrated there. It’s meant to have a more intimate feel and not be as large as Simply Capri. However, the bar is massive, with plenty of space for seating along the gorgeous wooden counter to watch the bartenders in action. We’re here! As for the outside, it makes you feel like you’re in someone’s upscale backyard. Nick Valenti, the owner of Flatlands Bar & Grill, told us that he wants this restaurant to be an “everyday experience” with a touch of upscale offerings. That way it can be a Friday night destination or a spot where people come to celebrate special events. Look at that design! But enough about the restaurant — what’s on the menu here?! Menu Here you can find food and drinks sourced from local breweries, along with produce and beef from quality providers throughout the United States. It serves us fresh fish, steaks, gelato, “the best burger in Florida,” and other dishes made with locally sourced ingredients. Menu Don’t worry — there are plenty of drinks on the menu as well! Drink Menu And now, onto the main event — the food! Drinks To drink, we picked up the Cherry Sour, which is made with Amaretto Disaronno, Aperol, Old Forester 86 Bourbon, fresh lemon juice, and Amarena cherry syrup. It’ll cost you $16. We didn’t find it extremely sour, but we could see how someone who’s a little bit more sensitive to those kinds of tones would think it’s a sour drink. Cherry Sour We will warn you this one’s kind of dangerous; it doesn’t taste like alcohol. Instead, it tastes like a cherry limeade with more emphasis on the cherry, but with a little bit of a kick to it. We think the sour tones come from the foam that sits on top of the drink. If you’re more into fruity drinks and sour stuff, this is something you’ll definitely lean towards on the menu. That foam on top is the most sour! We also grabbed the Orange Blossom Collins. This will cost you $18 and is made with Gunpowder Irish Citrus Gin, Dry Curacao, Orange Blossom & Honey Syrup, and Grapefruit Soda. Orange Blossom Collins This drink is so refreshing it’s not even funny. It’s giving a mix of semi-sweet lemonade mixed with semi-sweet orange juice in the best way. This is another drink that’s dangerous because you just can’t really tell there’s alcohol in it. You get a little bit of a kick on that initial sip, but it’s hard to tell if that’s the gin or the grapefruit soda. The honey and orange notes give this a sweeter taste, but it’s balanced with the grapefruit soda, which makes it a little bit more bitter and tart. Another winner, in our book! This one is a winner! The Sugar Cane Cooler will cost you $14 and is Mint-infused Bacardi Rum & Cachaça, Mandarin Pureé, Demerara Syrup, cold pressed Lime juice. Sugar Cane Cooler This one’s probably the best drink we had here! The waiter told us that it was popular amongst the people who are coming here, and we can see why! Interestingly, it tastes like less tangy pineapple juice, or like a less citrusy orange juice. Yet another dangerous drink where you can’t really tell there’s alcohol in it. Delicious! Each sip has a little bit of mintiness to it, and the aroma adds to it as well if you keep the mint leaves in. The waiter warned us that it was going to be too sweet, but it really isn’t — it has the right sweetness for a fruity drink, so if those are your style of drinks, we think it’s a must-have. Eats First up, we grabbed the Mini Lobster Rolls, which are $27 and made with Butter-poached Maine lobster, spicy mayo, and toasted brioche. Mini Lobster Rolls This is WORLDS better than the lobster roll in EPCOT. Every bite of these is so flavourful and soft and fluffy. The lobster is clearly the standout flavor with this dish, as rich as it is, but the toasted brioche bun brings it all together. The spicy mayo gives it a little bit of a kick, while the arugula gives it a more earthy flavor and tone. Overall, this is mostly soft thanks to the brioche and lobster; however, there is a little bit of a firmer texture to the bite because the bun is toasted, which we loved. This is one of our new favorites! Meanwhile, the Cornish Hen is a herb-roasted Cornish hen, Yukon Gold whipped potatoes, grilled asparagus, natural jus, grilled ciabatta, and fresh herbs, and will cost you $36. Cornish Hen If you’re looking at this and you think it gives Thanksgiving vibes, you are 100% right! This really does taste like a Thanksgiving dish, from the taste of the hen to the seasonal vegetables to the sauce. The hen is cooked very well — it’s firm, but not hard to chew. The vegetables are a great bonus on the side, but what really brings this whole thing together is the sauce. It’s very rich in flavor, and it’s savory, like an earthier-toned gravy. An amazing dish! The potatoes that this dish comes with are absolutely delicious. They’re very different here than anywhere else you’ll go. The chef grills them in the sauce, then tosses them in the pan to give the outside a darker tone. They’re moist, soft, and SO flavorful. You do have to maneuver around a lot of bones in this dish, but overall this was a 10/10 for us. We can’t recommend this enough! We also grabbed the 22 oz Prime Ribeye, which will cost $68 and is served with your choice of house sauce. 22 oz Prime Ribeye Come hungry if you’re getting the prime ribeye because it is a big piece of meat! We chose to get ours medium-well, which did come out pretty pink. We grabbed the truffle fries as our side, and got chimichurri as our sauce. The ribeye is very juicy, so if you’re looking for a piece of meat that just has flavour to it, this is your go-to. It’s chewy but not overly so, and it also has that somewhat more charred flavor to pair with the juiciness. It’s a BIG piece! This was another item that was just recommended to us by a bunch of waiters and waitresses. Again, we can see why! They don’t overdo the truffle fries, which we appreciated. They taste like normal French Fries with a little bit of emphasis on the flavor, so if you’re looking for a LOT of flavor, you may find these lacking a bit. These truffle fries aren’t too overpowering For dessert, we grabbed the Chocolate Chip Cookie for $17, which is served with Vanilla Ice Cream, shaved almonds, and caramel sauce. Chocolate Chip Cookie If you’re a sucker for warm baked goods that melt in your mouth, this is calling your name. The chocolate is melted inside the cookie, and the ice cream soaks into the cookie as well. It’s nothing crazy unique, but it’s a great dessert option! Nosh or Not This Disney World restaurant is a must-visit if… You’re looking for a restaurant with a fantastic menu. We really didn’t encounter a single bad thing on this menu, which leads us to believe that it’s practically a win all around. You want great drinks to pair with your incredible meal. We were also insanely impressed with each of the drinks we got to try here, and feel all of them are going to be great options, as long as you know what you’re looking for. You’re looking for a spot that will feel intimate without feeling too cramped. The space this restaurant takes up means that you feel like you’re able to have great conversations with your group without yelling over the people around you, but you also don’t feel like you’re right up next to the table near you. You should skip this Disney World spot if… You’re not willing to travel outside of the Disney bubble. Yes, this spot is super close to Disney World, but you won’t be able to take a Disney bus or other mode of transportation to get there, maybe making it harder to get there. You’ve got pickier kiddos or adults in your group. The menu isn’t wildly expansive, so if you’re looking for something that will appeal to a large group, or a pickier group, this may not be the best place. You want a spot that doesn’t need a reservation. While it’s possible to be able to walk up and grab a table, reservations are strongly recommended, and that means that it’s not easy to eat without planning ahead. Overall We think this restaurant is a MAJOR win, and we