Disney’s nightly fireworks are some of the most beautiful displays you’ll ever see in your life, especially when the colors and the shapes match up to the songs they’re going off to. Happily Ever After But there are some “rules” that guests think they HAVE to follow when it comes to these nightly spectaculars, and we’re here to tell you to BREAK THEM! You actually might get a better experience if you do. Get A Spot At Least 2 Hours Beforehand One thing that people will tell you to do is to get a spot for the fireworks EARLY because the crowds will show up and you need a perfect spot, but the reality is that you don’t have to. There are plenty of places to see the fireworks from, whether you’re watching EPCOT’s Luminous or Magic Kingdom’s Happily Ever After. And I know this from personal experience — I’ve always been able to find a spot to watch the show when showing up just minutes before. I was still able to hear the music, I was still able to see the fireworks clearly, and I was still able to cry when I saw Tinker Bell fly. Happily Ever After Help! I Waited 45 Minutes for Disney World Fireworks. (But I Didn’t Need to) You Have To Watch Happily Ever After From Main Street, U.S.A. WRONG! I actually prefer NOT to watch the Magic Kingdom fireworks from Main Street, U.S.A., for two reasons — it can get extremely crowded and claustrophobic, and there are better spots to watch them from. Fantasyland near the Prince Charming Regal Carousel tends to be much more open, and you’ll still be able to see the fireworks and castle clearly. My second spot is in Tomorrowland by Astrofizz — you won’t be able to see the castle, but the fireworks views from here are spectacular, and it will be one of the least crowded areas of the park! View of fireworks from Fantasyland Former Cast Member Reveals the SECRET Way to Get the BEST Magic Kingdom Fireworks View You MUST Watch Them While You’re In The Park This is another rule we recommend you break because there are a lot of other places around the parks where you can still watch the fireworks and hear the music without the crowds. One of my favorite things to do is to book a reservation at California Grill for just before the fireworks because they actually have a private viewing balcony for guests who dine with them that day! Fireworks view from California Grill Other options include watching them from the beach at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, watching them from the 4th floor of the Contemporary Resort, or watching them from the Grand Floridian Resort & Spa Boat Dock & Marina. All locations will have great views with music piped in through the speakers. The Beach at the Polynesian REVIEW: Disney Changed the ICONIC Goat Cheese Ravioli at California Grill (!!) But We Have GOOD NEWS! You Can’t Do Anything Else During The Fireworks If you’re not planning on watching the fireworks, then you HAVE to break this rule. There are three times when attraction wait times are at their lowest — right at rope drop, right at park close, and during the fireworks. Not only will you have low wait times, but you might also have great views! Flying high on Astro Orbiter, reaching the peak on Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, and the outside portion of Seven Dwarfs Mine Train will all give you a great view of the castle and fireworks! There are so many changes going on in the theme park world these days! Islands of Adventure Over at Universal, new coasters are underway, and classic shows are getting some major updates. An entire land even closed, and we’re still waiting on what new items could be coming! Now, it seems like a long-time restaurant is going extinct very soon. Goodbye, Goodbye, Goodbye, you were bigger than the whole sky, Thunder Falls Terrace. The long-time Jurassic Park-themed quick service is officially becoming extinct. Thunder Falls Terrace After checking the Universal website, the Thunder Falls Terrace page has disappeared, and Team Members have shared that today is the last day the quick service will be open. While we are sad we didn’t get to swing by the themed establishment one more time, we are pretty eager to see what’s taking its place! Inside Thunder Falls Terrace In May, Universal confirmed that Thunder Falls Terrace would be closing, but they never shared an official date other than “this summer.” What we do know is this restaurant will be transforming into an all-new dining concept, which will become the new signature full-service restaurant in Islands of Adventure. The change was prompted by the official closure of Mythos in the Lost Continent. Mythos is closing in 2027, but Universal hasn’t shared an official closing date. Mythos Restaurant The rethemed Thunder Falls Terrace will reopen sometime in 2027, but we have yet to see an official date from Universal. There are still plenty of quick service options in Islands of Adventure to dine at in the meantime. Some of our favorites include Green Eggs and Ham, the Three Broomsticks, and The Burger Digs (which is still Jurassic-themed). When you’re thinking about essentials for your Disney World trip, you may be thinking about getting a few of them when you’re already in Disney World, because what if you don’t need it, you brought it from home, and then took up that space in your bag? Let’s take a look at what’s in the first bag! Here’s the thing, though: you may be surprised to see just how much MORE some of those items will cost you in Disney World. There are kiosks in every park so you can swap out a dead charger for a fully charged one. You can buy one from the kiosk at Disney World for $80 compared to $65 on Amazon. This is a HUGE FuelRod portable charger that’s been completely revamped from the form we once knew. These are large and can get in the way easily. That’s why we would rather opt for something smaller. Misting Fans We love this misting fan compared to the Disney one! LACOVIA Mini Fan The LACOVIA Cute Mouse Misting Mini Fan, a handheld portable USB-rechargeable fan with three adjustable speeds, a foldable handle, and a very cute little mouse-ear look that makes it feel right at home in Disney World. And yes, it costs under $14. But do we feel fancy using it in the parks? Absolutely. view ON AMAZON You can find cooling towels inside the parks, but it will cost you. For $22.99, you will only get one in a pack. That’s not that bad, especially when you feel like you’re slowly melting into asphalt. What if we told you there’s a better option? Cooling Towels Or, you can grab this four-pack of towels for cheaper! Sukeen Cooling Towels These Sukeen Cooling Towels come in a pack of 4 with different color variations. They’re super lightweight, breathable, and can help keep you cool as often as needed throughout your vacation. All you have to do is dip it into ice-cold water, wring it out, and wrap it around your neck. The towel can stay chilled for up to 3 