cannot WAIT for it to officially open on September 21st. We think it’s going to be a big hit, and personally, if you’ve driven your own car or you’re open to taking a rideshare, we think it’s absolutely worth a visit. In the meantime, we’ll be on the lookout for more restaurant updates from Disney World and beyond. Make sure you stay tuned to the Disney Food Blog for the latest Disney news and more! Things are ALWAYS changing in Disney World! Lately, it feels like the parks are entirely new places thanks to upcoming projects like Villains Land, Piston Peak, Monsters Inc. Land, and more, and while that sometimes can be overwhelming, we’re here to help you navigate it all. Expedition Everest Each week, it feels like Disney is constantly dropping new information, details, and more! That’s why we like to do a weekly wrap-up of the biggest news so you don’t miss a single thing. We got a TON of announcements this week, so get ready. This week’s news takes us into multiple different Disney World parks, including the water parks! Not only that, we also got a major shakeup in the world of Disney technology. Water Park Pass is BACK! If you’ve wanted to visit Disney’s water parks, Blizzard Beach and/or Typhoon Lagoon multiple times, but don’t want to pay an arm and a leg each time, this returning deal is FOR YOU! Disney has brought back their seasonal water park pass for just $89 plus tax (0r $83 for kids 3-9). It’s available to be used up until May 15th, 2027, and you can start using it RIGHT NOW! Typhoon Lagoon There are a few blockout dates to keep in mind, however: February 19th to 21st and March 20th to 28th, 2027, which is peak spring break season. This pass gives you access to both water parks, if they’re both open, or to whichever one is open at the time of your visit. $89 Season Pass Is BACK at Disney World, and We’ve Got All the Details! The Disney Play App is No More We’ve got some bad news if you loved the Play Disney Parks app. As of September 16th, the app has been discontinued. If you search for Play Disney Parks in the App Store or on Google Play, you won’t find it. While we did find the web page for the app on the Disney World website and in My Disney Experience, the download links no longer work. @Disney The app is still showing up on phones that have downloaded it, but if you click on its icon, you’ll get a message letting you know that the app is no longer available. Most of the games on the app aren’t working anymore, but as for the Star Wars Bounty Hunters game, it still seems to be active. Disney has not yet explained how the game has changed. CONFIRMED: This Disney App Has Gone Away For Good The Expedition Everest Single Rider Line Will Soon Be No More As of September 21st, the single rider line option at Expedition Everest will go away forever. However, this didn’t come as a huge surprise since Disney started changing the way the ride loaded recently. Previously, when you reached the end of the line, Cast Members would assign you a row and then have single riders fill the gap. However, Disney started experimenting with pre-sorting guests in the final section of the queue into even and odd groups, allowing ride vehicles to be loaded more efficiently. This meant that fewer single riders were getting called, and the single rider line began moving slower. Everest Single Rider Line Disney did stress that the single rider option at other select rides still offers a useful tool to help Cast Members fill the remaining seats in ride vehicles that aren’t occupied, so it will remain in place at other attractions. BREAKING: Disney World To End Expedition Everest Single Rider Line Wow! Did you get all of that? It was a busy week (just like any other), and we are so excited for what’s ahead. Target’s Disney merchandise lineup this September is operating completely randomly, bouncing from pumpkin-covered Disney Princess clothes to Mickey and Minnie kitchenware to a Rapunzel accessory set without even pretending there’s a connecting thread. Target And you know what? Fine. Sometimes the best shopping lists are just four things that made us stop scrolling and say, “Wait, Target has THAT?” So, in no particular order and with no attempt whatsoever to make these things make sense together, here are four Disney finds worth checking out at Target this September. DISCLOSURE: This post may contain affiliate links, meaning when you click the links and make a purchase, we receive a commission. There is absolutely no theme to this list. We checked. Women’s Disney Princess Pumpkin Grid Cropped Graphic T-Shirt Disney Princesses, but make it pumpkin season. This cropped graphic tee features a grid of Disney Princess-inspired pumpkins, which is exactly the kind of oddly specific Halloween merchandise we enjoy finding in September. ©Target It gives you enough Disney to wear into the parks, enough Halloween to justify buying it immediately, and it’s considerably easier to style than some of the aggressively orange seasonal shirts that tend to emerge this time of year. Pair it with jeans, shorts, or a skirt and congratulations, you have officially entered Disney Halloween Outfit Territory without needing to wear actual mouse ears to Target. view ON Target Women’s Disney Mickey Head Pumpkin Oversized Fleece Crew Sweatshirt Meanwhile, for everyone who sees September 1st on the calendar and immediately decides it is sweater weather despite the thermometer’s objections, we found this. The oversized fleece crew sweatshirt features a Mickey pumpkin design, giving you a very Disney version of the classic fall sweatshirt. ©Target And yes, depending on where you live, wearing fleece in September may be an act of pure optimism. Florida certainly has thoughts. Still, chilly airplanes, aggressively air-conditioned restaurants, and eventually actual fall weather all exist. We can justify this. view ON Target Trend Setters Disney Mickey & Minnie Mouse in Florida Morphing Mug The Mickey and Minnie Mouse in Florida Morphing Mug uses heat-sensitive technology, so the design changes when you add a hot drink. So, your morning coffee gets a tiny Disney special effect. ©Target It’s especially fun for Disney World fans who want something park-adjacent for their kitchen without adding yet another enormous souvenir mug to the cabinet. Although, judging by several DFB staff kitchens, the phrase “too many Disney mugs” remains entirely theoretical. Bonus points if you fill it with coffee while planning your next Disney trip and staring at hotel prices. view ON Target Disney Princess Rapunzel Accessory Set And now we take a sharp left turn into Tangled. The Disney Princess Rapunzel Accessory Set is the wild card of this list, but if you’ve got a Rapunzel fan in your house, this could be a fun little surprise. ©Target It’s also the sort of thing that can come in handy for Halloween costumes, dress-up days, Disney trips, or a Tuesday afternoon when someone has simply decided they need to look more like the lost princess of Corona. We support dramatic accessorizing. view ON Target Is this the most cohesive collection of Disney merchandise we’ve ever assembled? No. Target’s Disney section is always a bit of a treasure hunt, and right now you can find everything from Mickey pumpkin sweatshirts to heat-changing mugs to full Rapunzel accessories without making a trip anywhere near Disney property. We’re always on the hunt for the latest and greatest Disney souvenirs and essentials, so don’t forget to stay tuned to the Disney Food Blog for more! View the full article

Spooky season is in full swing in Disney World, which means exclusive merch, fun decor, and of course, themed food and drinks. Spooky Spritz Well, we recently stopped by Disney Springs to try a new spooky drink, and it’s time to see if you need to add it to your list this Halloween season. On our last trip to Disney Springs, we stopped by The Basket at Wine Bar George to snag the Spooky Spritz for $20. This is made with rum, Aperol, and ginger beer. Spooky Spritz This was a very fun Halloween drink that even turns from orange to black in a very spooky fashion. Although a word of warning: the black sugar on the rim that changes the colors will stain your hands if it runs down the cup. If you are a fan of ginger beer, you will LOVE this drink. That flavor is super prominent, though, so we would suggest avoiding this drink if you don’t enjoy it. The rum is present as well, but really feels like an accompaniment to the ginger beer. Spooky Spritz Overall, this is very tasty! It is spicy and bold without going over the top, and the alcohol flavor is not very strong. If you are looking for a fun and whimsical drink to try this spooky season, this one is a solid option. It’s changing color! We will continue to bring you food reviews from Disney World and beyond. The PATIKIL Plastic Tray 2-Pack solves one of the most common Food & Wine struggles: sharing. Festival portions are designed for sampling, which usually means splitting dishes with your travel companions on the go, often while standing. These lightweight, reusable trays give you a stable surface to divide up dumplings, empanadas, or dessert bites without balancing everything on a flimsy paper boat, and they wipe clean in seconds for the next booth. view ON AMAZON We love this waist fan to keep us cool on the go! It worked great for us! The AMKEN Waist Fan is the hands-free cooling solution you didn’t know you needed for a Florida festival day. The SongTeller Hotel in Nashville just opened, and we were blown away by the beauty, design, detail, and love poured into this hotel. Sister Suite This space was created by Dolly Parton as a love letter to music and the city of Nashville, and that comes through in every element of the hotel. And today we are taking you along for a full tour of the Sisters Suite! There are many unique room types and suites at the SongTeller Hotel, but the Sisters Suite might just be our favorite. It is inspired by Dolly and her five sisters, and that is reflected in the overall design of the space, starting with a dedicated sitting area perfect for talking and relaxing. We love a room with a sitting area! There are three beds that can each sleep two people, meaning that six people can comfortably stay in this room. There are also curtains that can be drawn around each bed for privacy. Sister Suite There is also a small kitchen including a mini fridge, sink, and lots of cabinets. Lots of storage! Moving on to the bathroom, it has multiple vanities, so many people can be getting ready all together! It also has the most gorgeous purple wallpaper. LOVE this bathroom! This whole room feels like a slumber party dream come true! Now, going over some of the details in the space, there is an adorable chair designed to look like a heel. Obsessed! There is also a beautiful chandelier in the sitting area with all of Dolly and her sisters’ birthstones. Chandelier There is even a side table with all of their names. Dolly and all her sisters’ names You can even spot a photo of Dolly and all her sisters. Dolly with her sisters One of our favorite details has to be the beautiful quotes above each of the beds. We love these beds! We love this space so much! It is a beautiful dedication to Dolly, her sisters, and anyone who stays in this room and shares a lovely experience with those they are with. We will continue to bring you all of the news and updates about the incredible SongTeller Hotel, so stay tuned to Disney Food Blog if you don’t want to miss a thing! It’s no secret that we love the Cake Bake Shop at Disney World. The quick-service bakery offers high-quality sweet treats like cakes, pies, and macarons! Apple Pie Marie Antoinette We tried their brand-new Apple Crumble Cake when it was released and loved it, so when we heard Cake Bake added two new apple crumble treats, we had to run over and try them! The Apple Crumble Pie Slice is $15 at the Cake Bake Shop Bakery. It’s made with Granny Smith apples, cinnamon, orange zest, all-butter pie crust, and cinnamon butter crumble. This apple pie features twelve Granny Smith apples and was voted Best Apple Pie by RTV6, so we had high hopes. Apple Crumble Pie Slice This pie is packed with crunchy, sweet apples coated in cinnamon sugar, with plenty of apple flavor in every bite. The crust is buttery soft, and the oat crumble adds crunch. We couldn’t taste any orange zest, so don’t let the menu description scare you. The slice is six inches tall, so it’s a great portion size and easily shareable. Apple Crumble Pie Slice Then, we tried the Apple Pie Marie Antoinette for $15. This is two macaron shells filled with cinnamon caramel buttercream, vanilla pastry cream, apple pie filling, and salted caramel. Apple Pie Marie Antoinette The most prominent flavor is vanilla from the vanilla pastry cream and macaron shells. There’s quite a bit of cinnamon in the cinnamon caramel buttercream, and the salted caramel adds a dark, rich sweetness in every bite. The apple pie filling was sweet with a strong apple flavor, but because it’s only in the middle, you’re not getting apple flavor in every bite like we were expecting. Apple Pie Marie Antoinette If you prefer cake, we tried the Apple Crumble Cake for $22 earlier this month. This is an apple spice cake with real apples and pecans, filled with homemade salted caramel and caramel buttercream, then frosted with caramel buttercream, topped with apple pie crumbles, and drizzled with more salted caramel. Apple Crumble Cake The apple spice cake is super soft and packed with cinnamon and apple chunks. The apple pieces are very soft and don’t add much to the texture, but it brings a strong apple-forward flavor. Pecans are mixed into the batter and add a crunch. The buttercream is super creamy and caramel-flavored to add some sweetness. This tasted just like fall, and if pumpkin isn’t your jam, you’re going to love this! Apple Crumble Cake We’ll be sure to keep you updated on more menu items that hit the Cake Bake Shop Bakery at the BoardWalk. Stay tuned to Disney Food Blog for more Disney World food reviews! Disney World has a brand-new hotel coming in 2027, and while there’s plenty to be excited about, some Disney Vacation Club fans have already found one detail they really don’t love. Disney’s Lakeshore Lodge is set to open on July 1st, 2027, along the shores of Bay Lake near Magic Kingdom. The new resort will have 967 rooms, a lazy river, waterfront Lake Houses, new restaurants, and accommodations inspired by Disney movies including Bambi, Pocahontas, Encanto, Fantasia, and Brother Bear. ©Disney But buried among all those shiny new details is a number that could make Lakeshore Lodge considerably less appealing to some families: Four. The New Studios Only Sleep Four Disney has confirmed that the Bambi-inspired Deluxe Studios at Lakeshore Lodge will sleep a maximum of four adults, with one queen bed and one queen-size pull-down bed. The resort’s standard Resort Studios also max out at four guests, while Duo Studios sleep two. If you’re traveling as a party of five, you’ll need to move up to a one-bedroom villa or one-bedroom Lake House, both of which accommodate five. And Disney fans noticed. On Instagram, @kristin_hatch wrote, “Unfortunately they missed the mark with studios for 4 and one bedrooms with only one bath… Island Tower wins!” Another commenter had an even stronger reaction. @happfilyeverafter wrote, “Love the photos, but I’m disappointed the studios only sleep 4. We were seriously considering buying a direct contract. Not anymore. I guess we’ll wait for the next DVC resort or stick to resale.” ©Disney That’s more than somebody disliking a headboard. For at least one potential buyer, the room capacity was enough to take an entire DVC purchase off the table. Five-Person Studios Already Exist The interesting part is that accommodating five guests in a Disney Vacation Club studio isn’t exactly uncharted territory. Several DVC resorts at Disney World currently have Deluxe