hours, depending on the conditions you’re in. view ON AMAZON A bubble wand at Disney World will cost you between $34.99 and $39.99. That can be expensive for a toy that will likely get dropped on the pavement or worst, lost. So why not save some money ahead of time? So you have an ultra-special one that is cooler than everyone else’s. PLAY Everyday Lotion is available on Amazon, and this large bottle will last you a while! It is an 18 oz bottle, and it has 50 SPF, so it will keep you covered during your park days. LEVEL99 recently opened in Disney Springs, and we’ve been having a blast playing all the games and collecting points. Disney Springs needed a space like this, so we’re glad it’s here, and the internet seems to be raving about the experience. LEVEL99 Something super cool about LEVEL99 is that it’s decked out in amazing artwork. Seriously, it feels like every wall is filled with bright colors, and we couldn’t help but stop and admire them while waiting for our next game. Just wait till you see the art! There are more than 40 different pieces throughout the building, showcasing a selection of 23 visual artists from across the world and seven from Florida. Two of them are even from Central Florida, which makes us so happy to see local artists getting the recognition they deserve. ©LEVEL99 LEVEL99 said, “Art is a key element of creating a unique environment at each LEVEL99 venue and providing a complete sensory adventure as Players take on a series of challenges via life-sized mini-games. There are lots of ways to explore Disney World. All-Star Sports You can check out the theme parks, you can check out the hotels, and you can even dine and shop at Disney Springs. During one of our recent reporting walks around the resort, we heard some commentary that made our ears perk up. We asked what YOU guys thought about people sleeping in their cars in Disney World. Here are your replies. Our team goes to Disney World every single day to check out the new changes, fresh snacks, and more updates around the theme parks and hotels. During a stop by one of the Disney hotels, we overheard a conversation that security guards have started to watch for the growing problem of people driving to the resorts and sleeping in their cars from there. They referenced events like runDisney where people will come only for the event and have a nap in the parking lot before the early morning events. Springtime Surprise 2026 Hearsay isn’t fact, and we won’t act like it is. That’s why we decided to ask if YOU guys have also heard of this potential problem or if you’ve even done it before. We received nearly 150 replies, and some of you guys even had firsthand experience! Jennifer Beth commented, “They check to make sure it’s not a medical emergency or an OD. Standard procedure for anyone sleeping in any parking lot.” That’s when Kristi Ammons replied, “Can confirm. I’m mostly useless after 8PM, but I married a musician who regularly has late gigs. I’m often woken up from a very peaceful car nap as part of a wellness check (often cops/security, but sometimes civilians too).” So it could just be increased safety precautions. Pop Century Room 7136 near the parking lot Another reader asked why people would want to sleep in the parking lot, to which Angela Zultowski replied, “Some people will drive 18 to 19 hours all the way straight through till they hit Disney, and when they arrive it’s in the middle of the night and their room isn’t ready until 3:00 p.m. I know someone who used to do this; he and three of his buddies would pile into the car and drive 19 hours straight. Because they couldn’t check in until later on the day, they would just sleep in their car until the sun came up and then at least checked their bags at baggage claim until check-in time.” Port Orleans French Quarter Lobby Dani Prosper confirmed that some racers will also make this choice because of runDisney! Dani wrote, “I did it in April after the springtime surprise yoga. I didn’t want to wake up my family one more time, so I stayed in my car and was scrolling. Next thing I know, security was at my car wondering if I was ok.” Amanda Golz also shared that her family arrived at 4 AM ahead of schedule. They were tired, and so they checked in with security and took a nap before continuing with their day. Pop Century One user even shared that she has slept in her car before due to her roommates’ increasingly loud snoring! She noted that she got her own room for the rest of their trip. Several commenters noted that napping in the car before check-in isn’t uncommon for them. It’s important to note, you cannot get into the parking lots without a reservation or checking in with security. Even if you arrive in the middle of the night, you will still need to talk to security before they let you into your resort’s parking lot. BoardWalk Inn Entrance If you want to make sure a bed is there for you when you arrive, you can book a room for the night before. You can also request early check-in times with Disney when you’re doing the online check-in, although they can’t always accommodate requests. Instead of sleeping in your car, Kelly Lawson commented, “If you’re waiting for your room, just sleep on a lounge chair at the pool lol.” Honestly, we have done this before! Animal Kingdom Lodge Pool Chairs Before sleeping in your car at any point in the day, don’t forget how hot it gets in Orlando no matter the time of day, so always be sure to do what is safest for you and your family. There have also been events lately where guests showed up hours before Disney even opened, like the Lorcana Special Release Event. Some of the comments speculated if events like this also increased guests sleeping in their cars beforehand. Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party has everything we want from a Disney World evening. Rare characters, ridiculously fun costumes, enough candy to turn your park bag into a kettlebell! And don’t forget the Headless Horseman casually galloping through Magic Kingdom! Mickey and Minnie! It also has something considerably less festive: Central Florida weather. That means your party outfit needs to be cute without becoming a portable sauna. Your bag needs to hold the essentials without dragging down one shoulder. And your phone absolutely cannot die before the parade, because that is how villains are made. The TSA might be one of the most stressful parts of traveling. It seems that there are always new rules being added or changed, and it can be hard to keep up with it all. MCO TSA Precheck A new TSA has arrived, and it might be impacting what you can carry on when you travel. According to the TSA, new Transportation Security Administration scanners can impact which carry-ons you can bring through security. TSA is installing new computed tomography (CT) checkpoint X-ray machines to enhance the screening capabilities of carry-on items brought