Studios that sleep five guests, including: Disney’s BoardWalk Villas Disney’s Beach Club Villas Boulder Ridge Villas at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge The Villas at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa Disney’s Riviera Resort Disney’s Polynesian Villas & Bungalows in the original longhouse Deluxe Studios At many of these resorts, Disney gets that fifth guest into the room by adding a single pull-down bed alongside a queen bed and a queen-size pull-down bed. That makes the Lakeshore Lodge decision especially noticeable. This is Disney’s newest resort. The rooms weren’t inherited from a decades-old floor plan Disney was trying to retrofit. Lakeshore Lodge was designed from scratch, and Disney already has multiple examples of studios that can accommodate five. Polynesian Tower Room Even Boulder Ridge Villas, located right next door at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge, has Deluxe Studios that sleep five. That’s a hard comparison to ignore. Four-Person Studios Aren’t New To be fair, Lakeshore Lodge isn’t breaking some sacred DVC rule. There are several Disney World DVC resorts where studios sleep only four guests. Animal Kingdom Villas and Bay Lake Tower are two examples, and four-person studios can work perfectly well for couples, smaller families, and groups that don’t need that extra sleeping surface. ©Disney Vacation Club | Animal Kingdom Lodge There’s also an obvious argument in Disney’s favor here. Five people in one studio can get cozy VERY quickly. Five suitcases. Five pairs of park shoes. Five people attempting to get ready before Early Entry. One bathroom. May the odds be ever in your favor. A one-bedroom villa offers significantly more breathing room, plus a full kitchen, washer and dryer, and separate living and sleeping areas. At Lakeshore Lodge, the one-bedroom villas will sleep five guests. For plenty of families, that will unquestionably be the better room. The problem is that families of five don’t get to make that choice themselves. That Fifth Guest Could Get Expensive This is where the studio capacity could become a genuine problem. We’re still waiting on the full DVC points charts and pricing information for Lakeshore Lodge, so we don’t yet know exactly what staying in each room category will cost. But studios are generally an important part of the DVC equation because they let members stretch their points farther than larger villas. ©Disney A family of five staying at BoardWalk, Beach Club, Riviera, Grand Floridian, Boulder Ridge, or the Polynesian can choose a studio if squeezing everybody into one room works for them. At Lakeshore Lodge, guest number five automatically sends that family into a larger accommodation. ©Disney Maybe you have three younger kids and don’t mind sharing a smaller room. Maybe you spend 12 hours in the parks and essentially use your hotel to shower and collapse. Maybe you’d rather save those DVC points for a second vacation. At Lakeshore Lodge, none of that matters. Five means one-bedroom. ©Disney And that could be especially frustrating because Lakeshore Lodge otherwise looks designed to court families. There’s a lazy river, recreation, Disney character-inspired rooms, and multiple accommodation types. Yet one of the most accessible DVC-style room categories excludes one of Disney World’s most common traveling groups. Fans Have Other Opinions About the Rooms, Too The occupancy issue wasn’t the only thing that caught fans’ attention. Some readers felt the rooms themselves looked a little too restrained. One commenter called the Deluxe Studios something you’d see “in an IKEA display,” while another wrote, “It’s so… Marriott. I miss the Disney Magic.” Another was even more specific, saying, “The rooms look like a place I’d go for a business conference.” ©Disney Not everybody agreed. Other commenters called the hotel “beautiful,” praised the artwork, and said they loved the overall vibe. And that’s probably where Lakeshore Lodge will land for a lot of people. The design is intentionally subtle, and subtle Disney theming tends to divide a room faster than somebody saying they don’t like DOLE Whip. But room capacity is harder to dismiss as personal taste. Did Disney Miss an Opportunity? We’re not writing Lakeshore Lodge off. Far from it. Its Bay Lake location is fantastic, the lazy river has our FULL attention, and some of the larger accommodations look seriously impressive. Disney has also built an enormous variety of room types into this resort, from tiny Duo Studios all the way up to three-bedroom Grand Villas and waterfront Lake Houses. That variety is precisely why the four-person Deluxe Studios feel a little strange. ©Disney Disney has already proven it can build a studio that sleeps five. Several existing DVC resorts do it right now. For parties of four, this entire debate may be meaningless. For a family of five deciding whether to buy into Lakeshore Lodge or spend considerably more points on every trip, though? That missing fifth bed could be a very big deal. Single rider lines are the ultimate hack for shorter wait times in Disney World, if you’re a solo rider or okay with splitting up your party, of course. Single Rider Line These lines allow parties of one to fill in seats that may be open on rides otherwise. We’re at Disney World EVERY DAY, so it’s safe to say we know a lot about these single rider lines, but do you know the trick to see how fast a single rider line will move? Let’s start with a list of single rider lines in Disney World: Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets — Hollywood Studios Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run — Hollywood Studios Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance — Hollywood Studios Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure — EPCOT Test Track — EPCOT Expedition Everest — Animal Kingdom Sometimes Soarin’ in EPCOT and Space Mountain in Magic Kingdom will have single rider lines as well, but that all depends on the day and the crowd levels. Single Rider Line at Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure We’ve tested these lines out A LOT because we’ve found that they can change over time. Some are extremely efficient while others…not so much. That’s when we decided to dive more into that — WHY are some more efficient than others? And after thinking about it, we officially know why! Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run Single Rider You see, each ride holds a different number of guests per vehicle, and the number of seats typically determines the efficiency of the single rider line. Rides with an even number of seats tend to take longer than rides with an odd number of seats, and that’s simply because there tend to be more parties of an even number than an odd. Expedition Everest Single Rider Entrance That’s why the Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster line tends to take a long time — because there are an even number of seats in the ride vehicles, specifically two seats in each row (and that’s why we recommend not waiting in that line because sometimes it can take as long as the standby line). So, rides like Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster and Expedition Everest can take much longer than the others since they only seat two people per row. Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance and Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run also have even-numbered rows but can be more efficient since there are more seats (eight and six, respectively). For example, if there is a group of two, a group of four, and the following group is more than two, you’ll likely get onto the ride from there. Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run Single Rider Line And the best single rider lines are the ones with an odd number of seats per row on the ride vehicles. Test Track and Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure both seat three people per row, so you’ll usually see those lines move a lot faster than the rides that seat in even numbers. Single Rider at Test Track Okay, NOW we know everything about the single rider lines at Disney World, and you do, too! For shorter waits, use the single rider lines at attractions that seat odd numbers! Stay tuned to the Disney Food Blog for more theme park news, updates, tips, and tricks! Was A Year Worth The Wait? We’ve got some pretty wild news for Disney+ subscribers. ©Disney If you’re a subscriber, you likely know that there are different tiers to the plan — you can pay a lower price to see your favorite shows and movies but experience ads every now and then, or you can pay a higher price to avoid ads. However, things are about to change pretty drastically — no matter what type of tier you’re paying for, you’ll be seeing ads. According to yahoo! news, those who purposefully spend more on a Disney+ plan without ads will now be seeing ads regardless, with certain exceptions. The new terms of use Disney just sent out to its subscribers state that the company is now allowed to include ads and sponsorships in subscriptions that were previously advertised as ad-free. This means that the last fully ad-free experiences are disappearing. ©Disney Up until now, seeing ads was part of Disney+’s “Standard with Ads” plan, but now, after the change, users of the “Standard” and “Premium” packages can also see such ads. Yes, this means that there is NO Disney+ plan that is now completely ad-free. However, those with the Standard package are expected to see ads more than those with the Premium plan, including while watching movies and TV shows. Disney has said that commercials can appear before or after playback, and trailers or notices about the company’s products and services are also possible. Currently, the terms and services have been updated for UK users, with changes to the US terms of service expected soon. Disney+ sculpture Ads can also now be shown during live content, special events, and reruns, but it’s unclear what Disney means by “special events.” It is confirmed, though, that these ads cannot be fast-forwarded through, and it’s unclear how long individual ad blocks will be and how frequently they will appear. There is one exception — children’s profiles in junior mode will remain ad-free. ©Disney In the coming days, users must accept these terms to continue using Disney+. Disney hasn’t revealed what consequences will be if the terms aren’t accepted, or if a paid subscription can continue to be used without agreeing to the new terms. More Recent Disney+ News! Every year, there’s an exciting day that happens at 7-Eleven, and it’s a great way to save some money while also taking part in something super fun. We’re ready for Bring Your Own Cup day! Once a year, 7-Eleven has a Bring Your Own Cup day, where you can bring almost ANYTHING to use as a cup for a Slurpee. It happened yesterday, September 19th, and we decided to bring one of our beloved Disney sippers. Did it mean that we had to basically decapitate Grogu to make it happen? Well…yes, but it was worth it. Just about anything can be your Slurpee cup on this special Bring Your Own Cup day, where getting that Slurpee will only cost you $1.99! While it’s passed for this year, we have to tell you about what we chose to bring this year, because, if we do say so ourselves, it was pretty epic. We decided to snag our beloved Grogu sipper that we got in Disneyland and brought it on over. It was 100% accepted, since it fit the few rules that do apply on this day — containers must be clean, watertight, leak-proof, and able to stand upright within the 10-inch cutout in stores to ensure they fit under the Slurpee drink dispenser. We did have to decapitate him briefly Now, with the way this Grogu sipper opens, it basically means that we had to decapitate him briefly, but it was all worth it to grab our delicious Slurpee for just $1.99! Our reporter’s daughter decided to bring her Bluey sipper instead, which was also a great choice. Now, you would be able to bring popcorn buckets as well, but keep in mind that some of them have holes in them, so you’ll want to keep an eye on those and potentially use a liner to make sure nothing leaks. We love Bring Your Own Cup! While it may be over this year, be sure to keep an eye out for the next Bring Your Own Cup day! They don’t always fall on the exact same day each year, so we recommend keeping a close eye out if you’ve got a 7-Eleven, Speedway, or Stripes store near you. Disney World is making A LOT of changes, and it’s not only in their theme parks or resorts — but they’re also making changes to the My Disney Experience app, too! ©Disney These changes can actually affect how you ride the attractions in the theme park! Are these changes people actually wanted? Let’s just say…no. Let’s start by breaking down what the My Disney Experience app is. This is a free online vacation planning tool and app for Walt Disney World Resort guests. All you need to do to use this app is make a free account on the Walt Disney World website. From there, you can do a PLETHORA of things, including making dining reservations, checking wait times, unlocking your hotel room door, making Lightning Lane reservations, and SO much more! ©Disney Disney will be rolling out some new app and website updates over the next few months in 2026 to take some of the stress out of Disney World vacation planning. These updates will include a trip checklist, an AI-powered search, and updated booking tools. One update has already been made: Guests can now get Spanish translations in the My Disney Experience app! ©Disney But there’s one change that guests are not too thrilled about. Recently, Disney filed a patent for a system that could let guests get personalized warnings about ride elements based on their preferences and aversions. This may include, but is not limited to, flashing lights, loud noises, scary scenes, tight spaces, drops, speed, smells, water effects, and more. This means guests could potentially set their preferences in the app, with alerts delivered through a phone or smartwatch either before or DURING the ride! ©US Patent This patent could have been filed for the new rides Disney is working on, such as Indiana Jones and the Myth of the Jade Serpent, Cars Ridge Run Rally, the Maleficent coaster, and more! When we posted this news to our Instagram, some people shared their thoughts on the new system. ©Disney @keka_baller commented, “No thanks. Keep it scary. Maybe then the line will be a bit shorter ,” and it got over 300 likes, so it’s safe to say that people agree with them! @jaylando90 agreed, saying, “Just keep it scary! That’s what I loved about Dinosaur. Now they are trying to tone it down just to make everyone happy? NO! Keep it scary, who ever doesn’t want that, they don’t have to ride! I prefer Dinosaur over Everest!” ©Disney @yuliasalim focused on how this feature would affect other riders, saying, “Ah yes let’s have people on their devices and have their bright screens ruin the ride for other people. There are warnings before you even get in line. If those warnings are scary for you, then don’t get in line. Why ruin the actual experience for others?!” @ashleysorgea took a similar approach, commenting, “So mid-ride everyone’s watches and phones are buzzing and lighting up?” Warning Sign at TRON Lightcycle / Run However, some people played devil’s advocate, including @longshotway, who wrote, “I’m of two minds on this, yes it’s good for people with sensory processing issues, but some of my favorite Disneyland memories when from when I was 6 are the ones that scared me at first, in my head that first drop on pirates was like 40 feet long,” and @machotacory commented, “This is amazing. They used to have a guide for people with autism and other disabilities so this is AMAZING.” ©Disney Note that this is ONLY a patent right now. It does NOT mean Disney has confirmed this feature is coming, but it could be! Here