in. The machines use technology similar to CT technology in the medical field. ©TSA Currently, the scanners use 2-D images, but the new CT technology can create 3-D images that can be viewed and rotated 360 degrees. It creates a clearer image of the items inside the bag, and the system can automatically scan to detect explosives and other items more easily than the current scanners. The new image will let TSA get a better view of the bag’s contents, which will hopefully reduce the number of bags that need to be pulled and manually inspected. This will make everything more efficient for TSA agents and travelers! MCO Airport Security The machines also let passengers leave their laptops and other electronic devices in their carry-on bags. They also wouldn’t need to remove their travel-size liquids. The new scanners will require all carry-on items to be in a bin and cannot be placed on a belt. MCO Airport What’s the big deal with this? Well, the CT scanners have a smaller entry tunnel, which means larger carry-on bags will not fit in the scanners. TSA is currently recommending that the larger bags be checked. A spokesperson for TSA said that the new design is necessary to fit the advanced technology inside and said: “TSA officers are available to assist travelers with larger items or special needs to help ensure a smooth screening process.” Nearly 300 airports already have this new technology. Security at MCO TSA is planning on replacing all of the current scanners over the next few years as funding allows. Since it first opened back in 2011, the LEGOLAND Florida resort has grown into a massive resort that’s home to the 150-acre LEGOLAND theme park, a LEGOLAND water park, the Peppa Pig Theme Park Florida, the SEA LIFE Florida Aquarium, and three LEGO-themed hotels: the LEGOLAND Hotel Florida, The LEGOLAND Pirate Island Hotel, and our focus today: the LEGOLAND Beach Retreat Bungalows. LEGOLAND Beach Retreat The LEGOLAND Beach Retreat Bungalows, first opened in 2017, is made up of 83 freestanding bungalow-style buildings – – each featuring two rooms, making 166 total – – that are designed to resemble giant LEGO sets. The non-traditional layout of bungalow buildings gives the resort a large, spread-out feel. The bungalows There’s a lot of space to move on the property through the clusters of bungalow buildings. Lots of space As with LEGOLAND’s other two hotels, the common areas are loaded with LEGO theming, though it arguably feels slightly more dated than the other resorts. Pool Hours There’s an expansive pool area that adds to the beach/tropical motif. The pool There are also sandy, beach-themed activities that do achieve effective immersion into the beach theme. LEGO theming The resort is home to the Bricks Beach Bar, a full bar that offers views out onto the pool and pool deck. Bricks Beach Bar There’s also the themed Sandy’s Castle Restaurant. Sandy’s Castle Restaurant While the bungalow complex sits across the street from LEGOLAND, it’s not a comfortable walkable distance like the other hotels. We love a fancy dinner, and let’s just say we won’t be adding up all the receipts from all the fancy dinners we’ve had across Disney World (and we definitely will not be throwing in Disneyland or Disney Cruise Line into that total). While we’re happy with a Mickey pretzel and a Coke, there’s something so special about being wined and dined at our favorite place in the world. Wine Bar George With the EPCOT Food & Wine Festival just around the corner, starting on August 27th and running till November 21st, we’re dreaming of all the fancy food we’re going to eat around the World Showcase. Lucky for us, a super special dinner is being added this year that is making the Food & Wine Festival even BETTER (and we truly didn’t know that was possible). Say hello to Uncorked: The Domaine de la Romancee-Donti Experience, put on by Wine Bar George, aka one of the best spots in Disney Springs. This special event is limited to 11 guests and will take place November 14th from 3 PM to 4:30 PM. Wine Bar George It will be at Wine Bar George in Disney Springs, and the tickets cost a whopping $1,850, which includes sales tax and gratuity. But what’s included? Wine Bar George The Domaine de la Romancee-Conti (DRC) is universally thought of as the holy grail of Pino Noir and Chardonney. Master Sommelier George Millotes and Advanced Sommelier Zach Biro will discuss the history, terroir, and winery commitment that make any wine from the DRC one of the greatest produced. Drinks You will get the rare treat of three reds: La Tache, Richebourg, and Romanee-St-Vivant, and one white, Corton-Charlemagne from the famed 2022 vintage for you to try in 2-ounce pours. If you’re a wine snob, it sounds like these wines are going to be the best you’ve ever had. Our Wine Looking for a fun event that’s a little bit more in budget? Wine Bar George will have other offerings that are not over $1,000. On September 5th, you can attend The Mosel, a Riesling Master Class where you’ll get tastings and small bites that include cheese donue and sauerkraut croquettes for $180. We love the food here! On September 12th, you can check out the Sliders & Somms for $85, which is an experience of wine and sliders and how they work together. When it comes to dining at Disney World, you’ve got a TON of options to choose from. But when we’re craving something tropical, we almost always hop on the monorail from Magic Kingdom and say aloha to Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort! Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort We recently stopped by Barefoot Pool Bar at Disney’s Polynesian Resort to see if one of our favorite pool bars is still as good as we remember, and now we’re bringing you our FULL review. Is it still worth a stop on your next trip to the Most Magical Place on Earth? Let’s find out! Atmosphere Guests at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort spending some time at the Lava Pool can also relax at the Barefoot Pool Bar. But this tiki hut-inspired outpost isn’t just for resort guests, since anyone can order from the pool bar. We love hopping on the monorail when we’re at Magic Kingdom to grab The Voyager, a drink we created that moved from the secret menu to the permanent menu a few years ago! Barefoot Pool Bar at Polynesian Village Resort As the name suggests, it is right by the pool, and while there is limited seating around the actual bar, you can find tables and chairs around the area. We think these are best enjoyed poolside! Seating But enough about the restaurant — what’s on the menu here?! Menu The menu offers dozens of tropical drinks and cocktails fit for an island vacation. You can also grab a quick bite to eat with Polynesian-inspired island bites or American staples like burgers and sandwiches. Barefoot Pool Bar And now, onto the main event — the food! Drinks To drink, we picked up the Frozen Margarita with DOLE Whip Lime for $17.50. This is DOLE Whip Lime blended with Corazón Blanco Tequila and Chili-Lime Seasoning. Frozen Margarita with DOLE Whip Lime This drink was so smooth. The DOLE Whip overpowers the tequila, so you can barely taste it. The tajin and salt rim cut through the sour lime to balance everything out. If you love lime and margaritas but want something without the alcohol taste, then this is the drink for you! Frozen Margarita with DOLE Whip Lime Next up was The Voyager for $16.50. It’s DOLE Whip Pineapple blended with Parrot Bay Coconut Rum, Bols Blue Curaçao Liqueur, Cream of Coconut, and Pineapple Juice. This is the drink we helped develop back in 2021, but the toppings are different this time around. Instead of a pineapple slice and cherry on top, it’s only a pineapple slice now, so we’re curious if it still tastes the same. The Voyager The Voyager is still very pineapple-forward with a slushie consistency from the DOLE Whip. The coconut flavor from the rum and cream of coconut is still prominent, making it super tropical and fruity. You also don’t taste much of the alcohol bite, so this is still the same exact drink that we helped make; it just looks a bit different! The Voyager Eats First up, we grabbed the Spicy Honey Pork Wings for $15. These are pork wings tossed in Sriracha honey with spicy ranch sauce. Spicy Honey Pork Wings The pork is tender and fell right off the bone. These wings are packed with flavor, but they weren’t very spicy. It’s glazed with a very mild hot honey, and the orange spicy ranch sauce packs a real punch. This was good, we just wish there was more spicy ranch on top! Spicy Honey Pork Wing Next up was the Shrimp Flatbread for $14.29. This is a flatbread topped with shrimp, with Loco Moco Gravy, cheese, and bacon pieces. Shrimp Flatbread The flatbread crust itself is on the bland side, and the texture was rather tough. The Loco Moco Gravy sauce was very creamy and reminded us of Alfredo sauce combined with the shrimp. The bacon bits added a nice crunch and saltiness that kept things interesting. Shrimp Flatbread Then, for our entrée, we got the Crispy Chicken Sandwich for $13.19. It’s a fried chicken sandwich with a broccoli and carrot slaw sauce served with a side of fries. Crispy Chicken Sandwich The chicken on this was clearly frozen, since it was more chewy than tender and didn’t taste very fresh. The coleslaw sauce was a hit, though. It’s very garlicky with the creaminess of mayo or ranch, then combined with a fine broccoli-and-carrot slaw. If this were made fresh, it would be a hit! Crispy Chicken Sandwich Nosh or Not Swim-up to the Barefoot Pool Bar if… You’re staying at (or near) the Polynesian Village Resort. You want some quick and casual options with a bit of flair. Most of these foods and drinks are unique to the pool bars here, so it’s a chance to try something unique to the location. You love a good tropical drink. The bartenders here are SO much fun and so great at what they do. The drinks are top-notch and not all your average “Disney bar menu” drinks (though they have those too!). You love the energy of dining outside by a pool. Just keep swimming somewhere else if… You’re not in the vicinity of the Polynesian. It’s tasty, but no need to make a special trip for these options. You’re looking to escape the heat and find some air conditioning, nearby Capt. Cook’s is more what you’re after. You want a nice sit-down meal. This is a classic pool bar done pretty well, but you’ll still find lots of people in casual wear and have speedy quick service. Overall Everything we ordered was so fresh and different compared to the typical pool bar foods. Like the rest of the resort, everything had a fun Polynesian flair. Next time you’re at the Polynesian Resort and are looking for a quick drink, we totally recommend checking this pool bar out! The Voyager on the beach! NEW CHURRO ALERT! Churro time! Sound the churro bell, everyone. Disney World just announced three new snacks coming to Magic Kingdom, and one of them is new churros, which means we can’t resist. Don’t be surprised if you see us in line in Frontierland with empty stomachs. All of these new snacks are coming to Frontierland starting on July 21st. You can find Hot Honey Chicken Strips with marshmallow and candied pecan-topped sweet potato waffle fries at Golden Oak Outpost. Sweet potatoes and marshmallows? Please, you’re pulling on my Southern heartstrings! ©Disney Over at Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn and Cafe, you can get the Barbecue Bacon Cheeseburger, which is Angus beef, American cheese, house-made bacon jam, and barbecue sauce served with French fries. ©Disney You’ll also get the Churro Loops, which are tossed in cinnamon-sugar with house-made chocolate sauce! They used to have the Double Barbecue Bacon Cheeseburger, which was two flame-broiled all-beef patties topped with American cheese, bacon, and Coca-Cola cherry barbecue sauce with a side of fries. Magic Kingdom is getting a LOT of new stuff right now. In Tomorrowland, a new and updated version of Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin recently opened, while a newly updated Big Thunder Mountain Railroad just reopened in Frontierland. Speaking of Frontierland, it’s getting a huge Cars expansion, while a new Villains-themed land is going behind Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. Magic Kingdom Ferryboat Well, Magic Kingdom is also getting some new transportation. We recently reported that a new ferry would be coming to the park, and we now have a NEW updated look at construction on that ferry. However, we’ve also got a look at a retired riverboat just chilling out, perhaps maybe because Disney has future plans for it? Let’s take a look. What’s most exciting about this is that this will be the first new Magic Kingdom ferryboat in over 50 years! The new boat will be named after Meg Gilbert Crofton, who served as President of Disney World and then later as President of Walt Disney Parks and Resorts Operations, U.S. and France. Crofton retired in 2015. Here’s a closer look at the new boat. More of the top deck is staged on the left. Stairs will be added where you see those square openings on the boat. @bioreconstruct We also got a new look at the Liberty Belle riverboat that was retired after Disney closed Rivers of America in Magic Kingdom to make way for the Cars expansion in Frontierland. Although her days of cruising Rivers of America are over, she’s just sitting at a dock in the service marina. @bioreconstruct With the Liberty Belle still being around and in one piece, we can’t help but wonder if Disney has future plans for her. If you’re planning a Disney World vacation for 2027, there are some changes you’ll want to note! Magic Kingdom A lot is happening at Disney World in 2027, and Magic Kingdom will be no different. With ongoing construction for Piston Peak and the new Villains land, construction walls are up, and other rides are going to be closed for refurbishment. If you’re planning to spend time at this Disney World park, you’ll want to follow these new rules. 