at Disney Food Blog, we keep you updated on all things Disney! From Disney World, Disneyland, new snacks, exciting experiences, Disney Cruise Line, and more. And Disney Cruise Line just dropped some exciting news and a brand-new look at The Disney Believe, entering the fleet in 2027! The Disney Believe ship will be the ninth Disney Cruise Line ship and the fourth Wish Class ship in the fleet, and it is set to open late next year. Disney has revealed that the atrium statue for this ship will be Moana, the bow of the ship will feature Tinker Bell, and the stern will have Buzz and Woody coloring the ship’s name. ©Disney We also know that we can expect to see these movies and franchises represented throughout the ship: Encanto, Frozen, Snow White, Moana, The Little Mermaid, Pixar, Marvel, and Star Wars. We cannot wait to sail on this new ship, and Disney has just revealed a new look into the construction process. ©Disney Several days ago, the first of the gigablocks were completed and floated out in the shipyard! If you are unaware, a gigablock is basically a large puzzle piece, and when they are all put together, you get a fully built cruise ship. ©Disney These gigablocks are not just the exterior; they are complete with a ton of interior work, including wiring, walls, and even plumbing. This was the first of three gigablocks to be completed for the project, which means that Disney is currently on schedule for their target late 2027 opening date. This section was the midship, meaning that it is home to the Great Hall, and more. The second gigablock to be completed will be the forward, with the completion of the aft following after! ©Disney We are so excited to see this huge update in the creation of Disney Believe, and we will continue to bring you all of the Disney Cruise Line news, so stay tuned to Disney Food Blog so you never miss anything! Recently, we got the chance to check out the new Dolly Parton SongTeller Hotel in Nashville, which officially opens on September 29th. We loved checking out everything the hotel has to offer, and that includes the eats and drinks! Dolly Parton’s SongTeller Hotel You can check out our full room tour from the hotel right now, but now we have to tell you all about the incredible eats and drinks we also got to try at the hotel. When we tell you these BLEW our minds, we mean it, so you will NOT want to miss out! First up was the SongTeller Shrub Spritz from the lobby, which we believe will be the signature drink from the hotel when the lobby bar opens up. There were two different options — pineapple and strawberry basil. We chose the strawberry basil, which the team described to us as the less sweet option. Strawberry Basil SongTeller Shrub Spritz This was absolutely delicious! It’s insanely sweet in our opinion (which would make us hesitant to get the pineapple), but it’s a perfect summery bubble spritz. It’s easy to sip on, and the basil adds a really nice lightness to the strawberry syrup. This is definitely not for everyone; you need a sweet tooth to really enjoy it, but we really enjoyed it. If you’re someone who hates bubbles or you’re looking for something more of that alcoholic bite, this also won’t be for you. This was delicious! We also headed over to the SongTeller Cafe to try two different options. The Monarch is available for $7, and this is a white chocolate and coconut latte with cold foam. The Monarch This drink is totally for the sweet coffee lovers out there! This comes in hot or iced, and the flavors are super apparent. The coconut is subtle enough that we weren’t put off by it, but it was clear enough that there was no question what the main flavors were. The white chocolate cut through that coconut flavor to make the coconut feel a bit more mild. The cold foam was the cherry on top! The cold foam is incredible! We also grabbed the Mushroom Melt for $16, which is made with roasted mushroom, Gruyère, thyme aioli, and focaccia. Mushroom Melt This was simple, yet absolutely delicious. The focaccia was perfectly made — it was soft inside and easy to bite into, but there was a crispy crust on the outside with just a touch of thyme and salt for some extra flavor. The mushrooms were earthy and almost meaty, so they were nice and filling. They had a nice umami flavor and something that almost reminded us of soy sauce. The cheese was melty and subtle, and while the aioli flavor was also on the milder side and we missed it in some bites, we do feel it was very helpful in making sure the sandwich wasn’t too dry. We do feel it’s a bit pricey for not getting any sides with it, but we would get it again! Another delicious option! We can’t wait to go back to the hotel and get the chance to enjoy these eats, and more, next time, so be sure to stay tuned to DFB! Choosing where you’ll be staying on your Disney World vacation is a big decision — do you want to stay somewhere close to the parks and spend more, or would you rather save some money and stay a little further away? If you’re looking to stay close to the Magic Kingdom, Wilderness Lodge is a great option! Wilderness Lodge Although you can’t choose the room you stay in, you can request the area, and there are a lot to choose from, including rooms closest to the pools, the elevators, the laundry room, and the lobby, and those with certain views, including pool views, Bay Lake views, resort views, and even Magic Kingdom views! We have a FULL LIST of the rooms that best match these locations, so let’s go through them! The Main Building The main building is home to the beautiful lobby… Wilderness Lodge Lobby …and several eateries, including Whispering Canyon Cafe, Territory Lounge, Story Book Dining at Artist Point with Snow White, and Roaring Fork. Whispering Canyon Cafe If you’re hoping to be as close to the lobby as possible, you’ll want to request rooms ending in 00-05, 71, 73, 82-87, 89, and 90. As a warning, these areas can be quite loud since they are the closest to the lobby. Room 5089 If you’re looking to be close to the pool, the room you’ll want to request is 2115, but any rooms in this area would work as well! Room 2115 Room 2107 is going to be closest to the ice and vending machines, as well as the main lobby area, the gift shop, and the arcade. Room 2107 Rooms ending in 06 and 04 are going to be closest to the elevator. Room 6104 If you’re hoping for a pool view, nature view, or resort view, rooms ending in 01, 03, 71, and 73 are the rooms you’ll want. Other rooms ending in odd numbers are likely to have this view, but it is not guaranteed. Wilderness Lodge Pool Rooms ending in even numbers, such as 04-32, may have a resort view, and higher floors may have a theme park view! All other even rooms will have a resort, nature, or pool view. Room 6030 On the other side of the resort, room 1030 is going to be closest to the elevators, lobby, Roaring Fork, and Territory Lounge. Roaring Fork Boulder Ridge Rooms 1533-1535 are going to be closest to the pool, Boulder Ridge Cove. Rooms 1533 and 1535 And if you’re looking to do some laundry on your trip, the closest rooms to the laundry room will be rooms 1509-1516. Room 1509 Depending on the floor you’re on, rooms ending in 33-57 and 61 may have a view of the pool, Bay Lake, or both! Room 5537 On floor 5, rooms ending in 17-24 will be closest to the elevators and ice and vending machines, while on floors 2-4, the closest room to those locations ends in 14. Room 3514 Rooms ending in 17, 19, 23, 24, 28, and 30 are in the circle around the opening to the lobby area, so if you’re hoping to be close to the lobby, you’ll want to request rooms ending in those numbers. Compared to the lobby in the main building, this area was much quieter. Room 5524 Okay… you know which room you want to stay in, so it’s time to start planning your dining reservations! There are A LOT of dining locations on Disney property, so it can be overwhelming to go through everything and decide. But don’t worry — our Guide to Disney World Dining pulls