1. You Might Have to Leave the Park to Mobile Order This is for Mobile Ordering from the Magic Kingdom resorts. Previously, you could use your MyDisney Experience app to place an order for Captn. Cook’s at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort while you were in the park, but that seems to have changed. When we were in Magic Kingdom area recently, we noticed that if we went to try and place a mobile order for one of the surrounding hotels, the following message would pop up. It told us we were too far away to mobile order at Gasparilla Island Grill, Capt. Cook’s, Contempo Cafe, and Geyser Point. Gasparilla Island Grilla So, for right now, this appears just to be the case at the quick service dining spots at Magic Kingdom area hotels, which are Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, Disney’s Contemporary Resort, Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, and Disney’s Wilderness Lodge. However, it’s possible this is a new test Disney is performing, and we could see it expand to other restaurants in the near future. This would mean that you may not be able to order at a location without being physically close by. Capt. We do feel it’s important to mention that one of our team members was able to get into the mobile order screen, then updated her app, and the access then went away. Of course, you can still go directly to the restaurant itself and place an order in person. Contempo Cafe 2. You Should Actually Leave the Park In 2027, the Magic Kingdom area will be getting a new resort, and you’re going to want to check it out. Disney’s Lakeshore Lodge Resort is between Disney’s Wilderness Lodge Resort and Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort. Disney has confirmed that Lakeshore Lodge will have a dedicated boat dock for transportation between Lakeshore Lodge and Magic Kingdom. ©Disney Not only will guests be able to enjoy the new scenic views at this resort, but there will also be new restaurants, giving them another reason to leave Magic Kingdom. Now, Disney has not announced any details about what restaurants this resort could get, but from the concept art it does appear to have one placed by the lakeside, which would give guests a great view with their meal. As more information is released about this new resort, we will bring it to you! ©Disney 3. Take Advantage of Walk-Up Options Recently, we noticed that the Beak and Barrel was finally added a walk-up list in the My Disney Experience app! This means it would be easier to experience the lounge, which previously required a reservation. Sadly, it was short-lived. Disney quickly removed the option from the app. This leads us to believe that this feature is coming in the future, but it wasn’t quite ready to be launched. We do hope by 2027, this change will be in effect, and we will keep our eyes out for any changes. ©Disney However, this is your reminder to check the walk-up options day of in Magic Kingdom! Restaurants can often have walk-up availability depending on time of day and party size, so it’s always worth checking. At Magic Kingdom, the Plaza Restaurant, The Crystal Palace, Liberty Tree Tavern, Jungle Navigation Co. LTD Skipper Canteen, Cinderella’s Royal Table, and Be Our Guest are all listed on the walk-up list, so be sure to check! Be Our Guest 4. Ride the PeopleMover for Your Relaxation Fix The Carousel of Progress is officially closed at Disney World. Disney hasn’t announced an official reopening date but has said to expect a reopening in 2027, so we have a while before we can visit with our favorite family of the past decades. Many guests used this attraction as a relaxing break from the busy crowds and the Florida heat. So now, there will be a new location to get your relaxation on — The PeopleMover. Carousel of Progress This attraction already has many fans who make it a must-do each Disney park day, but now we may see more guests utilizing this ride for a break. This also means we could see wait times for this attraction increase in 2027 until the Carousel of Progress is reopened. One thing about Disney World that can be a little annoying is that so much of the park experience is outdoors, which means you’re exposed to the elements (like random Florida rainstorms) and critters like squirrels, and even the occasional bear. These bees aren’t so bad But one little particular group of critters has been causing problems FOR YEARS because these critters have a serious sweet tooth. Yep, we’re talking about bees, and well, the bees are back in Disney World and causing problems with your coffee order. We recently visited Magic Kingdom and noticed that Joffrey’s Revive, which is an outdoor coffee kiosk, had a familiar sign up on its counter. The sign reads: “Bee-ware: Syrups and sauces are temporarily unavailable to reduce the attraction of bees to this location.” Yep, the bees are creating chaos at one of our favorite coffee kiosks. The sign also indicated that the kiosk was serving a limited menu. For now, all you can get there is drip coffee, plain lattes, cappuccino, and plain cold brews. This is to keep the bees from swarming all over the kiosk. You see, those bees are drawn to the sugar in the syrups and sauces. This might seem a little ridiculous, but they can get BAD and get into the drinks…and well, you get the photo. Save the bees! But keep them away from coffee. One of the EPCOT bees The bees have also caused chaos during the EPCOT Flower & Garden Festival, but then again, the festival’s unofficial mascot is Spike the Bee! Yep, bees are a hot topic in Disney World. However, they can cause problems throughout the year. Spike the Bee Sipper If you’re looking for coffee with syrups and sauces in Magic Kingdom, you’ll probably just want to hit up Starbucks at Main Street Bakery, which is indoors and free of bees. We’re less than a month away from the start of spooky season in Disney World, and while that feels far too early for many people, we’re looking forward to seeing all the Halloween decorations again! Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party! August also means the start of Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, which is really what will kick off the season. This year, the exclusive, ticketed, after-hours event takes place on select nights from August 7th through October 31st, and we’re looking forward to it just as much as you are. If you’re on the fence about going, though, we get it. It’s a lot of extra money to spend, and you really only get five hours in the park. Is it worth it? Let’s break down what you can REALLY do in five hours at the party. Arrive Early While the party itself doesn’t start until 7 PM, party guests can enter the park as early as 4 PM, giving you THREE extra hours of park time. This is key to making sure you can accomplish everything you want to, because even though everyone’s priorities are different, achieving all you want to in five hours is almost always incredibly stressful. Adding those three extra hours brings you up to eight hours, though it’s important to note that party-exclusive offerings won’t become available until the party starts. Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party If merchandise is high on your list, we recommend getting in line at The Emporium right when you enter the park, especially if you’re looking at any limited-edition merchandise that may sell out soon. Last year, there were multiple party-exclusive pins, but the majority of them sold out in the first few hours each night. Bride Pin If merchandise isn’t high on your list, but you and/or your group have dressed up, we also recommend taking the daylight time to take photos. Yes, the park will be far from empty, but as night falls, the lighting won’t be as opportune to grab those great photos. Take half an hour to take whatever photos you’d like around the park, and know you’re set for your social media posts. The Hundred Acre Woods Crew! Additionally, it can be a good idea to start riding a few attractions that aren’t at super high waits. Not everything is open during the party, but the majority of rides are, so don’t get in line for anything that you know is about to drop drastically in a few hours. FULL LIST of Dates to AVOID Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party at Magic Kingdom in 2026 Hit The Food First The party-exclusive eats and drinks won’t become available until 7 PM, but many of these spots close earlier in the night than you may expect, or they’ve run out of their party offerings in the past. With that in mind, we suggest making food one of the FIRST things you do during your party night. Mummy Treat Mobile order wait times have also gotten very long in prior years, especially around the middle of the party, so it’s great to place those mobile orders in advance to be prepared. The last thing you want is to be really looking forward to an offering, only to find that it has sold out, or the spot closed an hour before the party ends (yes, that’s happened to us). On the flip side, we don’t recommend prioritizing hitting the candy stations at any particular time of the night, because they WILL be around from 7 PM to 12 AM. Minnie’s Pumpkin Cheesecake CONFIRMED: This Exclusive Perk Is Coming Back to Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party in 2026 Special Ride Overlays Rides that have special overlays for the season are going to be slightly more sought after than others, just because they are indeed party-exclusive. If riding rides with lower waits is a big priority for you, we recommend putting these at the top of your list, since they’re only around this time of year. Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor Halloween overlay However, we recommend you wait until the regular park guests are DEFINITELY out of the ride lines before you really start looking at how far those wait times are going to drop (we suggest no earlier than 8 PM). Otherwise, some of the longer lines may be that way due to regular park guests having gotten in line right at 6 PM, before non-party guests have to leave the park. Disney’s rule is that if you’re in line before the park closes (in this case, again, that’s 6 PM for non-party guests), you can stay in line, and that will affect party wait times for about the first hour. Space Mountain Every SOLD OUT Date For Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party Meet and Greets Another big draw of the party is the fact that you can meet tons of your favorite Disney characters that you don’t often get to see in the parks, such as Jack Skellington and Sally, as well as the Hundred Acre Woods gang in their Halloween costumes. If these are important to you, we also recommend prioritizing these closer to when the party starts at 7 PM. Jack Skellington and Sally at Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party Their lines are known for getting quite long, and the characters also aren’t around as often later on into the night. The last thing you want is to save a meet and greet for last, only to find that it’s already closed. Goofy and Daisy Now, it’s important to note that everyone’s priorities at the party are going to be different, and that’s why there are so many offerings available! Those traveling with young kids may want to focus on meet and greets and the dance parties, whereas a couple traveling together may instead choose to focus on the special eats and the shows available. There’s no wrong way to do the party, but we do strongly suggest doing research on the offerings ahead of time, so you know what’s most important to you. We will scream it from the rooftops because we don’t care who knows it: we LOVE ice cream. We’ve eaten tons and tons of cones, bowls, sundaes, bars, and anything else you can imagine all around Disney World, and when a new ice cream drops, we know exactly where we are going. ICE CREAM! This time, we’re heading to Anandapur Ice Cream Truck in Animal Kingdom. Don’t worry, you won’t have to chase down the ice cream truck to grab this treat; this snack stand is always here and packed with delicious treats for a hot day. We grabbed the Motonnui Ube Sundae for $7.29, which is ube soft-serve with tropical fruits, coconut, raspberry crumbs, and macadamia. Motonui Ube Sundae Now THIS was a hit. We loved the ube ice cream, which was very smooth and had an incredibly deep flavor. The pieces of fruit were firm instead of soft and mushy, which added some really nice texture. The color is awesome! The coconut was not toasted, but it still had some crunch and added a bit of freshness. This is one of the more unique ice cream treats we’ve had, and we hope they keep it around for a long time because it was that good. Animal Kingdom often feels like the hottest park, and it’s hard to walk around without ice cream in hand, so if you’re looking for an option outside of the traditional Mickey bar (which we love too, by the way), this can be a lot of fun if you’re looking for something out of the box. Gorgeous and delicious While you’re at Anadapur Ice Cream Truck, there are a few other treats we love, too. You can grab the Yeti Sundae, which is chocolate and vanilla soft serve with blue cake crumbs, sugar, and chocolate, which is perfect for those who love a cute snack but prefer more traditional flavors. Yeti Sundae You can also grab a Hand-dipped Mickey’s Premium Ice Cream Bar with freeze-dried Skittles for something wild! When we’re craving a tropical snack, meal, or drink at Magic Kingdom, we almost always hop on the monorail and head to Disney’s Polynesian Resort for island cuisine on the beach. Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort But the Polynesian has had a LOT of construction recently. Right now, the Grand Ceremonial House, Tiki Terrace, and Wailulu Bar & Grill are going through major refurbishments. But two of these updates just got postponed! Trader Sam’s Tiki Terrace used to be one of our favorite spots to grab a drink at the Polynesian, but it unexpectedly closed in April with no reopening date in sight. Disney recently announced that Trader Sam’s Tiki Terrace will finish refurbishment on an unspecified date in October. That’s a six-month-long closure! Polynesian construction Trader Sam’s Tiki Terrace at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort is temporarily closed due to refurbishment work at the Grand Ceremonial House. The Grand Ceremonial House is the main building of the Polynesian Village Resort, housing the lobby and multiple restaurants, which is currently undergoing an extensive exterior refurbishment until October. If you’re headed to the resort, you’ll likely hear construction noise and may need to take alternate routes. Closed for now But that’s not the only refurb, either. If you head to the resort’s new Island Tower, you’ll also find that a popular restaurant is under construction. Wailulu Bar & Grill is having extensive work done on the roof, and while it was supposed to end in June, it’s still ongoing as of July 19th. Wailulu Construction Wailulu Bar & Grill will remain open during the refurbishment, but with some major changes. The bar will only offer walk-up service every day until 5 PM, and seating will only be available at dinner from 5 PM through close until construction is done. It just got easier to fly to Florida! ©Tampa International Airport Breeze Airways is adding new daily nonstop flights from Tampa to Las Vegas starting next year. The Tampa International Airport shared a post on Facebook saying that beginning January 5th, there will be daily nonstop flights from Tampa to Las Vegas, Nevada. What a score! ©Facebook You can already start booking the flights now, which means planning your 2027 trips just got easier. Planning on flying into Tampa versus the ever-chaotic Orlando Airport? You’ll probably want to rent a car, but it’s only about an hour drive. There are a lot of great opportunities to explore and enjoy food and wine in Disney World this fall. You’re probably already familiar with the EPCOT Food & Wine Festival, and you’ve probably seen us talk a lot about the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Food and Wine Classic. Wine Bar George However, a brand NEW food and wine experience is coming to Disney World in September at Wine Bar George (yep, one of our favorite Disney Springs restaurants) that you need to know about. So let’s get to all the details! Wine Bar George is hosting a series of food and wine experiences called Uncorked at Wine Bar George. This signature event will include chef-led demonstrations, food and wine pairings, in-depth tasting experiences, and more. The first event begins on September 5th, with the final event on November 14th. Wine Bar George On September 5th at 3 PM, you can attend The Mosel, a Riesling Master Class. For one hour, you’ll get an “intimate exploration of one of Germany’s most storied wine estates, Selbach-Oster.” During the tasting, you’ll also get some small bites, including cheese fondue and sauerkraut croquettes. Tickets are $180 and can be purchased here. Wine Bar George On September 12th at 3 PM, you can attend Sliders & Somms, which is a fun wine pairing with sliders. Wine Bar George’s sommeliers and culinary team will “walk you through a lineup of perfectly paired wines and sliders, exploring how flavors interact, contrast, and elevate each other.” Tickets are $85 and can be purchased here. Wine Bar George On September 19th at 3 P.M., Wine Bar George his hosting Craft Cocktails. During this demonstration, Wine Bar George’s bar team will explore “the art and creativity of cocktails exploring inventive flavor combinations, house-made ingredients, and the techniques that elevate a cocktail from ordinary to unforgettable.” You’ll get to taste your way through this course, while learning about each drink. Tickets are $$75 and be purchased here. Authored In Autumn On October 3rd at 3 PM, check out the Five Decades of Dunn, Howell Mountain Cabarets. Master Sommelier George Miliotes will lead this tasting of five vintages of Dunn’s famous Howell Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon from the last 5 decades. Chef Will Davison and Chef Ron Rupert will walk you through “two of the finest ingredients — fresh pasta and white truffles.” You’ll see pasta made from scratch while exploring the world of truffles. Then, a sommelier will guide you through a curated wine pairing. Tickets are $150 and can be purchased here. Wine Bar George The grand finale event is on November 14th at 3 P.M., and it’s the Domaine de la Romanee-Conti Experience. Enjoy three unique reds and one white of what’s considered the holy grail of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay: La Tache, Richebourg & Romanee-St-Vivant, Corton-Charlemagne. Master Sommelier George Miliotes and Advanced Sommelier Zach Biro will lead the experience, which is limited to just 11 guests. Tickets are $1,850 and can be purchased here. Well, this might be some of the best movie news EVER! Princess Tiana and Prince Naveen According to The Hollywood Reporter, there are talks about a live-action Princess and the Frog, and if this is true, we’re going to be singing “Dig a Little Deeper” all day long. Colman Domingo said he is in talks to co-write an original live-action film featuring Princess Tiana from The Princess and the Frog. Eek! Domingo will co-write alongside Tony-nominated director Robert O’Hara. While deals have not been closed yet, it is not being described as a live-action remake of The Princess and the Frog but more as an original story inspired by the cartoon. ©The Hollywood Reporter The original movie came out in 2009, so this news is coming about 17 years later. Disney has been very into live-action movie remakes lately, and while some have been total hits, others have been misses. Lilo & Stitch earned a record-breaking $183 million four-day opening weekend domestically but… ©Disney …Snow White, which was released the same year, only had a $42.2 million opening. Lilo & Stitch is already working on a sequel as well, while others did not feel as strongly about Snow White. ©Disney Moana just hit the theaters recently as well, with mixed reviews. Some are happy to see their favorite princess on the big screen, while others criticize the acting and details. ©Disney Domingo has worked on some incredible projects, including Michael, Disclosure Day, The Four Seasons, and Euphoria. When discussing his acting career with The Hollywood Reporter, he