it all together so you can stop stressing and focus on the fun without feeling like you’re missing a thing! Magic Mirror’s Slow-Braised Pork Shank Now that you know where these rooms are, how can you request them? Well, there are a couple of ways — you can call ahead and ask a Cast Member to put a note in, but we’ve found the best way to do it is at the front desk when you arrive at the hotel. Remember, your request is NOT guaranteed, and even if it does get granted, you may need to wait a bit longer for the room to be ready. But it doesn’t hurt to ask! Wilderness Lodge If you’re booking a Disney World vacation soon and are staying at Wilderness Lodge, keep these room numbers in mind so you have an idea of where you’ll be located! This may be some of the best Disney news you’ve heard all week — this was a week of NO new temporary closures in Disney World! We know it sounds impossible, but it’s true. Disney’s Hollywood Studios However, next week? Well, we never know what new things the parks may throw at us, but we can tell you about the closures already happening to make sure you’re well prepared! This past week, we had the opening of The Magic of Disney Animation in Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and Hurly-Burly has made a lot of great progress at Disney’s BoardWalk. Now, there was a permanent closure this past week, as Wolfgang Puck’s in Disney Springs closed for good, but hey, we’ll take the win of no temporary closures. Let’s take a look at all of the current closures in Disney World from September 18th through 25th. It’s open! Magic Kingdom Carousel of Progress Carousel of Progress closed on July 6th to undergo a major refurbishment. The work will include completely revamping the scenes in the attraction to make them more modern and represent more recent parts of history, as well as adding a new Walt Disney animatronic at the opening. ©Disney Currently, the attraction is set to reopen in 2027, though no official date has been set yet. Liberty Square Riverboat and Tom Sawyer Island An iconic part of the Magic Kingdom is now permanently closed. As of July 7th, 2025, the Rivers of America, including the Liberty Square Riverboat and Tom Sawyer Island, are permanently closed to make way for the new Cars area, Piston Peak. There are lots of construction walls up in the area now, and the structures on Tom Sawyer Island have been demolished. Most recently, we saw a new addition to one of the old boat docks, as a shed-like structure has now been added to the boat dock near Memento Mori. Miss Fritter’s Daredevil Spin-Along Model ©Disney/Pixar Piston Peak National Park will be replacing this area of the Magic Kingdom. Disney has not yet announced an opening date for the new Cars area, but we do know it will feature two brand-new attractions and be themed to look like a National Park. Disney World Files Permit for an Opening Day Attraction at Magic Kingdom Disney’s Hollywood Studios Vacation Fun Disney announced that Vacation Fun will be closing for the second time this year on Sunday, August 9th. Recently, hours for this spot began showing up again, beginning on September 27th! Vacation Fun The first time this attraction closed this year was on April 29th for a special May 4th Star Wars merchandise event. Muppets Courtyard Muppet*Vision 3D and PizzeRizzo closed on June 8th, 2025, and Muppets Courtyard has been walled off for construction on the new Monsters, Inc. land. Mama Melrose’s Ristorante Italiano has been closed since May 11th, 2025. Most recently, Disney released new information about Monstropolis, saying that “Monstropolis — the monster city now powered by laughter — is getting ready to give humans a glimpse of what’s been hidden from their world for generations. Which raises an interesting question: if humans were never meant to enter the monster world … why are the doors finally opening to us?” ©bioreconstruct We’ll get to explore their world during H.U.M.A.N. Day, or “Humans Understand Monsters Are Nice” Day, with Disney continuing to say, “Human guests will have the chance to explore the city, meet its citizens, taste unique cuisine, and step into the everyday world of monsters in a totally new way. For the first time, two worlds once separated are meeting face to scaly, furry, and fang-filled face – brought together not by screams, but by laughter.” ©Disney It’s also been fully confirmed that Harryhausen’s will be one of the restaurants in the new land, in addition to Archie’s Square Pig Pizza. Most recently, we got a behind-the-scenes look at what Imagineers are working on behind the walls, and it’s got us even MORE excited for the new land! ©Disney If you’re missing The Muppets, you can go visit them at Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets right now! FULL LIST of Changes Coming to Disney’s Hollywood Studios Next Month EPCOT Coral Reef Restaurant Coral Reef, one of the most controversial restaurants in all of Disney World, closed for refurbishment on September 8th. Coral Reef Restaurant The Disney World website recently adjusted to allow guests to begin booking reservations again on November 4th and beyond, which we’re now considering the reopening date, unless Disney tells us differently. La Signature La Signature, one of the stores located in the France Pavilion, closed for refurbishment on June 30th. La Signature closed The store specializes in French cosmetics and fragrances from Guerlain. During the closure, if you’re looking to buy Guerlain products, they’ll be temporarily available at the nearby Plume Et Palette. Sections of Germany Pavilion On July 13th, both the guest bathrooms in the Germany Pavilion and the majority of the Volkskunst store in EPCOT’s Germany Pavilion closed for refurbishment. The roof of Das Kaufhaus is also under refurbishment. Totally closed While a Cast Member did tell us the store closure was to fix the Cast Member bathrooms out of sight, Disney has not revealed a reopening date for the store or the public bathrooms. Other parts of the pavilion are also seeing construction and refurbishment, but are not causing additional closures. This NEW EPCOT Experience Is Every Cheese Lover’s Dream Disney’s Animal Kingdom DinoLand, USA On February 2nd, DinoLand, USA, officially closed to make way for the new Tropical Americas land, Pueblo Esperanza. Most recently, we noticed that large cranes are in the area to adjust the roofs of existing buildings, likely to keep them in theme. @bioreconstruct on X We can also see lots of work happening at the front of the new Indiana Jones ride, Indiana Jones and the Myth of the Jade Serpent! Recently, we got a chance to see how the entrance of the new land is shaping up. Things are certainly looking great so far, and we’re thrilled it’s reached this stage! @bioreconstruct on X This new land will have three new rides: El Carrusel de los Animalitos featuring classic Disney animals, Indiana Jones and the Myth of the Jade Serpent where you’ll explore a Mayan temple, and Antonio’s Fiesta de Encanto that invites you into the Madrigals’ home. We can’t wait to continue to see how it all shapes up. Rides, Restaurants, and More CONFIRMED for Disney’s Animal Kingdom Expansion Disney World Hotels All-Star Sports Resort Disney quietly announced that Grandstand Spirits Pool Bar is closing for a refurbishment. It closed on September 18th and is expected to last through mid-December 2026. Grandstand Spirits During the closure, we recommend you swing by End Zone Food Court, just a short walk away from the pool, to snag your eats and drinks. Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge There are numerous closures taking place around Animal Kingdom Lodge over the next few months that may affect your vacation. The Savanna at Animal Kingdom Lodge August 17th through October 9th: The main lobby and primary entrance will be closed. Check-in will move to the Palace Library during this time. September 28th through October 9th: The north side lobby corridor will be closed. During this time, the north side lobby elevators on the second floor and the outdoor terrace observation deck will be unavailable. October 26th through November 6th: The south side lobby corridor will be closed. During this time, Community Hall, Safari So Good Arcade, the laundry room, the Palace Library, lobby restrooms, and the outdoor terrace observation deck will be unavailable. Convention Center and El Centro Corridor — Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort Beginning on August 10th, the Convention Center at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort began a planned refurbishment that is expected to last through September 2027. Coronado Springs Additionally, the hotel’s El Centro Corridor and surrounding areas will also undergo refurbishment tied to the convention center refurbishment. While there’s no end date for this construction project, we do know that work will be completed in phases, with certain spaces being temporarily inaccessible at times. Boat Dock — Disney’s Old Key West Resort Starting on July 20th, Disney closed the boat transportation at Old Key West Resort, called the Sassagoula River Cruise. These boats usually go to Disney Springs, so now you’ll need to take a bus instead. Old Key West Dock The closure was expected to last through early August, but we still haven’t heard any updates. Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa This hotel has been undergoing refurbishments for quite some time now, but some sections of the hotel — specifically the porte cochere — will continue to undergo refurbishment through at least early 2027. Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort We certainly hope it’ll actually reopen on this timeline — we’re a little tired of seeing construction all over this beautiful hotel! Bay Lake Tower at Disney’s Contemporary Resort Currently, work is taking place all over Bay Lake Tower through Late 2027. Bay Lake Tower While currently no major closures are taking place due to this construction, it’s important to note that you may see or hear construction during your stay. Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort Currently, The Turf Club Bar & Grill is under refurbishment until mid-September, according to the original timeline Disney spoke about. The restaurant closed on August 31st, a day after the Turf Club Lounge reopened after being closed since April. The Turf Club Bar & Grill! Additionally, the tennis courts at Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort are currently closed for refurbishment. While Disney hasn’t shared an exact reopening date, the current timeline is that they’ll be closed from late August through November 2026. Disney’s BoardWalk Inn and Resort It was recently announced that the Village Green area of Disney’s BoardWalk Inn will be closed from August 10th through September 4th. This is an outdoor space where you can usually watch Movie Under The Stars, do yoga, attend arts and crafts classes, and more. Disney’s Boardwalk Inn The Promenade Fine Art Gallery closed its Disney’s Boardwalk location on October 20th, 2025. However, the Promenade Fine Art Gallery isn’t closing for good, and it will just be moving to a new location. Promenade Fine Art Gallery Disney filed permits for the Boardwalk titled “Project Amazon” and “Project Bubbles” earlier this year, and now that we have a bit more information on them, we’re thinking that this currently vacant spot could soon become the home of the new Basin on the Boardwalk store on its way! The shop will be rooted in the resort’s classic boardwalk heritage and will offer a sensory shopping experience that is described as “both timeless and distinctly new.” It Just Got Harder to Visit Disney’s Yacht Club Resort We’ll be sure to keep you updated on all the latest Disney World news, so stay tuned to DFB! There is no denying that Disney World is full of adorable snacks and treats. However, sometimes it’s difficult to know if a treat is just cute or if it will be tasty too. Hi Nemo! Which is why we are here! We make sure to review all the snacks across Disney World, so you know what’s worth a try and what you can skip. And we just tried a returning adorable treat at Disney’s Art of Animation. Several years ago, the food court at Disney’s Art of Animation had the cutest Nemo treat, and when we saw it was back, we knew we had to give it a try! So on our last visit, we hopped over to Landscape of Flavors to grab the new version of the I’m Nemo Cheesecake for $6.29. This is a classic cheesecake coated in a shimmering blue ocean glaze with graham cracker sand and a white chocolate Nemo on the front. I’m Nemo Cheesecake If you’re a fan of cheesecake, you’re going to like this. The cheesecake was very soft and not too thick, making it very easy to eat. It was pretty standard in flavor; the main standout here was the adorable presentation and design of this treat. The graham cracker crust at the bottom was the perfect addition; we just wish there had been more of it, since it added a really great crunch. The green icing was pretty basic, and while there were not a lot of them, we thought the candy pearls were a nice touch and also added a good crunch. Layers! The blue glaze was mostly just for the design and did not add any flavor, and the white chocolate tasted like a classic piece of Disney chocolate. Overall, this is not the most unique treat flavor-wise, but if you love cheesecake, Nemo, or just want an adorable treat, this is an amazing option! I’m Nemo Cheesecake We will continue to bring you food reviews across Disney World and beyond. So stay tuned to Disney Food Blog so you never miss a thing! Magic Kingdom gets HOT, and here at Disney Food Blog, we’re always on the hunt for frozen treats that will keep us cool. And what’s better than ice cream on a sunny Florida day? It’s time for a caffeinated sweet treat! Disney replaced one of our favorite under-the-radar ice cream floats that delivered one of the most satisfyingly caffeinated pick-me-ups in Magic Kingdom. Does its replacement hold up? Let’s find out! The Chocolate-Caramel Cold Brew Float is $7.19 at Auntie Gravity’s Galactic Goodies in Magic Kingdom. It’s Joffrey’s cold brew coffee with chocolate soft-serve and caramel sauce. Chocolate-Caramel Cold Brew Float The chocolate soft serve is the same you’d find across Disney World, with a rich and creamy texture and an ultra-sweet chocolate taste. This is also a great portion size, about as much as a standard ice cream cone. The soft serve melted fast, but it mixed in and sweetened the bitter cold brew enough that we didn’t mind. The caramel sauce added some extra sweetness, but it’s not a prominent flavor overall. Chocolate-Caramel Cold Brew Float This Chocolate-Caramel Cold Brew Float was super refreshing on a hot Magic Kingdom day, and since you’re getting both a coffee and an ice cream, it’s definitely worth it. It’s sweet enough once combined that we’re pretty sure it’ll even convert coffee haters! Auntie Gravity’s Galactic Goodies This Chocolate-Caramel Cold Brew Float replaced the customizable Cold Brew Float option at Auntie Gravity’s, where you could choose between vanilla, chocolate, chocolate-vanilla swirl, or salted caramel soft serve with your cold brew. We love being able to customize our flavors, and we’re bummed the option is gone entirely. Auntie Gravity’s Galactic Goodies Additionally, we confirmed that the salted caramel soft serve has been discontinued. The salted caramel flavor was widely debated within our team. While some love it, others thought it tasted artificial. Still, it was a great not-too-sweet option that paired well with the cold brew, and we’re sad to see it go! Salted Caramel Cold Brew Float If you want to try this new Chocolate-Caramel Cold Brew Float yourself, head to Auntie Gravity’s Galactic Goodies in Magic Kingdom. We’ll be sure to keep you updated on more Disney World menu changes. Stay tuned to Disney Food Blog for more new snack reviews!