said, “Maybe it’s because I’m sort of leaning into the third act of my career. For a long time, as artists, we’re in the ‘planting seeds’ phase. I feel like I’m in an incredible harvest period.” Festival of Fantasy Parade There was supposed to be a cartoon based on Princess Tiana, called Tiana, that was announced in 2020 as a “long-form musical comedy” and featured Anika Noni Rose reprising her role as Tiana as she “sets off for a grand adventure as the newly crowned Princess of Maldonia, but a calling to her New Orleans past isn’t far behind.” The Hollywood Reporter announced that the show has been officially canceled on Disney+ because the company wants to focus more on theatrical movie releases. ©Disney Would you want a live-action Princess Tiana movie? Growing up in Florida, how could I ever forget the feeling of driving through the iconic Walt Disney World arch? This summer I got to relive that magic by bringing my cousins, Asher, 9, and Noah, 5, for their very first visit to Walt Disney World during Cool KIDS’ SUMMER. A Cool KIDS’ SUMMER Welcome at Disney’s Pop Century Resort Upon arrival, we checked into our rooms at Disney’s Pop Century Resort – that is, right after the kids spotted six-seven as we walked in. Obviously, we had to get a picture. A Value Resort was the perfect fit for our family, with convenient transportation options and vibrant, kid-friendly places to eat and play just steps away from our room. The classic Disney theming, blast-from-the-past décor, and helpful cast members added to the experience. In addition to the great year-round fun at Pop Century, my cousins were thrilled to participate in the activities designed for kids of all ages this summer, right at the resort. When we arrived, the kids were even welcomed with complimentary Cool KIDS’ SUMMER themed drawstring bags. Who doesn’t love a present upon arrival? Enjoying the Summer Perks – from Free Water Slides to PJ Parties After settling in, we made the most of the free water park admission on check-in day for Disney Resort hotel guests with a trip to Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park. The boys had a blast, and the free Disney bus transportation made getting there easy. With endless kid energy, the day didn’t stop there. After a quick change at the hotel, it was time for the Cool KIDS’ SUMMER pajama party, my personal Pop Century highlight. While Noah colored and Asher tuned into a classic Disney movie right in the lobby, my aunt and uncle had the chance to sit back and relax after a full travel day. To top it all off, the kids got to meet Mickey Mouse for the very first time, and he was in his pajamas. How cute is that! After getting the wiggles out at the pajama party and filling up with some delicious food at Everything Pop! for dinner (tie-dye cheesecake was a 10 out of 10), the kids were ready to get tucked into bed, because when they woke up, we were going to Disney World! Park Day 1: Disney’s Hollywood Studios In a Galaxy Far, Far Away… The next morning, we walked right onto the Disney Skyliner which carried us from our resort right to Disney’s Hollywood Studios. My five-year-old cousin Noah was so excited because he is all about Star Wars, so naturally we spent most of the day at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. Asher and Noah braved all the Star Wars rides, including Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run, now featuring a new adventure with The Mandalorian and Grogu! This was the kids’ favorite, largely due to its interactive nature (they both took on the mission as gunners). As for me, I’m primarily a fan of the adorable Grogu, so I loved seeing these new additions, too. After Star Tours, the boys had one more Star Wars dream for their visit: to build their own lightsabers. A friendly cast member at Tattooine Traders guided both boys as they built custom lightsabers that will forever remind them of this day. It’s the Little Things! Kids really do love the small moments. Asher and Noah didn’t need one big ride after another to be entertained. Some of the most special moments came from walk-up shows and simply spotting details around the park (special shoutout to the ducks). We wrapped up our visit with a show, and the Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular! was an exciting end to the day for two adventurous little boys. The Skyliner ride back to the hotel was spent recounting the rides the boys braved and the wonderful first park day for the family. Park Day 2: Disney’s Animal Kingdom Our second park day took us to Disney’s Animal Kingdom. I had a feeling the kids would enjoy this park, as we’re all nature lovers. From the second we entered, the kids were wide-eyed and ready to become Wilderness Explorers (no, really, you can become an honorary Wilderness Explorer… Caw! Caw! Roar!). The Wilderness Must Be Explored! This free activity is a unique way to see the park, and you even learn about nature as you go. After more helpful cast member tips on exploring, the kids led the way in search of badge stickers to place in their books. Though they didn’t finish their books in one day, they were thrilled to collect more than 20 badges each! Noah even begged to keep going as we wrapped up our visit later that day, before he promptly fell asleep on the bus ride back to the hotel. Looks like we’ll have to come back for more adventures. Animal Encounters from the African Savanna to the Australian Outback Between collecting badges and learning about conservation, we experienced several kid-friendly attractions including Kilimanjaro Safaris and the Feathered Friends in Flight! show. Both experiences were a great way to slow down and enjoy the park together. Before wrapping up our day, we hopped on the train to Conservation Station to collect more conservation badges. Asher was determined to find his favorite animal, the gecko, and he did! We also got a first look at the wallabies and kangaroos at Jumping Junction, including a joey hanging out in its mother’s pouch! The adorable Bluey touches sprinkled throughout were the cherry on top of this area. Going in the later afternoon, Conservation Station was a great place to unwind where the kids could learn and play in an air-conditioned space. The Magic of Cool KIDS’ SUMMER From our arrival at Pop Century to our days at the theme parks, Cool KIDS’ SUMMER brought an extra layer of fun to every part of our weekend. These special summer touches add moments of discovery, excitement, and connection that families remember long after the trip is over. For Asher, Noah, and the rest of the family, this is just the beginning of their Disney story. And for me, it was a nostalgic reminder of how it felt experiencing those first moments of Disney magic all over again. Moments like these, getting to share the magic of Disney with the children in my life, are why I’m so thankful to be a Disney cast member.
